This Restaurant belongs to the category of French restaurant.
Delicious and great service.
Vibe is nice, drinks are good, over priced and food was mediocre. The burger was nothing special (bun not that fresh even). Dessert was very tasty (the fried doughnuts)
Great food but very overpriced
I came here before for a brunch and now dinner with friends. I couldn’t get a reservation so we tried to walk-in and got a spot. Their food are delicious and well-plating. The house bread is comp but you would love it. The service was wonderful compared to other restaurants in this neighborhood. They have a bar area and a garden in the back of the restaurant which is great for hangout. Definitely my favorite place to eat.
I am not a French cuisine fan historically by any means, and I must say Wow! From the pate (I typically will not touch) to the steak (I am a Texan by the way and a huge steak fan) was phenomenal. Highly recommend for a date or dinner with the spouse. It is quite loud so if you don’t want to talk you have an excuse.
Overall: I was not highly impressed with the Saturday jazz brunch. Decor: The restaurant has didn’t remind me of French restaurants I had been to in Paris outside of the mirror which gave off slightly French vibes. I was a little confused by most of the decor. Pre-Meal: I liked that before your meal comes, you are given several pastries as opposed to bread. The lemon doughnut was a little too sweet but the Madelines were delicious. Main Meal + Drinks: The Rosé that the restaurant has is very delicious and is neither too sweet nor too dry, although it is a little overpriced. You would be better off getting a full glass of another wine or a cocktail. For my main, I had the Duck Hash. The duck was crispy and delicious and the potatoes were well seasoned. Overall a good dish.
Cool vibe. Beautiful Decor. Bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable, not to mention well-dressed, lol. But it really seem to be very overpriced. I think including tax and tip I paid $30 for one cocktail.
If only it were that easy. Take a great location, refurb the space with a hip pseudo French theme and make a huge success. Only one problem, you’ve got to sell good food. If you’re looking for a French experience or indeed a great culinary …
One of the best brunches in the city! High quality ingredients and the perfect mix of sweet and savory options. Save room for dessert!
Great drinks, great food, go it’s worth it.
The food was top notch!
Great food and attentive service. Portion size on the pork chop was insane. As always with French food there was no shortage of butter :) Really loved the pepper and anchovies flatbread. Would say the scallops were a bit underdone to our taste but for some could be fine, if you like on the rawer side (realizing these are very tough to cook to perfect doneness). After finding a small piece or two of shell, we commented to wait staff on the scallops and were immediately comped the dish. To be sure the whole experience was colored by spending 15 minutes at the bar before we sat down, chatting with the bartender Jeffrey about different concoctions, and then excellent service at our table from Pam. Thank you for a great date night!
Came for brunch. The food was excellent and the service truly impeccable - a gem that has stayed amazing!
Worth a visit, especially if staying at the Ludlow Hotel. Brilliant decor giving you the impression you have left NYC for dinner.
I thought def this place would be over-hyped and precious given how vogue it is but legit it’s a really good place that lives up to its reputation. Excellent food. Interesting cocktails. Cool vibe and decor. Def I recommend.
A friend recommended this spot but we felt cramped to start the night off at our table but no options to switch. Our waiter had to come back 3 times for food related items - once because he forgot one of the two apps we ordered, once to tell us they were out of Lamb so my husband picked a new option and the 3rd to confirm my entree. Our first app came out after 20+ minutes and then the second was at least that long because he had to come back and ask us if we still wanted it. My scallops came out cold and he forgot our frites for the table. I had to flag down the server a few times. Our bill was almost $500 that included two bottles of wine and the server removing the scallops/frieds but it was over priced for what it was. The drinks from the bar were good and we liked the flat bread and grilled oysters. Would not go back...
Started off the night a little rough, but the service and accommodation really made up for it and made my birthday dinner special. The food is really great too!
Pretty good food. Nice atmosphere, but lame hostess. We wanted chairs, no bench, and we forced into a corner while about 30 seats were available. Moronic. Else great.
