Well, {we were not disappointed|it was a winning|it was very nice. the staff members were so friendly and we had a great feeling. The food was just great. Just was driving down Main Street and this place had the the most people outside. We went in side and the decor is appropriate for the name. We had salmon stuffed with crab and a soup. My girl who never eats it all left the plate sparkling clean the dishwasher didn’t even have to touch it lol . 5 stars from this guy and was not overly expensive. We had dessert cause it looked amazing and spent about 70 bucks. And we ordered the most expensive thing on the menu.

I am visiting New Jersey from the South and this is the first place I decided to eat. Now, I'm not an Omelette guy but I decided to take the chance and get the Salmon Omelette and I can't believe how light and airy it was. The edge was crispy and the inside was packed full of flavor swirling from the cheese, salmon and spinach. Definitely a meal I will never forget

Terrible would be the best description for this establishment. The server did not seem to be interested in being there. Food seemed average diner kind, microwaved and priced like fine restaurants. To add insult to the injury, the restaurants wants to add 18% gratuity to a party of 2.

Lovely place for breakfast. They were expecting a large party at 11am and accommodated us when we got there at 1020am. Love the ambiance and the service was great. Would definitely recommend and return again. The lattes were delicious!

It's pretty good for what it is. I enjoyed myself, I still need to come back a few more times to really give a full throttle review. I had the smoked salmon with spinach and goat cheese omelette. That's my favorite thing to have. The crepes are super light weight and very thin just how it's suppose to be and a nice small scoop of ice cream..I really liked that they didn't over power the crepe with toppings and ice cream. Will be back again =) Thank You.

This is a cozy restaurant with an outstanding chef! That said, the staff was horrible! They were not busy, yet it took 15 minutes for someone to give us a menu. She didn't come back to take our order, but about 15 minutes later, someone else asked if we had ordered. We waited quite awhile and our food that was sitting in the window, finally came out, my soup with my order, which was cold , and my husband had to ask for his soup that they forgot. Worst service I have had in a long time.

Best chicken noodle soup ever! Quiche was okay but I think when it got microwaved it got overcooked. The almond cake however made up for it in spades. To die for!! Great staff - very friendly. A touch on the slow side... overall a very nice place.

We've been here a few times. The food is good, otherwise it would be 1 star. The service is mediocre. This last time we went, we sent the French onion soup back because it wasn't good. They charged us for it anyway. After we spoke with the manager, she said "there's nothing wrong with the soup because it's been the same recipe for 15 Years. It's our policy to charge you even if you don't like it." She was very rude and condescending. She argued wth us for a good 15 minutes. We try and make it a point to support local small business, but this is one business I will never be visiting again.

Place was hot trash! The only good thing was the crepe which took FOREVER to MAKE. Place was overall super sketchy and sus. All the cutlery was marred with stains! This place was not a good choice to eat at.

My Paris retreat in Metuchen!!! For delicious sweet & savory Parisian food, Cafe Paris has all the favorites. Just check the pic and you'll see. We have been coming to this restaurant since 2002 and I believe this whole in a wall is certainly one of the reasons why Metuchen's culinary scene is popping. My favorite is the croque madame with salad. The crepes either savory or sweet are all worth it. The ambiance is cozy and inviting with French decor everywhere. Hope you enjoy this restaurant like me.

Nicely decorated, cozy, clean, intimate interior. Friendly service and a tasty menu of French fare. The hot chocolate is a standout, however my latte was not the best I've had. Overall a very pleasant experience.

When I tell you that the cheese plate is phenomenal I'm not even exaggerating. And it came with this bread that was perfectly crispy and soft. I'll definitely be going back. The food was so good ! Very considerate of us, we brought our son and they were so attentive.

Its too bad because I really wanted to like this place as it is so close to where we live but the service is not good at all! The food is ok, the quiche is never good (Don't order the quiche). I've given it a few tries to see if maybe they just had it wrong one time but its always too dry and seems like they just microwaved it so it comes out too dry! I went today with my mom friends and the service we had today was terrible. The lady didn't smile at all. She seemed annoyed because we had our strollers. She gave us our bill with our total amount crossed out and hand written an amount which included a mandatory gratuity WITHOUT informing us about the automatic addition. We would have paid another 20% on top of the total amount we received if we did not ask her. When they hand write the total bill without telling you it already includes 18% gratuity so you can add more tip on top of the total bill you've been given is CHEATING your customers! Plus they give you the bill with a mandatory 18% for bills over $50 but the service is definitely NOT worth it. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Would not go back.

Absolutely adorable hidden gem in downtown Metuchen. If you want a slice of Paris head here. Had a nutella capuccino, and french toast for breakfast. Food was great. Will go back soon!

