This Restaurant is included in the category of Korean restaurant.
Very good Korean restaurant, our first time there and the staff was very helpful with all of our questions. They gave us wonderful suggestions. The food was wonderful.
This place is fantastic! If you're looking for authentic (non BBQ grill) Korean good then go here. The kimchi pancakes are delicious as is the seafood and pork belly. We got a soju and cucumber drink that was refreshing. It's worth the walk up to the 2nd floor! My favorite in Korea Town!
I like the vibe of the space and the food was solid. Good drinking / eating spot.
Great place to eat and drink!! 3rd time there and it didn't disappoint. Reasonable pricing with a great menu selections. Cooked for you so its not BBQ and stinky clothing!! Intimate and friendly staffing. Frozen beer was cute lol
I think their food is actually not bad, their Budae Jigae was very good, surprisingly.
Great food, super friendly waiters. I will always keep going back.
Talk about one of the best nights of my life so far. This was the second spot in Koreatown I’ve been to since moving to NYC. We got absolutely the food was pretty good. The vibe was really nice. The soju will creep up on you and you will be hammered before you realize it
A friend and I decided to grab dinner here on a Tuesday night. We went around 6:30 pm and were seated promptly. As the night went on, the place began to fill up, but there was never a wait. We shared the Grilled Beehive Cut Porkbelly and the Spicy Sausage Casserole (budae jjigae). The porkbelly was very standard, with bite sized pieces of grilled porkbelly, onions, scallions, and mushrooms that came out on a hot plate. While the budae jjigae was good, I prefer the taste of the one they serve at Poocha 32. Throughout the night, the servers were very attentive and friendly, something I can't say about other restaurants in Ktown. + Free rice before 8pm.
Not bad for 1차
One of the best hangout place in K-town. Don't miss it!
It's actually easy to miss this place but it's worth finding. Great food and atmosphere. Lovely staff too.
Very interesting place. Note that my review is only based on the drinks..their drinks menu is pretty specific. They specialize in Sojus. They have beers and some Korean wines as well in their menu. This place has a nice airy decor.. we got this coconut soju..and it was super great. It had like real coconut water. A must do drink in the summer I would say.
My group and I were repeat customers as we really liked the food and ambiance here. On the last occasion, however, we (a group of 5) were given a round table with stools (no backrest), so we politely asked if we could be re-seated elsewhere, whereupon an obviously displeased waiter gave us a corner table at the back that could comfortably seat 4. We took it upon ourselves to move an adjacent small table toward our section to accommodate our group, but then the same surly waiter came back to say we couldn't have that table. In other words he wanted the five of us to squeeze ourselves into 4 seating spaces. We left the place before at least two of my companions could make a scene. It wasn't worth it, I told them. (On the way out, my wife told me that the same waiter told her we couldn't have the table for 6 with high chairs by the window either -- no RESERVED sign there whatsoever, and the entire floor more than half empty -- as that table has a $300-spend minimum, insinuating so indelicately that we couldn't afford that bill! Needless to say, my wife tried to calm herself down as we had a visiting guest with us.) Besides, there were many other pleasant places to enjoy in Koreatown, and enjoy them we did!
Fun location to drink and make friends. We came here on a Saturday night and it was packed! Some how we were able to sit down immediately. The drinks are on the pricey side along with the food, but we enjoyed the quality of the cocktails and the food. It's a real fun atmosphere, especially when it is someone's birthday (they go all out!). The only thing that was more an inconvenience was that they only accept cash or American Express credit card (I am told AmEx has some weird tax rules that probably are in favor of the bar/restaurant). Either way, we had a great time, enjoyed the drinks and the food, and even made a few friends
It's just culture shock after culture shock in a good way. Environment. Food. Service. Even the menu template is outstanding.
Really cool place and atmosphere. And as the name shows, they specialize in different types and flavors of soju.
