Ghost chili murgh Tikka is a must try!

itsthepip

Mediocre presentation of food, taste is alright, If u r here for celebrating an occasion, better of going to Indian Accent, Tamarind Tribeca... Quite below par for the category, and price Wonder how they even have Michelin 1 Star for below par presentation

Megala Sankrith

As someone who's eaten a lot of Indian food in my life, this place was just alright. Spices are well balanced and authentically cardamom centric, but the dishes were boring. It's nothing I couldn't get from a good casual Indian restaurant. Menu is also vegetarian friendly, which is not unusual for Indian food but is for Michelin starred restaurants.

khushboo agarwal

Only for non Indians. Authenticity is killed just for experiments!!! The price quantity ratio is awful. Had high hopes before I visited here yesterday from Boston just to have lunch. I want a good food in a restaurant, for a good ambience I can go to a spa. Not worth at all for foodies!!!

Brett Snyder

Amazing food and don't forget to try one of their amazing cocktails as well.

Yuval David

Junoon is one of the very best upscale Indian restaurants in the New York City area. And, it also happens to be one of my very favorite restaurants in New York City. The talented kitchen creates a myriad of uniquely delicious dishes and exquisitely piquant flavors. Junoon creates an elegantly sumptuous dining experience. And, not only is this restaurant known for its outstanding menu of very special food, its mixology bar is just as outstanding. The cocktail menu serves drinks that are ornate from both a flavor and visual perspective. Ultimately, the experience at Junoon is transporting through its mastery of culinary art and its elaborate atmosphere.

Julie McGurk

Amazing food and such welcoming staff

MOT Mark

Well this place does have good food, tho the service is pompous and stuffy. The restaurant is large and roomy but kind of cold and sterile. Like I say the food is good but not outstanding. Skip the dessert. But of course you can't skip the dessert because it's all prefix. And one of the included items is a dessert.

Tanushri Sharma

Good Food, Luxury Ambiance. The only thing I didn't liked the service is too slow, it literally took us 3 hours. They need to improve the time management, being this in main city you will have parking issues and you will have to go to paid parking and if the service will take forever than be ready to pay more than 65$ for parking, Waiters were very friendly and they did explained every cuisine they prepared so that was impressive. Over all Good Food, nice experience .

Nitin Shukla

Nice food! Masala whisky is a must.

Tukun Vij

We went for lunch yesterday with friends and the experience was horrible. For the exorbitant prices the food was tasteless and cold we came out not happy. The servers were courteous, but we are never going back there.

Sanjana Balakrishna

A very modern way of representing Indian cuisine. I loved the eggplant Chaat.

Tasmia Naomi

Excellent service and staff are very friendly. Loved every single item we've tasted. Had the perfect touch of desi and western food. They also served halal mutton when we went. Good place for dining in with a loved one. Would go back again and again!

Kari Neall

By far Junior was the most innovative and unique Indian restaurant I have ever visited. The menu was so fresh and ingenious. We ended up ordering several items from the menu and each sampled all. Everything was delicious! The quinoa chaat was the best! Not to mention their selection of game of thrones inspired drinks were a huge hit at our table. Can’t wait to return!

Michael Swisher

I went for a late night dinner. We couldn't get a table without a reservation, so we sat at the bar, which also served the full menu. I was perfectly satisfied with a great bbq ribs appetizer, as were two other business associates with the appetizers they selected. I will definitely go back to try their dinner selection, maybe on my next trip to New York.

Grishma Patel

Very delicious food. Featured below is the eggplant chaat + Nazmi Paneer. Would recommend this to fellow travelers in NYC

Monica Zhao

Delicious food and great value if you come for the pre fixe lunch. The ghost pepper chicken appetizer is amazing (and really spicy). Great service. The only thing that could be improved is the bathroom- it looks dated and has an unpleasant smell.

luenfire not art

amazing food and service, but they have some underwhelming desserts. you'd be better off getting the two course experience.

אילן יזהר

The service was excellent the food was not good

John Pattinson

Good interior. Wonderful decoration. A place which is best for family outing & Food obviously. They served the best quality food with lots of variety. Their platters are really delicious and fulfilling yet very reasonable. Moreover their staff is very prompt and hospitable. I highly recommend anyone who loves Indian food to go visit this place. Loved their ecstatic ambience and cordial hospitality. Ensuring the hygiene issues they become one of the best out the crowd. Wish them good luck !

Ricardo Francisco

Extraordinary presentation & food. The staff was extremely attentive and polite. Will definitely come here again.

Uh-rita SP

Nom nom nom eggplant Chaat, nazimi paneer, kulfi, and a cocktail....service was superior and food out of this world.

Jeffrey Godly

Amazing lamb chops and masala ribs. Great service! Wish there was a more extensive menu of desserts. I tried the 3 course dinner.

Julia Bak

We had lunch with a group of three in the Junoon. The atmosphere and the decoration is nice, the food had a good quality and was nicely served, but nothing special. Not every course was to my taste. And if you are not used to have it spicy, better ask before which dish is served hot and which is not. The service was a mixed experience, one of the two waiters was nice, the other grumpy and unwelcoming. Special orders are not getting fullfilled as well. So for the food, you can give it a try, but the service is lacking a lot for a classy place like this.

