A place where everything is amazing.. from the food the the service

Fletcher Johnson

The atmosphere is very nice and the food is delicious. The wait to get seated was pretty long though.

veronica bonney

ORDERED TAKE OUT THEY GOT MY ORDER WRONG. I ORDERED THE RANDY TRAVIS NO BEANS RICE AND POSOLE. PLATE WAS FILLED WITH BEANS AND THE PORK CHOPS WERE SO TOUGH ALMOST NEEDED A CHAIN SAW TO CUT THEM. SOPAPILLAS ARE GREAT.

Gerry Dent

Stopped for a late evening dessert and coffee for 3. Nice atmosphere, good service

L Tru

Our waitress had her head shaved except for a pink ponytail...and I cant remember the last time we got such wonderful service!! I wish I would have gotten her name but she was wonderful! Such a great personality. Now the food...also great!! The chicken stuffed sopapilla was delicious!! My husband really loved the enchiladas and menudo. So glad we gave it a chance, will definitely be returning! Highly recommend

Cameron Hocker

The food here is amazing. I have no idea what type of cheese they use, but it is the best. It makes the meal.

Jason Albritton

The food was a bit of a let down. They serve the standard New Mexican Cuisine, but the salsa was so infused with garlic, we barely touched it. Also, chips and salsa are considered an apitizer and are not free. Keep your expectations in check on this one.

Natasha Espana

Great service during lunch hour, hard to find during the week. Did is always great, carne adovada is definitely one of my favorites.

Richard Flores

Went to lunch on 2/16/19 with wife, daughter and granddaughter. The food was excellent and the service was very good. The red chile was perfect in flavor, texture and heat. We were seated almost immediately, and the server was friendly, attentive and efficient. She checked on us every ten minutes, or so. Only thing that I thought was odd was that salsa and chips were not complimentary. Most New Mexican food restaurants give complimentary salsa and chips. Nevertheless, I ordered salsa and chips, and although the salsa was excellent, the serving seemed kind of skimpy for four adults. Other than the salsa and chips, the food at this place is the kind of quality to induce me to return.

John Olivias

Food is great. Some things people don't realize is beans have certain tastes. In a Crock-Pot or in a pressor cooker. The beans tastes kinda like they were made in a pressor cooker with a hint of chicos. I haven't had that taste in a good while. A must for everyone to try.

Erik Tolendino

Bland and boriy. Better off going somewhere else.

Jan B

Great service and tasty food! Tostada salad was excellent and bountiful. Others at the table loved the carne andovada.

Paula Campbell

Really enjoy this food it's reasonable and very fresh! The staff is so courteous and consistently checked on us and we even took some to go!

Zachary Drew

Second only to the original Tomasita's for New Mexican cuisine. Nice atmosphere, busy but not too loud. Quick and accurate servers were attentive without being annoying. Will not break your budget.

Terry Maguire

My daughter loves this place. They have guacamole and cheese quesadilla that don't have chili! I like the chili not real hot. Good service

Jenni Walker

The same fabulous New Mexican food as at their Santa Fe location. This is a family run wonderful business... A must to take your out of town guests to for the real thing! But we go as locals, too... Just go!

Natalie Jaramillo

Always great food great service

Jennifer Borkowski

Enjoyed sangria swirl... Better at happy hour prices. Tried chili relleno ...tasty would have enjoyed two for $10 instead of just one . Deliciouso!

Teaghan Smith

Great place. Super friendly staff.

Evelyn Ward

It was okay I wish they had ground beef tacos that would be nice

Derek Cross

Very consistent with food and service. Comfortable with a nice atmosphere. One of our favorites.

Julia Zubia

Enjoyed everything friendly, clean great new mexican cuisine and sopapillas

Stephen P

I have not been to Tomasitas since I lived in Santa Fe at least 20 years ago. I don't remember it being all that good but my dinner tonight was awesome. The salsa was so hot it burned for a while yet I kept eating it just like a true New Mexican. The rest of our food was amazing. We had the super combo and the stuffed sopaipilla plates. I will be back!

Jeff Downs

Valerie did great as our server and they had an awesome local beer selection. The swirl margaritas put everyone under the table. I suggest coming early and getting a pre dinner drink!

