Good food and good prices
Great food choices, cold beer, good music. This is a great place to visit. (Film peeps - 5ton friendly)
Great atmosphere, rock & roll music from the 50s and 60s, and kitschy decor! Pair that with good food, good service, and good price...a 'must-return' destination in Albuquerque!
I had dinner there and had the Southwest "Windy" Burger. I guess it was windy because of the chili :-) The food was great, the wait staff was great and it was a neat place. Highly recommended.
By far the blandest food ive ever had. Doesnt matter how much salt u try. Also, the corn beef hash was 60% green chile, 30% potato, and 10% corned beef, so that was disappointing. Definitely not a good price fo what they servin. The service was good though, but that doesnt satisfy like a good meal...
The.food here was pretty bad. Not much flavor at all. One thing that really stood out was the awesome service. Everyone was super friendly
Best breakfast in abq! Love the green chile! And the green chile cheeseburgers! OMG!!!
Great food and great service. I recommend all my friends to stop and have a bit. The people are great
We have always had a really great experiences here. However the last time we came to eat the order was wrong and the server was more concerned about how many tables they were getting instead of getting the ones he had correct. We even let a manager know that there was issues and they didn't seem to care. hopefully next time we go in there we will get a little bit more attentive of a server or perhaps that server has learned from their mistakes and has improved his serving game. Whenever we are on that side of town I love eating there because the food is really delicious and pretty well priced for their portions.
A lot of amazing food on the menu! The workers there are super nice!!
Old school diner feel with good food and friendly service! The exterior architecture is worth noticing. Overall, a good place to try!
Good food and plenty of ot
Service was good. Food was made very lazy. Added garnish that was not on the menu. Also they dont know how to scramble eggs. Turned out to be a wast of money.
I always love stopping in for a California Burger with green Chile and an O-loaf! Best place to be in Alb!
Good service good food, a bit dingy.
Food and service were great with the exception of the waitress accidentally dumping hot fluid on my honey and if you are not overly skinny do NOT sit in booths. There shakes are to die for as well
Omg green chiles! The green chili burger is amazing so were the sweet potato fries.
Ordered from here from postmates and all the food is terrible, oversalted and the order is wrong. all around bad experience. I ordered 2 orders of zucchinis NO mushrooms and got one order of both. Asked for extra ranch and only got one thing of ranch. Supposed to have creamy gravy which is not supposed to be brown and the chicken strips and burger are overcooked and burnt and disgusting. It's really unfortunate because the last time we ordered from here it was perfect. The only thing that is good are the fries.
Great place to eat. Staff is awesome. Music is a throwback which is relaxing. And when they have the mini car show, it is amazing.
Always a pleasant experience. Great staff here and we are always greeted like family. They have a yummy veg burger too!
I'm sorely disappointed! It's NOT like what the Owl Cafe used to be known for! My oh my, by far it was over-priced for the run-down, poor quality of food and service and top it off, almost my entire order was WRONG! I ordered a B.L.A.T. comes standard with corn tortilla chips and salsa, chocolate malt extra malt, and a lemon square. I don't know about the lemon square, I bought that for my grandfather. The chocolate malt extra malt was for my grandmother! The sandwich was mine. First,I took the malt and lemon square in to the g' rents. (My grandmother and I had quite the experience at the Owl Cafe years ago. Coincidental?!) We split the 'malt,' bagged the lemon square for another day. As we both took a taste, discovered it was not a malt!!!! Strike one. I then tried one of the chips in with my sandwich! Really?! Seriously, it was old, stale and gross.! Strike two!!! At this point, I'm leery and skeptical.... Proceed to check the sandwich... Low and be hold, its incorrect as well! It's missing the A- avocado ! The bacon looked like it was left over from yesterday! Totaly no avocado none! I've got a tendency to check my orders(ESPECIALLY when carrying out it or getting to go. (I knew better and still I didn't do better!
The food was great and they give you alot.
Found this place online with Google recommendation. Really fun place that I was told was on an episode of "Better Call Saul". Food was good and the wait staff was friendly. Left full and bought one of their shirts. Recommended.
Excellent prices, food and service. One of the best burgers i have ever had
Very nice wait staff. Great sweet potato fries!
Very friendly wait staff! The food is good, the shakes are great! Always a fun place to go.
Cool atmosphere. Good Turkey Dinner. Reasonable prices. Owl be back.
The staff there is so friendly, and not in a corporate policy made-up kind of way, but in a "We're having a good time here and we hope you do too" kind of way. The burgers are great and the shakes have to be eaten with a spoon.
