You will be able to see the information of people who are using the services of Pooja Exotic Indian Cuisine (Restaurant) in New Jersey area.
As of day the firm gets a rating of 4.0 stars out of 5 and that rating has been calculated on 483 reviews.
As you can see its rating is quite positive, and it's founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the valuation is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to write feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of Indian restaurant.
Best restaurant in town for indian food. Beautiful ambiance, tasty food and great staff
Good buffet except few items
Got me into Indian food the first time. No Indian food elsewhere has ever tasted as good. Must try!
Not a typical food place for South Indians. Flavors are not consistent. Interior is simple n they r always under staffed. Food is just like something to eat type - never enjoyed any dish here. Meh place for me
Website and sign they place outside restaurant both state they have a dinner buffet 6 nights a week. FYI they only have a dinner buffet on Wednesdays, apparently.
Visited this exotic place changed their ambience with a new management and chef recently. Piping hot dishes - all fresh and yummy. Buffet lunch was loaded with 15 items from starters to dessert. Some of the dishes were unique and flavorful. If you work or live around Somerset- this place is a must visit!!
One of my favorite places to eat in the area. Has a great buffet for lunch, and a great menu. Recently they have made some updates to the dining area, looks good.
Biryani was awful. It seemed like some curry was mixed in white rice.
Not only do they serve good food, they also take party orders like birthdays, graduations, anniversaries and even wedding. Had their food at one of my friend’s wedding. It was great.
Thanks a lot for the chicken dishes. All the dishes are special and need special mention. I hope you guys will continue with the task in the days to come.
Thanks a lot for the vegetable Manchurian. The taste is awesome and the aromatic herbs and spices being used needs special note of thanks. Keep up the good work.
Best Indian food that I ever had! Service was excellent and food was amazing. I am from out of town and stayed in Somerset for one night. Decided to eat here and was SO impressed! They were so kind and spot on with service.
Friends its a worst indian restaurant. Avoid this place. Food quality is very very cheap. They are not serving fresh food here and all the food is stale food. I visited them yesterday night with my family and we all got loose motions and 2000 $ medical bill. Our doctor told us today that food in pooja restaurant was prepared more than 2 weeks and they refrigerated that. Non Veg was very bad quality. If you really want to go to hospital then only eat food here.
We have been dining at Pooja since we moved to Somerset in 1984. Every time we see a new Indian restaurant, we try it out, and every time we agree that Pooja is better. The food is always excellent, and you can order the spice level that is best for you. They have a very good and reasonably priced lunch buffet daily. The decor is refreshed periodically, so it is always welcoming. Very highly recommended for those who enjoy Indian cuisine.
Went with my friends for an evening out. We were a big party and ordered many food items. It was really impressive that they served the food on time. It was delicious and quality was good too. Highly recommend it.
My favourite Indian restaurant in NJ. All you can eat... cheap and good.
Great food and excellent service
I have recently visited Pooja Exotic Indian Cuisine and loved the food. The lunch buffet menu was quite sumptuous. I enjoyed both the main course and the desserts. Will be back soon.
Descent selection. Good quality food.
Good food, great service.
Amazing food good ambiance good prices good portion.
Love the food and their hospitality
Great food reasonably priced great vegetarian choices
Excellent food and service!!!! Must go!!!!
Definitely not like it used to be. They seem to push the buffet more than meals. The buffet has very few dishes with meat and since it wasn't that busy there is very little food in the buffet and it is not fresh and hot. The service is always good however sometimes a waiter does not understand English. But they're always giving new plates and filling your water and it is BYOB
Puri Bread, Cholle Chickpeas is So Good! My New Favorite!
I really love this restaurant for its delicious food.
Good food! But buffet dinner is not worth it. Stick to ala carte!
Delicious food. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean and wonderful atmosphere. New fav Indian restaurant.
I was pleasantly surprised to find Pooja. At first I was a little skeptical about the lunch buffet but I've grown to really like it! For $10 you get a good selection of food. I forget the name of the specific food item but its usually in the corner next to the red chicken; there is a vegetarian dish that literally tastes like buffalo chicken strips but its actually cauliflower I think. The garlic naan is also excellent. For me, the staff are always very pleasant, and there is an older gentlemen (Which I think is the manager) is always walking around and making sure your taken care of. Overall I recommend you try this place out because for $10 I would say it's very good!
Even-though I have read very good reviews here but personally I think they don’t serve authentic flavors of Indian cuisine. The food is bland. Most of the items in the buffet menu are same always.
One of my favorite Indian restaurants. Food is always excellent, service is good and prices r reasonable. There is usually a Groupon or Living Social coupon available.
