REVIEWS OF Le Bernardin IN New Jersey

The best. The quality of ingredients is second to none. Every dish had a surprise and the menu really let the ingredients sing without over powering the dish. The Langostino was the best and the sole. Leave room for the chocolate tart. Fantastic service. Well deserved 3 Michelin star restaurant.

Le bernardin is almost always my first stop in NYC. After the plane, I make a stop to the bar and have the salmon tartare. It's fabulous. The food is exceptional the dessert's by Thomas Raquel are out of this world!

Edith Caldwell

Tricky getting a reservation, but worth the effort. Sometimes they have cancellations and you can set up a notification where they will alert you - book those quickly as others receive the same notice. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch with attentive but not overbearing service. The space has been beautifully decorated. Highly recommended.

Can I rate this a 10? I went on my one year wedding anniversary. We ordered the tasting menu. I have never had such a pleasurable experience at a restaurant before. From the decor to the service. It was a fully immersive dinner from the way the food was served to the texture and taste. Worth every penny.

Zulma Santiago

Everything is excellent here, the food, service, atmosphere. If you want an unique experIence, Le Bernardine is the place.

Marc Yarascavitch

We enjoyed dinner at Le Bernardin as a guest at a business function. The atmosphere was refined, food was exceptional in presentation and flavour, and the service was attentive and professional. Any stars this restraint has are earned. Many of the flavour combinations weren’t something I’d imagined before and were new to my palate. The wine pairings were nicely assembled.

Kevan Gray

Delicious and good size portions...I'd go back again !!!

So I sat down and began to enjoy the delicacy and my seat combusts! My buddy Tommy almost died! Overall, a very pleasing experience :)

Charles Lamb

Arguably this is one of the top five restaurants in NYC. The food, service, wine, and ambiance were all outstanding. I'd return in a heartbeat. Reservations are hard to come by, but worth the wait.

One of the most gorgeous (and expensive!) places a person could be lucky enough to visit, but trust me, the taste is worth is every penny. Every bite is delicious, every dish is beautiful, and you are treated like a king or queen. This place is famous for their seafood, but have vegetarian options as well.

Jonathan Dupras

Amazing meal, great and friendly efficient service. We had the chef tasting menu, a three hour affair filled with surprise and amazing food. While the staff is definetly french, very good care is taken to make sure every guest feel special and important, either if you are a regular or visiting for a special occasion. While very expensive, i would not hesitate to return for the high quality seafood and amazing wine we had during out evening. The apple dessert is a definite must!

Stefanus Du Toit

What a culinary delight. The food itself is excellent, full of flavor, and beautifully presented without going over the top. The atmosphere is relaxed and modern. The wine selection was broad and wine pairings were excellently matched with the food. But what stood out for me most was the service from the staff. Everything was exemplary: From seating me as a lone diner at a fun spot central to the dining room, to accommodating a last minute request for a friend to join for the last few courses. The staff made me feel welcome and were friendly throughout. For what this institution is and how it compares to other fine dining restaurants around the world, I'm also quite surprised at the relatively reasonable prices.

jian liang

Excellent service. Average food. Bread spread was fine. Kampachi was good. Crab not so good. Wagu and walu too fatty together. Peach desert was fine. Didn't like the salty edible pit. Chocolates were ok. coffee was bad. Overall not worth the $$$.

Keith Poole

Although I wasn't sent home with a copy of the menu like at other fine dining establishments, the food was so stellar that I remember every single course I ate. From the multi-tiered Lazy Susan canapés to the tuna tartare with caviar to the corn-hibiscus dessert, everything was executed perfectly with delightful textures

Donna Palmieri

Truly an exceptional experience! I have nothing but the highest praise for what Eric Ripert has built. The menu items are unique and creative and outstanding! The presentation is spectacular, and the service is second to none. The staff treats each customer like a VIP! Would highly, highly recommend. The experience is one that you will never forget! Le Bernardin has set the bar so high that no other restaurant in the world that I've dined in even comes close. It is well-deserving of its 3 Michelin stars.

Eddie Cramp

Had a blast during my birthday celebration here! Their seafood platter was absolutely gorgeous! The place was sleek and the staff were exceptional!

Doug Anderson

If you're a foodie and IF MONEY DOESN'T MATTER, this is heaven. Everything about the service is first rate and the food is sublime. We've been coming for dinner about once/year since it opened. Four course dinner now costs about $600 all in unless you order a crazy bottle of wine

Bianca Sias

Get to know your service staff. They are awesome!

