I am afraid to say that, their service is terrible. You might get some annoying situations every time. the servers are really getting mad easily and ignoring your request. Very bad. Food is just okay but not good, I don't think the price is equivalent. Highly not recommended because it ruined my night.

Laura Anne Hughes

The best Korean food in the city! This place is always packed. Always serve more than you can eat, so come with an empty stomach and big appetite. I have been here multiple times and everything I've tried has been delicious. Reasonably priced especially considering how much you get. Come with a group because you will get seated faster.

Evan Coleman

Fairly priced, excellent authentic korean dishes, and fast service.

Kunjip was once a pleasant experience but our last visit this weekend was consistently awful. I was trying to make up my mind as to the pork or beef Bibimbap. I know some restaurants use minced rather than sliced meat but when I wanted to double check, the waitress responded 'I told you that already' and then ROLLED HER EYES IMPATIENTLY as I tried to make up my mind. When Bibimbap came, it was a collection of MOSTLY RICE (NOT crispy, just white rice), with a tiny bit of steamed watercress, chopped carrots and meat (barely recognizable as 'sliced') - absolutely no flavor. Eventually, someone dropped a plastic squeeze bottle of red sauce on the table ('flavor'). As I was packing my leftovers, I was admonished to not take my banchan (there were a few strips of squid left). I asked my BF to PLEASE NOT TO OVERTIP - the entire experience was an insult and not pleasant. NASTY ATTITTUDE from Korean woman with rhinestone headband - NEVER AGAIN!

Alok Z

The experience Kunjip is so bad. The food there is just ok but the price is high and u have to pay for the 15% tips. If u don’t pay that tips, the waiter will come out and ask money from u, it’s so ridiculous

Steve Lim

The lunch special was okay but the tall guy who seems to be the manager of the restaurant is mistreating other employees..and that makes me not want to come back to the restaurant.

Naomi

I come here for their breakfast - in my opinion this is the best spot for a Korean style breakfast in the morning. Very good prices, good quality for the price and top service. However for lunch and dinner options I'd probably go elsewhere on 32nd. For breakfast, this is the best value in the area. A stew with full side dishes, eggs and rice is around $10.00 with tax.

If you like HAIR in your food and EXTREMELY RUDE SERVICE, this is the place for you! First of all, there is a very short, skinny, old man server on the 2nd floor. He is the most belligerent, insulting, impolite server my family and I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. We ordered the bibimbap and for one of the dishes, there were like only 4 pieces of bean sprouts in there. There should normally be way more bean sprouts in bibimbap. When we asked him for more, he said this was not his responsibility, it was the kitchen’s and he said he could not do anything about it! We tried to explain and ask nicely if he can ask the cook but he started screaming at us and said he would not do it. He ended up bringing the bean sprouts. If he was going to bring them to us ANYWAY, why all the fuss in the first place? He seems to forget what his job is. It is to serve and please the customers, not scream at them and argue over some measly bean sprouts. How difficult is it to just bring more bean sprouts? His nastiness was uncalled for. Even cooks make mistakes (like I am going to explain regarding another incident below) so what harm is there in at least asking them for a bit more ingredient when there was not enough to begin with? We were so upset that we could not eat so we decided to take everything to-go. Much to our dismay and to make things even worse, we found someone’s HAIR inside the bibimbap! Complete nasty. Only unprofessional, unclean establishments have hair in the food. Very unsanitary! We wonder what other nastiness is hiding in the food. The owner of this restaurant should take responsibility for running this place amok. The owner does not seem to do anything if servers are rude to customers, based on our experience and reading the other Yelp feedback. The owner needs to TRAIN the servers on providing basic customer service. This is not our first time encountering a rude server at this place. She needs to reorient this place to placing customers first and serving clean food with bigger portions.

The Kunjip is my go-to Korean restaurant. I can order anything there and expect a good meal. The banchan side dishes are delicious too. I go there when I crave budae jjigae.

Ask Imee

We’ve been to a few Korean place in Ktown area and this place is okay. The condiments are not as good as other restaurants in the area. Place is spacious and the servers were attentive.

Satoko Oka Norimatsu

The side dishes were many and delicious! We had seafood hot pot. Chewy octopus!

Jubilee World

First time I visited this place. This is outstanding Korean Restaurant. Especially Gajatang is really delicious !!!! And service was really good too. I will try again next time for sure !!!!

Andrew Sharp

We love this place! The bibimbap was great and we enjoyed the fried dumplings too

Ezequiel Jordan

I go with my wife to this place quite a bit! This is the best place to have a bite. I visit this place regularly. The food is fantastic, the staff members are helpful and the cost is reasonable. I like eating in this place over a good meal.

