Here we offer you the reviews of people who consumed the services and products of Jungsik (Restaurant) in the state of New Jersey.
At the moment this firm has a rating of 4.6 out of 5 and the score was based on 328 reviews.
You may have noticed that it has an average rating is almost the best one, and it's based on a large number of feddbacks, so we can say that the valuation is very credible. If many people have bothered to value when they are happy with the service, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to place evaluations when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Korean restaurant.
This was an exquisite meal! Oscar was amazing and really took care of us! The service was impeccable and food was delicious! Just go, you won't regret it. Words won't do it justice. Loved the fruit dessert!
A truly amazing menu beautifully presented. Excellent staff and service. My go to place for a special dining experience.
Maddening restaurant that is very expensive. Several dishes will transport you to a magical place while the next few dishes will disappoint. Hope is settles in as it could be terrific once it achieves balance
Wow! I am blown away by the food, service , and the overall ambiance. This was probably one of the best meal and dining experience in my life. I did not know Korean food could be expressed this way. As a fellow Korean, this was a very eye opening experience. I hope Jungsik receives a third star one day!
elegant dining, great experience for the palate and eyes. good wine choices
Sublime, Surprising and delightful
Great experience.
Love the food.
Stunning meal. Lived up to it's 2 star michelin name. The staff are nice and accommodating. I didn't feel the Korean flare but the modern theme is def well received. Ordered the truffle rice and OMG... It was LOADED with truffles!!!!!! The dessert was exquisite and finished the meal on a perfect note. Had the wine pairing with it. It was quite nice.
Really expensive. But good korean food. High end.
Excellent!! Went for our wedding anniversary and we enjoyed it very much!
The Jungsik experience is outstanding. They do amazing things with flavor complexity and textures. The service is excellent, as is the deep wine list. If you can't make it for dinner, consider the dessert tasting at the bar which is an equally extravagant affair.
Good
~sigh~ what can I say about Jungsik other than it's Korean food heaven on Earth? I came here for my birthday and recieved exceptional service, everything about our visit was amazing. The food, obviously is incredibly crafted, full of ingenious surprises and playful touches. We had the traditional tasting menu....and I will be dreaming of it for years to comr. Our host was Korean and it was so great to learn about Korean food culture and how those ideas came to inspire the amazing dishes we had the privilege of eating. They gave me a traditional korean seaweed soup as it was my birthday, and it was the best birthday touch I've had at any restaurant. I was over the moon the entire time. Go if you can and make sure you have the mini banana!!!
Service was swift and the staff are always so courteous and polite. The food was superb! I love the Korean wagyu beef and truffle risotto! Typing it makes me want some now.
Fantastic modern Korean cuisine
Very fancy Korean.
Wow knockout food, amazing service, and great setting.
This is the place to splurge! Jungsik lives up to its two star Michelin reputation and worthy of the $235pp price tag. Their signature tasting menu puts an innovative spin on Korean fine dining with each bite carefully crafted to perfection. The culinary experience here was sensational but it was the wagyu galbi that shined the most. It was probably one of the best pieces of meat I have ever eaten in my life. The meat was so tender and just melted away in my mouth with that juicy sweetness. It was a great homage to Korean cuisine. Caviar and octopus were also super delicious. Desserts were beautifully crafted but taste was somewhat forgettable. Overall, I was extremely impressed by Jungsik. I would be back to try their seasonal menu.
Amazing experience, beautiful atmosphere, crazy good masterpieces, great presentation and of course well balanced, scrumptious dishes. Highly highly recommended!!!
I have loved Korean food for years, and these folks have taken it to an entirely new level of gastronomy. Couple the food with the staff of fabulous folks, and you have an evening with few comparisons!
Came here with a large group and we ordered one of everything off the menu. Everything was fantastic although some dish's stand out more than others including the octopus that not only tasted great, but the presentation was very cool, the duck, gom tang also stood out. However to me the lamb was the star of the show, it almost melted in your mouth. I will say that in general the fish dishes were the weakest, and the service was a little less than friendly (however this is most likely because of the size of our party and the fact that we were only spending hundreds of dollars and not thousands so I have decided to not dock a star).