Love the place. Always great food and great service. Cindy Lou (I think that was her) went out of her way to help answer questions and just very cheerful. Will keep going back.
Good diner with good food at great prices!
It was a neat place, but service was slow for not being busy. My dish was a bit cold, but tasted alright. I'm sure if it was at proper temp. it would have been spot on.
Inmates eat better food than this, just another grease pit.
Always have good food, fun atmosphere, potatoes are great, burgers good. Thursday casserole is the best with green chili.
Great food and service. Dog friendly closed patio area
Great food great service and my granddaughter Liliana loves this place. She is lucky to live in Albuquerque
We went out to this wonderful cafe tonight. We loved the environment and our server Bj was the greatest! We will definitely be going back!
Fun throwback style diner. Traditional comfort food, milkshakes and desserts.
This is a long time establishment here in Albuquerque. Many locals eat here regularly. Ours Basically a diner type atmosphere with many delicious choices on the menu!
Green chile cheese burger was good. Hot roast beef sandwich too
This is a great, classic style diner. The food is cheap and you get large portions. It’s a variety of old style, like biscuits and gravy, and New Mexican twist like huevos rancheros and green chile burritos. This is definitely a place to take the parents when visiting.
It wasnt the best place i had but it was alright. I liked the ability to select music at the table and i liked the deep fried pickles. The burger just left something to desire. A bit more flavor would be nice.
Went today to Owl for Wednesday special...Burger Day for $5.29. Got a world-famous green chile cheeseburger with homemade chips and complimentary side of pintos and green chile. I made sure to come here not too hungry, as I know the service can be very slow at times, so I came just kinda hungry, figuring that when my meal finally did arrive I would be hungry enough to finally eat it. It actually did take about 20 or so minutes for my meal to come out and the staff was very apologetic. I ate about half and was full. I asked for a box and my check and the dear waitress was kind enough to give me extra beans and chile to go at no charge, plus a 20 percent discount for the wait. $4.63 for all that food! I am so grateful.
This place is one of the most iconic restaurants in Albuquerque. Its food is delicious. Its service is great and it's atmosphere is unique.
Very yummy, and keto friendly. Hubby loves it.
Always a pleasure. A classic Route 66 diner. Everything is good. Save room for a milkshake but... Good luck with that.
On Wednesday nights they have the most excellent $5.46 hamburgers with the Best HOMEMAde potato chips ever! I live close and I go there every Wednesday
Was looking for a dog friendly sanwhich place and this hot the spot. Shaped like and owl with a 50’s diner theme. Food was tasty. Recommend the Ruben and save room for the apple pie!
Great food and great milkshakes! Can't beat the old timey atmosphere also!
Amazing food with an amazing staff. Went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure my experience was awesome.
First & last time here. Food quality was poor in taste & our server didn't quite attend to my family & I
The food is usually pretty good but it seems the quality has gone downhill a little lately.
Good food, slow service.
The service was a bit slow but the food came out fast. Chill environment with good food. Our dog was able to come and sit with us on the patio. They gave her a bawl of water and a dog treat.
Being a long time resident of NM (over 30 yrs) this was my first ever visit. Look and feel of the diner is classic old school. Service was okay, never got a drink refill (not even for our water). Server was genuinely nice though. The highlight of the food was a green Chile cheeseburger cooked well and juicy. Nacho fries were good too. Windy City burger was quite a larger plate okay in flavor. Taco plate was pretty haphazardly made; a huge mess of burnt refried beans and very greasy ground beef taco meat and chewy taco shells. Last item we ordered was some sort of tortilla burger with bacon, red cabbage and tomato with a garlic type sauce in a green Chile tortilla. Seriously pretty terrible. I don't think that it wouldn't have been so bad if what was served actually resembled the picture on the menu or tasted as the description mentioned. What was served was a seriously over cooked patty with a couple of bacon strips a small mound of mayonnaise red cabbage stuff with tomato "ends" slices and no green Chile tortilla. The fries on this plate were seriously soggy and tepid. Sorry to say my first experience at the Owl Cafe was definitely sub par. Two stars.
Good food, love the strawberrie milkshake, was the best of the menu, the cost i think it was a little too expensive!
Food was decent prices were great
This place was a complete surprise for me. I had some time to kill while getting some work done on my car. I'd never driven by or seen it before. Breakfast was one egg over medium, crisp bacon, home fries, and toast. Egg was a shade under cooked, but still met the definition. Bacon was A+++ (crisp but not dry and thick cut). The home fries were really tasty with chunks of red potatoes and mild peppers and onions. And the decor... Very retro with lots of chrome and counter space. Very 50's Service was excellent even though the place was hopping. There are several motels in the same lot and I expect they drive a lot of the morning business by themselves. Looking forward to lunch!
