Nice surprise, went for a birthday diner, and this happened to be an excellent French restaurant of the West Village!

Cristiano Gato

My wife and I enjoyed greatly our time at Bobo. Service was outstanding. We loved the salmon tartare, the croquettes and the gnocchi. The watermelon caipirinha was refreshing and delicious.

caitlin ryan

Wonderful service and great space! Downstairs bar area is a little more happening and noisy while the upstairs is pretty quiet. Lovely place. The older gentleman who serves upstairs is top notch! Wish I knew his name! He’s so great.

Bryan Holmes

Great happy hour

Clayton Conley

Went to the downstairs bar for drinks and the drinks were very good, ambience is great, but the service was awful for being a slow night. We were there for an hour and a half and were seen by our server only twice. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here

Rudy Scott

Great food and accommodating restaurant. The space is so much bigger than it appears from outside. Each of the three main sections has a different feel but comes together nicely. Sit in the atrium/outside if you can on a nice day that's not too hot

Alain Barbet

Very comfortable. Great brunch.

Roberto Fernandez

Always a great place. Well made food, reasonable wine list. The second floor is very cozy.

Gisselina Yaport

Very cute backyard

Stuart Berg

Unique dishes with a European Aurora.

Daniel Chaitow

Great happy hour spot. Interesting drinks, cute atmosphere, and friendly bartenders. Loved the eclectic mix of music (everything from 90s hip hop to 50s/60s rock and roll). We tried all the happy hour cocktails and enjoyed them all.

Patrica Mclaughiln

We attended a 21st birthday brunch and everything was perfect - food, service, ambiance.

Mario Longhi

This is one of those places that TimeOut would take the "undatables". Great atmosphere. I was expecting a bit more attitude from the staff, for being a more expensive place, but everyone was so pleasant! It's on the more expensive side but it's worth it. Lots of couples on dates all around!

Mary Dailey

How had I never been here?? I will be back often. Elegant but casual. I real French menu with unique choices. Very reasonable prices including happy hour cocktails. We had poached lobster, grilled octopus and grilled cod (a special) with a lovely Sancerre by the glass. Very attentive wait staff. We were seated upstairs in an enclosed & tented greenhouse style space - the benefit of a well light and green rooftop and AC combined.

Joanna Solazzo

Perfect spot for a bridal shower brunch! The townhouse atmosphere and outdoor area make you feel transported to a place outside of the city. The food is delicious and the service is amazing. The private room upstairs is great for an intimate engagement celebration or rehearsal dinner.

Krystyna Morozova

Really enjoyed this place! Staff was very nice and very patient although the rest of my party was running late for my reservation. We weren't rushed at all and our food, drinks and desert was delicious. I also enjoyed the ambience of a small French cafe❤

Jia Sun

Great french spot. Superb service and delicious meal.

Mark Zacharia

This is a must-visit restaurant. Their chefs combine flavors so uniquely. We tried a varietyof appetizers, main courses and desserts. Everything is exceptional.

Delicious food, amazing salads, delectable sauces; friendly, professional, accommodating wait staff; second floor al fresco dining.

My girlfriend and I took a trip to New York City and fell upon this restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful, cozy and we were well greeted at the door. It was quite late but they agreed to let us in for a meal. First, the food was amazing. It's obvious the chef(s) are working very hard to make tasty dishes. We were very satisfied with the food. The sommelier was very nice and got us a nice bottle of wine. The only issue was the waitress. She gave us a sort of attitude, like we didn't belong there. My girlfriend and I speak french, and we spoke french to her, she was non responsive and didn't seem to care very much about us. She didn't smile once. It was kind of shame to be in such a nice place, where again, the people in charge of the establishment are evidently working very hard to make it a nice place for people to go and have a nice meal. That person though, would be the sort of person to poison this sort of environment and if I was in charge, she would be out the door as I would want people that are excited to be working for my restaurant and make the experience even better by just being a responsive waitress, showing that she cares that we're there. In all, again, the food was great, Don't stop yourself from going there because of the experience we had since the food was very very good.

Have Brunch at this charming decorated restaurant in the West Village. Portions are smallish so order a lot. Then soak up the sun in their secret garden while you enjoy delicious ice cream sandwiches.

