We have eaten here twice this week and both times had Nicole serve us. Great service. We love the cheese dip and the chicken flautas. Oh, the flour tortillas are made fresh upstairs...you can watch. Delicious!

Went here last night because it looked like a cool place. I had Rob D as my server and he was so sweet. He recommended the flautas which were so yummy and he kept checking up on me which showed me that even though he was busy he cared about the customers. This is my favorite spot for fish tacos. Their menu is quite big with lots of choices for pretty much everyone. I usually come here with my 2 small children and the staff are always very accomodating which is one of the reasons I keep coming back! Great family restaurant with tasty dishes.

The experience mentioned in this review was the summer of 2015 so I'm pretty rusty on some of the details, but I'm leaving a review anyway because it should've been posted a long time ago. So I was in New York city for five days, right? I was having a great time and wanted to see all the cool places. One night my family was out super late - I think we saw Wicked that night - and it was about 11pm when we decided to hit up Chevys. I saw the sign a few times and thought it would be cool to be able to say I went to the restaurant that showed up in so many of my pictures from Times Square. We waltz in and are shown to a table near the window. And then nothing. We ended up sitting there for about an hour before the server whose area we were seated in encoded to knowledge our existence. At that point it was midnight and I was annoyed enough because I was long nice starving before I came, and so were my parents. He took our beverage orders and it took about half an hour to even get our drinks, which were literally just ice water. That was when he took our dinner order. I forgot what my parents ordered, but I ordered a chicken quesadilla. At that point I just assumed they were super busy and that I was exaggerating the wait time - even though I was pretty much staring at the clock on my phone and the table next to us had already gotten their food. So we waited... and waited... and waited. It was two in the morning before he came back with our food so I was pretty much done with life at that point. I just wanted to eat and get back to my hotel room and crash, yet I had waited a ridiculous amount of time to even be acknowledged at this establishment, let alone be served. I'm not a confrontational person in the least and I wasn't in the mood to have to confront anyone that night because I was totally drained, so when I saw that the waiter got my order wrong I died a little inside. I figured that I could just suck it up and eat whatever it was because I was that hungry but took a closer look at the food and realized that it was something I never would have ordered (my mother can confirm) and even if I did I would've had to ask for the bell peppers to be removed because I'm allergic, so I had to alert the waiter. I informed him that he must've given me the wrong order by mistake and asked nicely to get the original order thinking that I would get my quesadillas or something else if they weren't available. Wrong! The waiter started arguing with me, almost yelling, stating that he knew what I ordered and it was absolutely what he gave me. I was appalled. I was about 14 or 15 at the time and had never experienced a grown man I don't know nearly screaming at me in the middle of his workplace, which happens to be in the service industry, for no good reason! Long story short, I didn't get the dish exchanged and had to try and split my mom's dish when we were both ravenous and tried to feed the dish I mistakenly got to my dad. I'm still flabbergasted by the story and to this day I have never met a waiter less deserving of a tip.

Hostess, Bartender and Waiters were very nice, however this place was a 1 star for many reasons. I acknowledge that I should have know better, but wanted a quick bite. There too many good and affordable Mexican restaurants or other establishments around this place for Chevy's to be your final eating choice. 1) Price - Prices are insane for basic corporate bad Mexican, $30 FOR A FAJITA, $20 FOR TWO TACO'S. (Really hate to categorize this as Mexican food, its a disservice to Mexican food everywhere) But what can you do. 2) Cleanliness, I was on the 1st floor only, so I can not speak to all the levels but it seemed drab but OK. I didn't like that the waiters took the elevator to bring food (open plate) to some patrons. NYC Inspectors were onsite, overheard some complaints that I wont mention, but are they ever happy? 3) Health and Food Quality - I understand you don't eat here for healthy food, however I still list health because what bothered me the most is that in my opinion, 95% (No Exaggeration) of the menu food choices had an Asterisk next to them with the warning that " This exceeds the recommended daily salt intake" (even the salad). This also pisses me off because that note is not on the online menu (which is how I chose to eat here). Unfortunately, I missed that note before ordering, which leads me to Food Quality. The food was in my opinion overly seasoned (which gave me a headache while I was eating) and poor quality. Particularly for the price point that Chevy's charging to eat.

