REVIEWS OF Dos Caminos IN New York

Disappointing. I got a mealpal order. It was the worst meal so bland no flavor at all and no sauce or guacamole provided. I had to go back waste another 10 minutes of my lunch time to get done sauce. Chicken wrap Tasted like it was sitting in a basement for weeks. Would not order food from here again.

David Owen

Dos Camino is great place with amazing atmosphere. This is one of your favorite places to go for drinks and food. We go there really often and most of the time we are big groups but they always find a table for us all and they do it really fast without any waiting. The staff are doing great job and they really friendly.

Sacha Austin

Sorry, can’t buy into the hype. It’s just ok. Lots of tables available and still had a wait. That said, we were going to order an appetizer at the bar and then got seated. When we asked for the same appetizer once we got seated we were told that they only serve that at the bar (which is 10ft away). Help me understand why certain foods can only be consumed at the bar and not the table. Further, service was slow and I noticed that each person we interacted with had a bit of an attitude like they were just moving us along and going through the motions, food was underwhelming. Vibe is appealing but just not worth the hype.

Great service and good eats

Mark Cintron

Best brunch ever!!! Our waiter was so accommodating even with a huge party (16) yelling and trying to get his attention. Luis is a champ!!!After we all a few mimosas he was basically herding cats but he had such a great demeanor and was cracking jokes the whole time! Can't wait to go back

Sterling Dorish

Disappointing what has happened to this brand, or at least this outpost. This place needs to be cleaned from top to bottom. Walk up the stairs and the glass on the staircase is absolutely filthy. Makes you wonder about the kitchen. Breakfast tacos were half filled at best, just mediocre all around. Too bad.

John Pirando

The lighting and atmosphere was cozy and romantic. In addition the location is nice. However we waited forever to be served and it wasn't all that busy. Also the food was only ok. I've had better dining Mexican American dining experiences. Don't misunderstand me, it wasn't terrible... it just wasn't great

NELSON Caban

Good food drinks and service just pricey

blake Von Haack

I haven't eaten here yet but it's a top notch restaurant in a top dollar neighborhood so I'm sure it's great. I work in this district so I get to see some of the food because they have outdoor seating and it really looks great! Looking forward to eating here soon!

Elizabeth Pena

Good happy hour spot; food is good; good for group gatherings, a date, alone, friends, family and kids.

Roger Rampersad

Lovely place and food was very Tasty would of given a 5

David Blaut

I love this place for brunch. Great staff, reasonable prices, huge portions and kid friendly. I do suggest you make a reservation if you are going for brunch because the wait can get rather long if you don't.

Rachael Kistner

Bartender forgot about us because they were arguing in front of us about something work related. Drinks were nothing impressive but not bad

Pauline Rebourgeon

Food and drinks were stunning. The service need some improvement. A lot of waiting and not very spontaneous.

Zori Diaz

Wonderful restaurant! Great service. We had a party of 8 and they were very accommodating! The food was excellent ! We had everything from guacamole to all kinds of tacos, steaks, fajitas and everyone was totally happy with their food. I think the biggest hit was the chorizo mac and cheese....my brother loved it !

Justin Duncan

Until my visit to Dos Camino I was a huge fan of Mexican food. We would make it at home or go to a Mexican restaurants locally. And we absolutely love it. But I was told Dos Caminos i authentic Mexican food.. which was sad because I honestly hated the food. It was bland with little to bo flavor and surprisingly little spice which is what I was expecting. That being said it's a great restaurant situated in a flat iron style building and the service is great. Its just not my cup of tea. I just need to keep eating the fake Mexican food I have grown to love and avoid the authentic stuff.

Aran Azarzar

The burger was too dry, order only Mexican food.

Cindie Dowell

Our server acted like he hated us. The lamb shank was delicious.... BUT the fried cauliflower side didn't say it was breaded. After making it clear to our waiter that I can't have flour, he basically didn't care. He easily could have asked the kitchen to correct the issue. What's the point of a menu if you aren't going to describe the food accurately? Our server took forever for everything. He was a jerk and I will not be back.