Nazia Khan

First time to NYC and were told to try Junoon as we were finding it hard to find a fine dining Indian restaurant which served Halal food. We were not disappointed at all. It wanted to celebrate our daughter’s 7th bday. And she absolutely loved the food as we also did. Very unique twists on India food but you will be left asking for more. Highly recommended this place. Met one of the owners, a true gentleman and a passion to produce the finest dishes from his kitchen.

Timothy Kim

Food was exceptional but the facilities kind of look dated, like the whole place could use a touch-up. I underestimated the ghost pepper chicken appetizer. Artichoke dish with peas was light and the garlic naan had great texture—some parts crunchy, others soft.

Vasudha Nassa

Visited this place basically to meet chef vikas Khanna (

Craig Butterfield

Place is high end. Decor and Service are excellent.

Sumeet Kals

Who could call it a Michelin star restaurant? I wonder. Food is terribly pathetic. Would never ever visit it again or recommend it to any one. Too highly priced and poor quality food.

Briana Rodriguez

Came last night with my husband and we enjoyed every minute of the experience. The Masala crab cake melts in your mouth, the Duck was perfectly cooked and seasoned well, the garlic naan is an excellent companion with any dish, sauces were extremely flavorful and cocktails were unique in taste. A beautiful dining experience with superb service. Upset that we didn’t have time to try any desert ! Will definitely be back soon. They deserve their Michelin star.

Micael Magalhaes

By far my favorite Indian restaurant in town. The drinks are spectacular and the food as well. Phenomenal presentation.

Chris Raju

Truly a Michelin star.

Mollik Ahmed

Mesmerizing food and service. We were stunned by the platings of the dishes, I have never had Indian food in that kind of exotic presentation.the waiters were very smart and passionate about serving us.my two friends were amazed by the way of serving. No wonder they have Michelin Star . Will be back very soon.

Alex Gnest

Went here for dinner for restaurant week, the food was delicious and very tasty. The portions seemed small but by the end of it I was very full. Had both the shrimp dishes for appetizer and main and they were so tasty. The desserts were left to be desired though, had the Kulfi which had four different flavors, could only really eat the mango and rose flavored ones. Good value for restaurant at $46 but even better value at lunch at $26 for RW if you skip the dessert.

R Menon

We went here for our anniversary. Place is high end. Decor and Service are excellent. Food is unique, not your regular affair. We loved the appetizers but didn't enjoy the main course as much. I expected more.

Rohit Kundalkar

Went for NYC restaurant week. Amazing food!

Noah Champagne

Super awesome, ghost chili chicken appetizer was super spicy but I cant say they didn't warn us. The entrees were all super interesting and unique, very different curries than I'd ever had before. Fun lollipop desserts w a bunch of unique flavors to try

Christian Olesen

We had a great time at Junoon. The food was amazing and had sooo much to offer while the staff overdelivered at all times. We got thorough introductions to the food and the cocktails were amazing. Definitely worth a try if you are into Michelin food out of the ordinary. Indian food at its best!

Ielyzaveta Grotovsky

Delicious food and upscale atmosphere

Pankaj Jain

Great food and atmosphere. Desserts were surprisingly good as well.

Reservation and welcome: yes, you have to reserve to get in here. The process is very smooth. They also remind you by text etc. At the desk you are greeted and they can take your coats etc. Please note baby strollers are not allowed. Not sure why? Ambiance : Amazing experience. Very very authentic Indian restaurant. Great staff, great seating, great atmosphere and ambience (check photos). Food: Food is supreme and relatively affordable. Naan's were very soft and almost melted in my mouth. All cuisines were great and delightfully served. Affordability: Two adults can eat a three course meal with appetizer and dessert in about $70 to 100. Servers and staff: Servers were professional and respectful. They catered to needs of my 6 year old son too. The only reason for 4 stars is the Dal Tadka we ordered was tadka less and was brought in late. Very importantly they realized the mistake and tried to rectify it immediately. Overall, I loved the experience of eating at Junoon and highly recommend it.

Junoon showcases the finest in Indian cuisine, complimented by an exceptional dining experience built on careful attention to every aspect of service, food, atmosphere and wine selection. Thier passion is a contemporary restaurant offering dining experiences to satisfy all aspects of fine cuisine: wine selection, service, ambience and atmosphere. Thier menu reflects the diversity of India, steeped in the classics while offering deft touches of modernity. Thier wine programs are constructed to pique the interest of the novice yet be alluring to the enthusiast and to focus on regions that best compliment our cuisine. Thier service style emphasizes hospitality with knowledgeable, technically proficient staff who are present yet unobtrusive. The result is a vibrant and trendsetting scene, full of energy and sophistication. Junoon is a place of gathering, a place of celebration, a place for business and a place for pleasure.

Abhi Parab

Good food, nicely cooked, slightly creative but nothing to rave about. Definitely lacking Junoon in service. Overrated!

Carolyn De Melo

They deserve their star. The decor is elegant with a classically inspired Indian flair. Their service is friendly and detail-oriented, and despite the heat of the cuisine (I'm a super-taster, so I'm particularly sensitive) the food remains complex in flavor, honoring tradition while also modernizing.