An amazing place with amazingly tasty food. They serve the food in a very creative manner and treat you in a very good way. The taste pf the food was amazing, the quality was good, it was absolutely fresh. I’m really happy with the place. The place is worth a visit.
One of my absolutely favorites in NYC. Not only is the food stupendous but the decor and environment and staff are absolutely next level. Every time I eat here I feel like it's an incredibly special experience and something to be treasured. Really a special place.
An absolutely INCREDIBLE meal. Go for your birthday and do the tasting menu with wine pairings. OMG. So different and awesome.
Certainly a place worth visiting, the food is great and fresh, the pricing is affordable and it is consistently well organized there. 5 stars.
My favourite place!!
Fantastic. All aspects
There are two options here either the seasonal menu ($120) or the tasting menu ($200). We ordered the tasting menu. The dining experience was about 2.5 hours. The restaurant is not that big. We were seated in the back room and all the tables were next to the window which is bad in the winter. There was a draft and it was cold. We spoke to staff but it didn't help with the cold coming through the window. The staff were definitely not same caliber. Our waiter was a bit snarky when we asked which order to eat one of the banchan appetizer. I saw the food as more of Asian fusion. Flavors we're good but I expected much more from a two Michelin star. The desert is ok but nothing phenomenal. For this rating and price I expected something much more and at the end felt it didn't live up to the expectations. It's four stars and not five. If you want something fancy and don't mind paying for it give it a try, but if you want real Korean food, just go to ktown and have a ball for fraction of the price.
Very nice food, good services
Phenomenal. For my birthday, I was able to experience Jungsik with my BF and BFF. We opted for the signature tasting menu upon our server's recommendation since it was all our first time. The signature tasting menu includes 9 courses at $225 per person. If you opt for the wine pairing, it is an additional $180 per person. The current signature tasting menu includes: + Osetra caviar + Foie gras mandoo + Octopus + Black cod + Tuna kimbap + Galbi + Yuja + Baby banana + Soy sesame We started with Jungsik's version of banchan, or Korean small side dishes. There were five, to be eaten in a clockwise direction. Despite being very small, each dish was packed full of layered flavors and set up excited expectations for the rest of the meal. While everything was fabulous, my favorite courses were the foie gras mandoo (served with wagyu in a fantastic broth); octopus (served with gochujang and oh so tender); black cod (again, very tender); and tuna kimbap (love the contrasting texture of the crispy seaweed wrap against the tuna). My favorite of the desserts was the baby banana dish due to its interactive presentation and flawless execution of what looks like a real banana, but in actuality is made of banana Bailey's cake and ganache. This is served alongside coffee ice cream. When the server brings the dessert to the table, the "banana" is presented in a basket of fruits which you have to gingerly take out and place on your dish. Very creative! As someone who loves traditional Korean cuisine, I was awed by Jungsik's contemporary take that blends in its Korean heritage inspiration with European (mostly French) techniques. Food here is complex, playful, and thoroughly enjoyable. Service is also impeccable, with our server being incredibly professional but also actively engaging. Very deserving of their two Michelin stars and worth every penny.
The best Michelin restaurant I've been to in a while - Jungsik has two stars as of May 2017, and I would not be surprised if a third is on the way. There are two dining options - the signature tasting menu and a seasonal tasting menu. The signature menu was absolutely delicious. The multiple dish amuse bouche set our expectations high, all proceeding courses pushed the bar even higher, and the 1wonderful banana desert was the perfect grand finale. Jungsik is a must visit in NYC - you will not be disappointed
Great upscale Korean food I came here for a birthday dinner. They seated us in the far dining room with less tables right next to the window. The waiter was courteous to ask if it was warm enough there. We were handed the wine list but no dinner menu. Good thing that I knew I was getting the tasting menu anyways. I later noticed that other tables did get the dinner menu. The tasting menu is 10 courses for $155 and wine pairing for $105. Some dishes to note: Amuse-bouches: eel flavored roll with fat filling (not exactly sure of the name) it was delicate with a nice crunch from the eel flavored wrap. Appetizer: Mushroom with Chanterelle, shiitake and truffle sauce. The mushrooms were absolutely delicious. I was not able to taste the truffle though in the sauce. Entree: Crispy Black Seabass with tom yom broth. The seabass is cooked slowly with boiling hot oil topped with crispy scales. The tom yom broth adds a nice compliment to the subtle taste of the seabass. The wine pairings are on par. The sommelier I thought was very knowledgeable in the wine pairings but not the rest of the wines on the wine list. Jungsik does carry a very large list of burgundy wines.
