REVIEWS OF Mill IN New Jersey

Gabe Wilson

Consistently excellent Korean food that exceeds what you get at many of the places in Korea Town. I question the reviews noting the lack of authenticity and quality; in over 50 meals there over the past decade, they have never let me down.

Shombit Chatterjee

Jaiden C

I visit this place a lot since I work right next to it. I got to say their customer service is always awesome and they keep the place well organized constantly. Prices are convenient and they serve large portions.

Michele Escobar

Flavorful glass noodles, excellent dumplings and tasty spicy pork.

Fil Zembowicz

The food was okay, nothing special. Definitely Korea Town establishments are better... but this place is pretty convenient, cheap, and quick.

Jaxon Shields

I tried this spot in the past with a friend and I am addicted since then. I enjoyed the awesome mood and fresh food and drinks. Keep it up.

Latasha Williams

Qiliang Lin

Bad food. Actually the quality is not consistent. Sometimes good and sometimes very bad.

Geneal Chichester

Service was fast and the food was good. I think the bbq prices are a bit more reasonable than in ktown

(Translated by Google) Is only want to eat Korean food is really, really ... (otherwise not find a place to be) something I antakkawot as a Korean. I'd be able to give foreigners a good memory for Korean food. I know how many delicious Korean house in the downtown. Even expensive ... while much more expensive than the universities of learning in Korea (almost dusebae) taste would go a geudak ㅜㅜ rather walk 15 more minutes 'Mokja'. I'm going to go once not twice, eventually the last semester again. I recommend that you go to 'Mokja', 15 minutes walk from here, if you want to try good Korean foods. As a Korean, it's really sad that this is the only Korean restaurant near campus. I recommend that you go to 'Mokja', 15 minutes walk from here, if you want to try good Korean foods. As a Korean, it's really sad that this is the only Korean restaurant near campus.

It was ok tasting, also they gave some of the food to specific people without explaining it was for the whole table, everything was a bit wired

Mateja Mihinjac

Great menu and food! Portions per entree are very generous and usually feed two persons. Service was prompt and curteous. Food was brought out quickly and was fresh and delicious.

Noam Livneh

Flavorless food for tasteless people.

Ed No

Amazing quality food at reasonable prices (a little on the steep end). Amazing service as well. This is the best Korean place in the upper w side.

This place is OK given there aren't many Korean restaurants near Columbia. The stone dolsot bibimbap was OK nothing that said wow. The seafood daenkang stew was really bland and I had to call the waiter. She later came back and agreed that was not well made. If you're looking for a Korean fix you can get it, but head down to ktown to get better Korean.

Great cold noodles. hard to find even in NYC. Service was ok.

Mediocre Korean food, price is reasonable though. Service can be either ok or horrible depending on who you get. Prospered in the Columbia neighborhood because, well, this is the only Korean restaurant here :(

Shirley Keat

The service and food of this place is getting worse and worse. The tofu stew had no flavor at all and they used firm tofu? I cannot stand with it. The service is extremely slow.

Jonathan Harper

TL/DR: A roll of the dice. It may be excellent, or it may be the last time. Now the review: The first two times I ate here the food was good, hot, and fresh. Service was very brusque and inattentive but it was still a 4/5 overall. I went back. My third time eating here was one of the worst food experiences I have had in NYC: my food came out cold, my "fried veggies" included a chunk of over-fried whitefish, the staff ignored the patrons unless you physically walked to the kitchen, and some of my food tasted like mothballs. Yes, mothballs. Just like one of the cooks smelled like mothballs when he walked through the restaurant for smoke breaks. It was disgusting, and a real shame. Eat here at your own risk: 2/5 stars in the off chance you get lucky.

Lunch box sets are reasonably value for money. Otherwise, better Korean food can be found at the Korean food trucks near Columbia

Melissa Mcewen

Decent authentic Korean food. Unfortunately the servers are quite rude and it can get very crowded inside. Ingredients vary in quality, with some grisly meats, but the lunch specials are a good deal and come with a variety of fresh and pickled vegetables.

Tyler Rodenbaugh

Portion sizes were large and the food was fresh and delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Prices were good for the portion sizes. I will come back!

Yun Wang

They have the most complete menu of Korean food I've ever seen. You can probably find whatever you want here!

Chris Lee

Extensive menu, authentic food.

This place has the trifecta I look for, but don't often find: good food, good service, good prices! I highly recommend it!

(Translated by Google) I ordered Tteokbokki and seafood miso soup. The seafood miso had a price of $ 8, so it was relatively less burdensome. Tteokbokki would have been nice if the rice cakes were a little chewy, but it was generally okay. The atmosphere is just plain.

Mellie Davis

Not my favorite place to visit but that probably has more to do with the style of food. I did enjoy he complimentary small plates they offered at the beginning of the meal. Many students love this place but I am not necessarily the most impressed considering the other options locally.

The tofu bibimbop I had was good. I was disappointed that most of the food has fish sauce in it including the soup and the kimchi, cucumbers, and beans they serve with the meal. This place is not very vegetarian friendly , but it has a nice casual atmosphere with reasonably priced good food.

