Very exotic food and great wine selection. The service was grand and ambience opulent. Wonderful experience! Highly recommended. Pricy but well worth it! Everything from the first amuse bouche to the last bit of Chef complimentary dessert bites was amazing.

Impeccable service and great atmosphere. Daniel, the maitre D, took care of us from the beginning until the end of the meal. The whole staff is really knowledgeable and the food was great! They have a lot of surprises in between courses. I’m still dreaming of their madeleines! Definitely a great experience. We will be back!

Surely the best in Manhattan. Excellent service and food in a french challenging tradition. Everything was perfect in the four course meal with wine pairing. Elegant and amazing.

Michalina Sanderson

What can I say? Sublime. Service was impeccable - the servers do there best to move quietly and imperceptibly. Daniel Boulud's food is just so pure and full of taste. I had a short rib and tenderloin entrée - there was no steak knife... Not necessary since a butter knife could've cut it! Of course, save this for special occasions or expense accounts because it's up there.

Gracy Marte

Daniel is a New York City fine dining classic. Save it for a special occasion and eat in the salon, where things are a bit more laid back.

Thomas Warsop

Great, elegant meal. Ask for a tour of the kitchens. This is a very well-run operation. I highly recommend the Petit Pois, the sole, and the Wagyu strip steak. All excellent. And, thank you to Daniel Bouloud for stopping by our table to say hello and make the evening even more special.

Daniel is about serious food, serious service, and serious wine. I am not using the word 'serious' in a derogatory way. This is not a stuffy pretentious place as some reviewers have written. Rather, it is a serious staff doing everything possible to give the customer the very best dining experience. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. If you want the best, then hold a gun to your credit card and book yourself a reservation. That's the short of it. Read on if you care for some details. First, the service. The entire staff is completely dedicated to ensuring that *every customer* is happy (not just a few) and they do this by paying attention to every last detail, no matter how small. They are pleasant. They are attentive. They are knowledgeable. They are accommodating. They are complete professionals and among the best front of the house staff I have encountered at a restaurant of this (ultra high) caliber. These are people who understand that if you order tea at the bar, that when the first pot is finished, they quietly brew another pot (without asking), and keep pouring tea when your cup runs empty, quietly move the pot to the dining room when you go there, continue to pour tea throughout the meal (always hot and from a fresh brew as needed), and never ask you if you want a fresh pot. Sounds simple, doesn't it? Believe it or not, it's not all that easy to move so seamlessly. They recognize what you want, when you want it, and they don't question it. Ever. Second, the food. This is serious food (again, I am not using 'serious' in a derogatory manner). Seriously prepared. Seriously refined. Seriously beautiful. Seriously excellent. What is so difficult at this end of the spectrum is to bring dish after dish after dish without having at least o ne or two relative duds. The diner's standards and expectations are so high that there is inevitably going to be something that is not up to par. But I was simply amazed that Executive Chef Jean-Francois Bruel and Chef de Cuisine Eddy Leroux were able to keep going through so many courses without missing a beat, without any duds, leaving no question in my mind that they are masters of their domain. In this kind of take-no-prisoners environment where only the best is good enough, it is always difficult for the pastry chef to hold up their end of the bargain. But Mr. Boulud has solid backing with Executive Pastry Chef Ghaya Oliveira who cranks out desserts that the same Everest-like elevation as Bruel and Leroux. Third, the wine. Daniel's cellar is one of the best. Anywhere. Period. The depth, both horizontally and vertically is mind boggling. But restaurant wine is not just about what's on the wine list; it is about the staff's knowledge of that wine list, and how to pair those wines with the output from Daniel's kitchen. Head Sommelier Raj Vaidya (yes, a restaurant of this caliber has multiple Somms on the floor on any given night) is truly a master of his domain. He has the knowledge of the cellar. He has the knowledge of the wines. He has the knowledge of wine in general. He has the knowledge of the vocabulary to talk about the wine at any customer's level. He has the industry cred (I have talked with several others in the industry about him and they have a lot of respect). And he can pair those wines like no one else I've seen. You might think that with such an established restaurant that Chef Daniel Boulud would be no where in sight. Not so. When I visited he was speaking with patrons dressed in his chef whites. I can only believe that his continuing active role in the enterprise helps to maintain the high standards. Daniel is a place you go for the absolutely highest experience.

Perfection in every way.

Keith Poole

The meal began with a cold shrimp appetizer, followed by a raw fluke dish. Continued with several other courses including langoustine, frito miso, sautéed fish, shortbread, and wagyu beef.Dessert was definitely a highlight for me! They have a pretty fabulous cheese cart (cheese is a food group in my eyes) which we made a selection of 5 cheeses from. Followed with a play on cherry pie, a chocolate mousse, and Madeline's.

Dr Mohammad J Albanna

Amazing service and the food was to die for!

Sally Lynn MacDonald

Impeccable service, food, presentation. Sincerely one of the best dining experiences of my life.

