I am one for difference sometimes. This place was more than I expected. The alcohol drinks are strong. The food and dessert was awesome. The parties that serve the table was great- customer service exceptional. The restaurant location within the Central Park was a nice setup. I was impressed.

Yorg Azzi

Went there on a Saturday night, it was easy to find a reservation around 7:30 pm. They had a jazz band playing music which was a nice addition to our meal. We had the octopus as appetizers which was great and I had the veggie platter of the day (picture) which tasted great. My partner had the lobster risotto which also was great. Recommended for a romantic gateway night.

Salem Hunter

Beautiful place for brunch in the park. We went up to the bar as it is mostly reservation only otherwise. The French toast was fantastic as was the avocado egg toast. Amazing food, great bartenders, and a view of the park really only beaten by the Loeb Boathouse.

Tavern on the Green is one of the top destinations you to go to if you visit New York City. It is one the most scenic and pretty restaurants located in New York City. It is within central park, and it has a beautiful grand dining room, which has class and beautiful seating where you have an amazing view of the park. The food there is OK, I came here for brunch. It is slightly pricey and most entrées are around $20 but it is worth it for the experience. Highly recommend for brunch.

Janet Gray

The food was excellent and the music was great for dancing. I'd definitely go again.

I have been wanting to go there for so long! Unfortunately it was a rainy stormy night in NYC, but we still enjoyed a nice dinner in the conservatory part of the restaurant with garden view. Great service! Figs & goat cheese were very good, chicken entree was a bit dry but the sides helped. I cannot wait to go back for brunch on a sunny day.

Maria McKenna

Phenominal food, service and atmosphere. And it won't break the bank!!

Daniel Lagerman

The food was very good and the location was great but the service left us wondering what happened. Our server was nice but seemed distracted, asleep would be the closest way to describe it. First we were given corked wine, then we did not get our oysters or the red wine we ordered, as the server forgot to put those in. We decided to skip those since we already had our main course out. We got a free dessert as compensation which offset the experience a little bit. But then when we asked for the check we saw that we had been charged for the wrong steak option, and were apparently served the wrong steak. We had ordered the Chardonnay beef short rib, but got the Sirloin instead, which was apparently what the sever wrote down. It all ended on an ok note as they did not charge us for the sirloin, but the confusion could have been avoided in the first place. In all good food, confusing service and a good location. Will try again sometime in the future.

Nice atmosphere but they don't devein their shrimp! Gross!

Jordy

Definitely pricey and upscale. But they don't mind how you're dressed and they serve good drinks!

Haneen AlQunaibit

The only nice thing about it is the outdoor seating and the nice waiters! The food I would not recommend! The salad has too much oil! The burger is not edible! And the scallops do not order!

Prashant Mathur

The ambience of this place is amaze! Went there twice, once in summers - there is a live band, people dancing. Just loved it!

Helene Dorian

Atmosphere and service are 5 star rating. Food is so so...lacks bursting flavors at a high price. My daughter and I shared (for lunch) cerviche w banana chips - the best part of our meal, the shrimp cocktail maybe second best, the Burrata and tomato salad and the seared tuna salad. We didn’t taste any dressing on the tuna salad. I am glad we went but at those prices will not rush back.

Santino Corleone

Ok. Coffee too strong. A bit average but in a great location

Grace Norway

It has been years since my last visit. We sat outside this time. The service was wonderful and the food was fabulous! We had a very relaxing brunch. Lovely!

Alex Dripchak

One of the most beautiful places in the city and a great summer date spot. I’d recommend brunch over dinner as dinner was mediocre. The chicken was dry and weren’t particularly flavorful.

Venissa Nieves

Great experience. Lots of exits and entrances from the street and from the park. Nice ambiance.

Susan Beard

My friends and I had the best experience! Our wait staff, Becca and Ty, were awesome. She had the best recommendations and we went with them all and had an amazing evening! Thank you for helping make our 1st trip to NYC so awesome!

tasmia bashar

We were there at 5:45pm yesterday, 31st August. On the hind side, I wish we had chosen a different restaurant. The waiter serving us was inappropriate and the manager we had spoken to did not come back to us with a feedback. We were also advised to leave early! We were lectured by the waiter that it was a four-course fine dining restaurant and tough I had a reservation if we did not go for the whole menu we needed to move to another set up at the restaurant for lighter meals. I explained that I had an injury and can't move around too much. We were informed by him that we could stay but needed to leave early as advised by a manager! I shall post my feedback on TripAdvsior. Not recommended and we are not going back.

Priya Kodiyanplakkal

Went for restaurant week and was not disappointed. Both the food and the service was great. Recommend reservations, it was busy.

Irene Gavriluk

Wonderful wine and appetizers! Beautiful location.