Good cozy place for Indian food. The weekend buffet was good and decently priced. Place had good mix of veg and non-veg options.
I and my family went in to dine here last week. I was worried if they would serve any kid’s meal. But fortunately I found across the best kid’s combo here. My son enjoyed it to the core. Thanks a lot.
Superb restaurant and I enjoyed the delicious food.
This was honestly a good restaurant. Must try!!! The food was amazing!!
Very very good food .lamb chops & goat curry awesome
Poojas is my favorite restaurant for Indian cuisine. They never disappoint. I went to their lunch buffet and everything was delicious as always. The price is very reasonable.
Excellent value takeout or dine-in. Great naan, tamarind chutney ( I could drink the stuff), and a huge menu with lots of choices. The vegetable korma tastes too sugary; it should rely on vegetables for sweetness but both times we tried it tasted like strong added sugar with grease. Also, the breading on the pakora is usually a bit too thick and cakey. I wish I could give 4.5 because everything else is great and the prices are great too.
Used to be very good. My last visit had just one non-veg in their buffet. Food quality is good.
Great resturant and excellent prices. Loved the food and staff are so very friendly. The food is so good that I order "delivery" every 4 days. I order the non-veg "house special" and "vegetarian thali". And on some days, i go for the all you can eat buffet. I love it. Im sure you will too. If you can't make it on weekday due to busy life, try the buffet on the weekends, and bring the whole family. ** update** Also birthday party are a hit here. Reserve in advance. I cant believe that it took me soooo long to discover this place. I hope you will discover it too with my help. Their phone number is 732-220-0051
Above Average Food - Worth Giving a try. Decor is creative, well-done Service is average. They refused to deliver <2 miles (because the order was less than $35). But, the gentleman was more than happy to walk me through the next afternoon's buffet menu. Personal Recommendation - Daal Special - It was awesome.
Great little local place for traditional Indian
Good food good service fish pakora very good
Absolutely awesome Indian cuisine. Beautiful restaurant, excellent service and every item on the menu is excellent. Authentic Indian food - doesn’t get any better than this place
Bad quality food in buffet. Service is good that why I am giving them 2 star.
Great good, best service. I highly recommend this restaurant. I have been going there for over 15 years :-)
Very disappointing dining experience today. The main dish (bhindi masala) was brought first despite asking to bring it last. We waited for the appetizers while the main dish got cold! We insisted that the aloo paratha be made with wheat flour the way it is supposed to be, and not with maida (white flour), and that request was not granted either! Asked for "medium" hot because last time when we asked for "spicy", they made it inedible. Well, it came bland as ever. The waiter cannot understand English (most waiters there can't, it never used to be this way). We brought home the food, for it to be spiced up and then continued our meal at home. Very disappointed, I see other more recent reviews that also indicate that the food isn't the way it used to be. We won't be back for a very long time.
Worst exp ever
Mouth-watering food, great price and superb service make this restaurant my top favorite. Whenever I want to enjoy Indian cuisine, I visit the restaurant. They never disappoint me.
We used them to cater our party last year and the food was great! I've had both the buffet and the sit down dinner...and both were equally impressive- although the buffet obviously a better value for your money. The thali special is HUGE!! It's also very delicious! You will gain a few pounds with that one! :) The owner is Punjabi and very friendly and accommodating. We plan to use them for an in-house party this year. The decor is updated and modern and most importantly the place is CLEAN. We've been to a lot of Indian restaurants where the dishes were dirty or there was something other thing...not the case with Pooja. The prices you can't beat for what he offers. My only complaint is the location in that strip mall...it would certainly be better more centrally located or in a stand alone restaurant cause the parking is less. We highly recommend Pooja for both catering and as a great place to go eat with your friends and family!
I hate to give any bad reviews but this is so far the worst restaurant I had been, in my entire tenure in NJ. Chicken was so uncooked, you had blood still visible, what's more shocking was that no one actually responded to this. It was around 9.30 we were the last customer, the moment the previous customer left the lights (except the one above our table), music and the AC was turned off. I am surprised to see high rating for this restaurant, hopefully this happened just to me.
Very good food and wonderful service..must vist
Their flavors never fail. Been eating here for a decade and I keep going back.
Food is very tasty...Great service whether eating in or ordering out with Uber Eats.
I live in Manhattan but have to go to New Jersey because of my projects. And Pooja is my favorite place there, I feel great and the food is always good. Recommend this place for everybody.
Really appreciate and very good one for SAP ABAP training institute in Hyderabad, fully recommend this one..
