REVIEWS OF Butter Midtown IN New Jersey

Lydia Muna-Mangan

Went during lunch for restaurant week and thoroughly enjoyed each course. Service was attentive and the ambiance was great. Would certainly go back.

Taylor Aguirre

This place did not live up to the expectations. It was overpriced for what we got, not that the food was bad but I wouldn’t go back. The menu was very small too, not impressed.

Alex Biandis

Possibly the best restaurant I've been to. Nothing short of amazing

Alexander Kozovski

Came as a large group. The experience felt disorganized and a bit hurried. Food was decent but there are better places around.

Brian Carbone

It was an excellent meal. The food and service were everything I expected.

Li M

Everything we ordered was delicious! The service was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy and pleasant.

Ibrahim i

The food was great and service was fast

Tom Strachan

Great spot for and event and really good food

Christopher DeJesus

Horrible service , I had a reservation and when we arrived the hostess asked me for my name and said it would be a couple mins then a couple minutes pasted by and she forgets the name and asks me again then we get a girl that brings us to the table and we order and appetizer and two drinks and the waiter messed up a vodka soda...like how do you mess that up then never put our appetizer in and said the reason why he was waiting for us to tell him what we wanted to eat first...What!? Then we asked for a lemon for the water and he never brought it and we had to go to the bar for it. NEVER AGAIN first and last time going here .

Caroline Collins

We were so excited to eat here on a trip to the city. I follow Alex and the restaurant on Instagram and the food just always looks so amazing. The rolls before dinner are so warm, buttery and incredible. And the gnocchi Mac and cheese starter could have easily replaced my entree - but the French onion style short ribs were so perfect for the chill of January. However, the icing on the proverbial cake was an amazing chili-infused tequila cocktail! Would recommend to anyone looking for a delicious, upscale but not stuffy dining experience in Midtown.

Young Kang

The food and service are fine, but maybe it's underground and it makes me feel noisy

Valerie Heinz

Always amazing! Great food and service. The octopus was delicious!!

julie parmley

Great service, food was fantastic. We shared the Brussel sprouts salad and short ribs. Finished the meal off with a shareable dessert - raspberry filled beignets. Every dish was amazing.

Alison B

Excellent, from the hostess to the ambiance, beverages, food and service. A perfect dining experience.

NELSON Caban

Food, drinks and service was outstanding however the portions were small for the price

Jeremiah VazquezB

We had a delicious meal at Butter. Food and drinks were simple but delicious. It is a bit pricey, but I felt that the service and food were worth it. There is a weird non-functioning "bar" at the entrance where we sat to wait for our reservation. The true bar is around the corner, and cannot be seen from the lobby. We will definitely return for another meal.

Ernst Goldman

I had duck legs and it was amazing. delicate and crispy. Ambiance was very nice. Private room on 10 floor has very nice terrace. But it can get a bit noisy.

Rober Cator

It looks like a good place for dinner but we have only had breakfast here and that was very nice. I was told it had good vibes and excellent food in the evening

Annette T

the food was great, staff was very friendly, I am sorry I missed Alex

Mark Zacharia

I expected more from a celebrity chef's restaurant. Excellent pork rib appetizer but octopus was unremarkable served over a tasteless black squid ink pasta. Duck was rubbery and over-sauced. Excellent Millionaire's Shortbread dessert. Ambiance was too loud for four adults to have a civil conversation with one another.

Sarah Calabrese

DELICIOUS

Shabbir Danish

Service was good, the meal wasn't

Bryant Pantano

Please tell your customers the price of the specials. The regular menu priced fine but $32 for a tuna tar tar is a bit much. And I have had great prawns before but $65 for 3 ,with little fish was too much.

Joseph Grill

A boring average meal at a high price. The decor is lovely but when I visited the service at the bar and then at the table was slow. The food was about average and there was nothing special about it. I got the strip steak and it was what you would expect. My date got the short ribs which I tried. I found them to be over seasoned and fatty, even for short ribs. We selected the snow peas with basil butter as a side and they were so bland and unexciting. We did enjoy the brussel sprout salad.

