This Restaurant belongs to the category of American restaurant.
They offer a large variety of delicious food. I love eating here. The employees are always super nice, pricing is affordable and the place is always kept clean.
I really like their food. I always get fantastic customer service here. The place is well kept and the workers are always welcoming. Would recommend to others.
The drinks are terrific. You can choose a house specialty, my favorite is the pluckie, or ask the bartenders to get creative. The food is savory and exceptional. Definitely great for sharing small plates with friends
the food is wonderful although pricey and the service is very attentive. altogether an enjoyable place for a romantic or business dinner.
Great food & service
Amazing food and drinks. The place has a rustic ambience with a monumental decor.
Great Easter Table d'hôte, awesome evening!
Awesome food, great service. Average price for what it is
Great place. Only semi small improve I would say would be to write the menu better. It was hard to follow.
Great higher end dining.
Good food, great wait staff! We will be back
The menu is outstanding. The confit chicken wings are really tender and delicious and the burger is great with each of the 3 cheese provided (I've tried all 3!). The drink menu is fun. Go try the pub food and see if you like it. Dinner is great as well.
The Plucky is a local landmark and has a great atmosphere for meeting friends. Menu is really impressive! Best wine selection around and the food is on another level. Cauliflower steak with Brussel sprouts side is awesome. For dessert, I like an excellent double espresso and the assorted cookies. My wife loves the gourmet American coffee made from fresh ground beans! We like to sit in the bar area if available and when the patio is open, we'll wait at the bar for a table to open up out there. Whether it's in the dining room, bar area or patio service remains excellent!
Very happy with the food here. Surprised to see that the ratings arent higher.
Good food, but long wait
Excellent food and service. Beautiful facilities. Highly recommended.
Five of us went to celebrate. We loved the place in previous years visits but unfortunately, it has gone down...a lot. And to top it off two people became ill from the food. They both became a bit queazy by the end of the dinner. And the stomach distress became progressively worse and they were ill throughout the night. So, based on this I would not recommend this nor would we return there.
Absolutely the best!
Always love the Plukemin Inn. Tonight lack of detail on bartenders part, left bad taste. when ordering a $15 Manhattan it should be made correctly not on the fly.
We love this place. We don’t get there often, and enjoy sitting in the bar area. Luis the waiter is the most attentive waiter. He always remembers I like extra ice. I don’t ask it just appears. Great food. Great drinks. Great place
Service was excellent.
I love sitting in the bar for a cocktail and a plate of their delicious meatballs from the bar menu! The service is always accommodating and attentive, but without being overbearing. The smaller portions are great for sharing and allow you try a few different dishes without being stuffed. Great for celebrations, date nights, or just a quiet Wednesday :-)
Great wine selection, great food, lovely ambience
I enjoy eating in the bar area, you can choose from a bar menu and the restaurant. Perfect winter setting with a roaring fire. Outdoor patio in nice weather. Food selections change throughout the year but are always similar...not a bad thing for an upscale neighborhood restaurant. Wine selection is excellent, I often buy cases directly from their shop. Never disappointed.
After experiencing over a decade of fine dining at this establishment, I can say that this restaurant has fallen from a great height.
Good spirits selection
Food and wine selection is absolutely fantastic! Bar tender, so so. Other patrons at bar were a little precocious. The waiter in the bar area was wonderful. I will return to the fab food and cozy bar
No happy hour menu. Fine selection of wines.
Always a treat with great food and great wine selection... even an acceptable by the glass list. A little on the pricey side.
Great service. The staff are amazing and friendly
Went to Pluckemin to celebrate birthday and we all enjoyed our festive meals. Each course had distinct flavors and the service was professional and it was easy to converse. A good choice to visit for that special occasion.
Lunch at an upscale restaurant. Unbelievably creative menu with added taste. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere with a full bar.
Always great food the best service
Great food
Great food, huge wine list, terriffic beers on tap. Pricey.
Good service and good food. Staff was very attentive. Also, food came out fast. Overall a good experience.
Food, wine list, service, and ambiance were all excellent.