Blue Audra

We entered the establishment through a friendly smile only to be greeted by arrogant and rude waitresses. We ordered a drink at the bar and the bar staff were lovely so we tipped them. Never before have I been so shocked at the difference three rude people in five minutes can make. Also, there were no seats at the bar to sit. I would honestly rate this experience as one of the worst in this city for customer service and I can now see where people get their negative opinions of this city. You are an old sheep shed. Not the white house, and certainly not Beverly Hills. Sorry, but that's a fact- so grow up.

Tina Lapointe

Service is perfect except the receptionist that at first told us there was no room for lunch on the terrace where there clearly was more than enough...the food is exquisite

Paul

The first thought that comes to mind is "average at best". If you're from out of town then this might be a place to dine or to grab a drink in central park, but as a native New Yorker I would not return. Cocktails are anywhere from $14 - $16 and are pretty weak; stick to martinis or old fashioneds, basically anything that's not overly mixed. The appetizers were just OK. We had the mushrooms, an escargot special and the figs. For our mains we split the tomahawk steak for two and the red snapper. The steak was visually impressive and it's definitely more than enough to feed two, but we ordered medium rare and it was definitely just rare. Also, they claim that they serve USDA prime beef, but if I had to bet, I would say that its choice; keep that in mind when ordering. Overall, everything was just OK and for the price you can find a million better places in NYC. But, if you insist on having dinner in Central Park then the Boat House might be a better choice and I would limit your experience at the tavern to a couple of drinks at their outdoor bar. For a party of four, we spent $480 including tip. We ordered 8 drinks, 3 appetizers, steak for two, red snapper entree, 2 desserts and 2 double espressos.

Will Sain

My wife and I ate here after our wedding ceremony in Central Park. The staff was very kind. The atmosphere was stunning. We had the best steaks ever. The price is way up there, but definitely worth it. We thoroughly enjoyed splurging and look forward to coming back someday.

David McNair

Great service, and my cesar salid with pulled chicken was large and delicious

Colette Schmit

Welcome was so-so. Our waitress was very friendly though and accommodating. At first we sat in a bright spot, asked to change tables and it was arranged immediately. I had a caesar salad with salmon which was a bit pricey but delicious. The salmon was medium rare but I didn’t mind. For dessert I had the cheesecake which was truly delicious. Would eat there again but would bear in mind that it’s a bit noisy.

Monica Morris

I had an awesome time the resturant is amazing the ambience the food to the awesome band. A most go to cannot wait to go back loved it..

Kathy Schulte

Food was excellent! Great atmosphere and the live music was excellent! Would go back!

Megan Mayer

Good food. We walked right in for indoor seating. Great service.

Steven Ramirez

Very nice atmosphere within Central Park, great service and the food was good...Just prepare your pockets for the bill!

Jocey Rob

This is my absolute favorite place to go to in NYC. It feels like you're miles away from the city in a lush fancy garden. The service has been superb each time I've gone there. Last time I had an appetizer with gigs, goat cheese, honey and some greens that was to-die-for! The New York cheesecake is one of my favorite desserts. It never disappoints. The staff is always very cordial. Food comes out in a timely manner. And they don't rush you. So you can enjoy the beautiful environment.

Barrie Smith

The location of this restaurant is amazing, it is in the park. The food is great and they have a lot of different meals. The customer service is on point. The staff is in the mood every time I go there. If you have more food that you can handle just go for a walk in the park.

Juan Garza

Loved this restaurant great food and great service and the scenery is fantastic

Tavern on the Green was the most romantic venue and Kerry created the most seamless and well-executed event for our wedding day. We wanted our guests to have the quintessential NYC experience and TOTG delivered that. There is nothing in the city that compares to a ceremony surrounded by the greenery and energy of Central Park and the south terrace provides the best space for a party after. From our early meetings with Kerry nearly one year before our big day to our sendoff at the end of the night, she was always available to us and quick to respond to any questions we had. Her co-coordinator, Ryan, was a wonderful addition to our team. On the day of our event, they feel more like guests than anything else, but the bar, food service, and all other aspects are perfectly executed. The food tasted incredible and was beautifully prepared (which is something that you don’t expect at weddings!) – our sincerest compliments to the chef! We are so happy with our decision to have our wedding at TOTG and love that we can go back to visit any time and relive our special day. Thank you to the entire team, especially Kerry, for creating the most perfect wedding venue.

Candice O'Brien

Order a salad, even if you're very hungry! Our table was famished and no-one could finish their salad! Really good and generous food. A bit hot in the glass room on a hot and sunny day and sunglasses are a must! The menu suits all tastes and diets from vegan to carnivore. Nice location.

MickMick NYC

A restaurant that is also an NYC landmarks. Located on the west side of Central Park, with the most beautiful garden and awesome vibes, makes this place a wonderful option for special occasions. Also, brunch here is always a treat. Although the accept walk ins, it’s highly recommended to reserve a table and to be specific if you want to seat inside or outside. On a beautiful summer day, seating at the outdoor space with the live music is absolutely magical. Don’t miss this NYC gem.