What a delicious meal and evening spent at Le Bernadin The Best

James Higa

I don't wear a suit often but I'll knot up that tie without hesitation for a meal here. Hailed as the best seafood restaurant in NYC. No argument from me there. The 3-course lunch for $80 is the way to go. It's a down right luxurious epicurean experience. It's hard to be decisive with the menu but don't fret. Every dish will be more inventive than you imagined. Just do it. Get dressed up and splurge on yourself and someone special. You deserve this. experience for way less than at dinner.

Crichton Colley

I loved this place. The staff was very kind and attentive.

Leah Nelson

I understand why this place has three Michelin stars. Even though my friends and I simply had a casual lounge dining experience and no reservations, it was an experience that dwarfed all other fine dining adventures I have had around the world.I am not even exaggerating. The old couple seated next to us informed us that at one point this was the best restaurant in the world and I completely believe it. The service and space was literally out of the movies.

Every New Yorker should come to this place. If you haven't been here then you're not considered a New Yorker. lol. The place is so amazing with a very nice atmosphere and the ambiance was through the roof good as well. Every dish tastes so good; my family loved every bit of our time here. So big congratulations to Le Bernardin. Again, it is a must for everyone in New York to come to this place.

This was my first three star Michelin dining experience and it met all of my expectations. My girlfriend and I ordered the Le Bernardin tasting menu and it came out to around $500 for two after tax and gratuity (without wine pairings). While most of the food (at least on the tasting menu) is on the conservative side with nothing too outlandish or unconventional, the ingredients used are combined and cooked in such a masterful and harmonious way that it still leaves a lasting impression well after you finish the meal. The salmon and the butternut squash soup were undoubtedly my favorite from the night. The bread that comes with the meal, while acceptable, was not really noteworthy and you'll likely find better from any random bakery in France (more of a testament to French bread). This is hardly worth subtracting a star, but if I had to find a complaint this would be it. Part of paying the greater than average price to dine at a place like this is also for the unique experience. The staff were all excellent and extremely knowledgeable about the food. Our waiter divulged to us that Le Bernardin acquires it's salmon sustainably from a salmon farm in the Faroe Islands. This fact probably won't change how you feel about the taste of the salmon, but certainly augments the dining experience. Overall, highly recommend. Be sure to make a reservation first as well and note that jackets are required for men in the dining room.

Federico Gergen

Terrific wine service. Great food, French with a twist. We were deeply satisfied with all aspects of Le Coucou. The atmosphere was very enjoyable.

David Medina

Impeccable service. Outstanding cuisine. That's what you come here for. Doesn't disappoint .

Amber Cook

Great seafood with a cozy setting in Le Bernardin. Wonderfully relaxing atmosphere with exceptional food! Very high quality food and service. Great wine selection too.

Kiwiinbikini

What an amazing experience!! Enjoyed myself truly!

Myra Vitug

Extremely is very nice place. Great wine selection, friendly staff, great food. It's a small space but very delicate. Food menu is awesome. food is tasty service is excellent. Nice.

Justin Wilber

I was excited to try this restaurant, and I must say; possibly the best seafood dishes I've ever Tasted, and worthy of 3 Michelin stars!

Pablo Kvitca

Wonderful food with varied flavours. The Salmon tasted delicious, and so did all the desserts.

Lee Lackey

Great spot... fancy... be aware that there is a dress code (you cannot get in with t shirt and flip flops) Best gourmet restaurant in NYC!!! Woow! Expect quality than quantity!! Pretty pricey but really worth it!

Brayden Moore

Absolute perfection. An absolute institution, with bar-none the best service and seafood preparation you can find. Service is incredibly professional, with a team of black tie waiters doting at just the right moments. The food is similarly wonderful, and we were lucky enough to be given a complimentary salmon tartare turning our already bargain 3-course lunch to a fantastic 4-course lunch. If you want to experience the utmost of fine dining on a budget, go as a couple (or bring a friend) and sample everything on the City Harvest menu, you won't be disappointed.

Gotham Makker

Best in nyc. Fantastic value for Michelin 3 star in nyc. Amazingly Flavorful, and not 5000-10000 calorie bombs like many Michelin star restaurants.

Paul Hayes

extremely high end, great wine selection, friendly staff, great food. It's a small space and some what cozy. It's not a place for a large group or corporate event although they do have a space for that for rental (i inquired). it's across the little walk way. It's a wine bar with space upstairs.

Ravi Deva

Fantastic in every way. We got the 3 course Prix fixe and everyone loved it. Desserts too we're unbelievably good.

anthony chen

Dropped over $600 dollars for two at this 3 star michelin restaurant and it was worth every penny I spent. The lobster with red win gumbo sauce was to die for as for the appetizers and everything that was on the menu. I hardly ever give 5 star reviews on anything but there's a reason why they earned 3 stars! Come for taste, service, and experience. You won't be disappointed.

