I don't even know where to start? everything was amazing. the hostess , my waitress , my server??!!! All just so down to earth, genuinely interested in you as a customer! Food was INSANE!! my chicken was beyond delicious, the mushrooms and green beans!!! I don't do dessert and was here on business ,or I would've taken it to go??!! just so accommodating! I had to drag it out of cashier about leaving a tip, wish I had more cash to leave! You MUST go there ,when in the area!!

First of all the food is great. We were a party of four (two kids) and we ordered four entrees and split them. Each dish was so good it almost made me sorry they rotate their menu every few weeks. I'm not sorry, variety is a good thing. Service was also top notch, not just the basics, but everyone was very friendly, especially Moe. Outside of all that, which made the experience great to begin with, the model of Soul Kitchen is inspired, both its farm to table roots and how integral community outreach and involvement are to its spirit. Will be a consistent spot of ours for some time to come.

What an amazing and humbling experience. The staff, what a beautiful welcome. I felt like they were family to me if but a short time. So friendly and genuine. The food was tastefully cooked and appreciated. Jon and Dorothea, what you guys are doing with JBJ Soul Kitchen in helping out the less fortunate, warms my heart. You just never know if you could ever be in a sad situation and maybe someone could help you out. I love and always have, the amazing group of Bonjovi but this guys, has really put it over the top. We went because of their Mission but could quite happily return for the food. Our Sunday brunch was amazing. Fresh flowers on the table. Every person working checked in with every guest. My soup was sublime!! and my Challah French toast with fresh blueberries was to die for. Truly the best French toast I've had since my mom's when I was a little girl. We shared dessert because I was too full to eat a whole one, but I wanted to try everything. My husband and I go out often for inexpensive meals and the occasional moderately priced meal. We try lots of different places, so while I'm no expert I do have a good baseline. We got fine restaurant dining at a price (we left the suggested dollar amount plus enough to help another guest else with a meal) somewhere between fast food and diner. Seriously. Go because the heart of the JBJ Soul Kitchen speaks volumes but expect five-star service and food at this lovely, unassuming eatery.

Great experience, lovely customer service, tasty food. It’s a small restaurant with a home-y feel to it. 3 courses for $20, or you can volunteer an hr of your time. You can also pay an additional $20 to feed someone in need which is highly recommended. A fantastic concept!

We go there every year, the food is excellent and the people are great. The hostess at the front who seats the people is fabulous. Everything you have to eat there is great. They now have there own sauce that you can buy at shop rite and target. It is one of the best sauce that you get in a jar. We are telling all our friends about it. It's worth the ride. We come from Staten Island and don't mine traveling. I rate soul kitchen as a 10.

VERY friendly staff, good music. (they don't play Bon jovi though, I have to say I was kinda disappointed by that) I have never felt this full tbh, $20 for a delicious and three-course meal is very cheap to say the least. The vegetables are home-grown, you can even volunteer for gardening! If I lived in New Jersey I'd volunteer regularly just for the sake of being there. They have a really helpful employment program for those who volunteer there, which is cool too. I have been wanting to come here since I was 12 and I'm really glad to say it exceeded all my expectations (... except maybe Bon Jovi's music in the background one, but Beatles and other old songs made up for that)

The most incredible friendships and moments happen at Soul Kitchen. You'll share a table with wonderful people who may be interested need or not. Everyone is on the same socioeconomic level when they walk though the doors. Plus the food is outstanding!

Food was yummy! So much better than many of the other restaurants in the area. Community seating was unexpected but went along with their philosophy. $20 a plate covers 3 courses, drinks, tip. I really liked not having to worry about pricing. Love that they allow people to pay for their meals via volunteering. Will be back!

Soul Kitchen is an amazing experience. First, by paying it forward, you can feel like you're doing a little bit of good in the world. But you're also getting an amazing dinner. Seriously, where else can you get a three course meal for twenty bucks? I can't say enough great things about the place, the food, and the folks who work there. Know that it *isnt* cash only as suggested above, meals are $20 (unless you have a meal voucher; you can help others with meal vouchers by paying a little extra), and seating is family style so say hi to the people sitting next to you.

This place was amazing. I planned my vacation around coming to eat at Soul Kitchen. My sister and I actually stayed in Red banks and commuted back and forth to New York by train . We are from Tennessee and had know idea how things would be. People in Redbanks were all very nice and we felt safe here in this gorgeous City. I was so overwhelmed by the welcoming we received from the Soul Kitchen staff it was all I could do to not cry. We definitely will be back. Thanks Tammy Warren and Michelle Rogers We love you all.

Best place ever. Highly recommended. It's a community restaurant that the proceeds help those who cannot afford them y'all. You do not receive a check at the end of the meal. If you cannot afford it discreetly you can ask to do some work in the restaurant in exchange for your meal. It is the best concept ever. The food is delicious. It's a 3 course meal. With your selection of hot or cold beverages. Everything is homemade. And as much food as possible is grown at the Garden outside the restaurant or at the large garden a few miles away.

The JBJ Soul Kitchen in Red Bank is a great place to stay. The found is so delicious. They serve healthy food grown locally, partly in the garden in front of the Soul Kitchen. Each meal looks like art on the plate and tastes as good as it looks. The staff is very friendly and always open for a chat. If you come alone you are usually seated with somebody else and can make new friends. This is a wonderful concept and makes you feel dining in a huge families living room. And last but not least you support people who are less fortunated by eating here. The menu has no prices. They expect a minimum donation of 20 Dollars for one meal and they really appreciate each dollar you can donate extra if you want to. It is possible to pay with credit card. Taken all together it's a wonderful experience to eat here