4.5 stars! Fine-dining ambience, with top notch service to match. Food was delicious, with Asian and Western flavors melded together to create a beautiful culinary experience. High-quality comfort food!
It worth even more than two star Michelin. Five star of course and 97/100, cannot fault in anyway. I tried the season menu and Gu-jo-Pan, the seafood platter with variable warps, and the small banana for extra dessert. The salad in is very special and creative(97), fish was fantastic(96), tender meat with one kind koran source, duck is tender and crispy (95), the pre desert is dynamic and neat(95), have to mention all the dessert is amazing, truffle ice cream is one of the kind(97), New York Soeul V2 is excellent(97), and the small banana is exotic(99). Will visit more time and keep updated.
What a lucky day with my husband and son. Right in New York, best korean restaurant I have visited. Presentations are true art, every detail counts. Food was so delicious, so delicate. I strongly recommend this excellent restaurant to all my friends. Is expensive but worth every penny.
Phenomenal food was great, service was excellent!! Really enjoyed
This is one of the best meals I've ever had. I took my wife here for our 5th anniversary and we had the full tasting menu. We learned about Jungsik when we were in Seoul, looking for a special meal. We couldn't get reservations, so when I moved to New York I put this high on the list. Best decision so far. Every bite is sensational. We did the Uni add on and had so much fun. I dream about the kimbap. No octopus will ever match. You'll get toro, and caviar, and maybe some truffles. You will get inimitable service. You will spend a lot of money. You will have no regrets.
amazing place and the service was really good
My first time here and I must say, Jungsik did not disappoint. The restaurant gave me an impression of an upscale yet cozy atmosphere. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating as well as professional. I didn't recognize some of the ingredients on the menu but was quite game to try. We ended up choosing the signature tasting menu. And, it was phenomenal. Our server kept us amused, and each dish was explained as it was served. What stood out for me was the Gu Jeol Pan [ uni at the center and little bites like fraiche, cucumber, roe, etc that you pile on top of a seaweed cracker]trust me you can't go wrong with this. Our first dish were these bite-sized apps [ squid ink covered oyster, prosciutto covered mushroom, beef tartare on some sort of cracker, etc] served on top of little square dishes; it was sublime. It tantalized the tastebuds. Each dish was by itself a work of art. The thing I remember most was this feeling of anticipation as each dish was cleared. "What would be next? Will it be as good as the last dish?" These thoughts were percolating in my brain as I sat there waiting for the next dish. The cutlery and dinnerware pleasantly framed the dishes as well: from heavy glass plates to mother of peal spoons to eat our caviar dish. As we enjoyed our degustation of our 10 course meal, I remember thinking, these people put a lot of work into these dishes and probably take pride in preparing them. The best compliment I can offer is having our wait staff bring back an empty plate to the kitchen. We left full, satisfied that we got our $$$$ worth and with thoughts of coming back again to try the seasonal tasting menu. So until next time, Jungsik! P. S. There doesn't seem to be a strict dresscode, BUT, the staff wear suits sooo...
(Translated by Google) Impressive dinner. Maintaining the basic of Korean food but preserving the characteristics and taste of creative foods and ingredients. And very friendly service. Every course was special and fun. (Original) 인상적인 저녁 식사. 한식의 기본을 유지하되 창의적인 음식, 재료의 특성과 맛을 그대로 살려냈다. 그리고 매우 친절한 서비스. 매 코스가 특별했고 즐거웠다
Modern Korean fusion, nice playing and good service. Two menu options available.
Definitely worth the two Michelin stars here. Fantastic dishes one after the other with Korean themes throughout. A classic fine dining experience and great staff too. Dishes are really innovative and the mandu, short rib, and the octopus were really standout. If you’re looking for a special meal in NYC, look no further! Not cheap ($760 for two total including tip and a bottle of wine) but worth it
Great take on Korean food, the former space for Chanterelle, and old NYC classic, this restaurant has class, great service and better taste! A fine dinning experience that pampers you from star to finish, with explosive and unusual flavors. It’s not cheap, as you would expect it not to be, but if you’re in for spending that kind of money on a very special dinner don’t hesitate! Very nice for a romantic and special occasion.