Jocelyn Harvey

Mostly very good, but I had the chicken enchiladas and the chicken was a little chewy or tough like something that was microwaved. The posole was bland. Margaritas were okay. They also messed up our reservation.

Bobbie V

DELICIOUS! Everything I have tried here has been yummy! The best sopapillas with honey butter I have ever had!

Brenda Pugh

I love Tomasitas! Food and service always great. Do not like that you can't call ahead to be placed on the list.

Teresa Romero

Great food. Nice ambience

Joseph Enger

Food was awesome! Best new Mexican cuisine in Albuquerque.

Robert Brumley

Great food, responsible prices, good service. We'll go again. Of note is they charge for what other Mexican restaurants provide as a gift for just coming in. And there was much confusion when our dinner came out in waves. When it was all said and done we had a pile of extra food. Everyone is trying but this needs management attention... improve service and reduce food waste.

marcie trujillo

Came for an awards dinner banquet. Server was very attentive and the food, Enchilada!big plate! There is one in s.fe too! Enjoy!

David Swanson

Getting better. High standard to live up to. Stif competition.

Peter Baca

Very good food as all ways. Our waitress seemed a little busy for us. She did not pay a lot of attention to us without us flagging her down

ksmarty1

Great place, nice atmosphere, friendly service and good food.

Angee m

Great red chile. Smoky flavor. Hot salsa with tasty chips. Big combination plates to share. The service was lacking a little charm, however the food was tasty.

Gary Giunta

This location the food was good. I enjoyed the southwestern chicken salad and a bowl of tortilla soup. I wish Tomasita's had more southwestern dishes to choose from.

Michelle Torma

Great place, hot & spicy food. Fantastic service!!

Robert Gutierrez

food is busting with flavor. everyone are professional and fun. thanks

Frank Cisneros

I really enjoyed it. I finally got to have my favorite meal. 4 Red rolled Enchiladas with 2 eggs over easy, rice and beans, and 2 giant Sopapillas, Iced tea, and iced water. Mmmm, mmmm!!!! Now that I know exactly where they are, I'am going to try and stop by a little more often. The service was great my Waitress Valerie was great and has a great personality. Hopefully she stays there. Thanks for the great food Tomasitas, Albuquerque.

Jessica Purdy

Great food and great service. The chile rellenos are to die for. Their salsa is fresh and has a kick to it. Everything was delicious.

Roberta David

This was my first visit here and it was a good experience. Food was good. I wish they had shredded beef instead of roast beef. Green chili had a lil kick. Our waitress, Valerie was pretty attentive.

Ann Brooks

The food was very good, service great, atmosphere pleasant.

Dan Gibbons

New review, I deleted my old review. Our second trip to Tomasita's was much better than the first. The Chili Relleno's are very good. Salsa ,although a very small serving was tasty. Service still spotty. Good menu

Amelia Chavez

Pretty tasty. The service was adequate. The red chile is tasty on the enchiladas. The honey butter for the sopapillas is a revelation!

John Marrs

I wanted to like it. I really did. It's ok. Service was good but they have the same stuff every other Mexican restaurant in Albuquerque has. Except fajitas. Not sure why. It was all fine but nothing really stood out.

Bobbi Webb

Great food and great service. The honey butter served with the sopapillas is heavenly. The only thing that would make it better is if chips & salsa were complimentary!

JoAnna Harvey

We had a reservation, but were told our party could not be seated until at least half the party was there, once half our party was there they told us our table was being set, after 15 minutes we inquired about our table and were told they had a lot of large parties that evening. After explaining we had a reservation, that our table should be priority, the manager was nice enough to seat us. Our server Ava was great! She was very professional and courteous. Great service with a table top of 9. The food and drinks came out quick and was very tasty.

rudy tafoya

Very good food and customer service.

Fill Jeantete

I had such an amazing time there. They hosted a private event with The Dinner Detective and they couldn't have done a better job accommodating there needs. The services Jesus and Brigid took care of the entire room with ease. Incredible service! Also the host Eva was so on top of things everything ran super smooth. And to top it all off the food was outstanding. Highly recommend stopping by!

Janea Torres

I do not even have enough good words to use for our lunch today. The chile was hot and perfectly seasoned. I had Christmas, the red was perfect and the green was even better! Growing up in Santa Fe Tomasita's was a treat for special occasions that came with usually a long wait. We had no wait, amazing service, just an over all great lunch.

