REVIEWS OF Insa IN New Jersey

Thibault Hermenault

Food is ok, nothing to rave about. Portions are ridiculously small, like you would not believe. They say bbq dishes ($30-$40) serve up to 2 people, which may be true if you had a full meal before. 6 people, $240 (all food + 2beers) and everybody was still hungry. We went back home and just ate...

Jocelyn Borgner

If I could give them 6 stars, I would! Went here recently for a fellow local guide's birthday and was absolutely floored. The staff was kind and knowledgeable, and made recommendations based on each person's tastes. The food was AMAZING. There's really no way to say it other than we all walked away incredibly satisfied -- straight into their karaoke rooms in the back! I honestly can't say enough good things about Insa, I'll definitely be back!

Blonka Winkfield

Super cute Korean BBQ spot. Karaoke in the back and food in the front. The food is not the best Korean barbecue I've ever had but for large groups and teams they truly enjoy it.

Courtney Berman

The karaoke was nice, but the food I dont reccomend

Ilona Rizzo

Delicious food, fantastic atmosphere. Vegetarian options. Great for a romantic date night but they also have tables for bigger parties. Modern meets traditional. Fun little bar adjacent to restaurant as well as karaoke rooms for rent.

carolina Vivas

Very tasty, good service, but veryx2 expensive.

Jason Westerkon

Korean BBQ of this quality can be hard to find outside of K-Town. Really nice wood-featured open decor. Food is tasty, fresh, and fairly priced. Portions could have been bigger. Biggest issue was we were 12 people at a long table with two grills, but they only used one, which hindered the experience. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

This place has potential but overall has too many problems and we left disappointed. The space is great with tall ceilings and good ambience. The servers are nice enough. They do grill and cut the food at your table. We came with a party of 5. The wait was an hour, so we went across the street to the bar. After 90 minutes we called and the hostess said they had tried calling but it was the wrong number. Okay.. we let that pass and came back for our table. We ordered 3 items from the BBQ section plus an order of pajeon which was the amount the server recommended. The food was tasty but we all left unsatisfied. An order or kalbi is only 2 or 3 pieces for $30. The rice came out halfway through our meal. The banchan (sides) were small and we had to ask for refills. Some of the sides we didn’t get refills on even after asking. Eventually we just ate the meat and rice before it got cold.

Ahad Subzwari

Very good traditional style KBBQ in a not very traditional setting. Love the decor and size of the space. Food is very solid and staff is very attentive and helpful. Would recommend for KBBQ if you're not around more traditional spots.

Dana Baldini

Best Korean barbecue in the city hands down. K-town joints have nothing on Insa. Get the Tkeokbokki and Chadolbaegi (brisket).

Frank La Frazia

Had a wonderful party here for my wife! Best Korean BBQ in Brooklyn!

Darrell Anderson

Love the layout. And my BBQ ? Well I didn't have to cook it. I'm a fan.

Alan Leber

Sad if this is anyone's intro to Korean BBQ. Food ranged from okay to good, but KO BBQ is normally a fast moving meal and that speed was lacking. Service was friendly but not very attentive or comfortable cooking the meat for us.

Jeannie Martin DeLoach

Insa is by far my favorite spot for karaoke in NYC. It's so much nicer than the Manhattan ones, and the food here is unbelievable. Korean BBQ chicken wings, pork buns, dumplings... And a solid selection of soju and craft beer. Sure, it's a bit on the pricey side, but you definitely get your money's worth! You can also come here for just dinner; it's spacious but always packed when I've visited.

James Kop

Good but too pricey imo. I have this attitude with most Korean BBQ places however. People seemed to be having a great time in the Karaoke rooms. Impressive space. Worth a look.

Kyle Johnson

Nice atmosphere, unique. Great happy hour specials. Tip included in prices. Dumplings may have been the best. Beef brisket was overcooked by server :/ not that cheap! Above average meal.

Jeff Sterrenberg

If you've ever been to a Korean BBQ restaurant in Korea Town you may just ask yourself, "why am I paying this much for incredibly mediocre food?" The service was good and waitstaff was very friendly but it's a pretty hard pill to swallow to pay $30 to watch someone burn 13 shrimp right before your very eyes. Why did I just pay $15 for 7 dumplings that are in no way better than a frozen gyoza I could make at home? Ambience is great and I bet the Karaoke is fun too but also way overpriced compared to what you can find elsewhere in the city. The restaurant was full of white Brooklynites and tourists who had seemed like they'd never had Korean food before.

