The food was incredible. From the appetizers to the steak to their dessert - everything was perfect. Especially their famous 24K Gold Kobe Beef Steak! The service was great as well. Imran and his staff were so friendly & welcoming. They accommodated our big party an hour earlier than our reservation and took great care of us throughout the night. I highly recommend this restaurant - it's truly a unique experience.

Restaurant was amazing. We went to 212 during the holidays and got to try many items. We tried the Mediterranean salad as well as salmon ceviche. My favorite was the zucchini chips. For main course we had almost everything, from lamb chops to chicken to Kobe beef. The presentation of the Kobe was flawless and everything was cooked perfect. The waitress was great also and she helped us with whatever we needed. The staff seems very happy and take pride in working there. Will visit again once we are back in NYC!

We had heard about the truffle mashed potatoes and they did not disappoint. Good meal .Reasonable . Nice ambiance. I recommend going on a Monday night . Quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle of nyc . Cucumber cooler drink was refreshing and Alex the bartender was friendly to all .

First time at 212 steakhouse and it was wonderful. The hosts and waiters were so nice and helpful. What we order was grilled octopus, shrimp cocktail, and tried their new Gold Kobe Steak. The gold Kobe steak was one of their new dishes and it was incredible. The gold was glistening and the Kobe Steak was cooked perfectly! When I took a bite of it. WoW!! It like melted in my mouth so soft and juicy. It was absolutely amazing. Just thinking about it makes me want it more!

It was a horrible experience ! We waited an hour and a half and still no food. When asked the waiter what was taking so long. He got mad and really rude. So we left. But thanks to him. We came here to try out some Wagyu beef. It was so delicious. But something surprising is that their mashed potatoes was extremely tasty. They are homemade. Do yourself a favor and eat here when visiting Manhattan. Food and service is worth it. :)

First, there were no host to welcome us, and we were looking for waiter to give us a table, even though we had a reservation. After being seated, we were waiting for the menu for some time. Staff isn't to polite. After dinner, which was really good, we got bill with the bottle of expensive wine then we asked waiter to get us and checked with him is that the one we ordered. Overall experience was ruined by that.

Living in New York, it’s hard to find a restaurant that really impresses you with the food, ambiance, AND service. However, 212 Steakhouse exceeded all my expectations! The food was absolutely stellar ranging from the tasty appetizers like the creamy burrata and lobster bisque to the extensive selection of high quality steaks and meats. It was my first time having Kobe beef and I was mind blown by the melt in your mouth texture. The quality and taste of the food here is on another level. Everything is cooked and seasoned just perfectly. The staff was so patient explaining different items on the menu and making sure we were happy with our dinner. I can’t wait to go back again soon!!

This was my favorite dinner from my recent trip to NYC. We stopped by 212 Steakhouse last weekend for a nice dinner and were pleasantly surprised. This low key steakhouse has amazing food and splendid craft cocktails. I had the short rib which was delicious, 10/10. My friend tried the COD and it was melt in your mouth another 10/10. The service was great, our server was very communicate and took amazing care of us from start to finish. I recommend 212 Steakhouse. Thansk for an awesome visit!

!!!BEWARE!!! We came here on Jan 29 2019 for my wife’s Birthday and had the worst possible experience imaginable. We anticipated having the Kobe beef as it’s advertised to be one of 8 authorized restaurants in the US to serve it. After being seated and given menu’s, we were told that they DID NOT HAVE any KOBE BEEF (which is one of the main items on their menu)!!! Other than 2oz. portions of a single cut. We were beyond disappointed as we came specifically to have it. The host at no time prior to our arrival told us that this was the case. They told us we could come back the next day maybe or the day after if we liked - still unsure of exactly when they would have it available. They also suggested that we should have asked if they had some before arriving. In 22 years of living in New York and eating out for many of those years I have never seen the total lack of customer service and suspect excuses this place gave us. If I could give less than one star I would. This place should be avoided at all costs!!!

Unfortunately, this place is quite hit or miss as some of the other reviews have mentioned. Food quality was decent but definitely a tier below the famous steakhouses around town. The service was a huge let down: no explanation of drink menu, piece of plastic found in water, slow service along with no apologies from the waiters. Do yourself a favor and take yourself to one of the more well known steakhouses instead.

Great food and service! We started off with a French onion soup, grilled calamari and risotto to share. All excellent dishes especially the truffle risotto. We also shared a 50oz porterhouse steak and a side of mushrooms. Plenty of food for 4 when sharing all these dishes!

