Top Chef David Viana is at the top of his craft. Where else can you go to eat amazing New American cuisine in a intimate setting, cooked by one of NJ's premier chefs, AND get to chat with the man himself and ask him questions about the meals, his vision or anything else? His latest duck creation is the epitome of autumn, the pork belly will melt in your mouth and his ravioli and scallop dish is an innovation. Great staff, great atmosphere and fair prices for incredible food. As always, Chef Viana never disappoints.

Food was very very good. Extremely tasty and beautifully cooked. Our waiter first took a very long time to come to our table to the point where we had to ask where our waited was. When she arrived she wanted to talk about the history of the place and she was talking to fast and low that I just nodded in agreement without bothering with anything she said because it was impossible to understand for me. Im very tall and their tables are very low so I had to sit on the edge of the table not to tip it over with my legs which was not great. The girl who brought the wine noticed and put us over by a tall table counter and that was much better. Menu was designed so you have one of each item in the different categories and we waited for a long time for the food which wasn't really a bad thing. We enjoyed ourselves and it was a good 2 hour affair to be there to eat. The portion sizes!! They're very small!! I had two main courses and one starter and desert and one side and still left hungry! We left with a bill of 260 dollars for two people. To have to go home and get a sandwich isn't really fun after that. If they were to make the portion sizes alittle bigger so after having one of each category on the menu like intended, would leave you at least content I'd be a regular. But I will have to pass in the future.

Heirloom Kitchen is an absolute gem! Not only is it the most beautiful cooking school I've ever seen, the classes are always so great! They have such a wide variety of chefs and instructors for all different types of cuisines. The hands-on classes are always fun, informative, and give you the opportunity to learn how to make new foods that are easily transferable to making at home. The chef table dinners are always delicious, they are typically 4 or 5 courses, and they bring in wonderful chefs from all over the tri-state area. In addition, they have a very unique retail section which offers all kinds of useful and fun kitchen items at a great price. Heirloom kitchen rocks!

Even if one were to just take Heirloom Kitchen as a kitchenware retailer, they'd be more than pleasantly surprised at what they'd find inside; especially given it's location in Old Bridge, NJ. From an ever-changing, carefully curated array of one of a kind serving pieces to a wide variety of "gadgets" and tableware to an above average cookbook library; you could lose a fair amount of time in the kind of "please-touch-me" museum atmosphere. Thankfully for us food lovers, it's not just a retailer. With a state-of-the-art kitchen facility, Heirloom also offers a cooking "school" so comprehensive it rivals those found in much larger urban areas. Classes are available for the novice cook all the way through to those with a more sophisticated skill set. Either way, top notch instructors, special guests and wonderful dinners and tastings abound. All in all, if you love food, cooking and all things culinary you owe yourself a trip to this hidden Middlesex County gem.

Heirloom Kitchen is an outstanding kitchenware retail store as well as a stunning kitchen in which chefs from all over New Jersey/ New York conduct demonstration and participatory cooking classes. If you need to buy a gift or just want to take a cooking class, this remarkable store is the place to do it.

Edgar S. Renteria

Great food! Modern decor and it's BYO but they also have a great wine list. It doesn't get any better than that.

Jennifer Conte

Excellent! Also,if you like to cook, take one of their many classes. Lots of fun and at the end,a great meal you sit down and eat and they email the recipes to you so you can it do again at home.

Amazing food! Multi-sensory with flavors and textures in each dish that totally compliment each other. We tried the five course and OMG each one was different, delicious and spectacular! Chef David created a seamless team of support in and out of the kitchen. A magical delight! Thank you. Oh yes, priced appropriately.

Absolutely the worst customer service experience. Made a reservation for a corporate team building event months ahead of time and 11 days before our appointment they cancelled because they were overbooked. We scheduled this as our Christmas party since we were told they were booked solid in December and were assured that January was significantly easier to schedule. We disrupted the schedules of everyone in our company and some we flew in from LA for specifically this event. Deceitful and Disorganized. Managed like a jail-break. Totally devoid of compassion or caring. Response time to inquiries can be measured in weeks. Stay away from this awful business.

