Great food but limited seating.

Nightmare experience. Had 8pm reservations, confirmed twice. Showed up 5 minutes early, said there was a wait. Waited till 8:10 asked how much longer the hostess said about 15 minutes. We said we were going to walk across the street for a drink and be back in 10minutes but call if it opened before we got back. We were back in 10 minutes and they had given away our table. Didn't even apologize. So many better options in ridgewood, don't bother with this place

Matt Norton

Food and atmosphere were great. Only reason for 4 stars was the food took longer than I would have liked for brunch.

Food was well made and staff were very accommodating however I felt the food was a bit too simple in nature and given the vibe, crowd and menu styling I hoped for a bit more depth to the flavors of the huevos ranchero and the avocado toast.

Elisa Borowski

The food was good but during the week they don't have their scones and that was a big bummer. Husband had the huevos rancheros and said they were good but he wouldn't order it again without trying the other breakfast options first. The veggie bowl was quite good and hearty.

Cold soup. A smear of chicken salad on bread. And horrible service. Waited 35 minutes for food. Won't come back

Second time coming to this restaurant and unfortunately I wasn't as pleased with the food as the first time. Food was just ok. Maybe it was an off day or maybe they changed the cook but it wasn't as good as first visit and a little disappointing.

Matt Kuiken

Cute cafe, but that's it. Food was mediocre at best and the service was terrible. Two waitresses were present and struggling to juggle the customers. The mens bathroom lights do not work. I had to use my phones flashlight.

April Harvey

Fresh food. Always plenty to eat

Benswing Rich

Delicious food, attentive service and sustainable practices make this the best choice of dining in Ridgewood. Enjoyed their grass fed burger, fish tacos, and corn Succotash tremendously!

Visited for the 1st time a couple days ago and have been meaning to write this happy endorsement! I'm trying a new health regimen and was having trouble finding places serving grass fed meat. I walked into this clean, brightly decorated cafe and was pleasantly greeted by the host who reassured me that most of the menu had what I needed. Ravenous, I opted for a quick burger and sweet potato fries--in a word, SCRUMPTIOUS! The fries (which came accompanied by spicy mayo dipping sauce and simple ketchup) were freshly prepped, crispy on the outside, hot and soft in the center with a light sprinkle of sea salt. The burger was perfectly cooked, moist, and flavorfully slathered with a tangy tomato ramoulade. My waiter checked in on me and even warmed up my water when I requested it be room temperature--thanks for the awesome customer service! If you're looking for a healthy and tasty option in Ridgewood, why not give them a try?

Meh... Poke bowl was good though... Service was meh, grass fed burger was meh...

Nice atmosphere and good service. Food was unremarkable but enjoyable. Good coffee with cup kept full

Went on a Sunday, was busy and we had to wait for a few minutes for a table.. Worth the wait, loved the food as well..

Adorable place just went here with my dad. The salmon and sweet potato fries were great and ordered two bowls of the free popcorn haha

Came for Sunday brunch, left thoroughly impressed. The decor is very simple yet cool, featuring a small plant wall and modern yet rustic touches. My waitress gave me excellent suggestions and I ended up with the avocado toast, and a side of their vegetable hash browns. The quality and freshness of the food was evident. My friend fell in love with the Dutch pancakes. We will be back!

Carolina Castro

Came here for brunch and ordered the steak and eggs. The food was so so, I've had better brunch at other places. The coffee was very good.

Cool, cozy, relaxed ambiance. Simple tasteful menu. Great service and excellent meals portions.

Nice spot, good location and good service. Interesting menu. I think there is a lack of execution. It looked like salad wasn't checked before it was brought to the table, I don't like dark ends of the salad. Chorizo omelette had almost no Chorizo in it, if I didn't put hot sauce on it would taste just like eggs. Sorry white maple, maybe better next time.

I brought my husband and two year old daughter to the cafe today for my husbands Father's Day brunch. We went last year when my daughter was one and we thought it would be nice to make this a tradition. We made a reservation for 10:30am and were perfectly on time! Well the Manager, Rob, was not only rude but completely disrespectful when we arrived. We gave our name and immediately were told we had to sit outside because THEY had double booked. The only table outside was 50% in the sun and I am 39 weeks pregnant and have a 2 year old. We asked how long the wait would be inside given 75% of the restaurant was currently EMPTY. Rob, the Manager, said "at least 30 mins" and we could wait at some bar table that had two feet of clearance. My husband handled the situation very calmly given he knew I was working hard to make his day special but the mood was certainly dampened when we sat down outside and he was in direct sunlight for his special brunch. This restaurant is not somewhere I would recommend for families given our experience. Either that or hope Rob is not "in" when you arrive. I suggest they start to pay more attention to reservations as well as families given the family friendly area! Disgusting!

