This Restaurant belongs to the category of New American restaurant.
My husband and I have been to Nico several times before shows at NJPAC and have always had great experiences. Last night was our 4th visit, and I just wanted to specifically call out our server Nicholas for his excellent service. He had at least 6 tables at the same time as ours (which I think is too many for a single server, even with food runners) but he remained well composed and attentive. The food was delicious as always, and was part of a wonderful date night for a couple of parents of young kids. I especially appreciated the amazing butternut squash soup and the flaky, buttery crust on the peach cobbler, which was almost as good as my own. ;)
Will only go back to the bar. The service was good but the food was horrible. The salad was plain at best and the entree was cold and presented like nobody could care. The best part of meal was the bread & butter. My wife ordered a dessert and instead of telling her they ran out of that dessert they just gave her something else. Very amateur run place !!
Had a couple of drinks at the bar and our bartender FADI, was so awesome we decided to eat dinner at the bar! He made the absolute best drinks ever! He was friendly, and he definitely knew his drinks. We watched him to interact with all his customers and he got to know them all. The food was excellent, we had the crab cakes, the short ribs, and the filet mignon. FADI actually recommended and they were all delicious! We would definitely go back to NICO Kitchen and Bar as long as FADI was making our drinks! Thanks FADI!
Service was unpleasant food was uncooked
Fadi is the best bartender!!! Friendly and energetic! Very welcoming :-) highly recommend that you ask for him!
Reservations only. Since they didn't advertise this; we had to take a seat at the bar. The bar food was terrible and expensive. Chicken couldn't be anymore dry and the burger was completely over cooked. If you want to get trashed, the bar tender will take care of you; for a price. Be aware the drinks aren't cheap. We decided to try this place out because we were going to an event next door. We were not the only people complaining at the bar.
The menu had limited choices. My lobster had pepper all over it and I could not enjoy it. Adding pepper should be optional, not already done. I am someone who does not care for pepper. The crab cakes we ordered were extremely spicey, filet mignon was saturated in red wine sauce which made it impossible to enjoy that either. It tasted more like bbq spare ribs. Every time we tried to order something else they had ran out of it. The dessert was blah and the drink was decent. We will never be back to this restaurant especially for our anniversary..... emphasis added. For $180 it definitely was not worth it. This is not Italian food. This place is an insult to Italians.
Fadi made the evening an Birthday celebration a pleasure ! His service is 5 stars and Beyond!
Love it! They could wirk.on the menu and hire a mixologist, but still the coolest spot in downtown Newark.
Good food usualy but not hot tonight. Very loud and crowded
Food was enjoyable service great nice surrounding. Will keep coming
The drinks are well made, the atmosphere is is great, and there's a chill vibe. It can get crowded when there's an event at the theater, so if you are doing dinner and a show, get there early.
I have eaten the best gnocchi I've ever had in this restaurant. I always enjoy coming here.
This place was great,my waitress was a young lady and she was awesome, she had a funny name (apani), and the atmosphere is wonderful
Had reservations at 6:00 yesterday with wife and friend. Food was good. Found crab cakes to be good and Pad Thai also good. Martinis were excellent and as ordered. Wait staff was stressed but did a good job and remained pleasant. They also went out of their way to please us and get food out on time. My only issue was the hostess who was not at all friendly. An attractive woman, tall with head wrap, made me feel as if I was not welcome almost immediately upon entering. Later, when I switched from the bar to our table, she made me feel 2 feet tall with cutting eyes and attitude. The initial interaction at a restaurant with staff can really set the tone of the evening, esp. in an establishment where I'm spending $100+ dollars. Hate me on your time, not mine.
Had dinner after a Sunday performance and we were rushed.
Pleasant informal bistro in NJPAC. Nice outside deck, friendly service. Mixed solid fare.
Fabulous, upscale perfect for every occasion. Our dinner at Nico's was not only delicious but also very unique. Great friends contributed to my experiance but barman and waiter were extremely professional and pleasant. Highly recommended! I will definitely be back :)
Just moved to the neighborhood and stopped in for drinks and snacks. Shabirah the bartender is excellent. Knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly! Definitely a new neighborhood favorite.