Greg Yang

Way better than many of the restaurants I've been to in NYC. Classy, unfussy, yet attentive service paired alongside some delicious food. Do not leave without ordering the pork belly, the duck, and the desserts!

Shea Langella

Phenomenal food, attentive staff, cool vibe, social place. I recommend!

Heirloom Kitchen in Old Bridge, New Jersey is an ideal spot to pick up unusual and hard to find kitchenware or tableware. This is where we found our dog and cat coffee cups.We also found our Swells at Heirloom Kitchen. The best thermos ever! Put hot coffee in a Swell in the morning and it's still hot in the afternoon. Same thing with your cold beverage, Still cold after six hours! The cooking classes are out of sight! Whether the class is in house or with a guest chef, you will always learn new styles and tecniques. I highly recommend Heirloom Kitchen.

We had our corporate team building experience! Chef David, Rob and Kendell were so down to earth, sharing so much knowledge of the food we prepared including the history of the orange carrot to properly peeling the promeagrante. We enjoyed an interactive participation of preparig a wonderful meal. ( Ribeye steak, with chimmichurri sauce, seasonal Panzella salad, delicious bread baked from thier dutch oven, homemade gnocci- (little pillows of love) and bourban glazed carrots to perfection. I would recommend Heirloom Kitchen for any event or simply go for dinner, take one of their many courses. Thank you Neilly, Chef David and the entire staff! GREAT JOB

This place reminds me of a fancy restaurant in Manhattan. it's nice and bright and I like the open floor design and chef's table at the grill. The pork belly appetizer was excellent, as well as the stuffed clams. We had the roast duck and Porterhouse pork chop for the main dishes. The meat was prepared perfectly. Very moist and and tasty and the portions were generous. The servers were very friendly and helpful. They had notes when questioned about the preparation of the various dishes. It is a BYOB establishment, but did offer some fairly priced wines. The prices are not for the faint of heart but the quality of the food warrants it a try.

I’d give HK 10 stars if I could! HK offers a unique and to my mind, an ideal dining experience, a relaxed, convivial atmosphere with phenomenal food. It’s a combination that I really appreciate; the focus is on dishes created with the freshest of seasonal ingredients, beautifully plated, served by an attentive and gracious staff, in an artfully designed setting. From start to finish, wonderful!

Demetre Serrano

Wonderful presentation, great attention to detail. Waitress we had, showed a great perspective of the mind behind the meal, giving us details about the food pairing process and how it all comes together! Come prepared to try something new, interesting and tasteful!

I have always enjoyed Heirloom Kitchen's food, but I wanted to share a recent, unfortunate experience that I think reflects the restaurant's poor customer service. I made a reservation for 11 people at their farm table over a month prior to the reservation date. Booking this table requires you to put down a deposit depending on the number of people that are attending. With less than two weeks before my reservation, I received an email that Heirloom had unexpectedly cancelled my reservation. Their staff said that there was a glitch in their online booking system and they hadn't realized people were still able to make reservations even though they were closed that evening for a private event. I found this concerning considering I booked a reservation over a month in advance and they only informed me 10 days before my reservation. It's unclear if someone booked the restaurant last minute and their staff had to then cancel all reservations for the same night. I also was unhappy with how we were treated once the error was realized and had been given this information. This wasn't just any reservation but an event with three special occasions, all of which Heirloom Kitchen knew about when I booked the reservation. Needless to say their lack of offering a consolation for cancelling last minute was incredibly disappointing. While they didn't owe me anything after refunding my deposit, I thought it would've been a nice gesture and good customer service to offer something other than "booking my reservation for another night." Despite enjoying their food and having been there multiple times previously, I was very disappointed in how this transpired and won't be going back.

Excellent all around!

