As you can see its rating is quite positive, and it is based on a high number of feddbacks, so we can say that the valuation is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to give tatings when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Mexican restaurant.
This friendly restaurant surprised me. Almost walked past yet the crowd inside sparked my interest. Delicious shrimp ceviche with tortillas is a must here. They also have sandwich option that are hard to turn down. Thanks for the wonderful time!
Excellent flavor. Generous portions. Fast, friendly service.
One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. Cozy and partly louder crowd, but tasteful food and friendly staff. Will come back.
Party of 6, went on Cinco De Mayo. The wait was a little long (45 minutes, and it would've been longer if we chose to sit inside) but I guess it was because of the day. The portions were a little smaller than expected, a little less than completely enough, but the food was still really good.
Guacamole=Yes! Really good but small portion. Portions are pretty big except for the guacamole. Tacos are great. Burritos were huge and we saw a few people just splitting them because they were so big haha. The churros were okay. Nothing extremely special but they were tasty. Drinks were great! And strong! Need a little bit of a kick at the end of your day, these will get you going! I also loved the variety of micheladas!
If you are around the area and looking for a good reasonably priced food, go here. Their happy hour Margarita is really good and the bartender is very nice. I will come here again.
It was very busy, they have pretty good food. The tomato mix for the drinks was awful. Too much of a certain spice and my taco lacked flavor a little. It was definately overpriced.
An embarrassment to Mexican food. Margarita was bitter and not well balanced.
Born and raised New Yorker, I used to live in San Francisco and I must say these are as close as I can get to having burritos that taste as good as the ones I had in California. They have vegan options as well, which is a big plus for me. …
Drinks mediocre, service terrible. We asked to be seated at the patio and they insisted they couldn’t fit it us regardless of having a table for 8. We let them know we are just here for drinks we got attitude from everyone for not having food. I understand table of 8 not having dinner but we notified them ahead of time. And they continued to come by our table and give us looks with out talking to us. Won’t come back. We also got kicked out. For no reason. Disappointed and no intentions of returning
Great food and drinks. Really enjoyed the shrimp tacos and the mango margaritas.
Solid UWS no frills Mexican spot. I like the platters... Tasty, generous portions, and decent prices considering the neighborhood. Their delivery holds up as well.
Excellent cheap Mexican food. El Mitote has a lot of options on the cheaper side, and they are delicious. I absolutely love the shrimp burrito and the platter here. You also have to try the agua frescas, the pineapple one is so refreshing. The space itself is a little tight and loud but it's a great atmosphere for hanging out with friends. The outdoor seating is also nice when it is warm out.
The most amazing home made guacamole, and the flavoured mojitos were gorgeous (I tried both coconut and Mango)
Great food and margaritas. Outdoor seating is very limited, but the happy hour prices inside are tough to beat.
Delicious Mexican food and great service
Great food good service and the shrimptacos are amazing
BEST tacos al pastor outside of Mexico
The table and chairs we sat at were very cheap and uncomfortable, the ac was barely on In 95 degree weather. The salsa wasn’t great and we had to pay 5$ for it when usually it’s free. Paid 14$ for very very mediocre tacos. Overall was disappointed. plenty of better Mexican places around to eat at instead.
My wife and I visited El Mitote in May 2019. We sat on the terrace outside before it started raining. We loved the margaritas - I had a mixture of pomegranate, passion fruit and pineapple and my wife had mango flavor. Staff were very attentive. We thought this was a great place.
Awesome frozen cocktails and a cheerful lively vibe. We had a great time.
Pretty good, would go again! Lightly lively atmosphere when I went midday. I'd try something other than what I ordered though: burritos and quesadillas. I wasn't impressed with the quesadillas - seemed just like tacos... (Pictured) Burritos neatly made, but not as filling as I expected
Great little Mexican place with good Margaritas and outdoor seating.
The food and service were amazing!
Noisy, tasty food, fine margarita
Small place, but nice. The food is excellent. Unfortunately, they're slow with the orders
Food and service was A+. Surprised I haven't been here sooner!
Really great service and good food. Very crowded at lunch and dinner. Best get there early
Very nice casual restaurant with home made style Mexican food!!!
I wish I could leave this place no stars. The service was terrible, and I was ignored completely when asked for something as simple as a refill on water. The worst part is they forgot to put our order in and waited for 50 minutes before I could finally get a server to come over. They offered no apologies and no compensation. Do yourself a favor and stay away.