Excellent experience there, top notch food. Octopus was flawless, white asparagus sorbet is well balanced and refreshing. Smoky caviar is well done and hand roll with crunchy seaweed surface and truffle rice is amazing.
This is a Korean restaurant in Tribeca, NYC where the chef Jungsik Yim from the CIA is cooking. It serves contemporary and fusion dishes, not traditional Korean food, and has a seasonal and normal tasting menu. Very romantic atmosphere and comfortable table is good for dating. Soft lighting and friendly service are also suitable. Michelin Guide (New York) is consistently receiving two stars. Reservations are highly recommended.
Great Korean spot. The courses are interesting and the drinks are excellent! Music is audible enough to create a great vibe but not too loud to drown out conversations on a date or with friends.
Plating, taste, service, atmosphere 100%
Fine location for quality Korean food. You won't be disappointed in the menu and service. It has a great atmosphere.
It was surprisingly wonderful. It’s worth making a night out to eat there. Very expensive of course.
One of the most memorable and delicious experiences of my life! This restaurant definitely falls into the special occasions category of reasons to go there - but it is definitely worth every penny
Food is good, but I've had better at less ritzy places, and portions are small. Service is attentive as it should be for a place like this. Enjoyed my meal but not sure it was worth the expense, or its two Michelin stars.

SO SO SO DELICIOUS! One of the best restaurants i’ve tried. Every bite of every dish was different, so much flavors. Lucky to have gotten a chance to try this restaurant. Also service was on point. A bit pricey- but what do you expect for a michelin star restaurant with quality food?
Taste good. Extremely creative korean fusion food however, price is over priced. I know it is Michelin 2 star place but that doesn't mean it HAS to be extremely expensive.
I went here a couple of months ago, we did the tasting menu. All the dishes were phenomenal, their services were immaculate. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and presentations. I'm planning to go back soon.
We really like the food in here.
Tasty Korean food. great for groups and friendly gatherings. super atmoshpere.
Great food.
The service is too bad, last week I called to make a important reservation and you guys make a wrong time and tell me if I can come then don’t? What doesn’t that means? I didn’t do wrong,
Jungsik should have six stars, not only five. This is as much art as it is the most incredible dishes imaginable. Truly a place for a special occasion or for when you just want to eat at the best restaurant in TriBeCa.
One of my favorite NYC dining experiences. Very much deserves its 2 Michelin stars.
I tried their tasting menu. For a meal that costs a fortune, it did not impress me. It was good, but it was not worth the money. The dishes we got were all tasty but I felt like it failed to capture the essence of the Korean cuisine. I wanted to be wow'ed with at least a few dishes out of the 10+ we went through. Probably won't go back.
Words aren't enough to describe what a fantastic experience this was. Yes it isn't cheap. But ignore that for a brief moment and simply enjoy what they have to offer. From thee service to the food. Formal but friendly service and food that hints at Korean while very suitable to the North American palate.
Food was so good, I was totally blown away. Impeccable attention to detail and fantastic service. I had an amazing time with my mother-in-law and hubby. Will be recommending to my parents when they’re in town!!
The 9-courses menu provides a good variety of tastes of French-Korean Fusion, however the service we got from the waiter was below our expectation, somehow his attitude annoyed my friend and me. Just a biased review from my friend and me:)
Perfect balanced food and nice service. Best restaurant in NYC, I'm sure!!
Great expérience . as much at the culinary level as the perfection of the service.. Eunjii is the best pastry chef of NYC

“Each dish is a piece of art” at this “high-end” TriBeCa Korean whose “meticulously prepared” fusion bites take “many twists and turns” and can be sampled in “sublime” yet “accessible” tasting menus presented by an “attentive” staff; the subtle, “elegant” space suits the “special experience”, though “you’ll pay for it” when the bill arrives.