Sejal Soni

Food is ok..quantity is very small... I paid $60 for parking..but not worth it...food is also cold

Ravi Khokhar

Horrible horrible customer service, full of attitude and arrogance. They felt they did a favor by giving us a table. Never going to come here....

Birk Flett

Very classy place, sophisticated style, great and tasty Indian food, best collection of wines and flavourful desserts! Highly recommended!

Meal for 1 person for a two course meal was around 200$ including the tip (Just for information incase you are planning to visit) Ok here you go! This is the best Indian restaurant I have ever visited before. I went early around 5:30 in the evening for my dinner as I wanted to 3 course meal. Here is the list of Dishes I tried and my review about them. Appetizers : Eggplant Chaat : I think it was quite interesting and I'll not judge any restaurants just from Appetizers. I waited for 30mins to let the appetizer settle down and enjoy my drink. Main course: Nizami Paneer : stuffed paneer, cranberry, almonds, khoya, tomato sauce. I never had this dish in India or any other Indian Restaurant across the world and its was supper. Thick and rich gravy with beautiful presentation. I rate any Indian restaurant for their Dal Makhni and they have nailed it. The flavour and taste is very difficult to achieve by any Indian restaurant. Only 1 in 100 can chef can achieve this. I really like the ambience it was very classy and quite spacious. Must visit !

Jennifer Goff

An amazing experience at Junoon. There are two areas to dine. Book in advance however some of our party were late and they were extremely accommodating. The food was excellent. We had a variety of dishes, recommend the lobster, and they catered for allergy and gluten intolerant. The staff were warm and welcoming and exceedingly knowledgeable in the menus and in drinks to recommend.

Pan Ruby

Good food and good service ,couple dating's good place , got 2012-2018Michelin one star's restaurant

meredith grimm

Last night was our 3rd visit to Junoon. We had an excited party of four and had jointly planned our reservation which was at 8pm. We were seated at 8:45 and the waiter did not take our order for 45 minutes. We choose the fixed menu with 3 choices; appetizer, entree and dessert. We were finally served our entrees cold at 10:30 pm after speaking with the waiter several times who repeatedly said "let me check with the kitchen" and then would disappeared. Our bill was close to $450, service was terrible, food was cold and several items we requested were not available. We left before dessert and they deducted $100 dollars from the bill. The manager explained they were busy, which was likely the most disappointing...we will not be returning.

Naf Naf

Very good high end place! They deserve Michelin star ⭐️! Clean! Good food, tasty, sophisticated! Service is 4 stars out of 5, can do better!

Michael Turner

Excellent dining experience. Came here for lunch and got a 2 course meal. The flavor was so good, I especially liked the ghost pepper infused appetizer but it is a bit spicy! The cocktails were also wonderful, added a lot to the meal. Definitely earned their Michelin star here.

Eric Milt

Very good tasty Indian cuisine. The decor is simple but the food I still remember the taste and richness of the flavours.

Veedoola Ramkalawon

My favorite Indian restaurant. Always happy going there. Love the

Ravi Singh

Not the restaurant you think: bad service, little quantity & pricey! Eating dinner at this restaurant was one of the to do thing when visited NY. All four of us (2 adults +2 kids) were very excited as we have seen the Vikas program on TV many times. After a significant wait they took us in. Here the down hill journey starts. The menu is very-very limited (few items) on top of that you can’t change the spice level (the spice level is fixed). All items are four times more expensive than any other good restaurant which is obvious (big name associated) We ordered the appetizers, which took a while to come. The quantity is very little, 4-5 pieces…good for 1 person only, immediately we order more appetizers. Same time we ordered main course…longer wait, we asked a couple of times and finally they brought main course. One important thing to tell here is you have to keep asking for water the waiter were passing by but not even filling the empty glasses (remember the spice level is fixed, so the kid were finding it a bit hot so they needed water) I had to give my glass of water to my daughter because her glass was empty. Most of the staff members were busy in taking pictures of the customer then serving the customers. Finally, we started our dinner here we got the naan/bread was stone cold. When we asked the waiter the standard excuse: “Sorry let us replace it.” They brought only one naan (our order was of two) so another wait. The quantity of our gravy dish is so little that only sufficient for a person only (we all don’t have a big apatite, usually 2 order of dish is good for all four). After all this drama & frustration about the service and staff attitude, we lost our apatite and wanted to wrap it up. We wanted to give our feed back to staff so told them, again standard apology: “we can give discount (free dessert)” … which we refused all together as we weren’t in the mood to eat anything else. The bottom line is: bad service, arrogant staff, quantity too little, and fixed spice level. Not worth of money (paid $175 without any drink)..only big name. I will never even think of going there.

Revathy Ramasundaram

We visited this place during NYC Restaurant Week. The decor, and ambience were amazing. The service was also great. We had a 3 course dinner. All the recipes were rich in Indian flavors. I really loved the potato and mint based appetizer, that's a unique taste. For dessert, do not miss their Kulfi platter; it comes with 5 or 6 flavors, and each of different shape. This restaurant is definitely expensive, but go there during NYC restaurant week to get a 50% off for a selected menu.

Furquan Shaikh

Ambiance - really nice. Food - This was my second Michelin restaurant and I had read and heard that typically food at such restaurant does not live up to expectations. But Junoon totally surprised me. We went to their Patiala room which is order as you like. Appetizers and entrees were amazing. Every dish we tried was full of flavor - lamb chops, lal mirch ka paneer, salmon, ghost chili chicken(SPICY!!). As expected, it was super expensive but the portions were good.