Duong Nguyen

Terrible attitude! Even found hair in my food

Min Jin

This is so nice place you can eat traditional Korean food . I like every entry from this restaurant especially bibimbab , gamzatang and spicy octopus. They also has high quality BBQ meat and also you can enjoy several kind of meat in BBQ combo section. This is the best Korean restaurant in my mind ^^

Kimberley Ngan

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! or I should say the service just didn’t exist!! The one who guide me to the table suddenly grabbed the menu from me without saying anything while I was standing there waiting for table, holding the menu, checking out what to eat lollll They just slammed the food down on my table and went away with no service at all!!! I was shocked by how this restaurant treat their customers!! Many better places just don’t waste your money here!! I have no choice to give 0 star but one star for this place...

MD062010

Thus far my favorite place in K-town- I’m giving it 5 stars- as they’re consistent- good service, clean restaurant, love their banchan- especially the steamed egg! However- if I could give 4.5 stars I probably would- not the best Korean food I’ve ever had- but good enough if you looking a good selection of your favorite Korean dishes.

Justin McCarthy

Stopped in for lunch and it was incredible. The fish is outstanding. So it the seafood soup. I can’t wait to come back at night for bbq. Highly recommend

Hannah

Tip: they accept only cash for an order below $20. The food was not bad. I would give four stars for food, but two stars out because of bad service.

Junte Lu

The waiter spilled the chili oil onto my jeans and shoes before we even start the dinner. Then he spilled the Sprite all over to my aunt’s coat after we finished. The waiter just had a bad attitude when I talk to the manager about the whole thing and trying to quibble as if I can't understand Korean (but infact, I can). Very disappointed and mad with all this experience. BTW, that part of oil is till on my shoes and jeans after I cleaned it many times for almost a year now.

pure living

About a year ago, I went there with my friend to have breakfast. We went there pretty regularly so we knew they always had special breakfast menu. We ordered our usual dishes and a waiter took our order. The tall guy who is like manager or something yelled at him in front of us “Don’t you remember we don’t have breakfast menu any more!?” (I remember the waiters made faces when we ordered breakfast. They didn’t even try to hide it. And they lied to us that breakfast time is over even though we were there early.) That was it. I heard a lot of nasty things about this place, but didn’t care much before. But it was really time to stop going. They do business like Korean immigrants in 70’s. There were only 2 good dishes anyway.

Jon Tirpak

I come to Kunjip often, as I work around the block and often need a bite before heading home. Most often, I stop by after 11PM, so my observations are limited to that timeframe. I almost always get an appetizer, either the small order of spiced tofu or the small order of steamed dumplings. The staff brings out excellent kimchee (generally 6 small plates) before my order hits. Those are always a lovely accompaniment to whatever I order. Although I generally dine by myself, oftentimes the staff will waver on the rule that only >2 guests get bbq. So in those moments, I am allowed to cook and serve myself as I please. If not, I can always rely on the bibimbop dishes to sate my hunger. Staff is always attentive, water is always filled. I haven't tried any of the noodle dishes, so can't comment there. All in all, tho, a fun time at Kunjip. They also have $14 Chamis-sul, which I love.

Kendra Cotten

Ate here with my husband and 10 yr old daughter for a late night dinner. Food was great.. Service was good. Fast service. Would recommend..

Avery Ko

Had a dinner lately. Decent quality and service. One noticeable thing is TOO hectic. If you want a meal with a decent level of conversation then look for other joint....

jenny nieves

First time having Korean Food and i fell in love with it! I'm still trying to learn the names of what i actually eat

Jenny C

Pretty good lunch special. The portion sizes are pretty generous for lunch!

DH S

Kunjip is my favorite korean restaurant in NYC! It has awesome bibimbap, bulgoki (which they cook it in a very authentic and delicious way), and seollungtang (bone soup). Also, their tteokboki is very good as well.

Joe Nimrichter

This place is authentic!!! I felt like I was back in Korea. I had the Bibimbop with spicy tofu soup...so delicious! Can’t wait to go back for more.

Xfittraining NYC

Best Korean food in NYC and the service is great would recommend this place to anyone

櫻井亜弥

It's first time to come here. Food was amazing.especially BBQ is literally delicious. And their service is perfect as food. I recommend this restaurant if you want to eat delicious Korean food,.

추승훈

The server was so rude. Never go there again.

Joanne Junga Kim

If you're craving korean food, this is the place to go in Ktown! I would recommend Haemul Pajun (seafood pancake) and Budaejjigae. They also have a good list of liquor, I would recommend Aladdin sake :)

Yunnie Park

The best Korean restaurant in NYC. If you want to experience authentic korean food, this is the place to go!