Although I arrived at late hours (only half hour before closing time), I received one of the most ...complaisant service in my very short restaurant going history. I then ordered the seasonal menu ($125 or so maybe? I don't remember), five courses. I'd like to say every one is exquisite, except a few personal grudges. Their cocktail list featured in some Korean style beverages, it's not bad, but nothing you can't miss. Another thing worth praising is their control of portions of each dishes: not stingy but keep you expecting for the next. I was afraid I'm gonna feel starved like in some other expensive restaurants, I even begged for bread once (they don't have it)...but after finishing the five course, I feel just fine.
Service is impeccable. We had the tasting menu and found the portions to be absurdly tiny and somewhat bland. The main course consisted of three 2cm cubes of pork with some pickles on the side. We felt like the restaurant was either out of food or had gotten too precious about itself to be believed. For the price it simply wasn't worth it for food. Wine drinkers may enjoy the place more given it has decent prices on select vintages.
The dessert tasting menu is to kill for. Pastry Chef Eunji Lee delivers every element on the plate like an orchestra made of traditional Korean & classical western instruments. My absolute favorite is the mini Banana ;)
Cool and exceptional
Great foods and delicious also
Environment, food presentation, food taste, service are all top notched. Not your everyday Korean food. Wonderful experience.
Great place to Korean food. Food at this place yummy and served very fast and hot. The servers was very attentive, kind and accommodating.
This place has the best desserts!
The food is amazing! The service is impeccable!
Very good food and service overall. The waiter was very kind to wrap up the dessert with a cutest little bag ever. We ordered one pot of tea but he gave us two cups and refilled the hot water. The best amuse bouche ever in NY city! I've never seen any place that offers amuse bouche in a course setting. Abalone steak was very good, too. Galbi was cooked rare which was odd and new for me but everything else was excellent.
Amazing food, nice service, and it is cozy to enjoy a meal.

I wish I could give a zero star. Went with boyfriend for anniversary and he felt violently ill after we got home. Vomiting throughout the night. I saw some other comments mentioning the food poisoning. Don’t take it the wrong way-we are not fragile by any means, we survived different kinds of street food. I’m calling the NYC health department to report them first thing tomorrow. Worst $500 spent!
Excellent spot for Korean food. Good place to catch up with friends. There was fast and courteous service. Prices were fair for the quality of the food. I see why this place has a lot of good reviews.
Incredible restaurant. My wife and I have eaten here multiple times and each experience has been perfect. The food is matched not only by the beautiful presentations, but also by the impeccable service. Can't recommend Jungsik enough!
Excellent but overpriced
The best
Excellent food. Excellent ambience
Fantastic food!
Heavens, this meal was a delight. From each fantastically constructed dish to the wine compliment; this is an outstanding restaurant. Thank you for an unforgettable meal. Enjoy everything this restaurant has to offer.
They are making some quality food and I love how minimalist their approach is. Great!

This place was amazing. the food was unbelievably good, portions were filling, and the ambiance and staff were phenomenal. i would highly recommend!

Very accommodating, despite difficult diets. Wonderfully presented, delicious tasting, and very creative.
The food is fusion French-Korean and executed to perfection. Beautiful, thoughtful presentations. And altogether the price is reasonable (although the prix fixe seems way too expensive relative to a la carte). The space is simple, nothing special there; the bathrooms were filthy. The main negative was the service -- our waiter was pure snobbery. Unlikely to go back based purely on his attitude and style.
I love this place because food is not only delicious but looks incredible as well - so carefully decorated as though arranged by an artist. Thank you.
I was there yesterday to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. First of all, the service was outstanding. I felt that the staff and particularly the gentleman who was taking care of our table did all to make the evening extra special for us. Now for the food, although everything was tasty on the signature course, I felt that nothing was outside of what I had imagined. No real surprise was there in terms of texture, taste, and presentation. I had hoped that now that Korean flavors are more mainstream, less known ingredients or sauces could have been incorporated instead of more truffle and foie gras. Everything was also on the saltier or sweeter side of the spectrum as well. The wine pairing was adequate but not more than that. I'd still recommend this restaurant for the amazing service for a special occasion.
The drinks were excellent
Elevated Korean Cuisine ! Wonderful !!