JD Trading

Food bad, service worse, kitchen worst.

Yao-Yuan Mao

Jeff Reis

Quality Bibimbop and fine service. If you're in a hurry and unable to pour your own water this might not be the place for you. Comfortable decor and decent prices round out a great local spot.

Yvonne Waldemar

Small. Korean. Okay.

Just okay Korean food. It's good enough for a fix, but quite overpriced for what you're getting. Kimchi stew has a weirdly oily texture without substantive flavor.

Miyo Peck-Suzuki

FOOD IS RELIABLY OKAY.

not bad. no other options for korean food around Columbia. I hate the inside of the restraunt because too close between tables. i puck up foods.

Very tight space, but food is good, reasonable price.

Shawn Wang

Not the most authentic korean restaurant but the food is pretty cheap and the service is good. The only real korean restaurant in the area.

Sam Kim

I'm Korean. I assure the foods served here aren't good regarding their price. Even Korean food truck nearby Columbia university is better than this one. Worst Korean restaurant in the states ever.

Chloe Park

I'm giving it 1 star because there is no option for no star. First of all, I'm a Korean who will eat mediocre Korean food just because it's not easy to get outside of Korea town. That said, I have to say this place is just horrible. But as bad and as over-priced as this place is I would give in about once or twice a year and order from them simply because there was nothing else Korean around here (I wouldn't say it's over priced if the food was just mediocre instead of horrible). Now, I stopped ordering from them altogether and order from Koko Wings and Mokja. These are not Korean restaurants with a full menu, but Koko wings is good for what it is, and Mokja is at least better than Mill. When I say the food is horrible, I mean that they use the lowest quality ingredients to make food that taste like it was made by someone who thinks they can cook but can't. In addition, twice they had the nerve to deliver food that had gone bad (if you're not familiar with Korean food you might have eaten it thinking that's how it tastes and got sick), and that's twice out of maybe 10 times I ate food from there, which is high in percentage (that's about 10 times over 6 year period or so). I seriously don't know how this place is able to stay open all these years: maybe there are enough desperate Koreans by Columbia University who keeps giving them business. Maybe enough people who are not familiar with Korean food think it's good- anyway, think twice before ordering from them. There ARE other Korean options in the neighborhood now.

When I went to school up there, this place was a great change of pace for a dinner.

Daniel Rosenhaus

We went early, like 6pm New Years Day when it wasn't crowded and we loved it! The dumplings were lightly fried, crispy on side and soft on the other. Hot stone beef bowl and B10 pork and kimchi stir fry were awesome. Flavor, filling and fresh, the bowl was sizzling for a while! Service was fine, we just had to ask for things, but this could be an issue if it was more crowded. Seating can be tight too later. Overall, we highly recommend and will be back.

Jorge Camuñas

Tasty! Excellent service! Wide variety.

The food is Ok. This restaurant works if you want Korean food and can't go far.

Would absolutely recommend trying out this place. Awesome ambience, delicious food, excellent customer service. 5 stars.

Yuck. The seafood pancake was all scallion. No seafood. And dripping with grease. It was takeout or I would've sent it back.

I go here when I'm desperate for Korean food. Otherwise I go to ktown. The food here is mediocre at best.

Brent Aguilar

There's a small buffet section- it's rather large in space but only a few choices. Soon tofu soup, chap chae, dduk bokki, noodles with broth, or fish cake and some cold items such as salmon, bacon wrapped cantaloupe. They didn't have miso soup and I kind of missed it a little while eating galbi.

Roxanne Feldman

Albert Min

Ain't the best, but it's got a homey feel (always makes me think of my grandfather's farm in Korea). Definitely the only real Korean restaurant in the area worth visiting when you can't make it to K-town.

Elle Wang

Food is good. Try the lunch special. Service could be well, let's just say not good... very small space. Go if you don't care about the service.

pipil321

Best Korean food and NYC !!!!

Owen Davis

Bimbimbap. Get it sizzled.

Henry Hu

It's a typical Korean restaurant. The hot bibimbap is good. It provides small dishes as free appetizers, typically 4 dishes.

Benjamin Mann

Best bibimbap on the UWS, but doesn't compare to k-town.

On Dec 9, 2015 our party of three dined at The Mill Korean, a restaurant at 2895 Broadway and W. 113th Street near Columbia University in New York City. Since it was packed with Korean students, we assumed we would find a good, inexpensive Korean meal there and we were right. We read the menu, looked around at what others were eating and asked the waiter a few questions, and then made our choices. One of our party chose the tigum udon soup, a mild but very tasty and filling seafood broth that included thick Japanese noodles, shrimp, vegetables and other ingredients. The second person had saewoo bokumbop, which was a combination of shrimp and fried rice. The third somewhat spicy entrée chosen was the kimchi and pork dolsot bibimbop, which consisted of pieces of pork, cooked vegetables and kimchi (Korean style fermented vegetable) set atop a mound of rice and topped with a chili pepper sauce. All of the dishes were very tasty and satisfying, they were straight-from-the-stove hot and the price was right: $44.00 for three entrees, excluding tax and tip. A nice complimentary Korean tea was served. Will be back to explore the rest of the menu. Definitely recommend.

