One of our favorite local restaurants! I always recommend this to our out-of-state friends and visitors... The nachos, blackened salmon, and amaretto bread pudding are must-haves but everything on the menu is excellent!

Back for brunch at the Range near Cottonwood Mall. A nice experience again. I had an omelet--well cooked, not overdone as many places serve them. My wife had an eggs-Benedict variation with a cheese sauce instead of a hollandaise sauce. The coffee was good, though I still would like it a bit stronger. They are slightly reducing their menu starting this week, but a quick look shows that most the standard items will still be available. Overall, one of the better places for a nice brunch on the West side.

My husband and I have been going to this restaurant for 30 yrs. but on Tue Aug. 6 , we stopped by for pie and coffee and the food was awful. The coconut cream pie was like glue and the cream on top was not good, it appeared that a new not talented baker had taken over. Very disappointed.

The place definitely deserves more than two stars. Unfortunately, they won’t be getting it from me. If you’re looking for prompt, good service this is not the place for you. The food is fabulous but due to the bad service it will leave you wondering why you put yourself through through this. Take out is even worse. If you’re young with kids don’t even think of going to the Range - they will treat you and your children like dirt.

This is great place! Lots of local and regional color. Lots of art or on display and for sale. Easy to access and meet people whether a large or a small group. Cozy seating options. Wonderful food options with a wide variety. Bakery and hot drinks are awesome! The sweets at this place always fantastic. The gift shop is also just great! They feature local artists as well as one of a kind items at extreme reasonable prices. This is a great place to find something for a person that has everything. :-). A very well managed facility. Overall a fantastic place to treat yourself and your friends.

What a great place to eat. Food was delicious. Husband had chicken bacon pasta special which he repeated when we went back. I, the non-breakfast person, had their top breakfast pick which was total tops. Almost had it again the second visit however opted to try the chicken fried steak which was great too. Our friend had a burger and was expressing his delight from the first bite. Made me want to take a bite of his, but alas he’s a new friend so guess we‘ll Good back and get our own next time.

Seating comfortable, not crowded. Decor not as interesting as the Bernalillo location, but nice. It was Sunday around 1: 30 pm. Waited over 30 minutes for food - we did not have specials or anything complicated. Waiter gave no reason for delay. Told us food would be there soon, kept my coffee full. Portions did not seem as big as ones at Bernalillo. Omelete was much smaller than you could get at Denney's or Weck's. Omelet was good and included potatoes, fruit, and toast. Waiter described Chili Relenos as very large, but should have known they would not be very big because they are made with green chilis. With blue corn covering them they were very good. Think twice about going on a Sunday unless you have a lot of time on your hands.

Love this place but the service can be pretty slow sometimes. And today the food was a little off. We ordered an appetizer and it took over 20 min to come out. And then they were burned. Don’t come on the weekend when they don’t have enough staff to handle the larger crowds.

I really like this location. It's more intimate than other ones.there was a busy lunch crowd but we we're seated immediately. I love the Range's green Chile chicken stew. So that's what I ordered. My companion was reducing carbs so got a burger without the bun. No problem said our server. I also got a latte which was really good even though this is not a specialty coffee shop. The service was great. Our server was attentive but not overly so. The Range always has great desserts, even though we didn't partake of one. They ate big enough to share.

Do yourself a favor and go have breakfast here I normally find something I like at a restaurant and that is all I eat there after that. I have tried sooo many different things on their menu and have loved all of them!! I can't even pick a favorite. They really should bring back the range toast though!! Best French toast ever!

Was visiting with family over dinner we hadn't seen in 5 years and although we spent several hours tying up this young man's table, he was extremely accommodating and we never felt neglected! Great wait staff and great food. Came with a large group where everyone ordered something different and everyone left feeling very satisfied. Fun atmosphere and the kids loved the live music at night. Parking was a little tricky to find but in the end it was well worth the drive.

15 minute wait to be seated. Then when entering the dinning room they had plenty of available seats upon sitting down. Food was delicious but took a long time to come out. (On our lunch break) once we finished our meals it took a long time to get the check. We love the Range but this visit was a little frustrating. We will give them another try once the opportunity arises again.

My Mom took my daughter and I to lunch today and unfortunately we were not impressed. My Mom chose a burger plate with coleslaw over the pastrami sandwich because they only offered jalapeno thousand island dressing for the pastrami and mom didn't want jalapenos. She sent the coleslaw back... it was not good. I ordered the Mediterranean salad and it was mediocre. The dressing was a vinegarette with little flavor except that it was sweetened vinegar. The cucumbers we're going bad... mushy and off colored. My daughter ordered the B.L.O.A.T.E.M (Bacon, Lettuce, Onion, Avocado, Tomato on English Muffin). She said she could only taste the avocado. The prices were a bit inflated for the quality of food. Service was decent, and we did inform them of the issues with our meal. No manager came for an apology and no discount... No big deal. Honestly though I cannot see myself going back. If she wants a burger next time, we will go to Five Guys.