Jared Olmsted

Go for half price karaoke M - W

Samuel Ullman

Fun karaoke, and good Korean BBQ. Staff is friendly as well.

Vincenzo Rosselli

Good food and staff the short ribs are amust

Andrew Hansen

Half-off the karaoke rooms M-W and the food is always so delicious!!

Tan Tran

A very okay Korean BBQ. The fried chicken was delicious, but after that it wasn't much to talk about. The staff is great and the design is lovely, but the BBQ portion left much to be desired. It wasn't worth it to me personally, I will most likely not be coming back.

We had a reservation for 8 for eating in the dining area, and then karaoke afterward. They have a tiki style bar area that we waited at for rest of our party to show up, as they don't seat until you have your full party. After being seated and server came to take our order, a few subtle things started to happen. The server proceeded to walk away to attend to another table, halfway when we were making our order and deciding between items. We ordered their house soju and they gave us a bottle that was 3 quarters finished. We let them know and they didn't even realize and were confused why we wanted to return the bottle, and we had to point it out more clearly to them. Then a different server came by and asked whether there was a problem with the bottle. We were surprised that there was such a lack of communication between the staff, it's clear that it was already drank by a different group before us. We haven't even started eating or drinking yet.. The poor service continued as they gave us an order for a different table. We had to correct them again. In the end we tried to appreciate the food and drink, but their house made soju was actually disgusting. I'm not really sure what we expected, especially since it wasn't flavored soju or anything. The meat quality was mediocre. We soon realized that the only reason why people came to this establishment was that they probably live too far from ktown manhanttan - because the price was the same for subpar meat quality. I highly recommend against coming here if you are able to just go to ktown. This place also requires advanced reservation for weekend nights, I guess since it'd the only kbbq in the entire area. The karaoke was decent. They have an app you can use for song selection. Overall I would say if you live in bklyn it's probably an okay choice, but not worth trekking to if you're coming from Manhattan.

Xzavier R

I actually loved their food and service, awesome location next to my house. The cashiers are always nice. Will come back again.

Isaac Aronow

Very much worth the price. Try the Mai Tai.

Tahmina Aripova

Loved it, nice atmosphere, lots of delicious appetizers. Service is okay, $$ for prices, but it worth it.

rochelle spann-williams

We were there 2 celebrate a birthday. We all had the best time. The food was different, but delicious. Service & hospitality was superb. The karoke was awesome. Can't wait 2 go again.

Amol Kaikini

Very good food and a good place to have a nice meal with family and friends. My grandkids love it as much as the grown-ups

Lijiu

Long wait. Called and hostess said 20 min wait. Didn't let us put our names down. When we arrived 5 mins later, the wait became 1-1.5 hours! That's a huge difference! They should just allow reservations over then phone or last least allow people to put their names down over the phone. What's the point of making people come in to put their names down just so they could go to other neighborhood restaurants when the wait is long!? The business model is unsound and needs flexibility, especially in a digital age like today.

Mateo Trujillo

Tried this spot already with my friend and I am hooked ever since. I liked the awesome ambience and yummy dishes and drinks. Highly recommended.

Christopher Riley

Had a great night hanging out at the bat. The food was great and the drinks were tasty. Shout out to Ryan for being a great bartender and all around cool guy.

Edward DeSantis

Great food, great service, fun atmosphere what more could I ask for? Bibimbap was delicious and all the small plates that accompany the meal were a delight.

Vlad Z

Awful Service, good food but overpriced. And they pull that BS where there's no tipping but they automatically add 20% fee to your order. No, either raise your prices and charge me nothing or let me pay the gratuity i think your staff deserves based on how they perform.

Beto Andrés Silva

:) incredibly great cocktails too !

Daekyung Choi

Poor quality of food... It's not a real korean food. It didn't seem staffs understood what Korean food is.

Erin Slonaker

Have celebrated some birthdays here and have consistently loved it. On a weeknight it's not too insane, and if you have a larger group sitting at one of the big tables is really luxurious! The food and drink have always been stellar. We've yet to do karaoke but I hope to someday!

Donna Murphy

Can't stop thinking about our dinner there a few nights ago. wow. wow. wow. A table of 8 adults, everything was so delicious and the staff were incredibly efficient. I took a glimpse of the kitchen and it was the cleanest and most organized kitchen I've ever seen. I cannot wait to visit Brooklyn again and return to Insa.