Tekraj Sharma

I went there with my friend to celebrate her birthday and we loved it. Our server described the tasting menu and we decided to order the tasting menu. With chili mango we start our journey to explore the taste of Indian cuisine from different part of India. One after another courses are so much different flavor. Loved the thought of using Xavier, truffle and other ingredients to compliment the Indian spices. Blown away by the small bites in the middle of the courses. Loved the saffron desert. Service was excellent like the food.

Abeer T

Best Indian food in the town

Tanicka Sanders

Delicious. 1st time eating India dishes and I absolutely loved it. The hospitality was warm and highly professional. I will be returning.

Bruce Yablon

Excellent food and outstanding service. We celebrated my son's 25th birthday and because of a storm my daughter arrived late and they sat us right away and never rushed us at all. Amazing food!

Ashish Singal

I used to like this place, but came yesterday and was way over priced. Dining room is tasting menu only. Average to below average food for exorbitant prices.

Nandini Mazumdar

Really good food and service. The tasting menu is delicious, but I’m a bigger fan of the Patiala Room. The black pepper butter shrimp is divine, and the mushroom and the hara bhara mains are really good. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Nizami Paneer, but I’ve been here several times and their dishes are generally delicious. Great drinks, great vibe - perfect date spot!

Chetan Biradar

If you want authentic Indian food never I repeat never ever go this place. The prices are too high and the taste is good not outstanding. I have had way better food for a lesser price in New York when compared to this place.

Dmitriy Schedov

Indian vibes in very contemporary way

Pranshu

My first try at a Michelin star indian restaurant. The place has good vibes. Food presentation was awesome. Quantity is limited. Taste was good but nothing extraordinary. Little pricey. Try it once kinda place.

Harini P

Absolutely love this place, every dish is well thought out and executed with perfection. The flavors are amazing and so is the creative blend of cuisines. You can see the talent dripping off each course!

Deanna Hoffman

i give this place two thumbs up. certainly worth a return trip. it has a nice interior.

Har Har devta

Great place and really famous because of chef Mr Vikash . Great experience

Johny Bloom

Came for a lunch before couple of weeks and it was pretty empty and it's actually wierd, because the restaurant itself is huge! The food overall was good, i ordered ghost pepper chicken! Overall the staff wasnt really fast and proffesional it took long time to serve the food! The only good good thing that i will recommend is the rice pudding, it was delicious!

Jaymin Patel

The best Indian restaurant I have been to. The ribs appetizer is out of this world and the chicken entree with the junoon naan was so delicious!

Dan Geller

Incredible restaurant with beautiful decor. The food presentation is off the charts special. Innovative dishes and very pleasing to any palate. I tried a number of dishes and was beyond impressed. An absolute must-go-to. Jujoon's Michelin star is well deserved.

Riya Kals

Dal makhani was terrible, breads were horrible, green Prantha was slightly better, snacks were not warm enough..not adviceable to come here.

Jay Rana

I am taking away two stars for the limited menu items in their main dining room. Ambiance, service, cocktails, quality of food is top notch. C'mon Junoon team, I know u can do better with the menu. We visit for the food!

Sravani Yelamarthi

Not all menus are great. I went here for a team lunch. I was very excited since this was my second time here and I loved the food that first time. This time it disappointed me completely. Lobster - bad, shrimp - bad, mutton -bad, artichoke mutter - bad. Dessert is good. Check the menu before going.

Vani Ananthuni

Went for the 2 course menu & loved it. It was a non crowded day so multiple people took care of us. Food was a little delayed but worth the wait. The quantity was perfect. Their drinks were also one of a kind. Rose Royce tasted awesome. Our order was 5 pepper scallop, pepper duck, lal Mirch paneer. Dal makhani more than my entree. It’s not authentic - I’d day contemporary Indian. They could use some help on the ambience & decor. Lighting scheme was a bit off to me.

Ramesh Lakshminarayan

Very tasty food. We enjoyed a lot. Yummy.

Bolla Karthikeya

The restaurant is a perfect blend of amazing food and ambience. Chef's creativity in presentation is unparalleled.

Supraja Ramachandran

Expectations were high, but greatly disappointed! The food was served cold, tasted bad and one of the dishes had a strand of hair in it! Very sub standard and not worth the money at all!

Rahul Nagardalekar

Food was so good and delicious. Chicken as well as paneer was so soft that it was literally melting in the mouth. I didn’t like the ambiance though, felt it was too dark and simple but the food changed my mind. All 4 stars are for food and their service.

Ishan Kumar

Good food. Nizami paneer was amazing.

Gauravkumar patel

Highly recommend upscale Indian restaurant. Food is awesome, service is excellent. Best Indian place in Manhattan.

Rahul Kamath

Extremely courteous staff. The food was spectacular. The lobster moilee especially was exquisite.

Pratishtha Sharma

If you want authentic Indian food, this is NOT the place. Overpriced and upscale but the money is not worth the food. The decor is also not worth the money that you are paying. Though service was excellent.

Hussain Rizvi

Great experience. Indian cooking refined.