Nice atmosphere, but pretty over priced.

Food is unfortunately just too inconsistent to recommend. Seems to be worse on busy days like a sunday brunch. Atmosphere is nice though.

Jane Penola

Went here for an impromptu brunch today which they do until 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays. They serve complimentary cinnamon sugar popcorn to start which I thought was a cute and tasty treat. As an appetizer snack we ordered the deviled eggs of the day which were bacon and sriracha filled- very delicious! For my entree I got the huevos rancheros with the addition of the in house made spicy sausage. It was not only delicious, but sooo filling and satisfying. Our server was great, had awesome recommendations. The only reason I rated 4 stars was because they only serve wine by the bottle. They offer brunch mocktails, but I would have loved to have been able to have a mimosa or bellini with some champagne. Definitely check it out though!

Melissa Cohen

Perfectly charming, upscale, and unique brunch spot in Ridgewood. The dishes put a fresh spin on the usual classics. My smoked salmon Benedict and matcha latte were delicious! I cannot wait to dine here again!

Food is good, BYOB & servers are great, friendly, kind & pleasant. The only drawback is the serving wait for my orders was a bit longer than expected

Great food, super nice employees, they were able to handle our small celebration. I have been here a handful of times and I will be back for sure!

Yes. FIVE STARS. This is a quaint cafe' with warm atmosphere and exceptional quality. I visited for the first time today due to a business meeting with a local who frequents this "home feel" cafe'. Tasting the zepole? No. Experiencing the zepole! Not your average recipes. The owner greeted me at the door and seated me while I waited for my colleague. Complimentary choice of water and flavored popcorn was a nice little touch to welcome a guest. He was so pleasant. And though his pleasantry may have been improved because the local was my companion, I appreciated the friendliness during our time their. Definitely not a disappointment if you choose to experience it too. Highly recommended.

Eagerly brought my family for fish tacos & French fries. Tortillas we're cold and raw. Fish and remoulaude sauce was very good. French fries were not evenly sized and some were burnt and greasy. Fries that were prepared & fried properly were very good. Waitress was great! M/Ridgewood NJ

Just came into White Maple for the first time for brunch. We had such a great experience! The atmosphere is inviting and beautifully yet simply decorated. Upon seating, a bowl of delicious cinnamon sugar popcorn is served. There are also plenty of vegetarian options. We ordered the veggie burger (so yummy and large portion! Got to take half home for later) and the eggs Benedict (which I was told was equally as delicious). Servers were very friendly and attentive. Overall, such a great first experience and will definitely be back.

Cozy atmosphere in this small cafe. We were there at brunch (10-3) hour on Saturday. You're served a gratis little bowl of cinnamon sugar dusted popcorn to start you off. I opted for the Vermont Benny, which is poached eggs over lightly toasted English muffins with vermont cheddar hollandaise, house-made spicy pork sausage patties, served with small cubed home fries in a bowl. Sausage was quite good and not all that spicy. The poached eggs were perfectly done. My partner had scrambled eggs with the home fries and thick whole grain toast. Their coffee and hot chocolate were great. Service by Rob was friendly and efficient. We left full and content.

Ben Sinclair

Fantastic brunch! Service was a tad slow, but overall was great!

I liked this place but there were a few things that didn't speak well with my soul. We sat down to eat for Sunday Brunch outside and were ask what water we wanted still or sparkling. They served us water and walked away. I noticed later in the meal that we were the only ones who did not have the bottles of water left with us. My wife and I are POC so I had to wonder if that was the reason why. I left it alone. But this is why they get a 3. The service was not extended the same to us as was to everyone else

Brandon Burke

Absolutely amazing place! The food is delicious and great quality, customer service is platinum level. Rob is very polite and very helpful. Try this place out you won’t be disappointed!

Sue Dinetz

Place looked nice enough so we sat down indoors. My friend had an injured tailbone and the seats had no cushions. We asked if they had a booster seat that maybe had a cushion and the reply was no I suggested we bunch up some of their cloth napkins so she asked the manager if he could provide some extra napkins. He angrily said he would provide 3 only. He left and I spotted extra napkins on a shelf behind me so I took one more. He came angrily rushing over telling me they only had a certain amount of napkins and not to take anymore. He wasn’t the least bit discreet. No accommodation made by this guy. Our waiter who was pleasant enough when we sat down, never returned to our table to ask if we needed anything else to drink, etc. My prosciutto flatbread was so dry, I barely ate it. Will not return

Daniel Gu

It's okay food, but expensive for what you get. Photographs nicely though, and felt cozy.

Korean cauliflower is a nice appetizer. Flavorful, fun and light on the calories if I'm looking at it right. Delicious.