We had a wonderful experience. Our server was absolutely amazing and very funny. I was at first surprised with the prix fixe only option but was super happy to find out i could add on from the corresponding fixe option i was ordering off of. Some of the dishes we totally a freak out, i didnt even know what was going on but it was delicious and flavors id never tasted before in one bite. Im a big eater and figured i would be hungry after but i was totally satiated after the meal and felt very good which is a sign of high quality food. We loved it and will def return! The lox flatbread was from outerspace and off the wall delish!!! The bamboo rice desert was on another level. We are foodies and we had a wonderful foodie experience!!!!

I went to Heirloom Kitchen for their 10 course seafood dinner with Chef David and Chef Anthony Bucco. This meal was an experience more than anything else. The flavors, the presentation, and the overall atmosphere were incomparable! This was my first time, but it will not be my last!

Heirloom Kitchen is a unique offering for any level of home cook, and those interested in learning more about food, cooking, and crafting a delicious, wholesome meal. Their classes use a relaxed and fun format to create an educational and enjoyable experience. I've told many friends & family about HK, and will be back for another class. The team is great -- plus, their retail section is nicely curated. Hopefully they expand to northern NJ soon!

Fusion food, modern cute place, music hip hop not quite my blend with upscale calm dining. Friendly staffs, pretty food, French small portion size, designed for young and retro crowds. Three course dinner for 5 cost $500 include tip are not expensive, but certainly not on a cheap side. Luckily, I love food small portion.

They have no choices for different foods the portion were terrible the worst part was the food and they trick to thinking the restaurant is good with the nice decorations

Jill Pianelli

Ambiance is bright and airy. Staff very accommodating. 3 course menu with 3 choices for each course. Went with 6 adults and a 4 year old. We tried everything on the menu. Food was ridiculously delicious. Loved everything I tried. A piece of a classy Manhattan restaurant right in our own backyard. BYOB. Dinner on weekends only. Will definitely be back!!!

We had another spectacular dinner last night at Heirloom. They’ve changed their format now offering a three course meal or a five course tasting menu. We always share our dishes so we opted for the three course and ordered six different dishes. The food here is so creative, beautifully plated and really good. Standouts from last nights dinner were many- fried oysters, ribs, “pasta salad”, “fried rice”, halibut and the wild boar. Service is professional and very friendly. Your wine and water glass is never empty! Heirloom is one of our favorite place to come to to enjoy not only a great meal, but a relaxed modern atmosphere

I attended with my boyfriend the 3 Course Prix Fix Top Chef dinner and was looking forward to it. We were figuring the food would be great for the price of $85/per person prepared by a "Top Chef". The rib eye was delicious with the wine reduction and "old fashion" swiss chard. However, our second dishes, chicken breast and and seafood fideo were very salty, and we didn't eat much. Our waiter person noticed and got an attitude. We had our dessert and asked for the bill. With how we were treated once we told them how we felt, we will not go back. People who pay good money for food, can't be honest!

Niraj Khanna

A gem in Old Bridge!! A cozy friendly place to eat they have fresh ingredients with a creative but limited menu that changes very often, so check before you go there. Plan on spending about 1.5 to 2 hours for dinner, only open Friday to Sunday. The whole dining experience is awesome, the bread was fantastic. The meat dishes portion were a nice size but Seafood dishes portions were a bit smaller than expected for the price but very yummy. The service is top notch.

I had a phenomenal experience at Heirloom Kitchen. I went there with a party of six. They did an excellent job with their pacing and accommodating a large party. The service was fantastic. The food was out of this world: beautifully plated, interesting, sophisticated, and delicious. And, the wine we ordered was excellent and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this new restaurant to anyone who wants an amazing dining experience!!!

This is a culinary experience. Take your time, trust your server, relax, and enjoy. If you can, plan ahead and reserve the chef's counter. Being able to interact with the chef while you watch your meal being prepared is amazing. The octopus, pork belly, and duck are basically a command performance. Their pastry chef consistently puts out incredible options and even their coffee and tea finish strong...Start there, then expand your horizons.

Evan Siegel

Superb meal. Chef's table was fun and great to hear stories from the chef. Octopus was unreal. Highly recommend for a special meal. Great staff.