Good food. Atrocious service and ambience. My impression is that they are trying to capture the best aspects of traditional French restaurants but failing and capturing the very worst. They try and make up for it by catering to AMEX platinum cards. Unfortunately the pandering is transparent.
Walked in there Sunday morning for a croissant and was warmly greeted and accommodated quickly by young lady. Excellent service and delish bakery good!
Great energy in the dining room. Intimate atmosphere in the lounge and great food and drink all around.
Love to spend time with my friends at the lounge area at the back of the restaurant. Very cozy!
For what it's worth, the food was pretty good but not to a point I would keep in mind or want to come back again. Place was beautiful, the staff were really nice and it does have a good wine selection. If you haven't been there it is still good place it visit once.
Amazint all around. Great decor, great service. Convenient location.
i am a bit sad to only rate my experience 3 stars tonight, i come here quite a lot to enjoy the great atmosphere as this place still rocks after its populous years have past. i was disappointed with the kitchen, as soon as my glass of wine …
We quite loved our dinner here, despite the somewhat mixed reviews from fellow food snobs. Nothing to really complain about. I suppose the lamb carpaccio should be less aggressively spiced so as to taste the lamb but everything for us was quite good. The fish dish was phenomenal
Dirty, greasy French... it's a love affair! Perfect spot for late night dinner and drinks. Was not joking with "greasy", yes it is rich food, unless you plan to only drink your meal. Bar or the tables are great. Partial to bar, as the staff is remarkable. Its a bit of a see and be seen spot. Great people watching and energetic atmosphere. Great for romantic outing or just hangout. Food and cocktails are just fantastic. Mon ami, hence the place is on my replay!
What can I say but I need more PAM in my life! Not only was the food on point in every way, Pam made sure that our experience was suited to our tastes. I am a Chef and this food did not disappoint. This is definitely the best restaurant experience I’ve ever had, from the Chicken Crepes to the “tomato bombs”, so many thumbs up! Pam made my birthday extra special by surprising me at the end of the meal with the most amazing dessert.
For tourists !! The place is way over price and you don't get the quality for the price you pay. The wine list is a rip off and the sommelier was unable to guide us on anything, he recommended a white which ended up being a red... The food was ok, the crepe with a tuna tartare felt like an unecessary effort to make it french but it doesn't go together.
Great atmosphere with food that is unique and delicious. It can be a bit on the noisy side but certainly a place I’ll visit many times and look forward to sharing with friends!
Amazing food, wonderful service
Fun lively spot with outstanding food, great service. Close tables.... very close.
Overall an enjoyable experience and good food. Mille feuille was delicious, sausage as well. A smaller plate for the sausage might make more sense aesthetically. The duck was tasty and had potential - but feels like it's incomplete. Maybe add some kind of puree or poached fruits (like those used in the reduction). Steak was par the course, as you would expect from any non-steakhouse. Mood and decor are perfect for a casual date night.
We went for breakfast right before they closed and they were kind enough to seat us and still give us amazing service. I had the pancake and it was amazing! Highly recommend.
Spectacular food. Definitely need a reservation. Even the free bread was amazing. Would definite bring a date to impress. Worth every cent.
Please enjoy this photo of me and The Bread™️. The Bread™️ honest to god the best part of this very expensive meal. Don’t get me wrong the food is GOOD, the place is CUTE, and the service is OK. but The Bread™️ is THE MONEY MAKER. eat it and order more. Other yummies: the mushroom dish, the cappachio (duh), but for real The Bread™️ Very pricey so be ready to slide the check over to your date. KIDDING
Excellent food, fun vibes.
This site is my number one site. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to this restaurant. everytime I feel like having a decent meal, this is the place that comes first to my head. excellent and many types of food and a large menu.helpful team, and pleasant mood. Not less important, the cost is good. I sent my friends to this place with no doubt.
