Nice place. It's broken into sections so it's not too noisy. They have patio seating outside. There are long tables, a bar and booths to eat in. Food was good, not too hot, not overpriced. They have Mexican and American and barbeque in the mix. Interesting and yummy.

The atmosphere is really very nice and the service attentive. The food was quite frankly amazing. The white cheddar mac & cheese was delicious. The smoked meatloaf was life changing. The home made bbq chips were fantastic. Really, everything we tried was outstanding. Cannot recommend this place strongly enough.

First time here was today. During lunch rush. Waitress was great! Attentive! Good was delicious! Not a long wait. Nice atmosphere! Tables outside with ample shade. Enjoyed the visit and will be returning! Ordered the pulled pork roast. Couldn't eat it all. The spicy pickles are definitely a favorite. Nice selection of beer and wine. Reasonably priced.

First off the building is very nicely remodeled fro the old satellite coffee days. We we're greeted with a smile and the restaurant was very presentable and clean. It took longer than I'd like to be greeted by the waitress, especially since there was only about 9 people in the place at the time. However the service was great once we were greeted. The food was so fresh and delicious! I will definitely be returning to this place for many more visits. The owners of this place, the range cafe, and standard diner really know what they are doing.

My family really likes this place. It is especially nice in warm weather, when the patio is open. My favorites are the fish tacos with house made kimchi and the shrimp and grits. My son really likes the pulled pork. They also have a quality selection of beers. It's worth the drive.

Freight leaves a lot to be desired not sure if it was just the night that we (2 of us) went or something else. The food was just overall not good the side of macaroni that we got had no flavor to it and it was like they just opened a box from the store threw it in to a pot of water let it cook and sent it out. The burger was so thin and burnt I thought I was eating a burger from Freddy's steak-burgers. The ribs were also very dry and all of the sauce they put on it was only in the middle on both racks not very much sauce was put even in the middle the other parts of it had nothing on it just tasted like a generic piece of meat. They also seem to have a priority for certain people who enter the restaurant. We went in when it was not very busy only a about a dozen tables were taken. We were told it would be about a 10 minute wait to be seated the place is pretty big and we could see multiple tables and booths open. An older couple maybe around their 60's went in about 5 minutes after we got there and they were seated right away by the staff and what seemed to maybe be a manager he had a fedora like hat. I'm not sure what I was expecting since this place is owned by the people who own the range and that place is also terrible. Anyways TLDR: If you want to throw your money away on bad food and bad service go here.

The majority of the staff seemed so annoyed that they actually had a job to do and people to serve. I wonder if this place is managed badly, and that's why the staff seemed so unhappy. The service was very slow. The food was ok. The selections were a little slim, but the quality of the food was fine. The BLAT sandwich was pretty good. My kids ordered the ribs, which were fine, but the Mac and cheese was only ok. The BBQ chips were meh. They have a good beer selection, but do not serve half pints, which is always annoying-- like seriously, you can't just give me half the amount and charge me a little less? I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

The menu items sounded delicious. Server was great. Very informative and pleasant. The food was quite a disappointment. The meat was very dry Not at all what I expected of BBQ. Desserts sounded wonderful so hoped that would make lunch experience better. And it was. Dessert was a very large serving. We shared the blueberry peach cobbler with icecream. And weren't able to finish it. Sorry that meal wasn't what I expected.

The wait/bar service has gone way down since Chelsea, Arelis, and Rich have gone. The kitchen is still slow to get food out, had to wait 30 minutes for food! Plus, the appetizer showed up at the same time as the main course. The Chef needs to reevaluate how he wants to run the restaurant. After today's experience I will not be back and cancelling my rewards membership, just sad it was a great place with outstanding service...

A year ago we visited and it was so good it was the only place I wanted to eat at while in town. This year, pizza was burnt....like BLACK on the bottom. And some of our meal was inedible....that's what I would expect from an Applebees, not an expensive mom n pop.

Excellent atmosphere! Excellent food. Tonight my partner and I both had taco plates. For appetizers we had the Fr8 Fries and Fried GreenTomatillos. For dinner we had the Smoked Chicken Tacos and the Buffalo Cauliflower Tacos. All were yummy! For dessert we shared the Lemon Bar Eggrolls (pictured). The staff here is always amazing; friendly and attentive.

I've eaten here several time and it seems to be pretty consistent. They have a nice laid back atmosphere with TV's near the bar that don't cause distraction. The service has always been good even when we had a large group. The food is more unique than most places in the area. Very large servings. I would recommend to any one coming to the area looking for a place to eat.