Artem Ipatev

Exceptional food, great service, beautiful design of the restaurant !! Deserve 100 stars! :)

Lily Winkler

What an experience. This was the perfect date night location for our anniversary. Really amazing two story restaurant. Feels like you are in somebodies house. Extremely romantic with great decor. Great food and wine. Our server, Emily, was terrific. Really made our night.

Kevin Kos

Cosy place with friendly staff, we really enjoyed the cheeseplatter although additional info about the cheeses would have been nice

Alex Scott

Ate upstairs. Had a very strange waiter who kinda put on a show but he was pretty funny. Food was good, had a full fish and the chicken (during restaurant week) and it was a tiny portion and just okay. The appetizer was very good and the Mars bar dessert quite tasty as well.

Antonio Mendieta

Great place. Good good, great service, cozy place. Strongly recommended!

Chimena Campbell

Wow we love this place!! My friend has her wedding reception here and everything was perfect. The service was amazing and the ambiance is great. And the food... Wow I can't even explain how awesome it was. The desserts.. Wow.. I love it!!

The best place in the village for true French cuisine.

millicent evans

Excellent food! If you like Italian food, put this place on your list. Homemade bread and imported olive oil. Caesar Salad was fresh and robust, paired with a versatile wine list. Pork chop and spinach were fantastic. Always great quality. Good job guys.

Lovely ambience, great food!!

Had a lovely and intimate birthday meal with a friend here. The ambiance is really terrific - digging the french countryside decor. The service was great and the appetizers and dinner delicious. Will definitely return.

mra6

Crowded, slow service. Waitress was super nice. Food was very good. Good date spot.

Gabriel Anderson

Great atmosphere and great food. Just a little noisy on a Friday night.

Christopher Krautler

Christian was an amazing bar tender. Such fast and friendly service.

Ken Bernstein

Great place for a date

Such a romantic spot for amazing French food. Feels homey and the food portions are just perfect! Cocktails are great too; it’s a must try!

Lia S

Hidden gem. Had a great dinner with a friend. Butternut squash soup and cheese fondue were really good.

John Williams

Cute spot in the West Village

Erin Jarvis

The food wasn't amazing for the price, and the specialty drinks weren't particularly good, but the atmosphere was really great and it was a fun place to grab dinner and catch up with old friends.

Nan Carde

Four or five days after making a reservation for 15, Bobo came back and told us that we needed to speak to a party planner as our group was so large. We were somewhat concerned - when the reservation had been made there was no mention of a party planner. At this point, the Evite had already gone out and now the venue was saying we needed to restart the reservation process all over again? To smooth ruffled feathers, our party was moved to Bobo's upstairs space. With a separate entrance, and resembling a cozy dining room, the space had a private bathroom, a terrace and a laptop with speakers set up. The service, decor, and atmosphere were top-notch. For the most part, it seemed that everyone was pleased with their drinks and dinner. My steak was overcooked and the accompanying fries were over-seasoned. Despite my meh meal, I would still give Bobo a second chance. I felt that while we were there the staff made a genuine effort to be gracious and accommodating.

Karine Gregory

Nice experience. Food is freshly prepared for an order. Fillet mignon was great, white fish would be great if not for a thick creamy sauce. Great side dishes - all of them. Great desserts, and selection of wine even better, including by the glass. Actually, it's the best selection of wine by the glass. All in all, it's definitely a place to add to your favorites.

Gordon Middleton

Delicious food and a great atmosphere. They overbooked themselves so we had to wait even with a reservation, but they made up for it with great service and complimentary champagne. All in all, definitely would recommend

Ashley Chen

Lamb for two was AMAZING & the lobster appetizer is also a must! This is such a cute homey French restaurant in east village...its like eating at your French grandmothers home. The garden area is also so cute!!

Dan Messmer

We had an amazing dinner and the bill was reasonable for NYC prices. The bar downstairs is definitely one of the highlights that you should check out!

Sean Kosofsky

we had a private room upstairs. Food was amazing. service was amazing. The building has a lot of character. Very cute. I will be back.

Josh Mazza

Outstanding food in a charming setting. Service is always attentive and the wine list has some diamonds on it.

Jim Roche

Really good food presented with very good service. Lot's of interesting flavors and combinations

Robert Polickoski

All the food was excellent! The lamb, particularly, was delicious. The service was the right balance of attention when needed but not hovering.