Hidden on the corner of the steeet. You will need to enter a building with no signs and either walk upstairs or take the elevator to go to Soju Haus. The drinks were good and the ambiance was fun. The Happy birthday song is pretty great so if you are there for a birthday, let them know.
Food is good but not the traditional Korean food I had imagined. Place is way too noisy even for an Asian restaurant.
The fall-off-the-bone meat and ice-cold soju is possibly the best combo ever!!
Good quality food and relaxing environment, but they only accept cash or American Express.
It has unique atmosphere and usually crowded and loud in noise. It's hard to have a conversation. Food is ok.
Cash only but with ATM on site with around $2 fee. Need ID. Very busy place with great food and variety alcohol selections. Menu items are different if you visit in different day of week. Steamed pork feet taste very good.
Service sucked. Food was good. Drinks were ok
Ox tail was tender, good spicy peanut sauce with the pork belly - go before 8 for free rice and vegetables
Always good food, good times and most importantly great staff!
Cash and Amex only. Food is good. Pomegranate soju is a bit sweet. Would come back.
Great Korean food and atmosphere. Music is great as well.
My fav restaurant in NYC. You have to tell them to make it spicy otherwise they won't, if you're really serious ask for "Korean Spicy". The drinks are good, service is awesome. Go there for your bday.
A great place to have a drink while chatting with friends. So I often go to K-town. The snacks are also Korean flavor and the atmosphere is full of vitality. See you often.
Theatricality of Soju and BBQ. Decent for entertaining a crowd in town, but not your staple Korean grub. Food is okay for its price.
Normal food, the taste is plain, except for the grilled ox tail -- it's good.
Been here few times with worker and friends the staff there is super friendly Warm and welcome would differently go back. Food also delicious as well.
So, I loved the food and the place was amazing (the lighting is
Probably the most famous Korean bar or soju house in K-town in NYC. Always crowded with young age group of 20’s but if you go early, say 6 or 7 o’clock you will definitely see an older crowd like 30 to 40s. The food? What can I say, it’s the ambiance and the crowd that dwarfs everything else, but not bad at all. Whatever your age group, select the right timing!
Great food and extensive soju selection. Fills up pretty quickly so I recommend going on the early side.
We had a great time and the staff was really friendly and accommodating. We had a pretty large group that filtered in slow but the staff were really cool. Great food will definitely be coming back as a smaller group to try and enjoy more of the food.
Such a fun place. Very clean. Atmosphere is really cool. Food is real good. I like their chicken gizzard. Good service.
Decent place to find Korean bar food with Korean vibe. The food was great and service also good during my visit so i had a wonderful time.
Good Korean eats & drinking spot !
Phone was repaired to optimal quality.
Excellent selection with a large number of options of soju and other beverages. I loved the friendly staff who bring various Korean food as snacks to the table.
Good food & atmosphere. A bit strange that they only take Amex or Cash.
Clean and lively Korean style pub. Expect a long wait on Friday evenings. The servers are young and the most guests are too. Get your Amex ready! Visa and MC not honored here. Edit: Must try, 해물누룽지탕 here!
The main Star is the Soju. They have a vast amount and different flavors to cater to everyone's palate. You're bound to find one you'll enjoy. The food is the accent to the Soju. I ordered the grilled beehive porkbelly. It was tougher than I was used to. That surprised me, not in a good way. They also served it with oyster King mushrooms. They were very chewy as well. I've had better elsewhere. I also ordered oxtails. Very tasty but sliced thinner than I'd like. The portion was good enough for two as an appetizer. I would have appreciated more vegetables to accompany this dish. The service was excellent.
A slightly calmer and more relaxed ambiance compared to its rambunctious upstairs neighbor Third Floor. It's hip without being overly stuffy. More of a lounge atmosphere and better for alcohol and bites rather than a full meal but they have the standard Korean fare if looking for more substantial food. Makkeoli is served in delightful copper tin teapots and the Bo Ssam melts in your mouth. The stews were mediocre and pancake fine but the Bo Ssam was really memorable. Cash and Amex only!