I was in town for meetings with modeling agencies, and I wanted to celebrate with a big meal. I went out with my boyfriend and my best friend for steaks and lamb chops! Luciano was fantastic! He seemed to do everything- manager, server, bartender, etc. Our experience was lovely and the food was fantastic! Went to 212 with my friends over the weekend to celebrate my birthday. It was an amazing experience, the staff was also very nice. We just ordered a bunch of appetizers and zucchini chips and the octopus really stood out. For main course I had a Kobe tasting and my girls ordered a different variety of steaks and sides. Everything was cooked to perfection. This place is really a hidden gem.

Restaurant wasn’t empty but wasn’t too packed either, spoke to the table besides us and they said they were regulars here, and we live around the block so we decided to give It a chance, and wow I don’t know how to explain the lobster Mac and cheese but It was so good, and the Kobe beef is to die for. The experience was amazing, we tried to Kobe tasting and had a regular NY strip, you’ll taste the difference for sure! And please remember to get mashed potatoes

My second visit here was just as lovely as the first! Luciano is a wonderful server, with a great personality. All the staff are very attentive. Food doesn't take long to arrive, always delicious, and flavorful. I love the creamed spinach. My only reason for a four star rating, opposed to five, is because the food is quite expensive, and the portions are pretty small for what you pay. I used a Groupon both times, and still ended up paying around $50. This is not an everyday place to eat. But, if you're looking to treat yourself, or someone else, I know you'll be impressed!

My father my sister and I were very late for the reservation time , i called , a very cool guy answered the phone and told me , dot worry Mr Ruiz the cheff will wait for u , come over . It was almost 10 pm . We arrived and that nice voice received us at the door and guide us to our table which was next to the window, the restaurant had it last clients paying the bill while we sat down. Suddenly we had very warm ppl around us trying to make our experience unique . We all took steaks , the Australian wagyu t bine the new york strip and a burger , yes a burger that was quite expensive. My first try to the t bone was gesture changing , smooth like butter , perfectly cooked to my indications ( rare) juicy and with a taste i wont forget in a while . Even the burger was out of this world My father who had the ny strip was amazed and his first words were , wow this is something special ... a good critic out of his mouth is something rare . Thank you guys of 212 , you made our night that day .

Wow this steak house is simply the best. I'm a foodie that travels the world in search of fine food. Now this doesn't have a mich start that being said that you must try the A-1 Kobe steak. It is 100% worth the price. Hard to explain the flavor buttery meaty amazingness. its up to you to go and dine at 212. Also Anthony the chef is top notch and very talented. We ate with Mary the bartender/servershe made everthing that much better. She made me feel comfortable about spending money on amazing food nothing worse than someone with a bad attitude when your about to have an top notch dinner. All in all a 4.9 in my book. A must do while in New York if food is your thing.

I came here during a promotion they held last summer which included a complimentary plate of pasta with the purchase of a beverage. I thought this sounded like a wonderful opportunity as I'd never been. The location was beautiful, dimly lit, warm and inviting. The server brought out some rolls and butter which were warm and pillowy. Once the entree came, spaghetti with meatballs, I was a little bit worried that it wouldn't be enough food. The bowl was deceptively small, however, and once I started eating, it was enough to satisfy my hunger. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the meatballs were moist, juicy and well seasoned. There was a sufficient amount of sauce to coat all the strands of pasta and I found myself wanting to lick the bowl when I was finished. That is the sign of a great meal!

Food was delicious. I had the zucchini chips, pear salad with goat cheese and short ribs with truffle mashed potatoes. The zucchini chips were perfectly crisp and came with dill sauce. Excellent combination. I loved the combination of sweet from the pears and tart for the goat cheese in my pear salad. And my short ribs, which came with a delicious sauce, were tender and tasty. The perfect combination to go with the truffle mash potatoes which were just as delicious. My husband had the seafood for two and lamb chops. The seafood for two included oysters, 1/2 lobster and octopus. It was plentiful and fresh. The lamb chops included brussel sprouts which I love and some kind of cheddar grit or paletta. All I know is it was delicious! Sorry. No pics.

Absolutely top notch in every way! The restaurant itself looks great but has this amazing feeling that you are not somewhere trying to hard. I had the lobster bisque and strip along with assorted sides for us all to share. Everything was cooked to perfection and just melted in my mouth. If I have any complaints it's that they left me no room to fit any desert hahah. If you are looking for some amazing steak in midtown you need to make a reservation here. You will not be disappointed.

Very expensive....Don’t let the online menu trick you it says $28 for a ribeye and when you get there it’s 28 per OUNCE.Other than that it was very hot and multiple people agreed and they didn’t fix the problem.Its a nice restaurant if you have $500 just laying around.