Eric Shaffer

I'm sure many reviewers with much more experience and expertise have documented the absolute delight that a visit to Le Bernardin entails. But I would be remiss if I did not try to describe it from the perspective of an average couple. From the moment we entered the door we were engaged by warm, respectful and attentive staff on every interaction from the coat check to waitstaff( ok, lost count) and sommelier. Plus several folks who just appeared to provide seamless but not intrusive attention throughout our visit. We chose the 4 course prix fixe menu which provided not only the courses listed but an amazing amuse bouche on a two- tiered swiveling server, and an extra dessert after dessert. Every question was answered with patience and passion by the obviously engaged and knowledgeable consummately professional staff. There was a wide array of choices for each level of the menu and we enjoyed sharing tastes of the various types. I really don't know how to describe just how superlative the food was. We've had many of the same things before, but never ever prepared in such a masterful manner. Each dish was a revelation of taste, texture and visual appeal. Enjoyed in a serene atmosphere of warm wood and muted grays which concealed the intense activity of service to each diner, this was absolutely one of the peak dining experiences I ever hope to have. Thanks to all! Enjoy!

Consistently epic. Every meal. Something people inside and outside New York should get to enjoy if they are ever presented with the opportunity. It is refreshing to know Old-school quality and tradition married with New-School style can exist and be executed to such an impressively perfect degree. This place is ridiculously amazing!

Jacqueline Pittman

This place will not disappoint. Though we came at some point of lunch, the carrier is pinnacle-notch. We had the pre-constant menu and opted for the lobster tail for extra and it was perfectly carried out and delicious. The complimentary salmon app turned into so scrumptious as nicely. Our dessert turned into additionally fantastically plated and provided.

Giorgio Ramaja

The best Michelin 3 star I have been to yet! The chefs tasting menu was MIND BLOWING! The fusion of flavors from one course to the next was flawless. The service was smooth and fast. The sommelier picked the perfect wine and really listed to me! We could not have had a better experience. Everything was truly perfection.

For years I wanted to have lunch at Le Bernardin but for some reason or another I always postponed it. I decided to go and have the three course lunch. Everything was beautifully perfectly cooked and presented. The service was very professional and the atmosphere was pleasant. The escallops and the dessert were especially remarkable. The main course was very good but it lacked a wow factor. Overall, it is a very good restaurant, but not as impressive/creative when compared to other Michelin three-star restaurants in Europe.

Georgina Kováč

Eveyrhing was better than I expected. Love this place !

Dined at this fantastic restaurant on our trip to New York and we were blown away by their service! Their tasting menu was amazing, hostess and servers were extremely nice and made our dining experience very memorable! I would highly recommend this restaurant

Nika Maisuradze

Beautiful ambiance, sensational service, and otherworldly food. Tried a range of seafood from shrimp to monkfish. All breathtaking. One of the best dining experiences of my life. Ripert has outdone himself.

Sergio Fogel

Great food. Be careful, jacket is required

Keith Williams

I think that everyone has a great experience here. We ordered the prix fixe menu and supplemented that with some good wine. If you can afford the cost then you'll have a great, memorable evening. And if you are unsure about which wine to select then ask for help. They are as nice as anyone could possibly be to fit your taste and budget.

zvi gilinsky

Thank you for the best birthday experience. We came for lunch, had the chef’s tasting menu and the vegetarian menu. Both were amazing, the service was extraordinarily. Definitely a place I would come back to :)

Zheng Zhong

Had 3 course lunch in the lounge. Dishes are very well designed overall but not quite as delicious as I expected for the name and price. (Compared to Nougatine at Jean Georges) I think it’s a fine lounge that emphasizes sophistication more than taste. Will come back for its main dining room when get chance. Bread tastes very good.

Irving Patten

Excellent seafood, top quality and fresh. Their tasting menus offers an array of unique tastes that strikingly pleases the palette. I'm very picky with seafood, but they manage to amplify the flavors without wavering any of the freshness seafood is supposed to have. It is worth the $.

Dennis Garrett

Seafood paradise. Restaurant at the top of it game with innovated dishes and very pamper professional service. Wonderful wine pairings. Not for the budgeted minded.

Pamela Gupta

Everything you have read about dining here is true. It’s truly an experience. The food is delicious beyond words, and the staff are perfectly attentive without being intrusive. Wine pairings were perfect with the dishes served from the chef’s tasting menu. Already thinking about the next time I can have the sea bass.

Ernest Auerbach

Great staff, beautiful room, food brilliantly prepared. But portions hopelessly small, thus way overpriced.

