Fabulous food, 99% from scratch!! Came around brunch time on a Sunday and it was packed! The Pear and Mint cold teas are very different and refreshing. The eggs Benedict were a huge hit at our table. We added chicken to the Goat Cheese Quesadilla and the result was full on yummy. The Brie Omelette is something we’re going to try at home now! Fabulous! The staff were friendly and the Bloody Maria’s were gigantic. Overall a great experience. They’re a little light in the sparkly in the mimosas, as a note.
Absolutely delicious food, and fantastic tea. The restaurant is cozy, with a beautiful outdoor seating area. Highly recommend!
We were there for breakfast. Great food. Has a dog friendly patio. Good customer service.
Delightful staff, great food. The steak saltado breakfast was fantastic.
I had a great omelet for breakfast! Great place to eat, breakfast or lunch!!!
Delightful south western dishes, pleasant service, parking easy and local beer!
I don't like brunch, but I like Gutiz. Fresh, homemade food. Good service.
I really don't know where to begin!! It was my first time to dine at this restaurant and I wish it were closer to me so that I can eat here every week!! My friend and I drove up to Taos to celebrate our birthdays and we were hungry. A few cuisines we're mentioned during our search but this Latin/French cuisine has caught my attention. I took the liberty and made the decision. Oh boy, I was so glad I did. Walking into the restaurant, it was cozy and somewhat busy for the lunch crowd. We were greeted and seated right away. The inside was spacious; the outside patio seating area looked comfortable. Because it was summer, we decided to sit inside to enjoy the AC. Our server came to take our drink orders. My friend's iced tea was strong and my cactus pear lemonade was tasty. The lemonade was good but I wish it was less sweet and more sour. We ordered the foods and we did not disappoint. Recommendations were asked and we received answers. My friend ordered the Spanish Tortilla and I ordered the Paella. Both dishes were to die for. The paella was filled with seafood items and the rice was perfectly cooked! It was a good portion to share with 2 people -- which I did share. The Spanish Tortilla dish was very tasty too especially the tapanade....it was so dreamy and delicious.
Elegant and uniquely tasty European cuisine with a southwestern flair
Good food and fun.
Awesome. .delicious food. They like seeing babies there ❤
fabulous place! friendly people and AMAZING menu. The food was so very good I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
Wonderful lunch. Great little place.
Great food, lots of choices, and wonderful attentive staff.
Very unique and delicious food. Recommend the Mexican hot chocolate!
Well the chicken was prolly dog. If your expecting Mexican food this ain't the place to go
Food and service where excellent.
Gutiz is a beloved breakfast and lunch restaurant in Taos. We enjoyed our meal, lunching on ersatz Paella, which wasn't really Paella, and Spanish Tortilla. Gutiz is not a fancy place. Back in NY, we would call it a luncheonette. Everything is homemade, tasty, inexpensive, but not special. Service was well meaning, but we had a brand new server, who had not been trained well. Unfortunately, we were forgotten for long periods of time in an empty restaurant. The food we ate at Gutiz was good, but not great. I would not go out of my way to eat there.
Great service, Great view...WONDERFUL food!
Delightful food and service. Try the Spanish tortilla.
One of my favorite breakfast spots in Taos! Everything on the menu is good, but my personal favorite is the French toast and fruit. The atmosphere is charming and the staff friendly and helpful. Definitely check it out for breakfast or brunch if you're in Taos.
A tour bus of senior citizens arrived which definitely caused some slow service, but the food was great and the mimosas are huge!
Fun French-latin restaurant north side of Taos. We split a Croque Monsieur with side salad and got an extra side or potatoes. All was really good! Fair prices. Quick service and friendly staff. We also got a strawberry cream croissant which was delicious! Easy , free parking and fun decor (local art on display). Interior was bright and inviting. We would recommend when in area.
Always the best brunch on Sunday. Amazing staff!
Really good food. I had the Parisian crepe and it was pretty tastey, but had a little too much cheddar, which I thought cheapened it. Super friendly staff and very attentive. Unusual breakfast foods. The chef could perfect the recipes a bit, but I am being super picky. Great experience all around.
My favorite breakfast in Taos. Hardy bowls to amazing salads, great diversity of flavors. Great atmosphere.
Eggs Benedict was yummy! Blue berry breakfast thingy with HOMEMADE whipped cream made my morning! Don't pass up house special mint tea lemonade it's like the Kit Carson/Arnold Palmer! Service was very friendly!
Ambience not so much. Food outstanding. We will be back for sure
The menu was amazing as was the quality of food. Service was fast and friendly. Staff very personable. Wish we lived closer!