Yun Ha Seo

The food was okay and they give lots of side dishes. However, I was able to understand the conversation between who seemed like the manager and the other staff. He was very condescending and rude to his staff which was a turn off. Also, the waitress looked mad/upset the entire night which did not help. They also took our tip money even before we got up the table, which I feel like is a way to make you feel like you should leave faster.

Youn Jung Chung

My go-to affordable Korean restaurant in ktown. Quick fast service

Davide Capobianco

Best restaurant ever in Korea town. We had a Korean Barbecue and the meat was so tender. The place is also the most clean in town, and the people who work there are so so kind. Looking forward to go back again.

Moody Chan

Yum!!! Great friendly service

Rebecca j

Worst service. Waitress will chase you down for more tips even when she really doesn't deserve. Don't go, there are much better places out there

deepjyoti malla

I love the varieties of food with excellent cooking skills and most importantly the service is excellent. It also offers healthy veg dishes for vegetarians. They welcomed me humbly as if they knew me from long time. I will definitely go again and love to recommend others. It's the best resturant in Korea Town...

Julia Sun

The pig bone stew was delicious and the sides were plentiful. The staff was also really kind and gave me a seat and warm tea while I was waiting for my friend to arrive.

Matthew Banks

You should never visit The Kunjip unless you’re alone. They give the same proportion of free appetizers no matter how many people tag along. They accidentally gave me an extra egg dish which they took later and gave it to another customer. Where’s the sanitation? I was disgusted by their sanitation therefore I decided to not give a tip. Instead, the fifteen percent tip was enforced upon me. I decided to tip because I didn’t want to argue. But realistically, would you pay a fifteen percent tip for terrible sanitation and service? Therefore, I would not suggest The Kunjip to anyone and would never visit it again.

Shilpa B K

The service and food were excellent. I was quite hesitant to go to a Korean restaurant alone since the food is family style. I was suprised by the quick, non invasive setup .The hostess was so welcoming, she made a point to have a conversation with everyone including non Korean guests and they make eveyone feel at home.

Delong Xiao

Don’t go this place because their service is extremely extremely rude. I’ve seen many guests walk out without tipping as result their waiters keeping quitting. Once i had lunch, the Korean waitress served a Korean guy who were waiting behind me as priority. When the Korean guys dishes were all put on his table, then she started order my dish. They serve Koreans as priority. It’s the fact. More dramatically, your side dishes size and varieties are given based on amount of money you spend per meal. They normally serve Korean clients fishes and stream egg dish etc.. They also like keep pushing their clients to finish fast and to eat fast, so at the middle of lunch, the staff will drop a check on your table! It means you need to leave !!!!! ASAP!!!! Do not go if you are not local Korean person!

Vienna Novia Lurizha A

It tastes good but super crowded. Lot of people coming and sometimes the manager even dont comprehend the waiting list.

gigi grandpa

Great food served with horrible attitude. Everything was perfect until the Korean waiter with tattooed arm came. He acted like we killed his wife or something. We were just people looking for food, he did not need to hate us that much! Thanks for your reply. The soup I had was awesome!! All waitresses were really beyond nice, made it up. Will come back though.

Olivia Tonge

The food is plentiful and delicious. As other reviews have said, when crowded, they'll try to get you out as soon as as possible so they can seat other customers. We were almost finished eating and they brought out their delicious tea and the check. Unless you're there during a slow time of day, expect to feel rushed out.

Jung Park

Best korean restaurant in nyc. Their food is very authentic. Lunch special price is very reasonable in the city. Korean BBQ is also very good. When you are planning to visit NYC it is must visit place when you are craved for korean food

Andrew Abra

I like the way the place looks, but I DoD not care for the waiter service. I asked him what the sides were the my dish and he points to another table. I asked again and he does the same thing. I should not have to go stare at someone else's table. The food was average.

Emilia Maj

That was the worst food I have ever eaten in my life. Whatever is beef, rice, vegetables or egg tastes the same, like nothing. Because I was tourist that day, very hungry and in rush, I ate that but felt it in my stomach for next 2 days. I love Korean food but this didn’t remain me of any taste. The restaurant was packed when I enter there and though it’s a good sign...really can’t understand people who seemed to be very familiar with the place. You better stay away from it...!

Lidia T. Pines

Really good food and very accessible prices. They gave us delicious tapas like starters on the house!

Kian Fowler

Certainly a spot worth stopping by, the food is fantastic and fresh, the cost is fair and it is always well kept in here. Fantastic work.

black Joh

It is so good to eat Korean soul food here taste one by one and recommend Kimchi stew.

April Wheeler

Love this place. Good quality meat and their AYCE soup and ready to eat appetizers are tasty. Service is fast and you can pretty much ask any server running around for anything. Plenty of parking. I try to always come before dinner or after lunch to avoid the longer wait times.