The old vibe is awesome. I love the food and the prices were very fair!
Workers were super nice. Enviornment was cool. Food was just ok.
This is one of our top three favorite Restraunts when visiting Albuquerque. The food is great and wait staff attentive and delightful.
A neat restaurant with good burgers that aren't $15 bucks and amazing shakes with that old school feel. My waitress and the entire staff was great.
OMG . This place is the BEST EVER. Excellent food and service. Priced right. Great menu. Definitely going back
Great service. Just wish the food was better. Used to love the owl cafe. Now it's hit or miss on food quality.. especially with how expensive it is
The service was fast and friendly. I had the Taos turkey and it was nice take on quesadillas. The green chile and avocado was a very nice touch.
This is an iconic building in Albuquerque. The interior is just as cool. The servers are friendly and you feel welcomed. Then you get the menu... They have a good selection of American and New Mexican foods but it's expensive for what you get get. A Carne Adovada platter was $15.00! I'm not saying it wasn't good but with so many restaurants with similar options, I wouldn't go back at those prices.
I love the fried mushrooms here. They are big, fat, and delicious. Good portion amount too.
With a dog friendly patio and it being a nice day I decided to try this place out. The building shaped like an owl I was interested to see it up close. Even though I was only one in the patio the waitress didn’t forget about me and kept coming out to check. The food was amazing with homemade tortilla to go with it. I got a $4 wine margarita not with high expectations but if you brushed the salt of the rim it actually was okay for the price. Defiantly would go there sometime again when I come back into town.
Ha ds down. I love this place. Breakfast is amazing. Cinnamon rolls.....OMGoodness.....you have to try one of these decadent Cinnamon Rolls.
Been once before...couldn't wait to go back. Excellent service, excellent food clean facility.
Excellent I will be back for an Owl buger!
It's the owl, get a green chili burger but make sure they add cheese. An Albuquerque institution for a reason. Also delicious shakes and great wait staff.
A great place! Excellent service, even with our crew of 9 people. The food was great too and fairly priced. We had enough food that we took half of it home with us. Loved looking at all the owls
Great place! Service is fantastic! Ask for Kris if you need your day brightened. The ice cream shakes are so good, highly recommend! The hatch chili’s are so yummy, although we got a spicy batch! Order them on the Albuquerque Patty melt- It’s a risk worth taking (on the spiciness).
My sister n her husband took us for hamburgers, I tried the taco plate. My tacos we're ok, the beans n rice typical. The restaurant was styled like a diner, but could do with some up dating. The wait staff we're very accommodating and friendly.
Although the food was okay (not very hot and overpriced) it could have been cleaner and the staff a little more attentive.
It was delicious and delightful atmosphere. Nice decorations with all those owls (haha). The staff was nice. My food was delicious. Plan on going back soon. :)
Cheap quick food. Quality reflected in the price. If you're looking for something fast that is one step above fast food, then this is for you. Service however was five stars, everyone working there was amazing.
It's always great, had supper on this occasion. Wait staff always very nice, attentive
Great service most food good worst meat loaf ever
Very impressed by this unique diner! (Just like 90210 Peach Pit). Burgers, sweet potato fries, milkshakes, pies - homemade. Really nice service and waitstaff... Strong recommend!!
Great service. Great food
Love the old school diner setting and their milkshakes definitely brought this boy to their yard
What a true gem of a restaurant in the 1950s Route 66 style. The menu provides a wide variety of burger and sandwich options along with numerous New Mexican dishes featuring our delightful chiles as well a blue plate and nightly specials. They also have an extensive menu for milkshakes and a case full of desserts such as cakes and pies. You do not want to miss this gem!!
Always good food and service!
I grew up here in Albuquerque. I have to say that having breakfast at the Owl Cafe brought back many great memories for the 80's. I now live in Twin falls Idaho. I wish we had a Owl Cafe there. Thank you for the great service and incredible food.
The atmosphere and the music we're both good here, but our waitress couldn't remember our order and forgot we were there most of the time. They only had one basic level of heat for their green and red chilli; very hot, which is vendicative of New Mexico. The owner was insulted when my wife told him the red sauce was bitter. "How about adding some sugar boss man". I really wouldn't waste my time going here unless you really don't want to taste your food.