We came here at what we thought shouldn't be a super busy time, 3:45pm. We ordered chips and queso and a burger. 45 minutes later, we still didnt have any chips and queso. Other people who were seated after us received their appetizers before us, which prompted my husband to have to leave his seat to find our server and ask what was up. My guess is she forgot to put the order in. We got the chips a few minutes later. The burger arrived 10 minutes or so after that (which was 1 hour now since we had sat down). It was actually a great burger, so I was thinking hey maybe I might want to try this place again. Our check should have been $20, but when we received our credit card receipt we were charged $108.00!! We then had to go inside and find a manager to fix it. She gave us a quick apology but I feel she should have offered a discount on our bill for all of that nonsense. Will never return!!

Wonderful customer service. Some of the food is amazing. Their salmon, for example, is fantastic. Their brisket is dryer than sawdust, way overcooked, leaves much to be desired. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the staff are quite friendly. I'd say if you can navigate their menu to find their better meals, this is a great place to go for unique faire and affordable options for families or groups.

So, family came here 2 yrs ago on trip from Albuquerque to Mesa Verde. They were a newer restaurant but my family had a good meal so we wanted to return. Food was unique and above average. Brisket a little dry- but as someone who spends 12 hours cooking brisket, I know it's difficult to do, let alone keep it in a restaurant-- but fried tomatilloes were awesome. Beer selection excellent. My 7 yr old (who remembered her trip here at 5 yrs old) had a good time playing checkers in the bar and liked her food,so all is right with the world.

Had the smoked turkey. Undoubtedly the worst thing I’ve put in my mouth in decades. I was expecting decent bbq aftwr having read the reviews here, but instead was served slabs of shoe learher that did taste like smoke. This joint needs to learn proper bbq cooking. The fried okra wasn’t bad, but it’s hard to screw up frozen okra. If I could have rated this joint zero, I would have.

Seriously great service, and the food is just as good. I went with my family, and sat on the patio with our three dogs. The servers were super kind and brought out THREE water bowels, one for each dog. The food came out quick and was one of the best burgers I've had in the ABQ/Berna area. Restaurant is VERY clean and has a really nice aesthetic, very similar to Flying Star in ABQ. I almost feel like the same architect designed both buildings! Very much would recommend

I ordered the bison burger, medium rare. The burger comes with mushrooms, bleu cheese and caramelized onions. My burger didn't have the bleu cheese, they put it on my son's burger instead. When I tried to cut my burger in half and pick up one half, the ropy lettuce leaf on the bottom caught the burger patty and pulled the whole thing apart, leaving the patty in six pieces on my plate. There's no way anyone could hold that mess and eat it without getting it all over them. The meat was unseasoned as were the mushrooms and even together, the burger was bland. My son's burger, even with my bleu cheese on it, was bland. My daughter's turkey (from the BBQ menu) was dry and the mac and cheese was bland. My FIL had the ribs, they were small and a little dry and my wife had the chicken and grits and her's was okay. The grits have enough green chile in them to make your eyes water, even if you like hot food. Overall, I wasn't impressed and we probably won't return. They do have a decent selection of beer on tap with some local favorites and a few more esoteric selections.

Yuk,yuk,yuk! $85 wasted dollars on three nasty meals! Bbq was cold, waffles and chicken was on a weird bean salad, bison burger was tasteless. Service was bad, we had to ask for water and the waitress never checked on us until she brought the bill. So disappointed. Um shocked by the good reviews. I'll never even give it a second try. We had a hard time eating this mess. Also, they charged us for an additional full meal that we didn't order. We had to go back the next day to reconcile.

The 2 hostess were rude upon arrival at 715 on a Friday night. They said it would be atleast an hour before we would get food. What a greeting and 1st impression . We saw 4 open seats on the bar and took them. The bar staff was awesome and deserve 5 stars however the rest of the experience was a complete joke. I order the fish and chips and it was terrible. 75 percent of it was dark brown and burnt,while the rest was raw batter. If I ever go back to the freight house it will be to soon

We stopped in for lunch. We had our dog with us, so we stayed out in the patio area. We checked in at the front to make sure that was okay. One of the ladies said no problem, I will be right out. We watched as several other people were seated and drinks were delivered. No one ever came out. We waited patiently over 20 minutes and finally left. If you didn't want to serve us you should have told us. We were passing through town saw your sign off the highway. What a disappointment.

I used to frequent the Freight House quite often, but as of recently the quality of service has declined. My recent experience was appropriately handled by management, yet the food after 45 minutes was less than stellar. The bar service, on the other hand, has always been quite exceptional. I am hopeful.

I have been there 3 times and I want to like Freight House so much because I love the great local beer selection! The atmosphere and service are great too. But damn this fancier take on BBQ is often oily, burnt, and just wrong.