Jason D. Smith

J'adore Le Bernardin! I highly recommend this restaurant, and specifically the lounge. The lounge is a bit more laid back, less noisy, and has the same manu + the beautiful bar, which you can sit at too. The lounge doesn't take reservations, so it's perfect if you just want to walk in to catch up with someone over drinks. I did the Bernardin tasting menu, which was exquisite. The staff, the food, and the cocktail I got were all outstanding. From the amuse bouche, to the perfectly balanced jus on the seafood. I'll definitely be back. To start: a small tower of amuse bouche came out. All were delicious, and beautifully presented. The bread then comes out, and I recommend the whole wheat nut bread. My favorite course was the grilled Walu and seared Wagyu. It was a very interesting mix and cooked to perfection. I also tried something not on the tasting menu (it's on the chef's tasting menu), which is the "egg", which had 3 different layers of dessert custards in an egg shell. It was absolutely delicious. They may also bring out little mini desserts (like mini financiers, or macarons), which are also outstanding and interesting flavor combinations. I recommend the MÛRE ON THE WALL cocktail, which is delicious, not too sweet and not too light on the alcohol. The maitre D's is very friendly, nice and accommodating. Available coat check and valet parking.

Brian Dixon

Treat you like royalty. Simply excellent food.

Nils Paellmann

My second time at Le Bernardin. One of the greatest eating experiences in New York or anywhere for that matter. Of course, Eric Ripert will forever (in my mind) be connected to Anthony Bourdain. RIP. Will always remember their great joint episodes in Parts Unknown including Marseille and the French Alps.

Steven Huynh

I honestly enjoy their food and service, good area close to my home. The workers are always nice. Highly recommended.

Mathew Diaz

Tricky getting a reservation, but worth the effort. Sometimes they have cancellations and you can set up a notification where they will alert you - book those quickly as others receive the same notice. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch with attentive but not overbearing service. The space has been beautifully decorated. Highly recommended.

During the polar vortex, I walked into the lounge of Le Bernardin, one of the best seafood restaurants in the world and was able to get a seat despite no reservations. I ate some of the best seafood I’ve had anywhere. Salmon tartare with house made chips was superb- great texture and seasoning. New Orleans grill prawns were delicious. The skate with lobster broth was one of the tastiest dishes I’ve ever had at a fine dining establishment. Bread service and all of the service was great.

Hank Du

My wife and I came here for her birthday. We tried their Le Bernardin tasting menu, such an experience. The service is excellent. For food, photos would tell everything and you have to be there to be surprised.

Min Cooper

Had the 4 course dinner and it was exceptional. Dinner started off with an amuse bouche served on a unique tower. Every dish was presented beautifully and more importantly tasted good. One of the real highlights was the octopus appetizer which was perfectly tender and had a nice char flavour. The 'apple' dessert was also spectacular. Beside being pretty to look at it was delicious and small touches like the little bits of sour apple added a nice bright contrast. After dessert they served petition fours which was a great touch. The service was also spectacular and definitely meet my expectations for this calibre of restaurant. They also had an amazing selection of bread where that was brought to the table for your selection. Even the process of giving customers bread was thought out. For each and every table, they refilled the bread played before coming over to your table so that you always have a full plate to choose from that doesn't looked picked through. Nice touch. Obviously this is a pricy restaurant and not something you'd go to regularly but it is definitely worth going to for a special occasion.

Teodoro Ornelas

Food is good, a bit too much when you're doing the taste menu. But the worst thing was how pretentious this place is. I came to this restaurant for a corporate event. I was well dressed, wearing a designer suit and leather shoes. The place was really hot, even though it was winter. I was sweating and took off my jacket. A waiter came a few minutes later and told me "the manager asked you to put on your jacket". It was very embarrassing, I considered leaving the place right then. I decided against that because I didn't want to make a scene and ruin my colleague's dinner. Anyways, I will never go to that place again.

We visited the Restaurant last month and their were incredible! The restaurant clearly offers many options and great service. The staff are friendly and attentive as well as knowledgeable.

Le Bernardin was one of the three higher end restaurants I visited in New York last month together with Eleven Madison Park. This one was the lesser of the tree. Definitely not saying that this was a bad experience though. The food was very good (went for the chefs tasting menu) . I personally wasn't a big fan of the drink pairing. The service itself was good but a little bit too formal.

Kate Kosche

Another amazing meal at Le Bernardin. We went for family celebration of a birthday. The meal was perfect, but I expected that. This time I spent some moments observing and appreciating the choreography of the staff. They are so well trained they seem to have eyes in the back of their heads. The servers anticipate every move of the customers as well as each other. It truly was like a dance. Each course was timed perfectly. Not rushed, not too slow but exactly right. They were not just on point, but I felt they were still fully striving for the top. They were working for perfection. We had dinner fairly recently at EMP, and while the food was excellent, I had the impression of some complacency given their status. Not so at Le Bernardin. Despite all the years of three stars, they were still giving their all. Bravo!