Busy but great for dinner with friends on a weekend
been living in nyc for a little over a year now and this is still my fav place for food and drinks 20/10. incredible.
Food is very tasty
Good food ! Good vide ! :) soju
Great food and atmosphere. So many different kind of drink. Love it.
Fantastic food
Not the best Korean food but it's good, not too expensive split between a group and very quick.
The spicy pork feet was to die for. Delicious!!! The braised pork ribs with Kimchi was also very delicious.
Very modern interior, great light, good for large parties or couples. Food is great too!
This place has solid food options and great happy hour deals. The soju is of course the real reason for a visit. They only accept cash or American Express. Expect midtown prices.
Ice beer!
A bit unique for my tastes but great views and a killer selection.
A nice place for group celebrations. Nice food and nice service.
Soju Haus is always a good spot to hangout and have a drink with friends and colleagues. The atmosphere is inviting and the food is comforting Korean food but trendy as well! Soju is what they do best here.
My favorite restaurant in NYC. Great servers, great menu, great atmosphere. I always have a wonderful time and, even though the items might seem kind of pricey at first glance, the portions are definitely meant for sharing and I have never spent more than $40 on food PLUS drinks. Don't hesitate to try it out if you're interested!
Romantic and fun atmosphere. Soju is great here.
the price is decent. we went with 7 people and ordered the most expensive things in the menu and couldn't even finish. including tips, it was $50 per person. oysters are cheap blue points for $1. oyster pancake wasn't good. stew wasn't very good. other thing were surprisedly different and good.
Giving this place a 4 because they definitely discriminate - I am white, not Asian - and have definitely been told a longer wait time for a table than Asians who arrived after my party......multiple times. Other than that, it is a great vibe, lots of fun, dark lounge atmosphere. Haven’t eaten here, only come for drinks after a regular dinner in Ktown, but if you want a fun place, this is it.
Wow!! My favorite Korean bar. I made a wonderful night. Thank you.
Always a good time with food and drinks
Their lemon mint soju cocktail is a great summer drink. Great decor
I really want to like this place, but they only take AMEX and cash. Beer: I love their Kirin beer with the soft froth on top. Food: Chicken Gizzard, Tofu Kimchi, and all their Tangs are good. Also like their side dish of Seaweed Rice Ball. Haven't been here for a while, but they also used to have different happy hour deal each day
Came here for drinks after dinner so didn't get a chance to try their food. But everything looked good from other tables ordered. Really nice and chill spot to go with friends. Staff were all really friendly and helpful.
My favorite place to hang out with my girls
Great service... I want to give it a 5 star, but here is why... I came here with my white friend and I am Chinese. We got there pretty early. They seated us by the windows near a corner. There wasn't a lot of people during that time, but anyways as the crowds started coming in, I hear chatter but when I turn to look there was no one in sight but us. Later on, we asked for the check and then I went to the bathroom, which is at the far end of the other side. It was fully packed with Koreans. There was not one seat left empty. I find it very bizarre. Not sure if it was a ethnic thing, but we weren't too pleased.
Soondae bokkum is great! It is spicy and has rice cakes in it. Clear clam soup was good. Chicken gizzard was interesting and chewy. Mediocre: budae jigae
excellent food! chicken gizzard, spicy pork and squid, soju, and the seaweed rice balls are the best combo!
Delish :)
Food is pretty good, interesting options. Decent selection of soju, few cocktails.
Horrible experience at this place. Came here with a group of 6 people. 1. Our drink orders got messed up twice, the cocktail served in a coconut was leaking and we politely asked for it to be changed. The server did it once and then refused to do it for the next round of drinks, even though it was probably the bartenders error. 2. Our food orders came in 5 minute intervals, almost as if they were being made one at a time. By the time we got our last dish, the first one was stone cold. 3. They refused to accept MasterCard/Visa and we had to pay cash instead. With such poor service I left a dollar in coins as a tip. The server handed the change back saying either you give me 18% or more or nothing. I got irritated and took it all away. He followed me out to announce to the patrons in the hallway that I didn’t tip, hoping that I’d give him some money after being embarrassed. I don’t think I will ever recommend this place to anyone, ever.