Samantha Mackowitz

AMAZING. This place lives up to its name. Saw a celebrity while I was here too!

Brett Thorson

The food here was delicious, but the breeze in the bar area was frigid cold, and I'm usually a warm guy. The food though... Wow. Some inconsistency at the bar when they get busy though.

Laurie Johnson

I was so excited to visit Butter and I was not disappointed. My sister and I have been a fan of Alex Guarnaschelli for years, so this was a treat for us. From the moment we walked it, it felt so cozy and welcoming. Altin, our server was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable and attentive. The food was amazing...probably the best meal I have ever had. The pan roasted chicken breast was mouthwatering and the dessert was delicious. I would not hesitate to revisit Butter on my next visit to NYC. In fact, we have lunch reservations before we leave. Make sure you visit Butter.

Vaughan Fox

Sad to say, that I have to rate this restaurant three stars. The food was delicious but the service was disorganized. Went for lunch which took almost two hours from start to finish. We did the prefixe, which was a good value. But service was so slow, taking more than 15 minutes for each course to come....our first course was soup. We were never asked how are meal was or given an explanation as to way it was taking so long. My expectations were so high and this restaurant left a lot to be desired.

Robin Murphy

We came here for brunch and after checking out the reviews I thought it would be a lot better but the meal was a big disappointment. The brunch was a buffet like I’d expect in a Holiday Inn which would be fine except that they charge Four Seasons prices. The best dish was the Mac and Cheese gnocchi which they ran out of. The Bloody Mary was watery and therefore tasteless. The service was barely there. Oh well.

Luswin Cote

Great place Excellent atmosphere Bit too cold inside Restaurant week menu was great

Alexandra Sopelak

The short - Go with friends and be willing to share your plate, there are so many delicious options you won't want to limit yourself to one entree. the long - We asked to have our dinners served family style so that our group could share each plate. The kitchen and wait staff more than met our request. providing side plates for each of us and placing all the dishes in the middle of the table with serving utensils. They also served the food in stages allowing us time to really sample the food and not overwhelm us. To top it all off, the food was delicious! The gnocchi macaroni and cheese, tomahawk steak (serves well over two people) and rib-eye were highlights of the evening.

John Bartz

Butter was a delight. The food was out of this world. The 4 of us each had a separate dish. Every one was just amazing. The service was great and attentive. My only complaint was the temperature of the restaurant. All of us were very warm. It was a warm and muggy day, but it seemed excessively hot compared to every other building we were in this night. It wouldn't prevent me from returning. I would be interested to try the other items on the menu.

Daniel Kantor

Nothing was particularly bad about our meal, but nothing really impressed me either. The service was excellent, but I've had far better versions of every dish we had and for at least a third less the cost. For me the value just isn't there. I honestly walked away feeling kinda ripped off. They can definitely do better.

Josh Kahanovitch

Small menu means attention to detail regarding options available. Pricey for some of the options, but value with what you get. Had the cavatappi pasta, which was excellent.

Raylan Damion

The atmosphere was delightful and the food was fabulous that absolutely will go back again in the future. The service is great staff is attentive. I really had a wonderful experience.

Bob Armstrong

Great atmosphere. Food came out quickly and accurately, but was cool to warm. Definitely not hot.

Aiman I. Ibrahim

OK restaurant but not special enough to justify the prices. It is no where near as good as their old location downtown when chef Alex actually was in the kitchen, but still has the same overall butter feel. If your in midtown and want a drink or a meal, it would not be my first second or third choice. It's saving grace is the ambiance, it's beautiful, I can't attest to the service as it's just fine, nothing special.

Dan Swartz

Great midtown dining options very convenient for getting a Broadway's show, ending a day of museums etc. The cocktails were amazing. Great options between appetizers, small plates, and sides all being shareable and a diverse selection of entrees. All around great!

