Bread is homemade in house which has a light crisp and fluffy inside! ** ** I ordered the 28-day aged rib eye which is excellent as well, but I would add more crisp sides and also a tad bit of sauce to this dish. Next, I had the pasta dish with the mussels-in it which was amazing and the perfect amount of creamy sauce in it. Lastly, I had another pasta dish which was excellent! Best meal I’ve had in a while. ** ** Dessert: ** ** Their dessert was amazing and can’t go wrong. ** ** Cocktails: ** Dauphine: Excellent- crisp and smooth ** ** Overall, their bartenders are extremely friendly and know how to make an excellent drink. ** ** Atmosphere: Atmosphere is very classy, romantic and calm. One of the best, fanciest (gluten-free and non-gluten-free) Italian restaurants in NYC! They make sure that the gluten-free Italian dishes taste and look just as good as the regular Italian dishes. Last year for our anniversary, we were surprised with extra mini desserts! The staff were incredibly attentive, the pianist playing in the background was excellent, and the atmosphere was very elegant :)

Great wine selection, live music, beautiful spot and great ambiance! Average food, ok service and long time of wait between courses. We spent more than four hours to finish a seven course dinner (Capitan’s menu) nothing on our menu was amazing but the black truffle dish is worth to try. I would recommend to order from the menu instead of doing the prefix option. They have potential but the experience was not worth $800.

A must go! Be ready for some amazing 5 or 7 course meal. You might find your dinner getting way too long, so, you can ask the staff to speed it up by reducing gap between the courses. Deserts are the best part!!

I went here for a group event. The service level was excellent, and the passed appetizers were delicious. However as the evening progressed, the food quality slipped a bit, possibly due to the large group. Steak was overcooked and a little tough, and pasta and dessert were not inspiring. I think the restaurant is probably amazing for many experiences, it was just a little off for mine.

We were there for my partner’s b’day. Interior and space was gorgeous like super upscale steakhouse kind. We were surprised by the questions we got; food we dislike, kinds of meat, fish, cheese we like/dislike, spicy, gamy and more. They tried to make dinner as close as our ‘type’ of food, very appreciative. We got captain’s tasting menu, only one pasta in 8 courses so it was not heavy at all. Food was wonderful. Only complain was a cheese, it was a very salty and dry tasteless cheese but they exchanged to something else right away. Overall, experience at Del Posto was excellent. I would go back for special occasion again.

Fantastic refined Italian food in a beautiful and elegant space. We had the 5 course menu which also included 2 amuse bouche and post dessert petit fours. The wine pairings were excellent and meant we tried wines we wouldn't usually try. The service was fantastic, attentive without being intrusive. I also liked the fact that the tables were well spaced, something we don't often get back home in London. It is not cheap but worth it for a special meal.

My dinner was $300 per person with out wine. I thought value was good for amount of black truffles that came with dinner. Left felling full and satisfied. Went here another time several years ago. Understand there is a new cook but bring back burnt lasagna it was really good one of reasons I came back.

Came here to celebrate a birthday. We opted for the Captain’s Menu - 8 course tasting menu. You will be SO full by the end. Service is very attentive. They make sure your glass is full and there is very good timing between the courses. We had 4 servers who consistently took care of us and each dish was explained. They answered any questions we had and even made suggestions. My favorite dish was the black truffle pasta dish (which included a $20 supp per person). It was just delicious. You also get a couple small tasty finger foods to start and the dessert was over the top. We got about 5 different bite sized desserts. I was done. The lighting was good and comfortable. But made it difficult to take pictures. Overall, I had an excellent meal. Although not necessarily a place I would say I need to come back to.

The only place we've ever spent more than $200 on lunch... From the minute you walk in the door, expect to be pampered. Everything here is done "just so." When you are seated, your chair will be pushed in for you. Your purse will be given its own short stool to lift it off the ground. If you go to the restroom, someone will show you the way, while someone else refolds your napkin artfully. You will be offered hot wet cloths to cleanse your hands before you even get a menu. A live pianist riffs on popular tunes by ear in the background. The food is some of the best in the city, and will be delivered to your table by a veritable swarm of servers, all at once. After each course, all the cutlery is cleared away and replaced anew, and consistent with the nature of your next course. There is an amuse bouche served, and a few extra little sweets are brought with dessert. So was it the most expensive lunch we've ever had? Without a doubt. But we wouldn't have changed a thing.

The atmosphere and service here are impeccable. The dishes were well-executed and enjoyable, but not memorable. We had the Captain's Menu, and while each course was delicious in the moment, it was easy to forget what we had already eaten. The service was amazing - we came to celebrate a birthday, and the staff really went out of their way to help us celebrate.

