I hosted my sister's bridal shower here in July 2015. The back garden is a beautiful space and perfect for a private event for about 30 people. The food is delicious-- amazing truffle fries, risotto, roasted chicken, and seafood pasta! The staff and the owner, Colm, are very accommodating and great to work with for event planning. The indoor space is also very pretty. The space overall has a shabby chic, rustic charm. Great for dates, dinners with girlfriends, or to take out of towners to show them a real local and quaint spot in the East Village.

Everything was absolutely amazing!! By far one of the best places i've eaten in the city. The escargot was perfect, and the roast chicken was delicious. You could tell a lot of time and care went into each dish. The atmosphere is adorable and romantic and the service was very attentive. The story of the place is adorable and adds to the whole experience. A must go!!!

A great little restaurant in the East Village for a night out with friends. We were there on Friday for exactly that reason and had excellent meals all around. I especially liked the cassoulet of duck, sausage and white beans. The wine selection was top notch as well. They also have a "secret garden" in the back that is great for events. When we arrived, there was a rehearsal dinner going on in the back.

Tree is the heart of what makes Manhattan great. Colm, Kathleen and the rest of the team will treat you like you’re at their home, more than a restaurant. The food is fantastic, decor is amazing, and great selection of wine and beer. Whenever I’m in NYC, this is my hidden gem I always make time to visit. You have to experience Tree for yourself.

The seafood pasta with saffron noodles is a unique and amazing dish. Not a cheap spot, but not insanely pricey either. In warmer months you can dine in their backyard, which is very quaintly decorated.

The seafood linguine is probably one of the best pastas I have ever had. They have a great outdoor, but covered garden in the back. They also take reservations which is a huge plus for the East Village.

This neighbohood gem caught our eye as my girlfriend and I were walking by and we immediately fell in love with its charm. The small indoor space is cozy and intimate, the lovely owners made us feel like we were guests in their home, and the food was incredible. The mussels, salmon and cookies and cream panna cotta were particularly mouth watering. They even added an extra oreo beignet so we didn't have to share one! We've been trying as many East Village restaurants as we can recently and Tree Bistro quickly turned into our favorite dinner experience yet. Can't recommend this gem highly enough.

Wonderful warm and exquisite local restaurant with a charming romantic backyard. So many gluten free options. The key lime pie with gluten free ginger crust is my favorite! A favorite among locals and a must if visiting the East Village.

I went here for a celebratory meal after getting a new job. Our meal was abysmal. Not a single dish was edible. We are forgiving people who almost never put up a fuss or walk out on a restaurant, but we ended up leaving and eating somewhere else.

Everything about this place screams excellence with a touch of rustic magic. Colm is a upbeat, humble owner who is never hesitant to acompany any of your needs. Overall the waitstaff was quick and keen on our desires. Five stars is an understatement for such a great restaurant this place has turned out to be. Overall good. Can't really complain about the food or wine, but I don't think they knocked it out of the park for their price point. And since it matters to some folks, it should be noted that it can get a bit loud. I sat outside in the garden in January (covered and heated). Not that it was bad, but I imagine the garden seating is especially pleasant in the warmer months.

It's a small restaurant with good ambiance. Price is not expensive and the service is very good. The bathroom is clean. They have a beautiful garden dining section at the back but the garden section is closed when we visited the restaurant today. We will definitely come back again.

I'm more of a Taco Bell guy so the deliciously-inventive food at Tree Bistro is wasted on my unrefined palette. However, it's always a slam dunk to bring friends and family from out of town here. During the warmer months, their outdoor garden patio area is like a hidden treasure in the East Village. Every time I've gone to Tree Bistro, it's been low key, not too busy and an incredible escape from my busy New York life.

I celebrated my 40th Birthday at Tree Bistro a few mts ago in June. 15 of us Travelled from Toronto to NYC for the wknd. Some only came for the Dinner which was Hosted here on a Saturday. I can't say enough good things about it. Food was AMAZING which was agreed upon by everyone !! I think we must have ordered some of everything off their menu. We were quite impressed with how every dish was so delicious. I was surprised at how inexpensive it was considering how fabulous the food is. The Waitress, Manager and all staff made our dining experience charming and easy breezy. It went off with out a hitch. We sat in the outdoor Patio located in the back. Couldn't have picked a better spot to have dinner and celebrate. They were very helpful and accommodating when I arranged the reservation via e-mail from Toronto. Thank you Tree Bistro for helping make my Milestone Birthday so memorable.

I recently held an event at Tree and was astounded by everything about the resturant. They made the night easy to plan, the food was amazing and the drinks they served were second to none. I would not suggest another restuarant in New York for anyone to try expect for Tree after the fantastic experience I have had. I visit New York frequently but this was my first time coming to Tree and cannot wait to get back to New York and be able to eat there once again. Colm and Kathleen made the night spectacular and everyone that attended my event, close to 20 people, was raving about the resturant the following day. Thank you two for everything!

The best place in New York. Food, Service and deco were great. I would 100% recommend the place for dinner or drinks. The tables on the garden were beautiful set, but there is no air con so keep that in head for the summer.