Michael Mastejulia

I made a reservation for one at 7:00 on a Wednesday. OpenTable said there were times every 15 minutes from 5:00 on. I showed up 30 minutes early and, after stating that I would like to sit at a table, was told twice that I could sit at the bar and be served dinner. After reiterating that I wanted to sit at a table, I was told that I would be seated nearer to the reservation time. -1/2 star 7:15: there are empty tables and I am still not seated. Thousands of restaurants. I chose this one, they screwed up.

Zach Mlostek

Mac and cheese gnocchi may have been the best thing I ever ate. Staff was super friendly and attentive

David

Ok, certainly now celebrity chef status. Grilled octopus appetizer was rubbery. They were gracious enough to not charge for it.

Brigitte Laforest

Beautiful restaurant and the service was amazing. The food was spectacular. Everything I had was delicious I had the burrata appetizer, the branzino as the main dish and the raspberry beignets as dessert.

Soojin Kim

Not sure why this place is popular.. food is ok but pricey for what you get. Staff and manager were not attentive. There are better place out there in NYC.

KATSUMI YOSHIDA

Very nice international cuisine. Not only meat, but also fish plate is satisfying us.

Zara P

Delicious food , charming staff and great cocktails in a relaxed atmosphere.

Vincent Agnihotri

Good Food and service but pricey

Lance Liberti

I had high expectations walking into the restaurant of a famed Iron Chef, and I was not let down! Although every aspect of this culinary experience was enjoyable, my personal high point was the tobacco smoked double cut pork chop, this bone in beauty was crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside, and tasted more like smoked bacon than a traditional porkchop. The sauced peaches remained firm and added a lightness to the rich meal. To finish, the dairy free, gluten free, oak crunch sundae was amazing due to the level of complexity and flavor it pulled off without containing any allergens. The waitress was knowledgeable, fun and engaging, told stories of the menu, staff, and experience, and her recommendations were spot on! All in all an unbelievable experience worth every penny spent!

Cathy Smith

We had high expectations but the food was eh. Service was friendly but some things were slow and the place was dead on a Saturday night, not the best sign. My dad and husband had the ribeye special with truffles, there were way to many truffles and the entire dish was swimming in oil with a few smashed potatoes underneath. My fish was ok and served over cream corn that was flavorful but a little under cooked. Best thing was the gnocchi Mac and cheese, that was divine! We just expected a little more especially for spending $500 for a party of four

Frank Mattina

Great food. Great atmosphere. A bit on the pricey side but it's worth it

David Wyler

Bland and pretty lousy food. Pasta was edible. The rest of the food was lousy. Sent back a vegetable that was so terrible. Hard to screw up a vegetable. The space is nice. It’s a shame to waste it with bad food, and the prices are not good. Don’t waste your money.

Aaron Glawson

Had the brunch. Varied and delicious options.

Reu Kay

Cocktails are decently priced, but deceptively fruity/Sweet so keep track. Nice decor mix of wood, and ambiance. The gnocchi was fantastic! Also my group split a good deal on a steak and bottle exclusive wine. So be sure to ask about their specials. Vibe was modern American with lots of wood textures/colors. And service as a whole was on cue.

Stephen Settanni

I used to work across the street from this place and would try to go over as often as I could. This place is best for dinner, as the space doesn't really accommodate for much of a happy hour. Here are my remarks: Service - great. I don't have any memorable service moments, but overall it's good. Food - phenomenal. I specifically recommend the veal bacon for apps, and of course, the butter! Drinks - Great. I've tried a couple and they all have a special "Butter" touch. If you like spicy, go for the ghost margarita.

Jessica Rodriguez

Amazing!! The owner is a world renowned chef with a fantastic menu! The food here is worth trying! A beautiful experience!

Joe Goble

This place is gorgeous. Food was excellent. Butter burgers rock...

