If you are in the area you should definitely eat at Frank's Famous Chicken and Waffles! Stellar prices and everything we has was crazy delicious. The service was friendly and prompt. I highly recommend the shrimp and cheesy grits and the friend okra. We ordered a ridiculous amount of food because we wanted to try a nice variety and nothing disappointed.

Love eating here! On the weekends there can be a line but its always worth it. The batter on the chicken is mouth watering and the waffles are a great compliment! Would also reccomend trying the fries as well as the links!

5/5: The food was great. Prices are totally affordable ($5 for 2 tenders and a waffle) which is a big plus for me, as once a broke college student, always a broke college student. Also, I just enjoyed the atmosphere, sitting on the patio on a cool day in ABQ with some trees - there was some traffic noise and I didnt mind but my friend did, a little. Nice, friendly staff. No complaints whatsoever.

The lady in front of me ordered chicken and waffles, and I ordered four sides--fried pickles, fried mushrooms, candied yams, collard greens. We ate it down at a relaxed pace, washed down with grape kool aid, never rushed. I packed the pickles to do; washing them down now elsewhere with a mojito.

Terrible parking. You can park in the rear but there are homeless people camping out doing who knows what. Finally , after circling the place for a parking for 20min, parked in the front and walked in. Dude says “no longer taking orders”. Sign flashing “OPEN”, no sorry for the inconvenience or explanation. Can’t speak on the taste but the food smelled good. Don’t know if it’s worth it

It was my first time there. We waited to get seated long time when the table that we were seated at was EMPTY when we walked in and the GIRL kept telling us she'll be right with us when she could have jus seated us at that table and we wouldn't have to wait so long. I didn't grow up eating chicken and waffles so I am by no means an expert, but I really enjoyed it here. The first time I had chicken and waffles, it was home made and that set the bar. The food here is just as good as home made food. You can tell they really care about the food they make and it comes across in the quality. The food is very reasonably priced and you get a lot of great food. The actual location is not the best because it's not very big or in a good area. Other than the location, it's a great place to eat some delicious food. I definitely recommend eating here.

Excellent. More food than i had expected. So we had to take some home which just means the food is less expensive since to stretches over many meals. There was a longer wait than I expected but the home cooking was worth it. Definitely made from scratch goodness. The fries are fresh from potatoes with light seasoning fried in the chicken grease. Next time I'm like I'm just gonna get 3 things of fries.

Love this place! Today was my fiancee and I's first time. We drove out from Rio Rancho to try a new place for chicken and waffles. Hands down the best chicken and waffles I've ever had, the bacon pecan waffles were out of this world good and the chicken just topped it off with it nice crispiness and juicy interior. I also love sweet tea and havent found anywhere in town that can compare to my mama's sweet tea and ohh man did they make me feel like my mom was hiding in the back brew up the batch I just drank. All the servers were really nice and made sure we were tended to accordingly. The atmosphere here is amazing as well, good music and music memorabilia tastefully as decoration to pair. Not only was all this great but the prices were even better, 5$ got me the best chicken and waffles I have ate in my whole life. My server today was Brittany and she took great care of us, highly recommend this place to everyone. This is a don't pass up gem for anyone in Albuquerque visiting or residing.

Outstanding southern comfort food served in a homey environment with excellent music and service. Lots of resturants try to make chicken and waffles southern style but fall short, this place is not one of them. Sweet, crunchy and savory dishes available as well as traditional southern chicken dinner and wings. Menu is detailed and offerings are flexible.

This place (in ABQ) had the most fantastic fried chicken I’ve ever had and their green beans are to die for! I mean, all the food we got was really good, but those items were something beyond. The waitress was super sweet, too. Our only regret is not having found this place sooner!

Our 2019 Summer Trip/Food Tour ended at Frank's Famous Chicken & Waffles and I'll just say it, they took the cup this year. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was warm and felt like home. All I can say is keep doing what you are doing and "How" you are doing it, regardless of what some of these "People" write on this page. I’m so glad this place turned out to be amazing! I was hugely disappointed in Mr. Powdrell’s and wasn’t sure if Frank’s would meet my Southern expectations, but man oh man! The greens are slap yo mama good. The kool aid tastes like childhood. The mac n chz is the kind you wrap your elbow around to keep people out of your plate, and the fried okra were Louisiana good. Kudos on the grits, too. That’s a hard one to replicate outside of the South but Frank’s nailed it.

Well as a delivery driver I love trying out new places. Frank's is one that I have been wanting to for a while now. Love the new location. Still love the sound on vinyl. I have a son who is extremely picky about food. 15 piece chicken and wings is an instant hit with him. The shrimp poboy and the catfish poboy are a great choice also. Highly recommend.