Scott Miller

The food here was absolutely disgusting. The enchiladas had a sickening chemical taste, with a horrible sweet aftertaste. Other dishes were of similar quality as well, except the guacamole. The atmosphere was nice, but don’t plan on going here until you’ve had a few.

Yari Zelinka

I loved the special margarita of the day. Food was good. Mexican is not my favorite but I think their food is good. Service was slow.

dave I

Me & the gf came here for the outdoor seating option. It was a perfect NYC night. The 'ritas were good, a bit light on alcohol but that's expected. Chips n salsas(3) were really good and we had a few appetizers (I can't remember because it was two weeks ago) but they were good! Service was friendly & good. Chairs were comfortable. Hopefully we will return for a meal before the snow starts to fall... Ha.

Beate Hesjedal Sundheim

Slow service, but great food.

Viviene Banks

Good food & Great Location This location looks small from the outside but is actually a lot more spacious than expected. I came here for brunch with a party of 8 on a Saturday around noon. Surprisingly, there wasn’t a long wait. We waited about 15 minutes for a table. The food and service made the “wait” worth it. We had a large order of the guacamole which is made to order. We did order a second serving only because we all LOVE guacamole but one order should be fine for 6-8 guest. If you are there for brunch, the entrees come with a drink option. I suggest the Frozen Prickly Pear! It’s pretty and delicious!

Darrell Moncada

The food was very delicious and flavorful. Waiter suggested to try "NYC's voted best margarita", turned out to be true! Very good and had a little bit of spice. Wish it was in a bigger glass! Waiter was very friendly. Would definitely come again.

J Steed

Classy spot. Loved the food. Not a fan of the restroom upstairs tho

Krs P. Dior

The beautiful restaurant is smack dab in the heart of Chelsea. Staff was very chipper, that is a good sign. The waiter was pretty attentive. The aesthetic of the place was warm and cozy. It was a great atmosphere for a date night. The food took a bit but it was well worth the wait. This is a traditional mexican restaurant. My plate was sizzling! I would highly recommend!

Jake Lukas

Great food, reasonable prices

Micael Magalhaes

Average Mexican restaurant. On par with high-end restaurants. Average food, service and dark inside. Outside patio is delightful and offer a good look on the NYC sidewalk meatpacking life.

mrk188

This is the worst place I've ever eaten in Manhattan. My friend's food came out and it was correct but mine was wrong. I told the server at which point he told me that I ordered wrong. Um....no! Then it took so long that my friend had finished her food 20 minutes before mine came out. Out server was on his phone in the corner the whole time. I would never eat there again.

Francisco Morales

Great atmosphere, good food. Guacamole is great!!

Lars Brevik

Great food, nice area

Edward Rodriguez

Excellent Mexican Food! their Guac is really good

martin henson

Great service, excellent Mojitos and lovely guacamole!

Will Nicol

Good deli for a quick bite to eat

Mike Norris

Great Mexican in Manhattan. Didn't expect the burrito to be closer to a Chimichanga but it was a pleasant surprise (and not awful). Good margaritas. Great guac.

Alan Hsu

Friendly but slow service despite being only half full. One of our party was only told that the restaurant was out of the dish she ordered after everyone else received their food. Food was good enough, prices were high given the quality and portion size.

Jeff Hilliard

We had a wonderful lunch that was reasonably priced for the area. Guacamole was amazing, tried three margarita flavors and all were amazing. Stephanie was great!

Robert Murphy

Pretty cool place. Service could be better and the food selection was fairly limited. Could have done better. Probably wouldn’t return.

Nayanda M

Lunch offerings were burnt, rice uncooked but the drinks were decent.

Dan Van Derveer

Hosted a work event here. Food was good and relatively quick given our group size. I do wish they seated us at a slightly larger table. It could have been a bit more comfortable.

Robert Clarke

Booked in advance for 2 people. I have not tried Mexican before so was really looking forward to it. When I ask for some advice on what to eat waitress could not have been less helpful. Food took along time to arrive, tables around us getting their food well before we did, even though we ordered first. Food was OK, hence the 2 stars. Will not be returning.