Davey Singleton

We started with some complimentary assortment of bread such as sun dried tomato bread, focaccia with olives and quinoa bread. I loved the quinoa bread. Delicious with butter and had a good chew to it. My friend and I both ordered the bay scallops as the starter. Thinly sliced fresh scallops. So fresh and clean tasting. Served with thin slices of toasted baguette. Superb. We then ordered one of each for the entrée: Merluza and striped bass. Both fish were delicious and different which was great. Both were whitefish but the merluza was light and flakey while the striped bass was a bit meatier.

One of my best dining experience. Great food and brilliant service. I am glad that we went.

Radhika Puri

Food is amazing, Staff is adorable and top class dining and a great place to party. Interiors are Beautifully decorated.

Daniel Fosterman

We were very underwhelmed. We went for a lunch date and thought the food was just OK. I had the monk and my wife had the skate. The appetizers were pretty basic flavored. The smores dessert was amazing though. The decor was a bit dated, not sure if they were going for a certain look but it didn't feel purposeful. The staff were nice but the atmosphere was very stuffy and quiet as if it were sorta pretentious.

Avery Beist

This was a very anticipated experience. Service a d atmosphere were exceptional. Food very good but expected more of a wow experience, with more intense sauces. Many dishes. Barely cooked and while delicious were missing pizzazz. I wonderful experience but I don't think we will repeat it.

Vanessa Xiao

Great for seafood lovers and so far my favorite high end restaurant in nyc. Comfortable atmosphere, fresh seafood and relatively affordable price.

Sibyl T Moore

It's like you died and went to seafood heaven. Pretty much any type of fish or seafood you can imagine, prepared with perfect attention to their best qualities, in very creative and imaginative ways.

We've dined here quite a few times within the last twelve years. Both, the food and service have been superior with no compromise from day-one! It's sometimes a hassle making a reservation online since there's such a high demand for this place. The Salmon Rilette is delicious! We've had the Caviar Tartare a few times, and that too is really good. One of my favorites was a third course of the lobster. I really like the bread here. The deserts are delicious, but they're so pretty, I never want to touch them. Expect to be occupied for a while when dining here...it's not your typical quit dine and leave.

Reviewer Magic

Incredible experience, dined as a party of 2 for dinner and we were served some very fantastic food. The langoustines were amazing, Wagyu a must try and the birthday cake was delicious. Bill came up to about $500 with wine. Will return!

Samantha J

Beautiful place!!! Very clean! The staff was extremely friendly. The food was AMAZING! The attention to detail and presentation of the food was outstanding! I would highly recommend this place.

Manish Rajguru

Awesome food and service. Tough to beat whether lunch or dinner. Go often and try as many dishes as you can.

Superfly29er Dude

No words can describe how amazing the food and service was this evening. Expensive splurge, but after enjoying every bite it was absolutely worth every penny for the experience. Just wow and wow and wow again. We did the tasting menu with wine pairing and oh my..did I mention WOW. Their reputation for excellence is well deserved.

Ivy Nesti

Ate here a while back and had an amazing experience some of the best food I've tasted. This is a must try if you love French Cuisine.

Jerard Kemper

I was looking for something fancy because my girlfriend had birthday and I found this restaurant on Teddy's guide. I must say everything is this restaurant is amazing. The food, drinks, atmosphere, design and the customer service is great. We had a lovely dinner.

Radhika k

They never fail to get 5 stars! Eric is the best chef... love this place always!

Noam Sarfati

Lunch at the Dinning Room, Prix Fix menu. Expectations were met, definitely. Everything was superb but few dishes were extraordinary, mostly due to the rich and complex sauces that accompanied the ingredients. First class products cooked to perfection but the sauces are what make them devine. 3 Micheline stars rightfully deserved. Worth a special trip!

Wajiha Hyder

Our first time at a Michelin restaurant. We did the chefs tasting menu and everything was amazing. We loved the experience. I think my favorite was the lobster, kind of melts in your mouth. The desserts are to die for. We had the ginger and the apple tarte tatin. They were both exceptional.

Maureen Healy

Wim May

For the price and acclaim, I expect stronger ingenuity. I'm all fine with a traditional place, but the service wasn't invisible or personable - either would've worked for me but it was kinda middle of the road. In a truly great restaurant, I'd expect one or the other depending on the tables mood. The seafood was predictably good - but not IMPRESSIVE. The lobster was my least favorite dish, an impressive feat. Most dishes had a sauce that was poured. Could've used more diversity in presentation. Cocktails were good not great. Not outstanding flavor profiles or combinations, although I enjoyed the orange garnish design on my mezcal cocktail.