(Translated by Google) Michelin Korean Fusion in New York. While making Korean cuisine feeling in some places, directing attractive attitude can be said only wonderfully ... If you are planning to visit Michelin in New York this is a shop I'd love to visit. It is a mystery that I forgot to take a picture of the main dish ... Of course there is a luxury store inside the dress code. We enjoyed smart guests comfortably even to dessert. I would like to call on you when you visit New York next time. Before I came here, I have heard many people praise the place for its "unique" Korean fusion style food. Needless to say, I had a high expectation to see how the fusion of Korean food works out. Unfortunately, what came out of the kitchen seemed like something children make with their small toy kitchen appliances, mixing things as an experiment and see if it works out. Well... it didn't. It didn't look good, it didn't taste good, and I have left with a feeling of hunger, disappointment and regret. Still, because of the service, I decided to up a star to 2/5
Delicious food, great service and if going in a group of 4, an Alla Carte is more than enough.
進化系ビビンパ?とにかくどのお料理も美味しくいただきました。
Have always wanted to give this place a try as it is the only Michelin-starred Korean restaurant in NY and its pretty pictures are all over instagram hehe. Went there for Friday dinner yesterday and had the signature tasting menu. While it was more Western and less Korean to me, from decor to presentations to flavors, the entire experience was exquisite. My fav dish of the night was the char octopus. It has a crispy crust outside, and the inside is very tender and flavorful. The langoustine was delicious, but the portion was too small. I did not finish the red snapper, as it was a bit plain to me and I don't like the skin. The lamb dish came with kimichi sauce and it was a nice combination, so you can see they did add some Korean elements in the food.
JUNGSIK is the best Korean-French restaurant ever in New York!! Your food is art and tasty!! Also, I love your great wine list:) Thank you very much!!!
One of the most underrated restaurants around, this place has some of the best food in NYC. Very welcoming service and now there's a dessert tasting at the bar, perfect place for a special occasion or for people really into fine dining. I'm saving up for the premium wine pairing because it looks top notch.
I tried this place in the past with a friend and I am hooked ever since. I love the awesome character and delicious dishes and beverages. Keep up the good work.
Very good food and wine, as I'd expect for $2k for four. Totally worth it.
Their seasonal menu taste nothing like Korean food. They said they used a ‘jorim’ sauce, which was way too sweet to be true. Also, uni substitution rice made the whole menu taste awful. On the bright side, they had GREAT desserts.
This is a great venue for small concerts - I've seen Tyrone Wells twice here and both performances were fantastic. I love the setting - wine bar among barrels with a stage plus you can drink and order food. What's not to love? Food - eh. I wouldn't come here just to eat. Nothing terrible but it's the kind of food I feel you can buy at a supermarket and then plate up for your friends when they come over for quick apps before the main. It's good enough though to munch on with wine while enjoying a show. I'd recommend eating before coming and just sharing some cheese or dip with wine. pass on the food, love the venue and would come back (if an artist I like is performing!)
A very schnancy, fancy Korean place. Service is impeccable, maybe even suffocating. They are there to fold your napkin if you leave your seat and always around. Although we had a problem finding someone to get our check at the end of the meal. Ordered a la carte and all the dishes were excellently prepared. Skip the cremeux dessert. A lot of attention to detail and they will even print you a special message on the menu if you let them know what you are celebrating in advance.
Had the Signature menu with the Royal Bibimbap addition and it was totally worth it - exceptional flavours, great presentation and immaculate service. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Good interpretation of modern Korean food.
The unexpected highlight of 3 consecutive nights of Michelin starred fine dining in New York. Asian fusion: impeccable French technique with a novel Korean twist. The young chef creates an admirable balance of flavors while restraining the number of ingredients to just what is necessary. Very mature. The staff are amiable and genuinely enthusiastic about the food. Expensive but worth it.
We had the 5-course Seasonal Menu. The restaurant accommodated our request for a meat/poultry/organs/octopus/eggs/dairy free meal. This did not have the slightest negative impact on the aroma and flavor of the creative, artfully presented and exquisite prepared dishes. I dine at many Michelin-starred fine dining establishments all over the world (mainly in Europe but also the Far East and the U.S. to a lesser degree) every year, and Jungsik has to be considered among the very best. Nothing we tasted was short of outstanding. To complement the chefs' creations, there is also an excellent and eclectic wine list with good wine by the glass selections. Highly recommended!
