A plus all around! Unique experience. Funky yet upscale decor along with sweet, personable servers makes eating at a "fancy" place feel laid back and non judgemental. The food was out of this world amazing. I knew going in I was getting the grilled romaine and it did not disappoint! My bf says the crab cakes are the best hes ever had, and that was my meal! His appetizer, the pork belly, was melt in your mouth delish. The best ive ever had! I cant say enough about this place... EAT AT MATT'S RED ROOSTER GRILL!

Another Christmas Eve and another spectacular meal...this has become a family tradition and we are sure thrilled with that - while we frequent this fine restaurant as often as our schedule permits, there is always something different about Christmas Eve.....decoartions and seasonal hints are tastefully done.....menu varied and appealing enough to make your choices difficult at best.....the steaks, the duck, all fabulous.....i enjoyed crab mac and cheese while others tried that evenings special soup and salads.....the meals themselves were perfectly timed, executed and wonderfully tasteful.....then desserts - creme brulee for the ladies and cheesecake for the males - jjust delicious....service from Cindy and team was awesome.....great job Chef Matt and Team - enjoy your holiday, we had a great start!!!!

Matt's never disappoints. The whole atmosphere is warm and inviting. It is lively without being frenetic. The food is always beautifully prepared and ingredients come together in a thoughtful and innovative manner. Started with grilled calamari in a chipotle cream sauce, beautiful smoky and creamy deliciousness. Also oyster special grilled with spinach and parm, satisfying and delicious. Scallops and rib eye melt in your mouth. A meal to remember and look forward to!

Charming, comfortable restaurant with two floors in an old Victorian home near "Flemington Furs" and the outlets. Food is very good and inventive. They specialize in wood-fired entrees, mostly meats, but also a Caesar salad.

We have been coming here for years to celebrate special events, birthdays, anniversaries etc. and it never disappoints. The food is expertly prepared with fresh and creative ingredients. The service has always been prompt polite and accommodating. There was one time that we had to wait over 30 minutes to be seated for a reserved table but the situation was handle professionally. If the dry aged steak is on the menu it is a must try, but everything we have ever ordered has been great.

We had two different appetizers, the flat bread and brie and the Lobster Bisque. They were both unique and delightful. I had the Tuna which was prepared with three different dipping sauces. The Tuna was grilled perfectly (Rare) and with the sauces had a wonderful flavor. My wife had the NY boneless strip that was also prepared perfectly with a port wine demi-glaze and mushrooms. We share a excellent bread pudding for dessert.

you've got to get the soup sampler...i've never had one i didn't love. every course has something remarkable. the toppings for the steaks are the perfect addition, and the waitstaff remembers us even after weeks away. this is where we take any friends or family from out of town. outdoor seating available, weather permitting.

Went to dinner with coworkers. When you arrive, it looks liked an older, large house that has been made into this restaurant. Very nice atmosphere. There was a full house (no pun intended...lol) but we had reservations and were led to a room upstairs. Without going into great details, impeccable service, great food tastefully presented and wonderful desserts. If you want a wonderfully leisurely dinner or have a special occasion/function, I would highly recommend this place.

We had heard good things about this place and wanted to stop in for a Valentine's dinner. It was tough to get a reservation the weekend after the holiday, but we were able to get a spot. The restaurant is cozy, warm and bright, and I love that you can actively watch the "kitchen" while the chefs do their thing. The service was amazing! Throughout the night, the staff was friendly and accommodating. The calamari was the most tender calamari I've ever had (and I've worked on fishing boats - I'm super picky with my squid). My boyfriends NY strip was larger than advertised and so tender, he didn't need the steak knife to cut it. I loved that I could bring my own wine to enjoy. Erin, the owner, came over and chatted with us for a bit which was really nice. The bill added up at the end, but the quality of the food, service and ambiance was well worth the price. We'll be back soon!

Dinner last night with my wife was as wonderful as always. Fresh day-boat scallops offered as an appetizer special were excellent, fresh and cooked to perfection. A dozen raw oysters couldn't have disappeared down our throats any faster - also perfectly fresh and sweet. The cold grilled vegetables known as Summer Chop Chop were also great, nice smokey flavor. And keeping the seafood theme alive, I had a Striped Bass filet with mushrooms (also a special of the evening) and my wife had a generous portion of Salmon - again, both were fresh and perfectly cooked - excellent dishes. A nice chat with Owner Matt McPherson, a final sip of our BYO wine, and another great meal at Matt's is in the books!

First time at Matt's Red Rooster...and went there on a first date...dined on the porch. Facility is excellent, service was excellent, server (Taylor, if I recall correctly) was very sweet and did an excellent job...and the food was SPECTACULAR (and by that I mean SPECTACULAR!) As for my date? My Dad taught me a gentleman never arrives with empty hands...so I brought her some flowers. As pretty as they were, they were nothing compared to her beauty! What an awesome night! Thanks, Matt's Red Rooster for my most memorable evening!

Food was pretty good but the service was pretty terrible. Getting a glass of water was pretty much impossible. Cream and sugar for your coffee...good luck. When we asked for a manager they told us they went home already. If your going to pay $40 for an entree the service should be at least OK...this wasn't close. The restaurant is also extremely noisy. People were basically yelling to be heard by the person next to them. Romantic dinner for two... Not here.

From the minute we walked in to Matt’s Red Rooster I was impressed, the first thing I noticed was how extremely clean it was and how pretty it was decorated. We were promptly seated and our server Cindy immediately made us feel like family. The menu has a vast and eclectic array of items which was a nice surprise. We started our meal with carrot ginger soup and the shrimp bisque which were mouth watering! Then the real treat began with our main courses, I had the ribs and my husband had the stuffed pork. Maybe the best meal I’ve had in years! For dessert we had the peanut butter bomb ... and it was the bomb! The owner was behind the line cooking and I had to let him know what a great job his staff was doing. It was a pleasure speaking with him. What a gem and right here in Flemington, we can’t wait to go back!

I rarely write reviews here, but I had to write one for Matt's. We had dinner here after riding the BR&W train nearby. Everything about this meal was perfect, the decor was very nice, but not pretentious, the service attentive but not intrusive, and the food was absolutely divine! We had the chicken and waffle (a seasonal appetizer), and the pumpkin ravioli to start. Bliss! For our mains, we had the Ahi tuna, and the filet mignon. Both were excellent! For dessert we split the trifle, which was a special that night. I wish I had more of it right now, it was so good! Words fail me in describing the food, it was that amazing! We are already looking for an excuse to go back.

Recently enjoyed a celebration luncheon. Delicious grilled romaine salad, perfectly cooked veggies and good bread. People enjoyed their entrees. Wait staff very professional and helpful. Be aware upstairs room has steep steps if someone has difficulty walking. Could center tables be any closer to walls as people had trouble getting through including servers? Convenient parking. Upstaris perfect for a small gathering ,especially when open just for your party.

Small restaurant in a converted older home. Sit at the bar and watch the chefs create magic. The kitchen is exceptionally clean. The flavor pairings meld in your mouth.