Jennifer

Always come to this dos caminos location, can’t go wrong with their amazing margaritas! Highly recommend. Food is great too! They also have like a hidden club underneath. Seems cool

Sam Borsden-Doyle

Another AMAZING couple of meals here in Dos Caminos. We had such a great experience on our last trip to NYC (3 years ago) we decided to go back. This time we were getting married in New York, low key with a few friends and decided to take them for a meal here afterwards because it was so good. It did not disappoint. The whole group agreed it was the best Mexican they'd had. Food was outstanding, drinks were outstanding and service was outstanding. They even gave us a bottle of complimentary champagne to help us celebrate our big day! I recommend it to everyone visiting NYC. So please try it, you won't be disappointed :)

Ron Jacobs

Great bacon wrapped shrimp!!

Madeleine Barowsky

I can't speak to the service or rest of the menu, but I got take out nachos from here that were awesome! Lots of cheese, crema, avocado, and pico de gallo. Plus some spice from jalapeno slices. A whole meal (with some leftover most likely) or an excellent appetizer.

Nieves Sanchez

The food and drinks are good1. Also, the atmosphere in the patio is great in summer time.

Kelly Hartnett

Took a bit long to get the second round of appetizers and drinks, but we had moved from late lunch to dinner service time so maybe the place just got crowded. The guests at the table next to us did crowd us and one girl started doing french braids whil other customers were trying to eat and it wasn’t addressed by any staff. It was pretty gross. Also for a place this overpriced (expected for the area though) the apps were just kind of room temperature instead of warm/hot....

Brittany Miller

Dos Caminos has an expansive patio to enjoy tasty white sangria on a nice night out. Right in the middle of the Meatpacking District, it’s a great spot to people watch all of the passers-by. The guacamole was good, but the salsa trio left more to be desired.

Nicholas Bennett

Our waiter was amazing! He deserves 5 stars. Food was a 4, the sauce on the enchiladas could use some work but the taquitos are awesome.

Mike Morgan

Really good, authentic Mexican food. The guacamole is amazing.

Adam Trend

Dinner by... Streetlight? How Illuminating! We arrived at Dos Caminos after the normal dinner hour and asked to be seated outside. The hostess replied, without a hint of humor, Okay. If it starts raining I'm not moving you inside. She then walked us past at least 15 available tables underneath the canopy to the edge of the property, where the streetlights were so bright I thought they were filming a movie. When the waiter finally came to our table, he shared the hostesses passion for bad customer service. So why am I giving them four stars? Because the food was one of the best Mexican meals I have had in New York City. Amazing! Well worth being blinded, and having cars and ambulances rushing by 5 feet from the table.

Arezou Attar

Friendly staff, good food and great place to sit and have a dinner.

Joi Lassiter

Great food, slow service

Brian Yee

Very good brunch! Breakfast burrito hit the spot! Followed with a coffee and a Margarita! Definitely need to come back!

Darrell N

Excellent Mexican food , enjoyable, authentic Mexican delights with some good drinks from the margaritas to sangrias. Always coming with new dishes which are always good. Has more than one location in NYC making that more convenient.

Claribel Perez

It was my first time there. Food is delicious. I really love the tortilla soup.

Chris Harris

Excellent service always.

Omar Santos

Horrible customer service and very rude hostess. My wife, my daughter and I were waiting for no reason over 15 minutes when there were tons of tables available and nobody waiting. Ohh!!! And it was on a Wednesday at 4pm, so not a busy time. When I asked the hostess, she said “well, you have to wait or go somewhere else”. Well, we did. Although, I’m extremely thankful for this bad experience since we found an amazing Italian restaurant across the street called Resca.

Gurleen

Great location and fun to get brunch on the weekends when the weather is nice. We sat outside and had the best time. Getting a table can be a wait, but it goes fast and the service is good. The guacamole was yummy and I got veggie enchiladas which were pretty awesome. @traveleen_gurl

Brian Adams

Standard fare with a few unique Mexican dishes. Good space for family or with friends. Comfortable bar for drinks with friends on a night out.

Tatiana Vasquez

This restaurant is awesome! They have amazing happy hour menu, they also have one of my favorite Tequila cocktails, called Smoke Pineapple.