Iakovos Hatzidimitriou

Great service, but not crazy about almost anything we ordered

dino capriano

Great cocktails, small plates, and appetizers.

Yasmine Samman

Nothing to rave about at this place. 1. The hostess wasn’t very friendly. I was told the earliest we could be seated was 8:45 I had to push my reservation from 8 to 8:30 was told the earliest would be 8:45 we get there and the place is half empty like it was almost dead .. plenty of open tables 2. The hot salted buns served complimentary at the table were very good, very fluffy and warm, the butter on the other hand could have been a little softer it was super hard and cold 3. The food was mediocre, the portions were small and the prices completely overpriced. The branzino I ordered was so small and thin there was barely any fish to actually enjoy 4. The dessert wasn’t great either .. beignets were alright and the shortbread chocolate dessert was something you’d find at a diner with rainbow sprinkles on top, super tacky 5. the one very positive thing is that our Waitress was very nice and very good I have to say 6. Decor was nothing to rave about, nothing out of the ordinary

graphyxguy503

Amazing!! Totally lives you to the hype! Great service, superb food! Butternut squash bisque was to die for!!

Andrea Ruth

Loved the atmosphere and decor. The plates are great. We started with gnocchi mac n cheese, so tender with perfectly rich sauce. I played it safe with the tomahawk steak special, can't really go wrong with a rib-eye, a little over seasoned for my taste, but the dish was good. The star of the night was the tobacco smoked pork chop, absolutely delish. Desert was good, beautifully presented, dark chocolate with peanut butter, but the peanut butter didn't pop, it was overwhelmed by the chocolate. But rich and creamy, and solid for desert.

angela verini

Just when you thought you had tasted a wonderful dish, another even more wonderful item was served. From the cocktails, to the gnocchi, to the burrata, to the branzino,to the shortribs and then the beignets, the toffee pudding and even the cappuccino! I am not sure how every rating is not a 5. The quality of the food was definitely top-notch and we eat out at enough restaurants to be able to discern good from superb. Well done Alex. We will be back and we will spread the word too!!

Gabriela Wersley

Not impressed! Had high hopes and was truly disappointed! Must have been an off night after reading all the positive reviews!

Henry Scoles

High quality food which was very well prepared in a really nice restaurant space! Took the family and we received good service, but that service was severely lacking warmth and charm. For example, upon leaving nobody even bothered to say goodbye or thank you. Overall disappointing because I expect so much more from a place under the charge of Alex and competing in NYC! I may return due to the quality of the food, but would not chance it to entertain clients here.

StevenLiguori

Salmon was perfect. Esparagas was tender and moist.

Joseph Brito

Pricey but good food, breakfast service was bad.

Claire

Food was fine. Waiter assigned to our table put most of his attention towards the tables around us, not ours, sat with empty cocktail glasses for over an hour because of it. The restaurant also charges you for water, not a huge deal, but kind of stupid, water is a very basic thing and shouldn’t cost anything.

russell hise

This is our 3rd visit to butter. The food is always amazing.

Richard Barrow

It was awesome! The steak was perfect! The veggies and desserts were outstanding!

Jonee Pabiania

It's an upscale place to spend a meal with VIPs no matter what the size of the group is. The food does not disappoint with lots of options to choose from.

Edward Maddalena

When people talk about their last meal in earth, it is usually with the expectation that they know they will not be long for the world. However, with all the namesake butter served alongside every course, Butter may end up being some people's final plate because of coronary failure. That's not meant to be a dig at Butter, but rather a compliment as to how they manage to take a simple table staple and transform it into the star of the show! Walking into Butter, and descending into the cavernous dining room, with glass ceilings above, one can feel like a fish (one that would presumably be served with a pat of butter no matter how it was cooked). While many restaurants' bread and butter may be a specialty entree or dessert, at Butter, it is, quite literally their bread and butter! Thick soft rolls served piping hot, come to the table with soft pats of compound butter, blended with herbs taking center billing. If biting into a piece of bread and butter can be refined to an art, this is the Mona Lisa of carbs and fat. Not to be outdone, the steak comes with two medallions of compound butter. Much like a child putting together ice cream and pizza, spreading the butter on the tender steak feels like a sin, yet tastes divine, as the symphony of fats and oils perform an interpretive dance across your taste buds. Perfect for an executive business lunch, a pre theater meal or just grabbing a bite with friends, Butter is a fantastic restaurant - just make sure to have a run afterwards.