Arthur W. Allen

Always delicious, well thought out and executed food with the most gorgeous presentation and service.

yash bhavsar

Visited the place a couple of months ago, was undecided about writing the review but finally made up my mind. Have been going there atleast twice a year since few years now, and this place is now not even close to what it used to be and is going downhill. The food used to be full of flavors and balanced at the same time while giving you the wow experience. It is not the same anymore. The new dishes lack the flavors, and it is definitely not balanced. You can actually feel the hotness in some dishes while realizing that it is just chili and nothing else. Only the Michelin star is their distinct feature, surely not their food. That being said, the food is not bad at all but definitely not worth the price and nothing I can not find elsewhere so 3 stars. Good place to be if you want a good ambiance with amazing service, not worth it if you are looking for great Indian food. In short, nothing more than just another fine dine Indian restaurant.

Jagriti Pande

I wish I could give a negative review to this place. Extremely poor service. It took them 25 minutes to serve us the appetizers. Another 20 minutes to bring the entree and then it went south from there. They took 15 minutes to get us Parantha.. the daal and Vegetables went cold by then. It was such an expensive and yet tasteless experience. For some reasons, every time I ordered another Parantha, the server made us feel as if we are eating too much. I am not kidding, but he kept asking us with raised eyebrows, " 2 paranthas", 2 more paranthas?

Victor Garcia

Honestly my favorite evening place. I think I might become a regular. This place has an awesome feel to it.

shreya patel

High end restaurant where one can go on a special day! The Ambience was amazing and the staff were very friendly, the sparkling saffron is a must try drink! and so was the mumbai margarita The food was really good and tasted great. Definitely worth trying out at least once. just a suggestion : One of my friend is a Jain and she was unable to come just because they don’t serve Jain food. it would be great if u could add something with Jain options! they really wanted to come here!

R G

very bad experience. We asked for a la carta, however they seated us in the other area for prixe fixe. After we ordered our drinks, they said they could only do the fixe prixe one, otherwise we should leave. The staff and manager were very rude and unapologetic with us and we had to leave. it was our friend's birthday and we had planned to have a good time, but that experience spoiled it for us.

Shashi Gupta

It’s not the first time I am here. But the waiter was really really not up to the mark. He first protested to get our appetizers order to have it delayed by few mins and then came back and said we need to order the whole order. We are here to enjoy drinks first and the. Order etc. later he said he is doing us a favor to give a table to sit ... very disappointed .. Vikas Khanna I respect you and follow you on twitter etc but you need to work on your team here at Junoon.

Cedricn Palme

Eeerrrre mmmmeeerrrr geeeerrd! So great. Everything I had was just so filled with flavor yet well balanced. Going back because the entire menu looks amazing.

Oreo

It was a very good Indian place, lots of variety and you won't be disappointed

Aron Govil

We came here for lunch with a group of 20 people. Service was so so, and left lot to be desired. It took half hr for get some of our drinks. Chicken was too spicy. The tiny samosas were a joke and cold. Single malt Drink portions were too tiny and not in line with a good restaurant. Presentation of food dishes were nice though. But the lights were flickering constantly. It's a nice place but I can't give it 5 stars. Not one of my better Michelin star experiences.

Deepanshu Gera

We went to Junoon for lunch to celebrate our graduation. We had high expectations from a restaurant that had maintained it's Michelin star for the last 8 years and I am extremely pleased that we went here! We had a reservation for two people and did not have to wait to be escorted to our table. We opted for their lunch prix fixe menu. For appetizers, we ordered eggplant chaat and ghost chilli murgh tikka. Eggplant chaat was delicious, but the chicken tikka was even better. Juicy and perfectly charred chicken thighs with pear chutney hit all the perfect notes. Specifically, the pear chutney complimented the chicken really well! The chicken tikka was very spicy (as warned by our server before we ordered it), but the apples and the pear chutney perfectly balanced its spiciness! We ordered lal maas and nizami paneer for the main course. And I'll get straight to the the point by saying that lal maas was the best dish we had there. We didn't even have to use our knives to pull the meat apart from the bones and could taste the freshly ground spices distinctively. It was extremely tender and perfectly cooked. The paneer was great too! With a little sweet tomato sauce and crunchy almonds, it was a perfect complement to the naan. For people who want your mom's Indian food (Ghar ka khana), Junoon isn't that and neither does it pretend to be! I can definitely say that the dishes weren't as authentic as your local indian restaurant dishes, but it was Indian food nonetheless. All the dishes had authentic Indian flavors with a modern touch which I really appreciated.

Tom Graz

Way way way overpriced for the quality. Food was average. Ambience in the main dining room was average. Silly really. Hard to believe it received any type of Michelin rating. By the way also became ill (food poisoning) the day after. Won’t be returning.

nivesh aggarwal

We went there during last year’s restaurant week, appetizers were really good but entree were nothing that great. This we went there again during restaurant week. They have changed their menu and removed Lamb entree from Restaurant Week’s Menu and added a Pork Entree which was disappointing. So we mixed restaurant week and their $72 for 2 course meal to order all that we wanted. Food was really good this time, appetizers as well as the main course. The thing thing we didn’t like was Hara Kofta which was very bland. Overall a great experience leaving apart Hara Kofta.

Alex Genadinik

I didn't feel well after eating here. I got sick and paid $100 for it.