The staff and management were wonderful! The food was terrible. Glorified dinner food. Ceasar salad wilted and NOT real dressing. I could go on.. management took care of everything.
I had the portabella mushroom panini sandwich with a salad. It was a delicious and inexpensive meal. The service was great . We got our food quickly. The server was pleasant and very attentive.
This place has a lot of potential. The food and drinks are excellent but the service is beyond sub par. I experienced a bartender cursing at customers, being very confrontational, and frustrated at how understaffed it was. Even when dining with a corporate group in the restuarant, service was extremely poor.
Interesting event space
This is a spacious loungey restaurant with a very nice stylish ambiance. The food and wine, however, were not as sexy as the scene. My food was bland, without much of a punch to it, despite the nice presentation. The wine, like the food, was pretty average. The server, in contrast, made up for the bland food and drinks. My friend and I had a friendly, very attentive, and prompt young woman looking after us. She was excellent.
Nice place to unwind
Amazing chicken wings!!!!!
Wonderful lunch and conversation. Thank you NJPAC.
Very nice place to grab a bite before a show a NJ PAC.
Good Place. Great place for drinks before the show.
Good place to eat at I know I've been there
Appetizers were good, the asparagus was the best. For the main courses the duck had a great flavor but could have been a bit more tender. The couscous with the demi glace was tasty. The Branzino was very good. The first two courses came out to the table fairly quickly however, the desserts took awhile. All in all not bad.
The name gave me a bit of pause because I was picturing something of a buffet, but it's not that at all. It's a pleasant environment with a nice bar and ample space between tables. The drinks were delicious, as was the food, and the service was wonderful. We ate from the prefix menu which had a nice selection of options. I definitely recommend the Chocolate Dome for dessert.
Food was good! Service was not good and tonight my group of 12 was the only group there....I cant imagine service on an event night.
They really should call it a private club. I’ve been trying to make reservations for the Thursdays when they have the speaker series. I’m told it’s for board members only! That’s a laugh; walked past the restaurant last night and there were at least 10 empty tables. What a way to run a restaurant. Turn people away who want to be paying customers by lying, 4 of us would be happy to eat dinner there but “we’re not part of the board”
Great annual meeting of the Rutgers Business School Alumni Association
All courses were excellent. Timing of service allowed for conversation. Service was also excellent. The waiter was engaging and funny. An overall great exiperance. Cannot wait to go back.
Nightmare!!! I should have an option to leave negative Stars
Great food
Cold food, arrogant male bartender....nice barmaid treated us with complete respect....the guy ruined it for me, placed food orders of people after us first....done with Nico's...
Horrible service. They got all my orders wrong. I ordered Blue Moon they brought Modelo. When I told them I ordered Blue Moon they took it back, but when they brought me my drink it didn't taste like what I ordered. I know what Blue Moon taste like and I know what Modelo taste like. Then they took 45 minutes to take our salad bowl away only cause we ask to get some water. Then they give our food to the table next to us, and finally they got my dessert order wrong. Would go to Wendy's before I go back. Plus the food tastes average at best.
By far the worst Mother’s Day experience! food was ice cold, service didn’t exist! Ruined my mother’s day and I’m sure a lot of others too! Would have preferred going to a drive through then this place. Would not recommend!
Very nice atmosphere i will return
Very upscale. The food is aways delicious and the service top notch. A good environment for business meetings or corporate gathering.
Shabirah was such an awesome bartender . I’m coming back to see her all the time ! Great place . Love Nico
Went 3/18/16 Pre-fixe Menu. Not great. The Portions were small, the appetizer was miniscule, and the Main course consisted of 2 pieces of Duck about an 1 1/4 wide and 5" long. My chief complaint was the Duck was barely warm when it was served and once again we had to wait 8-10 minutes for our Wine which we asked to be served with dinner, which is the same problem we had last time we were there. They made the Wine complementary which was the right thing to do. But all said and done, I would sooner pay more and get a meal I can enjoy , and gladly pay for my wine and have served on time with Hot food.