K K

Great food with a very authentic feel. Bright back strong memories from my bike in korea. The pajean was delicious, as well as the galbi and makoli!

Ken Sangpil Yoon

Good food. Bad service.

Bruno Mithout

The food is decent yet overpriced for the quality, the service is mediocre , we were asked to change table and go downstairs without offer of compensation, like drink or an appetizer, it feels a bit like a food factory!

Audrey Wong

Fast and quick service. Food was great.

haris chusmania

Food was Good ...the manager on second Floor was Shitt...and Rude , we call couse we gonna order Wine and sake ..he just ignore Us...

Sissy Ichinohe

One of my favorite Korean restaurants in k town, when I eat by my self. I go here for lunch because I like their quick service. They come to ask your order quickly, serve quickly. Then always the same quality. And you will get complementary small appetizers as well as other Korean places. Some people working here might not as friendly as you expect, but I like their quick service especially for lunch time which I don’t have so much time either.

Nikolaos Kallikakis

Food ok, not the tastiest Korean I've had, the worst part was that the food gave us undesirable stomach aches for the next hours

ISAAC HWANG

Just don't go there. The food is not fresh at all.. bad taste!! Very expensive No taste

Seong Won Han

Nice little spot for Korean food opposite Caffe Bene and Tous les Jours, and close to Penn Station. Seating also upstairs and you may have to stand in line on the staircase when it gets really busy. Lunch menu is reasonable with a good selection to choose from. Food is pretty good - not too salty and not too spicy.

Moleins Jean-Louis

The food was great, the wait was short and the atmosphere was very relaxed.

심규원

Delicious egg stew, kind waitress. Good Korean style soup and Jjigae.

Ada Yu

Great food and service and great staff by wanjeon unnie

Brenda Cardenas

It was so warm! The special service made my night. I never tried korean food before, and after this experience I will come back as soon as possible. Thank uuuuu

Jay Wong

Food is ok but the service is very poor. The korean old lady waiter is rude and bad service. They also try to do more business and rush us out around 1 hr because they were starting to have more customer come in. Will not go again for sure.

Katlyn Xiong

The food was good however, the customer service sucked because they made us move tables a lot, and forced us to do the minimum tip of 18% when I felt that they did not deserve it due to the lack customer service provided (they will chase you down for the tip as well if it was not the minimum). The customer service also sucked because they did not refill our waters at least once until we practically finished all our food (at that point having our waters refilled was pointless), they didn’t even ask us about needing anything else (such as needing more lettuce to make the lettuce wraps), and they sat us down at a dirty table as well (they didn’t even wipe it, had to steal some extra napkins to clean it myself). They even made us wait a longer time as well for the bill, during that time we even cleaned up our own table. Overall, if you just want to sit and eat this is the place but if you want good customer service with your food then I say pass over this restaurant. Extremely disappointed.

insane insane

They keep seating tables of 2 ahead of any greater. So the given 10 minute wait time becomes 30 minutes. 2 people get up and rather than wait 2 minutes for the seats next to it to finish they keep giving those up rather move the movable divider. Then they rush you to order before you get a seat to lock you in.

Saswata Banerjee

Great variety in the menu consisting of numerous authentic Korean dishes. Very friendly staff who offer a good service. Food is served fast, quantity is good, and tasty as well. You can make it to go, if you are unable to finish the whole dish. They provide lot of side dishes and a special cardamon drink at the end. The only negative point according to me is the shortage of space to sit and the seats are not very comfortable. However, I recommend this restaurant.

Joanne Junho Lee

They have the best budaejjigae (army stew) in ktown. I would recommend coming here if you are craving some authentic korean food. Their food reminds me of my grandma who’s in Korea right now. Feels like I’m back home.

Aletheia E

The tteokkbokki was delicious! The banchan was pretty good too. The jjigae was just okay. Great service!

Keaton Baird

This restaurant is my number one place. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to this restaurant. when I want to go to a good lunchon, this place comes straight to my head. extremely good and food and a rich cuisine.trained crew, and agreeable mood. And very important, the pay is affordable. I praise this spot with great pleasure.

Dee Tee

Very very poor management leads to RUDE service. They just slammed the food down on the table. We wanted to cook the BBQ ourselves but they wanted to interfere, then they interfered with our BBQ cooking eventually. What's the point of having BBQ if you can't cook yourself? They wanted to take my dessert drink away when it was still full and not long at all after they gave the dessert drinks to us. They cleaned and changed the BBQ right in front of us when we were still sitting there having our drinks. We were rushed out and didn't enjoy our time there as they made us feel we have to eat quickly and leave so they can take the money. Consequently, we left no tips and they chased after us for it (still no tips). We have been to so many Korean restaurants in many cities and the service is nothing like place. The food is ok here. We've had better Korean food. Don't waste your money at this restaurant. One star for this place is because I can't choose 0 star

Gq Gq

asked to a waitress who is short and skinny many times to ask a bill but She just kept chatting with a tall guy looks like a manager. They looked like lovers. Pay attention to customers!