An impeccable restaurant offering everything you could expect from one that earned 2 Michelin stars. From start to finish, the meal was flawless. Your table will be taken care of by a large team of servers that effortlessly blend into the background of your experience. Wine list is extensive and well curated. Would highly recommend wine pairings; the sommelier does an excellent job balancing each bite. This restaurant is a real treat.

Erin Walsh

The food is excellent, but the hospitality is superb. We can't wait to return.

Emily Olson

Nice place for tasty french food. Visited Sat afternoon. The bill was appropriate.

We had a magical night at Daniel's. Thanks for the help with my marriage proposal. The service was outstanding and we felt very comfortable. See you soon for our anniversary. ;)

Tamara Wright

Superb! We spent approximately 3.5 hours enjoying the 7 course tasting menu. Every bite was delicious. Daniel was one of the best meals of my life..so far. Well deserving of their 2 stars. We opted not to do the wine pairing. Our reservation was at 9:45. Our party of four had an aperitif and 2 bottles of wine and a port.

Malvina Novikova

The best restaurant i have been in NYC. Food is excellent service is perfect to the details, very elegant atmosphere

Beau Motley

Best meal I've ever had. We had the tasting course and it was memorable. So many ingredients packed into small bites and working harmoniously to please the senses. It was a birthday to remember. The staff and service was just as fine as the food, and I saw the Chef himself breeze by at one point too.

An evening of epicurean delight and wonderment on the artistry at the dinner table. No wonder it is the best.

Jorge Odeh Yarad

Really expensive but great food, great service and great presentation.

Elliot Sabs

This is an amazing french restaurant. I came here with my girlfriend last weekend and we had an amazing dinner with amazing food.

Violet Belt

My experience at Daniel is pretty indescribable. From the moment I walked in the door, the staff was incredibly kind, understanding, and all around amazing. The person I was dining with had dietary restrictions that they had called ahead about, and were able to enjoy a full 7 course meal with me with their specifications. The staff, particularly Myron Garcia, were welcoming and treated us like family- enhancing our dining experience exponentially. The food was amazing, both from the regular and adjusted plates. I was dining in celebration of my recent graduation from high school, and the chef personally gave us a dessert on the house for that reason, more than I ever could've wanted or thought of. This restuarant deserves every star it can possibly earn. If you're unsure- I'd advise to just go. The experience as a whole is completely worth any amount of money or time exchanged.

This is probably my favorite restaurant in NYC and that's saying a lot. They have amazing cocktails and a tavern area which is first come first serve. Here they serve a la carte options like the famous burger and a rotating seasonal menu. They also have a formal Michelin starred dining room that has a Prix fixe dining option. Service in both areas of the restaurant is 5 star and I make it a point to visit every time I'm in the area.

JoAnn Banks

Beautiful restaurant, impeccable service, delicious food. What else does one need? A deliciously carmelized canelle to take home!

Amazing Cat lovers Club

Amazing restuarant in New York ever.

Ian Tyack

Absolutely impeccable. Everything from the perfectly presented, wonderful food, to the fantastic service. There is a reason why they have several Michelin stars.

kevin Smith

Wonderful ambiance! Staff very courteous, delicious menu. Pricey but I think well worth it!

Jacob Garza

From start to finish, this was an amazing experience, from the bar to the main dining room - everything was outstanding. The food was over the top - I enjoyed my first course the best, but everything was as expected from Daniel, including the presentation, so I wasn’t disappointed with the other courses. The service was just impeccable (at the bar and in the dining room), and not once did we feel rushed, nor did we feel that the timing of our courses was off in any way. They are also able to accommodate vegetarians like myself, as they have a full vegetarian menu, so I was grateful for all the options I had. It is not cheap though, so I won't be able to come as often as I would like... but if I could, I would. Next time, we want the Skybox!

Paul Markakis

This was the most incredible culinary experience of my life. I did the seven course tasting menu, with an additional truffle course added in. Everything was superb. The staff has mastered the art of hospitality and it showed from top to bottom. I can't wait to come back.

Marian Gidea

If you want a high-thrill, this is not the place -- go to a roller-coaster instead. Because the food is delicious in a gentle, intimate way. It is not the most exotic, crazily extravagant food. It is more like going into your own garden, picking the freshest and most flavorful ingredients, and cooking them in your own kitchen with love and care (only if you knew how to cook really really well!).

Kelwin Heron

Superb restaurant. Had an amazing experience here with my wife and kids. Place looks and feels classy and the service was fantastic as well. Meals were cooked perfectly. Deserving of my 5 stars

I moved from New York seven years ago, but return at least once a year. We are well-traveled, experienced diners, familiar with the finest restaurants in the City. The one is Daniel spot where we never fail to dine The cuisine is exceptional: a feast for the eyes and palate. The gorgeous dining room, with its high ceilings, stunning appointments and beautiful floral arrangements is a blend of current style and classic elegance. The service is impeccable I am an omnivore and my wife is as close to vegetarian can get. Every time we return to Daniel, we are enraptured by each vegan as a Course, which we savor with immeasurable appreciation Make no mistake. This is an expensive are in the market for a restaurant. But if you supreme gastronomic experience, you would be hard pressed to find any better than this.