Juanita Artis-Woodman

I had a wonderful experience. The staff was very attentive. The atmosphere was delightful and the food was fabulous. I will definitely go to Butter again. Thanks Pauline!!!

Nickawanna Shaw

The meal, as many have stated is great. The service was also good after the ill dressed hostess’s ambivalence (a grunt of hello and the wrong menu) was replaced by the table staff who went above and beyond. My greeting to the establishment was so lackluster, I held out little hope for the food. But the food and cocktails were delicious. I’d give 5 stars, but I think a great restaurant should also have folks who are good with the numbers. My card was billed $40 more than authorized. I left a 20% tip so I felt the error was either ham-handedness or avarice. I could understand sticking it to the man if I gave a crappy tip, but this is egregious. I’m hopeful this can be resolved as it should be. I was planning another trip tonight, but this puts me off trusting the back end staff to get a decent meal up front.

Donna Hutchison

Warm ambiance, easy to make online reservations, and they very kindly allowed us to store our suitcases in their coat room during dinner. Most of all, the food was phenomenal, rich but not too heavy, flavorful. I really enjoyed the chive butter with the cornbread, the gnocchi mac and cheese, and the white cloud cauliflower entree. Dessert was phenomenal..it was the ganache, caramel, and shortbread one (Millionaire Shortbread).

Brayden Mora

This was a real treat! We were told by a good friend that we needed to visit this restaurant on our upcoming trip. Easy to get to from all over Manhattan. Warmly greeted when we arrive early for our reservation and provided a lovely booth with a great view of the entire restaurant. Lovely decor and an awesome two story photograph/wall hanging in the bar area. Javier was our server and he was excellent - answers all of our questions, was very attentive without being intrusive, checked on us periodically and was a great accompaniment to the evening. We started off with two glasses of Malbec, excellent vintage and great pours. We had the octopus appetizer and the Gnocchi Mac and cheese, phenomenal.

Karen Moss

I had a wonderful dining experience at butter that was surely made possible due to the great leadership of manager Tony Ramirez. With great interest and concern he communicated all of my nickel allergy syndrome issues to the chef and was able to deliver on a meal that was completely delicious and have no after effects that have become synonymous with eating out and having a nickel syndrome. He took the interest in my issues and invested time of several trips from the kitchen back to my table to be 100% sure everything would be great for me. That's really putting the love and want you to which makes Butter a reliable restaurant on all levels. Much gratitude. Karen Moss

Phillip Ferland

Our second time to butter and it is the most flavorful food we have ever had. Alex has the best experience of all flavors.

Paul C

Great food bring a lot of money

Abena Johnson

The food was really good but the portions were small. I was expecting it to be a little more fancier than it is. No need to dress up. It's a casual place, that serves comfort food in small portions. The service was decent.

Shashank Dixit

Amazing place in New York midtown to catch up with friends or get together with co-workers. If you are a vegetarian don't miss their cauliflower white milk entrees. They also have 3 course dinner options for non vegeterian which is worth to have it for the price you pay

Will Kivinski

Overall, I liked the mains more than the sides. The steak tartare to start was beautiful. My pork chop was awesome as a main. The smokiness adds a layer of depth that makes it comforting. The side of herb potatoes was mushy and pretty bland. The desserts were great too. Loved the sticky toffee pudding and beignets (although they were more like jelly donuts.) My espresso to finish off came a bit luke warm so the brown sugar didn't melt. Service was overall attentive, friendly and laid back. I'd say that this is probably on the pricier side for what you're getting, but I get that it's in midtown. The bread was also outstanding! Solid spot for the area.