Eddie Boyle

My wife and I asked for a separate check from our party since we were leaving before karaoke at the start of the meal. The waitress told us we coiuld get a separate check. When the check came at the end of the meal it was all one check when we got a separate check after arguing they hit my wife and I with a twenty percent gratuity. I would never return to this place. The service was awful and the waitress lied to our face repeatedly. If you want good service look elsewhere. The manegment was also completely incompetent and unhelpful.

Samuel Tang

A lot of fun and great drinks. Karaoke rooms are fantastic and have good soundproofing. Staff is very nice as well

Mike Warren

Insa was a great date spot. We had the dry aged beef, it was amazing and totally worth the price. We also had the rice cakes and sweet potato noodles - everything was delicious. The local beers were on spot and the soju was super smooth. Don't miss the soft serve with caramel and pretzels! We will definitely be back soon.

Bryan Thelonious

Tried the grill food. It’s over charred and leaves a burnt taste in mouth. Yuck!

Dark Lord

The food is great and there is a comfortable bar as well. But there is one waitress that's rude about tips.

Katie Jablonski

Really fun atmosphere, great cocktails, and awesome food! Fried chicken was amazing!! Def recommend!! PS well ventilated so you won’t smell like the bbq after your meal!!

Steven W. Giovinco

Went for a wedding, and it was great. The food was tasty; service was great with a cool vibe.

Jennifer Kalb

We were impressed by the tasteful decor, cordial and well informed service and particularly the delicious food with tastes ranging from robust to delicate. Interesting drinks selection too.

iostmol

I was blown away at the quality of the food here. Lively Korean bbq place with amazing cocktails. The fried chicken is to die for, all the dumplings are amazing. Service was top notch, possibly has something to do with the 20% service fee included! No tips! It was a very reasonable $550 for 10 people. Highly recommended.

Rachel Anne Miranda

I was so excited to finally have some Korean barbecue, it had been months since I have had any. I'm originally from California and had been looking forever to find a new Korean barbecue place, and when I came across this restaurant I felt like this was the closest place I could find to back home. So, when the friendly Hostess greeted me I was uber excited to be there. But, then the waitress came and that's where it all went downhill. I told her I wanted to use the grill in front of me and that I would like some bulgogi and we briefly discussed what other food could be put on the grill, and we came to the conclusion of me ordering the bulgogi she then placed my order, what took like it seemed forever to get to me. It turned out that they don't serve bulgogi Raw, it is cooked and is served to you that way. I was highly disappointed due to the fact that the only reason I went there was to use the grill to cook meat and have the total experience. This was something I told the hostess in excitement and my waitress. It quite frankly seems to me that the waitress just was not even really paying attention to anything I was saying and when my food got to me it turns out I was right. She, asked me if I would like a drink and I agreed that yes I would like another drink. After waiting 15 minutes with no drink to arrive, she then returned to me and said, "are we done, would you like your receipt?" I couldn't help but look at her dumbfounded and think to myself, you haven't even checked on me at all! Now, that you see I'm done with my food, now you ask if I want to drink then when I say I do you don't even bring it, it seemed at the time she was avoiding me after I got my meal. Knowing that it wasn't the way I had originally requested it, and when she did bring me my food, and it came to me cook and I asked her why. She tried telling me that she told me I couldn't cook it on the grill, that was a complete lie. It's one thing to be served the wrong food, it's another thing for the waitress to then try to put it on you, that was absolutely not okay! Then you asked me for a drink and disappear again, finally you ask me for my receipt and act as if everything was okay. The lack of common sense that she used, really ruined my whole experience; for one having Korean barbecue for the first time in New York and two at this individual location. Then when I get my receipt not being advised that there is already a service fee that is going to be attached, the first thing I told my waitress when I sat down was that this was my first time eating Korean BBQ in New York and being at this restaurant, one would think she would have as a waitress, advise me of all of the ins and outs within their establishment from food to how they serve two prices. But, no none of this was even considered for my service. That infuriated me, because the service was one non-existent and two her communication was non-existent, so therefore requiring me to give a service fee for service that was not properly rendered, quite frankly was ridiculous. I will never come to this establishment again and since I have been here, I have had people ask me about it and I tell them that it is their choice if they want to go or not, but I would never recommend it to anyone. The Ambiance was nice and to know that they had karaoke in the back was nice as well, but that didn't make up for the lack of customer service. The hostess could tell I was upset and tried to apologize as I walked out, but that was not her responsibility, I could see she was making a last-ditch effort to salvage what had gone South due to the waitress, the hostess had even said she could talk to the chef for me but once again that was not her responsibility.