Rongcheng Lin

We reserved this restaurant for dinner about 1 week ago. We canceled the reservation at the Morning due to flight delay. We called the restaurant, the told us that we are going to be charges for that. It turned out I was charged for $400 at last without having anything from this restaurant.

Joelle Hochberg

Wonderful evening at Daniel's for a fabulous family dining experience ! Thanks to the boss and staff for this great evening !

Eddie L Wright II

The most expensive dinner I ever ate. So what does $2,000 meal, I'm sorry experience (4 person) taste like, you ask? Well first of all you go to Daniels because you can. You expect to pay a ridiculous amount of money because it a michelin star restaurant. After you resign yourself to paying that much money you can enjoy the rest of the night. We ate the tasting menu with a wine budget of $500. Out of the 7 dishes I would say 5 were awesome on 2 we're just ok. The sommelier was excellent and even though we had a wine budget he was able to accommodate us with wines for less and they were unbelievable. I really appreciated that. The service was everything you expect at that price point and the location was upscale. Warning , if you want the full experience you need to be sitting in the main dinning room

Aylmer Turner

Modern and sleek restaurant with delectable food menu. Best collection of drinks and wine, tasty desserts and excellent customer service.

S Wun

Excellent evening spent tasting great food - feast for all senses!

Dave Mandelbaum

Went for a business dinner. We were 13 instead of 12 so we were a little squashed and the access to the far side of the table was over our heads. The food was great and except for the reaching over our heads the service was very good. Overall very recommended but make sure you make the reservation for the right number.

Keith Cook

Beautiful environment. Excellent service. Interesting menu. The veal was quite delicious but ridiculously priced for a portion the size of a silver dollar, if that size. And the birthday cake I requested for this special occasion (they even asked for the correct spelling of my guests name) never arrived. food. is fabulous wine list excellent service better expect to spend but expect to be treated well there is no rush take your time forget your in the middle of the city for awhile

Steven Margolin

While technically precise and served in an elegant dining room, the food was uninspired and marred by borderline incompetent service and an extremely cramped table. I would think at the price point, I should not have to spend the evening knocking knees with my brother or have a waiter who thinks "new world" wine means the same thing as new vintages.

Levi Kugel

The experience, to its finest details, was absolutely spectacular. The food is obviously incredible, and I’d particularly suggest the 4-course meal, however what impressed me the most was the staff, their expertise in making us feel welcome. Everything from the way we were seated to the manner in which we were served, it was an impeccable display service perfection. Did I mention that the food is divine? Absolutely divine. Your plate becomes a canvas for artwork that might seem beautiful at first, but is quickly dwarfed by the elegant flavors it imparts onto your pallet. It was a fantastic way to celebrate a birthday and a meal that will not be easily forgotten. I will definitely be back.

Victoria Peteri

I always eat here with my family and friends. The food is great and we love most the interior designs of this place. It is so classical and upscale.

Sarah Reed

Great food and service, total must try

Benjamin Haws

Modern twist on classic french cuisine. The food and service are perfect, as expected. Yes, men have to wear a jacket; I wore a suit. The atmosphere and decor of the main dining room are classical and upscale. Didn't have a chance to visit the bar, but did scope it out while leaving and it looked fun. Definitely a destination within the restaurant I would like to return to. While eating dinner, Chef Daniel visited our table. This is just one of the details that sets this restaurant apart.

Larissa Trost

Daniel is so much more than a restaurant, it is an entire experience. From the beautiful, classy dining room to the attentive and kind servers to the unbelievable food and drink, everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the feeling that comes with an evening at Daniel. The wait staff worked tirelessly to make sure our evening was special and perfect. We ordered the more expensive wine pairing (which I would highly, highly recommend). Learning about the wine, how it paired with the dish, and where it came from was so enjoyable and I would argue just as much the highlight of the night as the food was. The food was like no other I have eaten. I can't put into words how perfect and delicious it was. We went here for a combo Birthday/Anniversary meal and are considered flying out to NYC every year just to celebrate at this wonderful establishment. Thank you Daniel for a night we'll remember forever!

Justin Latham

Daniel is as much an experience as it is a restaurant. This was some of the best food I've ever had. They have either the 4 course or 7 course menus. We had the 4 course and each dish was exceptional. Even the bread and butter we got at the beginning was special. We also had so much dessert that we couldn't eat all though I tried. I am not a wine connoisseur, but they have a huge selection of fancy wines. I had a glass of reisling and it was great. It was our anniversary and we received souvenir menus with our orders printed, a very nice touch. The staff top to bottom was exceptional and were kind enough to take photos for us and even offered to call us a cab. All in all as close to a perfect dining experience you can get. Dinner took about 3 hours (it did not seem that long) and jackets are required for gents. Reservations are a must, they book them about 3 months in advance.

