Absolutely love the range Cafe. My husband and I sit at the bar across from the kitchen and get great service every time. Food is always consistent, hot and delicious. Wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent selection of local flavor. A great place to visit anytime you're near.

My wife and I went here for breakfast. My wife had a huge omelette with artichokes, fresh fruit and a apricot muffin. I had a huge biscuit with green chili gravy. Both dishes were really good and we didn't need to eat the rest of the day.

I have eaten there twice and while the ambiance is nice the food is bland and the portion sizes are small. This place is more of a Colorado type of restaurant than a New Mexican and the lack of flavors and spices are reflected by this difference.

Our visit to the Range Cafe was perfect. My wife and I are doing Weight Wachers, so we split a breakfast. It was done just right and the portion was large enough that we were both full and didn't have to carry a doggie bag home. We highly recommend it. Enjoy!

I was shocked at how empty it was on a Friday evening at 7pm. Is that a sign of something, or just an ABQ thing? The meals were good, but I wouldn't say it was far and above other restaurant choices. It just didn't feel vibrant or have any unique qualities that would cause me to add it to my go-to list.

I had the blue corn enchiladas with carne adovada. They came with "aroz verde". The rice was the only thing on the plate with any flavor. The carne adovada was plain pork and the tortillas were a little tough and tasteless. This plate and a soda cost me almost $18. There are DOZENS of places in Albuquerque for good New Mexican food. Range isn't one of them.

You can't go wrong with any of the Range Cafes! This one happens to be in a part of town where I like to hang out so I eat there more often than the other locations. Plenty of free parking, too!

Not good! I'm a native and I've been there many times with much better results. I had the Mediterranean salad with chicken. The chicken was dry and it was not prepared the way I asked, dressing on the side. Too bad!☹

First time here after seeing good reviews. Service was friendly but the entire experience was rushed. They ran out of several items on the menu we asked for but didn't say so until we tried to order which wasted a lot of time for a very hungry group. Seemed half the restaurant was empty but not enough wait staff on duty. All of the "mild" food was way too hot for any of our party to eat. A bit overpriced for what you can get elsewhere. Probably will not be back.

FRONT OF HOUSE: Love Dorothy, the hostess, because she was personable and funny. Servers were also attentive. Was a bit of a wait as this place is a neighborhood gem. Food was good, just be ready for a breakfast wait. Worth it when I have been there.

Tried to eat here Monday, they were not very busy. We were seated in a booth by the front. About 15 minutes passed, no service. I told the manager, he snapped at me. We immediately left. Piss poor service. Will not be coming back to this location at least.

it's the Range. They're delicious and give you a lot of food. The only downside is the parking lot's not easy to get into if you're not on that side of the street. But my god, they do bacon perfectly.

Not impressed. Service was meh. I saw at least two parties that came in after us get served before us. The server splashed my mom with coffee all over her sweater and didn't even know it. Never refilled our drinks aside from the splash of coffee. She didn't even know we had drinks when she went to take our order. The manager guy had to get them. I thought everything was forgiven when the food came because it tasted good. And then I found egg shells in my food. I will not go back. I'm surprised it's so popular. Priced too high anyway. Go to Wecks or even Village Inn if you want good service and food.

I had heard some good things about The Range Cafe. They were completely wrong. It is obviously trying to grow too fast too quickly while taking many shortcuts. I ordered the chicken fried steak which was no doubt Frozen prior to being served to me. Instead of being crispy and tasty it was tasteless. The only thing that gave it any type of flavor was the green chili gravy on top. If you're not going to produce fresh tasty dishes I think you need to stop serving it.

Local chain diner specializing in upscale versions of New Mexican favorites. Some well executed classics and some fancy versions of New Mexican standards like blue corn huevos rancheros. The recipes are generally well developed, but they have expanded in recent years and their execution is frequently off. Under or unseasoned sides are frequent, but the wait times are much more reasonable. Papas con carne is a great for those who are hungry and the Southwest eggs Benedict is always a treat.

Had an amazing new Mexican style breakfast with home made mocha late. They had so many more options all looking delicious. There homemade pastries and pies were so tempting. My brother was given the wrong item but not even a moment after giving it to them they relieved to. Asking if it was okay or if he wanted something else. No wonder it’s busy it is a great place with plenty of bar space. My brother who is a local said sometimes there a long wait but it’s always worth it.

What a fun place to eat and drink. We had breakfast there which was your basic meal but I'm hoping we go there again for dinner too. The atmosphere and customer service was outstanding. Nice easy coffee selection and good tea but the paper straws were a little bit weird and difficult to use when they get soggy. I would recommend they come up with a better straw or go back to a regular straw. Good thing beers can be served in a bottle.

Such a fun experience. Relaxed atmosphere and the most fun ceiling I've ever seen. Loved the patty melt. It was literally mouth watering. With a simple menu, scrumptious sweets and dessert selection, you're bound to leave completely satisfied.