The staff does say that once you eat the Kobe Beef, you’ll have a hard time eating regular beef. They live up to what they say, I have never had beef so tender, where one stroke with a knife would be enough to cut it in half. Fortunately, we came during their promotion period, so we got the Kobe Beef for free, so it we were glad that we were able to try all the three cuts, and all of them were delicious!

It was the best place, took my girlfriend out here, the steak and the atmosphere was great, the staff and the servers were great. I came down from Texas and had to try this place. The gold steak is a must. Def will come again.

I rarely write reviews but 212 Steakhouse was so amazing that I had to ! As soon as you enter, you're greeted by one of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered. The ambience is best described as a lovely mixture of intimate yet exclusive. Now for the food, I ordered a tomahawk steak that was cooked to perfection. It looked so amazing I had to take this picture. I will definitely be coming back for the tomahawk steak. My date ordered the kobe beef and said she finally understood what the big deal was. I might have to try that next time but I will definitely be coming back ! UPDATE: I had written the initial review over 5 months ago and I have to say, I love 212 Steakhouse more now than I had before ! This spot is amazing and has become my go-to steakhouse. I love the Kobe Beef as it has a very unique flavor to it. The owner is extremely nice and always comes by the table and says hello. I love this establishment! 10/10

Great place for Steaks. Ordered the expensive Kobe, Australian Wagyu beef steak and USAD prime meats. The steaks were cooked to medium rare as asked. Brilliant service. Great choice of wines. Excellent ambiance. Octopus salad was brilliant as a starter. Broccoli fries, Ceviche were soo good. Expensive but good for a night out with family.

I visited NYC for the holidays and went to 212 for Christmas. They were really busy but did great with the food and service. Sasha was a great server and made me feel very welcomed. I had the octopus to start and for my main I recommend the Kobe Tasting, one day I’ll buy the 24K Gols Kobe. I had the Lobster Mac for sides with the mashed potatoes, it was amazing. I would highly recommend 212 to anyone who likes steak.

I don't give 5 stars ever. 4 is hard to get by even my unjustified starndards. Service here was amazing. In fact, more amazing than the prices justify. We had a huge group this past weekend and not only was the food timely, but WAS COOKED PERFECTLY. Every dish. We had all had different cuts of meat and it all came out at the same time and perfect. Drink service was a bit slower since they don't have a designated bartender and I wouldn't order off menu for drinks. Things on the menu was great. Was a pricey meal but worth every penny. Totally off the beaten path but worth going to. Looking for a quick meh meal. Not here. Was there for 3 hours but was amazing and will 100% come back. Did I mention we had 12 people and it was only 3 hours? Thank you to the staff, you guys are awesome. We felt welcomed and things went very smooth

I had purchased a Groupon for my sister in law and one for myself. We used it today because it was my niece's birthday. When my brother and I arrived we went to ask if we were able to sit at the same table and Mary said sure no problem. She said she would set up our table while we waited for the remainder of our group to show up. For appetizers we ordered 2 grilled octopus, a dozen of the prince Edward island oysters and jumbo shrimp cocktail. For sides we ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, sauteed mushrooms, truffle mashed and marble potatoes. Main entrees we ordered dry aged bone in ribeye, filet mignon and 2 new York strip. We had more than enough food and had leftovers to take home. I had ordered ahead of time the dessert (chocolate souffle) for my niece's birthday. The Everything was delicious. The staff was so nice, courteous and very friendly. This made our first experience great and would definitely go back.

We went here for my birthday. We were not disappointed with the Kobe Beef. It was my first time trying it and I just couldn't imagine that it could be much different from other expensive cuts of beef. I was wrong. It was amazing. The ribeye had so much flavor, I can't wait to have more. The lobster bisque was a pleasant surprise as sometimes it's hard to find places that make it well.

My girlfriend and I went for Valentine’s Day and let’s just say that they go the extra mile to make your Valentine’s Day dinner super romantic. We reserved a table and upon showing up she was given a single red rose. When seating us they had our table covered in rose pedals. It was definitely a great first experience. We ordered a 32oz Waygu porter house cooked medium rare and a 2 Lb Maine lobster. We also ordered a bottle of wine for about $60. Definitely all worth the price as the food is amazingly delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection and the lobster as well. We will definitely be back!

I came in at lunch and expected there to be no Kobe beef. I was dead wrong... not only was there Kobe beef, the service was OUTSTANDING!!! The waitress went through each type of meat with me and went in-depth for the flavor and everything. Overall I loved it and they were very welcoming to us. I would definitely recommend it to others.
