So convenient!

Felt like we were being rushed at first so we got a little annoyed. As it turned out, they were not trying to rush us but instead were just being really attentive. It was a great meal, accompanied by great service. Would recommend.

We had an extraordinary in this spot. We loved the awesome atmosphere and the menu. The waiters were very attentive. I am glad we ultimately managed to try this place.

Food was excellent! The tofu stew (their specialty) was so soft and silky. I wished I didn't order it in ramen so I could savor the tofu on it's own, next time! Service was a little chaotic. (took several mins and 3 requests for my husband to get a fork so he could eat...) Will definitely go back in month or so when they've settled into a groove.

Good food, reasonable price and friendly service

Absolutely a place worth trying, the food is fantastic and fresh, the pricing is reasonable and it is consistently neat in here. Kudos.

Food was very good as well as the portion size. The staff was probably trying to be attentive, but it made me feel rushed.

After we ate dinner at the restaurant on Dec. 15 (see below), I returned to So Gong Dong today to order takeout, and asked the man at the register (who took my order) for extra panchan or side dishes that are served with Korean Tofu Soup and other entrees. I ordered two tofu soups and a Seafood Pancake (a total of $39.42). The wait was long, about 25 minutes, and when my order was finally ready, the man at the register said, I gave you extra panchan. But when I got home, there were only a total of four containers of cucumber and cabbage kimchi in the bag. The restaurant serves six free side dishes and replenishes them if you ask, so giving a takeout customer so little is a real disservice. I also didn't receive an itemized bill. While I was waiting for my order, I noticed how fast the servers and other staff were moving, even though the restaurant wasn't full. Maybe, the place doesn't have enough staff to keep up with orders. The kitchen has only one door, but miraculously there were no collisions. From our Dec. 15 visit: Open less than a month, this Korean restaurant has proven too popular. Although I believe So Gong Dong in Hackensack takes reservations, we saw more than 15 people standing inside the restaurant waiting for a table on the Saturday night 3 of us ate there. We arrived at 5 p.m. and the restaurant filled up quickly; service became more rushed and when we got the check there was an error of about $20 in the restaurant's favor; I caught it. When I wanted to take home what was left of my soft tofu and noodle dish, the container dropped at the table was too small, and food spilled over. It's a shame, because food preparation here is better than the original, So Gong Dong in Palisades Park, which we patronized for more than 10 years. Six complimentary side dishes or panchan to share are served with entrees, and it took some doing to get the servers to give us a second set of the panchan. By the time we left, the noise and crowding detracted from our meal, and I'm not sure I would go back for dinner again. The restaurant doesn't deliver so take-out or lunch may be our only options.

On this day I just picked up my order to go. As we got home my uncle realized that the change seemed incorrect. So he decided to call them back, but the lady who picked up the phone kept saying "kitchen closed kitchen closed" when he was trying to explain that we just picked up the order and we needed to ask them a question. Of course she kept repeating the same thing, so my uncle hung up and decided that I call them back. The lady then again picked up the phone and I just said the same thing that I had some questions on my order, she had a bad atitude and didnt even answer me. Instead she huffed and handed to phone to the man in the front. I then explained again and he replied that he will look for my order, as I was waiting I heard him talking to his coworker in korean and he had the audacity to call me stupid. If this is the way they treat their customers like this when they are asking a simple question and trash talking them just because we're not korean and "dont" understand them, then this is an issue. I found this extremely rude and no one should treat their customers this way.

Good tasting food. Presentation was great, as well. Inspite of them being busy we were seated quickly; a very welcoming & relaxed atmosphere.

Really authentic Korean hot pots and side dishes here. You know it's authentic when you see Korean people dining in a Korean restaurant. I usually get the tofu hotpot with ramen. They serve various pickled vegetables prior to the meal with an uncanny level of detail for your dining experience. For example, the metal soup spoons heads are individually wrapped in paper, so you know that you are getting a clean utensil to use each time. You can get a Korean hot pot served on a scorching hot stone, complete with a whole, raw egg to crack into the soup and cook at your leisure. The bibimbap is always a great choice and is served on a hot stone plate as well. The rice on the bottom gets a bit crispy and stays hot the entire meal. Really good food and a great dining experience.

Came here for dinner for the 1st time. We asked the server questions, but after several visits to our table she seemed to lose patience. It looked like she was pressuring us to order as quickly as possible. My cousin has lung cancer and cannot speak loudly. He asked a question about white fish, but she didn't feel like answering him and turned away and walked across the room to the other side. All of a sudden a different server appeared to help us. Not sure if the 1st server was discriminating us since we're not Korean or she was just tired of answering questions about food. Either way, her service attitude was a bad reflection on this restaurant (but she was still given a generous tip). The food was decent.

Hot tofu soup. Reasonable price, good for both lunch and dinner. Kind staffs.

First month opening, food has improved. More dishes on the menu than when it was located in fort Lee. There are less side dishes than BCD in fort Lee. However, this is the first Korean tofu soup restaurant in this area. It's Saturday after black Friday, plus it's right by 99 Ranch market, people kept coming into the store. Need more food servers to keep the floor going. Trivia thing , but you might want to double check your Credit card receipt to make sure it's yours. They can't find mine for some reason. I'm sure it'll get better as more servers joining weekend operations.

My wife and I were so excited that an SGD Dubu was opening up in our town of Hackensack. But we were a bit disappointed. We stopped by to eat on a Friday evening after work. The service here is lackluster, they weren't quite ready for prime time. The establishment was busy, but not full. My wife and I had to constantly ask different servers for items that we needed; e.g., sugar, fork, etc over and over. The food was very good though, we loved it all. My wife got the Spicy Tofu Seafood Stew and I got the Beef Short Ribs. Her stew was just the right amount of spiciness, tender tofu and plenty of seafood. My beef was full of flavor & tender. We'll probably go back and try other items on their menu and hopefully they'll have straightened out by then.

I was there yesterday with my family. Food is good, price is right, and people are nice. But I felt the staffs were not yet organized. They brought wrong orders to our table and brought our food to another table.

Great place to visit if you're in the mood for Korean food. Although I love what they have to offer (Bulgogi, Kalbi), it would be nice if they had more selection.

Ate in this restaurant today. I don’t like the service. We waited for 15 minutes for table and after we are seated, the other table beside us who are Korean , the server took order first. So it mean if you are not Korean you will wait. I was planning not to give a tip because I was not satisfied but they forced you to give

Beware of MSG. Food tastes great but tofu soup and side dishes such as bean sprouts has MSG. This bothers some people but not others. Patrons be aware.