Ruth Page

Slow service on 8/13 lunch. Would have preferred the menu offer a black bean burger or chick pea burger rather than beyond meat burger for vegan. Is this the restaurant in Garden City Cranston??

Daniel M.

Went here for brunch on a Saturday so it was super busy but the staff was very prepared for the crowds and so we were seating pretty quickly. Be sure to have a reservation if you want to eat here in good time. I started with the green cocktail drink which included quinoa vodka, matcha, kiwis, and lime. For my entree I have the eggs Benedict Florentine minus the bacon and it was really good! We also got the chicken Caesar salad and the burger. Overall great experience at a NYC staple.

M G

Pretty disappointing. Beautiful space. Service was good, not great. But the food was way way below expectations. The crab cake, easily the worst I have ever had in my life. The look of it? A disc of fried crab patty on a white plate with a pile of cooked leeks next to it. For $21 just a serious lack of effort. I've seen better at TGIFridays. The taste? Unbelievable how bad it was. It is very rare that I complain about anything, but, this has to be one of those times. The rest of it...very very pedestrian. The seared tuna salad with mango, seaweed salad, noodles and other, you can get better these days at any corner bar. This is 2019, not 1989. For $150.00 of my hard earned money, I feel like I just got robbed.

Niv Pai

Beautiful restaurant with a great vibe and a gorgeous ambience. Went here to celebrate an anniversary and we had such an amazing evening. The food was delicious and the servers were very friendly. Highly recommend.

Jani

If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. My fiancé and I had a brunch reservation as a 30th birthday celebration. We walked in all was good, but we were told by the hostess we could sit at the bar while we wait. I ordered a $15 mimosa with a $100 DOLLAR BILL. When we receive our change we noticed it was $30 short. We spent a good 5 minutes trying to get the attention of the bartender, until finally my fiancé got up and went to her. When he showed her the change and receipt - she literally laughed and told us no we were wrong. We explained to her, told her to look at the cameras and call a manager. She “attempted” to call a manager, but one didn’t come to us until I grabbed another hostess and explained the situation. Once the manager came the bartender was singing a different tune, told him it was a mistake and that we were just mad because we were waiting 20 minutes. She didn’t didn’t acknowledge us as we waited and didn’t realize her mistake until we made it a bigger deal. I’m assuming this is a regular reoccurrence with her and she’s probably pocketing your change daily. We didn’t feel welcomed there and just left due to their lack of customer service. Horrible experience for such a beautiful restaurant. Definitely won’t return and will spend our money else where.

Jason Glenn

My fiance and I stopped into Tavern on the green for some breakfast on our first morning in NYC. What a great start to the trip. The service was first class and the recommendations from our waiter turned out to be perfect. Bloody Mary's are the best I've ever tasted and the Eggs Benedict was phenomenal. Highly recommended and the next time I'm in New York, I'll definitely be returning. A++

Asbjörn Friederich

Although the food was decent, it was on the pricey side (guess you're paying for the location). Bar staff was intensely rude which ruined the lunch to a large extent.

irene e.

Excellent! Loved it. Pricey but it was fun to be a part of it all.

Benjamin Baker

Helpful server, good food and a great location. We ate inside on a beautiful sunny day. The restaurant interior has glass so you feel like you're eating outside

some random weird cookie

It was incredible

Michael James

Best service from the hostess with the phenomenal ponytail (she was too busy for me to interrupt and get her name) and the dynamic duo (Jaques & Raul [spelling]). Food (Eggs Benedict with lobster, French toast, buttermilk biscuit & Gravy and the maple bacon) was excellent. We will definitely return. Thanks for completing the perfect birthday present with perfect service and food. Chef(s)!!!! My hats off to you as well. Thanks again.

Carol M. Walker

Wow, amazing area!! The view is Beautiful. We had been sitting by using the bar outdoor and the guys have been speedy, pleasant, and aware of each person near the bar. I will constantly go to this eating place every time I'm in NYC.

Nicole Welch

Excellent service. Friendly staff. Great menu recommendations. I had the battered fish and chips. It was delicious. Perfect, flakey crust and shoe string fries, with a small greens salad. My friend ordered the vegetable salad in the back of the picture and enjoyed it and her sweet potato fries side order. We shared a decadent chocolate and peanut butter lava cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. The cake was so fluffy! We highly recommend! You can not go wrong dining here. First time visiting on a recommendation from a friend. Definitely, will return!

David Junkins

A very special place. The type of place you should experience for yourself. It's not cheap and the menu is a bit deliberate, but you should be able to find something that meets your needs. Waitstaff and management are very good. Definitely one of the highlights in a city full of incredible options.

Cat Herine

I went with my mom for an early dinner after a walk in the Central Park. For the meal we would give a 3 star and 1 for the setting. We feel that the main dish or entree is too large. We were happy that we shared it. The duck leg was tender and juicy. But the breast was tough and a bit dry. If it could accompany with more sauce might be easier to sallow. Or if choose a fatter part of the duck it might be more moist. Or if this dish could split into two then we could actually have one entree each it would be a more delightful experience.