I contemplated deducting a star because my quality of life has been lower since our dinner here Thursday night - it was that good. The broccoli salad with smoked ricotta, scallops with mushroom jam, corn pasta, and Meyer lemon bar were all to die for. The pasta was easily the best and most unique pasta dish I've ever had. I hope they keep the scallops on the menu for this weekend because I will be bringing my mom in to try them - the hour and a half drive doesn't phase me. I tried to take pictures but everything was gone before I could. Also, it felt like the staff (front and back) were welcoming us into their home. It was such a relief for such amazing food to be served with such knowledgable but down-to-earth service.

Julie Powers

Food was delicious and unique. Can't wait to go back.

Eric Greene

Go there as soon as possible. I didn't know food could be so delicious.

Oleg Margulis

Just as cool, as it is functional, Heirloom Kitchen is the go-to place in Central Jersey for cooking classes, tableware, and everything in between.

I dining experience like no other in New Jersey. A deceivingly diverse menu that truly has something for everyone. The owners and Chef have cultivated close relationships with local farmers, which is then reflected and celebrated on their menus and plates. A beautiful and comfortable space where the centerpiece is the open kitchen. An opportunity to smell and see the nights fares are available to all. Again, truly a unique dining experience. And a must visit for any burgeoning foodie.

Volha Tryputsen

Love the place!!! Food is excellent, ambience is great and service is awesome! Cant beleive we have NYC level dining experience which is very reasonably priced here in NJ. Keep coming back for more

Mike Yosi

It's okay. Pros: Friendly staff and tasteful ambience. Cons: Small portions, high prices, chef table offered limited chef interaction. 50/50: taste of the food. Certain dishes were well prepared and full of flavor, while others fell flat. Bottomline: Glad I went for the experience but I'm not rushing back. I'd recommend everyone give it a try to make his/her own assessment.

This place was so comfortable and relaxing. I felt at home in this remarkably spotless and well designed haven. Jean Georges can learn an abundance of chef skills from this master chef that makes every dish a conversation for the ages. Bravo to an incredibly well run restaurant. 5 stars is just the beginning.

This is my first publicly written review of any restaurant ever: my wife and I had such a great time here that we felt it'd be a disservice to everyone in Jersey (and especially in Old Bridge) if we kept this experience to ourselves. Everything about this place - from the hostess to the staff and the service - was airtight from top to bottom. Our waitress Cynthia was a sweet and charismatic waitress, arguably the best we ever had. She treated us and all her guests like family, and even rocked a screaming baby to give a mom a break. But as good as she was, the star of the night was Chef David Viana. Every dish we had not only looked like something out of Chefs Table, but delivered in bold, unique flavors every time (Appetizers: Octopus & Pork Belly, Entrees: Lollipop Lamp Chops & The Duck). Get all 4 if you can, but if you can only choose one, do yourself a favor and get this crispy, juicy, glorious duck. It will change your life. We praised his work to Cynthia after our meal, to which turned into a surprise table visit from Chef Viana himself. He was down to earth, has an obvious passion for food, and was happy to take a picture with us. All in all, this was an unforgettable dining experience, so much so that I'm regretting writing this review since it's hard enough to get a reservation here. My wife and I plan to come back... and for years to come.

Colette Dante

Always a wonderful experience! Amazing food, great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, wonderful wine, excellent menu that changes quite often! Reserve the chef's table if you can for an extra cool time. Also, if you ever get the chance to take a cooking class here, jump on it. Chef David does an excellent job, and there are also collaborations with other chefs. I have taken the basics class with chef David and the pie making class with Shanti from Talula's and both were absolutely wonderful. I'm going back in a month to take the ramen class. I have nothing negative to say about Heirloom Kitchen.

Not understanding the hype.... The food was mediocre at best, seasonless, inconstant and cold. But the absolute WORST part was the over 2 hour wait until we received our entrees(nothing is worth that wait) and the slew of excuses we heard from the manager that were BS and how our servers fully ignored and avoided our table.