Sanka Illangakoon

Overpriced, overhyped and tasteless are 3 words I'll use to describe this restaurant. Visited today for dinner and the first thing you notice is that the staff are good. And then the food comes out and it's completely out of tune: tasteless, oily and completely below expectations. Can't believe I paid $70 for the 3 dishes we ordered when we could have gotten better food for half the price in the same neighbourhood.

Sunny Tan

Food was good and service is prompt, one just need to endure the long queue before having the food during dinner time.

HS Hwang

Because of the long waiting list in other places, I just gave it a shot here and it was so unpleasant. With only a few of waiting people, I was asked to go upstairs to be served but the upstairs staff(manager or owner?) asked me to choose menu in a rush and go back downstairs again which was fine if his attitude was acceptable. Horribly rude and I almost felt like going out. The side dishes are just average. I haven't tried other dishes but the main menu I have chosen was below average. I should've read the review of this place.

Alonna Miceli

I'm native Korean born, but adopted by Americans and struggle with speaking Korean. This place has decent food but I felt ignored and passed over for other fluent Korean speaking customers. Do not go here if you want to enjoy a Korean meal in a warm setting

Long Chang

Food was great... Nothing to complain about regarding the kitchen but service was subpar so I thought it was RIDICULOUS and RUDE when the Waitress had the nerve to come tell me that she wanted more than the $15 that I left for her as tip. (Disclaimer: 15% of my bill was a little more than $16.) She even brought my signed receipt back to me asking for the rest. That experience left such a distaste in my mouth that I would've given this place 0 stars is possible.

Tiffany Lee

I loved the historical but modern setting of the restaurant. Although, it was quite busy with not that many waiters(?) I appreciated my waiter because they were obviously working hard and tired because it was late at night. But the food wasn't that tasty and could've been cooked more or less.

Joann Kim

Best Korean food in ktown! Service is great too. If you come during lunch it’s not crowded and a great deal

Ed Zx

How can your waitress force customers to give over 20% tips?

jakemanza

I love this place. I come here every time I am in the city. Even if I'm just going from the Airport to the train station I always take the time to stop in for a bite.

Sandrine P.

Pretty good restaurant. Good quality-price ratio.

Sarah Kurien

Such delicious food and our server was exceptionally wonderful!! So helpful and kind.

Bruce Goldberg

Great meal. Just like when I lived in Seoul for 8 years. Great staff.

Tobias Garcia

The food is astounding and the service excellent.

Jereb Tang

We had a great experience and enjoyed the Korean food very much. But the atmosphere turned intense when we were paying our bill. The reason was that we didn't know there was a minimum required tip amount to pay since this was the first time that we travel to New York. When we paid, one of the attendant was rude enough to say that we had provided the required service and should pay the minimum tip amount. Her face turned sour and gossiped with her colleagues in front of us. In addition, she chased us out when we didn't finish our food. Should we say you should ask us politely for the tip and since you are in the service line we think you are ruining the shop image. Overall I think the service attitude of the attendant was super unsatisfactory and we should think it can take note of for other future customer experience. And definitely it is one of my bad memory in my first New York trip experience.

Jackie S Yoon

This restaurant is always busy because its food was good and staffs were kind. However I gave only 3 stars because its Korean pancake taste was very disappointing.

Nars You

The best breakfast ever! All the menus we ordered were very tasty and a good price. We ordered four bowls of Korean soup which came with many side dishes. They do know how to cook real Korean home cooked meal. It's like my mom cooked for me when I was little. I want to go to Manhattan again to eat their food.

Vincent Soto

Ann is the best! Amazing service and food. Hite beer with korean food is incredible together. definitely recommend this spot!

JJ Christ

Great food, classic dishes. Been going here for 10+ years. It is worth the wait if there is a line. Family owned by two generations. Fast and efficient and very friendly.

안예림 Yerim

It's so delicious...The staff members are very kind, and most of all, they just put the taste on it. If you don't go to the Kunjip, you can't say you went to New York. The basic side dishes are also the best.

Eduardo Rojas

Good service... waiters need to explain better the food for people like us that don’t know anything about Korean food... find the place to be overpriced

Richard Nan

You guys messed up my order and still tried to charge the missed order that we did not even eat. H mart frozen shhts taste better

Hehea Pi

Poor service, long wait to take our order. The waitress who is woking upstairs is so rude and nasty. She has a long hair and she was wearing a lot of bracelets. The young lady boss is rude as well. She likes touching young handsome men! Don't go this place!