Angel Adams

The food the service the atmosphere what's fun and vibrate. Very enjoyable!

Birger Hahn

Went there after a guided tour. Service was very good and so was the food. I had the Chimichanga and mz wife had the Surf N Turf tacos, which were amazing as well! You should most definitely get a bowl of their guacamole! I personally do not think it to be overpriced.

Anne Salter

Love the Guacamole and tortilla chips, the Salmon ale plancha with Kale , love dining outside while watching people pass by, great location at the Meatpacking district, NYC

General CrossHaze

Amazing service, wonderful atmosphere, high quality food and ingredients, well recommended - check this place out!

paula rubiano

So good Great food and great service 100% recommended We only ordered things to share and was afraid of it being too much but it was enough

Pablo Gonzalez

It's located on a prime spot in the heart of the meatpacking district but the restaurant is a disaster. Went there and got on a waiting list for a table, 15 minutes the lady said it will take. Sat at the bar to have some drink while waiting (right next to the check-in) after 40 minutes waiting I ask her if our table was ready and she said I never got down in the list. Now that I'm all upset I get a table right away, service was slow, food didn't show up together and the check took forever to come. It's a shame that such a beautiful corner is wasted.

Phenix Hall

Don’t get it wrong the food here is tasty and fresh. The drinks are good and the view is great. I mean this place sits on a corner right in the heart of the West Village. The google building is nearby, the Apple Store is within steps and all the fancy fancy out of reach stores are within a stones throw. Yet, when you are from the butt of Texas (Elpaso) its hard to give a place that bills itself as Mexican more than three stars. THIS IS NOT MEXICAN FOOD, its like thinking that Moo Goo Gai Pan you got from the Chinese restaurant is actually served in Chinatown. It looks like some Mexican food Ive seen but its not Mexican so I can’t give it more than three stars. But if you want to sit and people watch and be in the heart of wealth this is the place to be.

Philip Bergqvist

Good food, cozy atmosphere, and friendly service. My only minor complaint is that it was quite cold sitting by the windows.

Andrew Louis

The Best Fish Tacos - Made with LOVE!

Nikhil Shah

Pretty good food and drinks. Would recommend the Asada tacos and the steak fajitas. Be prepared for a wait if you go during a busy time. We waited for about 10 minutes but by the time that we left, the wait was up to an hour and thirty minutes.

Justin Chin

I usually go around to different trucks around the city with my line of work and try different tacos. My usual truck on 14th and 8th wasnt there. So myself and some co workers come here. Super friendly service I'll give them that. Very clean, very professional, great service. However their food is lacking. Their tacos are mediocre at best. Ordered the spicy guacamole and it was the blandest thing I've ever had. I thought they gave us the wrong order. Talking clear eyes commercial level bland. Complementary rice and beans were also served with the entrees which is customary , also bland aff. The tacos, they were just off. A little flavor to it, but skimpy, small, and overpriced. I should have just went to a truck elsewhere. Not to say resturant tacos are all bad, but this ain't it.

Darwin Gellizeau

Great Food & Excellent Service!

L. M.

The food was very good as well as the drinks. The ambience was lively and up beat. Will definitely go back.

N

Mediocre food and ok service. I ordered the fish tacos; the sauce with the cabbage was way too much so my tortillas were soggy before I even ate them. Service could be improved; water never refilled, I asked for salsa and it never came. Would not recommend if you want good Mexican in the city.

Vanessa Vaughn

I celebrated 2 birthdays there. My friends enjoyed themselves and stated that the food was delicious.

Eshan Mahale

The food at Dos Caminos never ceases to disappoint! Had brunch the other day, and the staff was super friendly and patient. The ambiance never disappoints either, overall an amazing experience! I'd highly recommend to try out the guac, I'm not sure what it was, but it was super creamy. Didn't require reservations either, you can just hop in for a bite.

Olivier Simon

delicious Mexican food and very efficient service. I had a great experience.

Jasmin Nunez

The whole staff was super polite and the food was AMAZING!! Definitely going back but with more people.

victor jansen

Excellent. Food is great. Service also great.