Marcus Johnson

Thanks Eric I was so happy to see a celebrity chef in their kitchen!

Steve Apple

For a special occasion! Without hesitation, Le Bernadin was the best dinning experience of my life. I hope to get back soon.

We enjoyed a fabulous lunch with attentive but not overbearing service. The space has been beautifully decorated. Highly recommended.

amazing for special occasion, loved the food the service and the design of the restaurant. a little pricey but worth it. accommodating for vegan and vegetarian options

The tasting menu was like being on an episode of the Chef's Table. The sommelier's wine recommendations could not have been better. We just returned home, and I still have a great taste and we feel a sense of wonder regarding all of the great flavors, the atmosphere, the friendly and professional service. And they brought out a mousse cake , having remembered the special occasion. You pay for what you receive, and in this case the memorable culinary experience validating the Michelin stars, all greatly exceeds the cost. Highly recommended.

I'm a big fan of Eric Ripert's, but this dining experience left a little to be lacking. Perhaps it was because of the awful head waiter, who was rude and dismissive and generally offensive. We complained to the maitre'd on the way out. The sommelier (Joe) and the rest of the wait-staff were excellent and could not have been nicer and served the level of professionalism one expects from Le Bernadin. As for the all important food. Of course it was good and meticulously prepared but rather boring. I won't go back. Checked this one off my list

Amazing food, attentive and extremely professional staff, flawless! Impress a date, get some business done, or just enjoy beautifully prepared and presented food from one of the world's culinary masters. It is expensive and you do get what you pay for in the attention to detail and the quality of the dishes.

Alexandria Howard

seafood... my favorite treat. Service is always timely even when they have a full house. The service was very helpful and welcoming. This place has a good feel to it.

Per Se lives in a world of its own. I find it quite unique. Restaurant nicely situated, great views of Columbus. Food amazing, wine list scary, all the usual adjectives apply. What's different is the atmosphere, its actually a fun place to be. Staff likeable and interested. Here's a pasta dish. You can't see pasta 'cos it's hidden behind the biggest mound of truffle I've ever seen. Then they came back and added more! A nice touch. Loved the place, it is serious food, top class dining but also a great place to party. Thanks

Had always been a big fan of A. Bourdain and E. Ripert and this restaurant had been on my list for a while and so on a trip to NYC, was able to secure a reservation a few weeks ahead. Was a little apprehensive because we had eaten at a comparable LA restaurant, Providence a year prior and it was a big $1300 disappointment. Even though I've lived in LA (Pasadena) for 30 years, the difference between the two restaurants is emblematic to the differences in the two cities. We had an amazing evening. The service was the opposite of Providence. It was warm, friendly, and classy all while being totally comfortable. My wife and I had the large tasting menu and our daughter had the smaller one. At Providence, the server told us that even though we explained that our daughter probably wouldn't eat all of the large tasting menu, he told us the chef preferred to serve everyone at the table the same. It didn't make any sense to me. The food and wine was as expected, spectacular. We sat next to a nice couple that we were able to engage a nice conversation with and the atmosphere of the entire restaurant was sophisticated without being too stuffy. It was a splurge for sure but really worth it!

What can you really say about a place like this. The food is world renowned. Every bite was just a new experience. They even have us a special treat for my special occasion. This is well worth the price tag and then some. So one star for each exquisite course, and two for the service and amazing cocktails 6 stars!!(French, seafood). Any night I want to really feel special I'm taking someone here. And for the love of all that is holy order the smore!!

Andrew Morris

Excellent food and impeccable service. Too expensive for every day, but wonderful for a special occasion.

Fantastic Lunch, Friendly Knowledgable Somm, an experience not soon to be forgotten. I booked our reservation as soon as the date became available online, usually two months in advance. The space was loud but luxurious. I know real estate in New York is expensive, but the spacing of tables could be more generous so I don't have to listen the adjacent table's conversation. Service was friendly, personable, and impeccable, befitting each Michelin star they earned. The food lived up to its reputation and exceeded my expectations. The tuna carpaccio was incredible, and the Faroe Island salmon was unlike anything I've had in my Seattle hometown, but what blew my mind was the dessert. I couldn't decide which one to get, so our server brought me both. They were works of art, almost too beautiful to eat. One was shaped and painted like an apple, but was actually pastry. Wow! Our sommelier was attentive and knowledgable, making sure I got the last bottle of the particular brut nature champagne I requested. By the way, this is a fancy restaurant, so ditch the baseball cap and tennis shoes. (Saw both on the way out. Really!) This is Midtown Manhattan. You aren't going to some dive bar, so dress appropriately. A jacket for the men is required, so if you don't wear one, they'll be happy to lend you their oversized, extra-long one.