I have been to Taos many times, and have Benny's missing the opportunities to have breakfast at the wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere is beautiful and welcoming, the food is delicious and service is excellent.
Its delicious. A rare gem.
This place owns. They got delicious foods, really good tea, a dog-friendly patio, fast and friendly service. I legit think it might be the best restaurant in Taos.
Eclectic menu with Latin & French influence, excellent service, quiet ambience perfect for brunch, and the teas are sumptuous. Try the Sandia Rose if you are a tea afficianado. This is now on our must-visit list next time we are in Taos.
This place will blow you away with flavor
It may have been an off day, but we had to wait at least 45 minutes before we got our food after ordering, and that was after a 30 minute wait for our table (after being told that it was a 15 minute wait, and after seeing our table empty and set for at least 10 minutes). The food was fine but not spectacular.
OMG, the best french toast I ever had! Wife had the spanish tortilla, which was excellent also. Great setting and staff.
Wow, I was absolutely blown away by this restaurant. The owner and staff were super nice every second we were in there. The menu has so many options. I had a Spanish Tortilla and my friend had the paella. I’ve never had anything quite like the tortilla. It was a quiche with mushrooms and a sauce that was so flavorful. The paella had a lot of shrimp and the rice was cooked perfectly. The prices were also very reasonable. I will definitely return here my next trip to Taos.
Hands down the best food I have ever had. Me and my husband enjoyed the Pepito meal. He got steak and I got chicken. And WOW. So good. Wish we had food like this back down in south Texas.
Guti is always fresh and tasty and a little bit different than anywhere else.
Wonderful food with a French flare.
Interesting ingredient combinations
How I have never eaten her before is a mystery. Great food. 3 or 4 vegan options. Great place and food. Comfortable feel.
First time visiting Excellent service, atmosphere, and food. Our server, Tim, was extremely nice and charismatic. We had the French toast & sausage plate with belinis. A+ would recommend to anyone and would definitely return again.
Terrible. Arrived at the restaurant at 12:20 today with our dog after reading such great reviews. Sorry - not serving on the patio. Goodbye!
The eggs benedict was the best i have ever had the attention to detail was perfect my wife and i have been coming up to taos for 30 years and its a place we will come to each and every time we return. look out Michael's, the staff was friendly and attentive and the surroundings were lovely thanks again for the best breakfast i have had in taos ever !!!!
The atmosphere is really quaint. The menu is unlike any other in Taos. The flavors are delicious. The server we had was cheerful and did a great job of taking care of our dining experience. I highly recommend Gutiz.
We went for breakfast and loved the atmosphere. I had the Saltado and LOVED it. We we're pleasantly surprised.
Cozy and yummy. Super friendly staff. Abundant healthy choices along with decadent ones. Great service. My friend loved it as well. Will come again when in town. Beautiful space.
Great staff, fun environment, and good food. Their double espresso with a chocolate truffle is amazing. Thank you for a great breakfast, my family and I appreciated the wonderful service. Especially the cake for my cousins birthday, delicious!!
This place always has good everything!
Great upscale brunch place in Taos... innovative menu with European roots. Decent coffee. Decent truffles. Cute farm to table atmosphere.
Great food, a favorite place for breakfast and lunch, good feeling here. They have wonderful sauces made from sweet and spicy peppers.
Staffed here last night. Checked out. Needed a room for next night. Better room, nicest owner!!!! Said I'd stay again, didn't think it would be next day. Weekend too! ❤
Was just here once, but it was a memorable breakfast. Kitchen seemed slow, but worth the wait. I would be a regular if I lived within 30 miles, rather than 300.
Great food and great service !
Yum! Went here for lunch. Great sandwiches on fresh bread and really good coffee
Place is over rated. Food is not that great. Looks good but 80$ for 2 adults and 2 children. Way overpriced. Service is good and fast.
Brunch was delicious but service was a bit slow. The staff were friendly and explained the kitchen was backed up. Food tasted homemade and very fresh.
A quaint local restaurant with great food. All the employees are very nice.
The food was like heaven and our waitress was very helpful, especially with my onion allergy. They were busy and obviously a popular destination. The coffee was also extremely good. Would definitely go there again.
Gutiz is fantastic! I love the Taos rice, it's a great vegan option. Whenever people visit from out of town I'm sure to bring them here. Their hot sauces are super flavorful!
Great breakfast!
Found this on a whim driving into Taos and I'm just thrilled. We got the chicken saltado and the goat cheese quesadilla with the desert pear lemonade and it was all absolutely perfect. Wonderful service and a lovely patio. We'll definitely be back when we're in town next!