We went there for the morning breakfast buffet. It was incredible! The omelet bar was top notch! Fresh and made perfectly! Rasheed was our waiter and he went above and beyond to help us. This was my first time going to Chevy’s in Times Square (although I went to a couple of them outside of the New York City area) and it was absolutely the best. Jason, who was one of the waiters there, was so friendly, service oriented and on his game. We even chatted for a bit while he took my order and felt like I had known him for a long time. Besides the free chips and salsa I had received, my favorite menu item was the Border Wings tossed in Mexican BBQ sauce served with ranch dipping sauce. I would definitely recommend coming to this location, even on happy hour for some good ol’ margaritas.

This place not only has horrible customer service but the food is horrible as well. My mother and I sat there for about 8 minutes before anyone even came up and asked us what we wanted to drink. I was already beyond ready to eat so I went next door got a piece of pizza eat it and came back and my mother still didn’t have her taco that she ordered before I walked next door! Don’t waste your time or money!! Hope someone had a better experience than we did!! Oh yeah and the waiter never came back and asked my mom if she wanted more coke she had the end of dinner with no drink and she had to go ask for her ticket so we could leave!

Really disappointed! I made 2 sets of reservations for 6pm (as I figured smaller groups would have faster service) parties of 4 and 6. One table was seated at 6:20 the other not until 6:50 at a table that was empty when we arrived next to the first one. They asked for the check when food arrived for table one. Table 2 never got their food. 20 min after they'd finished eating the check still hasn't arrived. Table 2 order was not even ready for take out. The restaurant said they would credit/comp the meal - but ended up charging the credit card holder double!! Then the manager didn't know how to fix it!! Needless to say, we missed the start of our Broadway show.

I give this 4 stars, but with the understanding this is what you'd expect of a chain Mexican restaurant. Not high end at all--not even close--but our family loves and enjoys it regularly for casual family dining convenient to shows. I only wish they'd stop raising the prices constantly, but I understand profit margins are minimal in the food industry and rent in Times Square is sky high... My fave dish is the crab and shrimp enchiladas.

Went for happy hour before a movie and ordered a glass of wine. I received a beer glass with wine in it...apparently they ran out of wine glasses. I don't know why because they were not packed and as I looked around mist people had either beer or the obligatory Margarita glass. The floor was sticky and no toilet paper in the bathroom. Never again.

Bartender (guy) had a horrible attitude, but the girl was awesome. She provided excellent service, unfortunately she was always busy when we needed something. Overall, not what you expect when you pay 100+ for each person in your party. The male bartender would pretend he couldn't hear you and made no effort to try - he'd walk away (yes we tip - didn't matter). I guess they figure you paid already and there's no refund. Well, there are reviews and people do read them. Strangely, the waitress on the floor working for reserved tables had it out for some teenage girls as well - she needs to work on her self esteem. It was an odd experience for New Years. If we go to NY again I'm thinking we'll go back to Dave and Busters because they had excellent service. We weren't there for the food - it was appetizers only as advertised and they were lame - as they have been everywhere else yrs prior. I will say this, if you like Mexican beer - it was bottled beer in a cup so that made it tolerable. Last but not least, the DJ was excellent. So, if you just wanna dance or listen to music and be ignored by a deaf bartender while you wait for the ball to drop this is the place for you.

I visited Manhattan Times Square for the weekend and decided to go to Chevy's because they had a great happy hour special. The $5 margaritas were amazing and the service was great. Our servers name was Chase and he was very attentive to our needs, professional, and he always made sure that we were taken care of. This was my 1st experience and definitely will not be my last. Not only were the drinks and food delicious but our server Chase made this experience very enjoyable. I will be back on my next visit!