Pete LePage

Food is good, but service was off today. Took 20 minutes just to get water and place our order. Then another 10 or 15 to actually get the drinks. Staff didn't seem overly apologetic about the delays. Will prob go back, but have reset my expectations.

Francisco Melo

Very good food, staff friendly. Restaurant area kids friendly as well

Montejano Zeke

Good food .. not the best! The service has horrible. Out celebrating My husbands birthday party.. nothing special about this place. We had to track the server down every single time we needed something.

Lexy McCauley

Great drinks and service! Short happy hour but the margaritas are worth it.

Kimberly Collins

Great, spacious patio, came here on a Sunday around 1 and had no wait time for a group of three. Food was delicious, I got the mushroom tacos which cost around $17. The guacamole is excellent and very fresh.

siddharth kotian

I never had anything similar to this guac. It had a buttery texture and had a perfect taste. Good place for brunch.

Nav Wirach

Mouth watering, filling and very flavorful. Had a great server who made the experience of the meal that much more enjoyable!

Molly Hartman

Great guacamole. Great atmosphere. Food is okay.

Tobias Kaatz

I like the guacamole and the food is good, too. Unfortunately, the place is very loud.

Sam Cooper

Great food, great atmosphere, lovely restaurant, deserves all 5 stars

Alberto Grazi

Great place where to stop for a drink or a bite. Large seating area outside

Martin Bertrand

Very good place for brunch. I had the salmon benidect on corn bread. Very good. Worth the price. Had unlimited margaritas. They have preckly pear margarita that my friend tried. It was very good too. Great waiter! Bar can get backed up. So if everyone at the table orders the same drink. They bring out a pitcher. Faster drinks!

Kalani Diehl

As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a hostess that was grumpy and very unpleasant. She sat people before us after we had waited 20 minutes. Then to top it off we didn’t get service at the table for a while. It takes a lot to come back from a bad first impression.

Amrantha Kalra

I am not one for writing reviews very often however I had to post this after my experience last night and the discomfort I have been in all day. My friend and I met up for a casual dinner here last night to catch up only to end up with upset stomachs all day today. Additionally while we were dinning, the waitress completely forgot to get our beers and she got us the wrong order of fajitas. She ended up bringing us shrimp instead of chicken and steak, to which I am allergic. We specifically told her this and she in fact helped us pick the chicken and steak combo. She did apologize later and I understand, maybe she was having a bad day but I am would not recommend this place unless you want to spend all day having Pepto bismol!

Fernanda Telles

Great food, staff and spot. It's a cheap option compared to other restaurants in the area. Beautiful ambient and neighborhood.

Bettse Birnbaum

The food was very good but the prices was way too high

Luiz

20 min awaiting on the table to order. Talked to hostess and she said there is nothing else she could do! Terrible!!!!

Sara Rehart

Fun outdoor seating, perfect for summer. Frozen margs are delicious and foood is unbelievable!! Very accommodating staff as well.

Paul James Dantas

Smoked bacon guacamole was so good. Could've eaten that all night. Waitress was very accommodating with our meal and drinks.

Jack Daniels

Probably one of the best places in Chelsea to get some nice Mexican food! The guacamole is perfect, their fajitas are also must-try! The only bad thing about that place is that it's overcrowded and making reservation is not bad idea at all! In general very cozy place with excellent staff! You have to try their Margaritas, probably one of the best that i tried in the city!

Shannon Snyder

They seated us and took our order and didn't return until the food was ready a while later. Not very good service ☹️

Christina Komonce

Shrimp market salad is so good!

David Chen

The service and food was pretty good. The wait on a Saturday night was reasonable and our table was ready within the time frame given to us.

Andy Mejia

Good was good but not the best Mexican food I've had. The customer service was on point though and I appreciated. What made it a 4 star visit were the prices. $19 for tacos is just way too much. If they were better tasting Is get it, but they still need some work.

jose montalvo

Our server Mo was really attentive and friendly ,the food portion are perfect

Kevin Donlin

Best margaritas you will ever have

Daniel Lieuwen

Chips and guacamole were fantastic

Lovika Jain

I have been to the one at times square but ambience wise, I would rate this better. It has sufficient indoor and outdoor seating. We had made a booking so there was no waiting. I would recommend reserving a table. Food is good, servers are courteous. I would deginitely recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice.