THIS PLACE WAS HORRIBLE! Horrible service. We waited an hour to find out, only after us asking, that our order had not even been placed and no one told us. When we tried to ask our waiter where the food was she brushed us off and ignored us. We could barely get refills for water too. Horrible service. Would never go back, will never recommend to a friend. Do not go there!!
Really good food! Friendly service and outside seating.
Small joint with excellent food and extremely fast service. Highly recommended!
Enjoyed their burrito and fish tacos. Cozy place.
Excellent. Loved it. Expensive. After a couple of meals I could fly to eat in Mexico city for the same money. Stupid New York.
Great Mexican food!!! The staff is really friendly and always keen to help you!!! Prices are good as well for the location and portions’ size!!! Go for it!!!
Fast service and strong, cheap frozen margaritas especially for Saturday night in Manhattan. Would recommend and would go back despite the noise level. (that's just a me thing though, nothing I'd knock them for!)
Great tacos, decent service. It's usually pretty busy so be ready to wait, but not very long. Moves pretty fast. It has about 6 to 8 small tables on their front sidewalk patio for some outdoor seating which is great for warmer days.
Unbelievable and authentic Mexican food! Must try the tacos pescados and the quesadilla bisteak! Please open in London too!
Ordered a burrito and fish tacos and they were amazing. Some of the best I've had anywhere.
One of my favorite spots on the upper west side. The chipotle shrimp tacos are the best I’ve had anywhere.
Most delicious chicken quesadilla I have ever eaten.
Don't wait, don't wonder... just GO!!! WHAT A GREAT PLACE!! FOOD delish, drinks strong, service impeccable! My new fav Mexican spot! Tinga is the best, melted cheeses over refried beans!! Are u kidding me!! So perfect!
Great food and great service! Wouldn't hesitate going back!
Vegan burrito with wild mushrooms was delicious. The staff is attentive and friendly
Service was slow. Food was mediocre. Great location.
A pleasant surprise! I am always skeptical of mexican food places, usually they are not authentic and over priced. This restaurant managed to have decent pricing that's comparable to the area. Great tasting food and the drinks are delicious. There is both an inside and outside area to be seated in. My wife and I sat outside. The service was prompt and our server was excellent. I would definitely go again. I gave it 4 stars, I would give it 5 but the portions are a bit on the small side. They weren't terribly small but if you are a big person or have a huge appetite I would keep this in mind before coming here. Great place for couples or small groups.
This small Mexican place near Central Park has good food and was quite busy at the time I visited. Food was okay. I think I have had better Mexican food. But, I was quite annoyed by how loud and noisy and cramped it was inside. The interior …
Small place, noisy, but the food does not disappoint. Portions are on the smaller side for a Mexican place. The Torta ahogada is the best this side of the border.
Solid menu. The burrito was lovely, the salsa and guacamole was fresh.
Shrimp tacos and mezcalitas are amazing. Nice pre-club/cafe vibe is a bonus!
Greatest michelada in NYC. Lovely staff with great food. Margarita is no joke! You will fall in love with this spot and find yourself coming back again and again.
I paid $14 dollars for a burrito 2/3 the size of a chipotle burrito. This place is a complete ripoff. Chipotle tastes the exact same, larger portions, same waiting time, so why waste your time here? Also no complementary chips. What mexican restaurant doesnt offer complementary chips and salsa? It's like going to an italian restaurant without bread and olive oil being served. You people are so cheap and pathetic.
Tried El Mitote through MealPal, the option of the day was Chilaquiles (tortilla, tomato-chile de arbol sauce, onion, crema, refrained beans, egg). Very fresh tasting and great level of spice. Portion was perfect for lunch. Definitely plan to visit again for a sit-in meal + drink.
Food is alright but I’ve certainly had better Mexican food. They don’t do free chips and salsa and they cost $5 with no refill on chips despite having extra salsa. The service is very poor and the staff is not friendly. We watched as they sat multiple parties that arrived after us get seated first. Also, at the end of our meal, they asked us to leave (after paying over $70 for our meals) so other parties could have our table despite us having to wait and being paying customers. I will not be returning!
I would definitely recommend this place for price and authenticity. The staff is also very nice. It is small, busy, and the wait for to-go food is longer than for at the tables. I'm not even sure the order was put in when we arrived. It was over an hour for three fish tacos and a burrito. All the toppings for the tacos were in the side, and I just don't see how it could take an hour to deep fry three tiny pieces of fish. Like the purple cooked cabbage!
I ate it delicious . I love it. I told my friends abt this.
Great service, good food for the price. The chips are good but the salsa has some strange bean flavor, not bad but not what’s expected with mild salsa. This place is a good value as 3 tacos are about $14 depending on what is inside.