Manan Mittal

Food was quite nice, as expected from a Michelin star restraunt. The lotus salad, however, was quite contrary too my expectations. The nazim paneer about average, but the dalmakhni well exceeded my expectations. The breads were quite nice as well. The Desserts were amazing, especially the matka falooda. The service was hospitable, everyone was very nice.

raksha raj

Excellent ambience and customer service. Food taste would be rated at 4 /5

richa pant

Super rude staff, they close before the mentioned time on the website and turn down the customers without an apology! unfortunately, its an restaurant serving food from a country thats known for its hospitality and sensitivity towards guests!

Tyler T. Su

Food was bland, ambiance was average.

Swati Saxena

Summer restaurant 2019 .. loved artichoke matar and eggplant chat

Saketh Gudipati

Great place. We went almost at closing time on a Thursday afternoon but they gracefully welcome us in. The meal was as good as any that we've eaten. I had a 3 course lunch. The chicken Ghost chicken starter was as expected juicy and spicy! The main course item was Stuffed paneer and it came with a cencentrated gravy. Perfectly marinated paneer and very well made gravy were just what a main course would be made of. And finally the dessert had 4 different kulfi cones, all different flavors and each one better than the other. Over all the meal is one of the best I ate. . Since we went late and the restaurant closed after started eating there was not anyone else but the waiters there were very patient and sweet with us. Definitely recommend this place.

Jonathan Green

Lunch set menu is great. Reasonably priced and very tasty. Good lunch option if you're in the area.

Antonio Teixeira

My photo has over 32k views!!! No doubt this place is amazing!

Fakhrul Khan

I went there with my family of nine. I guess I had a very high expectation about food and service of this place. Decor was lovely, Setup was tasteful and the food was good. I had crab cake which was excellent and the chicken dish very ordinary. we were not pleased with the service at all. Food came out on timely manner but after dropping off no one came to check on us till long after we finished and it was time to clean the table .It happened after every course which really surprised me that no server, Captain or manager ever stopped by to ask us how everything was or if we care for anything else. We had to get the attention of a manager to complain about getting more sides which they served was enough for four people not nine.

Chris Prashad

Experience was amazing here. Our server Daniel was fantastic and very attentive. My wife and I did the tasting menu: the dhal was nothing special but the lobster and chicken were to die for.

Sara Ocanto

Loved the food and the experience. Great tasting menu, definitely coming back again!!!

Roxanna Cruz

Good food & nice atmosphere. Food served hot and looked fresh. I was there with few friends of mine. All of us like the food.

Came here for lunch, there were only total of 3 tables including us but the service was extremely slow (even though I told them we only have 1.5 hour, still super super super slow) Indian food menu always a bit hard to understand for me so it took us a while but it was an absolutely delicious lunch. The favorite/winner would be the Shrimp Butter Pepper Garlic - I don't know what is it but they flavor was just WOW! We shouldnt have let the waiter took away the remaining sauce that was the best part to eat with naan that comes with the entree (sad!) Scallop Five Spice - pretty good with a touch of spiciness, manageable. Nizami Paneer - very good flavor Tandoor Grilled Chicken (Murgh Lababdar) - very good flavor and tendered chicken pieces. Lamb - I don't eat lamb but tried a little bite of my friend's there's no that lamb taste and it was super tender! El Matador cocktail - love love love The Ocean Eye cocktail - tasted like lab potion non of us liked it... Ok I was sold on their Michelin star and I will come back for that Shrimp!

One star Michelin restaurant. Need I say more. The service and attention to detail was excellent. We had the 6 course tasting menu for which the restaurant earned its Michelin star. It was a two hour taste bud heavenly experience

Pretty nice place by well know chef Vikas Khanna. Loved the ambiance, variety of drinks and food.

I was there last night first time because one of my friend recommended it. It was quite a disappointment to my satisfaction due to couple of reasons 1. Over all cleanliness, the table we sat on near to that table food was lying on floor, we had to as two times to our server to get it cleaned. Men’s Restroom was awfully dirty water all over the sinks toilets seemed to be last cleaned a week back. 2. Severe understanding about the menu we ordered LAL MIRCH KA PANEER and Lahsuni Gohbi for appetizer I asked about what these dishes are to the person who took our order that person had no clue he replied that it’s like paneer tika and gobi manchurian which was funny to me a chef when designs his dishes would always like to keep it to his signature and a chef like from Junoon who has so much accomplishment to his cuisine his team has no clue what they are serving to its customers. We were in process of ordering our main course and we we asked about lentils portion to our server he was so unaware he replied that daal’s (Lentil) are side portions so they will be served in small cups so we should order two servings and we landed in ordering daal makhni and daal tadka which was again to our dissatisfaction as we had two big bowls of daal and two other dishes and luckily DAAL Tadka was horrible to taste as it was completely flat though we asked we are ok with medium spice levels. We landed up in leaving daal tadka as is. Overall I gave my review three stars as one dish HARA KOFTA, Daal Makhni and cocktail drinks were very good and no doubt were signature chef style. My disappointment were appetizers which were not very good to taste both were too much spicy and last but not the least a Resturant like Junoon restrooms very dirty and floor not mopped before a table is given to a new guest is completely unacceptable.