Justin Bayoneto

If you’re looking for a smaller, lowkey Korean BBQ experience, this is your place. Very intimate, yet simple setting. The tables do have option for Korean BBQ, thought majority of options are really kitchen meals. They offer plenty of appetizers with meals, and the price is better compared to neighboring restaurants. Just could use better service if anything.

Jooyoung Lee

Amazing food and quick with service!! Would definitely recommend for great korean bbq!

James

This restaurant has one of the best Korean food I've ever had in NYC, if not most cities in the US. I also loved that they stay open late. If you know about real Korean food, this place has traditional dishes that you normally wouldn't find at most "Korean BBQ" spots and they're delicious. I will definitely come back to this spot whenever I'm in NYC. Highly recommended!

세영이

It was a little pricey but food was okay to eat. Was not too bad overall. However I think there are much better places to go to.

Jess

한국어 리뷰는 더보기에 있어요. I don't even want to give this 1 star. I and my friends are traveling in NYC and my friend joined us late so we went there just for her. We told them we only wanna order one meal for her. The waitress told us we can't and that we have to order at least 3 meals(it was 4 people). So we asked if we can order one order to dine in and 2 orders for togo. The waitress got super frustrated and acted like we can't do that. So, we ordered like that. And when we checked out, we wanted to split check for the togo orders. The waitress told me we can't split the check and that we should have told that to her in before we ordered. I have never heard of such a silly practice. We complained that it didn't make any sense and that in fact they should have been the ones to tell us in the first place. I don't understand why she was like this. Ive been living in the States for 4 years and that has never happened before. Then she saw that my friend was paying cash and the lady said, oh if you are paying cash then its ok. She told me we can't split the check and now shes changing her words. I tried to take picture of the check(it was handwritten instead of printed) Are they cheating on their taxes or what? At least we still tipped well and left. Food is overpriced and wasn't even good(sub-par at best). Do not go here. We asked for hot water, and never brought it to us. Never checked on us or asked how we were doing. Told us we have to pay everything at once and couldn't split. Terrible service and poor quality food. DO NOT GO THERE AND SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Great choices of Korean food, quite authentic. My favorite is the BBQ grill, like Galbi and Bul Go Ki. They also have tongue, short ribs, chicken and shrimps. Don’t forget to try soon doo boo or the tofu soup, with veggie and seafood. For the appetizers, my favorites are seafood pancake, dumpling, and fried tofu. They certainly have more choices for you to try. The place is always packed unfortunately. You have to wait at least 10-15 minutes, or even more. Price wise it’s manageable, like a portion of Black Angus Beef Galbi for $35 or Bul Go Ki for around $25. Enjoy your food!

My go to Korean restaurant in Koreantown. Often busy but attentive service. Varied menu but the food is consistently good and portions are value for money. No credit cards accepted for bills less than $20.

나쁜 서비스. Long time customer, stopped in after not being in city for three months. Decided to introduce relative to Korean and her first time started with hair found in spoon... we shrugged off and continued (as all FOUR of us are servers and bartenders and realize things happen) only to find.. serving size currently cut in half for $35 dishes. have to ask for water.... yes... water.. multiple times, asked more than three times for purple rice.. got several shrugs. Korean dishes are now not even cooked remotely the way they were before.... Fire the new chef and servers. Bring the old ones back. Am sorry to have this be the first review ive ever posted since normally I am the one to assuage friends when we go out and encounter poor service.

The staff was very rude. They told us to go upstairs then left us with no clue. We waited for 20 minutes until a server came to take our orders. Side note: we had to ask the bus boys to get our waiters because they kept ignoring us. And the waiters were very mean to the bus boys when they told the waiters that we had been waiting

Ate here with my daughter in Korean Town. This is a two story restaurant with tons of seating, though not all allow Korean BBQ. We had the $75 BBQ selection and it was perfect for the two of us. The food was great and I would definitely eat here again.

Larry Nieroda

Very quick efficient service. Very tasty food. Nice enough room. Open 24 hours. Enjoyable and recommended! I would go again in a heartbeat.

Anni Bellasnow

Ya this place was kinda run down, grills were a little sticky and there are many other food options in the area!

吕婉晴

I really like the cold noodle here. The service is also good.

My daughter and I found this place late one Saturday night. I was so glad, the service was polite but not overly friendly, I'm a native NYer so this is nothing to me. I hadn't had Korean food in a long time, but knew that I wanted Korean BBG. They prepared it at our table along with many small side dishes. Everything was DELICIOUS! We also ordered the steam dumplings. I tasted everything whether I knew what it was or not, so good! I left very satisfied. Amazingly the side dishes including soup, with the BBQ filled us very well. I would return but judging from a few of the lunch customer complaints I think dinner would be best.