Cassandra was a great waitress! We had a huge party, and she was so patient, poised, and professional. The food was really quite tasty -- I had the vegan pad thai, which I was grateful to see on the menu. It was more delicious than I might have expected at a non-Thai restaurant. Yum, and well done Cassandra!
Great place to go for a wonderful meal before a show at the NJPAC.
I can't shake it. I feel like someone stole my wallet. Went to Bill Burr show at the NJ Pac. Had reservations with my wife and 4 sons before the show. I should have realized something was wrong as the show was sold out, but the restaurant was almost empty! So here's what you get. Cocktails are priced higher than the hottest restaurants in NYC, and they are measured ( so bring a flask or be prepared for a liquor bill that's higher than your mortgage payment) Prefix menu that's so limiting. Pick your appetizer? Sad that the most exciting thing is grilled asparagus!!! Or try the shrimp cerviche which is served in this huge white plate that houses a half of one piece of shrimp cut into tiny, tiny pieces, sprinkled with POPCORN!! Main course- Lots of luck. Pasta, 2 of my sons ordered and sent it back. Hanger steak? Im still chewing it the morning after. Pick a desert. House special is Bombosso or something like that. What is it? Dunkin munchkins with chocolate sauce!! Check please- How much? $525 for the 6 of us and we could not wait for the show to end so we could go get something to eat. The pizza we got on the way home blew away anything on that menu!!. Oh, the bread is decent. The chef owner, Ryan is a pro!! What a waste of talent in this overpriced, disappointment of a "high end " restaurant!!!! NEVER , NEVER AGAIN!! Btw, google does not let you post a review with at least giving 1 star, so don't be fooled. I would give it minus 5 stars if I could. I'm not a review person, but could not wait to get up this morning to tell the world what a disgusting rip off this place is!!
Went here for a Christmas party and the food was not good.
The food was amazing
What a disgusting place.
Nico and Maize possible joined with NJPAC, blatantly rip show patrons off during theater nights !!!!! Both are not that good in food flavor and both pull out this three course meal menu only during theater nights!!! This is Not NYC folks, stop ripping off your regular patrons !!!! Shame on you both !!!!
Good food service was a little slow
Nice place, but limited menu when you're seeing a show.
The service (thank you Heather) was excellent, maitre d' charming and helpful (thank you Keys) and the food very satisfactory. Adequate choices on the prix fixed menu, we will return.
We were so disappointed tonite. We went there before a show at NJPAC. WE arrived at 5:45 and were told we had plenty of time for a 7:00 show. It was a Prixe Fix menu so the food should come quickly. It took 40 minutes for our appetizers- 2 cheese plates and 2 lobster bisques. The soup had no lobster in it and was very fishy tasting. The men didnt eat it. The cheese plates were ok not much cheese on it. We ordered 1 bottle of wine and the guys had a total of 6 beers. At 10 to 7 we said we could not wait any longer for our food. The manager and waiter had already both assured us several times the food would be out shortly. They gave me a bill for 134.82 for 1 bottle of wine, 6 beers, 2 cheese plates and 2 bowls of soup. As we were leaving we saw the dinners coming out of the kitchen. It was 6:55. We went to a show and were starving. I didnt want to give it even 1 star but I couldnt post without it.
The bread was cold and hard. The sausage potato was flavorless. The menu is limited. Not any good choicesvhoices
Event for a work lunch, service was quick and efficient. The food was delicious and wonderfully portioned.
Terrible frozen veggies . Over cooked salmon
Horrible service. Waited 15 minutes to order a drink and had to order multiple times. Drinks never came.
Food is mediocre ambiance and personnel are nice
Very nice place, especially if you are going to NJPAC. Very convenient between the two. That being said- the staff is very nice. The prices are quite high and the food was just OK.
Pricey, but delicious. Clean and rarely busy except show nights at NJPAC. plenty of parking, safe and we'll lit.
You must eat here before as show at the the NJPAC. A simple menu with limited but great choices.
Meh. It's the best you're gonna do in the area. Nice atmosphere, mediocre food. The menu on show days is a prix-fix only so you'll have to order 3 courses.