Sometimes, you just gotta go for it. Del Posto is opulent, theatrical, and over the top in all ways. The setting is luscious. The tasting menu is a triathalongish 4hrs. The food is an opera on every plate. Chef Larder deserves all his stars but gird your belly and your wallet for this extravaganza. But when all is said and done and the legions of plates are cleared, ohh the pastas. They are to die for

Whenever I go to a place with rave reviews and Michelin stars, I am very cautious to not let my perception be biased and primed beforehand.I love carpaccio. Usually restaurants hide undesired flavors of lower quality meat with too much of everything else that distracts from the star of that dish. This carpaccio was legit though.

Took my better half for her birthday. Holy cow it was so good. A little stuffy on the greeting and the staff do take themselves very seriously but nothing a good chat and a few jokes won’t hurt to get them to relax. We could have left after the bread and butter it was simply divine. The tasting menu is simply one delight after another. Well thought out and executed impeccably. The cost is on the high side but fully expected for the location, standard of service and food quality. Well worth a visit.

Came here with friend and had the delicious pork arepa. I had never had one before! The portion here was pretty big and we all walked away pretty satisfied. Pretty small place not a lot of seating. Also the restrooms is only one stall which was a bummer. Definitely come here to try the food! Service was decently fast and food was brought straight to our table.

I felt like asking for my time and money back. Extremely overpriced. The wine list is expensive beyond ridiculous. What the hell! The cheapest bottle ($50 or so) did not have a cork. I have had much better meals many, many times before in more festive surroundings, etc. The service is excellent, though, but DEFINITELY not worth your time or money.

Customer service was great. I love seafood and had several seafood options. The restaurant is lovely, and quiet. We took the city transportation from staten island so dont know how parking is. It is pricey but very worth it so take someone special. Wine and drinks variety is great too. They also have lunch specials if want to have a fine dining experience for a bit lesser price

My husband took me there for my birthday the other day and although I can’t say anything bad about the service and the atmosphere the food however was great but not out of this world great. For the record- we had the 8 course vegan tasting menu paired with wine. I get it that it’s hard to cook vegan but I expected a bit more from this kind of place. Even tho it’s nice that a Italian owed restaurant put a vegan menu together to begin with, I’m not sure if I’d go back to have the same menu for that price. For that kind of $ you can have a better meal somewhere else. The service was very attentive and sweet and the live piano music definitely gives it that romantic vibe that most of NY restaurants are missing. In that aspect, it’s quite a gem :)

Thoughtful prix-fixe menus provide a great overview to Del Posto's offerings, and you're treated to a wide variety of meats, seafood, and pasta with small "compliments of the chef" amuse-bouches sprinkled in. Sadly, I felt that some of the dishes were missing finishing touches (texture, flavour, etc.) that would make them feel more complete. Only perfect dish on this occasion was the olive oil-orange cake at the end. Good overall experience but would not revisit.

I can only comment on the lunch menu here, which is exceptionally good value, especially when compared to the dinner menu or eight course Captain's Menu. The atmosphere may seem austere to some, especially if you are used to the whiter than white industrial chic a lot of places have. This is very old school dark and feels like you are in an old bank building. I personally loved the atmosphere. I also loved that the tables were really well spaced apart and it was quiet. The lunch menu was outstanding.

I wish I could give more stars. If you're looking to be pampered with great food and the best care by the staff, this is your destination. Everything my wife and I ordered was perfectly cooked. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel like you're the only customer in the restaurant. I would have to write a short story to describe how incredible this place is.

A truly beautiful place inside. The service here is by far otherworldly! We went on a Monday night for my wife's 35th and we remarked all night long how really genuine and great the service is. Went to NYC for two weeks with my son and his mother. His mother and I both have worked at several different restaurants across the country. We basically ate ourselves around New York trying to hit every 3 and 4 Michelin star places. I have to tell you this place was AMAZING! Our servers name was Robyn and she was incredible. We had the tasting menu and I have to tell you one course was a ravioli and we of course paid the extra $$ for the shaved truffle and it had to be by far the best single bite of food that has ever crossed my lips! The 100 layer lasagna was delicious and the entire experience...the ambiance the decor the entire dining experience was amazing. If you are lucky enough to get to New York do yourself a favor and do not miss out on this place.

Del Posto is high end dining that caters to a gluten free crowd. This place is extremely thorough when it comes to contamination and I would recommend it to the most sensitive gluten free eaters. We had the 8 course tasting menu and it was all truly great with the pastas being the highlights. The bread (available gluten free) also comes with whipped butter that looks and tastes like burrata. Be careful not to fill up on this course.