Love heat, they're the best. Great service and great food!.
my first time at this place, it was close by so i stopped for take out. Nicest host/cashier ever. Very pleasant and explained menu options to recommend a dish. I went with the shrimp curry dinner and a puri bread. Soooo good =) Really great flavor well cooked rice and a decent number of jumbo shrimp in the meal. The puri was just amazing too! light crunch but really held the sauce as i mixed it. very clean and cool vibe. Would definitely recommend!
Decently good Indian food in the area. Buffet isn't my favorite. Order a la carte and it's better quality.
Low quality food, bad service
Thanks a lot for the MALAI KOFTA. It was really delicious and really good to have with bread. Thank you and I hope to visit again
Good food and affordable price.
Good experience here and I really enjoyed the delicious food. I will visit again.
I really love the India delicious here and the prices are so affordable. The staff members are very friendly and I will again visit this restaurant. I will highly recommended to anyone!
Food was ok although there were VERY limited items in the buffet menu, but the staff was simply non-sense!! The dinner buffet time was until 9 pm, I got there at 8:25 pm. At 8:43 pm while I was in the mid of taking the main dish in my table, he came and asked me to take whatever dessert I need to take- I should take as he will remove that. So unprofessional and lack of courtesy!!! Would NEVER recommend anyone.
Food and service excellent
Tasty and authentic food with good decor, friendly waiters, and reasonable price. We had never tasted such good lentil soup. Also, complimentary welcome papads are unique for an indian restaurant.
Nice ambience, helpful service and average food
Nice ambience and good food- specially liked Paneer Pakora and Malai Kofta, paneer makhni was ok ok. .
Absolutely amazing food, great service and good prices. (And never a wait for a table) The food here is delicious every single time we come. The buffet always has a great selection, and they switch up the choices often, so there's always something new to try. Also, we came in today after not being here for a few months, and we walked in to a beautifully renovated restaurant. The atmosphere was nice before, but now it's even more cozy and inviting. 10/10 all around would be my score for this place if I were a food critic lol If you're looking for incredible Indian food, or haven't tried it yet and want too, this is where you want to go.
Thank you so much guys. A special note of thanks to the chefs for preparing such inspiring Indian foods, it deserves special accolades. The ambience of the restaurant was amazing and we got a homely feeling.
This restaurant has a very good buffet system. They give you heaps of food at really cheap price. Great variety in Indian menu. You should definitely try it.
Delicious... great service
Excellent lunch. Absolutely no complaints. Good music, great atmosphere and wonderful staff.
Service was very good but the food was ok, maybe cause it was dinner buffet but certainly not worth $15
Good buffet... But no "daal" in the buffet lunch..
I have been to many Indian restaurants, but what I like about Pooja is that their customer service is just great. They adjust the spice and oil portion of the food according to your preference. Great food and great service.
Recently had some fillings and a hygienist appointment. The staff were nice and the Dentist and hygienist were very professional as well.
Great and exultant food. I hope It's world best food.
Twice I have hired catering service from Pooja Pooja Exotic Indian Cuisine. Once for our anniversary and once for our son’s graduation. Both times the food was perfect and all the guests appreciated it. The best part is they have a budget catering package.
This time I tried the house special combo meal at Pooja Exotic Indian Cuisine. They gave so much food that I could hardly finish it. Appetizer, entrée and dessert every item was lip-smacking. Nice food experience.
Stellar Indian cuisine. Even their buffet is freshly made and well stocked.
Ripoff. Add 15% 'surcharge' for party of 3? Only 2 non-veg dishes on buffet and all were ice cold. DON'T RECOMMEND
Very tasty food !
Service and staff was good but not the food. Food was not to the mark, not a place to go multiple times.
I have recently visited Pooja Exotic Indian Cuisine and loved the delicious food. I enjoyed both the main course and the desserts.
Their food is good but they are charging customers additional tip without consent. You need to ask customer before doing that. Not good experience
The taste is not the same as the indian food we know. There is no spices or chilli at all. The buffet is very limited only one chicken and one lamb and one veg choices plus rice. Very very bad taste. The working staff are not friendly at all. We were party of three and they refused to give us a table on the side !!!! And on top of that there was a roach lingering infront of the buffet!!! Will never try again
Ordered their services for my daughter’s birthday party. We asked them to modify the food a bit, as most were kids. The food was just perfect. We enjoyed it a lot.
Good ambience. Perfect place for a time out with family to enjoy Indian food.Worth spending for the lunch buffet.
Magical Kofte ! Slurrrp
Food was really fresh and good.We tried kebab and dal makhani Kudos to the staff for the exceptional service Family and kids friendly place.