The food here is pretty good and Prices are also pretty good. The dessert is kind of bland and kind of expensive. We had the green chili strips for appetizer and they were really good. It came with this delicious jalapeno ranch dressing which was excellent. I had the combination plate which was really good other than it came with a soft taco and I preferred hardshell. My friend had the brisket burrito which was also very good. For dessert I had the chocolate banana cream pie which was okay but there was a something bland about it and my friend had the cream puff and I had a taste of it and it was also kind of bland. Overall very good food and the service was excellent.

We generally have a pretty good experience here. Today was a different story. Undercooked eggs and bacon. They tried twice to cook over medium eggs but to no avail. Runny whites the first time and burnt eggs with runny whites the second time. I gave up and didnt eat any eggs. $30 later... won't be back anytime soon. The Waiter shouldn't be the highlight of your eating experience.

Tried the Range Cafe at Cottonwood tonight for a birthday dinner. Usually go to the one in Bernalillo for brunch or lunch and so there were high expectations. Decor and atmosphere is fun and relaxed. The food selection is good and breakfast is served all day. Serving sizes are generous. A big guy could finish the plate but be ready to take some home. I wasn't as happy with the dinner choices but discovered their chicken bacon pasta which was yummy and the other half will be for lunch tomorrow. My husband surprised me with a chocolate cake to take home. Oh my heavens!!! This cake serves 10-12 and must weigh 10 pounds. I am going into chocolate overload. (jk no such thing!!) Definitely worth going to.

Still the best. I'm not sure why, but the food here is just a tad better than their other locations. Atmosphere is quaint but aging a bit. However many like that ambiance here in NM. They do have live music on weekends. Still very crowded at peak times and waiting is normal here especially on weekends. Fabulous deserts made in house! A real gem for Albuquerque area.

They changed the menu removing my wife and kiddo's breakfast favorites. While I can find something else to eat, they don't like the other dishes. We probably won't go back. It's a shame. We ate weekend breakfasts there all the time. Service was always good. Whoever changed the menu lost regular customers who always tip more than 20%. What a shame. No more waffles and no more pesto. Lame.

The previous menu choices we've made at Range have been delicious! However, last night was disappointing for our family, from the kid's hamburger to the taco salad to the chicken and rice entree. The overall comment was that the meat was dry and flavorless as were some of the sides. The salad needed help with flavor. The rice served with the chicken had no flavor at all. If it hadn't been for the Velveeta-like sauce (I say that because I don't know what it was) that dish would have had nothing savory about it. An off night? I hope so. We like the Range!

Preordered lunches for a club meeting . Waitress met us as we entered the room, took our orders and found us when sat down with the correct drink order. One of the menu items was blue corn enchiladas with chicken. It was served with beans and rice with chopped lettuce over the enchiladas. Of course, this is New Mexico so it comes with red (milder) or green chile sauce which can be ordered on the side. Those who ordered them seemed happy with the meal. I had the grilled cheese sandwich with a bowl of tomato bisque. The sandwich was made with Texas toast, cheese, bacon and a sweet relish. Wonderful!! The soup was quite thick and was ok. This is the original Range cafe and is filled with unusual and eclectic art work. We've enjoyed the food here every time we've come. The attached gift shop is well worth a wander with some wines, cards, sauces and beautiful Navajo ceramics.

The day chef was very good! He/she made the most perfect overeasy eggs. Tho the food was delicious, the service, even when slow way still poor, had to often bother other servers to take care of our needs. Our server was seen rarely, which affected his/her tip.

I feel like The Range is getting complacent. First, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the service was very good. The manager was involved, friendly and she kept the front under control. Unfortunately, the kitchen was a different story. I ordered the eggs Benedict. It came out with very little sauce, didn't even cover the entire egg. One egg was cooked perfectly, but the other was over cooked (ordered them poached soft). And the portions seemed to be smaller. The eggs looked very small, my side was very minimal as well. The fruit had pineapple and it wasn't cut right, had a bunch of the pokey things still on them. Very displeased. My group also mentioned that the food was just ok.

Wow, this place completely caught me by surprise. I’ve been to other Range Cafes, but this is the original. We went on a Thursday and were treated to a live band in the background. The atmosphere is awesome. Lots of signed plates on the wall, beautiful artworks, and even a fire shop. Definitely worth the trip out here.

Good food and good service overshadowed by the fact that I was up all night. I'm allergic to MSG'S and due to how much seasoning was used, I suffered from distressed stomach and elevated heart rate. This was the first time in years and the worst I've felt. I should have made an inquiry before eating and recommend that folks ask before ordering.