I visited last night, it was really hard time to seat. They give us table for 4 for 5 people. Next tables are all empty but they told us thats all reserved, so we bear it. fortunately, my party didn't try to care about our seats and enjoy it BUT there was no one came in, almost half of the seats have no customers. HOWEVER, they DID NOT EVEN think about that they could give us a little table just right next to us. After dinner, I asked them VERY politely, why, than he COMPLAINED to me, peoples canceled a lot, THEY felt very bad and they have no falt about the situation. We spend almost thousand bucks for cramped table but others all empty.
Pre-Christmas dinner Wonderful experience. The food is creative. Combining the good part of Korean and French food. The ambient is nice and clean. The service makes us very comfortable. Definitely recommend!
One of my favorite restaurants in the city. Refined fusion Korean cuisine that's has yet to disappoint. The flavors are delicate and each dish is always well executed. The amuse bouch at the beginning of the meal are little bites that tantalize your taste buds and I can never get enough of them. If you have a smaller appetite I recommend trying their seasonal tasting menu as it changes frequently and features seasonal gems. Great for date night or a special occasion.
Normal price
one of the best restaurants in NYC: Food, Atmosphere, Service. This place has risen in all three since I started first ate there and only seems to be accelerating upwards
Very interesting menu choices. Went there for a birthday celebration and they made it really special! very classy, quite place. Not a best meal I've had, but totally worth it.
Good food and service. Good atmosphere. Medium noise level. Had the seasonal menu which was great Love the coravin wine list
The service was impeccable. The food was beautiful and next level delicious. It was an outstanding experience. Highly recommended.
good food
Food was great. Service was awesome. We brought 2 kids who were loud from time to time and they tried their best to put up with them. Overall great place. Quality ingredients and put together very well.
Strong contender for my favourite restaurant in NYC. Never a miss, always original abs surpassing the memory of my last meal (dozens so far...) Great wine list at 50% of the price the other Michelin restaurants charge... Give it a try you will love it..
Amazing dinner
I loved the calm of the place. All the staff was very welcoming and really knew about the menu and wine also
Beautiful meal, wonderfully presented and prepared
Amazing gastronomic experience. Will come back.
The restaurant is too expensive for cooking. Premier Korean food is seldom so valuable, but there are too many floor staff. There were three or more people just standing without doing anything. I think that there are also many kitchen staff. The high price is probably due to staff labor costs.
Really cool fusion food. I love Korean food so this was a nice twist.
Pretty good but nothing special. I could only remember the octopus but there are other places that can cook it well too.
Great place~~!!!!
Very very thoughtful tasting menu. Every course was well executed. Definitely a must go!
(Translated by Google) It was delicious! I chose the Seasonal course and got $ 200 for each tip and tax. But it was a great experience that was not at all harmful. Please come to the anniversary!
One word "Amazing"!
Jungsik exceeded our expectations by far. The food was exceptional. We ordered their signature tasting menu and a few cocktails (including non alcoholic). It's hard to pick a favorite, but I will dream about their soup with foie gras dumplings, wagyu beef and bone broth. The service was also outstanding without being pretentious. They were very accommodating and understanding about my modifications request. Jungsik is perfect for a special occasion!
Please be nice to your costumes. :( tell your front desk to learn how to speak to your costumes, and to learn how to using computer to help costumes make the important appointment. And DO NOT MAKE WRONG.
Great dining experience. Been here every June four years in a row. Unlike any restaurant I have been to. Korean-French cuisine beautully presented.
Seriously, you need to eat here. It's so good I can't even describe it.
One of the few Michelin starred (2*) restaurants with a Korean focus, Jungsik is absolutely worth a reservation and visit. We tried the seasonal menu (August 2017) and the amuse bouche "banchan" was an amazing way to start. Some standouts include the black cod (the texture, marinade, and temperature were all perfection) and duck breast (the seared, amazing skin was divine). The royal bibimbap supplement was just layered with black truffles from the Perth area, but was definitely more of a risotto made with barley than a traditional bibimbap. But please, do yourself a favor and go here if you can. I hope to revisit in the future.
