Love the atmosphere, food and Latte. Beautiful large fenced outdoor dinning area. Love the fact that there’s no music in the background so you can have an audible social experience. Every item on the menu worked for me (I tried most of them already). You will not be disappointed
Smells like cigs
Had the salmon salad. Super tasty and very good service. Solid prices
Loved this place. Huge seating area both inside and outside. The patio is fabulous in the summer.
A lively place! The unseen DJ is playing early 2000 hits keeping the place moving. Most of the staff are model/actress types and very courteous. The food is good. I had the buttermilk fried chicken but I didn't really get the "potato salad" which was satisfactory even though it well cooked potatoes, onions and peppers with dill sauce, and not the traditional potato salad you expect. The bartenders are awesome. You have to sit in the garden if it's a nice day! I'm coming back.
Excellent food... nice cozy outdoor atmosphere.. and fast seating..
Nice garden/terrace, not a big beer choice, but the mood is really fun and employees happy
Not sure the direction this place is going for, but the menu options are not appealing and very basic. Same goes for the cocktails. Nice outdoor space with couches and lights. Would not recommend going here for the food or drinks.
blue couches are here got really drunk with my friends lots of open air
Cozy winter place, amazing g outdoors I. The summer
Food is great, the garden court is so very pleasant! The Mezza plate appetizer is giant (enough for 4+) and the fried chicken my husband has was delish! Our service was top notch, thank you Idalia!
Spent a LOT of time here late at night 2010-2012...But they have a great brunch too (my 2019 discovery)! There was absolutely no wait, and wonderful food.
The classic intern bar where it is pretty much packed on a Friday and Thursday night.
Very cool place with a great atmosphere. I am visiting NYC (grew up here) and was walking with family and friends looking for somewhere cool to get a bite and some drinks. Someone suggested a place across from B Bar, but when we saw the courtyard seating we opted to come here instead. Since it is summertime, sitting in the courtyard was a must, and with the large tree(s) there it was really pleasant. We got some chips, salsa and guac for the table, all fresh and delicious (guac was especially good), and I had chicken and steak tacos for dinner. Tacos were ok, the chicken ones were spicy and I don't recall the menu mentioning them being spicy. I love spicy foods so wasn't a problem, but it took me by surprise. I thought one of the sauces given with the tacos was the source of the heat until I tried the steak taco with both the green tomatillo salsa and the red/orange sauce given with the plate and didn't feel anything. The steak taco was a little bland by comparison, actually. But overall everything did taste good, and the Brooklyn Pale Ale was iced cold and I enjoyed it with the meal. They have pretty simple food menu with all the hits on it, and a nice drink menu if you are into that (I'm not a big drinker), but the food is solid and the atmosphere is great. Def worth checking out!
Weird decor kind of new age Teutonic modern - the food is amazing but pricey - I enjoy the bar - great location
Good, standard brunch spot. Nice indoor/outdoor seating and not too crowded.
Had a nice little time.
The space alone sells this place. Most places never have room for us. They sat us in 5 minutes. Food was good. Prices were reasonable. Staff was friendly. Place was cozy. Loved this place.
Happened to have found this place because the nearby trendy bars were bursting at the seams, and there was space here. Delighted to discover that the food was quite good and there was a good selection of drinks. Had a great beyond burger and a Downeast cider.
Loved the whole place. The food was on point. The service was excellent
Everything was amazing except the prices
First time there shrimp tacos were great and the truffle oil and blue cheese scallion fries ...were to die for
We enjoyed a late lunch: one die hard vegetarian and a pescatarian. Lots of happy choices and great service.
Ambiance is great.
We went here after work and they were so difficult. We wanted to sit at a table together and they said we couldn’t. We purchased drinks at the bar and they told us we couldn’t be seated with a drink from the bar, who says that???!!! They told us that they were preparing for rush hour...hello! The 8 of us were those people they were preparing for! Anyway. Might not be the best place to go. They are not very friendly or accommodating. There are so many places to go just down the street, like the Standard.
Good brunch menu. Expansive outdoor seating.
Gorgeous patio. We came right before it started raining, and they re-seated us in the covered patio. Great drinks, attentive service. My steak frites was amazing. My daughter loved her mac n cheese and my husband enjoyed his dinner as well. Will definitely bring out-of-town guests here.
