Since the remodeled the place, the quality of the food declined. They fried the potatoes with the same oil, they fried the fish, be careful if you are allergic to fish like me.... Horrible!!

The selection the buffet is typical. There wasn’t a niche that stood out for this place. The sushi were old and fishy. The fruits we’re bland. However the roast pork was fairly delicious. Kudos to the staff for constantly attending to tables.

The ACTUAL best place on the planet. Lunch is about $15 Dinner is about $18 If you want LOBSTER before lunch, Don't eat it or you WILL be charged dinner price. Drink refills are free and the food is always good! Small place in wharton plaza

We go with a group every year for Mother's Day. They did renovate the dining room some so it is nicer inside. The food however was not as good as past years. The peel and eat shrimp was the smallest I have ever seen. Not worth the effort to peel. They even discontinued some favorite items such as the crab legs. I found some of the selections in the trays were cold. The desserts were inedible. They need to do a better job for their customers.

So basically came here three times. Every time was horrible. Went for lunch today all the food was cold and soggy basically not even re heated after they stored it all over night. Crab tastes like you’ll get food poisoning. Crab legs are cold and have a nasty moldy mildew smell to them and are slimy. Absolutely crazy quality here is terrible it was bad before the Reno but now horrible! There’s a good buffet in PA bartonsville or take the trip to flaming grill in riverdale both are better options

Food is okay, except for undercooked chicken wing. Good to fulfill a craving for Chinese but heavily do not recommend the stir fry station as raw meats are set out and, at other places the stir fry stations seem to keep ingredients fresh but the beef here was all Grey and did not look the least bit appetizing. Nasty. Otherwise renovation is nice but would not recommend

Worst place ever. Nothing like their advertising. Waiter didn't even know what iced tea was. He brought me room temperature tea in a hot tea cup. I waited for him to come back and I told him I wanted iced tea. He comes back with room temp tea in a hot tea cup again but this time with a cup of ice on the side. Food was cold and poor variety of food. Horrible experience. They even make you pay before hand.

I used to like this place before they just remodeled and the food was fresh and good quality. Now after remodeling I hate it. The food here is bad quality and half of it seems like they left it out all week. It doesn't taste as good as before and its SOLID as a rock. I almost broke my tooth on the bread today. I thought I was gonna get food poisoning after I ate that food. Last time I was here too they did not have any signs up about peanut oil in the food or anything, which by the way I am DEATHLY allergic to. The Lo mein used to be cooked in peanut oil so I asked one of the workers if there was peanut oil in it, she said "Oh no, no we don't have peanut oil in there." So then I filled my entire plate with it thinking I would be safe, and after I sit down about to eat it she comes running over with a binder saying yes never mind they ACTUALLY DO cook it in peanut oil. Well thanks for telling me after I filled my plate. Then they actually put in the effort to put signs up about the allergy info on the food. By the way, today I was brave enough to try what looked like macaroni and cheese, and I put a bite in my mouth and thought I was going to get sick all over the table. It tasted like melted cream cheese and noodles.

We went the Wharton fortune Chinese buffet couple weeks ago. Place was remodeled, I exaly liked the way it was before, feel like it was more cozy .you pay now before they sit you up and they don't have boothes like they had before. You have to go and take silverware yourself now and what I DIDNOT KNOW -you can get any tea you want yourself too. When waitress asked what I want to drink,and I said:"tea",she just brought cup of tea without asking which one I want or saying,that i have any choices!until another waiter came-SEVI-American,he was so kind and friendly,the way he talks and helps,what a personality he has!he will be a great manenger some day!!!!! And he was helping everybody, he was doing everything :cleaning tables, mopping the floor...he told me that they have many different kind of tea,brought it to me,asked which one i want and and brought 4 different once for me to try!he was around all the time, he even helpd me and my husband with our car key.Thank you Sevi!

Most of the time most of the food is very good. We eat here when in the area, and never had anything that was "bad" though there are some things that I don't like, it is a buffet, so there is plenty of choice. They are always polite, and I have never found the place dirty, though they do need to check the bathrooms more often at times. Really not entirely their fault though, some people that eat there are evidently pigs who never learned to properly use a human bathroom. The price is fair, and the selection is good.

My friends, family, and I love this buffet. It has never disappointed and they just went through a beautiful remodel and is much cleaner. The drinks do not cost any extra and are included, I’m talking about the Fortune Buffet in Wharton I don’t know what other reviewers are talking about, the service is typical for a buffet. The buffet is a little over 10 dollars for lunch and 14/15 for dinner on a weekday. Weekends are a little more pricey, but that’s to be expected. (I updated this review on 9/20/18) Overall, it’s a very good value as you would not get the same quality or amount of food at any other restaurant for such a small price unless you go to the pizza buffets in the Wayne area for less. I love it. Don’t bother reading the reviews that are untrue! I’ve never had an issue at this place before or after the remodel. The new sushi is great, too. It’s probably more expensive for take out because it’s under new management and has better sushi; maybe the old model wasn’t making the owners enough money to provide good food.

The buffet is better than it used to be with their owners. I still feel the quality of food could be better. The crab legs are very small and don't come out often. My son and I like this new upgraded restaurant. Food is very good for a buffet. Prices for the food quality is good. Service good. Only strange situation is that you pay before you eat? This is the only restaurant where I have ever had to do this. Can't understand this reasoning?

Food was not to par expensive for poor quality they font know how to make there sauces mostly just tasted like soy sauce and when asked for a garlic sauce for my hibachi they threw garlic on it and that's all an some how was covered in butter never again was ok with b4 new management or remodel. Either way will not go there again Hanover is ok and one in phillipsburg even would rather go to newton hoho small place nice worth the money only I think 12 for dinner. I can't explain how disappointing the food was I have made it better myself at home otherwise nice place

This used to be my favorite place. I'm upset that the to-go doesn't include the free drink or the sushi anymore. $8.49 a pound! If I put one piece of sushi with my other food, they now have to charge the $8.49 instead of $5.49! There is an upside though. They do have a larger selection of foods, and the new foods they added look more quality. I hope they put back the drink/sushi; if they do, we will be back every week like we used to. Also, creeped out my family how they watch you like hawks and then ask about what you put in the box. :/

Apparently this place was closed for 7 months to undergo renovations. Looks like they did a nice job and have provided a good place to for a solid buffet. The service was good and place seemed to be clean. They offered a note Hibachi station in addition to the regular buffet. This was a nice addition selecting yout raw food and watching the chef prepare your selections in front of you. If you could think it, they had it there. Fresh selections were coming out of the kitchen at a good pace. The pricing met the Value for sure. Also they had real soft ice crean that actually tasted like ice cream, which you normally dont get at a Buffett. I will go back again with a bigger appetite next time. Good Job Fortune Buffett.

I am not a fan of any buffet style restaurant, but after a visit there with relatives who wanted to try it, I think this is one of the better buffets I’ve tried. The price is right, the food quality is decent, and the place is pretty clean. My only real comment on the food is that some options are a bit saltier than they need to be and the desserts area can do with better options. The sushi options are pretty good for a buffet but the soy sauce is very salty and concentrated so take it easy on it. I would pass on the wasabi as it’s obviously neon green and likely very low grade. Really liked the chicken options and sides. It’s also nice that they offer king crab legs on the weekends and a hibachi station.

Usually I really enjoy this place but when I went on July 6 2019 it was not good. The host was extremely rude, the credit card machine was malfunctioning, the hibachi grill was extremely slow and the waiter spent most of his time chatting with one person. Not worth the $30 it cost.