Peter

I was in last night with my mom for a late mother’s day dinner. We sat at the counter and she can literally not stop talking about how much fun she had. Kathleen and Rob were SOOO kind and indulged all of my moms questions (Kathleen especially!!!) It was the best dinner/Mother’s Day I could of hoped for and it was all because of your wonderful team. The food was fantastic as well but it was being able to learn about it and talk about it that made her day. Neilly and Heirloom have created such a wonderful place and I can’t thank her and the entire team enough for what they all do to make an incredible and unique dining experience!

Gaz Khosravi

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. As a foodie, indulging in food and dining at the finest restaurants in NYC for more than 10 years, my experience at Heirloom Kitchen last night blew me away. The food, presentation, open kitchen chef watching and interacting combined with the love and attention to detail from owner Neilly, makes this a restaurant in its own class. Everything aspect of the evening is thought through. It's purposeful. Heirloom Kitchen strives to provide each customer a perfect evening out. My boyfriend's vegetarian dish (hen of the woods steak) was just as delicious as my grass-fed seared and crusted to perfect NY strip. I can't wait to go back to taste the rest of the menu and feel the local love of @heirloom Kitchen. #heirloom kitchen #ChefDavidViana

Donald Goold

The best experience in NJ. I took a few colleagues out to dinner and Chef David prepared a small tasting menu for us. Everything is incredible from the homemade bread to the perfectly executed proteins on each dish. They truly are polished without the feeling of pretentiousness. I suggest getting in there before they blow up and start booking a month in advance.

Had an amazing meal and experience at the Heirloom Kitchen last night. Sat at the chefs table with a group of friends, so we got to see the whole operation while we ate and chat with Chef David Viana, who was so chill, passionate, knowledgeable, friendly and happy to share his knowledge. Made for an amazing night. His menu is delicious and the service and crew in the restaurant 100% on their game. Would go back in a heartbeat if it wasn't so far away. Highly recommend and if you go it's worth the wait to get the seats right in front of the chef.

Becky Clark

Food and service was phenomenal! Atmosphere is very comfy...Highly recommend to all food lovers...the duck was incredible, and the pork belly just melted in your mouth...Chef David is remarkable, his food creations, and pairings, are awesome...Staff all so pleasant and helpful, great service from Noah P... Can't wait to return!

I used to think that Delicious Orchards was the 'secret of NJ' but it is has now been replaced with 'Heirloom Kitchen' out of Old Bridge NJ!! The dual concept of a curated high end kitchen boutique & recreational cooking school is very exciting and just what the area needs for those households that have left the NYC metro area. This operation is jointly run by an adorable mom/daughter team born and raised in NJ (adorable). I have purchased beautiful serving pieces and unique tabletop decor (my favorite are the cloth cocktail napkins roll and decorative paper placemats) for my kitchen (that you won't find in the mall) and this store has become my go to for gift giving for any occasion (think Swell bottles to kitchen trinkets to Alessi barware) with tasteful gift wrapping on anything I purchase. The classes range from hands on skill classes to demonstration chef dinners/culinary experiences. My friends and I opted into their version of 'Chopped' where the class was split up into two. We were given surprise ingredients and with the help of some talented chefs, we collaborated and created a delicious elevated dinner that we all shared around the farm-table. The best part was we didn't have to clean up after all the fun we had. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention all the interesting events and collaborations Heirloom Kitchen is doing to strengthen the community around us. They've made appearances on the trendy Asbury Park boardwalk events, are running a CSF (community supported fishery) from the store, their annual farm dinner at a local producing farm and are sponsored by the local Whole Foods in Marlboro and Middletown NJ.

Anthony Freda

Outstanding cooking school located in Old Bridge NJ. The group experience and quality of ingredients is fantastic and Neilly and her team are top notch ! They also have a huge selection of kitchen retail products. The space is amazing!!! This is the best place that I have ever been to for a cooking class. I highly recommend Heirloom Kitchen.