Tom MacNabb

The Korean version of fried chicken is so good, the combination of crunchy, sweet, spicy. Insa’s chefs are definitely doing it right, now throw in great drinks including locally produced soju and you have a night out I hope to repeat again and again!

Jerry H

The aged ribeye was fantastic, highly recommend that option and cooking it yourself to tinker with perfection. The fried chicken was pretty good too. They add gratuity automatically to checks and do not expect tips. Finally!

Ryan Jones

Loved the Kareoke rooms and great service!

Joe Wright

Absolutely fantastic Korean food and wonderful service.

Sarah Salinas

Great food great environment and I even got a free dish when I went. Pricing a little High, averaging around 16-18 dollars per dish.

Carly Trilivas

Great place with sleek decor. The staff needed some training in using the table grill and explaining the dishes better, but we had a great time with some tasty small plates of good variety. They have beautiful karaoke private rooms as well.

Valerie S

Had better service before

Terrance Woods

Great and delicious food, I loved the ambience this place has, and the employees were welcoming. Will surely come back again.

Morsy Music

Unique Korean food experience with the coolest cozy kareoke rooms. The chicken was incredible, juicy, crispy, spicy and so flavorful! The clear noodles were fresh and full of good veggies and the dumplings had the perfect texture. The beer selection was super with tons of local brew options, they even had a beer that's made across the street. Of course I can't forget to mention they have Korean beers like OB and HITE. The place is suitable for any occasion.

Kasia Merrill

For the price, we expected the food to be flavorful and the service to be great. This restaurant has the prices of an upscale restaurant, but honestly, I've had much better food and service at casual Korean barbecue restaurants. The twice fried chicken was the best, but most of the barbecued meat (each around $30-50) was unseasoned and not as much to share as expected. Service was the worst. The servers are kind, but understaffed. The bartender was completely neglectful and we often were waiting upwards to 45 minutes for a beer and would have to go chase down the server to ask again. Overall, I'd say save your money and eat at a casual Korean barbecue place. Food will be the same, or better.

Charles Tai

Good food. Ktv way overpriced, song selection and system dated

Tuvsho G

It was okay. Seemed too pricey for what we paid for. For 29 dollars I had 3 slices of meat which was not enough for 2 people. There was almost no meet in soup for 17 dollars.

Mr. Green

Food tasted great. But it's as the other reviews have said the food price is a little higher than I'd like.

Joseph Raczynski

They have karaoke in the back and the setup is great. Experienced two of the rooms. One fit 8-10 and the other 20 or more. Good acoustics, several mics, a mini stage in the bigger room and a tambourine!

Sara Monsonis

Best cocktails. Food is delicious. Service is always good.

Monique Wade

One of my favorite restaurants!

keza lawrence

Great food..staff was really nice and helpful

Andrew Rodriguez

Great food, great atmosphere. Happened to go on a rainy day, so the wait wasn't ludicrous.

Ryad Vachha

Great food and service. Love their fried chicken!

Sincere Cochran

The customer service is always swift, lovely mood, kind staff members. Will visit here again when I get in the area.

Chris Steers

Fernando was the most amazing help and support between dinner and our karaoke groups for out of state groups. We will sure to be back. Thank you!

S H

Bar, bbq, ktv. Beers are mostly Japanese though.

Yuri Medvinsky

Be prepared to spend your hard earned cash on food that is just plain mediocre. It's like Korean BBQ wannabes. Go to Korean town in the city. You will be better off.

Ervin Strnisnik

Really liked the food. We had beef and seafood bbq options and thoroughly enjoyed it. Only the wait for the table slightly ruined our experience. Will be back however!

Adam Kauder

Great Korean and karaoke

Sandro Lubas

Very nice Korean bbq spot. Staff is super nice and extremely helpful with people that have food allergies. They care! The food is very good and portions are big! Highly recommended. In addition if you are up for karaoke they have rooms in the back, very very nice!

K R

Food is good, atmosphere is for a party gathering - great for family outing, friends gathering, all ages. Service was relatively quick, we didn't have to wait long. It gets noisy, but that is part of the experience. Food sharing is Ok, staff helps with that. And there's karaoke in the back!