Hiram Barsky

Way overpriced American food. Burger was $17 . A veggie omelette was close to $15. It seems people go for the decadence. Food was bland and really nothing special for the price.

Great food and service. Make sure to try something with their homemade sausage...it's delicious!

A friend recommended to come here for brunch and I was excited to try it. We were seated right away. The decor is casual/rustic, although not cozy, with exposed brick wall and wood ceiling beams, but I noticed the host stand looked very decrepit. I browsed the menu online before arriving and decided to get the chicken salad sandwich, my friend ordered the French toast. While we waited for our food we sipped on our Riesling and nibbled on the sweet popcorn that was brought to the table. The French toast was yummy, but I was disappointed with my chicken salad sandwich. It was on the dry side with too much onion, and an overabundance of lettuce that got in the way. Wasn't crazy about the hard crust of their bread which I had to be careful biting into as not to scrape the roof of my mouth. Thank goodness the fries were good. The service was ok, although I didn't appreciate him reaching across my plate to take a dish without saying excuse me. Overall just an OK dining experience.

Chris Rzeznik

Very loud patrons made it hard to enjoy the meal - staff noted the volume but didn't do anything to address it. I got the sausage eggs Benedict. Food was okay at best, but I expected more.

Jonah Wunder

The brunch menu is delicious and is always served with a specially seasoned popcorn blend.

Kind of pricey for the food you get.

Initially We thought this was an attractive place but our experience overall was disappointing. Offered a small table right next to hostess stand when restaurant was completely empty. Coffee was warm and did not taste fresh (turned grayish when milk was added). Deviled egg appetizer came with no explication of flavors. Brioche French toast was tasty but bread slices were very tiny (we laughed when we first saw it) and egg dish was not very good. English muffin was not toasted, cheese sauce was sparse and lumpy, one of the two eggs were ruined and not tasty, and sausage taste was odd, made even more unfortunate in its inclusion as an ingredient in the dish. Service was fairly indifferent so overall I would probably not come back. We did appreciate the creativity of a Caesar salad made with kale and romaine, but it wasn't enough. Sorry.

Rachel Gentile

Very disappointing. Ricotta and bread board took over 30 minutes to come out. Followed very quickly by entrees before we were ready for them. Hanger steak was cold and poorly seasoned and shrimp and grits were swimming in sauce with huge raw chunks of Jalepenos. Server didn’t check on us at all and had to keep asking for refills on water. Will not be back.

Janelle Hoban

I've been here on many occasions, the food is consistently good. I always try the specials because they utilize seasonal ingredients. Service is good and the desserts are excellent, especially the black cherry cheesecake. They serve wine but it's also BYOB.

Brian De Vogel

The food here is amazing! Everything is fresh and delicious!

Great food and service. Went for an early brunch and had a great time.

Very cute pleasant Cafe !! Clean , modern design . Good food ! We will be back

Dan Turso

Great food

Roxann Blasz

Good food with lots of potential, but the server was definitely curt bordering rude, and seemed annoyed by the questions on food allergies. A big no-no in this town, and a shame considering it's one of the more interesting brunch menus in the area with clean solid decor. Will go again for another try, but hoping to to get a different waitress--that can really make or break a meal.

Food is ok never got my decaf coffe and service is slooowwwwwwwwwwe

Loving the food and menu every time I go to White Maple! Great staff who really know how to recommend food based on your preferences. Definitely try the Shrimp and Grits...and the Earl Grey creme brulee!!

We were there today for the first time and the experience was okay but not great. Ordered chicken sandwiches with gf bread. Gf bread was completely black (burnt) on both orders. Rest was delicious. Ambiance is nice but it would make a better impression if the staff didn't walk around with their phones in the pockets and if they didn't text when not busy. Especally the lady at the desk. Just not very professional. We'll definitely go back and give another chance, since we liked the interior, our waitress was very friendly and the food would have been good if the toast wasn't burnt.

Rarely do you walk into a place and say, “Wow! Did that really happen?” White Maple Café made me feel that way. First off, the staff was outstandingly friendly. That enhanced the ambience. But, the food blew our minds. Pictured are the Braised Short Rib Sliders. If they are on the menu (they’re a recent addition) when you come, then you must eat them. They are so tender and the flavors involved just lead to a simple, “Wow!” The second picture is the Spicy Seafood Red Curry. The seafood was perfectly cooked and the spiciness is evident, but not overpowering. Again, you just say, “Wow!” Not pictured because my wife and I couldn’t refrain from eating it fast enough was the Panko-crusted Sockeye Salmon. The Dijon mustard sauce amplifies this dish to a whole new level. We received a recommendation to visit White Maple Café and that recommendation was well-founded. You must try this place! You’ll say, “Wow! Did that really happen?” Food this good is no fantasy. It’s a stroke of culinary genius

We went on occasion if Ridgewood restaurant week. For dinner. The experience was discouraging as far as the food was concerned. My wife's chicken was shoe sole grade and the avocado in her cold soup unripe and rock hard. Without going into my orders, suffice it, the polenta under the tasteless ahrimps was out of this world. The waiter was nice and took good care of us. Will go back or try the nice and friendly place next door? Hmmmm

Jessica Panicucci

We really enjoyed the brunch that we had at the White Maple Cafe. We ordered the ricotta cheese board and it was delicious - the sour dough bread was so good and it was nice and fresh. We had the french toast and two eggs any style for brunch. It was enough food to fill us for the entire day. Prices may seem a bit high, but it is worth it!

