This Restaurant is classified in the category of Korean restaurant.
Extremely helpful staff, took care of cooking the meat for us. Very attentive service. I'd recommend the Kalbi, it's absolutely delicious!
Food was amazing!
The ONLY place to go for Korean bbq in PA! It’s better then most places in NYC- which I go often to eat great food. The side dishes here are authentic- fresh and delicious. They are generous with their portions and the meat quality is very good. We drive 45 mins to an hour to eat here but it’s worth it. Wish it was closer to main line- would be eating there several times a week if it was.
Very authentic Korean BBQ and there were tonnes of side dishes. Prices were however quite high, especially for the BBQ options, with fairly decent servings. Was pretty empty on a Friday night when I went.
Fantastic meal here. Service wasn’t as good as the food but the meal was so delicious I’ll forgive them. The only Korean barbecue in Philadelphia to use charcoal.
this is first time im visiting there .. this place is really awesome. i super recommend
Extremely expensive for just average Korean food. Not bad by any means, just average and not worth the price.
Excellent service and food
This review would have been higher if they didn't double charge us for the meal. Our bill came out to a little over $100, when we split the check it was roughly around $70 a person which was odd because it should have only been around $50 per person. We assumed they had charged gratuity and went on our way. NOPE! Soon after we left they came barreling out shouting we didn't tip and so on. When we explained the bill was only $104 and they had charged us $70+ a person they had to review their charges and ended up charging us $140 and split that vs the $104 the bill was actually for. They advised they reversed said charges and charged us the correct amount which was around $60 something (tip included). Come to find out they never reversed the first charge so we EACH got a double charge equaling $140 which, between two people is around $280, which was far more than the actual bill itself. Needless to say, we will now have to dispute double charges and will not be back due to this. If you're running a business but cannot accurately ring out a bill then that says alot about the ownership of said establishment.
Good food
Excellent spicy shredded beef soup, very spicy, lots of included appetizers, staff made me feel more like a guest than a customer
Great authentic Korean BBQ. Inja is the best! ♥️
One of my favorite spots for tasty korean food. Got there about two, it was not packed. The staff was very kind and attentive. Prices are reasonable I would say. Feels similar to a cafe in Chicago I liked.
Love it!
Food was DELISH. Price seems high for the BBQ but it serves 2-3 people. The BBQ & sides were great! The hot pot is more of a soup. Not what we expected but good. It got busy & service slowed down pretty bad. Had to ask several times for things. But, everything else was so good that we didn't want to remove a star for that.
Stopped by Kim's BBQ on our way home from NYC to northern Virginia. Found it through a Google search for best korean restaurants in Philadelphia. Wasnt quite sure about the neighborhood as we were driving through the outer parts of Philly to get to the restaurant but once we went inside, sat down, ordered, and the side dishes started coming out, it was beyond our expectations and fabulous. As you can tell by the pictures, we've never had so many side dishes served to us in a restaurant ever. My wife and our two friends all agreed and loved the food. We had a great meal and received great service. They even let us have self serve ice cream for dessert. I dont know if it's standard or if it was special service for us (we can be a fun and lovable group.) We will definitely be back when we visit Philly in the future and recommend this place to others.
Food was on point. Side dishes were amazing. Service was so so. Kept having to ask for more water and they kept forgetting. After the meal we would sit around for a long time and they still wouldn't bring our check so we had to go up front to pay for the meal.
Kalbi is great, service was amazing and free ice cream :)
Solid spot for kbbq. One of the only places where you can cook over coal instead of electric. Adds to the flavor and experience. Don't forget to go get a couple scoops of the complementary ice cream after the meal!
Best Korean bbq in North Philly.. I love the sundubu they have..
Best korean BBQ I've had since I lived in Seoul. One of the few and only places in Philly that uses real coals. Amazing.
I keep trying other Korean BBQ places, but I keep returning to Kim's because it's the best!
Alrite
The food was delicious and the servings are generous. Great variety and free ice cream!