One of the best Indian restaurant in NJ with delicious food and service, give’em a try you’ll definitely like for sure.
Great food, great service. It reminds you off India and flavors as well as food aroma is just perfect. Try it to feel the same experience.
Went to the Gala Buffet today (August 11, 2019), and the food was incredibly good. I saw a few reviews saying the food is expensive but it is completely worth it. Nice ambience and the servers treated us like we were family, constantly asking us if we needed anything. The kathi rolls and pav bhaji are must try. Dessert options were gulab jamun and fruit custard, both of which are amaxing. I'm vegetarian and there were tons of delicious options for vegetarian. My dad was with me and he loved the chicken and mutton (he eats meat) as well. Overall amazing place and definitely worth going at least 3-4 times a month.
Ordered their services for my daughter’s birthday party. We asked them to modify the food a bit, as most were kids. The food was just perfect. We enjoyed it a lot.
A great place for lunch or dinner. The food is really good
I was having high expectations bcoz of positive reviews but disappointed. When we entered nobody bothered to tell us where we should sit.Ordered combo meal of 2 people which includes papadum, mulligatawny soup, chicken tikka & seekh kabab, vegetable korma , chicken tikka masala ,rice and naan bread, complimented by tea or coffee so as a complimentary got papad which was fine but green chutney was sour, lentils soup I didn't like it much ,starter ok ,chicken tikka curry same pieces which they gave in starter and vegetable korma was really sweet, naan fine.Tea or coffee nobody bothered to ask neither they bothered to ask if we need anything else . Though I have asked for medium spice but it was mild. This place is may be good for people who never had Indian food bcoz food was not spicey at all . Pros..Nice ambience ,clean place Con Not for spice lover people.
The foods being served here is absolutely great. Thanks a lot to the chefs for the awesome culinary. I hope you guys will continue the same service in the days to come.
Very good food i love this place Soya chops very good veg seekh kabab delish
Best Indian restaurant in town without any doubt. Their menu has so much variety that the first timer will get lost. The food has typical Indian flavor and they have a very cordial staff.
Worst kabob ever. We ordered boti kabob and taste was horrible. I wouldn’t recommend to order this from this restaurant. Never dined in here so not sure about service. Food quality definitely not good. There is en exotic in the name but is missing from food quality.
The weekday buffet price was good, around 10 $. The taste is completely North Indian. If you are a South Indian food lover, then a strong no to this place. Overall the taste was not that great and at the same time not bad. Hence 3 stars. But definitely thumbs up for the price and the varieties of buffet
It was my first anniversary and I thought treating the guest to Pooja Exotic Indian Cuisine. Pooja Exotic Indian Cuisine was my first choice since it is near to my home and I have tasted the food before. The catering service was as good as the food taste. All the guests were very happy.
I walked in, not knowing exactly what I wanted and was greeted with kind helpful service. I placed my order and it was ready in 10 minutes! I got home and everything was hot and delicious! I had to call to say BRAVO!!! Spicy curry chicken, vegetable samosas and garlic bread are excellent! So glad I found this place! Definitely will return
The food here is delicious however the plates here are overly expensive and I have seen a lot of discount coupons for Pooja and brought them in only for them to not accept for various reasons - not for online orders, not for pickup orders, etc. Overall staff is not very friendly as well. We have since found better Indian restaurants to eat at.
I was searching for an Indian restaurant here for a long time!! But unfortunately I was not getting a single one, After this restaurant came in town, I got to taste some genuine cuisine reminding me of my childhood days back in India. Thanks a lot guys for the help.
Clean place with excellent food.
i did dine out here i taste mazing food.
worst service..totally waste of your money
Everyone at our table was quite pleased. The staff was very friendly and attentive. This place has a good feel to it.
We have carry out several times a month. Always delicious. Our household has picky eaters but we always find something that everyone loves. As I write this my daughter is writing the list for my birthday supper. Can’t wait to enjoy.
Very clean and the food was very good
Good buffet. Very nice place.
Enjoyed the buffet...Good place to enjoy Indian food for families...Reasonable rate too...
Service was really incredible. Food was delicious. Took 3 people who had never had Indian food and they all loved it. Will definitely go back and would recommend to anyone.
Food was tasty and had a moderate amount of spice. The tandoori chicken was solid and food was generally brought out to the buffet promptly when needed. They do include a service charge for large parties.
Items were less for lunch buffet and no biryani in buffet, empty bowl for veg kurma and it took 20 min to refill it.. no taste in the lunch items.. I dnt recommend this place..