Mymy Nguyen

Our first time at a Michelin restaurant. We did the chefs tasting menu and everything was amazing. We loved the experience. I think my favorite was the lobster, kind of melts in your mouth. The desserts are to die for. We had the ginger and the apple tarte tatin. They were both exceptional.

Eden Burks

Great food with nice service

Matt Borodinsky

I have to say, I was really blown away. I’m the person that pays attention to details, and this restaurant was spot on. The way the servers, server assistants, and managers worked in sync with each other was very impressive. Best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant. The food was UNREAL. Every dish had an unbelievable flavor, beautiful presentation, and it really was a true pleasure to dine here. They even made me a custom drink, and it was exactly how I wanted it.... tasted outstanding. Yes, this is a pricey restaurant but in my opinion, I felt the money was worth it. I will be returning soon. This restaurant holds true to its name and reputation. Oh... get the Dover sole. Best thing I’ve ever tried. EVER. Try it. Just try it. My reaction was “holy f***”

Since I was travelling alone, I say in the lounge. Everyone was very accommodating. Beautiful food, lovely service, and a great experience.

Brian Anber

Excellent seafood, top quality and fresh. Their tasting menus offers an array of unique tastes that strikingly pleases the palette.

Danny Queroli

During the polar vortex, I walked into the lounge of Le Bernardin, one of the best seafood restaurants in the world and was able to get a seat despite no reservations. I ate some of the best seafood I’ve had anywhere. Salmon tartare with house made chips was superb- great texture and seasoning. New Orleans grill prawns were delicious. The skate with lobster broth was one of the tastiest dishes I’ve ever had at a fine dining establishment. Bread service and all of the service was great.

Nate Johnson

Amazing restaurant, great wine selection, friendly staff, great food !!

lfred Harlow

Yummy in my tummy!!! Most delicious food and drinks I ever ate. This is my second time when I came here both of the time this place fulfill my every aspect and served the delicious food. Staff and waitress of this place are friendly in nature and a source of entertainment. I would happily recommend this place to anyone.

Beth Rota

Best of all the Manhattan 3 Michelin star awarded restaurants. Food, of course excellent, but the warmth and friendliness of service staff makes for a well rounded experience. Wine team is very knowledgable and table service team exceptionally professional. Thank you for an amazing dinner.

Paul Carter

For the experience alone. Worth it for an occasion of significance. Service outstanding. Food challenging for basic eaters.

Akash Pandeya

High quality food and great staff

Karen Cangero

The service, phenomenal. It's decor, understated and perfect. The food, excellent. The butter-poached lobster appetizer and pounded tuna appetizer were two of the best items of food I have ever eaten. Drink recommendations were spot-on. Our main courses were inventive and delicious and the desserts were to die for. Wish I had saved more room! Le Bernardin has earned its 5-star reputation for sure.

Lola

Just do it. Go with the chefs menu and call it a day. You will be back the next day. It's that good.

David Jaroslaw

Not much to add in a Google review of Le Bernardin. It's one of the finest restaurants in New York. Superb seafood-based dishes, weekend wines, fine desserts, consummately professional service. Noted dishes include the lacquered skate, the Dover sole, and the bacalao. The only downside is the at the end of the meal, when you have to pay the check...

R D

This was dining at its finest. My best culinary experience, by far. The ambience is incredible, the food delicious and the staff the most attentive.

Coco Violet

If I could only go to a single Michelin-starred restaurant in New York City for my entire life, it would be Le Bernardin. Everything here is meticulously crafted with only perfection and a refined elegance in mind.

Mark McIntosh

What an amazing experience! Chef Ripert and his team are wonderful. I have never experienced 'fish' in so many new and exquisite ways in such a short time.

Zachary Fried

Service and food live up to the hype. If you splurge, you won't be disappointed.

Lindsay Larsen

seafood and the scene at this spot is great. One of the best spots in the area. Feeling here is similar to a cafe in San Jose I liked.

Jeff Paul

Definitely recommend to experience this place. The best seafood restaurant! I come here for dinners from time to time when I visit New York. The service and food are always excellent. You will never be disappointed with your meal. Everyone is friendly and make sure you are having a great time.

Zoe Taylor

I have celebrated my birthday here. Extremely nice place. The ambience is outstanding, and food was really wow. I will visit again.

Adolf Hitler From Wii Kill Jews

Tuna was spectacular, tender to the bite. It's almost as if your biting on flavored air. Besides the food, the atmosphere was also a plus. Great customer service, and quick prep. I highly recommend.