Brian P

Meal was very good

Linda Swan

I went there for my sixty second birthday and I was very disappointed I had the fish with a bed of green peas under it and my whole party was disappointed. The staff and services was great

Sunshine Rosette

Go here. It's worth it. If you do that butter burger ask for a second patty. One isn't enough. That's my only complaint. Everything I ate I enjoyed.

Saad Sheikh

Great food and atmosphere

Samone Lett

Loved Butter, the customer service was superb. I ordered the NY strip steak medium rare this is the first restaurant I have been to where they ask you to check to make sure your steak is cooked to your liking, mine wasnt they took it back without hesitation. It was like "butter"! I loved the watermelon salad and the goat cheese grits oh my! Whenever I am back in NY this will be a place to revisit!

Jacques Cline

Staff was soooo attentive. I felt like I had my own personal assistant. The roasted chicken was the best chicken of my life. I never thought I would want to repeat a restaurant in New York because there are so many of them - but if I visit Butter again I will without a doubt go back to enjoy!

A T

We ordered the Brussels sprouts salad, the gnocchi Mac n cheese, and the pasta with lamb. All were great, and the drinks were well made and strong. My only complaint is that the charcuterie board was teeny and we were hoping for something we could share.

alex pertsov

Great location and service. Some of the dishes were delicious. Presentation and plating were very good.

Penelope Pelton

In general I like this place, although I found the burger to be downright terrible. It was super overdone, small and dry, with a sauce that was in theory 'cheese fondue' but which my coworkers all took for plain mayonnaise, which it really resembled. It was a weird misstep for a place that is otherwise pretty solid. I like the space a lot, staff is very friendly, and our appetizers and desserts were great.

Allen Hillery

The beignets were awesome! My go to dessert at Butter!

Can Inci

Yes, the interior is really cool, yes there are interesting customers. But the best part is the food, no question. I had the burrata salad, cavatappi lamb pasta, and a side of potatoes. Each item was truly delicious. If you have good taste for food, this is a must visit restaurant.

Nico Amatullo

Absolutely exceptional food and service, with a lovely ambiance as well. A family member in my group has many allergies and the restaurant was extremely accommodating to their needs. The cocktails at the bar are definitely worth the try too, and we loved the burgers.

Steve Tiernan

We had a delicious meal at Butter. Food and drinks were simple but delicious. It is a bit pricey, but I felt that the service and food were worth it. There is a weird non-functioning "bar" at the entrance where we sat to wait for our reservation. The true bar is around the corner, and cannot be seen from the lobby. We will definitely return for another meal.

bori0916adam

Only visited bar. Very sophisticated

Ura Bae

Descent food, definitely lots of butter as the name of the restaurant. Disappointed on service : appetizers came out before wine, no explanation on any of their food item. Server is not attentive enough to catch little things. I.e. I had to serve my own wine.

Tim O.

Fantastic place. Definitely on the higher end of things, but as a splurge or work mean it’s worth it. Also makes a good date location if you want a cozy atmosphere without being cramped. Also, watermelon ice cubes? Where have you been all my life. Oddly enough, they don’t have much with butter despite the name (we know because someone in our party kept asking).

Xavier Tirado

Very good bartenders!!! Best cocktails fun spot good food !

Gordon McNelly

Chef Alex did not disappoint!! I had the cauliflower steak and it was divine. Everything was amazing!!

Laurent Bouaziz

Nice place. Feels a bit touristy and for out of town business travelers who want to stay close to Times Square. The draft beer were not working. A bit pricey. Good to impress travelers would come from abroad or if you are in the Times square neighborhood

Brad Orme

5 stars is not enough this was beyond great.