Best korean bbq by far using their wood chips to cook. May be a few dollars more for a portion or order compared to other bbq restaurants, but i dont take chance to save a few bucks. Because i know i will get the best juicy tender beef with them. Also free side dishes such as the egg soufflé and tofu soup and other makes ordeing simple. Just pay for the beef you ordered. Simplicity in ordering is good stuff.
Excellent spot for Korean bbq that is authentic with a variety of korean side dishes. I like this place better than Sarebouel.
Great food, great services!!!
Excellent banchan and delicious barbecue in addition to the best seafood pancake I've ever had. Service was also quite friendly and while it wasn't the flair-bedazzled, caffeinated cheer that some mistakenly expect, I truly felt a sense of hospitality. They had fantastic hair and brought us their favorite pickle to boot. One order of barbecue was enough to make 2 of us uncomfortably full and would probably feed 3. We only ate part of the seafood pancake and only because it was so tasty. I can't wait to return to Kim's.
Hands down some of the best Korean BBQ I've ever had. The staff were all friendly and made the meal even more enjoyable. If you like eel don't pass up on the broiled eel it was delicious. All of the sides tasted fresh and home made. I can not wait to return.
Great food and great atmosphere
Best BBQ Ever! My wife and I have been going there for over a decade! My Birthday is coming up... I will be back soon!
Scrumptious Korean BBQ with an extraordinary number of side dishes/garnishes provided gratis. Such yum! But be prepared to come home with smoky clothes (from the grill).
Fantastic. Blown away. Cannot recommend highly enough.
My friend and I went there for the first time, just because of all the good reviews it receives. However, we both were really disappointed. The food was not good at all, and it’s a bit pricey for the BBQs with a small amount of the meat, which’s beef that we had. The service itself was okay, but we will definitely not return for the business in the future.
Best Korean BBQ around Philadelphia. The price seems high and scared me at first but it serves 2-3 people and you get what you pay for.
Good food, but not enough for two. Too expensive for what you get.
Awesome Experience. Exceptional Service. Highly Recommend
delicious
Best korean BBQ! O.G. Spot..
The best Korean BBQ very good service and the meat is seasoned well. I will be back here again!
Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend trying this place out. First they give a bunch of sides that you can eat with the main course. Definitely recommend Kalbi as it was juicy and just bursting with flavor. Fantastic.
My first time in this place, service was great, food delicious. Charcoal grill. Will recommend this place if you're looking for authentic Korean BBQ. A bit pricey, but so is every other Korean BBQ. You get what you pay for.
Unique concept. Staff is very nice and welcoming, and the meat is fresh. The place itself is a bit dirty, please clean it
Best Korean Barbecue around. Prices are up there though.
A fav spot for quality Korean food. The bill was fair for the quality of food. I can see why they have a lot of good reviews.
I went to Kim's yesterday for my first korean bbq experience. It was absolutely amazing. Every was very kind and helpful and I just felt at home. The food is awesome! I couldnt have has a better first experience and I definitely will be back. Definitely recommend.
Expensive but great, authentic kbbq
Authentic and delicious food. I get the BBQ every time.
Gone downhill since many years ago. I occasionally visited this place with my family when we wanted good charcoal cooked korean BBQ. Their meat marinate seems to have same deep flavor from 8 years ago but it seems that they no longer use quality meat.
Short Rib and Seafood Tofu soup where great! The Banshan which is my favorite part of Korean BBQ was medicore at best.
We have been to this Korean BBQ restaurant many times over the years and it just keeps getting better and better. We had marinated chicken we cooked on hot coals at our table. It was so yummy we ate way too much. Service was great but understanding Korean can be a little tough some time. Highly recommended.
Best Korean bbq in philly. Meat, panchan, the whole shebang. You will pay your fair share but definitely worth it.
Beautiful homey shop! The staff were kind and helpful! Definitely will visit again!