Came here with my parents and husband to celebrate Christmas and my wedding anniversary. It was our first time eating at a Michelin Star restaurant. The service was amazing and the ambience is great, although it was rather loud. We dressed up as the dress code suggests, but we saw multiple people underdressed and even a few sweatshirts. Not the restaurant's fault, but it definitely affected the ambience. My favorite parts of the evening were the cocktails and the gnocchi. I don't think I've ever had a better cocktail, and I will I had a second helping of the gnocchi. My family really enjoyed the spaghetti, as well. The only downside for me was ordering the steak as my main course. My dad and I were both very underwhelmed, especially considering the price. My parents chose to experience the wine pairing. That service was incredible! I will say that they served mostly white or blush, so if you prefer red I would recommend just choosing your own wine. Overall, enjoyed our time so much and very much appreciated the free dessert for our anniversary. I would just recommend staying away from the steak.

When you walk in the inside of this restaurant is beautiful. They have a coat check after first doors then you walk through to the main entry. The service from when you enter to when you leave is the best. If you want to get a drink at the bar before dinner it has a great area and recommend that since there isn’t much besides Chelsea market in the area. Outside of the set menu they bring out a little treat to start the meal and bread/butter. The butter looks like cheese and almost tastes like it so much that someone at our table ate the whole thing! Ha. Food is great, but smaller portions. If you are looking for not only good food, but very upscale and fancy meal this is the place. Dress code is business with jacket recommended, but I just came in slacks and a button up. Great experience and service!

Such an amazing place. It is very dim with soft lighting and has such a great ambiance. The wait staff was professional and polite. The food was amazing. Having very little expectations from my observations of the exterior, I was breath taken the moment I stepped inside. The place was lightly dimmed with orange tinted lights all throughout perfectly accenting the beautiful interior of this sophisticated venue. Because I arrived early for my corporate dinner, I asked the front desk if they would hold my gift for my boss and they were happy to accommodate. Afterwards, I waited by the bar and looked through the many interesting drink options that I never heard of. The bartender came over and asked me what I usually drink to help provide a recommendation. I told him that I love drinking “the last word” and how only a few places that make it in the city. Although it was not on the menu, he happily made the last word for my coworker and I and it was very delicious considering the ingredients were very high quality. One of the most memorable moments of the whole dining experience was when the bartender broke his stiff yet professional demeanor when shaking the mixed drink, vigorously. It was so unexpected that my coworker and I almost cracked up, but we really appreciated the element of surprise and the gift of subtle laughter. While we were waiting, I asked about the bottles on the top shelf still being somewhat new to sophisticated drinks. The bartender gave us an elaborate overview of the drinks and the history behind each one. I think he was well aware that we had no intention of buying a $400-600 dollar shot, but the fact that he treated us with respect and went above and beyond definitely added to the dining experience and I even learned something new. Last but not least, we transition to the actual dining tables. There are 2 options, one where you choose a 5 course meal based on a set menu or the captains menu where you tell the server what you don’t like and they curate an 8 course meal based on our preferences. My boss, coworker and I decided to go with the captain’s menu. I can’t really go into the detail of each dish because it was a dining experience like I’ve never had before. The different bursts of flavors were like fireworks in my mouth each providing a new perspective of what I perceived to be a familiar dish. Each dish came with a wine pairing and a very descriptive explanation. Although everything was delicious there was one dish where they included olives which I listed as one of my disliked ingredients. But that alone did not ruin the overall dining experience. If I can summarize everything, the subtle elements of surprise made dining at Del Posto unique and memorable. Would highly recommend! Warning very strict dress code policy. Restaurant did not mention any dress code when I made the reservation nor did the person that called to confirm the reservation. My husband was wearing shorts and were turned away. So we had to go back to our hotel and so he could change and then schlep back. The food was really good...its a good place for a quiet dinner date. The food was better than the atmosphere.

CRUISE-SHIP DESIGN clearly inspired the build-out of Del Posto’s multiple level venue. The move is adept, since the adaption hides just how big the restaurant is and domesticates what could feel like a gilded warehouse. That said, Del Porto shares little else with the industrialized feeding systems on major cruise vessels. The food was grand and the service superior.

You’ll never forget the flavors, the presentation, the well thought out menu as well as the incredible Italian wine selection. We chose the 5 course tasting and an amazing bottle of vino selected by the talented Sommelier Joe. We began with the beef carpaccio appetizer and the corona pasta and penne bolognese both were incredible. Must mention the crusty warm bread served with a burrata butter. OMG. And the chef began teasing our palette with a cantaloupe soup.