Quiet gem on the Lower East Side
Food just wasn’t that good. Very nice ambience and presentation but the actual dishes didn’t justify the price.
Exquisite. Get the scallops, you won't be sorry
Totally amazing cuisine beautifully served. Something for everyone. Excellent cocktails as well.
There is nothing not to love about Dirty French. Exceptional service, awesome and delicious food served hot and fresh and drinks that are perfect. Whether with a group, a loved one or dining alone, this place is an Oasis of exceptional dining.
Superb French Bistro cuisine.
I certainly hope we have our holiday party here. It's a wonder place! Hors d'oeuvres, main course and wine were excellent!!!
Maybe lunch or dinner are better options, but the breakfast is really disappointing ... almost cold poached eggs that are too soft on cold toast with tomato spread that literally tastes like nothing. Thin coffee and the juice tasted like „fresh“ from a can, but not fresh pressed. 30$ was def way too proxy for a disappointing breakfast
I made the reservations online on the website. I was able to make the reservation for the time I wanted and it was very simple. When I got there, I told them my reservation time. I did not have to wait for the seat. They brought me to the seat and I was very happy with my seat. It was spacious and the food was delicious. The waitstaff was also friendly. I would come back again on a different time to try other things and I would recommend this place for dinner.
It was delicious and what wonderful atmosphere! The food is to die for. The staff were wonderful. Very friendly. There is a cool greenhouse/patio in the back with a fireplace! Very cool!
Great spot on LES. Go for dinner and then hang out at the back bar with fire place, big sofas and good cocktails.
Very nice place! The food was very good too!
Everything Gear, the food, the ambiance
food are amazing, really delicious. a lot of variety and options in the menu to choose from. I love their cakes, so good.
Expensive but very good service and food on point! Would go back for special occasions
This house made nova salmon was the best salmon I ever had. I only eat smoke salmon dish for brunch for real
Food and service are top shelf
Yet another fun, showy, and delicious restaurant from Major Food Group. A loud, buzzing room sets an active atmosphere for the meal to follow, and careful service is similar to the other restaurant group's offerings.
First night in the Ludlow so decided to eat in. Buzzy little place, plenty of great service. Meat was fantastic although for my taste the lamb and cumin did not pair well. Dark so have young eyes or be bold and use your smartphone torch! Will definitely eat here again.
Love this place. Brunch was a delight complete with a jazz trio and lots of bubbles!
Generally, being told by a male maitre D' dolled up in a way that would get Elton John's attention, to wait 20 minutes in a room with as many free tables would be annoying, but the theatrics here makes for a fun night out. Dirty French is not big on showing restraint. Dinner was a well-seasoned delight made especially more so served by our charming young Irish waiter.
Great French bistro inside the Ludlow hotel. Service was great and food was even better. Playlist was also killer!!
We had a table booked and still had a two hour wait, not good at all and not worth the wait...
Excellent restaurant in all ways. Great decor, great food, great service. Hip spot
Great and tasty food, I like the vibes the spot has, and the staff members were very kind. I will surely come back.
They have a great atmosphere and the fish menu is absolutely fantastic. Love love love!
It brings the other French Aromas, further south than my native Region: Languedoc. Further, the time of "pieds noirs", even later. Harissa brought it back to me, and guess what, it was tremendously good with the french themes. Service is very good. The setting in East Village, very nice. Get out of Mid town for some amazing civilized food, this is the message. As expected in NYC, good wine is $$$.
Limited options for vegetarians, but I had the beet salad and it was fab. Cool place, chic is very welcome.
I was not prepared for the prolonged persistent loud and obvious sex noises playing during lunch with my mother. Otherwise, the atmosphere was charming. The staff was 100% accommodating, though I did not expect to find the bread of the cheeseburger and the fries to be so soaked in oil. Soup was perfect. Would go again with friends and ask menu questions.
Pretty place. Nice vibe. Good fodd.