Hojun Ryu

Nice customer service, and if you want to try authentic korean foods, must come here

James Downs

The food was some of the blandest I've ever had at any Korean restaurant. The service didn't exist. Check was never given. They thought we were just squatting at the table and rudely told us to leave even though they didn't ever finish their job. Can't run a restaurant. Many better places. Just dodge this one.

Angelo Dio

The worst Bibimbap I had in my life. Overcooked rice and the price was too much. Service was terrible as well. Spend your money somewhere else.

Karl Vatore

Amazing food! Best beef bulgogi i've had in the city. I highly recommend getting seated upstairs to try it.

Never ever going back to this place! My friends and I visited this place today. We should have checked the reviews before going here. They give you very little portions of side dishes. Fine but you should not do that to main entrees as well! I ordered the seafood soup and the pork, oyster, and kimchi entree to share. We were sorely disappointed. There was only a sparse amount of oyster and pork and a whole lot of kimchi! For the price, you would expect good portions but this is not the place. The seafood soup also had very little seafood inside and the rest was broth. What kind of restaurant does this? Next, I want to mention the SERVICE. Not all the tables were filled but our old male waiter (short man) upstairs was so rude to us. When we asked for more water and side dishes, he sighed and just went away. He did not come back so we had to call him again. He glared at us and then when he brought back more side dishes and water, he just sort of slammed down the dishes in front of us so that it made a loud noise! Never have we experienced poor service like this before. That waiter needs to be retrained or quit. We are also suspicious of the owner. What kind of owner allows that sort of behavior? Judging from the reviews, she does not seem to care or do anything about the poor service. Maybe she pays them very little, which is why most of the staff there seemed disgruntled and annoyed. We will not be back.

The food tasted like nothing and when we asked the waiters about it they instructed us to add more and more salt until they eventually told us it was our fault that we made the food bad and salty. Also the customer service was really bad, they kept walking away while we're talking to them, it took us to get to the manager to find someone to listen to out problem. Even the manager didn't provide much help and we had to ask them multiple times to take the food off the bill. The manager told me that i was wrong for not liking their tasteless food. They tried to make up for it with a kimchi pancake but it doesnt change the fact the staff are extremely rude.

Still the best Korean food in town! It always feels like home. I’ve been coming here for years, thanks for being the home away from home ❤️❤️❤️

The quality of food at The Keunjip is always excellent. If you want to have authentic Korean food in Manhattan this is the place to go.

Hung Nguyen

Absolutely horrible service and food. Save your money and go elsewhere, trust me.

Udo Kang

Food was good. Service from our waitress was an older lady, who was very nice. Towards the end of our dinner our waitress had to leave before we did. When we were ready to pay there was a mistake on our bill. In front of us, the manager or owner said the mistake would be taken from our waitresses pay check. That was so unbelievable they would do and say that. For just the service I would have given 5 stars. Good eats, but we couldn't digest our food very well after hearing they would punish our waitress.

Han Chuang

Saw a long line. Asked the receptionist about waiting time and he said 10-15 minutes. Waited for 30 min and the line moved for only 5 feet. If we stayed it would take more than one hour to be seated. They tried to get more customers squeezed in by lying about the waiting time. Not an acceptable business practice no matter how their food taste. If you really want to ruin your Saturday night, this is the exact place to go.

Jason Prechtl

Authentic Korean dishes, fast service. They were bringing us dishes and cooking our food at the table within minutes of us sitting down. Love the atmosphere.

Roman Kogan

Awesome food, great appetizers, splendid vibe — and they're open very late (24 hours on some days, until 3AM on others) on top of that!

Asha

Nothing spectacular. Overpriced. Rude staff. Tried to get us to over order. We stuck to our choices and they weren't happy because our bill probably wasn't high enough. Never again!

Thomas Datz

We visited here with 2 British friends. Our first time. We were pleasantly surprised. Food was plentiful and well presented. Very busy at lunchtime. We enjoyed our visit and would definitely go back

This was the first time I’ve tried Korea BBQ and I thought the experience would have been good, but it was far from it. I’ve noticed that my table received lower quality service from the waitress because we were not Korean; the table next to ours arrived later and received better service throughout their stay. They got served first. Also, she didn’t give us any sort of utinsils for out food until half way through the delivery of the food. She snatched the chopsticks out of my hand to show me how to use a pair of chopsticks because it takes rocket scientist for that. When we were leaving she cursed at me in Korean because 15% tip wasn’t good enough. After I realized I called back to let the manger know, but he was “unavailable”. So, I hope you read this, manager, and please don’t let the next costumers get a horrible experience like this. Paying $$$$ for food, atleast we should get better service.

