REVIEWS OF Blue Hill IN New Jersey

Howard Gregory

The fruits and veggies are definitely the star of the show. The squash was intensely flavored and amazing with the smoked puree. The sorbet was a great round out of the meal. Staff is great, caring and patient (there were some difficult tables next to us). We also had many great lessons about Blue Hill farm throughout the night. I took a star because the meats were just so-so for my pallet and both the lobster and veal were almost impossible to cut with the knives provided. Also, the lighting in just a touch too dark. A 5% increase might be worth trying out to see the results. Overall great experience!

Edith Caldwell

We chose tasting menu for our dinner. Food ranged from excellent to good definitely not of equal quality. Lobster dumplings were excellent. Rooster was very good. Beet steak was only good, flavor and texture definitely did not live up to expectations.

Trevis True

A truly wonderful culinary voyage. Service staff were friendly and moved plate after plate with extreme precision. Every bite was delicious and yes, Blue Hill has the best carrot anyone has ever had.

Adriana Warinsky

Went to blue hill for a party a few days ago and it was amazing.Food was delicious and fresh. Highly recommend the house salad. Looking to set up my husband's birthday here next year!

Aron Wagner

Had a great dinner another night at this restaurant. The atmosphere is really friendly. Loved the wine selection. Food is fresh and well presented. The dinner was delicious.

Jeanne Williams

I wish I could make it out to stone barn farm upstate, but this is a great alternative in Manhattan with everything locally sourced from the farm. Fresh and tasty. Great set menus.

Matt Cresswell

One of the nicest places to eat in New York, pretty simple food from the store above but fantastically cooked and seasoned. We had the 5 course farmers feast with wine pairing and can't fault it. You may not be a fan of all the courses but that's the beauty of multiple courses.

Max Lazary

An incredible dining experience. Myself and one other person ordered their tasting menu and we were at the table for nearly four hours. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and very down to earth. The food was delicious, inventive and beautiful. As one would expect this is a great destination for those who are into the farm to table movement.

Billy Hashimoto

Food is very good. Wait staff very accommodating.

Felipe Lerena

The food is so awesome.

Ballance Leaven

Good place good food option at reasonable and genuine price. Must try.

Paige Rogers

I have ridiculous food allergies and I wrote back and forth with the staff several times to create a menu for me. My meal was presented beautifully and with such care. Delicious. Cannot recommend more highly!!

Alice Parker

The lobsters I had here were cooked so aptly. Highly recommended.

It changes our perspectives of what great food should taste like. We attended the weekend tour at Stone Barn. The restaurant added another context to what excellent farming can produce. The dishes never cease to amaze. It is an experience well worth the wait and the price.

I went here for a business dinner with a group of about 12 or so. It was an experiential meal with a set menu, but the wait staff asked each guest for any dietary restrictions or if there was anything they just wouldn't like. (Asked on that note the service itself was exceptional.) I elected to let the chef do his/her thing for me. Now wine was a big part of the meal, pairing a different wine with each course, but I don't drink wine so I can't really speak to its quality. It sure sounded good, and the other guests seemed to enjoy it. The food, however, was very, very good. My favorites were the second course, which was basically a pea puree with a poached egg.The puree had a great, vibrant flavor. My favorite dish, however, was the main course - pork 2 ways over.fermented oats. The oats had me a little nervous but they were phenomenal, while the pork belly I received was absolutely perfect.

Patrick Costello

Food was very good and fresh staff and service were top notch. I would recommend for any big occasion

Ashanna Biltoo

We went here for a birthday dinner and from the moment we arrived, we thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant's ambience and the warm service of the staff. The Farmers Feast was simply an amazing experience.

Tanya Adams

Probably the best meal experience I've ever had. It is expensive but so worth the splurge even just once. Every dish was inventive and beautifully presented. Several of the courses are vegetable based and never are you presented with a salad, but rather mouthwatering bites of amazing food. The service is outstanding.

Hector Murrieta

This is one of the finest restaurants I've been to in NY. The menu is already set, & it varies throughout the year (it's seasonal). Each plate served is different & absolutely stunning. Food is organic and farm grown. Service is top notch as well, as they take an active interest on your food preferences (allergies, etc). Worth every dollar spent.

Natalia Królak-Johansen

Oh dear... What an experience. This is a whole evening experience and not just dinner. You just have to go there to see what I am talking about. Reservation required ahead, so check their website.

Wade Guenther

The food is amazing. First, they split the menu into two choices: 1) A five course farmer's tasting menu 2) A base four course menu The restaurant requests no photos so we honored their request. Pictures provided were before we saw the notice in the menu. We had the celery root risotto, squash that was rolled in chestnut and cocoa nibs, lamb with cranberry and pistachio, Maine lobster, diver scallop with lime, beet steak with spinach and cabbage ketchup. The rhubarb rum cake dessert app was great too.

Chloe Kounadis

We are had an extraordinary evening at Blue Hill last night! The courses was thought constructed and full of flavor. The ambience was initmate and cozy. Our server, Taylor was a highlight of the night. He was so passionate and knowledgeable about the food and wine! We had the best meal and learned a lot about where the food and wine came from based on his expertise. I would highly recommend it for a special night out!