Apple flavored Soju and the free seaweed rice balls were memorable. Great for groups, loud, fun atmosphere and they will play a Happy birthday song and give free beer to the birthday person. Will come again!
It's one of my favorite places in Ktown. I love the food and the vibe here. Spicy chicken stew and the clear clam soup are must-have. However they only accept cash and Amex so be prepared.
My fave spot in Ktown by far. Quality food and drinks for great prices. Portions are definitely made to share so order wisely and you'll never spend too much on food and drinks.
Great atmosphere , so cute, Great service, but my meal tasted like chopped hot dog mixed with bbq. Pretty sure I cooked Better things when I was 5 years old!
Great place but no the best korean food.
Awesome food, drinks, and vibe
Good food but pricey.
Awesome. Try the friendship drink.
A hidden gem not to be missed! We ordered five dishes and all of them were great. Book ahead of time.
The DJ was solid and the place was not overly crowded or astronomically expensive.
Great place for soju
We looking vegan food there but they dont make it .
Cucumber soju, lemon soju, all of their sojus are amazing. The service is slow though, so order up when you eventually get someone's attention.
Soju Haus serves traditional Korean bar food that's significantly better than the other offerings around K-town. Their soju selection is ok, but gets the job done. The vibe and atmosphere here, however, are my favorite parts. This place is always full and lively, with good service and friendly waiters/waitresses. Follow these steps to have a great time here: *Bring a group of friends, preferably include someone that speaks Korean. *Order the following: Sizzling Bulgogi, Stir Fried Spicy Mussel, Mixed Seafood Casserole and Korea Style Egg Omelet. *Split a couple bottles of soju to share. *Thank me later :)
Great ambience, great service, great drinks, ok food.
Delicious Korean food and drinks – the recent Korean-government sponsored foodie event was great!
Music extremely loud, almost concert level. 4000 kJ fat greasy chicken and horrible, almost nauseating coconut soju cocktails. We could see that they try to be hip and trendy, unfortunately they failed miserably....do not recommend.
Love the atmosphere and the tapas. If you are looking for a drinking spot in ktown this the place to visit!
This place is awesome. Great food and atmosphere. Had a ton of fun here.
Loved this place, the food was great and the waiters and waitresses are fantastic. It's a little hidden, so make sure you're checking the address when walking down the street.
amazing , everyone is so kind and the food is really awesome ❤️
Great food and good selection of Soju.
A korean restaurant hidden on a 2nd floor of a building with NO SIGN outside.Staff are generally unfriendly, food is nothing special.
Highly recommend if you wanna damage your eardrums. It noisy as hell. Decent food though.
Semi-hidden spot in K-Town, with great Korean bar food
Really nice food, we all love the oyster and pork foot!!!will come back again!!!
Overall, the vibe was good and the table was well served. As for the food, the clam soup and the egg roll is a must!
Service is not good. Food taste ok.
It is quite loud but the quality of th food is great.
Food is all right. Price is fair. Service is good. But it's pretty noisy.
My favourite Korean restaurant in NY! Very fun place, very good food and Soju, very cheap...
Place is nice and big. The food portion is pretty big and taste alright. Do not get the coconut soju not worth. Place don't accept credit card.
We ordered braised pork rib with kimchi and spicy pork feet. They were so good!!
Good food, decent prices.
Mixed feelings. Food's good and decent. Price is whatever. Service can be hit or miss when it gets super busy. I think it's a hipstery/chill place overall, but maybe the price/service got to me after all. Would still drop by whenever I'm in the area though.
Great scene. Interesting drinks
Over priced soju but ur in Manhattan
Hot as hell in there. I didn't enjoy a single minute in there.