Greg Hruby

Excellent happy hour can lead to a late night! We stayed in the bar area and didn't get to explore, but I hear the other sections are fabulous. The drinks were good, I recommend the bohemian gin cucumber followed by their margarita. The chicken dish was excellent.

Beverly Hinceeng

The food was perfect from beginning to end, and worth every cent. Thank you for making my birthday a memorable time.

Mark Bruak

Restaurant week is a tempting time to savor the fare of establishments you scurry past. We enjoyed a tender twist of trout, a meat medley with a breadcrumb crust, a lemon merange (sp?) that was properly intense. Collect your coins and step inside. Wine might be a nice addition

Chris M

Stunning restaurant and bar spread over a few floors. Situated in a West Village brownstone. There is outside area during the warm months. Impressive artwork and fixtures throughout the building. Perfect for an occasion or romantic meal. Cocktails and food consistent.

Wahab Wahab

food was good and bartender Fred was amazing! taddy mason??

Martin Blais

Fantastic dinner restaurant and solid, reliable place with great service, from the same owners as Rosemary's and Claudette.

So I’m very mixed about this place. Me and my boyfriend came for Valentine’s Day unaware that the price fix menu was the only option. We thought about leaving but decided might as well having nowhere else to go. We both had the grilled octopus which was phenomenal but our entrees were less so. I had the hangar steak which was good but a very small portion for paying $75 for price fix. Same with my boyfriend’s “rack of lamb.” The menu literally said “rack of lamb” and there was even a $5 supplement charge so we thought the portion was going to be bigger but it came back with literally 3 lamb chops. Definitely disappointed especially because of the price. The desert was very good for me “chocolate soufflé,” but my boyfriend’s lemon tarts was overwhelmingly lemon. He said he liked it but the lemon was very overpowering. Overall, the food here is good but the price is outrageous. They boosted the prices for Valentine’s Day, which is understandable but when we compared to the regular menu, our meal would’ve been almost 100 dollars less if it wasn’t for price fix! Keep in mind anytime you go here and they’re boasting the price fix menu because it’s really not worth it.

eLIZabeth taillie

Visited Bobo for Restaurant Week and did not disappoint. The host could have been better, barely greeted and didn’t direct us to the table until asked. But the rest of the experience was great. Started our dining with cocktails: bold fashion and Lolita, both delicious, with a side of beet chips that were crisp and perfectly salted. We ordered off the restaurant week menu, three courses for $42. The starters of steak tartar and little gem salad were the perfect beginning dishes. The entrees of vegetable risotto and cassoulet were great winter dishes, hearty and satisfying. And for dessert the chocolate mousse and lemon tart were the best ending to a wonderful meal. And our waiter was absolutely the best. In a city full of mediocre service, great service always stands out. He did not rush us and checked in many times. He was kind and knowledgeable. Would definitely visit Bobo again and recommend even during non Restaurant Week times.

Aaron Couts

This is a great joint. Atmosphere and decor is homey and comfortable. Service can be a bit slow. The menu contains some nice meat options like steak and pork cheeks, and the grilled octopus appetizer is incredible. Perfect spot for a date.

Kaitlyn Raterman

This is without a doubt one of my top 3 restaurants in Manhattan. Consistently excellent. Cozy, romantic ambiance in an old townhouse, great waiters and service, strong menu that changes with the seasons, delicious food every time.

Mathieu Coquelet Ruiz

Great place for laid back drinks, cozy venue and long list of cocktails.

Anit Asadollahi

Vegetarian soup and gnocchi was amazing

David Sands

I took my wife to this restaurant two years ago because it was her birthday and because of its reputation as "One of the Most Romantic Restaurants" in NYC. Though pricey, it lived up to its reputation. The ambiance was beautiful, food was excellent and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. Little tip though, ask to sit upstairs, less noisy.

