Food is a bit overpriced; they brought us the chicken quesadilla when we requested vegetarian and asked us to pay for "spicy" salsa which was just half an jalapeno chopped in regular salsa!

Jan 4th 2019: Ordered takeout, specifically tacos with onions, tomatoes no lettuce. Pretty much a normal taco. I received 3 ground beef tacos on par with Taco Bell, which says a lot. Not only did the tacos remove my appetite but they did not have the condiments I requested. The tacos were beef and cheese only. I will never order from here again.

Don Jose is my favorite lunch spot! The décor brightens your day and the food is amazing. Even my very picky child LOVES Don Jose. We've gone for dinner too and on certain nights they have a mariachi band. This restaurant is a must try but keep in mind that at certain times there might be a wait, as the place isn't huge.

Never wrote a review like this for a food place, but literally everything but the FOOD was good. Nice decor, music in background gives you the authentic Mexican feeling. Rice stale, chicken and streak filled tacos with nothing but cheese in it. I could have made that at home myself.

I gave this “restaurant” as they would call this place one star because although the food was quick. As soon as we entered yes the place looks nice but looks isn’t everything. We weren’t greeted immediately, the food arrived fast but the plates were very hot, I was burned and it taste as if it was microwaved and the amount of food was miniscule. I have been to many Mexican restaurants that had bigger portions for the buck. Don’t believe the reviews because I did, and now here am I.

I ordered three hard-shelled tacos. The tacos came out about five minutes after our order and they were completely soggy and mushy. All that was on them was meat and lettuce and a tiny bit of cheese. Honestly they tasted pretty bad almost exactly the same as Taco Bell.

Food here is excellent, great prices, and nice decorations! The only improvements they need is to have more space, don't charge for refills on beverages, and beware of the guitar men, because you will have to end up tipping them if they come to your table to play their guitar.

I LOVE this place! Not only is the service amazing but the food is amazing and the vibe is chill! Literally we come here at least once a week. The food is not salty but fresh and authentic. You can't go wrong with any of their dishes. Truthfully I don't think I ever ordered anything that was bad. The guacamole (a fan favorite) is outta this world delish! Even the kids like it! They also have music on Friday's and Saturday's which is nice to keep the small ones occupied. Totally would recommend to add this to your weekly rotation!

Very authentic Mexican food. There table salsa is perfectly spicy and was super super fresh. I ordered the blackened chicken fajitas and was not disappointed; plus the prices are crazy reasonable. I am deff going back.

We were here last night. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I asked for a 4 entrees and the waiter only brung back 2 entrees. We waited almost an hour just for our food to come. The service, the meal, everything about it was horrible. I also asked for a ceaser salad with no croutons and they bring it back with extra croutons! Horrible service. Worst experience ever.

This is the best Mexican restaurant anywhere nearby. The food is excellent. The family behind the business couldn’t be nicer. We’ve been coming here for probably coming up on two decades and have no intention of stopping any time soon. I can’t recommend Don José more.

even after reservation we have to wait more than 20 minutes for them to set it up. The waiter was initially friendly. We had lots of orders and she missed one of our guest order and he have to wait for long time without eating while others have food. Instead of saying "Sorry" she shows attitude which spoil our special occasion. food was kinda ok but not upto the mark. Never recommend this restaurant again. if their staff can't handle larger parties they should have put two waiters.

i ordered Steak Fijita. Only 2 strips were thick, so they taste good. Other strips were thin, over cooked and taste like cardboard. The place was packed but the order came out at a reasonable time. Our group ordered 2 Daiquiri pitchers. We had to asked for water 2 times.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. I went at a time where it wasn't too busy but i imagine it can get crowded just looking at the size of the waiting room. From what i recall, they don't take reservations and won't seat you until everyone in your party is there. Hope you enjoy like we did!

This food is clearly mass-produced...previously frozen and then microwaved. There was no flavor to what should be well seasoned cuisine. The laminated menus were slimy and unclean. The service was mediocre.

I feel like I'm getting the real deal at this place with everyone working there being Mexican. However, you can tell so easily most of it is microwaved. #1 I don't want microwaved food, #2 and this is the kicker and really pisses me off "STOP filling the glasses with so much ice and charging for each soda"! You give free unlimited chips but charge for each soda. I'd rather get the free refills and get no chips. I would have given 5 stars for free refills and not known the foods microwaved.

Yummy and authentic Mexican cuisine in a brightly decorated dining space. Prices are in line with other restaurants in the area. Service is generally fast and friendly with no frills. This place always seems to be busy so be prepared to wait if you come at a peak time. Minus 1 star for advertising a 10% discount on Verizon rewards and then not honoring it.

Visited for the first time today. I’m a huge lover/great critic when it comes to Mexican food, so therefore I know what’s really good. The hard shell chicken tacos were phenomenal! The rice and refried beans were pretty good as well. The only reason why I didn’t give this restaurant 5 stars was because my portion of rice and beans was for a baby. My 2 yr old could eat all of it and still be hungry. Was a huge bummer. I should have taken a picture! I even mentioned it to a young man working there and he just gave me look. I ended up having to order an extra side of rice and refried beans. For $12, I would like a decent portion. I definitely will be returning though - hopefully the portion will be better!

Not as good as we remember.... This used to be our go to place.. We stopped going as some excellent Mexican resturants opened near our residence.. This past weekend we were shopping on rt 10 and decided to stop by our old favorite place.... ;( The resturant was very busy as always but the quality wasnt what we remember. It seemed we had 4 different waiters. The name Pedro on receipt but he didnt serve us.. A gentleman maybe pedro served some chips spilled them and picked them up off table put in basket and walked away. The next time we saw him he was taking the tip!!! The ladies a few different ones did all the work.. I hope tips are shared. It rubbed me the wrong way. The food... Beef was not as good maybe a vendor change... overall food just seems blah.. I hate writing this but..please look into quality. The ladies working were outstanding working non stop.. Hopefully they are all shared tips please respond and say yes... if not....not good.

Haven't been to Don Jose's in a few years. It is still as wonderful as ever. Food is so tasty, fresh and hot. Service is great. Atmosphere is fun, everybody joins in when a birthday is celebrated. Have to add this back in to rotating nights out list.

This is a very popular BYOB Mexican restaurant. Expect it to get busy and loud at peak times. Food is typical Mexican food, your best bet is fajitas. Nothing stands out too crazy but it's tasty and will fill your belly.

Definitely not authentic! Salsa is very heavy on onions. Red sauce tastes like pasta sauce. Burritos had near zero filling and wrapped very small. Veggies used are frozen not fresh. Lastly save your money as this is the most expensive probably due to BYOB.

I normally don't write a review about a place that I had a bad experience in, however i wanted to warn people of not making the same mistake. If 0 stars was available I would have put that but I guess they get 1 star because the Mexican coke was tasty. The decor is is fine. A bit dated and overly done but I'm ok with that. However the waitress that took our order was not in the mood to be there....maybe she had the food prior to us getting there. The food...horrible. To say that it was like Taco Bell quality would be an insult to Taco Bell (should have gone there instead). My first warning should have been when I asked the waitress if all the meats are the same cut or do they have skirt steak. She looked at me like a I had two heads and said " we open the meat ". I ordered a shrimp dish. My wife order the steak chimichanga. Filled with fatty steak and the beans and rice were reheated. My shrimp was tasteless and it was a dish that felt like it was just stuff thrown together. Horrible experience. Don't waste your money.