Great to see a senior breakfast menu. Loved the meal and the coffee. Service was very good, done professionally and very appreciated.
Great burger with green chillies. We love this place.
Still prefer the atmosphere better at the bar, and our food was not particularly hot, but it is a good green chili cheesburger fix when in town
Horrible smoothie with no milk, came out of a packet. Dirty floor, sarcastic waitress on checkout. Give this place a miss.
Everything is good there you can't go wrong with whatever you order. The waitresses and waiters are very nice people.
Stopped here for breakfast, and it was pretty good. Had the breakfast burrito, with home style fries. The service was excellent, and the food was pretty good. The location was very nice, with lots of original decor. I would definitely eat here again.
It's a fun place. I was disappointed with my meal of red chile combo plate. Deep fried bacon and taco were very greasy. The vanilla Coke was super!
Cute place on the way through town. Good burgers and dog friendly
Good food, but crowded this morning!
One of the best green chili cheese burger I ever ate. Service above and beyond. A place you must try.
First and last time there. Burger was ok, at best. Meatloaf was old loaf. Vegies were soggy, watery and tasted like an old freezer. Pies sitting around on various counters, uncovered. Pricey.
Kind of a fun place with good dinner food. The wait staff was attentive and it's conveniently close to the freeway.
Love the retro theme. The food is really good n homey. The shakes are to die for & they're big! Always great service too.
Good food in an interesting building! Instead of chips, they serve chili beans and crackers while you order. Lots of variety on the menu—burgers, Mexican food, sandwiches and salads.
Great food, great service
We love the nachos here. Old fashioned goodness.
Good food, good service
Good food with very nice service. Not overly busy. There is a section of the retaurant that you can eat with your furry babbies to! Very please over all, and will be back definitely.
Great restaurant! Good variety!
First time I've tried the daily special. It was supposed to be re-constructed chicken enchiladas. Reminded me more like chicken pot pie plopped on top of an uncooked corn tortilla with a large amount of melted cheese. And plopped in the middle of that a hand full of lettuce and cut up tomato. I'm not fond of salad on top of any kind of Mexican food. The best part of the meal is the little bowl of really good pinto beans that comes before the meal. We go to The Owl a lot and have never had a bad meal
I was telling Mark "man New Mexico always had good green chili cheeseburgers". So on a road trip back I decided to get one at this restaurant. All though there were no live owls in the establishment, I at least enjoyed my meal.
This place was amazing. In an easily accessible location, great service and food. The green Chile cheeseburger was delicious. I look forward to coming back and eating here again.
Great old style diner. Loved the chicken fried steak plate.
Food is very good. The ranch dressing with the fried pickles is a bit runny. Smoke serving of pickles but no small plates to divvy up. It is a bit pricey, but you do get what you pay for. Large drink cups are always appreciated. Will definitely be going back.
Excellent food! Friendly service! Haven't tried the beverages... we'll be back!!
Very fun atmosphere. Polite and attentive staff. Cheap burger, but also... Underwhelming. Their gourmet burgers look pretty impressive, but my Green Chile cheeseburger came out after the two guys sitting next to me got theirs and mine looked pretty sad next to what they ordered. For the extra couple bucks I'd recommend ordering the California. I'd like to try the Baja burger next time, it looks intriguing.
I have missed New Mexico. Great meal to start my visit.
GREAT food...wonderful waitresses and old time music!
The food was okay, but I don't know if I will dine in again. The stuff was okay but the waitress was a bit intrusive. Trying to have a nice meal and conversating with the person I was with. We constantly were getting interrupted by the waitress, the waitress would talk over us I found that to be extremely rude. She constantly would go over and ask us how was the food, which I didn't think it was necessary after asking more then once. I personally probably won't be eating here again.
Great food. Terrific customer service. Not many restaurants left to get that nostalgic feeling anymore. Will definitely be going back.
Absolutely loved the old school cafe, the staff and owner Rock n Roll Albuquerque. Very happy with the service and food.
Great food 6the service was wonderful.
I liked this place. The food was pretty good and the coffee was alright. I recommend this place if you like old fashioned diners.
First time trying the owl cafe. Service was great and the food was delicious. Big portions as well
Good food and decent service. However I didn't care for the fact that when I ordered a breakfast meal that comes with toast or bread (an extra 50 cents for a muffin), and I asked for a single pancake instead, I got charged an extra $4 for that pancake! Yes, the pancake was good but $4 for a single pancake??!! Really?!
Really good food! The quality and taste of everything was great. We went in a large group which may have been difficult for them to accommodate because it took a long time to get our food, but it's a cafe not a big restaurant so that was understandable really. The service was good and everything tasted delicious and fresh.