Alex Alapatt

Great selection of food with good prices. They also had a good drink menu.

Coen Day

I always arrive buying some food here. I enjoy the swift customer service and well prepared dishes. They never disappoint.

Diane Kang

Great service, great food. Private karaoke rooms and an excellent bar. Two thumbs up all around.

Edell Parker III

I'm sorry, didn't hit the mark. A big fan of Korean BBQ, I was left sadden by the experience. The food unfortunately was a muted version of the typical Korean spread and the service suffered as well. Wish we would have taken our $$$ to flushing.

Megan Armstrong

Say what you will about this place, but it’s my humble opinion that they DO in fact have WORKING bathrooms available to customers!

Kimberly Maduabum

The food here is very good and high quality. Overall the restaurant is pricey but it is worth it. They have seating that works for big or small groups.

Kamui G.

We did karaoke first. We were a party of like 12 people, so we ended up squished at one of the longer tables. At one point during the meal we ask to change the grill since it was a bit burnt and the girl (think she was new) looked at us like we had multiple heads. The other waitress who was our main server sorted things out. Food was just ok, more like knock of Korean BBQ. If you’re wondering when the vents are... they’re under the tables.

Shelley Rodriguez

Their chicken is amazing. Had a wonderful time doing karaoke. The set up is great. Will go again

Jazelyn Montanez

Came for a fun work event. Food & drinks were good. White wine bottle ordered not so great. Over all the experience was great and we would definitely come again to eat 1st then sing after.

Kevin Chou

Insa is a classy Korean BBQ restaurant with great food and service. The side dishes are tasty, and the pork belly and beef we ordered were wonderfully made by our waiter. The first time we came here, it was packed, so we waited at the bar for our table and ordered some fried chicken. We loved the chicken so much that we barely had room for our food when we were seated! I cannot comment on the karaoke here as I have only visited to dine.

B2 Spirit

In the best and greatest city in the world, I love Aidan food, particularly. Korean. Although there are many Koreans places in all 5 boroughs, check this one out in Brooklyn. This place is great to visit in groups or with family. You will taste every ingredient and sauce... Even with the tip included in the bill, I recommend still placing whatever extra tip you feel they deserve ..

Phil Wingo

#porkmafia inda house

Sara Rubin

great food and good portions.

Missunderstood 02

The food didn't really wow me. However some of the dishes like the fish and the dumplings were good.

Kyle Wiley

Excellent experience and food. Do not bring your own wine to be uncorked. I repeat do NOT bring a bottle of wine to be uncorked, they have a $25 per bottle uncorking fee. I was overall very happy with the experience just regret paying to bring my own wine.

Eny Parker

Remember that scene where we find out Emma Stone is somewhat Asian in the movie Aloha? Here’s the the restaurant version. The movie has 20% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Kat Walker

Spectacular, all around amazing. The food is stellar, the bbq section cooked right at your table. The servers are polite and lovely, making you feel like you're talking to a life-long friend. A clean and modern atmosphere that incorporates a Korean style and feel. Perfect!

James Bond

. After reading other reviews I felt I needed to edit my review that follows. Try reading the menu it clearly states that tipping is NOT expected and a %20 fee is charged so they can provide benefits for their staff. We had no problem with that and tipped our waiter anyway which by the way he told us wasn’t necessary. Would go back again today if I could. First time trying Korean BBQ and I was not disappointed. One of the best meals of my life! The restaurant it self was very inviting with a view of the kitchen. Even the bathrooms were spotless which might not seem like a big thing but says a lot about the owner and staff. There’s a small but very cozy bar off the dining room with craft beer from the brewery across the street. The IPA was fantastic! Our waiter James did a great job of explaining and preparing the food at the table side BBQ. We were a group of 4 and even after tipping above the %20 that’s added to the bill so they can give the staff medical benefits which we had no problem with it was $100 per person. Considering how much we drank and ate I thought we definitely got our monies worth.

Ruth Buchanan

Insa is comfortable and casual. My partner and I went on a Friday night near the holidays and they had plenty of room for us – most of the dining room was filled with families with kids and larger parties. We ordered the galbi and the pork belly. Both were divine. They let us do the grilling ourselves, which was refreshing since it makes the experience more intimate (no server standing over you while you make conversation), and the servers were friendly, funny, and prompt. Cocktails were great and the bar decor is fab.