Johnny Voong

Came here with a few friends for dinner. Restaurant is large for NYC and there are multiple areas you can be seated. Ambiance of each as you walk through the restaurant all seems nice. We were seated just before the outdoor area where there is a glass ceiling so it was kind of chilly as the heater was spotty going on and off. Atmosphere of that room was really nice though to be able to look up and outside and with the brick walls surrounding you. One friend ordered off the restaurant week menu and was not a fan of the food. I decided to order off the a la carte menu with another friend and split the rabbit terrine as an appetizer, lamb for two as entree, and the tart of the day which was apple and almond. Terrine was fine but that lamb was so good. It's served on top of some collard greens and polenta (with plenty of melted butter). One of the best lamb dishes my friend and I ever ate. The apple and almond tart for dessert was also phenominal. Crisp pastry crust, apples were the perfect texture and combined with the frangipane had a really nice slightly floral aroma. Definitely a good spot to bring a date or to come to with friends. Service was good, they're good about keeping the water glasses filled. I liked the fact that they don't rush you for dinner although a buddy of mine felt the food and service was kinda slow. Overall was a good experience and would come back. There were a few people speaking french two tables over which added to the overall atmosphere.

Pastries are warm and amazing

Marcio Roza

One of the best interpretations of the “bolinho de bacalhau” I ever had, which is no small feat when serving a brazilian or portuguese qualified client. On a bed of black olives and olive and cooked apparently after a little bread flouring, it is a real pleasure. The sea bass that followed was grilled to perfection and the sauce included discrete fresh tomatoes, mushrooms and herbs. I will be back. Marcio Roza

Sean Moriarty

What an experience! Excellent food in an exquisite environment with perfectly friendly service. The wine list is varied enough to find something that you are bound to be happy with. I recommend the duck. And the skate. And the cucumber soup....

Megan Roache

Great service. Outdoor seating is perfect for a summer night, moderate noise level. Have been a few times over the years and never disappoints. Favorite is the tartar

Alaina Zulli

We sat around longer that I would've liked before the waiter came to take our order (maybe 10 min), but that is my only complaint. Aside from that, the space is gorgeous (we sat outside). My chicken salad was excellent. Fresh, delicious, and with surprising ingredients. We will definitely be back.

Bobo is a surprise find. What looks like an underground little bistro with a bar opens up into a beautiful dining room and outdoor space once you ascend the internal staircase. Definitely one to keep in kind for brunch or late night cocktails too.

Jason Papatryfon

Fantastic cosy nook within a beautiful environment and great service. Food....just excellent!!!

Alexander C.

One dollar oysters for happy hour!

Stephane Amate

Very great place in the village with good food and great cocktails. Fred the bartender was amazing!

Nick

Not at all impressed with the Negroni I had, but if you're looking for style over substance you might like this place.

The Best! I can't speak highly enough of Bobo, and the team there. This is really 2 reviews: 1. Event, Wedding- We held our wedding at Bobo and reserved the second floor and garden space. We had the ceremony on site and very comfortably seated 54 guests. The ambience is wonderful if you're looking to plan a party or wedding. The planning process was extremely easy thanks to Lisa and her team. The wait staff were terrific. They are true professionals at what they do, and can't be thanked enough. Lastly, the food... well it was amazing. My guests were still raving about it a week after the event. Honestly, planning the wedding with Bobo was the best decision we made, and by far the easiest part of the whole planning process. I don't know what else to say about this place except... AMAZING. 2. Dining- I've gone numerous times, and it has never disappointed. The staff is consistent, as is the food. Brunch is steller, as is dinner. The cocktails are superb. It's way too easy to fall in love with this place. It's basically perfect. I haven't met a person or been there with someone that has disageed with that sentiment. I can go on and on professing my love of Bobo... but I'll stop here. :-)

Alyx Mark

I love this restaurant. A great little spot in NYC for date night or a business dinner. Food is phenomenal, atmosphere is relaxed.

Patrick DiLoreto

Always nice to visit Bobo, whether for dinner, brunch, or drinks and a snack. Cozy feel with excellent food and drinks. Great happy hour, too!

Eyal Schwartz

The best gnocchi I had in NY

Wendy Magro

Delicious food in a beautiful setting. Atmosphere was relaxed and not noisy....chickpea fritter app was delicious and the steak special was fantastic. We also loved our server...her recommendations were great and she was a sweetheart. Will definitely go back.

Donna G.W

Went there for restaurant week. The atmosphere was just perfect. Exceptional service and delicious food.