The waitress threw the menus at us while looking away in rush, No greetings no hello at all. Then came the food which was literally got smashed in the middle of the table in separate chunks. Here is the mocha and caramel iced coffee......... mumbled the waitress while loudly smashing them in the middle of the table.. ummm which one is which?? we had to taste to figure that out. Cappuccino and a Croissant were ordered but one came 20 minutes before the other. 'Home made' ice cream tasted like Friendly's store bought ice cream. French decor was everything BUT eclectic, most like Paris VOMITED all over the place. NEVER - NEVER AGAIN ... Feel like suing them for ruining our night with their rudeness.

This place is a little hidden gem. Ambinence is unique. Might be bit conjusted but they have plenty seating(outside during summer). Delicious food, tried their crepes many times and loved them. But tried their omelette for the first time and it was very tasty, even with just spinach and peppers. Highly recommend their almond joy latte. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Highly highly recommend this place.

Very good food, I had the Turkey and Brie sandwich with a side of French fries and it was delicious. The portion size was generous and the outdoor seating was relaxing. As far as I can tell the place seems to be pretty authentically French, although there are some items on the menu that are tailored to appeal to a wider audience, which is a plus for me. My dessert, the chocolate mousse, was some of the best I've had. Overall I recommend this place highly if you're in the area.

Pleasant service at this neighborhood French Cafe with comfortable seating indoors and the option of outdoor seating as well. The menu is fairly extensive. The crepes were disappointing however with a rubbery consistency and the filling tasted canned.

Adorable, quaint cafe with French flair. The space is very nicely appointed and decorated. We went for lunch. My wife had the crabcakes salad and I had the smoked turkey and brie sandwich. We shared a delicious peice of carrot cake for dessert. The food was absolutely delicious and service was quick. Definitely would repeat, and would live to try for brunch or dinner.

Love this place. Delicious every time. My husband loves the quiche and the crepes. The French toast and waffles are also amazing. The desserts are scrumptious and so pretty. I love the decor. there's a lovely French mural and some relaxing music while you're there. If I were around more often, they would be my go - to cafe for both food and coffee or tea. The service is always very quick and attentive.

Based on other reviews it seems like depending on the wait staff this is a good place to go. I attended with a group of 6 total for my sister's 18th birthday on a Friday night. The waitress and waiter who were working provided the worst service I've ever had. The waiter moved so slowly and was completely unfriendly and the waitress was also incredibly slow but friendly in a way that frankly bordered on obnoxious. Very much in a I'm talking at you way and not talking with you. She could come over unprompted to talk to us about her kids and dying her hair and her thoughts on Ariana Grande while we were waiting on lemonade and lattes and getting water refilled. Our friend's veggie burger came out wrong and rather than correct it the waitress insisted she wrote it down correctly and it was the kitchen's fault. She did nothing to fix the problem (our friend ended up not eating the burger at all because it was pretty bad). Myself and my sister ordered sandwiches that were supposed to be pressed on the grill and came out completely cold. Between the constant interruptions from the waitress but overall terrible surface and only okay food and having a mandatory 20% gratuity added to the bill this is not a place I plan on returning anytime soon. Teach the wait staff a sense of urgency and efficiency and get the waitress to back off and let people enjoy their meal.

Although they had a private party going on inside, they had lovely tables set up out side so we enjoyed a nice lunch of Lamb whole-wheat crape small salad iced coffee, husband had turkey and bre crousant. I ordered the broccoli quiche and it was way over cooked. Toward the edge of the crust was slightly burnt and hard. The the center of the quiche was soft and tasty. Chips come with it but it was less than two palms full on my plate. I was in a hurry to leave and asked for my check. Instead, he gives the customer who ask for their check first after my request for the bill. Even made sure to process that customers check out first despite the fact I was first to request my table bill. Wished to had taken a picture of it before eating to post on my review. It definitely isn't worth $9.99.

Over priced, very uncomfortable seating, menu said an item came with ice cream included and the waiter denied that it did and charged us extra for the ice cream, and it wasn’t even good. On top of that I saw a barista take a sip out a a drink behind the bar and then serve it to a customer. Absolutely disgusting. Avoid at all costs please.

Metuchen restaurants were very crowded Saturday night, Cafe Paris was not. It was the only one we could get a table. Ordered appetizer the cheese board. It was a joke. It had what I think was deli swiss cheese broke in half , some Brie cheese chunks, and bread . I had a spinach salad, there wasn't much on the menu. My SO had a beef dish, he said it was good, but was up that night with heartburn.The crepe was good. But they only had sweet ones no savory ones on the menu. I had been in Paris in January, I think the chef needs to go.

Coffee is superb, and the food is quite good as well, but not exceptional. Staff was friendly but forgetful and service was extremely sluggish! Worth stopping by, but don't do so if you're on a time constraint...or maybe we just had bad luck because we sat outside.

Wrong meals served to our table first, service was slow (water, meal, Bill, taking order) and missed our utensils until we asked for. The restaurant automatically added one dollar tip to the final bill to make tip rate 18% itself, I knew it when I checked my bank statement. How dishonest! It’s just one dollar, I’m not gonna ask for refund but your dishonesty disgusts me.