Douglass Linguanti

Brunch in Central Park is hard to beat. The food was excellent as expected. Also pricey as expected. service was above average. The place is noticeably clean compared to most places in NYC. A must do at least once.

Alex Maness

Great place especially if the weather is nice. Great service. Adjacent to streets but still inside the park. Had white peach sangria and a buffalo chicken flat bread, both were excellent. Highly recommended. Live music too.

Duncan Findlay

Busy as hell, and just ok. Drink menu was pretty limited and bartenders surly. Great location though.

Sarah Edwards

Excellent! Cobb salad was great, my husband got a burger and house made chips and he loved it. We were treated to a delicious piece of confetti cake for dessert bc it is our anniversary. Just a wonderful experience all around. Oh, and fig appetizer as well, very good!!!

Andrew McBarnett

Great restaurant in the middle of Central Park. Had brunch and although we had to wait even though we had reservations - it was definitely worth it! Yummy food, great service and ambience! Would definitely visit again!

Ian Owen

Great ambiance the food is amazing and the staff are so polite and helpful i highly recomend.

Deneen Glidwell

Beautiful atmosphere delicious brunch. I tried eggs Benedict and the French toast. Good service too. Enjoy the stroll through the gift shop

S

Beautiful iconic restaurant. We walked in and requested a table in the main dining room for lunch and ten minutes later it was ready! The food was good and service excellent. It was wonderful to be treated well considering we were tourists and dressed casually. This is not one of those snooty pretentious establishments. Tavern On The Green was the icing on the cake of our lovely trip to New York. Will return, thank you.

Pam Pacheco

The best food, the best service and the best view! My family and I had such a great time especially given the service. Our waiter was the best!!! You’ll be so lucky to have him - Sergio ❤️. He’s the best!!

Alex Maness

Great place especially if the weather is nice. Great service. Adjacent to streets but still inside the park. Had white peach sangria and a buffalo chicken flat bread, both were excellent. Highly recommended. Live music too.

Gloria Bruno

The food was exceptionally good. The fig appetizer was wonderfull I think every one at our table had it at raved about it.The rest of the meal was also great.Your servers are helpful and pleasant. It was an enjoyable time.

Eddie Levy

This spot constantly delivers. They serve great food for convenient prices, there are no long waits even when the place is full.

Schrödinger Cat

Best place for a birthday brunch. Food is great, and there is music. Sat outside, lovely.

Zakeenah Smith

The decor and ambiance live up to it's reputation. It was beautifully and tastefully decorated. I went for lunch during restaurant week but was very dissatisfied with the choices, so I ended up ordering off the regular lunch menu. It was pricey but not unreasonable. I had the crab cakes and they were the best crab cakes I ever had in my life. The chocolatechip brownie was good but the salted caramel ice cream was a little too salty. The only disappointment was the service. The other restaurants I patronized during restaurant week had stellar service. My waiter here wasn't great and I had to flag him down several times to get his attention. My son still enjoyed the experience so I wasn't too disappointed.

dpak3000

If the weather cooperates, I would definitely recommend to sit outside during dinner. Its really a great scene outside. The inside is just as beautiful with a great atmosphere matched by its menu. The dry aged steak was delicious and would definitely recommend. Birthday cake dessert was humongous and could be shared by 4 people!!

Mike Johnston

For what this place was built up to for us, it was a bit disappointing. The service was good, the ambiance was very nice but the food was blah. I ordered chicken and my wife had fish and they both had no taste. I was expecting much more especially for the price. I will say, the dessert we had was good. We'll probably skip this place next time for dinner, but could see ourselves going back just for drinks and dessert.

Shirley Carty

I recommend for everyone to go at least one time in their lives. Beautiful place. Amazing staff. Expensive but worth every penny.

Jack Dillé

Absolutely gorgeous spot right near Sheep Meadow in Central Park. We stopped on a hot day for iced tea and ice cream and happily were able to get a table in the shade. We liked it so much we returned later in the day for another beer under the elegant summer lights while a live jazz band played. Summer dream!

Thomas Steffek

We have been eating there since they reopened and the fare is excellent. Great service and good drinks.

Lucy Timms

Fab food. Great location. Supreme staff

Jud Lewis

A bit overpriced and I think taking any space from central park away from vegetation and green should be a crime, but that said, it is a nice place. Be prepared for a couple hundred dollars between entrees sides and drinks. The service was great and the food was acceptable. I did have to send my steak back since it was cold. Upon the second presentation, they had corrected the error.

kay ili

The place is down the hill. What happened? No service , odd smell in the lounge area, stained upholstery, very different crowd. Ouch... I can’t believe it...

Ryan Miles

I was realaxing in the park, Central park which by the way is the best park in which i have been and i was looking for some place to eat so a check Teddy`s guide and i saw this restaurant( Tavern on the Green) just next to me and i went to check it out. I must to sey, everything in this restaurant is amazing and they have amazing location. Thank you!