Cindy Engel

Great Korean BBQ

Yurky Reyes

The Food was pretty good and tasty

jane Tseng

Excellent warm and friendly service. Great cocktails and delicious consistent food.

Dmitriy Briskin

One of the best Korean BBQ places in Brooklyn. Don't let the front door phase you, the place is huge on the inside. One giant hall with several private rooms for parties and kareoke. The food is delicious, and very good beverage menu. The staff is fast and courteous, and chefs know their stuff.

vS2 No

Food was not authentic. I will be honest you are better off going to Korea town or Jackson heights. Service is pretty bad, and I paid over 70 dollars for burned meat. Also the host needs major lessons in customer service, he was very nasty about getting table at 4 o’clock in the afternoon when there were entire sections open. They charge a automatic 20 percent Gratuity fee because they know the service is rude.

Vincent Reynaud

It was tough to grade this place. We had a great time, the drinks were coming, the fried chicken arrived and changed our lives, the waitress was lovely...and then the check arrived. The waitress we had, had to leave early so we ask for the check to this young man. After dropping the bill, we looked at it and asked a simple question "hey... There is a 20% charge... Is the tip included ", and here the answer was nothing but a yes or no. "the restaurant has a no tip included tips policy ...but those 20% goes to a collecting system for the waiters and staff". OK soooo it is included? Here again the answer was so complicated that I had no idea what he was saying. So why don't u just say yes. U made it complicated to take advantage of the fact that I have an accent and right there is the reason why I won't come back. Too bad. Great place, great food, great environment ... But I can't accept the way you charge people and then don't be honest about it.

Ryan Flynn

Always solid. If it's a busy night you can sometimes get lucky with bar seats or a bigger bar table. We love the chicken, the rice cakes, the seafood pancake. Great with a group. Call ahead and make a reservation for after dinner to sing karaoke.

Abdullah Craig

I visit this spot a lot since I work nearby. I must say their customer service is always great and they keep the place well kept at all times. Pricing is convenient and they serve big portions.

Tiffany Cheng

Insa is a super cool, trendy but homey kind of place. The bartenders are so friendly and warm, happy to recommend their favorites and really take care of you! The food at Insa is really great as well. They serve whiskey, wine, beer and have private karaoke rooms for large groups. Grab a bunch of friends for food, drinks and karaoke! A+ for the new digs in Park Slope.

Olivier Sentucq

Such an amazing EXPERIENCE. First time trying à Korean BBQ - found it very interactive and fun. Staff is very friendly, food delicious and great ambiance overall. We are definitely going back!

Aaron K Gray

I went here for a birthday get together and had a beautiful experience, the food was very very good, the service was wonderful, clean, I loved the hands on cooking we did at the table. If I could rate Insa 10/10, it would be 15/10. Thank You so much Insa for making my 1st experience there one I will always cherish.

Natalia Tutak

So, we went there yesterday, super excited about grilling the meat etc. The interior is stunning. The manu very pricey. We ordered fried rice with spam, fish and brisket bbq. Now, the fish was amazing, the rice was great but very plain. Not much flavour. The reason i gave it two stars is because of those two dishes. However, theBBQ was a disaster. The meat was so thin that the waiter who grilled it overcooked it and it was the most chewiest meat I have ever had! Not only it wasn’t seasoned. But the flavour was horrible. I couldn’t eat it, we leftmost of it on the plate- no oneasked us if it was ok. We left with $116 bill for a less than avarage meal. Won’t becoming back. Shame because I live so close and the interior isstunning. Please work onyour menu and maybe serve good quality meat.

Danielle Turner

Bibimbap was perfectly crispy on the bottom and the sweet potato noodles and house made spam were delicious

Jennifer Lee Donaker

It was a pleasant experience overall but it was expensive. The food is tasty but portions are small. Service was good but it better be as they automatically add 20% to your bill for service. I'd return as I don't want to deal with the hassle of going to K town and enjoyed our time there. They were also accommodating with children.

Rosary Lewis

I now know which is the place that about to see a lot of me this year. Lived everything about Insa. Read reviews before, and now know they are true. Good food lovely place and great vibe. I loved it.

Tiffany R

Great food, karaoke and drinks

Bianca Ng

Amazing, KBBQ. Beautiful interior space. Good for larger parties and groups. I come here when I wanna treat myself. This place is fancier than some of the AYCE places.