Eugene Mancuso

Great service, beautiful ambiance, food not what it was years ago. Very expensive, not going back

My wife and I flew up to NYC this past weekend and had an early dinner at Daniel. It was her birthday and our anniversary celebration. The best dining experience, food, and service we have ever received. We lived in NYC a few years ago and always wanted to come here but never got the chance. I'm glad we finally made it happen and it lived up (and more) to our expectations of one of the worlds top restaurants. We had to catch a show and they were very accommodating to our schedule. Each dish was amazing, perfectly timed and we finished with time to spare. I greatly enjoyed the wine pairing as well. Amazing staff. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a "wow" dining experience. Thank you!

Frank Bruno

My family and I went here since we heard such great things about this restaurant, and they lived up to their expectation. Food was wonderful! Deserving 5 stars!

This is my best decision to book my husband’s birthday dinner at Daniel. Everything is magical! The food alone is beyond words. We especially appreciate the add-on details: they not only served us a birthday dessert, but also gifted us a printed menu with a happy birthday wish. Just when we thought the day couldn’t be better, we met chef Daniel Boulud on our way out! He’s so friendly and took a photo with us. We love this memorable night!

Drake Williams

Refined setting and impeccable service. We recommend this to young couples but pay attention to the budget

Keila Hart

My finance, and I had the best experience at Daniel. From entering through the revolving door to getting a booth overlooking the entire dining area, the service was impeccable from the start. The courses were large enough to satisfy, different and flavorful – with complexities I haven’t seen elsewhere. The drinks, albeit pricey, were very well crafted by the mixologist, who made me something not on the menu per my request. The servers surprised us with treats and details, always smiling. We were the youngest in the place, which might have been a nice change for the staff as well. For Jessica’s birthday, they went above and beyond – making this night most memorable. We will be back!

cowsarejustfood

Everything but the jackets for gentlemen policy about this joint is spectacular (who really wants to sit for three hours eating in a three piece). But hey. Everything else is glorious. From wine list - regular, and fancy-dan - cocktails, whiskies. To each goddam beautiful course. Great service, chat and advice from the fella from Austin too. Grand!

Boaz Udi

Very excellent service with excellent food. I wish for more vibrant flavors.

Greg Turchiano

My wife and I were celebrating her 50th birthday and our 25th anniversary. So for this very special occasion my wife wanted to to here. We sat in the lounge which is more casual, no jacket required but not the full experience of the dining room. The presentation is really something to behold. Little food with big flavor. But something was lost in the service. Long periods of time between courses and perhaps that's part of the experience but when your wine doesnt arrive promptly and the waiter returns to the table to ask you if you would like wine with your meal (again) you get a a sense of where you are on the totem pole. It's a very expensive outing and unfortunately in my humble opinion the food and service were not commensurate. Not bad, above average even, just not $400 for a party of 2 for 2 courses (and no desert) good. Atmosphere is one of upper crust, a little stiff. A beautiful space as you would expect. We passed on the tasting menu and ordered 2 courses, 4 dishes Flageolet - A flageolet bean soup with lobster, artichoke Veloutè, lemon thyme cream, black garlic and confit carrots, that was really good. Escargo, Sea scallops and Grilled sword fish. These dishes were very good, in all honesty I'm not qualified to critique them. Just Joe plumber trying to experience the good life for one night and coming up a little short. We work really hard for our money, this place is for peeps who have expendable income. My wife believes I was generous with 3 stars.......I'm glab we had an opportunity to try this well know restaurant but will have to find somewhere else for our next occasion.

Mathew Diaz

Very exotic food and great wine selection. The service was grand and ambience opulent. Wonderful experience! Highly recommended. Pricy but well worth it! Everything from the first amuse bouche to the last bit of Chef complimentary dessert bites was amazing.

Katrina Smith May

The best dining experience I have ever had.

Alex Liu

Amazing dinner! This was probably the best meal I’ve ever had (and it better have been for how much we paid!). If you want to take someone out for an experience of a meal, you’ll get that here. The space was well-lit and quiet enough that you could have a conversation at actual speaking volume. The room itself was tall and elegant. The waitstaff were all really nice and made us feel special, asking if we wanted more bread, or if we wanted anything else to drink. And the food! Every dish (and the amuse bouche and petit fours) was delicious. Highlights of our evening were the bread basket (we couldn’t stop eating the brioche), scallops, and steak. The only things I would change were all nitpicky points. The bathroom faucets could have been a little higher up from the sink drain; the ratio of crisp crust to soft scallop could have been adjusted in favor of tenderness; the pork could have been a touch more moist; the knives could have cut more easily; and the chocolate used in the petit fours could have been brighter or fruitier or really just anything more interesting to play off the fillings better, instead of being a standard mellow all-purpose chocolate. When you’re serving food that’s already so good, you get the double-edged benefit of having perfection be your standard. Would I come back? Absolutely, for another special celebration, and maybe save up some more so we can try the wine pairings as well.