Kevin Gallagher

We had a horrific experience on Tuesday Dec 11th 2018. The service was absolutely terrible! It began when our host tried to order a half-bottle of Sauterne to go with the foie gras. After negotiating with several staff members, the brought a warm bottle. Which he then asked to be chilled. "We're sorry sir, but the health inspectors are here, and they told us we cannot have any wine buckets because standing water is prohibited " What? Wine buckets are now outlawed? This was the beginning of the service nightmare. They took the bottle of Sauterne away to chill it somehow. It took numerous requests before we were to see that bottle again. Eventually, after pleas to different staff members, it was returned. We had a rotating staff of servers, and we never did see our original waiter again. Maybe he went back to Poland? I can't say I could blame him. Our host tried to order a bottle of Chablis for the entrees, but they forgot about that order. So that when the entrees arrived, our host had to re-order the wine, but guess what? That's right. They could not bring us a wine bucket since this would be against the "standing water" law. Although we ordered both appetizers and entrees when we first placed our order and told them we had to get to a show nearby, it took numerous requests of different staffers to get our entrees, as time ticked on. I thought the only thing missing was John Cleese to come out and insult us. There was more "fun" to come. Our host was kind enough to point out that the bill was not in order, and didn't have the entrees. No, this was not their way of making up for terrible service, it was just another mistake. They corrected the bill, and we finally escaped. This used to be our favorite restaurant for a pre-jazz dinner in the village. I just don't know what to think, or to risk going back. Maybe Bobo has been sold, or has new "management"? This was just so disappointing.

Shelly Frank

not worth the hassle. reputation is better than the product

Dave Canfield

Great service, garden level both intimate and good for group drinks - excellent cocktails and beet chips are a must.

Cohen Elior

A great place for food, desert and\or drinks. Great service and fair prices. I will definitely come back

Marc Levy

The decor is elegant but not pretentious, Bobo is one of this very rare restaurant in NY where you can really have a conversation while dining instead of yelling over lould music. The food is inventive and very good and the staff friendly, efficient and very courteous. Marc

Robert Lurie

Quaint French restaurant, with a surprising amount of space. Downstairs is the bar and some small tables, with upstairs having a more formal seating area. Delicious cocktails and really good food with some delicious seasonal specials. They have a good selection of French wines as well. Beet chips are a delicious start. When the weather is nicer, there is garden seating.

James Everett

Forever 5 Stars.

Dan Plumeri

Food is amazing! Ambience and service is great

Ana Ateca

Nice brunch and awesome staff! Beautiful place!

Corey Birtles

I’ve really tried with this place over the years but I’m struggling to have a lot of good things to say. Each time I come here something new is amiss. The bar staff seem to feel it is ok to be cold... even though the style of the menu and interiors feels whimsical - I’m expecting a warm and invited place. I ask for a cocktail at the bar that they don’t have, she says she doesn’t know it and makes it clear that she’s not going to make any other cocktail. I don’t know... just think that it’s a competitive marketplace for bars and these guys really need to change their style to get the clientele - it’s not that busy! Be friendly. Be local. Be whimsical - like your menu.

John Nelson

Fresh, delicious, knowledgeable staff.

Esmeralda Singh

Lovely atmosphere, great food and service.

ross grabel

Food was delicious. Waiter very helpful on wine selection which was excellent.

Miaoye Que

Relatively small portion, which I didn’t mind at all because I can’t eat much. Tastes heavenly!!! The waiter was funny too and made our days better. Another plus side is that even though we went during Saturday brunch time, it wasn’t packed so you won’t have to try to have a conversation with a lot of noise around. Overall an ideal brunch place!

Mimi Chan

A great place to bring a party for an intimate dinner

Nicholas Rossano

Seems unsuspecting on the outside but absolutely beautiful on the inside. Incredible food and wait staff. Will definitely be back!

Taylor Presley

Bobo is exceptional from start to finish and I'm shocked and sad they don't have 5 star reviews across the board. From the lovely and exceptionally kind host to the happy hour drinks at the bar that were excellent and a great price, to the dinner which was superb... I loved this place. I had a NY strip and fries (should come with aioli but when I asked for it they brought it) and my friends had scallops. Great service and great prices and ambiance. Can't wait to come back and I've already sent several friends over. Thanks Bobo!

John Ozbay

Amazing French restaurant! Antoine the waiter is FANTASTIC.

Gu Matto

Smoked salmon with scrambled egg was average at best. That plus a shared chocolate dessert and coffee was 32 box...