This place is one of the best for a 3 course meal
We made plans to dine at the Pluckemin Inn a month early and talked about our excitement to finally eat at this famous restaurant. We were greeted timely and courteously, and seated promptly upstairs. We were there for an early dinner as we have an elderly parent with us - surprised us that we were not asked when making the reservation, or upon arrival if the stairs would be a problem. The service was mediocre - the waiter did not use seating assignments and our dishes came to the wrong people - every course. The wine was delivered 'after the appetizers' and the entrees arrived before the appetizers were complete. The bread was fantastic. The meals small. The ambiance was nice but why have pilot lights in fireplaces next to tables that can't be lit on a cold night? Overall - food was overpriced, service mediocre. We will not return.
We went back on the 31 of August and found the food improved considerably. The service was exceptionable. All around we had a great evening.I guess last time was an aberation.
Food was fantastic as was the ambience. Salmon and risotto I highly recommend
I really liked their food and customer service, good location nearby to my residence. The workers are always kind. Will come visit again.
Outstanding food quality, wine list and service.
Fantastic restaurant, def need a reservation though
We ate here last night and had a really bad experience. We made reservations which apparently never got entered since they didn’t have one under our name. We were able to get a seat in the bar but had the most aggressive waiter we’ve all ever experienced. He was good with filling waters and tending to us, but was not nice at all. One example: I ordered a drink that I thought was some sort of margarita but instead got a spicy liquid smoke drink. I didn’t get warning about this when I ordered it. When I asked about it, he said “did you read the description” and I said I did but I didn’t realize that it was going to be liquid smoke tasting. It listed the name brands of stuff I thought was tequila. My mistake. He responded with “well you didn’t read it then, you should.” Later that night after aggressively taking our orders he elbowed my mom in the back of the head tending to the table behind her. He apologized and said “but you leaned back in your seat”. (My mom was actually leaning forward listening to me talk since it was loud) It was so uncomfortable that we ended our night early. I hope that other people don’t have to experience the same thing we did.
Had dinner there this evening for my sisters birthday! Food was excellent . Service was excellent. Just all around a great first dine in experience !
I had a great steak here paired with a good local ale. The steak was well seasoned and service at the bar was friendly and prompt. The plate I had did not really have specific sides but was served on a bed of veggies (asparagus potato and onions).
Was a good night out and I'm very happy with everything we had , we did the tasting with wine
Amazing drinks and location. Wonderful service.
Wonderful food nice atmosphere and friendly staff
Best burgers around
Love this place - makes me miss the city less :-)
Came here for happy hour one time. Staff was pretty rude. One of those places where they felt they were doing us a favor by taking our money. One in our party was seated next to the door because there were no other seats. While I agree this is probably not good in case of a fire, the waiter literally yelled at him to move. We got a few appetizers, which were decent. Will not be returning. For my money I prefer Delicious Heights down the street, better beer selection, much more seating, and MUCH friendlier staff. Only giving it 2 stars because I've had worse experiences, not for something good they did.
The food here is amazing! My husband and I decided to try it for our anniversary and it was the perfect ambiance. The service is exceptional (I didn't need to ask for drink refills, which is a pet peeve of mine). This will definitely be our anniversary spot from now on.
Wonderful diamond in the rough. Great wine and terrific food.
Always fabulous!
Plucky Wines, consistently offers an excellent and interesting collection at good prices
If you are bringing a group or hosting business meal, CHOOSE ELSEWHERE, unless you’d like to be embarrassed in front of your friends, family, or clients. We were there for an end-of-year office lunch. We arrived a little after 11:30 am, and the dining room was empty. We had a reservation for 9, and a colleague from out of town was joining us, so we ended up with a group of 10. The hostess seating us said, “It is IMPOSSIBLE to seat 10. I don’t have another table. I don’t even have an extra chair for you.” And left us standing at the lobby staring at each other. The server parroted the same thing, so did the manager. We discussed where else we should go, considered asking the extra person not to come, or have one of us eat standing up. Finally, the restaurant decided they can spare a nearby table for 2. It feels like an eternity, and I certainly lost my appetite. We talked about never to come back on our own, and we will definitely share with our company to never book a business meal here in the future. The food was sub-par for an upscale restaurant: the shrimps were overcooked in the Gulf Shrimp appetizer; the Ahi tuna main course was overcooked because of the too elaborate seaweed and panko coating – should have kept it simple and used a torch; they used the wrong type of bacon for the bacon donut – should have used a sweeter bacon, and mixed the cooked bacon in the dough to soften the texture. The food is not good enough to worth the insults. After all, if Pluckemin Inn is so very popular, it doesn't need more customers anymore.