Gary Hamm

The food was amazing l.. I see why the Margaritas won best in the City.

D Rogers

Our friends that live in Jersey City took us and it was wonder. Great Margaritas to go along with the delicious food.

Lakia Roderts

Did t rlly enjoy none of my meal ...done food was bland and the rest was over seasoned if their was negative stars i’d put it .

Aaron Friedman

Not Mexican food, more like a bad interpretation of TexMex

Iliana Renteria

The food was O-K, the service was trash until the waiter realized we werent cheap. And to top off our date night we saw a mouse crawling up the light fixtures in the outside seating area, that was our cue to go.

Joe Heaver

Amazing bar staff with great recommendations! Highly suggest getting the smoked bacon guacamole bowl! Photo is of the tacos

PJ Bell

Sweet corner restaurant/ bar/ and dancing

Jay TMG

Got a response for management. Kudos. Most businesses don't bother. I tried to go to the link you sent, but there's no listing for your location. Meh. The guac was very nice - served with chips, salsa, verde, and a very spicy third. That's kind of where it ended for us. I mean, the food was not bad. Neither was it all that great. And with everything priced for the neighborhood (WAY high), it definitely wasn't worth that. Service was so-so. Our server maybe was having an off day. Maybe she was new. But it was pretty slow. Had to flag down another server to get a check after waiting far too long. Decor is nice - warm and friendly. Plenty of room between tables, which is not the norm here in NYC where everything is jammed together. Best thing I can say about the place - sitting outside is nice. Because of the triangular building at an intersection, it's ideal for people watching.

Cason Grover

Great Mexican food in NYC? Yes, it's true. Mole short rib was amazing, as were the margaritas!

Chuck B

I enjoyed the food and dining experience.

Victor Bui

It's a fusion Mexican food. Really good Enchiladas

Ainsley Thomas

Beautiful food and decent service, few issues with kitchen timing but overall well worth it. Their margaritas are awesome

Yoav Glidai

UPDATE : Second time I went was for a friend's birthday brunch. The food was very good and the service was much better. Good value for bottomless brunch as they serve margaritas too. First review: Slower than imagined service, mediocre food with high end pricing. Disappointing.

Mark Mangrich

We've been here a couple times now and I keep hoping it will get better. It doesn't. The wait staff have a hard time. I'm not sure if it is poor training or lack of good processes, but they are often busily running around, but are not attentive nor productive. For example, we had a large number of various dishes served to the table, family style (about 12, because we had a large group). The dishes all came without serving utensils, so everyone had to use their own forks to serve themselves. Another example, we arrived and the server took less than half of the drink orders and then didn't come back for the rest until after about 20 minutes. There are other examples like this. Because of this haphazard service, it is really hard to relax and enjoy yourself. I always worry about getting our food and having it be enjoyable by the table. I would not recommend going there. Consider other Mexican places. There are some just north on 8th and east in the Lower East Side.

Dionne Castillo

Great service. Great food. Went on Wednesday after work.

Michael Key

Delicious Mexican joint across the street from the Soho House. Their asada taco are great. Everything is quality. Their chips are some of the best anywhere. PRO TIP: You get three sauces but it's a bit skimpy. I like middle, dark red one. They consider it the mild sauce. Usually I prefer a hot sauce but there's is a bit sweet as well as hit...which I don't care for. Next time I go there I'll ask just for the one.

susan lloyd

Lovely warm atmosphere. Walked the high line on a cold day and this certainly warmed us up. Hostess was lovely and helped us order the best food..

Sunny Chen

A great place to have a "family style" meal with your close ones. Went with family and we got the fresh guacamole which was good. The different variations of salsa was okay and the spice had a nice kick. Additionally we got tacos, seafood ceviche, mushroom empanadas and the rest of it I can't remember. It was all pretty good, none of it really struck me as "great" so if you're choosing Dos Caminos it wouldn't be for the great food as it would be for the general experience.

G Velazquez

The place serves large portions and for affordable prices. nice staff members. Great work.

Cedrick Pierre

Good place. Good time. No complaints.