Maria Hernández

The place is nice - has a good covered terrace, but the food needs to be improved. It is not expensive at all, but I find that the quality of the ingredients not excellent and the menu a bit boring. If it was improved it would be great!

Michael Schwartz

Great food. Great service. Great restaurant.

scott gabrielle

Quite expensive for what it offers other than a great atomoshpere and location in the West Village. Good was well prepared but small portions and sides are extra. Friendly and attentive staff. Nice bar area to enjoy a pre dinner drink.

Don Wu

The ambiance is amazing. The food was less impressive. My foie gras was somewhat tasteless; like something you might find on sale at Monoprix. The accompanying apple chutney was equally uninspired. My salmon main course was overdone; though the horseradish and lentils were quite nice. My Bobo IPA was probably the best part of the meal. Overall, I feel this restaurant is not worth the money.

Derek H

We were seated upstairs which really worked. The bar scene was very busy downstairs. Our waitress was delightful and provided great recommendations. The heirloom & watermelon salad was very tasty. The skate special was tender. Excellent experience! Pretty decor.

Paul Miard

Original menu, great food and cocktails. Nice ambiance and decor. The room upstairs in the back had a glass roof it's great.

Qiana Raysor

I experience the bar area on the main floor. The bartender was very understanding and patient allowed my friend to try different wines before choosing the best that suited his taste buds. I didn't have a meal but the cocktails are delicious; from the smells I'm sure the food is delicious. I will be returning soon for lunch or dinner.

Lorraine Penaloza

Everything was tasty. The cocktails, food and desserts.

Betsy Burnett

This place is outstanding and left us incredibly impressed! I live in what I consider the foodtopia of the South (Asheville, NC) and the food here blew us away! My friend and I both agreed that the service at this restaurant was second to none. Every employee we encountered could not have been more hospitable, generous, and kind. Major shoutout to Ian, Seth and Cassie- you all made our entire night so special! Could not recommend this place more- it’s a must!

Rand Blunk

I seldom describe a meal as divine, but there’s no other word for our dinner experience at Bobo on Friday evening. From the airy and immaculate upstairs dining room to the meticulous and friendly service, the stage was set for a remarkable meal. My guest and I, having enjoyed a few excellent appetizers and a cheese plate, split the perfectly nuanced Filet au Poivre ($36). We couldn’t have asked for anything more tender and flavorful. The peppercorn sauce had a gentle zing and the plentiful French fries had a personality of their own accented by the rich sauce. We had preceded the entrée with a cheese board anchored by an elegant Bleu d’Auvergne accompanied by a farmhouse Brie and a goat cheese from the French countryside. The Côtes-du-Rhône (Saint Cosme, 2017, $70) was perfection: round and deep from the first sip all the way through, getting fuller as it opened. Our waiters, Bryce and Anthony, couldn’t have been more knowledgeable and efficient, all in good-humored sophistication. Most of the entrées are $24 and the sparkling water is free. One special moment in our evening of superlatives will live on in my personal snow globe: as we enjoyed the appetizers and a deeply satisfying conversation, my favorite funky instrumental played in the background—“Green Onions,” Booker T and the MGs. Life can be so wonderful. It was our first experience at this West Village gem. Such a finely orchestrated dining symphony doesn’t occur without superb management. David deserves top marks in this regard. He welcomed us warmly and checked back a few times, making us feel totally comfortable. Cheers all around. I’m sure there will be many more totally satisfying Bobo dinners to follow. rand b

The decor of this place is adorable...country fresh with a great ambiance - great for date night, girls night, mom and sughter night - everything. Noise level is moderate - you can hear great but don’t feel like you’re in a prim and proper quiet place. Must get the gnocchi (so tasty) and the lamb shoulder. Ask for the mini madelines off menu for dessert.

Amy Bentley

One of the better restaurants in the area. Ask for Arnold, service manager. He was great!

James Ronald

Enjoyable restaurant in the West Village with some very good cocktails

alden cushman

Great place with good service and fine food

Joel Mullett Bracht

Meh.... uninspired and unimaginative...staff seemed to be sleep walking through the motions....no one has any passion for anything at all... perhaps even being alive...

Miroslav Blumenberg

Outstanding food efficient friendly staff very pleasant.