Fantastic tasty food. Friendly service.
Best steak I ever had
Great atmosphere, I truly enjoyed my wine, food was well presented and flavorful though portions were small and was served cooler then expected. I need to eat here again to properly judge.
Expensive, but great food and endless wine list
Good beer and food. I have only eaten in the bar area, restaurant is probably too nice for me:)
Enjoy this spot for cocktails and a bite out. Prefer to sit in the tavern side than the restaurant (as you can also get the restaurant menu in the tavern). Always enjoy.
This place serves delicious food. I especially loved the chocolate souffle tort!
Great ambience, service and food!
Amazing meal service was exceptional highly recommended 10 stars.
Went for dinner last Friday night. Live 10 minutes away and had heard great things about the Inn. All hype. Great greeting at the door, no room at the bar at 7PM, went upstairs to the dinning room there. Did not look as nice as the downstairs room. Very empty-exceedingly poor service. Had to pour my own $125 bottles of wine. Dinner was an appetizer of one scallop cut into 25 pieces-the size of my pinkey fingernail with a sprig of herb on each
Was there for a baby shower of 40 people and the wait staff and food was fantastic.
Take it from a wine lover, this place has, without question, the best wine list in New Jersey and certainly ranks very high nationally and more specifically in the NYC area. This should be reason enough to go, but in addition to the professional service, the menu is always fun, inventive and changing. Despite all these high end accoutrements, the place has a relaxed vibe. Great place for date night or special occasion but you can really hit it anytime and it will not disappoint.
Great place to grab dinner or drinks at the bar. Very accommodating.
Good place for business lunch
TL;DR: Great food and ambiance, try the bar menu Service and food were both excellent. We dined on a busy weekend night and there was no wait for a table by the bar. We ordered off the bar menu. Shared a meatball appetizer, which was flavorful and a great way to start a meal. I had the fish and chips (best I've had in NJ) and my wife had the chicken (comparable to other fine restaurants). The martinis were perfect with generous pours.
Nice ambience and good food
Fine food...fine service...classy Ambience...what does one need more
Usually eat at the bar but the restaurant is good too. Classy, good wine library, little pricey.
Clean store, sanitary and the food was so savory. Please try this place out. You know there are many restaurants like these. This has now become my favorite one in this category
Lovely quiet atmosphere with fireplace.
Very disappointing . Living on old reputation. Lobster salad was missing the lobster. Soup was served lukewarm. Too few servers, no management around.
Great time
Eh, decent food, service was not worth the price of admission. I know it was a busy day, but that shouldn't make a waiter so blunt that the rest of the experience was tainted. Food was slightly salty, but prepared to order and otherwise tasty.
The most professional staff around. Comparable to 90 acres
Really wonderful
Great food and atmosphere, always feel welcome.
Very nice place
Terrific food, nice cozy place, Grilled Chicken sandwich was delicious..
Amazing experience! Food, atmosphere, staff - all stellar!! Can't wait to come back again!
Really nice place if you're looking for a little more fancy of a dinner. Right off a highway which isn't the greatest but it has a very cozy feel. Food is tasty and the menu has enough options for everyone. They give you a little amuse-bouche and even brownies (not the best, but FREE). Parking lot right on site.
Great atmosphere, staff, and food. Great pub for apres golf
Delicious, excellent food!
Wine tasting menu @Spain, great experience!!
Never disappoints. Awesome food and service.
Everything was excellent. Strip steak, shrimp appetizer, and the phyllo dough Apple cobbler. Great service.
Great service great food great experience five Star all The way
Great place High end
Service poor, pastrami special fatty and chewy, over priced as well.
Very upscale, fancy pants. Great food and service as well, fairly pricey. Extensive wine list.
Fabulous! Food to die for and an ambiance to match. Only two complaints: Their signage needs an upgrade (we passed it twice the first time we went there.) and they closed too early. We couldn't get a reservation until 9pm and the kitchen closed at 10. Despite our servers best intent we make sure we didn't feel rushed... it couldn't be helped. Even the bar closed before we were finished eating, on a Saturday! However, the food was amazing, I LOVE that they allow smaller portions for those of us who love entrees but don't eat a lot. And our server was fantastic, even allowed us to sit and have a after dinner drink at the table even though we were obviously that last in the restaurant. It went a long way with us (it was our anniversary even though the server didn't know it!) Thank you!