Paul Seo

I’ve been a regular in K-town for a long time as a Korean American and I’ve never thought to leave a review because it’s a regular experience. But today’s was above and beyond and just thought to leave a note about the very personable and unique service of server Miranda at Kunjip. We rarely write reviews when it’s a good experience, and like to write when it’s bad. But

Zany N

Perfect service, amazing food! I raccommand it 100% :)

Rukhshona Rasulova

I just love going to this place. My whole family loves thos place. Their food tastes like REAL Korean food. Good job chefs

Vincent Tchong

Waitress forces you to order more food than you want. Overpriced food for infant-sized quantity. Horrible service. Staff rushes you to leave. By the way, show of hands by liking this post if you’ve noticed management writing the same responses to dissatisfied customers/reviews! Perhaps it's time to get a new batch of employees so you don’t keep getting the same terrible service feedbacks.

Scott Ko

Best Korean BBQ in the town! It is excellent place for a friend gathering as well as for a casual dinner with a client. You should try!

Joon Lee

Generally not so happy about korean restaurants in Manhattan... for the price, it should be much better. For lunch specials, the food is actually worth the money.

Abigail Kim

I went to this place two days ago with my friend, and to be honest it totally sucked. Their food was not good and so was their service. I really hope they read this and fix something. My friend and I do not really eat much, so instead of ordering something for both of us, we just ordered one and decided to share. We ordered potato stew? I don’t know what it’s called in English but it’s a spicy red soup with potatoes and beef. As you can tell by the name, the main point of the soup are the potatoes. There was only one potato. Even worse, as my friend and I were fluent Korean speakers, we could hear the waitress talking about how we only ordered one thing. If you’re gonna talk about your customers, don’t do it in the middle of your hall. It wasn’t just her, but the other workers too. To make it worse, there were Chinese customers next to us, and theses workers literally spoke about those customers right over their heads. How racist can you get? I used to work at a restaurant, and I just do not understand how the workers can serve customers with an overall annoyed face expression. If you don’t like helping customers, don’t work at a restaurant. I wish I could give this place negative stars. I’ve never written a review before, good or bad, but this place was just so terrible I feel like I have to warn future customers. I do not know if we were treated like that because we looked like students or something, but your service was just unacceptable. There were many other bad things about this place, but I do not want to waste anymore of my time with this restaurant.

Rafael Volochen

First thing you notice when you enter is how oily the restaurant floor is. You can easily skid other than walk to your table. Food wise, it is ok but nothing special, a bit tasteless if you ask me. There are some dirty dishes and utensils. And for all that is sacred, do not pay attention to how well serviced the barbecue machines are.

Helen Choi

If you are looking to experience real Korean home-style food, it is the place to go! Highly recommended as Korean who always crave for home food. Bon appétit!

Manoj Patel

Great food. Be prepared... the owner is a mother who tell you what you should eat and how. Just awesome. Love it.

Kim Ong

I’ve only ever come here for soup. Pretty good and the service is quick.

eric webb

Fast service and food came out quick. Food was great and delicious. Place is open 24/7 with local delivery

Tomas S s s

Good service and good food I like this restaurant

Ekaterina Spiridonova

I would expect a better quality of food and especially service. I could feel better vibes towards Korean people. Place was packed and I liked the idea of giving the menu to people while they waiting, however the woman who was taking orders were rushing to take the order and grab the menus out of our hands. We were there first time, so it did take some time to figure out the order. The good thing was that the line moved quick. Food was delivered to our table quite fast ❗️but there was a very long hair in toppoki❗️They apologized and changed the dish, to a new one or ?no? is a good question, because everything was done quickly. I work in the kitchen myself and that’s improper. Carelessness and irresponsibility. Food tasted good, but quite dull. I just wish they could start caring a little more about customers and don’t focus only on the profit. Expensive for the quality. I don’t know if I’d go back to this place, especially after reading the reviews about their BBQ.

Wilson Li

High quality meat, delicious veggie dishes, and attentive service. Note: if you want Korean barbecue, you need to go to the upstairs section. They will cook the meat in front of you and tell you when it is ready to eat.

Emely Velez

Delicious food and great staff.

Drago Balboa

Service was okay. Food was not okay. Quality of the food is below below average. I wish I could give this place negative stars. This site is definitely one of those joints where tourists get tricked into going because they don't know any better. I ordered BBQ from this place and I swear you not, it is the lowest quality BBQ I have ever eaten. How can you serve such flavorless meat for that price. On top of that, the waiter who served us BBQ chopped up all the meat too quick. SHE EVEN CHOPPED UP THE ONIONS. Who chops up the onions in a Korean BBQ? Horrible horrible experience. Will not be going back again.