Ryan Bristol

Great atmosphere, great music, great food, but if you're looking for lobster don't get the lobster roll, too small for $31. The service is okay but not amazing

Charles Martin

Visiting from Florida to tour the city in which I grew up with my partner for the first time. Had a magical experience with a horse and carriage ride through Central Park before being dropped off at the front entrance of Tavern for Saturday brunch! Sat at the indoor bar area best bloody Mary’s and Mimosa nostalgic since my late father once served here many decades ago!

devon omalley

What a beautiful setting, right in central park. Strings of lights overhead and the food is to die for. The service is top notch and you can take a carraige ride through the park afterwords. A really great choice for a romantic date.

danila monica

Very good food, nice service. Good location. A little bit expensive but worth it.

Michiel Boerwinkel

Food was good to great. The service, though at times almost too attentive, was amazing, with staff paying proper attention to the diners’ needs and anticipating them. Great people, great ambiance.

Linda Terrasi

The service is terrible. We there for brunch. My gf had to return her chicken ceasre salad be cause she ordered grilled chicken & it was broiled & we were told it sits in duck fat before its cooked. It changed. Used to be a great place. What happened?

Kim Poulsen

Pricey but worth it. Food and service is good

Matan Kadosh

Loved this place for brunch! The food was excellent and the staff was very attentive. The cocktails were well crafted and the ambience was delightful. I would highly recommend this place for brunch. They even surprise people with cake if you make a reservation for a special occasion. We also received a post card free of charge. Hope this helps!

Dana Gonzalez

The food was fabulous ( I had the lobster risotto), it's a gorgeous restaurant, and our server, Zac, was wonderful!!!

Jennifer Lee

Not a friendly place. I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time at this place. 1. The restaurant hostess won’t allow my well behaved service dog into the restaurant. I politely asked to speak to the manager. She lied to me saying she was the manager. 2. I asked her to provide the restaurant rule indicating service dog is not allowed at this restaurant. She said I can find it on their website. I checked the website and found none. I’ve been a frequent customer at this restaurant because it’s a convenient place to sit down and have some drinks in the center park. However, my experience today was not satisfactory. I would not go there anymore. The hostess’s dishonest behavior reflected badly on the restaurant’s image and reputation.

Andrew Cohen

A classic once again. Great spot for dinner, drinks and dancing under the stars. A great dinner and bar menu, good service and excellent atmosphere.

Ghadah Albabtain

I like the atmosphere

Rebecca Jackson

great except we were there when the blackout happened and didn't get our order, and that didn't even invite us back or try to make it up to us.

Monica R

We had the 3 course weekly special and it was all very delicious! Beautiful place to celebrate our anniversary dinner.

Ki-Anna Drayton

It was so beautiful. Ambience is out of this world. Grilled octopus was good minus the olives. Loved the steak, truffle mac and cheese with asparagus. I enjoyed the view and date night ❤

Mevrin Gerrett

Really awesome place. Super beautiful inside. Service is always top notch and the food is unlike any other. Definitely one of my favorites.

Jo Cui

Came here for restaurant week. Food was great and the garden is pretty. Our waiter Christian is awesome, he made our dining experience more enjoyable.

melissa chaffier

Disappointing. For beginners the service is at best Horrible. Second the atmosphere is simply lame. Third the food is not good and the drinks are even worse. My recommendation is go to loebs boathouse to obtain an incredible Central Park atmosphere with beautiful views, outstanding service, and delicious food and drinks...

Alexandria Simpson

We went for Sunday brunch. The steak and eggs was very good and my boyfriend got the tavern burger. Our server was great, the place is iconic and beautiful and the food is fantastic. You can make reservations ahead too. Oh and Central Park is right outside for exploring before/after. There is literally no reason not to go here while in NYC!

Constance Wendlek

The service was extraordinary! Thank you Zachary from Minneapolis!!! The food was perfection! And the atmosphere was, as always, memorable!!

John Gibbs

I get to New York once every year or two. So, I'm a tourist. As a tourist, it's hard to beat this place. Good food, great setting, and friendly service.

Leveraged Marketing Corporation Of America

Food is very good, but service at the bar for Sunday brunch is terrible. Had the same male bartender 2 times in a row now, and he seems oblivious to customers unless they want to hear his dating exploits which he goes into ad nauseum. Disappeared at one point for about 10 minutes with a busy bar. Made an Irish Coffee for lady next to us and then added whiskey after it was made and spilled it all over bar. He said, oops that's not the way I had it planned. He never made an attempt to clean it up and just walked off. We had to offer the lady cocktail napkins to clean it up. Had to repeatedly ask for items like salt and pepper, check etc., had to pour our own wine from the bottle we ordered, etc. The bar is a great atmosphere, but deserves better service. It appears the table waiters in the bar area do a good job, but bar service needs vastly improved. If this continues, no more brunch on Sunday's for us. We have had a very good female bartender, but she is not often there.

