Honestly they could charge $1.50 or even $2 and it would still be worth it, but $1 is an absolute steal. I usually add a heap of crushed red peppers, a dash of black pepper, and top it off with oregano. They have all of those, plus garlic, on the counter for free. I usually get 3 slices and leave a 1 dollar tip. They seem to be always busy, so it's always fresh. A few times I've been lucky enough to watch a pizza come out and be eating it less than 1 minute later, and darn is it good (if you can eat straight out of the oven). You can find better pizza, but I've never found a better way to spend a dollar in Manhattan (on anything)

Cheap pizza, good flavor, great price. Be advised, these stores are cash only. The pizza slices themselves are thin crust and a bit chewy, but the taste is excellent. Fast service, although the slices are only served on a thin paper plate with a few thin napkins and slightly greasy so it's not convenient if you plan to grab a slice to carry back to a hotel. Sometimes the people that loiter around the outside of the shop can be a bit annoying and there's no place to sit and eat on-site. Just grab a slice and eat on the go.

As a self proclaimed pizza connoisseur, this place gets my whole hearted seal of approval. Pizza is excellent, gentleman behind the counter was friendly and greeted me and the 4 or 5 others that walked in while I was there with a smile. I would definitely go back. I got a whole pepperoni pie and it came out quickly and was delicious.

$1 slices, buy 3 slices and get a box. Buy 2 slices and a drink for $2.75. You just can't beat those prices in this part of NYC. The pizza is thin, it's not a $3.75 slice, but if you are on a budget, want a great tasting but cheap slice, you won't be able to beat this spot. All you have to do is see the line they have out the door every day. It's packed becuase it's great value. And if you are really hungry, I am pretty sure am 18 inch pie is $8. You will have lunch for a week and it will taste just as good cold as it does warm. I highly recommend to anyone wanting a quick cheap slice of NYC pizza.

Great pizza, great prices. Cheesy, slightly greasy slices with thin crusts--just the way they should be! Service is fast and kind; they gave us the remaining parmesan that they were saving it for their own dinner, since the new shipment wouldn't be in until Monday morning. Cash only, $8 for an 18" pie cut in 8 slices, $2.75 for 2 slices and a can of soda.

One of the first of these $.99 pizza places. There are less of these around NYC. This place has stayed 99 cents and stayed good quality. It is a plus that this place has ALL the basic condiments (grated cheese, hot sauce, oregano.. ) you can shake onto your slice! So many other 99 cent or $1.50 pizza don't offer these choices. And aren't all that friendly.

Fresh pizza anytime. When I go home late, i stop at this place to pick few slices to home. Staff is good and I always get freshly made pizza right out of oven. I have tried only their regular pizza. I have seen people ordering many variants too. There is always cue, however they are quick in delivering. It's best for take rather than eating at the place coz of some crowd especially @night.

There are often beggars asking for a dollar which is not a huge deal but is bad for the atmosphere factor. This place does not have any seating which is kind of a bummer. Probably the best grab-n-go pizza in town. Always perfect crust, crunchy, but never burnt. Just the right blend of cheese, tomato, salt and oil. These guys have been around for ages in the same spot and they perfected their simple pizza. Obviously, you can't beat the price.

Order your piece with a topping so it gets freshly heated. Then it has a wonderful light and crispy crust that was great. The plain cheese piece I got was taken from an aluminum tray, and the crust on that piece was soggy by the time I ate it. The mushrooms I got as topping on the first were pale, canned things, not repulsive, but nothing to look forward to. Get a different topping.
