I order from here at least 3 times a week for lunch. I enjoy eating real food, not that processed gunk that's served to us from places I won't mention lol. I had a steak sandwich with real steak, soooo delicious.....Luigi's is one of the best local restaurant and I'm happy to continue supporting and gaining weight lol

first time I ever ordered from Luigi's and I order the grilled chicken sandwich. Delivery was pretty fast. The sandwich was pretty dam good. I have worked in Newark for over 2 years and I am so tired of the usual food around here. I am happy I found this new restaurant. They seem like a real Italian restaurant with fresh ingredients.

Girl friend and I shared clams oreganata, delicious whole clams baked with thick bread crumbs, delicious. Then shared fried calamari, perfect. Then she had tortellini alfredo, I had gnocchi a la Luigi, both terrific. My gnocchi was with chunks of prosciutto and peas in a pink sauce, every morsel just wonderful. Having had a "little more" to eat than we should have, we shared a cannoli, very fresh, and espressos, me a double, hot, strong, excellent crema, the best. Service by Josie was great. Highly recommend.

We started with calamari, which was fresh and delicious. Not that frozen stuff other place push out. A huge difference in quality and taste was present. They served us a pitcher of ice and glasses for our wine. Fresh french bread with a high quality olive oil for dipping. The oil was so tasty I wanted to drink it!

I actually ordered to pick up. The calamri was soft not as crispy as i wouldve liked and the sauce was lacking flavor it was too acidic. The penne w/vodka was dry it couldve used a bit more sauce I like my penne w/vodka with enough sauce where all my pasta is covered evenly. The meatball with spaghetti was not bad. I wanted to be fair so thats why I gave them a 3 Stars.

The food is always outstanding. From lobster to crispy duck, you simply can't go wrong. The outdoor patio is beautiful. The staff can be a bit pretentious but they are exacting and available. Service is excellent.

I’ve been coming to this place for years and never had a problem with the food but I have to say otherwise about the staff. My husband and I came to celebrate his birthday on Thursday 8/22 for lunch and noticed a lot of things that shouldn’t be happening in a restaurant, firstly we were seated and given menus we waited 15 minutes to order our meals because no one was attending to us. Second the woman who was our waitress(a heavy set woman who didn’t give her name) smelled horribly like smoke and wasn’t very pleasant. While I do understand people smoke no one should be serving food and talking to customers when their breathe and clothes smell like smoke. When I attempted to get the waitress’ attention for a refill she held up hand and told me to wait while she was on her cell phone. Then when I asked to speak to a manager I was told he was not around, with an attitude. I’ve always loved this place but I’m not sure if we’ll return if we have to deal with that same waitress.

Still the best Italian food in ALL of North Jersey. Had the special tonight - fried cod with hot peppers. But the rigatoni arrabbiata, steak pizziaola, chicken Luigi, and of course the zuppe di pesce are fantastic. Don't forget to start your meal with the arancini and spiedini. Excellent food made just like Nonna used too. Been here a 100 times and will probably come back 100 more. I could go on but unless you come here yourself, you will never know why I claim it's so good!

Taking our son to the Newark Airport and had some time to kill. We were in that time between Lunch and Dinner, 3 to 4 pm and some in our small group were thinking dinner, some lunch. The nice people at Luigi's said no problem. We were given both lunch and dinner menus and everyone ordered. All dishes were great, some how we all had chicken breast with different sauce, each one fresh, bright and very good. My chicken parm was one of the best I've ever had, we shared an antipasto salad and an artichoke, both very good. Last we shared two desserts a Tiramisu and chocolate mousse very large servings more than enough for four. The only negative was Luigi's is BYOB and we would have liked a glass of red, but we'll know better next time.

I ordered the salad special which was mixed greens, avocado, roasted red peppers, and bacon with mozzarella. The salad was very fresh and filled with a terrific blend of flavors. The lemon oil vinaigrette dressing was light and tasty. The salad was served with fresh bread, which tasted fresh out of the oven. My friend had a dream salad which she enjoyed very much. My other friend had homemade pasta which she liked as well - she had a large serving and took half home. Service was excellent and not too crowded for a business lunch. Reservations were not needed.