Sara Tawil

Met my expectations and then some. First of all, the service was impeccable. Our server knew so much about the menu, both food and drink. I do recommend calling ahead to reserve, since it was the first question asked of us. The food was delicious. It is a pricy meal but worth every penny! And you just can't beat the location...Central Park!

Molly Hounsom

Dinner was amazing and the service too! Loved it!!

Lili G.

Great service and beautiful place. The food was great

Andy Ryle

The service is impeccable here. It shows that the staff honestly care about their craft, and being 100% perfect in their execution. The wine list was impressive and the food was perfect. They set the standard for restaurants at this place.

Jessica Heberlein

Our food was good, the ambiance was good, our service was incredibly slow. They brought the person I was with’s meal and then we waited about 45 minutes extra for my meal to come out. Once it came out it was very good.

Renee Kim

A classic Manhattan spot. We love this place. Especially summer time, saterday brunch. Very relaxing, live music and great brunch menu.

Brayden Mora

We were seated shortly in the garden, which was beautifully illuminated and magical. Sure the tables were close to each other, but our waiter Earl took such good care of us and the food was so delicious that it was a wonderful experience and a lovely evening. Kudos to the current management for operating such a historic restaurant with excellence and passion. We ordered escargot and mushroom pastry, both quite tasty and beautifully seasoned, followed by the whole roasted branzino, which was delicious and the lamb, also very enjoyable. We finished with the excellent pineapple tart and coconut ice cream. Tavern on the Green is an iconic restaurant and I was delighted to see that it has not lost its charm. Thank you for a great evening.

James C

Could not have asked for a better summer day to sit out and enjoy brunch. It is definitely a bucket list items for sure!

RaeAnn Serra

Had such a fantastic time here. My table ordered a bunch of things to share and everything was delicious. Oysters were fresh, the black truffle mac and cheese was to die for, and even the birthday cake dessert was spectacular. Remi was also such a pleasure to have as a server. Thanks!

Mark Hively

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Central Park's iconic Tavern on the Green. The food and service were both excellent. A light snow fell over the park while we ate our meal. A very beautiful view while dining.

Daphne Cohen

Held my son’s rehearsal dinner at Tavern on the Green. I worked with Natalie and she was a delight, professional and courteous. The event was everything I had hoped for. The food and drink were great as was the service. Highly recommend.

Mahima Srivastava

Cannot rave enough about how gorgeous Tavern on the Green is. Visited here for restaurant week and requested a table in the courtyard. Booked reservations for 8:45 pm to get the night views and live music together. Vibe was amazing and everyone around was enjoying it. We went for the restaurant week menu and added on a wine pairing as well for extra 20 bucks. Definitely recommend this for anyone local to NYC or visiting.

Mr XP

Great outdoor space, but the singing ruined the relaxing vibes there.

Robert T

Ok, I just walked by and didn't actually eat here, but was amused by a sign advertising the beer special; Pabst Blue Ribbon for $8 a cup. Is that really a draw? I think a six pack of PBR pounders probably goes about $8, but I digress. Have you had the PBR hard coffee? That stuff is tasty. I'd be tempted to pay $8 for one of those on a hot day.

Caroline Layton

Great place to chill with a beer or two! Nice setting outdoors. Didn't try indoors. Only had drinks, no food although it looked good. A bit pricey but I find a lot of New York is. Worth a visit.

Wells Noonan

It was so pretty! The service was nice and the location was ideal.

Kristin Pryor

This place is simply beautiful and an iconic NYC restaurant. We went there for that, and for the fact that we read great reviews on their lobster bisque. Unfortunately they did not have this soup on the menu. We ordered from the menu and the food was fine, but not the overwhelming wonderful fare we were hoping for. They did have live music which was nice, but we were seated so far from it we couldn't hear it until we were on our way out. Glad we went though!

First time here since the renovation. The place looks beautiful and the food is good. More of a New York institution to visit at least once or a good place to meet for drinks. My only complaint, the bathrooms are not kept well for a restaurant of this stature. The garbage was overflowing, the floors were all wet and dirty and the woman working (or actually, not working at all) in the bathroom was extremely rude to the guests on line. I visited it twice at different times during my stay and it was awful and disgusting both times. There is no excuse for that and they need to do much better.

Great food, but pricey. Can be hard to get a table in the outdoor area as it's popular with tourists. The indoor restaurant seemed too formal for the way we were dressed. Great service.

Carolyn O'Hara

Beautiful location, excellent service and delicious food. Wonderful for a special occasion.

Faisal AlSager

The atmosphere here reminds you of some of the epic movies. And the food is very good.

Joe Carosella

Great food very unique appetizers. Try the chicken tenders very good and different from your typical tenders

The ambience is extremely nice. Beautiful live Music and very nice outdoor space. The quality of food is very poor though. One of the worst dinner I have ever had in NYC.