Christine Tse

Every bit as amazing as reputation precedes. Loved the food, wine and service. Do not miss out on the cheese cart. Pascale knows what he's doing

Stephany Feijoo

Dear Chef, I was dissappointed during our visit this past weekend. The food was okay but I was expecting more from the service and attention, especially from a 2** Michelin star restaurant. We had the Chef’s Tasting Menu and the ~$225 wine pairing. 1. I had to ask for the cadence of the plates being brought out to be spaced out more. Couldn’t even finish the wine and the next plate was already out 2. Bread crumbs were not cleaned out from the table 3. The champagne was definitely not top quality 4. My partner and I both got sick after this dinner Hope this feedback is taken into consideration given the great reputation Chef Daniel and his restaurants have.

Rosie

Absolutely immaculate, every dish better than the next. The service was impeccable, will remember this meal for the rest of our lives. Can not recommend more.

Ashley Russell

Perfection in everything! Great food and wine choices. Service is exceptional. Such a friendly and knowledgeable team. They make you feel so special. Always a pleasure to dine at this restaurant with my family.

Mouamar Arnous

Very fancy restaurant, be ready to be blown away. Describing is nothing like reality, you most book and try it

Gurleen

One of the best meals you will have when in NYC. Excellent service and the food is unique and delicious. @traveleen_gurl

Jlem Terrason

Very nice location, the inside is amazing . They have good food and its very fresh . I got to say Daniel has the best cocktails in NYC

Fay Luo

Atmosphere is good, service was great, food were okay, dessert were disappointed. The waiters watching you and provide you with the service quickly even before you think of asking. It was great, we were greet the moment we walked in. The food didn't wow me or maybe I have too much expectation for this two star Michelin restaurant. I have crustacean allergy. Many other Michelin restaurant were willing to switch out one or two ingredients or modify the dish for me but Daniel refused. The servicer claimed the dish were pre-cook. If there food are not freshly made, I don't think I will ever go back. Last, the dessert were disappointing. I could not taste any layer of favors other than sugary.

Michael B

What an amazing experience! We we're treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. This was an experience we will never forget. The food is not only delicious but beautiful and edgy at the same time. The desserts were divine and just kept coming. The first thing we tried was fresh bread and an assortment of salts that let me know we were in for a real treat. It was our annuvannive and they made sure we had a memorable night. We even got to go on a tour of the kitchen which was extremely clean and we'll ran. If you are in New York you really must try Daniel! You definitely won't be disappointed.

Jean Kuni

Had the tasting menu. Everything was amazing. The food, service, vibe, deco, and the surprise. Will come back for a la carte soon :)

Nick Yu

Here for a wine event so cannot comment on regular dinner service. But the decor really needs updating. Eleven Madison,a much younger restaurant did a refresh.

Daniel has excellent food. Fabulous food. That's where the positive stops. The staff is professional, though we felt judged and 'poor' for the environment. We couldn't properly enjoy the meal as we had hoped given a very stuffy and uptight environment. I firmly believe in a professional, sophisticated atmosphere, though not at the cost of the experience. I'm happy to wear the mandatory jacket for men (required for enjoying your meal in the dining room). However, the lack of personality expressed by the staff made the whole experience ordinary and rather bleak. The cost is high for your average plebian, I won't complain about cost - if you're looking for cheaper food in NYC options are bountiful. Unless you must try Daniel for the Michelin stars & relative status, I would keep your wallet closed. There are other restaurants with far better service that deserve your business, billionaire or pauper.

Greg Ranallo

For us, this was a once in a lifetime experience and nothing was lacking. We enjoyed the four course meal with wine pairings. It was as much a work of art as a superb meal. The service was impeccable, professional but yet warm and friendly. It didn't feel stuffy. Overall amazing.

Wine Dine

Another die hard favorite you can't go wrong for that special occasion. Such special service. Cocktail mixologists created a unique lavender herb mix for me. The dinner was artfully prepared and the Happy Birthday personalized menu was such a nice touch.

Jacque King

It was the most amazing experience. The food was top notch and the service was superb.

Rabrakha Rab

Huge portions! We had to share our pasta. La has some really good Italian food and this one is a winner. Right next to the beach friendly staff. Only thing is no parking. Not really the restaurants fault. But they should have valet.

Lesley Telfer

Had dinner with friends. Menu is perfect, something for everyone. Service was awesome. Will be back definitely!

Maria Luisa Grossi

Really amazing food and service. Recommended to celebrate special events. They had an extra gift for our special event.

Sara Campbell

One of our favorite places to stop when we are on vacation. Dont miss out! You wont be disappointed!

Noam Samson

A bucket list restaurant. Everything was nothing short of perfect.

Krishna Patel

Food is average and extremely over priced for what you get. Bill was approx $800 for me and my husband and then they don’t accept a tip less than 20%. They even came up to us as asked us to increase the tip!! We had to pay a tip over $160!

Annette Emanuel

The food and the service are sublime. Well worth the price tag, food art with taste..

Vincent Wheaton

A true dining experience. Upscale french cuisine with a modern twist - very classy and elegant space. Attentive service and impeccable drinks. A must.