Food taste and looks like it's been freshly prepared when you order. Nothing looks packaged. Everything was absolutely delicious. Definitely will recommend everyone I know to come visit. With a warning lable attached cause it's not a cheap place to visit. Your definitely paying for great food and a nice environment. Wine selection is massive. They have a wine for everyone.
Nice restaurant!
Really good burgers and caters to a wealthy crowd. Good local spot to impress someone and grab nice cocktails.
Amazing food. Enormous selection of wines. Perfect atmosphere for a nice dinner. Not a cheap date restaurant. You want an excellent meal? This is a place you should definitely check out. The lunch menu is also amazing! The young talent they have in the kitchen are always coming up with something delicious. Call ahead as it tends to be popular no matter the day or time.
excellent food pricey
Lovely atmosphere, great service and delicious food. A bit out of the way but worth the trip.
This place is as good as it gets for me. Always a great meal and the service is always nice as well.
Great food and lovely experience.
Excellent.
Pluck your brains and go right in. Something for everyone.
Excellent wine list. Lovely setting and great food
One of my favourite places to eat in CNJ. Highly recommended.
All great except the waiter having an attitude
The Pluckemin Inn used to be one of my wife and my favorite restaurants. We've been going for 10 years and each and every visit was as spectacular as the time before. Sadly, this is simply no longer the case. When we started going years ago, David Felton was Executive Chef. Food was excellent, presentation was excellent, wine pairings were always spot on. We loved this place. David left in 2009 to become Executive Chef at Natirar and we were sceptical that food quality would remain so high. We were pleasantly surprised upon our next visit as the new Executive Chef, Juan Jose Cuevas, not only kept things to perfection, we think the food was more adventurous and even better. Juan Jose did an excellent job! But earlier this summer we had dinner at "The Plucky" again and both my wife and I noted it just wasn't it's usual stellar quality. We also noted that many of the wine pairings were the same as our previous visit though the tasting menu had changed to more summer traditional fare. The next day, I looked online and noted that Juan Jose Cuevas was no longer Executive Chef having been replaced by Andrew Lattanzio. This past Friday night, good friends of ours took us to celebrate my birthday at The Pluckemin Inn as they knew it was one of our favorites. We were greeted quickly, table for our reservation was ready on time, and we were seated upstairs. Having looked at the tasting menu online earlier in the day, we already knew that all four of us would be partaking along with the wine pairings. I could go into each course of the meal and tell you why it was not the perfection we had become accustomed to. I could tell you why we felt the service was only 'good' as opposed to the higher ratings we'd always offered in the past. I could tell you that three of the five paired wines were the same ones we had tasted now three meals in a row. But instead I'll just say, the mediocre meal earlier this summer was not a fluke as this meal and overall dinning experience was just 'good'. It was not The Pluckemin Inn experience we had enjoyed for so many meals and years before. And while we don't mind paying what fine dining demands these days, we do mind paying those prices for the lesser quality food and service that sadly now seems to be what the Pluckemin Inn is offering.
Go to Date night location for consistent, impeccable service and creative, delicious dishes. Impressive winelist and curated seasonal menu.
WEEKDAY LUNCH REVIEW This review does not apply to brunch or dinner. Strictly lunch on a weekday. I was excited to go here when I saw it was recently named one of the top 50 restaurants in New Jersey. We had a business lunch here on a Thursday. You could see their extensive wine collection and the interior was gorgeous. That said we arrived with a reservation and were sat immediately in the dining room. There were probably less than a dozen people there at the same time as us. The service we received at the table was excellent and top notch. The bad marks here arrive at the ridiculous waiting times. Our food took at least 45 minutes to arrive after ordering, if not longer. Here’s what we ordered: 2 eggplant parm sandwiches (1 with fries, 1 with side salad), grilled chicken sandwich with side salad, salad with grilled chicken. It was all decent, no complaints about the quality of the [simple] things we ordered. Why this order took so long is beyond me. Again the wait staff was attentive and great but this wait, for a restaurant so highly regarded, for a simple order, for an expensive lunch just didn’t add up. I hope to go here for dinner one time to see how it compares but color me unimpressed, and unlikely to trek back out in the evening. Lastly, had the food arrived in a timely manner this review would be 4/5.