Was so excited that we were able to find a table on a Saturday night. The place has amazing atmosphere but the service is extremely lacking. It took 15 minutes just for us to get water and another 15 to get our drinks from the bar. Additionally, the braised short rib was extremely tough and dry. Would not recommend except to sit at the bar and have a drink. I was extremely disappointed with our experience.

Love this spot in the summer! My favourite time to come is actually first thing in the morning before it gets too busy. I will order a berry bowl - note that it’s not on the menu as it’s on the kids menu (read: it’s a great deal) and pair it with a glass of sparkling rose. Perfect spot to cool down when you’re walking through the park as well. One of my favourite stopping places while in New York City. ♥️

Beautiful atmosphere in a great Central Park location. The outdoor seating area has a nice view of the park, and staff is always friendly and accommodating. Menu has a good variety of options, and drinks are reasonably priced for the area.

Wow. I am speechless. Our server Spencer was AMAZING! The Bloody Mary was so unique and perfect and same with the Staten Island. Their Mushroom Lentil soup was AMAZING and same with the salad. Their softshell crab was delicious and their salmon was literally the best fish I've ever had. 15/10 stars. I'll be back for sure

Best brazinno (fish) with sauces to die 4. Waiters both fun friendly efficient. Bucket list cked off but added on again. Can't just do once.

Lovely day for brunch. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the autumn weather.

My wife and I have been fortunate to have dined here on 3 or 4 occasions and have always been pleased with the service. The food was exceptional, every time, and today our Server Jamie suggested the dessert of the day which was a mango raspberry tart. I love mango, but I'm often disappointed because there is often just a minute flavoring of mango. Not so at Tavern on the Green, the mango was plentiful and tasty! Thank you Jamie for the suggestion!

Devin L

My take on this place is consistent with other positive reviews. - Polite, accommodating and attentive service - Location, of course! - I had maple bacon and avocado toast and they were good - Really big place (probably need a map to navigate!) and ambience was quite lively.

We got an amazing deal during the New York Restaurants week this summer. Just book the table in advance for the dinner plans, the place getting crowded pretty fast. The food is always delicious. The perfect atmosphere for a date.

I haven't been in years, everything was so awesome. Waitress was great, my wife had the restaurant week menu, I had 8 other dishes... Everything was fantastic. The creamed spinach was out of this world, pasta was perfect, everything was spot on.

Joe Kennedy

Great service at this bat right inside the park. Great place to have a drink.

The food was amazing and so was the setting. Unfortunately, our server was ready to leave. We got there and he was guarding the table that just left and saying to the busser that he didn't want to be sat with another table after us and was ready to go because it was slow. He made us feel like we had inconvenienced HIM because he didn't want to be there. Then he got sat with a new table and convinced another server to take it for him right beside us in clear earshot. He also forgot our drink orders twice and we had to remain him to put them in. So yeah not good. But the food and setting was like I said. Amazing!!

It's Restaurant Week so of course I had to visit this renowned restaurant, known for its ambiance and location especially since its close to my place of employment and I had not been here since before the renovation years ago. The restaurant week menu was inexpensive at $26.00 per person and came with a wine pairing for an extra $17.00. Let me say, it was well worth it! The menu offered great variety for the price. As an appetizer I enjoyed the summer squash flatbread made with fontina cheese, yellow squash, sun dried tomatoes, and drizzled with a pesto sauce. As my main course I had the mango chicken skewers. This was complemented with a coconut sticky rice with wilted arugula and garnished with parsley and toasted coconut. All I can say is delicious!!! The service was wonderful. Our server Catherine was great at describing and suggesting wines to complement each course. My companion started with the watermelon salad. This encompassed yellow and red watermelon, feta cheese, and was drizzled with balsamic cigarette. For their main course, my companion tried the salmon. It looked delicious as well. The atmosphere of Tavern is elegant yet relaxed. I am quite certain this would be an awesome place for a wedding reception. Surrounded by Central Park with its horse driven carriages and airy, green foliage. Tavern can also serve as a place for a romantic dinner. I will definitely be returning.

We stopped in here while on a walk in Central Park for morning mimosas and appetizers. The drinks were delicious. Buffalo chicken flatbread and deviled eggs did not disappoint. This is definitely a stop worth making!

Matthew McDevitt

Always an amazing place and a great time. The food was great again. Always come back for the experience!!!

Bridget K

Food was absolutely amazing and our waitress Becca was one of the best waitresses I've ever had. Everything we tried we loved. The big ribeye was perfect. Mushroom pastry was our favorite. Cant imagine a better time! I dont care for dry wine but loved the dry wine she recommended. She truly needs a bonus for tonight...above the tip we left. It wasn't a meal it was an experience!

Wouldn’t get seated with a reservation because they “are understaffed”. Consistently horrible management and service, despite amazing outdoor space. Sad to watch this place go under over and over again given such a privileged position in Central Park. New Yorkers avoid it - tourists should as well - until proper management takes over.

