Small, quaint, romantic and not too expensive but management takes care of its patron. I had an appetizer that was not as good as it was made out to be by the server. Management did the right thing by removing the charge. I'm impressed and you should be too! BYOB, plan your reservation very early, especially for a Saturday night as they book very quickly.

Flawless dinner. Everything we ordered was superbly prepared. Duck, crab cakes, and sirloin were all great. Desserts and appetizers were excellent as well. Not inexpensive, but a terrific place for a celebratory meal.

This was our 3rd time back and again started out with the 6 course tasting menu....we had been previously blown away the two previous visits but this time utterly disappointed with it. We stopped around half way through it and offered to pay for it but decided to order an entree instead of proceeding with the tasting menu. It was your basic if steak and truffle fries and grilled colossal shrimp.?..with choice of 2 sauces. Very good but very basic as was the chocolate lava cake. I was really looking forward to this meal but left there being bewilderingly disappointed.

Went there for my 42nd anniversary July 10th. The waiter kept pushing the sliced steak special. I was going to order the veal chop special but the waiter said the steak was much better and that the veal chop was his second choice. The waiter must have been told to push the steak he said it beat any steak house. I gave in and ordered the steak special. I ordered the steak medium rare it came medium well. when the check came i realized why he was pushing the steak $69.00. What a rip off. At best the steak was barely average. Everything else was very good. We are not new to the Saddle River Inn and we know the prices are high end but this was at most robbery and at best insulting, Shame on them.

Well worth the money. The place has a tasty 4-6 course option which is fun And let's you try alot under the chefs recommendation but even just ordering an appetizer and entree the food is delicious. The flavors are always uniquely blended and very palatable. The service is prompt and great, prices aren't as bad as those in the city and the food is just as good if not better! Can't wait to go back!

It is a very old BARN and has been home to many restauranteers .. NOW it is to be on top of my list for DINNER .. a romantic place for dining for Birthdays Weddings Anniverseraries Holidays and just any old day of the week .. MY HOPE is you can stop here to eat and view the surroundings .. absolutely beautiful .. very hard to see from the road so keep your eyes open and maps on so you don't miss it .. I love this place! My husband and I had the 4 course tasting menu. The Chef gave us the choice to have two separate sets so in total we sampled 4 different appetizers, 2 different main courses and 2 different desserts, Everything was outstanding, but the highlight of the evening was the scallops! They just melted in your mouth. The place, the service and the food were amazing. We will definitely go back!

Service and food were both excellent. It's very pricey but I would come back for special occasions. Atmosphere is rustic and overall enjoyable. Food was spot on, the appetizers were a little small but yummy. The entree were a good size. The dessert were small and a little too fancy to really hit the sweet tooth.

A charming, romantic BYO restaurant with seasonal menus and superior wait staff. Executive Chef and owner Jamie Knott's preparations, flavors, and presentation are exceptionally good. Truly a fine dining experience. Must reserve through Open Table with dates opening one month in advance. If you enjoy Foie Gras as I do, Jamie's is outstanding and we order it every visit in addition to the Hamachi Tuna Carpaccio.

Walked in by myself. Although the host was more interested in what one of the waiters had to say he accommodated me with no reservation. I requested a glass of red wine. The waiter was nice but apparently they are in a dry county and you must bring your own wine. OK I ordered tea,I believed the waiter was being nice by bringing a bottle of white wine and said it was left over from a party. Then as the restaurant fills I see him pouring red wine in the glass of others!? When asked about it I just get a simple smile. Food.: ordered the escargot. they must have there own garden in the back because I tasted dirt on several bites. (no joke). For the main course I ordered lamb. It was cooked right, and tasted great but clearly small and not plated as well. (Broken lamb bone appeared as if I was getting leftovers). Will not return. I send a lot of my employees to a training center near by. I will suggest the same to them.

My wife and I went to Saddle River Inn this weekend for our 5 year Anniversary dinner. The ambience was well suited for a romantic dinner for two or special group night out. As we walked into the rustic dining area, we were told a little about the building's history and the vision of the restaurant - providing this type of detail enhances the dining experience especially for newcomers. Everything we had on the menu was delicious but the Tuna Carpaccio and Truffle Risotto stood out the most for us. Along with the cuisine, we were most impressed by the service. Anthony and the staff were excellent. They didn't miss a beat and really made the entire experience memorable. I have been fortunate enough to visit many renowned restaurants in Manhattan and abroad - our dinner at Saddle River Inn is certainly comparable. We will be back soon.

I had one of the most disappointing New Years Eve dinners this past weekend. The restaurant never made us feel welcome, the staff was young and not trained, and the manager was all over the place. We brought over $1,000 worth of wine to have it be fumbled around... Not worth the rating it gets imo.

Anthony, the maitre'd was incredibly welcoming and the service followed suit. The food was excellent with portions on the smallish side, but packed with flavor. Ambience is unique and my wife and I enjoyed our upstairs seat overlooking the Saddle River, imagine that?! Great experience and will be back!