Always a dope, goosebumpin' experience when I visit. The food, music and people remind me of my childhood and family. They are very no frills and allow the food to shine front and center. Which it always does. They won't distract you with fancy shiny decorations and such, just accumulated pictures and various nostalgia throughout their history. The new location was packed, as it should be, and Frank is always a humble and personable cat. The shrimp and grits are my second favorite to the wings and grits. Seasoning, sides, atmosphere, no frills, friendly, In my honest opinion, the best restaurant in Albuquerque.

Fantastic place. I tried both their famous chicken and waffles and a poboy with fried pickles when I went. Both are amazing. They add just the right amount of cinnamon into their butter and it really goes great with both the chicken and waffles. The poboy was really good and reminded me of one I had in a diner IN Louisiana once. The friendly staff and Mason jar iced tea didn't hurt either. All in all, it's a nice place to have a relaxed breakfast or lunch in a chill environment (inside or outside) and take it slow.

I took food to go tried chicken and waffle junior and got really sick from uncooked chicken I reached out to the health department and am waiting for a response spoke with a cook they told me it happens pretty often I don't think they realize how serious this really is

The food at Frank's was good the first month at the new location. Since then it has gone down hill. It did have potential at first. If you go, expect to have to wait 10min. for someone to take your drink order. Then another 40 minutes to get your food. Expect the the food to be lukewarm at best and the chicken to be tough. The macaroni and cheese used to be good before they started adding cinnamon to it. On top of the food and service being a disaster, they play loud annoying music so loud that you cant have a comfortable conversation with anyone at your table. Overall don't waste your time eating here. There's nothing famous about Frank's.

You want a hidden gem, this is te place. Dont let the menu fool you, the food is great. These are the best chicken wings, waffels and chili fries to date. I travel with my team yearly to different locations and this place was a great surprise. I highly recomend this mom and pop restuarant. The food is rich tasty and not messy. Lastly the ice tea or combination are sensational and the staff is friendly and attentive. We were served promptly and our food arrive on a timely manner considering we had 22 people in our group. A must visit if your in Albuquerque.

The waitress was pleasant, but totally unavailable. Had to refill my own beverage twice despite a sign stating Staff Only. The owner was sitting next to the service counter, we met eyes, but didn't say a thing. You pay tableside which was a trap. The waitress graciously offered to provide a take away sweet tea, which I accepted. Six minutes later, no tea and no waitress; just left. I've had better waffles at IHOP and much better chicken tenders at Raisin Cain. Can't recommend this place.

Chicken wings are well seasoned and the batter is very crispy! Waffles could be a little thicker but they are yummy. SWEET tea and lemonade are always fresh and delicious and them being served in a Mason jar make it even better in my opinion :)

I really don't know where to start... this place has atmosphere, warm family staff, music, movies, and delicious food. All tie in together. Chicken and waffles (not enough words), crisp, moist, and tender wings with thin light waffles topped with cinnamon butter. Louisiana Hot Sauce table side to spice it up a notch. Collard greens cooked to perfection!! Chunks of turkey, tender, and makes your mouth water for more. Cheesy grits, simply yum. The list continues. Not only is the food good and atmosphere authentic, it's clean. My favorite part... Kool-aid is offered to wash it all down. They have southern sweet tea and lemonade as well!! While you wait for your abundant meal to be served you can look at old album covers collectibles, cassettes, etc. that adorn the walls. We will be back many more times.

We drove down from Rio Rancho to see what all the HYPE was about. We were not disappointed. I read the reviews and was kind of worried. BUT, I was so happy, ecstatic about this establishment. I feel that these people that gave comments were just needed something to flap their jaws about or was just in a terrible mood. Our waitress was EXCELLENT. She checked on us constantly( the place was packed) but she never forgot us. The food was hot and good. The atmosphere was great and everyone including the customers waiting for to go orders were nice. We really enjoyed the hostess she was so accommodating and very positive. What a great experience, I can’t wait until my daughter comes home from Houston so we can take her down there. See you soon. Oh I forgot Grub hub and Door Dash was in and out of there picking up food. Just an FYI.

My husband picked up an order to go today on a Sunday. Not a good idea for any restaurant, especially one that just reopened. However, definitely worth the wait! The wings were very good. They remind me of how my grandmother and my mother would cook them. I was disappointed about the greens because there wasn't enough of them! My hubby did not ask for a larger container. The taste was phenomenal!!! God bless you Frank's we will be back and for a larger container of greens for sure!