Junoon is a classy place serving good Indian food. I'm generally skeptical about classy places serving Indian food because sometimes it might be a bit Americanized. But I was pleasantly surprised with Junoon. I love the ambiance, and the food. It's a bit on the expensive side but it's a good experience once in a while.

Divya Dodhia

Absolutely terrific!! Loved the food, the service and the ambiance.

ELIZABETH WILLIAMS

Fabulous upscale Indian restaurant with excellent food, service and ambiance. Ask to be seated in the front of the house, the back room is not as intimate and lush. Highly recommend.

Darshan Shah

Great food, very flavorful. Great menu with a unique Indian twist to food you won't find at any other Indian restaurant (i.e. lobster and duck). Will definitely be back.

Aditya Kalakonda

One of the worst fine dining experiences we’ve ever had. From undercook fish, cold food and tasteless/dry vegetarian kebab and taking about 3 hours to complete a 3 course tasting dinner service. Completely unacceptable for the quality of restaurant they boast to be. -/

Saurabh Kaushik

Very costly for the given quantity as well as for quality

Dina Fleischman

Very unfortunate experience and I would not even give it two stars except for the fact that management did try, after a long wait, to make up for the absolutely horrible service and so-so tasting menu. We opted for the 6-course tasting menu (there’s also a 7-course option) and after an hour and fifteen minutes, we were still waiting for the third course. Mind you, these are very small portions and do not take that long to finish. (In fact, even for a tasting menu, the portions are meager at best and totally unimaginative and tasteless.) Our waiter kept disappearing and even after we asked another server to try and track him down, ten minutes went by and no one appeared. Finally, had to go to the hostess and appeal to her for help. Eventually, our server showed up with course number 3, no apologies for disappearing, and proceeded to spill our wine all over the table. (Not kidding, I wish I was.). Sometime around then, the manager came over and asked if everything was okay and, of course, it was not, but we appreciated his concern and said so. By the time, we were almost done, the manager brought a lovely artichoke dish and some rice, both delicious but we were kind of done in by the whole experience at that point and just wanted to go home. But the quality of that dish was so much better than anything on the tasting menu and it’s clear the latter is not what got them a Michelin star; they probably should do away with that tasting menu altogether. And for goodness sake, get rid of that server or at least make sure he’s not drinking more wine than he’s pouring for the guests.

I just love this place. It's my third visit this time. The food is amazing as always. There are always some twists on original recipes. It's my go to place on every special occasion.

Just went here after about a year, and I was really looking forward to it. Junoon is a favorite of a business associate when he visits the U.S.. And he's picky, so it was a great excuse to go. But I'll focus on the only thing that irked us with Junoon... the cocktail list. I don't know if I just never noticed it before, or it just hit a nerve this time... but all of the cocktails contain seven ingredients or more. That is absurd. C'mon now "ghost chili tincture?" Why not just say "chili extract?" The drinks were about as sophisticated as a mouth full of jelly belly jellybeans. Thankfully the service is great, the venue is impressive, and the food is delicious. If it weren't for that boujee cocktail list!

Anni Bellasnow

I liked it the first time I went, I did the patiala room the waiter was lovely and the food was bountiful. Definitely enough for me just to have the main. They just changed their policies to only do two courses minimum in the patiala room. Which is actually just too much food for us. Dislike it after the policy change, lame.

Sourav Singhania

Best Indian food in NYC.

Biju Mannazhath

It was fine dining at its best. Food taste Indian, spicy and dessert was great. Though we were in formal room, it got busy and sound went up, but it was ok. No kids policy in formal dining is actually good for customer meets. I noticed the casual dining room was super noisy. I felt that we were adequately left alone for conversations

This is one of those restaurants that you go to for a very special occasion and you want something on the next level of dining. This is that next level, the atmosphere is fantastic and the staff were very friendly. The food was very unique and tasted great. Definitely worth trying out at least once.

Randy Majors

Wow. Went from 5 to 4 to now maybe 2 stars. Been there at least a half dozen times but the latest time...the bar busboy took my order, knew nothing about wine, there were screaming children in the bar lounge (love kids but not the place). I didn’t even bother to attempt a food order this time. I used to think this was the best upscale Indian restaurant in NYC, although on our previous visit to this one the service in both the bar area and table was sporadic. It seemed the bar and perhaps service staff was short-staffed, which should not happen when you're paying at this pricepoint. Has well passed its prime as evidenced by the dining room being well less than half full during prime dining hours on this Friday evening.

Or Ohayon

Food was not so good they made the whole table to got the tasting dish we didn’t enjoy anything and that’s definitely not worth the 136$ per person very very disappointed!

It Enaltec

One of the best Restaurant with open kitchen, exotic cocktails and testy food!

Joshua South

Our dining experience at this restaurant was a definite memorable one. Every dish we ordered had a wow element and was cooked and executed to perfection. The dishes we ordered were the five spice scallop, Masala ribs for starters followed by Telicherry duck and Lobster Molee. I would find it hard to pick my favourite, each were that good. I had previously not come across the Telicherry sauce, so tasted something new there! By the way the desserts were also yum with slight twist! It was also nice that the mains come with little accompaniments. For lovers of fine Indian food, this one is definitely a must if visiting New York. Service was faultless, so planning to definitely return next time we visit New York.