I was recovering from a broken hip and was in a wheelchair when we visited here on our way to a Steve Winwood concert. The staff was very kind and thoughtful and went out of their way to assure my comfort. Great place!
The Elder Flower Royals is the best drink. Nico’s is the best place for cocktail in Newark. I give Fadi the bartender 15 stars.
We just tried to walk in to eat before our show. Despite seating the two people who were right before us (they did not have a reservation) the ‘front desk’ stated he wasn’t seating anyone without a reservation and was extremely rude. I wouldn’t eat there if it was free!! BTW, 1/2 the tables were empty!!!
One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. DO NOT get the hanger steak if you have the misfortune of eating here
Good service but food wasn't that good. Just OK.
Nicos is always our go to place when we host events for St. Jude in North Jersey. The food is always excellent and the prices are great. Decor is warm and inviting and its located adjacent to NJPAC. Parking is scary but theres plenty of lots close by.
Terrible experience. The “management” is a joke. Unprofessional service and that starts at the top. The managers walking around clearly do not have the respect of their workers nor their full effort. The servers are extremely disorganized and wandering around like chickens without a head. There is no clear instruction or direction in sight. Multiple tables surrounding me were returning plates left and right. My food took 70 mins to come out. When it did, only half of the meals were served. The other half didn’t come until 15 mins later. From the salads to the desserts, the servers did not know who ordered what. Complete chaos. Management was too afraid to engage with us and / or apologize for their lack of professionalism. Terrible experience.
The food is alright, and the menu is very limited. It's not enough options. The decor is nice.
Enjoyed the environment and my server. My salmon was overcooked and very dry. A bit disappointing. I asked for the fish cooked through and that does not mean dry. I am sure it will be better next time.
My friend and I had lunch here before the 2pm performance of Shen Yun. We had reservations for 12.0 noon and were seated immediately at a great table for two. Overheard the hostess telling others that without reservations there was only 1st come seating at the bar. Not an extensive menu but very adequate for lunch before theater. We had the Nico burger w/blue cheese & fries and a chicken club sandwich with a side salad. Both sandwiches had excellent flavor. Only disappointment was the very plain mesclun/spring mix salad. We should have requested a different mix. Very good service and, of course, being immediately adjacent to the PAC was extremely convenient. Nice ambiance in the restaurant. Suggest parking right across the street in the Military Park underground garage. Not cheap ($26 for matinees) but close and convenient.
Food was good. They were able to accommodate my low FODMAP diet, and we're great with the kids.
I tried this spot already with a friend and I am addicted ever since. I love the fantastic ambience and tasty food and beverages. 5 stars.
I always eat at the same restaurant when I am in Newark, but on this visit, Nico was recommended to me by a local employee. Three of us enjoyed dinner there. I was pleasantly surprised by the courtesy of the staff, but I was most impressed by the deliciousness of the food! I am a huge salmon fan, but this was, quite possibly, the simplest yet most flavorful salmon dish I have ever had! Kudos to the chef and manager for great food, atmosphere, and staff!
My friend and I went to NICO'S to celebrate my friend's birthday. We went for lunch, we ordered hamburgers, which was absolutely delicious, desserts were out of this world, we had a potpourri plate with fresh fruit, triple chocolate layer cake, almond pear tart, apple, goat cheese cheesecake, beet sorbet. Service was great. I had been a longtime customer and I never been disappointed. Thanks NICO's Kitchen + Bar, to make every experience extra special and go an extra mile every time. I highly recommend this place.
Great food and atmosphere, but slow service.
Good food and service, convenient parking. Particularly enjoyed the seared tuna at lunch.
I ate at the bar with my wife for a preshow dinner. Fadi was our bar tender and server. He makes a great mojito. Highly recommended if you want good service and great mixed drinks.
We attended Elton John at Prudential center last night. We didn't really know about Nico's. Much to our surprise it's a beautiful, comfortable restaurant. First let me say Our server Apani was Awesome!! Happy Birthday tomorrow. Next, the food. Hats off to the Chef & all the kitchen staff everything was made to perfection. Butternut squash soup, Filet Mignon, Braised pork shank and dessert (yum). Last but, not least the Servers, bus girl and Manager friendly, courteous and on point. Thank you all for a wonderful evening. See you all soon. Will definitely be back!!