I live in Brooklyn, land of foodies and funky little shops, but I grew up in Central Jersey, so I was so excited to check out Heirloom Kitchen one weekend while visiting. My boyfriend and I took a cooking class there (thanks to Chef Rohan Kamicheril of Brooklyn’s Tiffin Club - check them out, too!) and learned how to make dosas. Neilly was accomodating enough to make sure Rohan made traditional dosa batter, which is gluten-free, just for me and my dietary needs. It was so fun! We left with a folder full of information and recipes to make dosas on our own at home. We had such a great time that we also attended Heirloom Kitchen's "farm dinner" the next night, an autumnal fete in an apple orchard, with hundreds of beautiful flowers and lights, perfectly paired wines, flavorful seasonal dishes, and impeccable service. The chef at the dinner also made sure to prepare my food gluten-free. The store is sunny and airy, and the kitchen area is spotless and gorgeous. I bought myself a Swell bottle while I was there, and it's a prized possession. I could spend a long time poring over the kitchenware at Heirloom Kitchen. I definitely want to take more cooking classes there!

Dennis Sarkozy

I found Heirloom Kitchen after researching (and calling, emailing, visiting) a dozen cooking schools in NJ. From my first contact, the experience was completely distinct. The team is thoughtful, warm and truly excited about what they offer. The class, Mother Sauces, was wonderful. Both chefs, Andrew and Dave, explained the concepts in simple terms – comfortable for beginners, and engaging for seasoned home chefs. After spending years in my home kitchen, I was excited to see two chefs at work. The banquet we prepared through class, beautifully plated and served at their country table, was a celebration of our efforts. I’m already looking forward to my next class!

Absolutely the best place I have ever stepped into, David Viana and his team are top notch professionals all around...Enjoy your time and relax as you watch Chef David Viana and his team of the phenomenal Sean & Kat make a unforgettable experience that you will never forget and you will be telling your friends about and coming back to see more... Cooking classes A+++++ Enjoy All the best HK Stay blessed ~Bill

What an incredible resource to have in central New Jersey! Fun and interactive cooking classes, amazing kitchenware and a broad selection of cookbooks. What a beautiful cooking school to have at our fingertips. Also love having it so close to home in NJ.

Creative menu. Unique experience. Great ambiance. Can't wait to come back!

Great dining experience highly recommend

Monique Gordon

Recently dined here and it was like stepping into the restaurant version of an HGTV dream home. The space is modern, yet cozy while remaining engaging with a very unique selection of products for purchase displayed around room. Which is neither here nor there, because the food truly was the highlight of my experience. The plates were as beautiful as they were delicious. I was told that the menu is constantly changing based on what is currently in season, which would normally upset me, but after experiencing the way the chef paired duck with a date purée, I can't wait to taste what he comes up with next. Overall, just an exceptional menu with truly transcendent yet intuitive flavors that leave nothing but satisfied. **Also, loved being able to watch the chefs cook and plate dishes via the giant stainless steel mirror above the burners (meant for teaching, as the restaurant is also a cooking school).

This was one of the best meals I've ever had!

Colin Powers

Food was spectacular. Pork Belly appetizer was out of this world. Service was so so and it wasn't crowded. Needs a better selection of beverages. This place is expensive but it's worth it and I can't wait to go back. This place is BYO, but they also have some wine on the menu that didn't seem too expensive.

Laura Alfano

Heirloom Kitchen was a great night out! The staff was extremely nice and so helpful, explaining everything along the way. Getting to cook and create an amazing meal was an outstanding experience. The food was out of this world, which made the night even better! Definitely going back for more!

I have been a fan of the classes for several years but recently contracted this team of seasoned professionals to cater a meal for our family the night before my daughter's wedding. They could not have done a better job and were simply amazing. In Polk county they are the absolute BEST catering option, so easy to work with, beautiful and delicious food and they cook it fresh on site. They arrived at 4:30pm for appetizers at 6pm and dinner to follow. Taking over the kitchen area and never needing any assistance from us allowing us to enjoy visiting with everyone. Afterwards they cleared plates and even loaded the dishwashers. You couldn't even tell they had been there. I cannot say enough great things about this experience, you will not be disappointed!