Mayank Sarathe

The most overrated restaurant in the city. The food was below par and not at all good. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Indian food. And, very limited options for vegetarians.

Ritika Mehan

I have never given a review to anything or anyone place before in all these years...this is my first review and it goes all out to Junoon for its outstanding service and food! Impeccable presentation, mind boggling taste, and truely something that connects taste to mind & heart.

vinay abhishek

One of the exotic Indian restaurants to visit in NYC. Truly a fan of their unique plating and flavor

Djey Kanjaria

Best place for authentic Indian food.

Siddharth Pathela

Went to the Patiala room for some a la carte. It looks fancy but is extremely overpriced (even for a 1-Michelin star restaurant). The portions are small and the food is bland, quite frankly a far cry from traditional Indian food. They make a good attempt at modernizing Indian cuisine and some things are actually decent, but overall not satisfying. The best things here are the desserts. We tried a few and they were all fantastic. If I ever went back, it would just be for the desserts (but I don't see that happening). Go elsewhere for Indian food.

saba an

Authentic Indian food ! Vegetarians loved it and so did non vegetarians!

Abilash Reddy

Delicious food with the right blend of spices, great ambiance, wonderful service that comes with a super premium price. Way toooo expensive. I loved the pork ribs appetizer and the lam Sam goat curry..

Sandeep Raut

Great food cooked to perfection. Upscale place to make your special days memorable. Highly recommended!! It's set up by Michelin star chef by the way!!

Yun Fei Sng

I forgot this was another Michelin star offering at #NYCRestaurantWeek. It was a really good satisfying meal with elevated versions of Indian classics. I personally preferred @rahinyc more, which imho was just more innovative and exciting - but if you are a purist who likes food to stay true to its roots but also be excellent, then @junoonnyc is definitely for you. My top five, in order of love: 1. Eggplant Chaat - super savory crisp chips with a bit of heat; I could eat this forever 2. Pork Mundu Chili - lusciously melty, spicy-sweet pork belly 3. Ghost Chili Murgh Tikka - deceptively benign-looking spicy af tender chicken 4. Ma's Rice Pudding - I swear this has crack in it 5. Artichoke Mattar - just rich, tomato deliciousness Also, the bathrooms are huge.

Marykathryn Butcher

Vegan friendly, the waitstaff worked with the chef to prepare a two course vegan meal for us. We particularly enjoyed the pickled artichoke.

Neha Nadkarni

Food presentation was innovative though was expecting more flavor profiles to also be envoked.

Nikhil Mahesh

All the dishes were good...very friendly environment

Edna Banks

Went for dinner with family to this great place that we had heard about - at the outset, would like to state that the food was par excellence, great stuff and one that leaves you happily sated and you would to come back for more. We were ushered in warmly and we ordered our wine and beer to start with. My son decided on the dinner menu and the staff realised that we wanted to order a-la-carte but were seated in the fine dining area. Thus we had to shift with our drinks to the new area to continue our dining. I would not have hesitated to move, had the fine dining area been full and crowded, but there were only 2 or 3 tables occupied and they could have easily allowed us to continue our dining without any one the loser. But no, a process is a process and we had to shift and even me being a physically challenged person was no consideration.

Madhu Srinivasan

Under $100 for 2 person / 3 course Michelin lunch ! What is to not like. I wish my Shrimps were a touch more well cooked, I don't know maybe it is slightly posh to eat undercooked

Abbhinaav Siingh

Awesome place ! Great work Chef Vikas Khanna, as you love Banaras so much name some dishes inspired by Banaras

Vijay Krishnan Ramaswamy

Great restaurant with a focus on innovative and tasty dishes! On the flip side, the prices are really expensive and the portion sizes pretty small. Expect to spend at least $50 per person for a good meal with dessert.

Shugyan D

Both food and service is awesome

Pramod P K

It's hype. Food was just ok

Anil Asokan

Love this place .. the food is so good .. always a recommendation but it ain't cheap

Zayane Handal

World class experience. Flawless service, professional and friendly without being intrusive. Food will stun you, in presentation, flavor and its interesting interpretations. Cocktails are different from what you see at every craft cocktail house. They are innovative and the ingredients work perfectly together. Come hungry and with high expectations. Both will be sated. Enjoy!

Subhadip Ghosh

This is a combination of two visits over a period of 10 months once in Sep 2018 and another Jun 2019. Both the times le wife and I chose the 3 course menu (this gives you more options to choose as opposed to tasting menu). The first time we came the experience was amazing. Everything from start to finish was perfect. Our favorite dish was Lal Mas (goat Curry) - the flavors were amazing the spice just right. The desserts, faluda and the kulfi, equally amazing. The second time, we loved the Murgh Tikka and the same desserts. The Lal Mas, which we were looking forward to, was very disappointing though. It seemed it was all spicy hot but the flavors failed to impress either of us. Also was served wine which was newer than that mentioned on the menu...hmm not sure if that's great.

Julien Tizorin

Excellent food . Service a little bit on the slow side. The restaurant is beautiful as well and not too loud. Great place overall.

Abhay Dighe

I would say good. May be my expectations were a little on higher side. But it was dream come true to visit Junoon.

Casper Verhoofstad

Good Indian food, very traditional. Slightly pricey but definitely worth a visit!