Timothy Rosser

Limited selection, but very good food.

Natalie Conleyi

The Food, the Staff, the Environment everything is awesome there. I enjoyed a lot with my buddies there. I always arrange my meet ups here.

Laura Emoke Gabor

Pricey, prix fixe, but very interesting dishes and enjoyable if you're a foodie. Service is absolutely incredible, and it was a great experience.

Uzzi Mike

The service was exceptional and staff was super friendly. Great menu I highly recommend.

Maria Niţă

Great place with its food, drinks, atmosphere and staff. We enjoyed every moment.

Kirty Roy

Amazing place. Food was good. Peaceful place. Atmosphere was good. Staff were greeted with smile.

Gary Mc Donald

Amazing restaurant. Dan Barber and his team of chefs are passionate about the food they curate here. I’d walk 500 miles and then 500 more to eat at this gem.

Jon Brown

I honestly cannot say enough good things about the experience that we had at at Blue Hill. To start with the service was incredible. Everyone on the wait staff was incredibly attentive and knowledge. The wine pairings with the meal were incredible, as well as the stories that came with them. Then there was the food. Each bite just explodes in your mouth. Each course brought a new excitement. It was absolutely incredible. We went to New York hoping for an experience like this, and we were not let down.

Elizabeth Daniel

Blue Hill is amazing, full stop. Everything is super fresh, coming straight from the farm, and the staff are knowledgeable when it comes to the components of the food and the drinks. Courses are by turns uniquely inventive and dead simple in preparation but full of flavor and whimsy either way. Stone Barns is worth the trip and the investment at least once in your life, but the NYC location is more easily accessible and (can be) less of a sticker-shock situation. We'll be back.

Joseph Schilling

Warm environment, very welcoming to start with....Food was fresh, well presented, flavor was original but didn’t wow me. Food portion is about 3 mouth full each course, which is great that u won’t be too full by the end. I went alone, and was sitting at the bar. Service was punctuate but wasn’t too warm, a little arrogant and distanced, felt being ignored a bit. Overall, it’s a nice experience

Salim Su

Great food and good service.

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. Every plate was a work of art, and the non-traditional pairing was a lot of fun.

Philippe De Backer

Wonderful innovative cuisine with a deep respect for the natural ingredients. Cozy atmosphere and friendly professional service. Definitely worth a visit

Neta Halevi

I was really expecting for this experience. Everything was great, the service is extraordinary and though the place was packed we could still hear each other (party of 4). But the food was not as amazing as I expected... Again it is probably because of my expectations

Klaus Spiekermann

We decided to book this restaurant after we saw the Netflix series(like many others that night). The main google pic with the red chairs must be an old one(thank goodness) so we were positively surprised to see a different interior. Service was at first rather hectic as the restaurant was buzzing, they even opened up the private dining section in the back of the Restaurant to cater for all the guests. Main restaurant clients were birthday or anniversary couples who all had the same card with a personal note written on it and later on throughout the night a slice of complimentary birthday cake served. Food was nice but not that spectacular, however the value for money is reasonable. Service was very attentive and genuine. Verdict: nice place and definitely worth trying but would you visit it for a second time? Well, I leave that up to you to decide.

Keith Cook

Innovative, healthy and delicious food in a warm environment. Food presentation was great and tasted as good as it looked. Bread was outstanding and lamb magnificent. Great experience. My wife and I had a wonderful time at Blue hill in Manhattan for her birthday dinner. Our server Savanna was amazing! We asked a lot of questions about preparation and the sources of the food and she knew it all! We did the extended farmers feast and really enjoyed every course. The scallops were my favorite! We had gone to Blue hill at stone barn a few years ago and was happy to see that the level of service, unique food, and atmosphere are shared between the two. Very excited to go back again during a different season to what culinary adventure they have in store!

Linnea Lei

Cozy, creative & astoundingly delicious. A real welcoming atmosphere - we were grateful for a fine dining experience without any pompous attitude, but instead, abundance of healthful food & gracious fun-loving service. Thank you for your humble excellence! It was all a real treat.

Kristine Bowles

Making a reservation was quick, when we arrived our breath was taken away by the atmosphere. If you want to impress someone go ahead and make a reservation. Their food was top notch. Great service overall.

Victoria Peteri

I really enjoyed this place, the food is incredible, as well as the shower rooms were not smelly. It was a little chilly inside, definatly was not the best. The host is great too. I will certainly think about going back once again if I get the chance. Me and also my close friend purchased the works and also we were not let down. My one recommendation is to keep the chilly exterior. Come again!

Amy Leung

I really enjoyed the food and the service!

Monya L

I had dinner at Blue Hill twice. The pictures are a few days ago (Sep 2018). I also visited Stone Barns and learned the philosophy how they approach the mother nature as well as the method of farming and how they grow vegetables, live stocks and bees. Among many acclaimed restaurants I have been to, I like Blue Hill very much. The food is true to nature without much frills. Yet it is sophisticated enough. This time I sat at the bar (because I couldn’t book ahead). The bartender was skillful - he took our orders without writing down while making cocktails for other customers. But everything came with precise correctness. Blue Hill has great (thoughtful) options for drinks including desert wines. Please try. My next wish is to dine at Blue Hill at Stone Barns (which seems to be almost impossible to book :( )

Vanita Romang

Excellent place for groups and friends. Once you will here you will never regret. Well worth your time and money.