Our reservation was at 19:00 and we were in our Uber by 19:50. We had dinner if you could call it that...We are here on vacation from the O.C. in California. I made the reservation online a month in advanced and specifically requested a table outside. We were seated inside and that was disappointing. Our waiter was aloof and had the personality of an ice cube. You are better off getting some good take out and sitting in Central Park. We literally spent less than an hour there, it was horrible! A waste. NEVER AGAIN!!! DON'T waste your time.

Suzanne Millan

Just what I hoped for. It was restaurant week. $42 for 3 courses. $62 with wine pairings. Music on the patio with the lights and we could dance. Excellent server Grace.

PJ Bell

The historic restaurant with a touch of old and totally new! Drinks at the Carousal bar, more than tasty food! Always a treat! My return visit today was just as lovely as my first visit. Carousal Bar

원오직나만

We had a drink with snack at the bar. Our bartender was super friendly and their mushroom toast was delicious. It is pricey ㅡ2drinks with a snack for ~$50+ but you are paying for the location.

Ryan Oliver

pleasant bar with a good ambiance, a bit more expensive than your average bar.

Kristen Kemble

The weather was fantastic so we had dinner in the garden after the long travel to NYC. This place has a unique atmosphere and an elegant look. The outdoor seating is perfect in the summer. There was a live band playing this night and we were enjoying the nice jazz music with a glass of red wine. Our waiter was very polite and offered us the dish of the day. We ordered grilled whole fish and the seafood fusilli pasta which were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The place is situated Central Park so went for a romantic walk after the dinner. We loved the restaurant so will definitely visit it again soon.

Walked in off the street. Sat at the bar outside with our two kids, age 12 and 16. Had a few drinks and some food. Great atmosphere mad all the better by the excellent bar man, Jed. Cheers.

Christian Torres

Service and food were great last I visited. As always, the decor and ambiance are what lure you in.

Mani Xu

Food could have been better. Oysters are not so fresh. Service is just average

Mia Doyle

Lovely outdoor place for a drink during summer nights. Service is good. Recommend it!!

alan chicotel

Excellent service and delicious food. We actually mistakenly made reservations for the following night, but they fit us in and got us a table with no problems. Had the restaurant week menu and it was so good! I got the chicken, juicy and perfectly cooked, the wife got the shirt rib which was tender and delicious. The grits on that short rib plate were sublime. I recommend added the wine tasting to your meal! They were an excellent match.

Bernadette

Great bellini and lovely wait staff. I had a solo lunch date and they made me feel welcome. Great space, good lighting, awesome greens (salad)

gregg Radford

Excellent service and delicious food! We especially enjoyed the Lump Crab Meat, Bacon (4 thick slices), vegetable salad, and Shaved Sirloin Sandwich. The crab cake tasted like canned crab (disappointing), but it was cooked perfectly with a delectable tartar sauce. Our waiter was friendly and attentive! It made for an wonderful afternoon lunch!

lmwold

Very nice place. Menu had some nice price fix or entree options, but not too many options. Salmon was very good, my daughter’s New York steak was excellent (when in Rome), my wife’s risotto was fine. The watermelon feta salad lacked much flavor for being in the middle of the summer. The mixed green salad was better. My daughter enjoyed her “mock tail”. Service was top notch. I liked their matching uniforms with green ties. The restaurant itself was very clean, but seems like it could use a little refreshing and updating. There is a sad little gift shop that you should stop by because the employee there is bored. Nice touch to have a door man, but I don’t think anyone can drive up to the place these days. Cheese cake dessert hit the spot at the end. Been there now, don’t feel like I have to go again.

Olevia j

This spot knows how to serve their clients. Always with a helpful demeanor. The food is affordably priced, always delicious and neat.

Caleb Stanford

For such an upscale place, the food (chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and asparagus, lava cake desert) was really average. Chicken tough and not juicy, lava cake just so heavy and sweet. The salad and wine were good, though. No complaints about the service, space, or atmosphere.

Alanna Harding

Great atmosphere and great food. Wait staff was very attentive and professional.

Cynthia Stocks

Lovely ambiance, the Rack of Lamb was superb !! The live band was great!! Definitely gotta get back there before the summer ends!!

Nat H

Beautiful space in central park. Great food and good vibes

Teresa Salvador

A very nice place in the heart of Central Park. Not too expensive for the location it's at. You might need a reservation for a full lunch, but snacks and drinks are first come, first serve. The snacks and drink deal is plenty for a meal (meatball sliders, sandwiches and even hamburgers), but you'll have to order at the bar.

Aaron Small

Went for Sunday brunch and it was absolutely delicious! Very welcoming bar area when you arrive to wait for your table. I’d certainly go again!

Nandani Molly Hemnauth

Eury was amazing & had great customer service skills. The food & atmosphere was amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant!!!