Cute, modestly big enough space with a great atmosphere. They have this slight industrial vibe decor going on. They ahve daily specials so look out for those. They're all really good selections too. They're not trying to get rid of the cheap stuff. I ordered the pork sausage casserole and the grape soju. They're both delicious and I recommend both.
The wait staff was attentive and caring of our party our entire time there. The ambiance is nice and fun for small groups and the staff are great at ensuring that your foods are free of any allergens you may have.
It's spacious and great for groups. The soju is strong but sweet. The pork belly is tender but has a nice chew and not terribly fatty. The squid was cooked perfectly. They bring you rice with little fish in it. The service is friendly and not overbearing. It's a wonderful place to grab some food and drinks. It does get busier as the night goes on but worth it. It's also open late which is always a plus.
The food was great and the service was good once it got going. The wait seemed shorter if you are Korean which i thought was a little odd. And they accept only cash and Amex. Overall it was a fun experience but I'm not sure i would go back without a friend who is Korean.
The environment is great and the food was good. It's debatable if it's worth the price.
As the name suggests, this is a Korean place known for Soju and Soju cocktails. Excellent cocktails. As for food, great for people who love sea food as they have most items with some sea food in it. There are a couple of pork and chicken dishes too. Am not too fond of squids and octopus, so the server just got me grilled pork belly. It was excellent. The lime Soju is amazing and the cucumber Soju is deadly strong - was nice but prefer the lime one.
Great food and great atmosphere. Also, phenomenal drink options
Excellent place. Good food and good vibe
Food and service was amazing
Why does the waitstaff constantly try to kick you out of your table that you waited sometimes over an hour for? Our waiter repeatedly asked us if we wanted to order more even when we clearly had food and alcohol. After asking a few times he even said, " We have a lot of ppl waiting for a table." Yea I know, I was one of them. I waited patiently for my table, I should be able to enjoy my time here.
Excellent variety of Korean selections and the drinks are strong.
Great Korean dinner/late-night joint in NYC. Service is friendly and efficient even during peak times. Though they only accept cash or Amex, they do have an ATM within the establishment so you don't have to trek back out to the elements. The dish portions (think tapas sized) are just right for sharing, whether in small to large groups. Pancake sampler, various grilled meats, spicy rice cakes, and soups are solid picks. They have a couple large communal tables near the entrance, great for big parties.
convivial with well-trained servers. The decor is clean and contemporary. Good selection of flavoured soju and well-prepared drinking foods that are not overly spiced.
Ok don’t freak out about the food here being expensive! Most of the orders are for sharing! So is the soju cocktails! I normally only order one big pot of this kimchi and meat pot with my girlfriend and it fills you up. They also have rice with anchovies so I’d becareful of ordering the rice if you do not like that.
Love coming here w friends and drinking. I don’t bother w the food tho.
I love all the food I ordered. So yummy!!
I think I found my new favorite late night place in Ktown! My group came here around midnight to find the place packed. There are plenty of tables, the decor is modern, and the ambiance is nice. We got our IDs checked at the door and then were quickly seated. We ordered the budae jigae (army stew) for the table to share. The portion was a good amount for a group of three to share and the price of about $23 was cheaper than normal. They also gave a plate of banchan of cucumbers and mung bean jelly, which was just as delicious as the stew. I will definitely be back to try the bbq chicken with cheese!
Great little Korean restaurant with unique soju flavors. The seafood soup, BBQ chicken and cheese, spicy rice cake and fried squid dishes were very good.
Nice chill place to get some soju. Gets pretty packed on weekend so i'd suggest you get there earlier in the evening.
Decent place to find Korean bar food with Korean vibe. As you can tell from their name, soju is their specialty by having various kind of soju and cocktails. They have specials from Mon-Wed with discounted soju and food. Watch out for post 8pm crowd. you may need to wait for 45+ mins depending on the day.