If you want great food and decent service, find somewhere else to eat or lower your standards. The food was bland and taste less. From the quesadillas, nachos, burritos, down to the chocolate ice cream, everything was just terrible. Our server could have been more attentive and just better all around. He wrote items down and our food still came out wrong. I would try your luck elsewhere.

They have happy hour Margaritas for $5 but they're not worth it. They taste like limeade. But the bartender was nice enough to take it off my bill and I ordered a perfect margarita which was absolutely perfect. Good chips and salsa as always. And good tortilla soup but I could do without the street tacos for $5 as their corn tortillas and I prefer flower.

Easily the worst service I have ever experienced. In the HOUR AND A HALF I spent there, all I received was an appetizer and a drink. Let me also mention that the restaurant was not at all busy. I asked my waiter for water twice and never received it. My mom and I placed our entrée orders and never received our food. We had to call our waiters attention four separate times because he would not even go to our table. We had to ask the hostess for utensils and plates because there was absolutely nothing on our table once we got there. I asked for a second drink, and never got it. My mom asked for a frozen margarita, and got it on ice. My mom told the waiter it was my birthday, and someone from the kitchen came and just put the sundae in the middle of the table. At this time, my mom and I were wondering where our food was because we found it strange that they gave us a sundae before we even had our meal. We had to get up and look for our waiter AGAIN just to find out that the chef's never even made our food!!! We were already running late to an event we had, so we left the restaurant with nothing but damn nachos in our stomach. We asked for a manager, and the manager never came!!! We waited for over twenty minutes until we've finally had it. Absolutely HORRIBLE service. I'd rate my experience zero stars if I could.

My friend and I went for a late lunch, anticipating being able to enjoy some great authentic Mexican dishes. I'm sure we would have, however the prices were far beyond what we expected to pay. In the end, we settled for sharing a plate of the big nachos, which proved more than enough for both of us as we were unable to finish it completely. No complaints with the flavours. In fact, we found these nachos to be above and beyond the traditional ones you would receive. No shortage of toppings. Our waiter was prompt, courteous and very professional. We were also given chips and dip as a free appetizer upon arrival, which was a nice touch. Just wish the rest of the meals would have been more reasonably priced.

First time to New York and decided to try this place because it was connected to the Westin. The food and drinks were great! Very family-friendly as well. My kids loved the make your own sundae that was included with their kid's meal. Our server Donnell was top notch!!!! I am big on great customer service and he exceeded my high expectations. I came with someone to this restaurant and had created a combo and some margaritas the food was fine the drinks were great. I've also dined in the neighboring restaurants around the way. I don't understand why the tip was not added to my check . It would be convenient to have my 18% tip factored in the bill. It would be very consistent with the times square area and their tipping practices which are convenient for guests

I went to this restaurant and had a blast. Margaritas were delightful, we had 3 a piece. Food was delicious. Just as I was paying for the meal. Hefty tip etc. I noticed the red lipstick on the glass. My date was wearing green lipstick. We told the manager, he said he was sorry. I laughed it off, maybe the unsanitary glasses and plates made the food taste good? We weren't offered a refund or a voucher for another meal nothing. I mean before that experience, I would have given them 5 stars. I can't give them a perfect after that, could you? Anyway, buyer beware.

There was a movie theater next door and I was asking about it and the waitress and waiter were very eager to talk to me about it and recommended I went across the Street to that theater as seats were mire comfy. Great Mexican Restaurant in New York right across from Port Authority. So if you have time to waste waiting for your bus and hungry a must go to eat there.

Ate at Chevys on a FREEZING COLD Friday night. Keith was our server and he was absolutely wonderful!! He was funny, very attentive to our needs and just amazing! Our food was very good and the portions are huge! We sat on the second floor and really loved the fireplace as well!

