I would recommend the escargot appetizer and the butternut squash soup or french onion. Great appetizers, soups, and deserts. The entree/main course was good but it was the same size as the apps and was on the same level taste scale. The staff is super knowledgeable about everything which is super helpful. My girlfriend and I recently eat at La Tour after read several spellbinding reviews of the "best restaurant" in NJ and we did not agree and here is why. We both lived in NYC & North Jersey for the last 15 years so we are accustomed to dining out. We like to travel and enjoy diners wherever we go. To add a wrinkle we are both single parents so our time and money is now very precious. The Dinner Very nice decor and the staff was friendly we ordered the Crab Crepes which we both enjoyed. Next she ordered the Seafood Risotto which looked much better than it tasted; a little bland. I ordered the Chicken dish which was basically tasted like a boiled piece, the sauce was lame (which I expected to make the dish). The desert was by far the best part of the meal; Pear Tart & Apple Tart were both awesome but the pleasure wore off quickly with a high bill for what be both agreed to be an average meal. Now we are not cheap and don't mind paying for a good meal but lately we hate overpaying for mediocrity. Had the pricing been in line with a lunch style bistro, we would have felt the meal had some value. No recommendations here except we wished we checked out the place next door instead.

Wonderful traditional French restaurant, affable people who features seasonal produce from his own farm. There is a Price Fixe menu available Monday thru Friday. Excellent food served graciously in a lovely setting. Parking is a minimal hassle.

Great service, but outside of the staff, this place is faux fine dining. Menu is too expensive for what is offered and the actual items are fairly plain for someone looking for something unique. I can get Brie and Camembert at Stop n Shop, at least spring for something raw milk if you are going to put brie on a cheese plate. Good place, but it will not deliver the WOW that Park Side or Village Green will give for the same, if not less, price.

The best restaurant if you are in the mood for French food. The chef is a master of his craft. Cheese souffle, foie gras, and beef Wellington are a must try on your first visit. We also had Dover Sole and it was to die for. Grab a bottle of nice wine with you and you are guaranteed an amazing evening with Michelin Star level cuisine.

Very nice. Good service and good food. The space is a bit noisy with all hard surfaces: wood floors, tin ceiling, plaster walls. Fois gras was superb. Also very pleased with the sole and Beef Wellington. Desserts were just fair. I would have been happier if I had just skipped that.

Amazing food. Ambiance not up to par compared to the food they serve but well worth the visit. Ordered pan seared foie gras and it was AMAZING. A nice puff pastry complimented with cranberries and poached pear. For dinner had the pan roasted duck breast.

The menu looked enticing. The first taste of the roasted foie gras brought tears to my eyes. The traditional French onion soup was rich, cheesy and perfectly prepared. My short ribs were so delicious it almost made me giggle. The cassoulet with home made duck confit was the perfect dish for a chilly night with subtle yet rich flavors and textures. For dessert I had the fabulous home made profiteroles with a deep chocolate sauce.

Great place for small companies, service is great, meat and fish are tasty, only the lam was a bit too salty. The place itself is fairly quiet and friendly. Small enough to feel comfortable. The specials are something else. Would recommend to everyone who wants good food with comfortable atmosphere.

Food was amazing, had the special appetizer and lamb special entree and they were dang good. Perfectly cooked and delicious. Pricey but for the quality of the food you get your money's worth. BYOB. Only complaint is that the bathroom could use a remodel and some better cleaning. Like seriously, the bathroom was 1/5 stars. Service, atmosphere, and everything else was great.

What else can be said about this beautiful and cozy French restaurant in Ridgewood. The food was elegant and yet filling at the same time. The dim lighting and artwork made you feel as if you were right in France. Although you may think this place is expensive, the price is worth every cent. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Outstanding American food in a spacious dining room that is quiet and civilized. Glass windows overlook the hills. Service is excellent. Located in a resort hotel. Definitely worth a trip. Note: our dinner was very expensive, but we went on Valentine's Day.