I've been here 3 times, once alone and twice with my wife. All times the food was fabulous. On the other hand all 3 times service was very low par to down right horrible. Servers take your order and then disappear for the next 20-30 mins. No drink refills no plates cleared and in one case no utensils or condiments provided! I'm going to attribute it to my ethnanticaty, due to the fact 1st time a mistake, 2nd time a choice, 3rd time an outright disregard for the local race that dominates the area. It's really a shame because the parent company just a few blocks down the street is very fair and accommodating. The food is great too bad service is so poor, if you are a person of color. 3 stars given because food is great.

The food here is excellent! And the rotating beers are good too!! My husband and I were new to the area and discovered this hidden gem. We have yet to sit in the restaurant portion as we always have a great time in the bar area. Chelsea, Arelis, and Keegan are fantastic and always make our night that much better! Everything was what you would expect from an American cuisine restaurant. The portions were generous, and the pricing was on par for what you would expect. The atmosphere was open and you didn't feel crowded with the people around you. The beer selection had some of the best selections you could find, especially from the local breweries. Overall a great experience.

Very disappointing. I ordered 1/2 pound of brisket to go. Received a small foil tub with maybe 12 slices of dry flavorless meat with no condiments or sauce of any kind. Not even pickles and onions. They need to visit a Rudy's Country Store and see how it's done.

Was told it was going to be 10 monroe's before we could be seated. (There were numerous enmity tables) decided to sit in the bar area. For the almost hour we were there she continued to quote really looking waiting times and then sat the others immediately. We ordered our lunch.... waited 45 mins and no one ever came over to communicate with us what was taking so long. Fed up with waiting and needing to go back to work my boyfriend finally got up from where we were sitting to walk over to the kitchen to ask what was the issue. The simple but also very puzzling reply we got was "There was an issue with the cheese...." We left without getting to eat lunch.

Cannot speak highly enough about this restaurant. Excellent beer selection from around the state. Excellent French fries however I would prefer Heinz catchup to also be served beside their vinegary house catchup. The service was great both times we went. I won’t knock them for their green Chile because this is a bbq joint after all. Clean AND HEATED bathrooms, what a plus for the colder months. My biggest gripe is the hours. It's not fine dining, but the food here is great. Only place I've ever had smoked meatloaf (delicious) and their smoked carne adovada is, in our opinion, the best in the ABQ area. Good beer selection adds to the fun.

This is THE place to eat in Bernalillo and the surrounding area. I work close by and eat out every day, have tried everything in the area and this is the best place by far. Very relaxing, excellent food, good beers, good stuff and service. Not expensive and usually fast.

We waited 45 minutes for SALAD! Then, we waited another 15 minutes for no good burnt food. Definitely my worst experience in a bbq place.

Great burgers, sandwiches and fries. There’s a lot of great options on the menu but I’ve always stuck with the burgers and have not been disappointed. The burger with kimchi is delicious. Also have an extension beer list with lots of great local NM beers on tap

It's good to be back in my hometown. This place is an offshoot of The Range, a local establishment that predates even me, in the late 80's/early 90's. The food was solid, the draft list is extensive and well curated, with alot of local beers. Great service and a friendly atmosphere topped off a good meal.

I never knew this lovely place was so close to ABQ. A very welcoming restaurant that serves local craft beers. Not all of them but enough to get something from other breweries you make like. There's also a patio with a fireplace. They have a menu that's different from other places. I ordered the Cubano and it was delicious. The staff are the real Albuquerque deal. Nice, attentive, and they like to joke with the customers. There were families eating and the service was fast and efficient. You can choose a menu item and customize it. I had a side of roasted brussel sprouts with my Cubano. I'm definitely going back again. There was just a couple of TV's. Not the overwhelming amount that you see in a lot of places. Very low key but very nice and energetic. Try it, you'll like it

Super great service here!! Reserved a table via google on the drive there from abq and when i arrived (a few mins prior to my res), the two girls up front said itd be a 15 min wait. I told them i booked online and they verified my name, took me and my guest immediately to a GREAT table and wow! I felt like the VIP I totally am, and I 1.highly reccomend this place for service and 2. RESERVE VIA GOOGLE!! Food was a 4, and I cannot give it a full 5 because of this. But ill def try again to see if that changes.

I thought the Air conditioning was out cuz it was hot . Ordered water and some food . When the food arrived I ordered a beer. Accidentally knocked beer over after one sip and the bartender disappeared. When she came back she asked me if I wanted to order another beer . I told yes I wanted her to replace my spilled one ..DUH... SHE SAID I WOULD HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER. can you believe. I said I would not and I would not even take the food if she would not replace it .she said she would ask the manager. Manager said she could give me half a beer .. as I was leaving manager decided to give me a whole one and remake my cold food. GASP. I can only deduce after all the turmoil to replace a spilled beer, that the A/C was not broken they just must not be able to afford to run it if they can't afford a spilled beer ..PS.. food was good. AND it was,not the bartender fault. I own a restaurant and would ALWAYS replace a spilled beer.