My husband loves eating here; and I am good with it as well. However, yesterday we were there and decided to have a cocktail. We ordered a silver coin and a prickly pear margarita. Loved them. So we ordered a 2nd one. When we received our bill, 4 good, but very small drinks totaled $48. We will never ever order a cocktail again. This is ridiculous folks!

We have been to the Range Cafe a few times, the new one here on the westside. Only one time was our waitress slow. Never has our food been wrong or tasted bad. Took my elderly father to the Range a couple of months ago and he raved about it for days after. I eat Keto and there are plenty of choices on the menu to accommodate, like the Kitchen Sink omelette! It's a must try. The huevos are top notch, above and beyond any others that we have tried.

We have eaten here about 3-4 times and we don’t even live in New Mexico!! This place is my favorite place to eat in the ABQ region. Here are some of the things we have had, their elote dip, their range roundup, range toast, and Rey’s nachos, all at different times and a year apart. Consistently delicious food no matter what we tried! Every year we will be attending ABQ Comicon, and we will be stopping here for sure

We went here for a family brunch. The majority of the family got huevos rancheros, which was enjoyed by all who ordered it. My stomach is sensitive to spice, so I got the Deluxe Biscuits and Gravy, which was perfectly savory and creamy. The prickly pear lemonade is a real treat! The portion sizes are large; you won't leave hungry. The atmosphere is cute and quirky and the service was very good.

If we could rate this zero stars we would! The first time we came here we were seated right away but then it took forever for someone to get our drink order and even longer for our food to come out once the food was brought out there was a very noticeable piece of plastic in one of the plates of food. The food was taken back and a rushed mess was brought out in its place. Being that everyone deserves a second chance we decided to come here again for pancakes because they are supposed to be some of the best and big mistake! The service was terrible the waitress didn’t even refill our waters she wouldn’t look our way and after 40 minutes and still no pancakes we left never again!

I also recommend the Eggs Benedict and the Hot Turkey Plate. My children love all of the art work and are also finding some new and fun on the walls. You can come in and order desserts to go from the dessert counter at the main entrance of the restaurant. The Key Lime Pie is wonderful.

The Range Cafe offers home-style cuisine... with a New Mexico flare. This location is easy to get to... just by the Cottonwood Mall. Try the turkey sandwich (complete with stuffing and gravy) or... breakfast foods served all day. Service is fast and friendly... and various local artists often have pieces on display and for sale. If I could give zero stars I would! Arrived at 11:50 this morning and left at 12:30 with no food at all. We were a party of two and sat by the bar in the quick seating. Took over 5 minuets for anyone to get us drinks. Had to finally call our waiter over to refill my coffee. He was more interested in serving the patrons at the bar then us. Two parties of two and one party of three had already had their food by the time we left. Told the girl in front how unhappy we were and she didn’t even attempt to have a manager called over to rectify the situation. Came to Texas Roadhouse just around the corner and within ten minuets of being here we’ve already received our drinks, fresh bread, salads, and our order taken. Way to go Texas Roadhouse we knew coming here we would get the outstanding service we deserved! Never going to the Range cafe at cottonwood!!

I feel like The Range is getting complacent. First, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the service was very good. The manager was involved, friendly and she kept the front under control. Unfortunately, the kitchen was a different story. I ordered the eggs Benedict. It came out with very little sauce, didn't even cover the entire egg. One egg was cooked perfectly, but the other was over cooked (ordered them poached soft). And the portions seemed to be smaller. The eggs looked very small, my side was very minimal as well. The fruit had pineapple and it wasn't cut right, had a bunch of the pokey things still on them. Very displeased. My group also mentioned that the food was just ok.

Food is great, service could use some help. We were sitting there waiting to order for a LONG time. Maybe 15 solid minutes of no one checking on us, taking food/drink orders etc. People that were seated after us were getting all kinds of attention, it was bizarre...almost like being invisible. My wife and myself stopped here at the Range for dinner last Friday evening. We were both pretty hungry after a busy day. I wanted something substantial for dinner. So I ordered something that I have ordered before. I ordered the Chicken Bacon Pasta dish. I thought it would be a good choice sense I was very hungry. It says right on the menu that it is made with Linguine. I was very disappointed in what served. What I got was a very small portion of spaghetti, with the Chicken Bacon sauce on top. I was so disappointed in what was served. It not so much what was served. I can understand that that they may have ran out of Linguine. But no one even came by to explain that they ran out. Instead when the server came by and asked was everything ok. I told her that I was very disappointed with what I got and a very small portion of pasta. She went to the manager and explained to her my disappointment. The server came back and said her manager had discounted my dish $2.00. I was flabbergasted. I had gotten served a portion big enough fo for a 9yr old boy. And I got $2.00 taken off my dinner. That tells me one thing. This place is not intrested in pleasing the customer. Only in the bottom line. I courage customers to seek other restaurants to spend their money at. Instead of eating here. Management could care less whether you as a customer are satisfied with your meal or not. Happy Dining elsewhere GF1.