This was a lovely restaurant in a cute downtown area. No issue for 2 people to get a table during a weeknight. Service was friendly and not at all pretentious. The main reason for the 4 stars is the lack of vegetarian and healthy options. They worked with us but it was a very limited selection and it all included cheese. It was very good though and the chef was kind enough to come out to say hello. It was a very nice dining experience.

Everything was going great till one of the waitress’s told us to go home to our kids. Untrained , unprofessional and outright racist...the owners please take notice and disciple and train your staff or move your restaurant out of a diverse area like Ridgewood. I’m never going back until I get an apology.

It's been a number of years since I have been to Latour and I was not disappointed. The appetizer was scallops Rockefeller style with cheese and spinach. The tops of the scallops were seared, yet the rest of the scallop was tender. It was delicious. Bringing a nice bottle of Artesa Pinot Noir I ordered the Lamb medium rare. It was fantastic. Tender tasty just wonderful flavors. It was nice to see Michael still comes to every table to speak to his guests. Latour still has it. No minor feat after 18 years.

The appetizers are always a pleasurable experience. The Foie Gras is simply the best. Each course brings a delightful culinary surprise, that keeps you coming back. I have been going to Latour for years.

We went there as we prefer Indian food , the chef is from Calcutta India so you will find the taste of spicy and curry in all food . Don’t order there Kashmiri rooti it’s too sweet to go with spicy food , it really made my mood off, the beef was good but the chicken korma was so so . I will give the whole experience as average...

Not sure why everyone felt this place was so great. Frankly we were disappointed after waited for our table and Nobody even came to ask us if we had reservation ( which we did). For about 5 to 7 minutes we just stood at the door while everyone stared at us like we meant nothing. Then after we finally got our food, it was really bland, every dish got the same sauce no matter what you ordered. Plate was kept very hot so a medium rare piece of meat became medium or well done half way through the meal. The only thing that was okay to our standard was the seafood crepe appetizer. I can't really recommend this place for the price we are paying.

Excellent food with great presentation Seafood risotto was very good. Duck was perfect. Only two minor gripes are that one piece of fois gras was a bit too salty (2nd was perfect) and one of the desserts had ice cream paper piece trapped in it (dessert was comped because of that). Not taking a start for that because overall it was all excellent. Michael (chef) came out to check on the tables and confirm all the food was good.

Crazy good hoagies and a great price. This was our second stop and we were not. Buns are fresh and hoagies full of great product. This time we got the cheesesteak and am Italian. Both smalls (11") and both were fantastic. Can't wait till next year to have some more..

The food was good but the pastries were done in old oil. For a French restaurant the pastries suppose to be the speciality so having them done in an old, burned oil is not a good note. I still feel the bad taste. Crossing out the place from my list.

I had lunch there. My friends and I chose the pre-fix lunch which included one appetizer, or soup or salad, one entree, and a desert. I had the lamb and my friends had the salmon. Everything was delicious. We all loved the mashed potatoes, it was creamy and rich.

One of the BEST BYO places, ever! We did the price fixed menu and each of the 4 courses had delicious options! Portion sizes were perfect, as I could barely finish my dinner. Dessert pastry crust was flaky and had ice cream inside! Highly recommend! We were invited there by friends as their guests, but would DEFINITELY go back!

I went there with my lady once, the price may be on the higher side but if you want delicious French cuisine, I would definitely recommended Latour. The Foie Gras is absolutely amazing! I went specifically for the Beef Wellington, I had not had it before. The Beef Wellington made here by Chef Michael Latour is incredible, it quickly became one of my top 5 favorite foods. He came to our table and I was certain to tell him how great that Wellington was. I will return one day to have both the Wellington and the Foie Gras again. I love that we can also bring our own wine. Comfortable ambience and the server was warm and friendly. I'd recommend anyone in the mood for French dining, especially if you watched enough Gordon Ramsey and wish to know what a Beef Wellington is like...try one at Latour.
