Excellent Korean comfort food for the area if you know what to order and like spicy food. If so, highlights are the Kimchi fries, Korean fried chicken wings(also available mild/nonspicy), and army stew. Take out service is quick and reliable.

I had a hankering for rolls so I went in and was immediately seated by the friendly waitress. I ordered the bimbimbap hot stone bowl and and an order of rolls to go and unfortunately was unimpressed with both meals. There was almost no meat in my bowl and a ton of rice and I just felt like the meat wasn't as seasoned as other places I have been in the city. Had to add a ton of red sauce to make it taste better. I had the rolls as a snack later in the evening and while the rolls tasted more like what I expected, they were still somehow really bland. More unseasoned bulgogi and the rice was mealy too, which was very surprising. I was really looking forward to both meals and was left wishing I had went somewhere else last night. Will come back again but more skeptically.

I only had 15 minutes to have lunch before my doctor's appointment and I saw a Ray's pizza. I headed towards it, only because I know it's quick. The place was closed or under renovation? Right next door was this little gem of a place. Beats any fast food. I told them that my time was limited and I chose two ingredients plus white rice, all for ten bucks and they gave me a side of kimchi and picked veg. I was served immediately and the young people working there are courteous. You can have real high end Korean in several places in NY, Queens, NJ, etc. But this is an awesome cheap and healthy alternative to pizza and hamburger. I love NY.

I ordered my lunch delivery from the Korean Express on April 19th at 1:11pm. I was assured that delivery would take 20-30 minutes. After an hour and 17 minutes, the delivery guy finally came (2:28pm). I called the restaurant at 1:45pm to check the status for my order and I was told it’s on the way. After another 30 minutes and still no delivery. I called the restaurant twice, the person who assisted me has no idea where’s my order and was non-apologetic. This has been a very disappointing experience.

Went there on a rainy day. There were only a couple of customers there. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I ordered fried kimchi rice, it was delicious. My only reservation about this places is that the food seems to be prepared in advance for the most part. While it was tasty it wasn't as fresh as it could have been.

This is a great place for casual Korean food. I wouldn't really take a guest there (go to K-town for that), but it's awesome for a quick bibimbap or army stew fix. Sort of expensive for what it is, but delivery is super quick.

We walked in to have lunch and were seated immediately. It was quite busy but we only waited 10 minutes max for the food. I had vegetable noodles that were very good and a friend of mine the same dish but with beef. The service was good, they offered complimentary appetizers. I didn’t like that we were seated close to the entrance door and whenever someone walked in it was super windy and cold.

This restaurant is small, basic, and for it being located on the Lexington Ave. strip it is not upscale at all...with its kitchen area being part of the dining area, you can see, hear, and smell the food cooking while you wait. The Meñu is pretty straight foward and simple and they also have it plastered up on walls for customers to see, with prices being fare and the service being ok, the food is just great, enough to keep you coming back for more or... ordering take outs. Overall this restaurant is good despite the lack of being fancy. Enjoy.

The ingredients were bad and the dishes were less than bad. The Nepalese waitress educated me on the nuances of Korean cuisine and culture, unaware that I lived there for several years, and almost everything she said was false. The entire kitchen was from Mexico and very young so I can't blame them for not knowing how to prepare Korean food, particularly since the owners hadn't taken the time to teach them nor give them quality ingredients. I took two bites and pushed my plate away from me. It sat there for 25 minutes, without anyone ever asking me if there were a problem or having the slightest concern for our table so I am confused by the comments applauding the service. The waitresses do smile a lot, even when you explain that you were famished when entering the place yet still couldn't marshal the strength to eat the seemingly boiled fatty chicken that had been soy sauce poured over it, parading as an edible dish. If one is accustomed to eating good food, this place will disappoint but if not, then bon appetit!

I'm very surprised by the ratings for this place. This is far from Korean food. I ordered the spicy pork over rice. Korean food is all about the quality of the veggies and meat and I know it's a fast food place but the meat tasted old, terrible and sweet. The meal was so oily I can literally fill up the oil in the kimchi take out container. Since we are talking about kimchi I would like to add it taste like the cheep brand I got from H-Mart. I’ve been to the restaurant twice and had a pleasurable experience. However, I can not say that that was the case when I went yesterday. I was going to grab something to eat but was going to ask to use the bathroom first. A young man came up to me and asked to help me. [Edit] Just visited again and knocked off two stars. Food quality was not as good, and the place has lost its liquor license. No more beer or soju. Very disappointing. Looks like a typical fast-food place from the sidewalk, but this is a great little restaurant. Except for the fairly stingy banchan (little appetizers served before ordering), the food here is every bit as good as the more pricey Korean restaurants along 32nd Street. Highly recommended.

Korean Express serves pretty good food at such a low price. Their ramen is nice and spicy, their tonkatsu is delicious, and the kimchi fried rice is the perfect thing is you just want a little kick of spice. In the back they also have a myriad of delicious and uncommon drinks for the U.S., and definitely worth checking out, and they keep their mochi frozen. So if you need a light dessert, or just something sweet to settle a craving, consider these. The service here has also gotten significantly better recently, making this place a solid four stars.