Great Korean restaurant, best BBQ meat and the atmosphere is a very warming rustic feeling
Good service
Authentic Korean BBQ. Excellent flavors and large portions. Fast, friendly service.
It was great experience and I love it will be returning again with friends
Best korean bbq spot in philly hands down! No more words needed
Delicious food, nice staff. Don't forget the complimentary ice cream
NEVER DISAPPOINTS. One of the best Korean BBQ in Philly.
If you want morsels of heaven placed into your mouth, come here. Order the spicy beef bulgogi and stuff your gourd. It's 10/10 worth any wait.
Ordered pan-fried dumplings, it was super delicious
AWESOME
Food the service the atmosphere was amazing will come back more often!
Outstanding , you must try this restaurant.
BBQ beef was good. Seafood hot pot was tasteless and only some fish, clams and octopus in it, not like in the picture with other seafood, $36 is over priced. Waiting time was very long and no one came to serve without asking from ordering to refilling water. It's a small family restaurant. We are not used to their service and will not go back again.
Great food!
This place is great. It's always such a treat to go out there. Spicy galbi and kimchi chigae are two of my favorite Korean dishes and they do both exceptionally well. Amazing array of banchan appetizers as well. Also, all staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Plus self serve ice cream is always included with your meal.
Didn't go with the full BBQ apparatus; however, the dishes of pickled vegetables and spicy greens complemented the disk of spicy pork and kimchi I picked. With a few Tsingdao to wash everything down, a great meal at a moderate price.
My wife and I love how large the portions are, especially the ban-chan. The dishes taste so classically Korean, the way our moms cooked for us when we were children. The host was so generous and made sure we left with some free ice cream.
Great table side coal Korean bbq. Love this place.
Ok big hungry Asian here. Been to a few Korean bbq joints. This place is really good. Meat is well seasoned banchan is great. THEY USE CHARCOAL!!! That alone should place it above so many others. Service was quick and polite. It does cost more but THEY USE CHARCOAL!!! When in philly, feeling Korean, hit this place up. Your taste buds will thank you and your belt will be straining!
Wonderful service fabulous food, incredibly homey and extra family styled
Not bad place to eat for Korean style Barbecue, but little pricey.
Our Airbnb host recommended it to us. And the prices scared us at first but the food was totally worth it. They give 16 side dishes on top of the main dish
Great service. Order piles of the beef.
The variety of Kimchi is Amazing!!!! There was so much food, and the meat was so tender and delicious.. It's very expensive but worth it!
Great food and service. Strongly recommend for traditional Korean food.
Love their General Tso's Shrimp! Big size
Best place to eat very delicious
U guys giving those top notch reviews need a head examination. Food and service sucked. I should have gone with my gut and go e to 2nd Street. Their pork belly is thick cut bacon ☠️ their beef spare ribs looked like regular skirt steak. I was so disappointed. Then they had the nerve to rush me out the door with their over priced street food. Never again, unless they change owner and cook simultaneously!!
Cool
Really good Korean BBQ. First time eating it and the waiter helped cook it for us.
If you are my friend, I will never want you to go there. I do not want people think that it is the authentic Korean BBQ. I mean that the quality of meats are under the average compared to Korean BBQ in Korea.
Basic breakfast, its okay
Great service and food.
Fresh, authentic and excellent service.
The food was great, the portions were more than you expected. The service was nice, there was a slight language barrier, we worked it out. I highly recommend it.
Great place great food???
Best place for galbi.
I have went to Kim's the first time in June of 2016 & have been back again this month & I will continue to be back there! The food is Excellent, the Staff is Friendly, & the Food is Great!!!
The kimchi jigae was on point
Best Korean BBQ
Good Korean BBQ. Spice beef rib is so good. Not that spice at all. So many of free side dishes. Must be there~
Go here with a large group - you will eat yourself silly, because every bite is amazing
Very tasty . Can't wait to go again
This place is delicious and clean. The food was top notch and the service was great too.
Good Korean BBQ! One of the oldest Korean restaurants in Philly!