Shushan Anriol

Places like Daniel are the type of restaurants I'm saving my 5stars for ! In the heart of Manhattan , this place is a mesmerising combination of elegance , art and high french cuisine . It is top top from the second you enter till the very last moment you leave . Made a reservation in advance and visited the lounge with a friend while in NYC to have a drink and try one of their famous desserts . The place is sophisticated and at the same time can be highlighted for a super level of service - full of attention , smiles, care and politeness. Will be hard to find something that doesn't look perfect . Ambience is very classy , despite the tables are very close to each other at the lounge , it doesn't really bother since feels like people coming here have the same vibe as the place itself . Now the food - ok , that's not just a food , it's an art work with an artsy presentation. While we were waiting for our dessert - the lady sitting at the table next to us ordered her dessert which already looked too pretty to touch wasn't enough - they took out a "perfume bottle " and sprayed it on the dessert- Imagine our surprise when turned out it's a special alcohol that highlights the flavour better . I've been to many nice places - haven't seen anything alike , oh la la !!!)))) Considering this is a french place - portions are expected to be small and look the way you don't really wanna touch lol - too beautiful. But they gave us handmade chocolate and other treats during our time - which made us feel like little kids getting nice gifts from Santa ))) That night was an unforgettable experience full of excitement. The place deserves it's micheline star that should be held with a big proud. I'll make sure to find time to visit it again next time I'm in NYC .

Top Notch service, food was better than any other 2 Michelin ive had thus far, somelier was very knowledgeable and gave great wine recs for our meal.

Beto Alberto

Celebrated my 10th year anniversary there. They made us feel very special. It was worth every penny. We had never been to a restaurant this fancy and pricey, but we left very very pleased. Thank you!

Michiko Reindorf

Blown away by the service from the moment we walked in. One of the best in New York City and it’s easy to see why they have two Michelin Stars. Looking forward to going back soon!

Malcolm Darling

Very exotic food and great wine selection. The service was grand and ambience opulent. Wonderful experience! Highly recommended. Pricy but well worth it! Everything from the first amuse bouche to the last bit of Chef complimentary dessert bites was amazing.

Abby Ellsworth

This is one of my favorite restaurants! The service and atmosphere are one of excellence and perfection. The food is consistently excellent with layers of flavor and impeccable presentation. There is an amazing wine selection to compliment the amazing food.

We were seated in the lounge which if a person is looking for a quieter, more intimate setting, this area is perfect. Our waiters were Greg and Pascal and they couldn't have made us feel more welcome. They were attentive but not intrusive and just a delight to converse with. Our meal was fabulous ~ smaller portions which we both liked and imbued with the very best flavors. For these reasons alone, we would rate Daniel 5 Stars however throughout the evening, we were treated with extra little tasty surprises which we thoroughly enjoyed (you'll have to go to find out what they are!).

Amazing experience!! My husband and I come here every year on our anniversary and it is worth the trip.

I enjoyed my meal at Daniel, though I'm not entirely sure it was worth the money we paid for it. We've been to a lot of high end restaurants in the city and have paid as much in the past, but it felt like our meal at Daniel was too pricey, given that it was only three courses plus extras. It might have been because it was a special Mother's Day meal instead of the regular menu, but I can get way more courses, at the same quality or better at a place like Gabriel Kreuther. That all said, the food was good, the service was fine and the ambiance great; my expectations were maybe a little bit high because I left wanting more.

Gene Lewis

One of NYC's best. Just lovely and classic. And so beautiful. If you have a special occasion or a night where money doesn't really matter... this is a good contender.

Mark Simpson

We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary at Daniels restaurant. The food was amazing, the service was excellent with a sincere personal touch. The part that made this so special was receiving a celebration cake and personalized commemorative menus. A big thank you to all the staff at Daniels restaurant for making our evening extra special.

My wife and I moved from New York seven years ago, but return at least once a year. We are well-traveled, experienced diners, familiar with the finest restaurants in the City. The one spot where we never fail to dine is Daniel. The cuisine is exceptional: a feast for the eyes and palate. The gorgeous dining room, with its high ceilings, stunning appointments and beautiful floral arrangements is a blend of current style and classic elegance. The service is impeccable. I am an omnivore and my wife is as close to vegan as a vegetarian can get. Every time we return to Daniel, we are enraptured by each course, which we savor with immeasurable appreciation. Make no mistake. This is an expensive restaurant. But if you are in the market for a supreme gastronomic experience, you would be hard pressed to find any better than this.

George Njenga

Exquisitely served. A little slow between meals

Stefanie Stoyanov

Outstanding service. Innovative food offerings. Staff and chef are extremely accommodating to special needs and will create something amazing for you. Overall wonderful experience. We will be back.

Nate Johnson

A true dining experience. Upscale french cuisine with a modern twist - very elegant space. Attentive service and impeccable drinks. A must in NYC.

Bondon Elizabeth

We love how they prepare the food right in front of us.