Expensive, poor service, food just ok. The good news: vegan options, attentive servers, nice clean environment with sleek and modern decor. The bad news: Our business lunch took over 2 hours, which caused several people to miss meetings or be very late. We waited almost an hour from when we placed our orders until when we received our food. In addition, service was poorly timed, food kept coming out incorrectly, when food did come it wasn’t very good. My Pad Thai was very salty and was not made spicy as requested (the menu specifically states to let them know and they will make it spicy). My colleague ordered the same dish with a different protein and that request was not honored. When she sent it back we were all done or almost done by the time it came back correctly. Everyone who ordered chicken dishes said the chicken was extremely dry and we all agree that for the prices they are charging this place is just awful.
Delicious contemporary American fare - prix fixe only before performances.
With every visit I feel welcomed and appreciated by Fadi. He is friendly and accommodating - every time! I love the “tailor made” drinks that he makes to please my palate. Chef Jason was extremely personable and took time to explain a variety of dishes. He had my mouth watering! I can’t wait to come for dinner. Will always come back and bring friends.
Good drinks. Good vibe.
Packed show - everything was a little hectic on arrival beacuse of all of the show patrons. Prix Fixe menu - I woud have liked more choice Waiter was quite friendly. She got us through the courses with good choice and plenty of time to get to the show. Hint: We had a drink in bar after instead of fighting the traffic.
Yes! Great food and a wonderful staff. Evelyn, Jasmine, and Andrea were knowledgeable and helpful but not overbearing. The food was fresh and seasons perfect. Try the fig bread pudding.
nice place and nice prices, love this place.
Great place to hang out!
We were seated at 6:50 PM. Couldn't get the attention of any of the servers who were deliberately ignoring us. At 7:12 PM we stopped one of the managers, who finally brought us some wine. He sent a server over who promptly told us she'd be right back...she disappeared. We stopped another server and placed our order. We finally got our appetizers at 7:32 PM. The they rushed our entrees so we could make the 8 PM show. Food very average. We would have left the restaurant but there is literally no where else to go in the neighborhood. My advice is to dine elsewhere and just stop for a drink at the bar if you're there for a show. .
Food not worth price...I was underwhelmed
Went to dinner before the show and everything was excellent. Started with house soup was tomato base and delicious. Ceaser salad was big fresh and tasty. I had the Short rib, nice big tasty meat, cooked perfect over rice and spinach on the side.my girl friend had the filet mignon, cooked perfectly, and the sauce on it was delicious. I had the bread pudding with ice cream and a touch of caramel, superb she had chocolate layer cake also delicious. The waitress was a very sweet girl checking on us time to time and never rushing us. The manager Bikram is a gentleman, checked on us several times to make sure everything was fine. Excellent dining experience, food atmosphere and service. Will definitely go back again soon
Antonelli was very nice to me 5 stars for her
Very special and traditional gem in Palm Springs! There is magic here. The food, staff, ambience, and customers combine to create a real dining experience.
Food was very good. A perfect dinner before the show, very convenient. Great coffee.
limited menu. good for pre concert.
Great atmosphere loved the food. Will be going again.
Didn't eat there but the drinks were amazing. My boy Kamin will hook you up.
Shabirah is always professional and accommodating. She is knowledgeable in the wine selection and also in appetizer menu. Her personality breathes life into the atmosphere. She is always a queen
Was very surprised upon arriving. Very clean and modern. There is some road noise but that is expected as close to freeway as you are. Easy to get to airport. Restaurant was located in lobby and was very good for breakfast and dinner.
I went there before a concert. The service was nice, as well as the salad. Everything else was nasty. Do not order the 8 oz. steak. I ordered medium well, and received a charred piece of meat. I'm from Omaha, so I know a thing or two about steaks. I sent a picture to my brother who works at Omaha Steaks, he was disgusted at the presentation alone. Not worth the money at all. Never again.