Very good take on modern "Korean" food, although menu is more European that you'd expect. "Agressive" pricing (wish items were a la carte) but flavor combinations are unique and delectable. Great wine list & pairing options.
All the food, desert and drinks was very fresh and delicious, overall a very relaxing experience and lovely atmosphere.Thank You!!
I went here last Friday with my husband for dinner date. Food is spectacular and i enjoyed their mocktails ($7 each which is very decent for any NYC restaurants). Service was great & the manager had a good sense of humor. I gave 4 stars as portions were way too small for us for $190 / person tasting menu. Price was decent for what we got but i'd rather pay a bit more for a little bit more food as we left the restaurant still a bit not full.. Maybe i am used to regular US portion. But either way, amazing presentation and highly recommend to try tasting menu.
Great Dessert Tasting menu! Worth every penny
My fav place for delicious korean food. Next time I'll be back with my friends. This place has a nice feel to it.
Very nice
So-so Food, sloppy service. Compared to other Michelins, it is not as good as the one star. The food is fancy and somewhat exotic, yet it is not as impressed as you would expect. Two staff served us. One waitress was really nice and lovely. She taught a lot about the food to us. However, the waiter who was in a suit (maybe he is a supervisor and wears a suit jacket which is different from others who are in vest) really annoys me. After serving the bread, the table was kinda dirty and he did not even clean the table for us but just put the incoming dish to cover the spot with crumbs. Besides, he did not specify choices that we could have but after we decided to order the tasting menu, he said we could add a 60 dollars to add a royal bibimbab. Thankfully it was not a date otherwise I may have to buff up and order that since it would be lame not to order in front of your lovely date. Anywho, I may be wrong but I definitely would not come back.
Exceptional service and fun dinning experience. Big fan of the pastry chef Eunji Lee and her famous Baby Ba-Na-Na.
Everything was unexpected, we love every detail in each dessert. We tried a dessert tasting menu for celebrating our anniversary and it was hilarious because the banana dessert....why a banana for wedding anniversary..??? Even it was tasty and very well done the cremeaux and the very thin white chocolate layer shell. Hehe. The only thing we didn’t like is that they had our spot ready, but in the bar :-( It was very uncomfortable because I’m not a skinny person, so I couldn’t fit well in there. My question is.....why they did not offered a table instead of the bar stools?? My husband and I thought the night before if that dessert tasting will like us then we gonna make a reservation for trying the seasonal menu for next day, but we changed our mind after they place us on the stools. Sadly.
Modern elegant restaurant with exceptional service, FOOD and wine. Will recommend to all friends and family traveling to NYC. Tasting menu is properly portioned for the average eater. Will definitely be visiting again.
This is my fav restaurant for 6 years straight. Doesn't matter where you go, the NYC location or Seoul, Jungsik just never disappoints. They only offer the best of everything, and I have always been blown away every time that I dine at Jungsik.
It's on my list to go back. It was that good. The octopus was my highlight just for the radical change in me, where octopus does not have to be chewy anymore. The kalbi was so tender as a proper medium rare on a thick cut. The cod was so soft that for a moment I was gripping silken tofu. The foie gras starter and the oyster hidden in I forget was such a table setter. The beef with poured over beef broth had four different tastes, one for each bite. Caviar on its own is good, but the crispy quinoa was the star and is now the one way I will eat quinoa. The banana-looking shell filled with banana custard hit all of my senses. Well done, just well done.
Amazing dinning experience. Excellent service! Best desserts in NYC.
This is quite possibly the perfect restaurant. I'm going to try my best to think of something to nitpick about. The service was friendly and the wait staff outnumbered the patrons. Water refilled quickly without asking. Cocktails were beautifully designed and delicious. We chose the seasonal menu as it had more of the food options we wanted. Each course was more jaw dropping than the previous. Foie gras infused pudding Scallop sitting on amazing truffle infused sauce Fresh sashimi Fresh tuna tartare Truffle and sea urchin over rice Amazing dessert options Yeah so I still can't think of anything to complain about. It's perfect.
When we talk about high end Asian restaurant, we think of Japanese. Try this Korean restaurant for a change - won’t disappoint you. Comfortably sitting as two star Michelin