Good Korean Food and drinks. One of the cleanest bar in Ktown.
Too good. My friend and I finish all dishes. Highly recommend.
Came here on a Friday night for a friend's birthday celebration. Was a bit busy so it took a while for the servers to get our order, but we were seated pretty quickly with reservations.
The Korean restaurant I go most frequently in NYC, you must try rice wine+soju+sprite here
Too loud. We couldn’t hear each other even though we sat together in a *small* table. And I still don’t get why they accept only AMEX card. Pretty good foods and interiors, but I might avoid going here.
Food is so good but not so much for the flavored soju. I was recommended here, it's on the 2nd floor of a building on 5th ave, never thought that it's a restaurant there. During the weekday it's not as crowded. See the pic for the food, but they are all delicious!
Popular Korean restaurant/bar. Food is amazing here! Service has always been superb.
I agree with another reviewer, it's hard to find! Having said that I am really glad that we found it! The food is spicy with strong flavour. We had the chicken gizzard, yum! The clam soup was full of flavour! The porkbelly though was a bit dry, however, the vegetables with sausages was delicious! Over all, food was great, service was fine but a little bit noisy.
one of the better bars in Ktown
It was an amazing experience
Great food and drinks! Hard to get a table.
Great Korean drinking food beautifully presented, and great service. The soju cocktails were a little average, and the frosted beers were novel but a little unusual. Would definitely return here, good for a large group (with a booking) or smaller tables. Has some of the largest oysters I've ever seen O_O
Great selections on beer and liquor.
The host was terribly rude. He told us the wait would be about a half hour. So, we put our name and a phone number in and was informed that we'd get a text when our table was ready. We waited the half hour, saw no text, and double checked the status of our table. Apparently they had texted us, saw no response, and skipped to the next person in line. The host told us to give him about 10 minutes and we would be next. After another 30 minutes (and seeing many parties that arrived after us being seated first) of waiting and a couple more inquiries with the rude host, who was flat out ignoring us, we were seated. Other than that our waitress was amazing! And we were able to enjoy the rest of the night.
Top Korean food
Perfect place for night-life. Plain and simple soju in a place modeled after typical small restaurants in Korea. Keep in mind that it offers unlimited rice before 8 P.M. I recommend the Coconut Soju!
Fun restaurant. Great drinks.
You could never go wrong here. Come for the food and stay for the soju!
Good food and fast service
I REALLY loved this place! If you worked/lived in the neighborhood, you could easily miss it. Take the stairs or the elevator, in an unassuming building, up and into a sharp looking Korean Restaurant & Bar. It's so fly... (Do the cool kids still use that phrase?). Back to the experience, we stopped by after having had a big dinner elsewhere. We just wanted some Soju to douse the food with. The waitress was so pleasant and the restaurant even sent over a Korean Pancake and some Kimchi on the side, all complimentary. When have you ever gotten Korean Pancakes on the house? I'll be coming back with another group and we're doing dinner and Soju. I strongly suggest you do the same!
Our Tuesday at Soju Haus was a blast. Thanks for its Korean-Style Spicy Chicken Stew. For three days we had our “rice-free” as we joked each other, but the heartwarming and spicy chicken stew is simply irresistible, thus we asked for a steaming rice. We considered ourselves lucky since it is only limited , and thanks to our friend who called for reservation. We got what we were looking for: homemade cuisine.
It is a bar with good foods. I solely came here for the food, I love the beef intestine soup. Expect long wait Friday night. $1 Oyster on Wednesday.
The food is very good and tasty. I am new to Korean food so the server was very patient and understanding. I explained to her what I liked and she gave amazing suggestions. Nice view also
The spicy chicken with cheese is addictive. alway very loud though.
The Apple flavored Soju is sooo good. Service was nice. The place has good view. It's a little hard to find, as it doesn't have clear sign outside. Food is OK. I ordered spicy chicken with Cheese. It was a little too sweet.