What a cool place. Very down home feel with kitchy decorations that only enhance the already warm environment. The servers are friendly and attentive. The menu is extensive, offering so etching for every taste or palate. I chose the meatloaf. A more than generous slice of loaf was served, smothered in a mild gravy along with mashed potatoes. I cleaned my plate! I will definitely be dining at the Range again. If not this location then one of their others around town.

Stopped by the original "Range Cafe" up in Bernalillo last Tuesday to satisfy a late afternoon hunger spell. This was a good place to it too, as everything here is local and deliciously made. After being seated in the main dining room and handed my menu; I couldn't help but notice that this location doesn’t partake in the all-day breakfast craze like its Albuquerque counterparts do. This I found a shame as many of the Range's best offering can be found in the breakfast section. Nonetheless, the menu still features a number of great items. I ultimately decided to go with the Huevos Rancheros on a blue corn tortilla with the eggs cooked over-easy and a side of red chili. The wait wasn't terribly long and my server was more than helpful as she consistently checked in on me. When my food arrived, I dug in and enjoyed every bite. The eggs were cooked perfectly, beans seasoned just right, and side of potatoes made the overall meal more than filling. Desert was also tempting as the display case featured an array of mouth-watering sweets and pastries. Some of which included: carrot cake, key lime pie, and a rich multilayered chocolate cake (to name a few). The "Range Cafe" has several locations scattered throughout the Albuquerque metro. However, it's often the case that nothing ever truly beats the original, and despite not offering all-day breakfast, this still definitely holds true for this particular restaurant chain.

This is a great place! It's stated that this is Mexican, but I find that they have a Mexican, Country, Southern mixed affair! The food is absolutely delicious and comes out in huge portions! They have humongous desserts and and baked goods! Food is served in a timely manner and the drinks rarely go empty before being replenished. All this and the prices are great too! They also have a few gift shops attached that are open to walk through without having to go outside! There is a jewelry store and souvenirs shops that have unique stuff! Just a great place to go to!

If you're ever in Albuquerque this is a must this was the most amazing food ever and they have a bakery in their plus they have a little shop for souvenirs and t-shirts and the food was incredible I've eaten there a couple of times now and I've never been disappointed try and find this place be worth your while

Aside the bernalillo Range location the drop-off is steep. The service and food quality plummet. The turkey sausage is dry and, tough and tasteless.The Freight house is also a disaster. My last 4 trips to Range-related businesses have been a costly expen$ive disappointment even on holidays when their "A" game should be evident

I love The Range. Great food, great service. Just mentioned to hubby during this last meal that we've been going here for 20+ years and have never had a bad meal at any location...my fave is still Bernalillo. I always liked taking friends and out-of-staters there for consistently good NM food.

Went for restaurant week, ordered the Frito pie. VERY small portion for $15.00. No meat, very little beans and cheese, but lots of thin tortilla strips. They should be embarrassed. It was pretty bad. Beet salad was good though. Tyler did a great job. Probably won't be back.

This location at Cottonwood needs to improve. Slow service, stale food, underrated experience. I love all the other locations but staff here needs to be more prompt and attentive, cooking chef's work need to improve. Great recipes are only as good as the people who make and serves it. Good work and care of the staff make a good experience. The original location in Bernalliio is the best, Menual second Rio Grande fair, Cottonwood not so great.

My favorite restaurant As a native New Mexican that is saying a lot given all the great places to eat in Santa Fe and Abq. The Red Chile is delicious, there is roasted chicken in the enchiladas and the desserts are out of this world especially the death by lemon. The atmosphere is casual and the art and celebrity autographs are fun to look at. Also 2 great gift shops!!

Excellent food from a plentiful menu at reasonable prices with wonderful service. Great pastries. Plenty of room (multiple rooms) with good spacing between tables and a few booths. Very accommodating, including for groups without causing disturbance for other customers. Colorful old mixed use neighborhood, but big dedicated parking lot with special street crossing. Pleasant relaxed feel. A nice mix of repeat local folk with visitors and tourists. If we lived closer (200+ mi now) we would definitely eat here often.

There are many better places to go that you get bigger portions, better food, better service. The food was good, just not worth the price. Our service was slow, and when we did ask for something we either didn't get it or had to wait a long time to get it. We did not have to wait to be seated, but everything from then on service-wise was quite slow. If you're set on going here, go ahead, but I would recommend finding somewhere else, as Albuquerque has a lot of brunch places like these, that are a lot better.