Omni Vore

Booked for lunch with high expectations since we love Alex’s style of cooking. I would say we were pretty disappointed. Food was average, service was below average, waiter almost non existent!! (even though he charged a direct 20% gratuity for a party of 2!!). The key-lime pie was the highlight of the meal.

Christine Guarneri

My wife and I went here 2 days ago and it was absolutely amazing and the staff was very friendly, very clean place, amazing foods!!! My favorite gnocchi mac and cheese and Broccoli in balsamic!!! I did ask for Alex, darn maybe another time somewhere.

Aub Driver

Incredible restaurant. As the name suggests, the food was very rich and quite decadent. Highly recommended for a date night in midtown.

Christopher Parkins

Great environment if you would like to have a conversation while enjoying a beverage. However, if you would normally order 3 small plates for a group of two, order five. The bartenders aren't intrusive. I haven't sat down to eat (away from the bar) as of yet, but I assume I'll add a star once I do.

Chase Dorsett

The food was wonderful! I was especially surprised by the freshly made pasta (in particular, the squid ink pasta). Our waiter was incredibly funny, had great insights to what food we might enjoy, as well as wine. Overall, great experience, however, the price point is a bit high for how casual the place is. But if you’re looking for good food rather than style, this is a good place to go.

Tamara Mavroides

Finally got to eat at famous top chef restaurant. Did not disappoint.

Dave Scruggs

Brunch was wonderful! The hanger steak and the gnocchi mac and cheese were amazing!

tk kenny

Great food and great people. You'll be leaving with a great smile and happy stomach

Crystal Klas

There were a few issues with our meal here. We ordered a bottle of wine to start when it was pretty good until we realized it was not the same vintage listed on the menu. The wine was significantly younger than listed. At that point we were halfway through it and felt we had no ability to bring it up. The shrimp cocktail was good and our entrees following were as well. The dessert was just ok. The biggest issue was after we paid our bill the itemized version of it we were charged higher prices for all but one item that was listed. Would not try again because of all the inconsistencies with the meal.

Alana Palmerini

The cocktails, bread, and food are all incredible. The wait tends to be a bit long, but the food is worth it. I'd recommend making a reservation in advance. The wait staff is friendly and very helpful. Make sure to get a dessert- they're all delicious!

Adam Shapiro

My girlfriend recommended Butter because she likes Alex Guarnaschelli from the television. We live in AZ. We'll I'll say that Butter delivered the goods. It's fun and everything I ate or saw was excellent. I'd come back for sure and I'd recommend it. Especially if you are on a date and need to impress your girl. Cheers!

Helen Su

Good food. But service was slow, understandably there was a party going on the same night.

Emanuela Cozzi

the food, even if I had different expectation, was really good. branzino really well done!the architecture and atmosphere are nice too

Richard Derr

Delicious all around.Great food and awesome cocktails.

John Bowman

Our meal was delicious. My girlfriend got the Gnocchi Mac and Cheese as her appetizer which was "yummy" and her White Cloud Cauliflower was awesome. She loved the marash pepper. I had the Creekstone Farms New York Strip medium that was cooked to perfection. Thick, juicy and tasty. Grilled Broccoli was great. I only ate the florets and could have had less stalk for me. For dessert, I had the Pumpkin Spice Almond Milk Sundae. It was out of this world. I couldn't stop eating the crumble that there was a lot of it, and the homemade ice cream, I can't even describe because it was so deliciously different. You have to get it to find out. But, it's seasonal so you have get there soon. The service was top-notch. Waiter was knowledgeable and personable. Plates were removed and was water topped off timely. My girlfriend who is a foodie, enjoyed seeing Alex in the dining room. I should call it #Starstruck.

Vincent Todisco

Nice place , so so food

Marie Sorbera

Restaurant week took us to this wonderful restaurant owned by a famous female chef. $30.00 for a 3 ckjse luncheon. Attentive service, beautiful ambience and delicious food perfectly prepared and presented. Atteqcks a great crowd. A place not to be missed.