Michael Rabadi

A symphony for your palate. I have tried virtually every restaurant worth going to in this city any nobody comes anywhere close to Daniel. Have you ever tasted perfection? I literally did not know the point of an entree until I tasted Daniel's lamb entree. Imagine your favorite song and your favorite movie and your favorite play all got together and with your grandma and made your life worth living. That summarizes the first 15 minutes of your experience. the rest is nothing short of divine.

Ford Clark

This place clearly knows how to treat their clients. Always with a super friendly approach. The food is fairly priced, constantly tasty and clean.

Agustin Turner

Very good place with a classy ambiance. Me and my friends had a great dinner experience. For sure I recommend it to the people looking for a better dinning experience.

Dustin Richie

Great french food with pleasant ambience. A bit on the pricey side but a great place for a special occassion . Make sure you book your table well in advance.

B Kienzlen

Truly an experience of a lifetime. My son and daughter in law go for their anniversary every year and they invited us along this time. We had an awesome experience. From the second we walked in until the moment we left, we we're not disappointed. The food was not only the best I have eaten but the presentation was beyond what I could have imagined. Who knew you could get so full from the small servings. The wine pairings were on spot and complimented every bite. It was a very expensive evening but for the experience we had, it was worth it. Looking forward to returning next year for our son's anniversary. Or maybe before if we have the chance.

PETER DONOHUE

I cannot give Daniel enough stars. We have celebrated graduations, birthdays and many important family events over the past 20+ years. Each time we dine it is a most memorable event. The food is always incomparable. The service is unparalleled. Lifetime memories are made at the table at Daniel

Joshua South

A best in class NY institution. Fabulous food in a formal atmosphere

Marc Donner

Simply brilliant. In most restaurants only one course is outstanding. It might be the appetizer. It might be the dessert. At Daniel all four courses were outstanding. And the wine pairings were a revelation. Service was exquisite. The room is gorgeous. And you can hear your companions speak without them raising their voices. My vote for best in New York.

Suzy Park

Good and healthy food. If you want to be totally fit then food would play an important role and this place have all the option. Must recommend!

One of my favorite places for French gastronomy !

Nina Thao

It hard to say enough good things about Daniel. The food and service is amazing without being stuffy. I just think they get it right every time.

Chase Peterson

Exotic food and great wine selection. The food was top notch and the service was superb.

Laura Gross

The definition of excellence in dining and service. Delicious creativity doesn't get better than this. Had some of the best meals of my life here. Daniel Boloud is a genius.

Julie Newman

I recommend getting there early to take advantage of the happy hour deals with snacks and drinks. Excellent food!

Jane Lee

Absolutely phenomenal food & service. Exotic menu. One of my favorite restaurants in New York. I eat here each time I am in New York.

Gregory Klima

Fine dining is more than just the food, and the staff at Daniel understands that thoroughly. I have to say that we were treated with such kindness and graciousness that our evening became a truly memorable event. I must mention the truly warm and attentive service we received from Chris, Zach and Blake. Thank you, gentlemen, for making us feel like dear friends. You are worth your weight in diamonds. And thanks to Chef Boulud for stopping by our table so my daughter could go all fangirl on you! Now to the food: simply joy on a plate (well actually several plates: we did the 7 course meal). Each course was extraordinary. Each worth taking the time to savor. Such interesting combinations, such subtlety and construction. The artistry of presentation was world class. The entire evening was such fun. I cannot wait to experience Daniel again.

Andrea Gosselin

Such an amazing experience and we WILL be back. Every course was amazing, every ingredient completely thought out and executed to perfection. Jorge was the best and so attentive, he helped make our night memorable. The cuisine and ambiance of Daniel is unlike any other.

New York City has dozens of very expensive restaurants, but Daniel is one of the few that are worth the price. One gets the impression in most of these places that the money is destined for the owners' bank accounts, whereas its clear that Mr. Boulud invests most of his receipts directly into the food and service. The food, of course, is among the best in the world - choosing from the menu is almost heartbreaking, considering all the things you won't be tasting! The prix fixe format lets you choose whatever you want, without thinking about relative prices. (If anything, you tend to aim high rather than get "merely chicken", but there's nothing "merely" about anything on the menu - and given a hundred places to get a good steak in this city, why would you pass on the rest of Daniel's menu?) The wine list is to die for - frankly, it's intimidating to anybody who's not a wine connoisseur - but the sommelier will gladly suggest excellent selections that won't double your already-considerable bill. (If you're willing to double or triple it, you'll have no trouble doing so.) The by-the-glass selections are, in fact, surprsingly affordable - perhaps because they aren't the major profit center that they are at most restaurants (where $20 pours out of $10 bottles are all too common.) The best thing about Daniel may be the staff, who make you feel just as welcome as any big-tipping celebrity or billionaire. (Who, if present, will be quietly enjoying their dinner, just like you.) There are competing establishements, which I won't name, that make you feel like you're wasting their valuable time, but the folks at Daniel seem particularly happy to be giving us mere mortals what might be the experience of a lifetime. For anybody planning a very, very special night out, Daniel has to be at the top of your list.

very fancy and nice place

CHEF SADO

What can you say? It is chef Daniel !! Traditional French cuisine!!! Good amount of food and nice welcoming place

Eric Mosso

I recommend everyone must come here..