Had the best time at Chevy’s Friday. Best happy hour. The food was great Mexican fare. Fajitas, the nacho deluxe, the guacamole. Watch the chips. They’re addictive. We were at Chevys on Christmas Eve, we really enjoyed the food specifically Burritos... really delicious and authentic. I visited this place after 10 years and I was really very happy to enjoy the same taste and ambience... One unique thing is the huge ceiling fan... checkout the photos below...

We always like chevys.. we go there to eat every time that we visit NY... unfortunately this past weekend it wasn't a great experience ..people who order after us got their food first .. the guacamole that we ordered as appetizer never came for which they charged us two Times. . And when we got our drinks my kids have to drink them with out straws. .. won't came back at all ..

I came here with a friend. Even though it's Saturday night we were seated immediately. Our waiter Branden was very friendly and helped us decide what to order. Music was great, food was delicious and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back.

Reliable, accurate Tex-Mex, just far enough down 42d Street to avoid theater crowd mobs. Accessible to Times Square subway lines. The several entrees I've tried were accurately done and pleased this NY-exiled Texan. Service is prompt and cheerful. The margaritas score a little light in alcohol content; my only complaint.

The service was very slow and the waitress we had was very rude. Every time she came over to the table she had an attitude and I didn't even feel welcomed into the restaurant. We got seated decently fast. While writing this review I'm still waiting on my food and we ordered it 30 minutes ago. There's 3 of us and it was very small meals. For as big as the restaurant is I would expect a lot more. Defiantly won't be coming back next time I visit New York.

Great staff and the drinks are good. The Chevy house margarita is a winner! Especially if you are watching the calories .... they also do a happy hour $5 for house margaritas and other drinks , 4-7pm I think #WINNER

Food was good, service was good. Nothing out of the ordinary. Quick bite to eat before leaving the big city. Waitress was fairly new so her knowledge of the menu was fair. When ate during lunch hours so the place was slow.

Loved this place! The only negative was it was so hot it on the first floor, much cooler on second level. Loved the happy hour $5 drinks and tacos the chicken w/the pineapple were my favorite. I wasn’t so much a fan of the ground beef ones they just seemed average to me. The platter we ordered was huge! I love that they allow you to substitute items if you do go for more quesadillas!, they were THE BEST EVER tasting quesadillas I have ever tried.

I ate at Chevy’s and Donnell was an excellent server. He made great conversation and made the overall experience here great! I noticed he did a great job juggling multiple tables while still focusing on us. I ordered the Baja Trio and loved it. He also made my table an excellent fresh guacamole.

Worst mexican food I have ever had. We ordered the mixed grill fajitas. The beef was so tough we could not chew it. The chicken was dry as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day. Service was decent.

Came here on a rainy Saturday afternoon and the place was half empty. I got a salad with chicken and my friend got the mixed grill platter with shrimp, chicken, steak, and pork. We also got steak nachos to start. I don't know if we were just starving or what, but the steak nachos and the cheese were good, but it came with the teeniest scoop of guacamole. The guacamole was warm and the avocado had this sour, bitter taste that u get when you leave avocado out for too long and it starts to go bad. The cheese had also congealed by the time it got to the table. On the plus side, the nachos were huge and we totally could have gotten away with just ordering the nachos for two people. The chicken salad they toss for you table side and it is topped with a generous portion of grilled chicken on top. The chicken could have been more moist, but I was satisfied with the portion size. On a side note I found a hair in my salad which was definitely not mine, since I have black hair and the hair was reddish brown and slightly curly. As for the mixed grill, the shrimp were okay but a bit small. The chicken could have been more moist, the steak was well done, and the pork was flavorless and dry. We waited a long time for the food and the tables and seats were pretty dirty. The waitress was very sweet but did not bring us the complimentary salsa and chips until i asked for them. Probably because we had ordered nachos, but I think she still should have brought us the salsa without us asking. The salsa is their own special roasted salsa, which I wasn't a fan of because it was more liquidy than chunky and fresh, which is what I prefer. Overall, I would not come back again.