Cheddar Cheese

We asked for a booth because we order plenty, and got it! One of the best meals. Make sure to get a drink from the specialty menu!

Alicia Bishop

Amazing ambiance, interesting cocktail combinations, and phenomenal food. I ordered the Veal special and the portion was massive.

Matt Kus

Very ok American standard fare. Super safe for after-work events, as you will satisfy everyone with the variety of options. All done well but nothing special. Limited selection of gins and beers on tap. Nice staff.

Betty Pamias

Excellent service and food.

David Schick

Loved the food! Great service and a nice variety of options. Definitely higher end prices, but I think the food justifies it!

Bill Hulme

We were excited to come here during restaurant week and it didn’t disappoint. Cozy atmosphere and the dessert was amazing.

Matt Zvolanek

Awesome food. Chef Alex was awesome during the cooking demo.

Tyler Olsen

Great spot. We had a lovely dinner, just wish the portions were slightly bigger.

Robyn Ligotti

Shared small plates - every one was excellent. Great wine, nice atmosphere.

Jason Holder

Fantastic experience- my wife enjoyed her fan trip to Butter. The service was excellent and we would highly recommend the octopus and pork dishes.

Nathan Widtfeldt

We had reservations for a decent size group here on a warm summer day. They wouldn't seat us until the whole party arrived even though the restaurant was empty. We ended up leaving before we ordered because the A/C seemed to be broken because it was very warm inside. When we asked one of the staff if it was broken they blew off the idea.

Food was good but the young girl at the entry unable to respond because she was texting is unacceptable. People working at Butter compared to years has lost their motivation and happiness.

The food here is truly spectacular. Everything from the bread to the dessert was delicious. The Mac and cheese gnocchi, pot roast, and pineapple upside down cake were particularly memorable bites. The atmosphere is chic and fun. The staff were very friendly. The price is a bit steep but it's absolutely worth it.

I visited Butter on a culinary trip to New York, and I must say, I was not impressed. The ambiance was very nice, but after spending $50 on my dinner, I ended up with a nearly unseasoned apple salad, a bit of lukewarm and overcooked ravioli, and a cake-type thing that merely tased of orange peel. I would definitely recommend going somewhere else that would charge 1/4 the price and have better food.

I've been to many restaurants and this is far the worst experience. We chose this restaurant for the fact it was owned by Chef Alex Guarnaschelli. Very disappointed in the food. No flavor. I would steer away from coming here. It looks good, doesn't taste as good as it looks. The atmosphere is pretty cool though. My drink was ok. Sugary. For the food: we got the "special" which was the Red Snapper for 2. I was picking bones out every bite I had. We even asked our server if it was de-boned. I could possibly expect 1 or 2 bones, but I pulled out probably 15 or more! Also, the person I was sharing my dish with was almost chocking on a bone. The dinner rolls were cold and hard! I should have read the reviews before coming here. Don't be fooled!

Loved the NY strip.

The veal bacon was outstanding and our other choices were all gluten free and excellent!

Very expensive, not really the place to go if you're travelling on a budget and while the food is presented well and tastes pretty good, it's hard to say the chicken was worth 37 dollars. We were placed on wonky table, which staff did their best to correct with what they had but still wasnt ideal. The inclusion of a 20 per cent tip also seems a little gratuitous. The service was fine but it wasn't over the top good. Just basics you'd expect anywhere to be honest. All in all, good food - certainly better than your average restaurant, but still overpriced. Four stars is for the taste of the food and the overall presentation of the restaurant, misses five cause it's still a bit expensive.

Expensive! Excellent attention from the server who filed my water glass. Waiter was not attentive or friendly.

From the shrimp cocktail to the salmon to the miniature desserts, there was nothing to write home about. A complete let down.

This is a top notch restaurant. I went for the Sunday Brunch and the food was great. It is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Just excellent.