I've been to the Range Cafe on Wyoming a number of times and find the quality of the food consistently good. Today, I had the chile relleno plate. It was so yummy. I don't know how they cook the pinto beans, but they are so tasty. I often skip the beans and rice with Mexican dishes, but not at the Range. I also like the their breakfast tacos. Be prepared to share with a friend. They're huge and incredibly good. I would've given the Range 5 stars, but the server seemed to have been in lala land. It was a slow time at the cafe, and it took her 10 minutes to come by to take our order, including water.

The omelets are amazing. The Tuscan is my fav. Today, Sunday (always a busy day) we had a group of 8 for breakfast. We made reservations, were thanked for doing so too. Our server Zack was very friendly and did a great job. We know larger groups can be difficult. Everyone loved their food.

Great people and service. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich on a home made biscuit. I opted for the green chili with chorizo sauce on the side and man was I glad I did. The sauce had a nice bite but it was really heavy and I personally think it would have taken away from the nicely fried, still moist, chicken on the kind of dense, but buttery tasting, biscuit. I added nothing to my sandwich and still really liked it. The onion rings were a tad greasy and the coating fell off which made it difficult to eat.

We eat at the Range at least once a week and have been since the day they opened. It is our go to place if we want to have a place to eat and have a place to have a relaxed meeting, like we did this afternoon. The soups and desserts are great!

Food is always good here but had some problems with service the last time through. Waitress forgot one of the drinks in it party and then wanted around topping off coffees before taking our order. It was about 15 minutes from sitting down until our order was in.

Yummy BIG plates are shareable. Every bite was better than the next! Take some home so you'll have room for dessert! Delicious! A slice of pie costs more, but all real ingredients and bigger and better than those other places!

As a local who favors The Range, I never thought I’d be giving it such a low rating. I’m not really sure what happened, the food is always so good, but today it was less than mediocre. I found it difficult to finish my meal. The egg salad sandwich tasted only of cream cheese, the fries were undercooked, and there was wax paper in my bacon. Which my server handled so well. Honestly, the service was perfect. I love this place and I know it’s better than that. Maybe with a menu change comes a lack of heart and consideration with how food is made? But, I hope that’s not the case.

Stopped by the Range Cafe on Montgomery and Wyoming late this afternoon before venturing off to run some errands. Albuquerque possesses a number of locally owned restaurant chains throughout the city and the Rage is certainly one of them. Today, when I stopped by for lunch, I was pleased to find that the restaurant wasn't terribly busy. I was then quickly greeted by the hostess and sat at the sports bar. Upon opening my menu I glanced over at the breakfast section out of curiosity. The Range has always stopped serving breakfast at 3pm so I wasn't looking to set my sights on anything. But behold, plastered at the top of the menu read "Breakfast now served all day". At that moment my day had just gotten a little bit better. I asked my server how long this had been going on and he replied that the change was only a few weeks old. Taking full advantage, I chose the biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon and topped with scrambled eggs. The wait wasn't terribly long. When it arrived I was pleased by both the portion size and presentation. The eggs were perfectly cooked and didn't have that rubbery texture you typically find in a lot of restaurants. The side of bacon was greasy and delicious. In addition, the home fires were ideally seasoned and the gravy was mouthwateringly fantastic. The service was also superb. My server answered all my questions and routinely checked in on me. It's sometimes the case that when I dine alone the wait staff will forget about me and I then have to seek them out. I was pleased that wasn't the case today. When it comes to local chains, the management and operation of the restaurant will ultimately decide how good it is. As a result, some locations end up being better than others. The Range Cafe on Wyoming is not only a good spot for any meal but is one of the finer locations I've been to.

Nachos appetizer: half the chips were almost chewy, going stale, but they give a good assortment of blue & corn tortilla chips. Beans came looking all dry. I ordered the tacos: cabbage was discolored (oxidizing) and drenched in sauce, I scraped all that off and the shrimp & fish portions were good! They didn't scimp on that! Which is why I gave them 4, not 3.

This place has the BEST blue corn blueberry walnut pancakes I have EVER tasted. They were fluffy and very flavorful with a sweet buttery taste and blueberries that burst in your mouth with each bite. The oatmeal was heaven with the cinnamon icecream on top of walnuts brown sugar and fresh strawberries. Must try both. Enough to share both for 2 people.

We tried The Range because they have a wider range of menu items than a straight up Mexican restaurant. Wanting something healthier, I had the trout. It was dry and fishy tasting. It was garnished with very chewy sun-dried tomatoes. The polenta was bland. The zucchini was good, but there was only one thin strip. My daughter liked her burger, and it came with a generous quantity of onion rings. Not the best onion rings I've ever had. Tasted like the oil was a little stale. My husband's huevos rancheros looked ok, but nothing special. I will not return. There are too many better places.