Patrick Brenner

Amazing. We had a great waiter. Super friendly and helpful. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with Christmas chile and an over easy egg. Delicious.

Benjie Ortiz

James and D are the best. Great selection. This was my first time here amd i was treated like a regular. Loved it. 10/5

Jen M.

The food was not bad, but it was kinda bland. Probably because the chiles are spicy as heck. Too spicy for us.

Aquamdax Daes

Food was amazing, large portions, green chile was homemade and spicy and perfect

Terri Dorcas

We love Tomasita’s in Santa Fe. The Albuquerque location is nice but isn't quite the same. Never the less we are glad they are here. Definitely a piece of New Mexico history.

Sara S

Awesome food and huge portions. Ordered GLUTEN FREE and got freshly made GF chips. Louisa was our server and was great.

Joe Macias

It was the worse Mexican food I've had in Albuquerque. Not good, it tasted sour, the carnne adovada was terrible, the beef enchilada was very strong, the meat was loud in the pellet. I'm being extremely honest, as I eat at all the great Mexican establishments in Albuquerque. Don't think they will last long in Albuquerque. May be good for Grigos but for us that know better! Won't go back sorry for the bad input but I'm telling the truth.

Larry Blue

Terrible customer service from the moment we walked in. Definitely will not be returning to this restaurant.

Jackson M

Atmosphere was great.. Waitress (Tina was amazing. Prices very reasonable.. Food was good however portions were rather small and nothing like their commercials.. I had the porkchops beans and green chili.. Pork chops were tough and rubbery.. Hard to eat.. Had to request additional chili to spread over the chops. For our first visit, we were not very pleased nor impressed..

Erny Melia

Outstanding carne adovada. Sopapillas were huge and amazing and the honey butter was a perfect add on.

Alice Fox

Consistent service and food. I've never had to wonder where my meal is here, and get a very consistent dish. I usually get the chapulas, but the stuffed sopapilla and combination plate are super tasty! The complimentary sopapillas with honey butter hits the spot every time!

Devin Gonzales

Food is amazing! Friendly staff, good service. I'm not even a big fan of chili rellenos but their chile relleno is the bomb! You can't beat the honey butter for the sopas!

Jeff Dahl

Excellent green chile and sopaipillas. The menu is not tailored to anyone on a diet, so be forewarned.

William Grow

This place has some great food. The atmosphere is relaxed nice place to sit down and enjoy a good meal. The staff was pleasant to work with, very attentive to our needs. Would totally recommend. The green chili sauce was good, right amount of heat and great flavor, awesome guac as well.

randy sakamoto

Fairly solid New Mexican taste. Red Chile flavor is very good. A bit loud when they are busy and the energy can be frenetic depending on the presence of large party tables etc. Wait staff is attentive and food comes out fairly prompt. Chile tastes can vary from one New Mexican restaurant to the next. With that said, we liked this one for sure. Prices are comparable to Sadie's, Garduños, Monroe's, etc.

Salazar Salazar

Great food. Great service

Jay Peters

Went in on Friday night to grab some dinner after work. Decided to sit at the bar and was not disappointed. James and Candace made the visit fun and we're attentive to my needs without being overbearing. Will definitely go back because of the food and service. Highly recommend!!

Nate Johnson

So glad we stopped here for dinner the night before heading home with the family it was a great joyous Mill that we all enjoyed my favorite was the tortilla soup and the sopa pia

Lenny Lucero

The food is excellent. Very roomy & tables are not crowded together.

Rose Wiest

Great place, food, atmosphere, service and pricing. You cant go wrong. We had a large group for dinner tried all the appetizers it's called The Works YUM! we had stuffed sopapillas, blue corn enchilada plate, others taco plate, carne adovada, steak dinner. Omg. Stop reading and get to eating, you won't regret it. Outstanding Customer Service.

Poppa Wheelie

Chile rellenos were tasty, but I liked the puffy flat bread that were served instead of tortillas. Reminded me of Indian nan.

Nadi Da

I love the friendly, comfortable atmosphere of Tomasita's. The food and service were great! I'll definitely be back!

Tamera Maes

My boyfriend and I were super excited to have Tomasita’s in town. But After getting sat and waiting about 20 minutes and still not getting any service we decided to leave. Oh well. Two thumbs down.