DELICIOUS KOREAN BBQ!
Best Korean BBQ in Philly. Been around for years and they still BBQ on charcoal. On the site of the former Fern Rock Diner.
What a great experience to go here! So much fun, and the foods tasted great!! Great service, great scott!!!
Excellent service delicious food
The place is a little too small, and the prices are extremely too high.
Barbeque is fantastic. You should try the spicy marinated beef.
Good for a group to grill some kalbi and enjoy the plethora of side dishes that rotate depending on what they have for the week. Pretty authentic Korean BBQ at a moderate price.
Great food. Excellent services
BBQ'S 5star Service 4star Overall experience 5star.
Always a must stop every time I visit home. Usually do their takeout but ate in last week. The place was busy and the servers were nice. Could’ve been slightly better but I still had a good time eating there with family. Be prepared to pay for quality food.
Birthday party and All Events
Great experience.. will return
Wonderful Korean BBQ!! You can have a great time with your friends and family:)
Service is okay but the food is good. Price is moderate .
Best Korean bbq place in philly, hands down
Excellent food and service, though the variety music was a little strange (and lack thereof, at some points).
Wonderful barbeque
We have been eating at Kim's for approx. 25+ years from when Mr.O ran the place and had the very best Korean BBQ in Phila..We used to drive from Levittown twice a week and just the smell alone was worth the drive. The prices were much lower then and the quality seemed better but although the food after Mr O has been somewhat uneven, it's still better than anything else around. There is nothing better than Bulgogi roasting on natural charcoal and going home reeking of that wonderful aroma.Yes!!!!.
used to be good. horrible customer service by waiter
Great service and food :) Not overly crowded and good for private work events. Staff is attentive and helpful for those who have never done cook your own BBQ. Excited to go again and try other meals!
This place has the best Korean BBQ in Philadelphia and the surrounding area. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the service is generally very good.
The best Korean BBQ on earth.
The food was delicious! It was expertly prepared and extremely fresh! I will definitely be back!
Food is deceptively good! The banchan I've had here is the best I've had in Olney thus far including serabol and tubu. Didn't have any of the grilled meats but I will definitely be going back to try it!
Good Korean BBQ all around.
The wait was long and it takes forever for them to bring food. Also they are under staff other than that you must order the charcal BBQ beef and nothing else. I've ordered chicken and pork belly but those were not as good as the BBQ beef.
One of few good places for korean BBQ in Philly. I love the sundubu and soju for lunch!
Awesome! Our go-to for Korean BBQ for almost 25 years. Laid-back atmosphere, great service and the food is amazing. Worth an hour commute. Highly recommend.
By far the best Korean BBQ in the area. The authentic fire used for grilling at the table can't be beat or substituted!
Best K-BBQ in Philly hands down.
I had many Korean BBQ before and I went to Kim’s on Mother’s Day. The place was packed and I was excited to try this restaurant in many years. Service was good I must say however the quality of the ribs was not that great. It was quite chewy and there’s two reasons why the meat is chewy, either it was a cheap quality meat or it wasn’t marinated well. I presume it is former. I didn’t see the marbling as it should be. It wasn’t what I expect from a rib but from plain cheap bbq meat. To be honest, I wouldn’t recommend this place to friends nor I wanna try it again. Mr. Kim focus more on quality of the food and then consider renovating the interior. Keep the place clean and serve honest and good quality food. The rest will follow
Simply the best , I'm Korean from Chicago doesn't get any better than this
Amazing korean bbq! Must get beef rib
Nice place
This place is freakin awesome. They give you 20 different side dishes to go along with your meal. KBBQ done right. Also they are the only KBBQ place in philly that cooks on coals at the table.
The meal is good ,and the staffs are kind despite they're super busy
Fantastic Korean BBQ!!!!
You can rent space at this place.
Forcing to pay tip
Korean food and service at this place is super good. Certainly worth going back to. It has a good feel to it.