Nicholas at Nico’s kitchen+bar was amazing. Personable and genuine. Extremely cool, and down to earth! Requesting him every time I come back.
Everything was perfect. At first we were disappointed because we didn't make reservations, but dining at the bar for dinner was fantastic. Fadi our waiter and an exceptional mixologist was attentive, entertaining and introduced us to one of his many delectable adult beverages. A wonderful prelude to a fabulous concert.
Great service, great food, fresh seasonal menu, onsite parking, outdoor dining, what's not to love.
Conveniently located restaurant near NJPAC, with the looks and pomp of a fine dining restaurant, however, the food does not dazzle. 4 Stars for atmosphere, mood and formality. 3 Stars for the food - the part that really matters! $$-$$$
Good
Great experience, lovely staff great menu.
Overall the service was great; however, the food was lacking. The butternut squash was quite thin which is probably due to the lack of any dairy, the Caesar salad was slightly sweet and lacked parmesan, the gnocchi was undercooked, and the devil's food cake was dry. The only highlights were the salmon which was cooked well and the crème brûlée which was delicious. Overall, I would recommend the bar fare over the main room.
The food was pretty good but the service was subpar. They never refilled our water and the service was not very attentive.
The atmosphere is wonderful. The food is good. The service is stellar absolutely worth the five stars. Especially since this was my first time dining in this amazing establishment.
Excellent service by Ulysses and his staff. Prefix menus are great for early dinner before the show. Try it you will not disappointed.
Good lunch today, after attending a dress rehearsal of New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. Though it is possible to eat outdoors, we chose to go inside and enjoy the modern space. The food was very good. I had the Southwest Salmon Salad - salmon fillet with quinoa, black beans, avocado and a dab of cream. It took quite a while to be served, but we had much to talk about. Leisurely lunch. No noise and enough space.
Delicious food and nice atmosphere. Our waitress Maya was great!! I would definitely recommend.
Very pleasant the environment and staff. Thank you chef, food was excellent.
Service was great, food was ok. Didn't expect a three course performance menu with was pretty limited.
Delicious with great service!
Stopped for drinks before show. Only had beer, limited selection, but you take a to go cup & go into theatre without going outside. Beers were $9 a pop
No stars if possible. Will not return or recommend. Just a rip off because it is next to NJPAC. Very appealling to the eyes but my stomach was not impress. Over priced garbage. STAY AWAY!!!!!!
Excellent Food and Atmosphere
luxury and sophisticated
Good apps, location,and service
Cory was great!
The food was excellent and it was very convenient to eat there before the show.
Nico Kitchen + Bar is a very nice restaurant. When we arrived the atmosphere was very nice except for the female hostess. She had an attitude and was not friendly at all. Once we were seated our server came a greeted us. Jasmine is a breath of fresh air. Very friendly, informative and personable. She gave us a perfect fine dining experience. My husband and I were in town July 22, 2018 for a concert at NJPAC which is connected here and made a reservation for convenience. We made a great decision. The Nico burger was perfection. The beef was top quality. The beers on tap were fresh and were served at the right temperature. If you know beer you will definitely tell the difference. Jasmine suggested the creme brule' after we enjoyed our cappuccinos. It was delicious. I wish I had of got my own instead of sharing with my husband hahaha. I definitely reccomend this restaurant. Ignore the hostess' attitude and ask for Jasmine. Jasmine will surely take care of you! Jasmine and the quality of the food are why I am giving 5 stars.
Lovely Atmosphere to Chill & Lay Low..!!!