Worst staff.. Worst food.. We reached and ask for buffet they yes its available.. Within 10 min staff telling our closing time.. Take whatever u want.. N literally started moving food inside.. Very bad hotel don't go here
Its an authentic Punjabi cuisine. Along with 5 stars for the food I would give 6 stars to the service and staff. They make you comfortable as if you are at home no matter how much crowd is. They accept Groupon and have great discounts which no Indian cuisine can beat. ***** 5 star service
Very good place and prices are reasonable. Service is good.
Thank you so much for serving such instrumental foods. It was indeed special moment to celebrate my daughter’s birthday here. I am thankful the chefs for the preparation and the professionals for serving the foods in a cordial manner. Thanks a lot.
If you want really good, indian spicy, and flavorful gravy. Specify "Indian style" when you order. I ordered malak kofta for delivery and it was really good. Highly recommended.
EXCELLENT FOOD, very nice staff. I've been to this Easton Ave. location many times over the past couple years. I have always felt the food was very good and I loved the lunch and dinner buffet options. At some point, I believe earlier in 2019, there was a management change. With that came a new interior paint job, some wonderful chandeliers over each booth and some new decorations which have all elevated the place a bit. All good choices. Plus, their food is EVEN BETTER than it was before! The thin crispy chip-like appetizer with 3 sauces (green spicy sauce, a plum sauce and pickled onions) you get for free with a dinner meal is amazing!! And the items I like best and order every time are to die for. The only thing that has changed for the worst that I've noticed is they seem to have done away with the dinner buffet. The lunch buffet is still there. I certainly hope if you enjoy Indian food that you try this place, especially if you visited in 2018 or earlier because everything is better now. If you're not sure what you like then utilize the lunch buffet. There's a pretty good selection of things to try including desserts (sweets).
I love the food and the service is always great.
Excellent ambience and exceptional food , it is under new management and they are very customer oriented and nice people, I like how they pay attention to detail and no long wait time after you order
Their customer service was horrible; waitress was passive aggressive. They give a lot of attitude. But he food was delicious. Would’ve loved the restaurant if they had better customer service.
Wouldnt go back again. Didnt like the food. Wouldnt recommend anyone.
We really loved the food and staff were courteous. Esp the owner was willing to help us. On the cost side yes it's decent for a small buffet. If you are willing to just taste Indian food you can visit once. I liked the dessert and I wish I would have biryani and soup in there. Try once.
We love this place! Friendly staff, great food. The buffet is a great value and offers a good variety. We bring new people here whenever we can and they also enjoy it. Highly recommended!
The combination dinner option available in the restaurant is superb. We ordered special combination thali and the quantity was enough for my husband and me. My son also liked the Chicken Tikka and the dessert. Will visit again!
Authentic food. Excellent service. Saw ad on USA TV news. Worth to go
I’ve been coming here for years, and love this place. Their client service is second to none!!
I wanted to enjoy Indian cuisine so visited the restaurant for dinner. They offer a wide range of food options to choose from. My favorites include Keema Masala Paratha and Chicken Korma. The food contains authentic Indian spices and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Google rating is somewhat misleading. Food at this restaurant is either tasty or bland. However, I am giving one star because of their staff. They are rude.
The food was okay. The chicken & lamb were cooked unevenly. Green chutney was sour in taste. The place was clean & neat.
Whenever I am at Pooja Exotic Indian Cuisine I straightaway go to the buffet. It has many options and the quantity is decent. Delicious food in a price that is a steal.
Got introduced by a friend of mine.
It is an old Indian restaurant, and has quite a reputation for serving great Indian food in the area. I am a frequent visitor at this place and love their food. The taste in consistent and they live up to their good reputation every time.
Good food and great service.Buffet is reasonable and staff is friendly.Don’t hesitate to bring anyone at this place ❤️
The food is eh. The waiter couldnt understand us we had to repeat the order three times. They forgot our drinks till it was time to pay so we said no Ty. The service sucked and the food was subpar at best. Wont be coming back.
A must visit place.. amazing food with wonderful hospitality. You can never get bored of this food... so yummy for d tummy!!
I have frequented a lot of Indian restaurants in the area. Pooja's food is exceptionally delicious and the service is really representative of the warm hospitality of India. Good value for the money too. I am definitely going there again - this time with my two adult children!
Excellent service and great food,
Best Indian restaurant in town without any doubt. Their menu has so much variety that the first timer will get lost.
Honest review here, Food is not the best, if fact, quite disappointing. Little flavor and nothing is spicy. Little variety and I saw people watching Fake News cnn there. Got the extra two stars since it ain't expensive. Like 9 bucks or so for lunch and Mirchi (WHICH IS MUCH BETTER) was closed.
Good job good food good service