Steven Lastname

We ate in the bar rather than the restaurant upstairs. Even the bar was cozy and charming. The service was great. We had the beet chips which were excellent, grilled octopus which was perfectly done and tender rather than rubbery, and the skirt steak was perfectly done and seasoned. All in all a perfect date place in the West Village.

Brian Caball

Tasty food and fun staff for some drinks

Pieter Vanderbeeken

The interior is beautiful, cozy and warm. But that's the only positive thing I can say about this restaurant. From the moment that we sat down until they cleaned our table 30 minutes passed. Thirty minutes! I didn't even have a first sip from my aperitif and they already brought the white wine, which was supposed to come with the main course. Two minutes later the meal was served. I had the $30 risotto coquilles saint jacques aka 3 spoons of rice, drenched in a salty sauce and topped with 4 scallops. Is this a restaurant or a buffet? One waiter asked us if we wanted a dessert, which we kindly refused. A minute later another waiter drops the dessert menu on the table without asking. If we explain that we don't want any dessert, he promptly brings us the check. Is this your interpretation of a French dining experience? Rethink your service then. Really disappointing.

Dan McGillivray

Elegant dining in a Chic West village location.

Paolo Mita

Very quaint place for a drink

Mike Sullivan

Was here for a wedding reception. Food was great. Drinks were creative and tasted great, as well.

Jared Lemine

I’m a fan! Bobo is a great spot in the West Village to treat yourself to some very good food. The downstairs section is more casual than upstairs. Upstairs has a very inviting French country vibe with candles, an old fireplace, and wooden decor. Downstairs is a bit more casual. Food wise - you can expect great quality from Bobo. There’s very good flavor in all of the dishes that I’ve tried. Most recently, the grilled octopus was noteworthy. I split the hanger steak & asparagus. I’m not the biggest fan of hanger steak - I wish a different cut was available. Skip the asparagus. For the price, you’re getting about 8 stalks and $1/stalk. Nothing too noteworthy flavor wise.

T Singh

Great ambiance and service

Kaitlin McClamrock

Bobo is the best — such a great atmosphere and the most delicious and simple, ingredients-first approach to dining. Good cocktail and wine list, too

Jacko Vanzeti

I never write restaurant reviews but I had to because my experience here was by far the most atrocious I have had in the city and I'm from here. I picked this spot for my birthday because of the rave review it received in New York Mag and for its price it was the worst tasting food I have had in this city considering the EXPENSIVE bill at the end. The portions were ridiculously small, the waitress could not an order straight, the courses took forever to come out and they put meat in everything even when we specifically asked for veggie. I wound up picking up the IMMENSE tab for my own birthday because I was so embarrassed towards my company that I actually chose this place. Now the atmosphere was actually really cool but I hope this place goes out of businees QUICKLY and do not wish what happened to us on anyone. STEER CLEAR!

Great brunch and service! Double yum.

The best classic French food!! Everything taste so perfect, fresh, original. The service was amazing and the drinks .

Genuine atmosphere of a local place that has recurring clients. Good selection of wines, very good salmon belly tartare. Staff is very nice and professional in an easy going way. Would definitely recommend it both for a causal night at the bar as well as a dinner with close ones.

Great tasty meals. I went there with my work team. They personalized a menu for us with the logo of our company. Waiters were nice and very professional. The atmosphere is awesome as well. Beautiful decoration in the different rooms.

I fell in love with the staff at brunch and the space. There's something very warm and welcoming about both. We laughed a lot. The food seemed to let down both sides. I wanted it to be better so I could make Bobo my new favorite spot in the West village. It wasn't bad food. It just seemed like no one was really paying attention to details like salting the food or having enough acidity in the salad dressing. I did like the lemon zest in the goats cheese balls in the best salad.

Very nice Ambiente, but very average food

Great jazz bar. Can get pretty crowded...so you might have to get there early and wait in line. Usually 2 drink minimum, but its worth it if you are a live jazz fan.

Thomas Hoffmann

Like it. A bit to quiet for my taste but in general a really cozy place.

Intimate setting, good food & service

Ambiance? Check. Great Drinks? Check. Edison Bulbs? Check. This place is a great spot for an after work happy hour. The last part about Edison bulbs isn't really necessary for for a great bar but it's for sure a cherry on top. The staff was really helpful and there was a nice selection for happy hour drinks. If you want wine, beer, or cocktails for $6 from 5-7 this is the place to be!