Great staff and service with great food
Ok, This was our second sub-par visit, and we've now made a mental note to by-pass this place. The place gets two stars from us, for being conveniently located steps from any NJPAC performance. The drinks were average, at best. I was starving and ordered the salmon. BIG MISTAKE. DRY, DRY, DRY, no taste. No seasoning whatsever! The soup reminded me of the can tomatoe soup I had as a kid with my grilled cheese sandwich. The only difference was, it looked like the chef threw some white kidney or butter beans in the soup. My husband wasn't as hungry as I was, and ordered the crab cakes with cabbage. Crab cakes were hard as a rock, and cabbage was tasteless. We thought we had plenty of time to make it for an 8:00pm show. NOT. We got there at 6:00pm ish. Ordered right away, but still had to wait extensively for our food to arrive. Arrived at the performance late, even though we were steps away. Ordered a cocktail. HORRIBLE, had to send it back. The Manager never came over to ask us how our evening was going. Funny, he asked others around us. Hmmm?? Others around us complained as well about their food, and were given free drinks. We didn't make a reservation, so we had to sit in the bar area. We weren't given a choice actually. Didn't realize that sitting in the bar area would make a difference in the menu options. We were never told that. It's a shame because this place is so convenient when going to see a show at NJPAC.
A warm greeting from a server who knows my name, delicious food ending with mouthwatering flaky beignets with different seasonal fillings, all while seated in a comfortable booth gazing at the soaring, almost otherworldly beauty of the lobby. Thank you for a delicious meal that took me outside my everyday life for the price of a Hoboken diner.
Great experience! Our bartender Fadi makes the best cocktails. You must try the Cucumber Basil Gimlet and the Chocolate Martini, both to die for!
Horrible, if you want a free meal go there. They not only messed up our dinner but a few others.
Service was excellent and with a smile, which is top notch for me!
My friends and I had an amazing time last night at NICO’s. Food and service was amazing... we loved our server Surayyah! Hope to be back again soon!!
Very slow service. Nice people. Arrive hour and 50 minutes before show with reservations and had to leave the table before paid for dessert arrived.
Fadi was the best bartender! Highly recommended. Super friendly and made great drinks!
This place is bad. It is your standard trapped-customer business. It is the only restaurant/bar located within the NJPAC building, so they don't need to put forth an honest effort since their customers are stuck, particularly if they arrived via light rail or train without a car. The watermelon soup was the highlight of the meal. The calamari, pasta and bronzini were all bad. To make the restaurant a complete farce, they only had 1 copy of the wine list (simple 8.5x11 sheet of paper which you could print 100 copies, if you were competent) on a Friday evening before a concert, so when you order your drink, they hand you the drink menu, but once you have ordered they need it back immediately to hand to the next table. At one point, the service disintegrated to the point where the maitre d' had to stop seating and start clearing tables. Service is awful. This place is a joke.
Food was good. Not a lot of variety. Service is very good.
Fadi was almost as great as Maze!!! Perfect ending to our Thanksgiving weekend! This bartender, Fadi, was on another level! Drinks were beyond awesome and I’m glad our hotel was within walking distance of the restaurant.
We experienced a wonderful delicious prix fix dinner before our show.
Get the fish tacos. Nice and meaty. Try cranberry juice and sparkling water on a sunny day. Sit outside weather permitting. Park at NJPAC. Nico's validates. Enjoy!
Good place good food and people is so nice
Had dinner with the cousins before attending an event. Great service.
Surayyah is THE BEST server! Excellent drinks, food and service. The perfect dinner before a show. Highly recommend!! Great hostess and servers.
The restaurant is modern and has an upbeat energetic vibe. The menu is very limited and more resembles a shortened bar menu. The food was over-seasoned and much more spicy than I would have liked. The drinks are fairly priced and the portions were adequate but I still feel this place can do much better. They need to add more real entrees to the menu. A few more appetizers and side dishes would not hurt either. I just felt like this place is not there to please, it is simply there to serve those who stop by for shows. This is a beautiful space that is not being used to its full potential. The owners should listen to the negative reviews if they want to bring in more customers and make more money.
Nice atmosphere. Good food. Food temperature off. Very attentive service.
Excellent place! Apani was amazing, the girl deserves a promotion!
I'd probably give NICO 3.5 stars if I could. The best thing about this place (aside from the fact that it's attached to NJPAC) was the service. Everyone was very friendly and prompt, from the busboys to the manager. The food, however, was very underwhelming. Nothing was bad but I had to season everything with salt and pepper. Nothing I ate blew me away. I wouldn't go back unless I'm going to a show at NJPAC.