Best eggs Benedict!! The orange Marmalade it’s to die for, you can tell everything that we tried is homemade
This place has great service, amazing food (and dessert), plus they allow dogs on their patio! What more could you ask for? I'll definitely be visiting again next time I'm in Taos.
This place deserves every star possible. Absolutely amazing food and a great atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious, with the heavenly french toast winning. Perfection drizzled with syrup and fresh fruit. We had eaten here years ago and scoured the city to find this place again, because we knew it was that good. Our waitress was very nice and the food came quickly. Will definitely be eating here again and again. Only complaint was it isn't open Sunday or Monday!
Great food and staff were very professional!
Delicious brunch!
I highly recommend the ham and Brie crepes!
Had a fantastic birthday breakfast here! Shared the Crepe and French toast with my girlfriend, great mix of sweet and savory! Topped it off with a chocolate croissant for a dessert. Only issue with the meal was trying to walk out with the food coma! Great staff and killer food!
Great place for breakfast or lunch. The house salad has a French sensibility. The Mushroom soup was fantastic, but only needed a garnish of fresh cream or parsley for more eye appeal (it tasted way better than it looked). The fried calamari had a light fluffy batter and was pretty good. They've expanded since I was there last, used to be very cozy. Now has a more woody bistro feel. Lunch can be expensive in Taos, they don't give you a price break. But this place has reasonable prices, which I appreciate for lunch.
Great coffee, atmosphere and service. The Parisian Crepe was lovely and the salad perfect. I also bought some truffles, can't wait to savor them. This will be a go to place in Taos for me.
Okay...... I ordered the green Chile breakfast bowl. Thinking that, I had a notion in mind. Found out I had to order the egg (1 egg) separate. Weird. I ended up with bean soup, no refills unless I tracked the waitress down, and utter disappointment. I ate beans when I was poor. This was depressing and cost me roughly $14 after egg and standard tip. And a wait at the door. Did I order the wrong thing? Soup for breakfast? Bean soup? Tons of gross beans? Ugh!
The only thing that's good there is maybe the drinks. I personally dont like food that isn't cooked to my liking . So I dont have and recommendations for this place.
Great food and service. We will go back if we ever get to Taos again
Best restaurant in Taos. Even though it's mostly just breakfast food. Fresh, homemade, delicious. The staff are really friendly and made us feel at home with our crazy toddler. Don't miss this place.
Outstanding!!
Wonderful staff and wonderful food
Delicious but too many potatoes with the brie omelette
Goood food! Nice people.
Great grilled chicken sandwich and salad. Nice menu, pretty patio friendly service.
Gutiz has a dog-friendly patio! WOOHOO! The Mexican hot chocolate was perfect as was the Eggs Benedict...almost too much food. The bakery good looked delish, too. Definitely will be back with my friend who needs gluten free dishes.
Best New Mexico Lunch on my road trip!
Great service, really good food with unique flavors. Highly recommended for breakfast.
Excellent service, incredible food. You can tell that this spot takes pride in their food. Mostly scratch kitchen is truly impressive.
always great!!
Awesome food. Great gluten free and vegan options
Services and food are always spot-on
Looking for that interesting menu, Gutiz will fulfill this desire
Came in from out of town. Food was very good well worth the stop. You won't be disappointed at all with the food.
Delightfully delicious!!!
Very tasty food and great service.
We came in for breakfast and had a wonderful experience. I ordered the Parisian Crepe which was very tasty! We had our puppy with us and we stayed in the patio, the server even gave him water. They refilled our drinks and coffee before they were empty, the servers were very attentive and friendly. We highly recommend this wonderful place!!!
The breakfast here is delicious with the prices being more then reasonable. Their lunch fare isn't that exciting and isn't worth driving into town for. But that breakfast... MMm..
My biggest disappointment is that I wasn't able to try 4 or 5 other items on the menu that looked amazing. Everything we had was mouth watering and expertly prepared. A must stop if you are in town
Easily some of the highest quality in town. Love the is poured into this food, service is friendly and the dinning rooms are light and cozy. Just a wonderful experience - and the food is exquisite.
Great food anf great service.
The service was fantastic. I came in with a party of 5 and was seated with a very short wait. The food was great! The apple/pear crumble was a high point. It was the best breakfast I've had in Taos.
Always great food... service excellent
Wonderful breakfast! Brie omelet and scrambled eggs & sausage. Do get the French bread toast! Service was fast & good!
We shared a croissant to start. It was warm, light, and airy, and paired nicely with the orange marmalade. Next, we both ordered Eggs Benedict, which the server said they're known for. The homemade Hollandaise sauce was rich, creamy, and delicious. Their fresh-squeezed orange juice was sweet and tangy. Rich, tasty coffee was excellent as well. A wonderful dining experience that we would wholeheartedly recommend to others!