Another triumph from the Bastianich family. They nail all aspects of a successful and enjoyable restaurant experience, a good time and a great meal are guaranteed - just bring your appetite. A chilled melon soup, a mesclun salad with an umami-rich dressing, tortellini with corn, an amazing penne with the richest ragu, tuna that melts like butter, pont Reyes blue cheese with a koek-sister like honeyed brioche left us complete, and a complex nebbiolo from a comprehensive Italian wine cellar topped everything. The staff were helpful and attentive, the sommelier was knowledgeable and guided us appropriately. Del Posto is an excellent restaurant, no wasted calories here.

I had my 60th birthday party at Del Posto (40+ people and it was fabulous) and have had dinner there multiple times, with several guests. Everyone always loved everything! I totally disagree with Pete Wells in his criticism about wait staff. They were extremely pleasant and professional. I was pleased that that were not looking to become my "friend" and did not find anyone who seemed cool or removed as he insinuated. Fine service by a caring staff. Food divine. If I was deserted on an island and had a choice of one food forever, it would be pasta from Del Posto.

Great Italian cuisine with impressive interior and service. The price is expensive but the quality of food and service makes it worth it. Would recommend the place for a special occasions or important business meetings.

This place was amazing! Where should i begin? Came here for mothers day in 2015 and 2 weeks later for my bf birthday (and the host remembered us). The experience was just perfect. The service was immaculate, im gluten free and they offered me everything in gluten free dessert , bread. They made me so happy! You have to pay if you want PERFECT SERVICE. I haven't been anywhere else that would give me this type of service. I can't believe it's been 4 years! I have to go back.

Del Posto is an experience all must feel. As you enter this fine romantic and elegant space your heart feels the love. You are welcomed with grace and appreciation for joining this incredible chef as she shares her gift of art of dining with you. You’ll never forget the flavors, the presentation, the well thought out menu as well as the incredible Italian wine selection. We chose the 5 course tasting and an amazing bottle of vino selected by the talented Sommelier Joe. We began with the beef carpaccio appetizer and the corona pasta and penne bolognese both were incredible. Must mention the crusty warm bread served with a burrata butter. OMG. And the chef began teasing our palette with a cantaloupe soup.

Del Poston is a really good Italian restaurant. They have amazing atmosphere and design inside the restaurant. The customer service is amazing. They have a lot of traditional Italian meals and this is how it should be. The only thing is that they have really high prices for some meals. Enjoy.

Food tasted very good for a picky eater. The Insalata di LATTUGHE e ERBE di Stagione was quite interesting, vinegar was extremely strong but I liked it. BRANZINO Sotto Sale con Polpo e Patate was very tasty. We also ordered sea bass and mousse, they both tasted great. (I don’t normally like desert to be this sweet-) anyway, we had a wonderful experience here!

With so many great choices this place is the best. I went with my wife for lunch and it was amazing. Great food and an incredible atmosphere. we did the wine paring and it was totally worth it. We passed on the white truffles...... next time. We can't wait to go back again.

One of the best restaurants I have been to in nyc. We had the captain’s meal with a bottle of red wine. Starting from the wine recommendations, the service was incredible. It was an 8 course meal, and by the end we were not able to decide which dish was the best. Coz all of them were! They were very considerate of our choices and allergies and the dishes were customized for us. I was served octopus as one of the entree's, which I wasn't a fan of. I told the server and the chef actually got me another dish to make up for it. It was divine!! To end our experience, we wanted to see the wine cellar and they gave us a special tour. It was spectacular and I did not want to leave that room. Del Posto is an experience! Everyone should go there if you are okay spending the $$$$.

We came here with friend and had the delicious pork arepa. I had never had one before! The portion here was pretty big and we all walked away pretty satisfied. Pretty small place not a lot of seating. Also the restrooms is only one stall which was a bummer. Definitely come here to try the food! Service was decently fast and food was brought straight to our table.

Grand style dining with an updated Menu. A neighbor treated us to a lovely dinner out. We had a fabulous meal. The only possible issues were (a) the location - not convenient to us and (b) it was extremely expensive. That said, we all loved our meals. The menu was fresh and updated without being too fussy. They were very accommodating with respect to dietary restrictions and preferences.

Absolutely delicious. Laid back, very casual and lightning fast service. Less than a minute walk from our hotel we came on a recco from the front desk @ The Omni. The crisp oysters w/ prosciutto, ricotta gnocchi and Dungeness crab sandwich were all phenomenal.

The service here was exceptional. The prix fixe lunch menu was also exceptional. Complementary tidbits offered with the courses. The ambiance / decor was wonderful and there was a gentleman playing soothing tunes on the piano. The bathrooms were very nice here also. Price was $$$$ -- about $60 - $80 per person.