Dino Pena

As a senior Google reviewer, When I visit a new establishment I always notice what's disappointing, and what makes a place special. Living in Albuquerque, New Mexico I am a big-time Red and Green Chile fan, and I was in the mood for a New Mexican cuisine. I heard of a new New Mexican restaurant that opened up, and I wanted to try it. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I recommend the Sandia Ribeye Steak Plate! To be honest I couldn't find anything wrong with this establishment. Two toes and two thumbs straight up!

Richard Krukar

First time here, stopped in for lunch. There was a wait for the dining room, but an open table in the bar. Perfect. Ordered a beer and a sandwich. Endless cups and salsa until the food arrived. Friendly staff. Good food good beer.

Doris

Delicious food n great service.

Tim Shaver

Just terrific. Food, service, everything right on point. And if you like a little heat, they bring it. We will be back very soon!

Ernesto Martinez

The server was very courteous, very professional, quick to take our order and always checking to see if we needed anything. First time and will not be the last. Will spred the word in Roswell. Thanks good job. God bless Deacon Ernesto and Carolina Martinez.

Missy Leigh

Food was great, service was great! Friendly staff and good salsa!

Von Marie Freyre

Good ambiance, delicious food, good service

Elaine Handy

Service was incredibly fast. What's they took our order it seems like we had food in 5 minutes. That could be an exaggeration but it was very quick.

Debra Gutierrez

Good was good, the hosts/cashier wasn't nice, and I don't care for servers with rings in their noses.

Rawhead Rex

We had my grandma’s 80th birthday celebration in their private room and hosted family from all over the country. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and inviting. They let us set up the room in a particular way and put up our …

The Wicked Lizard

Bland describes my visit to this establishment. The wait staff is clueless and unconcerned. The restaurant seems lazy. I am guessing no one has eaten real Mexican food, so they give this place good reviews. It is barely mediocre. I know its "New" Mexican cuisine, I guess that explains the laziness.

Margy Green

Great food but Sopas don't come with meal

Elisa Mascarenas

Good vibes, was a bit busy but worth it. Loved the sangria slushie... very tasty. Staff was very polite and quick paced.

Jeri Arviso

I liked it. We all did. Took some out of state friends to try our local cuisine. They enjoyed the food. I still much prefer the Santa Fe location...

donna van diepen

Good food. Great staff

Rita Marquez

Food was good. After getting ready to leave tables were pulled out since place was.getting ready to close. Had to walk sideways to get out. Seems they should have been more courtesy to help us exit.

RogueParticle

Excellent food, staff and ambiance. This is one of my favorite New Mexican restaurants. I Highly recommend them.

***I HAVE NEVER LEFT A REVIEW BEFORE BUT FELT THE NEED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED *** Came to Tomasita’s Albuquerque on May 24 2019 at 8pm for dinner with some friends (there were 6 of us). We arrived about 10 minutes later but our friends were already seated, the server had already brought waters to the table and one of our friends had ordered a beer. When my husband and I arrived he ordered a beer right away while I asked for a few minutes to look over the drink menu. My friend and I finally decided on the Sangria. While we waited for the sangria we were talking when one of friends saw do something fall from the ceiling onto the table. He looked around and realized it was a COCKROACH!!!!!!!! He slammed it with the menu to kill it. At that point our server came with our Sangria and we asked to speak to the manager. Several minutes later the manger came and we showed her the roach. She was completely very embarrassed and proceeded to say they fumigate all the time and she did apologize and asked if there was anything she could do to make this right, like move us somewhere else? We unanimously agreed that we just wanted the check and we would go somewhere else. The manager said of course, she understood and she left. She came back a few minutes later and said she took care of the whole bill which was 2 beers that were only half drank and we didn’t even touch the sangria, appreciated but nonetheless we will NEVER return again which is a shame because my husband and our friends love Tomasita’s in Santa Fe (this would have only been my 3rd time here). Oh and to make this experience even more exciting, when we walked out to walk next door to Cheddars there were several cockroaches outside the doors. Tomasita’s definitely can’t say it’s like that everywhere outside because we literally didn't see any at the restaurant that’s empty next door or even walking across the rocks going to Cheddars or even at the Cheddars parking lot. On the up side, Cheddars was great!!