Carolina Felix

This is one of my favorite place for lunch, love the way it looks inside and you can also have lunch outside the restaurant. The food is great and it taste delicious. I had the yellow tuna bowl along with a naked veggie burger and of course since the place is BYOB (they also serve their own wine), I brought my own bottle of wine. Is just perfect!

Thaddeus W Talty

After multiple meals...always excellent. Healthy fare with some interesting variety. I'm still working my way through the menu attempting to try everything at least once. All dishes I've tried...very pleased. Busy place, staff is attentive and hustles in a good way. Give White Maple Cafe a try.

I've been for breakfast, brunch, and dinner. Everything has been delicious. I love the ambiance and the feel of the restaurant. A cute, small local cafe.

Good food, smaller portions then I'd expected. Service was good but we were the only people there for lunch. Atmosphere is better then appears in the pictures and great music from my experience. Really good, not amazing.

Another Ridgewood top choice

Justin Colavita

I would 100% come back. Prices, food, design, service, all good. The coffee there was amazing as well. Believe it was called American Bulldog. We shared two dishes. A veggie open sandwich (forget the real name) with perfectly cooked vegetables with whipped ricotta cheese and pesto. The other dish was fish tacos with avocados. I liked the vegetable dish more but my dining partner enjoyed the fish more. But I think that is due to what we are first which ended up making the second dish not taste as great. For me, I had the veggies first so the fish dish didn't end up tasting so great. Also I'd rather have one less fish taco (they served 3) and have a salad with it instead. Kind of a boring meal if you just have a main course with no sides. We then had the lava cake which was good but just slightly too rich, but that's what lava cake is. I'm trying to think of why I didn't feel like it was 5 stars for me. Maybe the tables were just a little too small and the seats slight uncomfortable. If you haven't been you must go. It is definitely a place to check out for yourself.

The menu was delicious. The service was friendly, patient as we were slow deciding but fast in delivery. Everything came out hot. Not GF alternatives but enough on the menu that is naturally GF. Cross contamination likely. Small place but easily and comfortably sat a table if 6. The BYOB option is fantastic. I'm looking forward to returning.

I LOVE this place. theres so many restaurants in town and as a local to Ridgewood I've tired most of them and this is TOP 3 on my list. you could taste how fresh everything is. the Beef Burger is def. Best I've EVER had (soft and juicy) the whole menu is delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place.

I have been here a few times now. I’ve never been blown away by the food. Everything is good, but I’ve never had anything exceptional. Tonight was a downright bad experience. Our appetizer came (gochujang roasted cauliflower), and it was good. It needed some more salt, as if nobody tasted it before it headed out of the kitchen. Then we waited. And waited. Tables seated after us came and went, and still no sign of our main course. An hour passed by. The server apologized and eventually the dishes appeared. My burger was undercooked, possibly in a rush to get it out of the kitchen. Also, again it was lacking salt. A burger needs salt before you cook it. The tomato jam is oddly sweet against the lack of savoriness from the under seasoned burger. My wife got the veggie bowl, which contained woefully undercooked beans. They were actually crunchy and a bit dry. Finally, we moved on to dessert, which was actually very good. I had a chocolate rocky road pudding, which would have benefited from being taken out of the fridge for 30 minuets before it was served, but it was still quite good. My wife had the banana creme brûlée, which was also tasty. White Maple is a restaurant that tries to do everything right; source good ingredients, provide delicious, wholesome food, and have a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, it fails at the most basic and important of restaurant tasks, getting properly cooked food on the table in a timely manner. With so many great Ridgewood restaurants, why bother to return?

Went for Ridgewood restaurant week. Pros: 1. the service - though it was empty on a Sunday night for some reason - but service was decent. 2. BYO - we brought a bottle of wine in and they immediately began to chill it and brought us glasses 3. The Korean cauliflower appetizer was delicious Cons: 1. The shrimp and grits lacked seasoning, but was otherwise really good. More salt and pepper during the cooking process would have made it great Others: my girlfriend lives the decor and the vegetarian options. We will almost definitely be back