High quality dining in a warm and comfortable environment and looked after by well trained staff. This is an expensive option but the price reflects the quality. A cosy bar also awaits for pre-dinner / post-dinner cocktails.
I really love their dishes. I always get fantastic service here. The place is well organised and the staff members are always friendly. Will come back again.
Everything about The Pluckemin Inn is great. Very good food and service. Ambiance is modern rustic, calm, upscale and not stuffy at all. The grounds are beautiful and the place is very accomodating with reservation changes. Closed on Sunday which is the only negative feedback that I have.
Would definitely recommend trying this place. Excellent character, flavorful dishes, excellent service. 5 stars
Quick bite in the tavern. Shared a salad and fish and chips, for $35 it was plenty for two. Salad was excellent with big cashews. Chips were lackluster. Atmosphere, perfect!
Love sitting in the bar with a glass of red and a burger.
Always a great meal. Seasonal foods available. Atmosphere great.
Expensive and fancy. But very good.
Great food, wine, and staff...drinks at the bar are fun too.
Great food....average service
Amazing food, fantastic service
A nice restaurant that is excellent for business lunches. The menu has a good number of choices to choose from. Most importantly the food is good.
The food was absolutely delicious.
Great food, excellent service. Bit pricey though.
Had the Red Snapper and it was not fully cooked. Atmosphere was ok not as nice as "90-Acres"
Beautiful facility and excellent food. The staff was gracious and very helpful. Highly recommended.
We went there few weeks ago and actually Sat in bar as restaurant wasn’t opened yet so this review in food based in bar.. We ordered Fish with chips/ fries & Yellow fin Tuna Tartar.. My beer battered cod was good & fries were Average.. I loved the presentation of Tuna & it was very good.. service was nice & overall good.. choices are limited as its bar menu but I can’t wait to try restaurant food!!!
Awesome drinks, food and atmosphere
Excellent service, great food, mind-boggling wine list - love this place -I've been a patron for years and has never disappointed.
We went for lunch and it was just ok. The severe was just ok. This is not our first time there and it has b een better,
Food quality was very good. Good wine selection as well
The food was amazing and the service superb!
The most incredible food, the most welcoming and thoughtful staff!
Wonderful meal attentive service in an attractive dining room. Whether for romantic date or business meal, this is the go to spot in Bedminster.
Fantastic food! Great service. Lively. Can't wait to go again!
High quality staff and food!
Another fantastic New Year's Eve ate Pluckemin Inn...
Very cozy place and good food
Stopped for lunch before a business meeting. We both had burgers, which were quite good, except one was supposed to come with salad and they forgot and brought fries. Still, overall a good meal, with attentive service.
Expensive, delicious food, excellent service, cozy, intimate setting. Perfect for that special occasion! The place was an old mansion so the beauty in it are the small rooms where you can actually hear the person across the table from you. Our only criticism is that the menu is somewhat limited but you can see what they are currently serving online. The homemade breads are scrumptious! As are the homemade desserts. Pricey but worth it. Wine selections unlimited.
Service is not great but the food is excellent
Plenty of parking,, great food
Great service, really nice atmosphere.
Business lunch. Quick, tasty, good service.
Great Bar. Awesome Burgers.
Warm, convivial bar. Excellent fresh seafood. Big and small plates. Perfect cocktail. Dinner with a longtime dear friend.
Just wow. Between the impeccable service and unreal food, this place is a great part of the NJ food scene.
Quiet conversation can happen here with the added attraction of an above average wine list and scrumptious food.
Great service and food. I expected a larger menu.
Food and atmosphere are excellent, if not a little overpriced
Excellent food and service. Beautiful facilities. Highly recommended.
Service well-intentioned but a bit amateurish. Wonderful bread given by the piece, if only they had ever come back and offered us more... Beware Sundays- apparently, the menu is vastly curtailed then. A few interesting things to chose from, but overall, if you are not a fish person and it is Sunday. you have a very limited choice. That being said, very tasty appetizers and main course, desserts less impressive. And yes,, great wine list!
This is an exceptional restaurant. The food service and ambience are excellent. This restaurant typifies you get what you pay for.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