Colene Ledbetter

Wonderful food and service. Not as good a vibe as the Santa Fe restaurant. It was a steak restaurant and the dark beams need to be a warm golden color. Ceiling needs tin tiles. Fireplace needs stucco and tiles. Flooring color changed.

Michelle Venable

I just came back from dinner and this was my very FIRST time eating at Tomasita's. I had a great time! Bridget was our waitress and she was patient and pleasant. She has a bright smile, as well. Let me talk about the food... I would HIGHLY recommend the Chimayo plate. It comes with a pork tamale, ground beef enchilada with rice and beans. I was kind of hungry, so l added a ground beef taco. The tamale was stuffed with tender meat. The hard shell taco was yummy and full of meat (not greasy at all) and the enchilada was pretty meaty, too. In all, my food was fresh and tasty. The sopapillas are HUGE. They are light and fluffy...just melts in your mouth with that scrumptious honey butter. Last but not least, I built up the courage to try the margarita swirl. This is a must at Tomasita's. It packs a punch but it's nice and refreshing. One was enough for me, plus where else in town are you going to get such an exquisite drink like that? I'm so glad to have discovered this gem of a place. This was a real treat for me, thanks Tomasita's I will definitely be back!

Michele Jaramillo

Celebrated my mother in laws birthday here, Everything was perfect! They let us do reservations for a party of 13 & let us bring in our own cake too! Will definitely be going back again. The margarita swirls are awesome too!

Jeremiah Moralez

Upon my second lunch at Tomasita's I received a delicious, reasonably priced meal. The server was very attentive and polite, as she kept everyone at our table of six well served by keeping our beverages full. My only dislike is that they do not include chips and salsa in the price of the meal in that they are an additional charge.

S Aragon

Wonderful food and exceptional service. The place has a terrific atmosphere. Full bar and happy hour specials. Love all the local beer options. Not an expansive menu but still a good amount to choose from. They do charge for chips and salsa but to their credit its delicious and they do say if you check in on Insta or Facebook its free so we of course checked in. They gave the kids veggies and ranch which was great snack for them.

Littleton Woods

The Menudo was fantastic full of flavor and the tripe didn't have a gamey taste. The ribeye was flavorful but tough and chewy. The Nachos was tasty but not enough meat and way too heavy on the beans. Wait staff and host were friendly and inviting. Sopapillas were hot and fresh and paired perfectly with their local honey.

Vince L

Nice atmosphere and the food portions were just right.

Javier Ramos

Food was good! Our server Lala, was in the least intrested in adequately serving us. She failed to refill our waters until we requested refills, for her other tables she took a pitcher and refill all their waters. I reccomend the restaurant but not the server.

Jim Robertson

It's a great place to visit the people are great the food is great and very tasty but spicy. It is the authentic Mexican American culture food which is the best and most exciting way to eat instead of toco bell or other fast food places. AND A NOTE TO YOU I AM NOT CONDESCENDING YOU YOU ALL ARE ARE GREAT IN YOUR OWN RIGHT I WAS JUST SAYING THE TASTE DIFFERENCE

J Mohn

Atmosphere absolutely beautiful .. food of course is amazing... BUT what gave them 3 stars was the Immaturity of the staff cussing complaining about low ball tips and talking very inappropriately dear owners and managers that's a must fix

Eric Barrera

Very tasty food. The chili was very good with the bread. Tamale was excellent. Just the right blend of spices.

Roger Souther

Crispy chile relleno! And fluffy sopopillas with honey butter! Awesome!

Jerry Monarch

Food and service are great. There are many "Mexican" restaurants in New Mexico, this is one of the best. We have eaten at their restaurant in Santa Fe several times. We have never felt rushed even during the lunch crowd.

Simone Lucero

The food is delicious and fresh! But I feel the staff could be more friendly.

Blu Otero

Fantastic!! The service here is prompt and friendly and the food is superb! Definitely wholeheartedly recommend, the green Chile is tasty without being too hot. The atmosphere is nice and cozy as well in the restaurant. They were very friendly and accommodating with my blind mother, I cannot suggest them enough for your next place to stop and have a bite.

Carlos Montoya

I love this place! Great staff, awesome food and swirl margaritas!

James Garcia

Service was fine. Just can't get good New Mexican food anymore, have to go to Colorado for tasty chili.
