Served sizzling hot and seasoned perfectly, the food here is absolutely delicious. Great quality and generous serving size for the price. Kind staff and convenient location. I love the noodles here! They’re also very accommodating to vegetarians (they offer a water broth as opposed to a chicken broth).

went there 3 times so far, last time i was there, service was really slow. server did not come to ask if i want more side dishes, took forever to refill water. tofu soup came out mins before rice... i felt like my table was just left out for the entire time. hopefully, this was one time hiccup

I loved this place! My girlfriend and I had never been to a Korean restaurant before. The staff was friendly, kind, and extremely helpful in assisting us in ordering and instructing us how to mix in spices and foods to our orders. Our food was spicy and delicous! They answered all of our questions, as well! I do not live near by, but I would definitely go back if I ever go back to the area.

Been to all of the So Gong Dongs except for this one. We decided to try it Saturday. What a gem! We were going to be seated by the manager but a nice waitress intercepted us and took us to the window side. We were seated on the far corner and what a view of the Manhattan Skyline. THe food was good but the service was over the top. From the main waitress to the water amigo it was great. There was no "territory". Everyone was on the same page of making the customers happy. The prices seemed lower compared to the other tofu places I've been to in Jersey. I would recommend it!

This was my second time here and I absolutely love it to fulfill my Korean food cravings. This time I ordered their seafood and beef tofu ramen with mild spiciness. It was delicious and their fair portions will leave you with food coma in your seat! I also ordered their seafood scallion pancakes because why not?! Another great dish! The restaurant is located on the Hudson River water front in Edgewater. There's in door and outdoor seating. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. The first time I went I actually had a birthday dinner and they were accommodating then as well. Obviously you'll need to call ahead to reserve for big groups. Since I had about 10 people which would take up 3 tables, they were strict on everyone arriving on time or else the tables would be given away. But overall, a great restaurant to check out in Edgewater. Best part: prices are fair!

Some of the best tofu soup I've ever had. I live in LA and I sometimes think about going to New Jersey to have more tofu soup. I came here to eat after a day at Sojo Spa Club and that day was one of the best days of my life. it's the simple things in life like tofu soup

The food is healthy and of the highest quality. It will rival any of the soon dubu houses in the city. The kalbi is fantastic and you won’t smell like you sat in a grilling tent for hours because they cook it in the back. They take reservations and the view is unbeatable. Go there on a summer weeknight and take in the cityscape. From the GWB, St. John’s Catherdral, Grant’s Tomb, all the way down to Freedom tower, a great backdrop to a delicious dining experience.

I've been there twice. The food wasn't bad but the staff was extremely rude. Got there at 9:15 ( sign says open till 10:30), waiter said the kitchen is closing soon so we had to put in our order fast . I can unstated that. He never came back to the table to check in with us .But as soon as 10:00 pm hit he came back with the check mid meal and said he wants to close out the register . The staff even went as far as to rase the radio to a deafening level where the speakers were going to pop to , to shoe out the customers at 10:15 . I'll never eat here again

I've found myself craving Korean soup from this restaurant quite often. I get their beef stew Yukgaejang level 4 spicy and it is amazing. The stew is slow simmered with home made tofu, mushrooms, scallions, and other veggies. Served with rice or noodles. It is enough for 2 people. They serve 6 starters with your meal. Fish cakes, seaweed, sprouts, turnips, kimchi and pickled cucumber. The chicken version is good too. Kimchi pancakes are greasy but taste great. Great value for money and a very friendly staff.

Great, consistent Korean food in Edgewater. The service is quick and courteous and they have a nice range of options for everyone. The barbecue is great, as well as the seafood pancake, bibimbap, and ddukboki, a spicy Korean street food classic that's great after a couple of beers.

Excellent service towards specific dietary preferences. We were ordering a vegan dish for someone and asked if the dish we ordered had any fish oil/flavoring or if it had any bonito flakes and she confirmed that it didn't. When she gave us the side dishes, she told us which ones were vegan and which ones were not. Very patient, helpful and knowledgeable service.

Prices are close to New York City prices, but they have really great service. At most Korean spots nowadays, asking for extra banchan is like you're asking for a kidney. But not at So Gong Dong. As soon as they see one of your banchan dishes empty, they'll come over and ask if you'd like a refill. And they're really good. They manage to keep the cucumber kimchi crunchy. But my fave is probably the fish cake. I think i filled up on these dishes before the mains came out. For the mains, we ordered three short ribs to share amongst five people, and I shared a tofu soup with my BF. Everything was great. I really liked that they didn't bring all three short ribs out at once, but instead, noticed we were running low and would bring out the next one, to keep it sizzling hot. Minus a star because I was SUPER thirsty after, like I had been trekking through the dessert for three days. But dessert parch aside, I would still come back.

I really love coming to their edgewater location and ordering dumplings, bbq ribs, their amazing tofu soups and japchae. I come bi-weekly and I love that it is BYOB. Definitely great prices for being on the Hudson River and Edgewater.

Hmm... At first, the decor, the view, and the friendly servers draw you in. These are their best features. But the food quality is poor overall. The tofu soup is good not great, but everything else is neither tasty nor fresh, especially the seafood pancakes! They even smell bad, clearly because the seafood ingredients are not fresh! One of my guests got really sick from eating it and she has an iron stomach and never gets sick. The BBQ kalbi is not very good either in quality nor taste. BCD in Fort Lee is far better in all aspects of food taste and quality. Won't be back!

Keep going back when in the area. Korean comfort food for us. We love the kalbi and tofu soup (soon dobu). Decently priced considering the area and food portion. Not too long of a wait for food even when they are extremely busy. Place is also very clean. Staff is helpful and friendly. Highly recommend to those who love Korean food and/or those who would like to try. Authentic taste; however not every dish is super spicy (which can be a turn off for some).