Daniel Razumov

great place for sea food lovers

AIDS Benedict

The scallops were amazing and the bathroom was very clean.

Anne Fernandena

I have long been a fan of Eric Ripert and always considered going to Le Bernadin on my previous travels to New York but never quite made it there for one reason or another. This past July, i managed to secure a lunch reservation and went solo. The three-course pre fixe menu was stunning from start to finish. The service was also second to none, and whole experience, overall, one I will never forget.

Viktoriia Ieliashovych

OMG it is amazing place!!!! My husband and I went to lounge and enjoyed their dishes. We loved exceptional professionalism of waiters who work there. Their language and moves were so unique and aristocratic. I enjoyed just talking to them and discussing menu. We tried a lot of dishes, but my favorite was seafood causa and lobster cappuccino. It was amazing experience worths every dollar

Andrea Ortiz

Very unique experience. The staff was amazing.

We were in for such a treat! Atmosphere, food service, everything to perfection. The monk fish i ordered was just the best i ever had, as well as the octopus appetizer. Not to forget the incredible deserts such as the Rhubarb, they even surprised us with a chocolate praline "BD" cake with candle. Sweet gesture!

amazing food 5 star service

Manu Garg

This is one of the best Michelin star restaurants I've been to in my life. Great service. Polite staff. Their oysters were absolutely divine! And not too expensive for an incredible fine dining experience.

yeeus sinn

I do have high hope in here since they are 3 star and well known for their seafood. I love seafood I grow up eating fresh fish everyday, and their seafood is just ok for me. nothing special the black bass for my main course is over cooked and I think there is sands in my bak choy, the first bite of the bak choy there is a very unpleasant crunchiness which just like chewing sands. I am not expecting that to be in a 3 star restaurant or any restaurant. there dessert has given them a lot of point, I love my corn and hibiscus dessert is new and fun stunning job on the meringue. if they have just dessert tasting I will go again, is the dessert which recuse this meal. the service is not as expected, the host is beautiful very welcoming make you warm. but the server and the runner is a rush no passion, I feel like he just wants to kick me out of the restaurant as soon as possible. ps. I think they need some new uniform for the runner because there cuff is all broken and tear apart. some new dishes too I have two chipped plate.

Alex Mathers

Great restaurant to take guests. Because of such it is always full but sitting at the bar is just as good as getting a table. Staff is very friendly and welcoming

Matt Smith

We ate the most delicious food I have ever eaten at the Le Bernardin restaurant. The entire team is very focused and they will do their best to ensure you have the best time. We also went to see the opera, it was so wonderful, the beautiful and lovely voice made me want to cry.

Quinton Hays

Probably the best seafood restaurant I've ever eaten at. My partner and I just got back from vacation from Rogers Arkansas and this made my trip. Yuuuuum

Alexander Gribtsov

Came for a fancy bite at the lounge after the NYC IECSC Spa show. The lounge menu is perfect, we tried every dish on the menu and paired everything with a Spanish red, it was an exquisite experience full of unique flavors, worth the check. The restaurant is upscale dress code, I’ll definitely recommend stepping up your dress game if you get reservations for the prefix. Decor was beautiful and the staff were very polite, attentive and knowledgeable. I’ll be coming back without a doubt.

We had the chefs tasting menu. It was all delicious. The service was also fantastic, each dish was meticulously described which enhanced our enjoyment. Personal favorite was the langoustine... with everything else a close second! The rosemary focaccia was incredible. I don’t even usually like focaccia and had far too much! The s’more dessert was beyond fantastic. If they had tasted like this I might still be a girl Scout! Expensive...but worth it.

Maik B

Just Greatful and enjoyable. A taste of heaven. Very friendly stuff. Perfect Comfort and Decoration. Conclusion: Clear Recommendation for an visit.

Julie Kenar

Absolutely stunning food and service! We had the chef's tasting menu and wine pairing. The wine pairings were so seamless with the food. The staff was incredibly warm and friendly too.

Dan Gray

Great food. Well worth the visit when the chef's care so much about making people happy.

Gina Smith

This place is awesome! the food was great and the staff was very accommodating!

Ruth Wallace

This is another Must See and try. Outstanding restaurant. Impeccable service. Absolutely delicious food. Wonderful experience!

Kit Katt

To this day Le Bernardin is hands down my favorite restaurant in the U.S...it will set your bar high enough to need a pole vault to jump over! No, but in all seriousness the food is extraordinary, service is as great as the food! They treat you like royalty. Beautiful interior as well as the over-all experience. When you want to celebrate something major or celebrate in a major way; think of this place! or equally if you just want to treat yourself in an extravagant way , this is the place to do it.