Emma Torres

This Central Park stunner is still sparkling after all these years. First opened in 1993, the fine dining institution has introduced impeccable French fare courtesy of Michelin mainstay Daniel Boulud to two decades of Upper East Side diners. The restaurant received a significant facelife from a 2008 redesign by Adam Tihany (One & Only Cape Town, Dinner London), bringing a fresh energy to a dining room filled with the expense account-wielding, Brioni suit- and Hermes scarf-wearing set. By all counts, Boulud's fare is as unrelenting as ever, with signature dishes like roasted halibut, served with Thai basil and a mellow yogurt-curry sauce, providing an indulgent argument for white tablecloth fine dining.

Barbara Pansa

Best restaurant with amazing Pastry! Lovely!!!

Katie Butler

Alex Lucas

One of the best meals of my life! Great food, great service and great wine. If you have the chance to come here I highly recommend it!

Ignace Belcher

I absolutely love everything about this place. Magnificent place, toothsome food and desserts, smiling and friendly staff. Definitely a 5 star from me! :)

Rob Musial

My wife and I chose Daniel for our 10 year wedding anniversary and we couldn't be happier. The food is exactly what you'd expect from such a highly awarded chef. It was elegant and surprising (who knew we'd LOVE cold smoked beet soup). Part of the magic is the front of the house staff. It was like highly choreographed dancing. Whole teams of people attend to you, making you feel like royalty. We love travel and Daniel is the yardstick the we'll use to measure other places by. Thank you so much for making our 10th anniversary so unforgettable.

Dennis Kim

Truly an experience to behold. The food, the atmosphere, the service, the wine, everything adds up to a sum that is greater than its parts. I would highly recommend starving the day before you go so you can get the full seven course tasting menu, which I unfortunately did not have the capacity for on my visit. At least I have something to look forward to now!

Dave McGhee

Amazing experience. Exquisite menu, excellent service. Incredible attention to detail.

Heather Rhoden

What can I say? It was an incredible dining experience. The food and wine were top notch, the staff were knowledgeable and accommodating, and best of all, we met the chef on our way out of the restaurant! It was an amazing meal followed by a perfect NYC moment. This is what wonderful memories are made of.

Marian Gidea

If you want a high-thrill, this is not the place -- go to a roller-coaster instead. Because the food is delicious in a gentle, intimate way. It is not the most exotic, crazily extravagant food. It is more like going into your own garden, picking the freshest and most flavorful ingredients, and cooking them in your own kitchen with love and care (only if you knew how to cook really really well!).

elena colicino

Exquisite food, rich in flavor and with extravagant ingredients. Highly recommended for special occasions! Delicious desserts.

Culley Mair

Magnificent and classy place with professional and friendly team to serve you. They also have a wide-ranging menu, food plating was amazing and scrumptious too!

Leila Zaremba

We definitely had a memorable meal with several stand out dishes, but our experience was mixed. First, we were the only ones seated on the outer tier of the room while table after table was seated on the main floor. We're wondered why we were not seated there. It felt intentional and elitist. Our main server looked at me while responding to my mom's questions about wines and we were not offered coffee out after dinner drinks until after dessert. Still amazing food overall!

I am a steakhouse person. Gallagher's in Manhattan is my fav. Would I be happy at a gourmet restaurant? Would I get filled up? I was a doubter. Well, I was very wrong on both counts. Elegant place; waitstaff all over you; best breads ever; unique tastes and flavors that I had never experienced before or even knew existed. I had to say, "please don't bring any more food"...I was hurting from all that I consumed. So were the 3 other guys with me. We did the 4 course meal. I cannot pronounce anything I ate. The swordfish and strip steak were the best tasting I have experienced. The whiskey sour was the best too...by far.

Having grown up in Paris, it was a joy to be back in a restaurant which is so superb, in a Parisien sense. The service was crisp, the food was immaculate and the wine pairing was, almost perfect. The light muscadet with the coquille and caviar was perfect, it was a moment you only get rarely in a restaurant. The Oregon pinot noire was suitable for the NY state foie gras, simply because NY state foie gras (bless it) is not really comparable with the real thing. That said it was well prepared and delicious. The claret with the wagyu beef was also superbe. It was young for a 20 year old wine, “drinking well” is I guess the best description. My only mistake was not going for the more expensive wine pairing. When at a restaurant like this, the food and wine will always be delicious, but if you are going to spend the money, then spend it and go for the better wine. You won’t be disappointed with the less expensive of the two options, but you may be left wondering, as I was, ‘what could possibly be better than this.’

Borut Strlič

An excellent 2 Michelin star restaurant. Daniel is a French cook that makes the food and his dishes come to life. Staff working in the restaurant comes from all over the world, an impressive lineup of waiters and waitresses. Make sure to discover and enjoy one of the best New York restaurants if only you have the possibility. Next time in New York and in search of 1 extraordinary thing book a dinner at Daniel. Last sitting at around 21:30.