This is my favorite restaurant they have great milkshakes and great food and you get crackers and beans before you get your food
Very fast service. Good food.
Good NM food and a really good classical style diner feel. Love the atmosphere had an awesome server and again great food and specials.
I love their spaghetti. And I also love their butterscotch shake. And the customer service is great. Are waitress asked the other employees to check on us as well.
From the always-smiling, pleasant staff to the wonderful food (and oh, those milkshakes!) this place is a special favorite. I never fail to bring out of town guests here!
Every time I come here, the food is poor. I ordered a soup that was so salty I had to send it back and a grilled cheese that wasn't even melted. I got a refund for both. Also, the prices listed online for their shakes are cheaper than the actual store. We keep trying to like this place but the food is overpriced and just not that good! Route 66 Dinner is much better.
Food is good but dont sit on the patio at lunch time if you want any service.
We all know the green chili burgers here are the outstanding ones of all of New Mexico
Seriously one of my fave places to dine. DJ is the best and am always touched that she remembers me and my husband. Best shakes and chicken fried steak. Come for the food but leave with an owl (jk jk).
I love their green chili and pinto beans. Always take a bowl home too... Service is quick and freindly!!
This has been one of my favorite restaurants since o was a child! I love the food! And you get your money's worth!
Good food on the spicy side. It's like stepping back to the 60s on Route 66.
Been going there 20 years now. Always great fresh food!
Great food and service. Nice place to stop for tourists.
Food was good, but prices seem to have nearly doubled and service was slow.
Great service, very good food. Hot red & green chilies. Great family place.
The food was good but the wait was a little long that it made me afraid of getting an extra order (to go) right after I got my order. The shakes and chili cheese burger was delicious plus the atmosphere was comfy.
Friendly staff and the food is always very good. Great atmosphere.
My daughter took me to lunch at the owl Cafe the food was very good but the service on my side of the restaurant was pretty slow. My daughter seems to be well-known there and if we had sat on the other side of the restaurant we probably would have had excellent service
This was the worst food I have had since I have been in ABQ. Just loads of salt on everything. Maybe the chef is a smoker. Not sure about the 4.3 avg at the moment. They did discount our meal though.
I used to come here with my parents as a kid. They still have wonderful malts!
I was disappointed in the quality and taste of the food
Great food ! . . You HAVE to have the deep fried bacon strips!!!!
Always good food been going for many decaded
Everyone needs to try the milkshakes ♡ any flavor
Green Chile cheeseburger from the Owl Cafe is always on the short list of must haves when I'm in the Borque! Never disappoints...wash it down with a beer or a handspun milkshake and culinary bliss is achieved!
Cozy place to grab a bite of consistently good food, mixed with really nice and friendly crew makes for 5 stars for me. Prices are very reasonable too.
The crispy jalapeno sandwich was so yummy!! Very nice staff! Lots of items to choose from on the menu! Will definitely go back!
Really like going to owl, especially for breakfast and Chicken fried steak. Simple, plentiful, good, diner food served by friendly staff. Comes out quick and steaming hot. Their very reasonable senior specials are almost too big for senior appetite! Their senior veggie omelet plate is big enough for two to share. If you are looking for fancy, gourmet this is not it, but if you want traditional, home cooked you'll enjoy it.
Iconic Green Chile Cheeseburgers. Have daily specials. cool building, classic diner interior, and good staff. Have eaten here over 50 times.
The milkshakes are killer here, as well as the bacon cheese fries. Also has a great environment.
Dang! This place lives up to its reputation! Food was delicious, building and decor super fun and cute. But let me tell you about the service
Love the atmosphere and the food
Burned hamburger, canned mushrooms a slice of indistinguishable cheese, and topped off with too much chopped lettuce does not a mushroom cheeseburger make! Ugh.
Little slow but the place was busy. A classic route 66 vibe and diner feel. Food was good.
We took my mother in law here for her birthday and we decided to eat in the patio area. It was kind of dirty outside, but she wanted to eat out there so we did. The food took a long time and they failed to bring the beans and crackers like they normally do right away. We felt kind of forgot about. Then when we got the food the party melt was soggy and we had to send it back to the kitchen and get a burger instead. Even though they comped her meal, my daughter burger was still a little undercooked in the middle. Needless to say, I did not make her eat it. I love the owl cafe and normally do not have a problem, hence the good rating. We might go back again one time hoping the service and quality improve back to the way it was before or this is one customer who will not be returning.
