Me and my friend walked in with a group of 25 people and me and my friend asked for water and he rejected to give it to us because we didnt order a drink yet, and instead of serving it to us he served my friend who did order a drink then he "attempted" to serve us a water after 20 minutes and threw it right out in front of our faces which was extremely rude and I have never been treated so rude for a bartender that had less than 4 people in his bar shift to a group of 25 of us is unacceptable. I'll be sure that no one gives this bar any business due to this rude attitude we received.

The food was pretty good but the service was Slooooooow. The bar was pretty empty when I arrived which is why the slow service was so surprising. I'd go back if i wanted a quick bite and a beer but not for an actual good time.

We'd been walking all day and just wanted a comfortable place for a comfort food meal. This place fit the bill perfectly. With TVs all over, we could catch up on the day's sports and relax. The food was fantastic and service attentive. Could tell the locals like this place and often came to hang out with friends.

I was here for my company holiday party, so I can't comment on regular service however they have a nice space upstairs for private parties. Food was ok. Typical bar food. Bartender was great. he made nice drinks. We had a lot of fun

Tried to go for brunch on St. Patrick's day, but they changed brunch menu to a very limited menu so we had to go to another restaurant. It was disappointing as we asked if they could accommodate a few people with dietary restrictions who would have ordered something from the regular menu but the answer was no so we had to leave. That was the disappointment. The server didnt even ask the kitchen.

Four stars for the price vs. portion and five stars for ambiance. Came here for prix fixe thanksgiving reservations. While the service was fairly quick, the amount of food for what I paid, along with the run-of-the-mill service was less than expected.

HORRIBLE service. Unacceptable to have to wait over 40 mins for to be waited on. On a slow night. Waitress couldn’t care less when I complained. Manager said I should’ve come to him earlier. So I have to walk around and seek service in an empty restaurant? Absolutely not. What a disgrace for an Irish pub. And the apps that we ordered when we first got there, before our waitress went MIA, weren’t that great. Will never go back. Especially with so many other restaurants on 9th.

Gossip is a clean, large Irish bar / pub in this part of Manhattan. The bartender wasn’t exactly friendly on the weeknight that my friend and I went here, but was efficient. It’s nothing special but it’s a solid spot for a few beers.

Excellent as always! I have been coming here since Gossip first open and still one of my favorite neighborhood places (and I don't live in this neighborhood). Major thanks to Kathryn (our server). I enjoyed the lamb burger on this visit and my guest had the Shepherd's pie! Thank you all again. You should make Gossip NYC a stop when in Manhattan.

They have a fantastic steak sandwich here that comes with sea salted waffle fries. I ordered the steak medium-well and it came out exactly so, without any of it being burnt. It was full of savory juiciness and the sandwich had a generous portion of steak. It also comes with sliced mushrooms and swiss cheese on a firm roll with a soft interior. The food prices on the menu are pretty good considering the neighborhood. They have an upstairs area which they sometimes clear out for private events with bar service. Everybody who works here is really friendly and attentive. There is a piano in the back room on the first floor, presumably for occasional live music. I would definitely return.

Went there for dinner. The Pub looked nice and it was somewhat full. Our server was certainly overwhelmed. We had to order several drinks twice before we got them and the service was really slow. The food however was good. I am somewhere in between 3 and 4 stars. I hope that the service might be better in general and therefore give the 4.

We made reservations at this restaurant as we were having dinner before a show and some of the reviews mentioned that the service was slow. Turns out we didn't need them. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated almost immediately. The place as an Irish Pub feel with a long bar down one wall and high booths and booth/bench combinations along the other. There is more dining area in the back which appeared to have standard size tables. We were given the option of staying in the bar area or sitting in the back. We stayed in the bar. The bar was about half full and some of the patrons seemed to be regulars. Listening to the bartender and his Irish accent was a treat for me. The waitress, unfortunately, I didn't get her name, was prompt. While she was getting our drinks, which were mixed very nicely (not too much or too little alcohol), we looked through the menu. It's mostly burgers and Irish fair, which is a treat for us. We don't have a good Irish place where we live. We ordered the nachos as an appetizer. They are proper nachos, not the new trend of giving you 6 tortilla chips with stuff on each chip. We also had the jalapenos on the side as my son like's them but I don't. The order was perfect and it came out warm. We were just finishing up the nachos when dinner arrived. I had the bangers and mash. It was perfectly cooked and still steaming when it came out. it was almost to hot to eat. It was a huge portion and I was only able to eat about half of it. My one, and only issue, with the food is that there was a ton of gravy covering the mashed potatoes. My bangers were literally swimming. We had a little extra time after dinner so my husband and son ordered dessert and I chatted with the waitress about things we could do before the theater opened. The waitress was really friendly and once you get her talking she has a lovely accent as well. I can't say enough how impressed I was with all of the staff. Everyone was friendly and efficient. As soon as we were finished eating a course, a gentleman came and clear the table as he exchanged pleasantries. We never felt rushed to finish. The restaurant did get busier as the night went on but it was never really packed. Of course, it was early on a Saturday and I can easily picture the place being slammed if there is a big game on. This is the type of place that I could see being my "neighborhood pub" if I lived in the city.