Henry Flory

good solid korean food for very good prices.

Steph Alexis

This was my first time having Korean so it was pretty good. Something that bored me though was the service. I noticed how all of the other customers (asians) were treated differently then me and my friend. Others were given a pitcher of water and we had to ask them for it. When we were finished we weren't asked if we wanted anything else they just brought the check right away. My friend wasn't finished with her food but when she had walked away to go to the bathroom they grabbed all of our plates. I would understand the rush MAYBE if it was really busy. But it wasn't busy it was just full inside. I would have liked to have sat a little longer had some tea and tried a dessert (if it was available). They aren't really stroller friendly or have high chairs available for the young ones. If your looking for cheap good food this is the spot. Just expect that you'll be rushed out after they think you've finished.

I just love their food. I always get great customer service here. The place is neat and the staff members are always very kind. Keep up the good work.

Okay this is the first time I ever feel I gotta review a restaurant... I would seriously not give any star if I could. Long story short, the food is incredibly disgusting--I eat Korean food all the time and have never ever known a place cook like this one, I mean...it's just food, right? Just cooking, how hard is that? Yes ofc some people can't cook but it's not the reason for those whom run a restaurant. Just a heads up here: stews taste like weird-flavored water, pancake is always sticky to itself and all you can see is barely cut scallion and greasy cheap paste, and even the beverage is a nightmare--for example, the pink lemonade taste like a mix of strong essence and cheap saccharin...I really don't understand, it's just a glass of lemonade, people, how hard it is to make that taste better?! Did you bought some fake syrup from a chemical factory?? I understand there are ups and downs for running a restaurant, but this....this is just impossible. Don't eat here, just go to Ktown or try some other cuisine nearby.

Matt Kim

Richele Stephen Suwita

Food was really okay. Some of the waiters were little rude with me and my colleagues.

Dirty Rotten Apple

Oh, you will love it. We drive from Brooklyn to get this fix. Worth the train ride or drive. Outside eating is great!

Hyun Jee Lim

Honestly idk why people's reviews are so harsh..like I go here all the time because it's convenient and close to Columbia campus. I would say the food is pretty authentic and price is just normal NYC price. I'm just a sad kid and I go alone pretty often too lmao and they are always very nice to me. They have great delivery service too if you are a lazy person like me and don't want to walk 2 blocks.

Patrick Yoo

You order jjambbong, you get a stink bug soup.

Yong-Ha Kim

This place gives Korean food a bad name. If you want real Korean food, I would find somewherelse. Jjajang noodle had the most "artificial" taste that I had in my life. Spicy pork was not even marinated properly. I would rather recommend the Korean food trucks that stop by near Columbia.

Karen Rait

Despite the old beat down decor , the food at this upper west side/columbia university is solid Korean fare. The Bulgogi is fantastic!! The bim bim bomp is great and the service is top notch! Try if for lunch when the prices are lower, although the dinner prices are very reasonable!

Sudhir Bhargava

I want to rate this place 4 and a half but I don't have that choice so 5 it is. Half less only because they don't have the bbq on the table option even though some tables have the set up. Having said that, the pre-cooked bbq food is excellent (as is all the food I've had here). I'm a little surprised reading some of the reviews here. I haven't tried the food truck (I like to dine in) but I like the food in comparison to other Korean places I've tried. The staff are laid back and friendly and, to be honest, there have been times I picked this place to dine over other Asian restaurants in the area because of the smiling staff and nice atmosphere in this restaurant (I forgot to mention that they have cozy wood interiors which are welcoming in the cold).

Malini Riddle

Good food, fast and attentive service.

Tudor Popescu

I keep coming back to the Mill because, despite fairly poor service, the food is really good and the ambiance is cozy. There are virtually no other Korean restaurants on the UWS, so you might as well enjoy this one.

Zombie Horde

The staff is nice; the food, not so much. The fish dishes are not fresh at all and possibly the worse Korean food we've ever had. We used to eat here when the food was better (10+ years ago), I don't think I'll ever eat here again.

Xiaobo Yu

Ray Jr

LAN DUO

The worse service I've ever have.

Sharath Koorathota

Terrible service and food. Served cold tea to start off, forgot to give water, when we asked for water they poured it in the cup with the tea still in it, no one checked in on us for 30 minites and had to get someone for check. When I tipped 10% for bad service, the waitress followed me out of restaurant to ask for a higher tip. I eat in a lot of restaurants in the area and haven't had an experience like that!

Eliza Literato

The place is almost always full. The ambience is cozy and you are transported to a Korean provincial home. The dishes are tasty and savory. The drinks are cool and unique, my kids call them "yummy" and are always looking forward to the green and pink lemonade or the lime ricky. This is one of our neighborhood gems. The prices are affordable for those on a budget . Service is fast. The different authentic Korean dishes are very tasty and are worth the try at each visit. The restaurant is very clean . This jewel of a place definitely adds vibrance and color and uniqueness to our diverse neighborhood.