Paras Ghelani

Great food and service, though slightly on the more expensive side.

F. Esteves

Although service could be more attentive and proactive, food was quite good for Korean standards. Good drink selection, Karaoke rooms in the back are a nice surprise. Worth bookmarking it to come often

Yura Kim

I came here with a large group of around 10 people without making a reservation on a Thursday night. Luckily they were able to accommodate us right away. We ordered some food and drinks which turned out to be pretty good. There are a few karaoke rooms in the back by the bathrooms, but I haven't tried them. Tldr: good food, okay service, clean facility.

J Prov

Love it. A must if you want to try something new

L Green

Lots of fun!!

Mehdi Mollahasani

I had drinks and food at their bar. I really like their entrance. The drink was good, I enjoyed it as well. But I think the service was 50/50 and the food was less. Mostly the disappointment came from the establishment who added a mandatory 20% service fee (tips) to the bill. I’m sure their karaoke and their bbq tables are better, but I didn’t try them.

Carlo Fong Luy

Really enjoyed coming to Insa for dinner with a group of friends and karaoke afterwards. Quality of the food was excellent with the price cheaper than what you would get in Ktown. I liked the bibimbap and Korean fried chicken (must come back for maekju). However, our server was not very polite so I cannot give the full five stars.

K Nelson

LOVE everything about this restaurant- the menu, the wings, the karaoke rooms etc.

Tessie Viola

Came here on a date last night. It was the two of us on a Sunday night at 6:30. The wait was 45 minutes (They don't take reservations!) BUT they were very kind to inform us they had service at the bar. I excitedly jumped at the chance. When you first walk in, there's a little window that peaks into the bar/lounge area -- it's red, lush, and visually my aesthetic. There were a few seats at the side bar, but we were so crazy lucky there was an entire BOOTH open! It feel like a dream, we had skipped the whole line and found this hidden gem. So if it's crowded when you go, seriously see if you can swap to the bar. We skipped a group of five that could have easily fit in the booth. The bar area is waiterless, but the bar is 2 steps away and the food is delivered to you anyway. We had the gogi mandu fried, tteokbokki, and bossam. My favourite was the Gogi Mandu, amazing flavour and just the right level of crispy. Everything was great too. It was nice to go out and enjoy every aspect of the night. Our cocktails were fabulous, I recommend the Sun&Moon. It's worth the trek if you're not from the neighbourhood. I would love to come back.

First time at this place and the food was delicious. The staff was courteous and attentive. The appetizers, soup, rice, and noodles are all served fully cooked. The BBQ items are cooked at the table and served family style at the table. Our server Justin was attuned to our needs and overall he provided a great dinner service.

Over priced Korean BBQ. You're paying for the convenience of having karaoke rooms in a restaurant. The food is well below average. Go for a good group setting, not for the food.

sharkkoi

Really great food nom nom. The karaoke is great too (it's half off mon-tue-wed ;) wasn't me who told you)

If you are Korean, don't go there. I could not feel any Korean from the food. BTW we ordered jabchae, crab maewoontang, and pork mandoo. We had to return the crab Tang since it had plastic lines in it. Other two are mediocre. Side dishes are not tasty either. The last stop of a short NY trip was not a success.

I find them serving super authentic Korean food just like what I’ve had in Korea. Everything is cooked deliciously and served hot. Price is fair too.

great food and cocktails

We had a birthday party here and had the best time! Our server was GREAT! He helped us cook and let us sit back and drink. They have so many great options on the menu; small dishes, dishes to share and a good amount of vegetarian options. Then karaoke in the bad was AMAZING. They give you a server who can help with anything you need. Great place!

Dangelo Saunders

The place serves big dishes and for fair prices. very nice owner. Kudos.

Chad Rosario

We had an excellent experience at this place. We enjoyed the excellent environment and the meals. The staff were very attentive. I’m content we finally decided to try this place.

Marlou PeY

Food was good but a bit pricey. Staff were great - friendly and attentive, including the bartender! They have karaoke too.

Lionel Johnnes

Very fun and delicious food with great service. Great spot for group meals

Veronica Adorisio

Nice space. Nonchalant servers. Overpriced for the quality and quantity. But not bad.