Not typically bar food by any means. Superbly high quality food, I fell in love with the Goat Cheese and Beets salad, which had a mountain of arugula and pistachios accompanied by big mounds of pure goat cheese -- heaven on a plate. My friends went nut over their lamb burgers. Attentive waitstaff, reasonable prices, in the heart of the city. Cannot say enough good things.

Prices are good and the food is okay, with a variety of choices. The shepherds pie was our best choice, but one of our dishes came out cold and had to be sent back for reheating. The service was very slow, so leave plenty of time to eat. Good for large parties. There are lots of better choices in the area for food, but if NY prices scare you, this may be an option.

Gotta say, the staff is really nice and the atmosphere was fine. Food? The salad was very nice. Mixed spring greens (not gross iceberg lettuce) and a nice homemade (I think) balsamic. Fried fish and chips: OMG! I took a wonderful trip to Israel this past year and floated in the Dead Sea. When eating the fish, I imagined swimming under water in the Dead Sea. That's what it tasted like. Take a tablespoon of salt and chew on it. Hey, bright side is I won't need any more sodium this month. To be fair, the fish was quite dark on the outside. Perhaps it was due to bad oil?? I don't know, but I'm not going to try it again to find out. Usually, I would probably give a place a second chance and order something different. In this case, I just watched a couple dozen teenagers not finish half their food. Teens never do that. I'm guessing they weren't too happy with the food either. With ten thousand other restaurants to choose from in NYC, I think I'll do that.

What I would consider a classic New York Irish bar and grill we went there for lunch and we both had burgers which were good with a very generous portion of very good French fries. Service was a bit on the slow side but nothing too bad. Price was in line for the area.

This place has zero integrity. Me and my friend came for Christmas bites before a movie. We were seated by who we later learned was the manager. He said all they were offering was a prie fixe menu. I asked again for clarity, looking at the bar "is that ALL?" Yes he replied. Okay. We sat for dinner in the bar/cocktail area. Noticed other plates with burgers and fries coming out, that were NOT items on prie fixe menu. Another table next to us order another burger. At this point I'm upset I was lied to. The bill comes and the overpriced drinks and sales tax were a surprise but so was the automatic gratuity that was never mentioned nor notated anywhere. The service was decent but the feeling of being lied to and misled was unsettling and not appreciated. I won't be returning. Food was decent tho. Prie fixe anyway.

Held our holiday party here and while everyone had a good time and the price was right, I have to say the food was really mediocre and doing a long time to come out. The upstairs room has a traffic issue with the bar being right in front of the entry and 4 feet from the bathrooms. The back of the room was spacious but no way to get people down to that end. It also got extremely loud and I found it hard to hear people. The staff was accommodating and efficient.

Just visited Gossip for Thanksgiving dinner. They provide a fixed menu for $39.95 on Thanksgiving. We were welcomed as we walked in and shown a couple of options within the bar/restaurant to be seated. We chose to sit near the back where it has been decorated nicely for Christmas. Our drinks orders were quickly taken followed by our options for the food. We both chose shrimp cocktail, turkey dinner and apple pie with ice cream. The place wasn't full but it was fairly busy with some large groups having dinner also, yet the food came out quickly. We were really happy with all 3 courses which were all perfectly presented and tasted great.

The location is out of the tourist area but easy to find in Hell's Kitchen. The staff are friendly and the service is good. The beef stew is mazing and the cottage pie is right up there as well. This is certainly a must visit when you're in the area.