Good, not great. I’m a New Yorker and was waiting for the Merchant’s House Museum across 4th to open and had not had breakfast. The patio was welcoming but could not find a menu posted at any entrance so walked in and asked. I got the chicken sausage omelette and it was tasty but I had to laugh because the guy that brought from the kitchen (not the waiter) warned to be careful that the plate was hot—nope. The food was barely warm. I suspect that the place caters either to tourists or visiting parents (Cooper Union and NYU are in the vicinity and a pair of parents with college daughter sat down nearby) or later in the day to the drink college crowd. Anyway, staff seemed as concerned w/getting set up for later as with guests right in front of them. Even so, nice setting, nice staff, grub good if not hot. Good but not great during my visit.
The place looks decent but can’t even serve good French fries. Tacos didn’t have any flavor, the pizza was a disaster and the pasta was absolutely horrifying. Please avoid this place.
French toast to die for. Very reasonably priced brunch in NYC. Not super crowded. True brunch gem of NYC. Be sure to ask for the bread and jam for the table too!
Love their service
Nice place on Friday night good food and ambience
Very good place. Nice service, decent food and reasonable price.
Food was decent .. but looking around I noticed there was no visible sprinkler system, gas sensors, or smoke detectors.. thinking the building isn't currently up to code on safety regulations.
Great place! Nice ambience and people! From what I’ve seen it looks like they’re only open in the summer though.
The decor was nice and they have a wood burning fire place so the inside was nice and cozy. I feel like I would enjoy this place more In the summertime though. The fish for the fish and chips looked like just broken bits of fried fish, a couple of pieces looked like nuggets. Food was okay.
Great asthetic, the food looks good and the staff is nice. Very solid place for its average price
This is a great place to sit outside on a sunny day. I went for brunch with a friend, and had Eggs Benedict, which was just OK, nothing special. The walnut banana bread that they bring out though is delicious. The service was a little slow, but considering that everyone wanted to sit outside that sunny day, I wasn't too upset. I'd definitely come back again.
Relaxed atmosphere. Good crowd . Excellent drinks.
Great local hangout, love sitting alfresco on any day of the week
The absolute best taco I've had my entire life! I highly recommend the shrimp taco which is the only one that I ate. I only intended on getting one but my body told me to get one more. Make sure you put the lime on it as well.
It looks okay I go for it my close friend Ben Ami told me about it he said he was there
B Bar was my first hang out place when I first moved to NYC (mainly because it was right across from the office, so it made a great happy hour place). Since then I’ve moved on and frankly haven’t been back for a while now. I’ve moved offices and discovered new places since then. In warm days the outdoor space is great but looks like they now added a Taco Bar. They used to have theme nights. NYC has certainly changed since. We came on a Friday night and it wasn’t too crowded. We wanted a place not so loud but also food and drinks. We were in the neighborhood and it was flash back 12 years. We had to wait a few for a larger table. Hostess sat us in a cozy banquette as we all settled in. Food has always been consistent here and still so. I’m sure in the summer time when the outdoor patio is open it is lively but for us the subdue interior, soft lighting and comfortable level where we can have a conversation and the food and service is enjoyable is a plus.
Vibe wasn't that happy hour like. More of a "place to eat" vibe unless you book the private room, as we did. Had pizza and tacos - they were good.
Beautiful place with friendly staff. The menu is a bit all over the place - some great dishes like the chicken and some bad ones like the salmon or pasta. Great patio for a beer!
Cool spot, great for eating al fresco
Relaxed atmosphere. Good crowd . Excellent drinks.
Convenient, welcoming and fun. Food is very passable.
Steak was amazing! So was the butternut squash ravioli! Seasonal draft beer was also excellent
Prices are fine. The service was attentive and we had a good time. The well drinks and beer selection are pretty decent, but don't expect much of their cocktails.
Great outdoor space but don't bother showing up with a party of more than 5. They have a strict no more than 5 per table policy and refuse under and circumstances to pull over a chair or a table. So yes, if you show up with 10 people they won't let you combine tables. If you show up with 6 they won't sit you at all.