We love this place! Super friendly relaxed place where we can use outdoor seating with our dog ;)
Try the paella!
Bacon very crispy, ie overcooked. Salad for breakfast? Must be French
I got to try a little bit of a few dishes from our table and all of them were fantastic! The French toast was especially satisfying for the sweet tooth, but the Parisian crepe was my personal favorite. The coffee was also delicious and the service was friendly! I would highly recommend stopping by.
Great home cooked food and good service.
Latin fusion with all types of flavors.
Great food! Amazing tea selection. Friendly staff. The homemade French bread and marmalade was so good. I wish we would’ve gotten a jar to take home!
The andouille sausage and green Chile bowl is a religious experience. I have to get it every time I’m in Taos.
Amazing breakfast in a cute hip reasturant.
Croque Madame was so good!
Gutiz is always great! Great help and great food!
The service was really slow. A girl waited on us but was so busy talking to someone at the bar another young man kept filling our drinks and asking if we needed anything. Thank goodness he stepped in. Food was ok
Family owned. Been in Taos for many years. Locals love it. Very good food. Large portions. Friendly staff. A little bit loud on the patio from the street and the auto shop next door. Inside eating is nice. Make sure you try the home made Aji Panca Chili Sauce. Mild. Full flavor. Unique. Closes at 3pm.
Great food. Ok service.
Amazing little spot, the food and tea were wonderful.
I ordered the Beet Salad and it was not up to par. I got chunks of the salad, the dressing did not go well with this particular salad. The calamari is not as good as the one they serve at Pizzano's. For $19 dollars I could of gone some where else. I have eaten here before and the food was great, I don't know what happened this time...
I love their desserts and habanero salsa! Great service, and they have a dog friendly patio
Great food and reasonably priced.
Good healthy food
It was great .I love every bite.
The food is awesome! I've had almost everything in the menu and never disappointed. The staff is super friendly.
Perfect place for a healthy breakfast and very friendly staff.
I wish there was more bakery selection. Came in for something sweet, but almost all the options were chocolate. Croissant was light and buttery but the orange marmalade had too much pith making it bitter
One of the best places to eat in Taos.
We struggled to find a non-tourist type place to eat in Taos central but based on reviews stopped here on the way out of town for take out. I regret not being able to sit down: the food was great, the counter staff that waited on us was incredibly friendly and patient, the atmosphere was pleasant and the prices very reasonable. We are a Midwestern vegetarian and an enthusiastic Texas carnivore and both found interesting things on the menu but for us the staff seemed to be what would put this place over the top. As we waited for the food we sat at the bar: there was a regular there chatting with the counter person as she made coffee, etc. The other waitstaff smiled and asked us how our day was as they walked by even though we weren't sitting at their station. The host was quite helpful and friendly as well!
French-NewMex fusion realized in exactly the way one would dream. It's truly phenomenal from food through service. Favorite locals spot.
Best breakfast we have had in so long! French toast and their French bread was to die for!
Wonderful small restaurant in Taos..beet salad did not disappoint and the chocolate truffle for desert was great!
Took the advice of a friend. Great place for breakfast. Place was busy but staff was hopping. Great place to stop in Taos.
Outstanding service, food, and truffles...dont pass this place by if your travels take you to Taos.
Worth the wait! Try the eggs benedict!
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent atmosphere. Truly a breath of fresh air in Taos. I love their teas and eggs Benedict.
Had the breakfast crepe, but with spinach instead of ham. Can't say it was great, but it was interesting. Staff was friendly. Patio allowed dogs. Coffee was good. I noticed the menu said they charge $1 extra per egg if you want organic -- seems kinda chintzy to me. Overall, 4 stars.
Amazing place for breakfast or lunch. They make everything from scratch so it can take a bit to come out service was outstanding and do try their tea selection from a local passionate tea blend maker! I had the Sweet Bree Sandwich simply amazing. We will be back before we head back to Dallas where we are hard pressed to find quality like this at amazingly reasonable prices!
Simply great food, outstanding service. Lunch, with coffee, $14.00..Eggs Benedict the Best!!
Get the eggs Benny with fresh spinach and tomatoe.....You will not be disappointed!
A wonderful restaurant with an incredible menu f great dishes. Absolutely my favorite place for breakfast or lunch. None better in Taos unless you want local cuisine of the northern New Mexico variety. Can get kind of noisy when busy so needs some sound deafening materials. Would give it ten stars if I could.