Meagan Loo

Expensive but great Korean bbq in Brooklyn. The place is super cute too. Overall great and would def come back. Foods really good too

Love at first sight. Best Korean BBQ I ever had, the dry aged beef was top quality. The seafood pancake was the fluffiest and best cooked, too, I'd love to hear their recipe. The servers are very friendly. It gets too crowded sometimes and they don't seem to take reservations, so look for the business chart on Google Maps. I'll be going back.

Very nice casual atmosphere good for large groups or couple's. BEWARE If you have SHELLFISH allergy. Almost every dish contains shellfish but they have a separate little menu for you but it's not much on it. Strong drinks and very pricey.

Jassmine Andersson

A wonderful experience. I forgot how much fun karaoke is. Hanging with friends, good food, service. Will come back and would highly recommend a visit to Insa.

Kyetra Williams

The food here is so good. The staff has stellar recommendations and is very personable. The barbecue is absolutely delicious. The beef, the pork, and the octopus were amazing!

Adehla Lee

I ate here with my husband and ordered samgyebsal(BBQ pork belly), kimchi fried rice, and Jjolmyun. Kimchi fried rice was way too greasy and pork belly was one of the worst i ever had. It was little bit sour which is I don’t understand why. And strange thing about this place was they didn’t serve any dipping sauce for pork belly BBQ. Well, Jjolmyun was only ok from here. All the side dishes were bad too except for that black beans.

Cindy Lai

The dry aged rib eye was very tasty as was the seafood pancake. The fried chicken was too salty. The service was very good.

Evan Carpenter

We did private room karaoke for two hours and had a BLAST...until the check came. This place is EXPENSIVE. We had a group of 9 people there for 2 hours this weekend, we split three small dishes and walked out each paying $100. Insane! My vote is to always go to K-Town for karaoke, but if you’re set on this place, you’ll have a good time. Just save up beforehand.

B. Sullivan

Great place for groups, and the food was amazing. The portions look smaller than they are trust me. Minor Negative: its Korean bbq but you dont have any control over bbqing or how long the meat cooks or anything. They do it all for you standing next to you the whole time. Kinda weird if you ask me. If you aren't going to let me cook it at all, why not just cook it in the kitchen?

Wade Cole

The place serves big portions and for affordable prices. kind staff members. Never disappointing.

Hemesh Rama

Really bad food with not much taste and little accommodation for vegetarians except for a few dishes on a separate menu. Even the banchan were not very good. All four people ended up not eating most of the food because it tasted so bad. Also very overpriced -- paid about $100 for rice topped with some chopped vegetables.

If you're looking at the reviews wondering whether their sterling reputation is well-deserved than look no further friend. I could find no fault in my dining experience from start to finish, the service was impeccable and amiable. The decor and atmosphere yielded a wonderful experience. A word to the wise though Insa gets busy and quick so come in early or make a reservation if you don't want to wait. But wait you're telling yourself any well-known restaurant will surely cost a pretty penny, worry not the serving sizes are rather large, an appetizer, entree and 2 drinks cost us a mere 40$ a person, making this outing a go to spot for a night out with the fellas. Perfect for dates, celebrations or just to grab dinner at. Finally the food, my god the food was amazing! The reputation of their fried chicken is in-fact understated in my opinion one of the crispiest and most flavorful eats I've had in NYC. Now the BBQ is an absolute blast, the meat is good quality and the Ssam style is so much fun. Seriously get off of google maps and go eat you will not regret it!

Marcus Atkinson

Would definitely recommend visiting this place. Great atmosphere, delicious food, good service. Keep up the good work.

Insa is not only a wonderful restaurant it was a wonderful experience. Decor is beautiful, particularly the rounded wood walls. The food is delicious, have the Seafood Pizza to share with the table....Yum-City. My favorite dish was the whole roasted fish. (The Chef was nice enough to give me the secret of the seasoning for it.) and BBQ was great (we had the Short Ribs and Pork Belly) Very interesting drink menu and of course the Karaoke rooms are a blast. Can't wait to go back.

One of the absolute best restaurants I have ever been to. Food was insanely delicious. Our server James was amazing. Highly recommend. Will make the the 25 mile drive from NJ to come again! It's worth it.

Oliver M

The food is constantly well prepared and flavorful, employees hands over fantastic service. I really like how neat it is and vibes. Would recommend to others.

Brian Quiban

Amazing space for a one stop party shop. Dope bar, huge restaurant space with tableside Korean BBQ, perfect for large groups, and even karaoke rooms! The food is amazing. Highlights were the seafood corndog and the army stew which has their delicious homemade spam.