The place is cozy Food is average and not worth the money expended
This place was lovely. I was invited to a bachelorette brunch here. It was located in the greenhouse area and it was so beautiful with the vines and the sunlight we got even on a rainy day. On top of that, the service was friendly and the food was fantastic. I got the huevos rancheros with steak on the side. The steak was cooked to my liking and the huevos rancheros as well the appetizers beforehand were delicious. Everyone else's meals also looked amazing. The appetizers were calamari, tuna tartar, pitas and hummus along with several other dips, and mac n' cheese served in a mini cast iron pan. The tuna tartar was one of my favorites and I really enjoyed the guac. They also brought more pita when we ran out for the dips. I uploaded photos and you can see the presentation of all of these was beautiful. Overall, very accommodating place to hold an event. We were able to bring our own desserts and cake and decorate as well for the party and the food and drinks were delicious. They menu for the event even had a picture of the bride to be on it! I'll definitely be coming back here on my own! Thank you!
I like it very well. Large portions with fine prices for the nice service they have.
It's good occasionally. I like sitting inside because you really get the feel of the place. Outside... Not so much. I don't always leave loving the food, but they have a to die for banana bread and butter for free! Ask for it.
Friendly staff and great food
Delicious food and great services. It’s a great place to have dinner with friends.
Drinks are overpriced! Nonetheless cool spot to hang at and for social networking
Love the airy and spacious dining area in the garden. The tuna tartare was delicious.
Absolutely disgusting. Person who set the table put their used gum in the napkin they set.
I came here on my first trip to NYC and I am happy I did. This bar has some great tasting food and a lot of character.
Quite a spacious watering hole with lots of old-school NYC photography decorating the bar space, while the restaurant/cafe section is surprisingly mellow and well serviced by friendly staff. Enjoyed a delicious meal on Saturday night with no waiting and hung out with friends in the bar section afterwards.
Top location. Indoor, outdoor, in the pub. Great place.
Great food, great atmosphere!
Enjoyed playing crazy golf with my food.
Spacious, good service, good food. Walked by it for years and never knew it existed. I'll definitely be going back!
Great place to visit especially when the weather is good to sit outside. Food was great, and the service was amazing too! Would recommrnd!
It's cute! They've got good meals and good drinks! A little on the higher end of the price scale for this 20-something, but it's nice!
Bad service. Location and outdoor great. Unfortunately rude and full of attitude. Happy to share a picture of the staff who was but figure it comes with the overall attitude from staff. Left. PS. Came here first time summer of 2001 and loved it. Also was treated amazing during NYC blackout 2003 or so, therefore not happy leaving this review cause have amazing memories but guess things change.
Went here on a Friday early afternoon. Outdoor area is super cute and spacious. Perfect for catching up with friends. There was no HH specials when I went, not sure if they offer this or I maybe might've missed it. Ordered the rosemary lemonade (which was delicious and surprisingly stronger than I was expecting), and steak/fries which were also tasty. Within about an hour, the outdoor seating area got packed .. so def get there earlier, so you can get a seat!
This place was great! The chicken sandwich was delicious and the service was wonderful. Highly recommend this place!
Excellent lunch spot with most seating in a garden-like patio. Food was great. Located East Village about three blocks east of Washington Square Park.
The food was VERY good. Not a crumb left on anyone's plate. Our server was Thomas, he was very accommodating and struck the perfect balance between friendly and professional. We definitely want to come back next time we're in the area.
Enchanting indoor-outdoor restaurant with tasty food. Retro 50's decor combined with a touch of nature make it a warm and inviting place to spend quality time with friends who enjoy good food.
Stopped by the main host stand this afternoon around 3:00 pm and was told to go to the outdoor stand. When we got there, the hostess outside said she couldn’t give us a table (even though nearly half of the tables were empty) because we were just getting a few appetizers and drinks. She said tables were only given to “parties eating full dinners, not just appetizers.” Needless to say, we went to a different restaurant.
The outdoor patio is great and the staff is friendly and accommodating.
Wonderful food, service and atmosphere
Cool industrial retro diner style interior, with bar and indoor-outdoor patio space. Big, quality comfort foody breakfasts.
Always good...very good prices
Decent food and service. Ambiance is nice too (inside or outside seating available)
Great vibe. Not cheap, not expensive. Prices to be expected. Love the outdoor garden.
Wonderful place. Most people go here in the summer on account of the generous seating in the massive open air patio. This makes it a perfect spot to meet up and start your evening in the offseason as there are two great bars (one in the front and one in the back) and easy seating. If you want to belly up, the bartenders are intelligent, have a good sense of their wares and the stools are marvelous. If you have a big group they always find large tables for you with little of no warning.
Was there for a closed private event wedding party and the staff was very attentive in the food was amazing would recommend just go in there to eat or renting out for big events. They drinks menu is really great too!
They serve freshly baked banana bread during brunch. I love it! Their night life is amazing! Never a dull moment there!
It is great place for BBQ dinner out. I just love this place . The food is just amazing and the service is really quick. They serve you the best chicken and fish here.
Great place for food drinks and music. Staff very pleasant.
From 3 stars to 4. Thanks, Andres. 6pm reservation. Had to ask for server, who showed up at 6:08. Water ordered was taken by hostess(okay), and then waitress took drink order. 6:17 we received drinks (a little slow, but not that bad). 6:20 server took food order (did not write it down, and she left the menus on the table) 6:40, entree arrives before appetizer. One item was apparently forgotten about entirely. If the server is reading this, I just want to say from personal experience: Always write it down. At some point, we stopped seeing the server who took our order, and this dude named Andres must have taken over. I don't know what the work load is like around this restaurant, but he was quick and attentive. It should also be noted that the food was very good. The initial review was going to be 3 stars, but Andres and the kitchen saved it.
Love coming here! Consistently good service and food options, from healthy dishes to more indulgent ones. The cozy ambiance is always appreciated :)
Great brunch. Loved the drink. Reasonably priced and the wait staff is on point.
B Bar & Gtill at 40 East 4th Street and Bowery is such a neat and fun place to have a meal or a cocktail or 2, and they have an outdoor patio that is huge. Summer time is here, and B Bar & Grill is the place to enjoy a cold beer and or some diner like food. Lots of enclosed outdoor space, and more on the outside on the Bowery. The staff looks pre occupied and bored, but they do warm up after a bit. Never seen the staff rude to the patrons, and usually happy especially during Happ Hour.
I'm a little bit late...7 months to be exact..but scrolling through some pictures of my last visit to NYC, I came across this picture and it brought back a great last-minute memory of me grabbing a nice long island tea while I waited for my Uber to the airport. The hostess was even nice enough to snap the picture you see attached. I was only there for 30 mins or so, but the service and ambiance of the bar were great. I will definitely visit again when I head back to NYC.
This place is SO CUTE. Went for brunch and it was delicious. We loved sitting outside in the garden. Highly recommend splitting a French toast along with your own breakfast plate. Can’t wait to go back!!
Very homie apps were good
Very cool atmosphere. Good was just okay. I got the cobb salad and my bf got the friends chicken sandwich.
Lots of healthy veggie options, delicious potato leek soup and brussels, crisp fresh baked bread and olive oil. Goegeous covered patio sunroom and fun artsy atmosphere with fast and friendly staff. Relaxing place to lunch within steps of an eclectic shopping neighborhood in the East Village with lots to do.
just ok really
Good food and drink, fun space, great service.
I came for breackfast on Sunday. Lovely service and it's been a while I didn't have a food experience like that ( and bieleve me I had a lot in France). Great value also. I will definitely come back. Merci
Great venue with a lot of space. With a mix of table space and a dance floor, this location is perfect for large groups.
So good. Amazing burgers. Good vibes.
Nice place to party, with a beautiful venue with out door access. Gets crowded. Top 40 music, mostly white crowd.
Sprawling, open restaurant that almost feels like the downtown area of a little foreign village. Beautiful, romantic place with lots of space and multiple bars. Only had a spiked iced coffee but it was lovely.
Great outdoor space
Good outdoor place! Prices are normal, they have a good choice of beers and food. The food i ordered (lamb burger) was excellent and with good portions. The service was correct.
Great servers and cocktails still a great bar and restaurant. The multiple indoor and outdoor spaces makes it a lovely place to go in all weather. The bathrooms are also done of the coolest I've ever been in. I'm glad this place is still around. I remember going here over 10 years ago - it hasn't changed much, and that's a good thing :-)
pricey menu but the ambiance and venue is a nice vibe
Fun club, no cover. Drink prices are (relatively) reasonable for a Manhattan club.