Robert Smith

Great food every time we visited, never got disappointed, thanks

Sagar Rajgopal

Maybe one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The service was attentive but not stuffy and the dishes were inventive and bursting with flavor.

B L

Best meal I've had in a long time. I suggest the extended farmers menu.

Egan F.

My wife and I come to Blue Hill every time we are in NY and they never disappoint. Exceptional ingredients, seasonal menu and service. We would give 6 stars if we could.

Ella Berlyand

Incredible dining experience with great service

Katie B. Stratton

Incredible farm to table cuisine with wonderful ambiance, friendly and knowledgeable staff and an overall wonderful dining experience!

Dennis Garrett

High end farm to table restaurant with interesting food and wines. Not your ordinary takes on preparation. Crisp dinning room and highly train servers. Portions are on the small size.

Robert Thompson

Unforgettable experience, every single dollar spent was worthy.

Jimmie Williams

Service is excellent, wine is excellent, food is excellent.

Martin Lee

Unique experience ever

Renee Gittins

A delightful experience that was perfectly curated and presented. The food itself was truly stunning, with delicately balanced flavors, intriguing texture combinations, and the highest quality ingredients. The dining alone was more than worth the trip to NYC, but the wonderful service that was polite, informative, and engaging helped complete the experience. I can absolutely recommend Blue Hill for anyone who wishes to enjoy delectable, unique dishes in a relaxed and polished atmosphere.

Mathew Diaz

We chose tasting menu for our dinner. Food ranged from excellent to good definitely not of equal quality. Lobster dumplings were excellent. Rooster was very good. Beet steak was only good, flavor and texture definitely did not live up to expectations.

Sam Rutherford

Had the extended feast and everything was very good. They even accommodated for my girlfriend's dairy allergy with no issues. Sadly, the restaurant doesn't allow phones at the table, so no pictures.

ACARAA

We came with great expectations and were not disappointed!

Anna Carter

The dishes perfectly match with the drinks. I appreciate the service for asking your country of origin and proposing you the meals and drinks accordingly.

Zachary Levy

Unique and amazing....food seems to never stop, so many favorites, it's truly an experience

Love this spot. Better than 11 Madison Park in my opinion. Really quaint dining. Fabulous food. Professional employees who are extremely knowledgable. Massive thumbs up.

Rodrigo Arb de Castro

Amazing food and staff!!

Mat Houle

My wife and I were greeted at the door with smiles and wonderful conversation. From there the night just got better and better. The service was exceptional, staff was extremely knowledgeable about the dishes and all of the components. Sommelier recommendations we're spot on. The food was other level. So well thought out and executed perfectly. Easily one of the best dining experiences of my life. The Michelin guide should definitely revisit the one star rating to three. Thanks to the staff for an amazing evening.

Judy Sun

The best. Focus is on the best ingredients and making damn sure it's the best that you've ever had. No gimmicks, just tasty food.

Andy Lewis

LOVE THIS PLACE! The service and food is absolutely amazing!

David Kagel

From the moment you sit down you are in for a treat! The cocktails are so much fun. I had the Yellow Jacket combination of honey, egg whites and turmeric which gives the drink the perfect color and balance. Since the menu is ever changing I hope you can drive the diver scallop which is behind delicious and the Juice pulp cheeseburger which if even better as beefless. Th beer ice cream is unusual as is almost everything here. Presentation and fresh and amazing incredients and combinations that only a genius chef like Dan Barber could dream up. The ambiance is also fantastic and the staff world class!

Ross Todd

This place was a perfect 10 from start to finish. The bartender was so awesome even though I’m not drinking this month and took up three seats with two other friends. This place is ahead of the times.

Recently I went on a little culinary tour of New York and this was one of the spots I hit. I will say that it was a bit pricey but everything in New York is, I mean even the giraffe shaving I went to was 3x what I would have paid here in Ohio. On the plus side all the drinks we ordered were in appropriately shaped glasses. Often on the coasts I find that the stem wear is a bit edgy for my Midwestern taste but again the glasses and even the silverware here were not overly "suggestive" or vague. The waiter was a professional and he displayed no aggressive tendencies and did not seem overwhelmed by the fact that we are all mortals and will eventually succumb to the progression of time. All in all it is worth visit if you are going to be hitting the big apple. 5 stars.

I am saddened to report that my wife got food poisoning here. I got it too, but to a way lesser extent. It's a shame, as we had been looking forward to dining at Blue Hill for a long time. We were in town on vacation and celebrating our friend's birthday. We think the poisoning was caused by the greens from the carrot, which was the first course. I will say that our server, Mary, was awesome. She was friendly, fun, informative, etc. The experience as a whole was good, although we've definitely had better food for more reasonable cost. But when my wife started violently throwing up about 6 hours later, our view understandably changed. It got so bad that I had to take her to urgent care the next morning to get treated by a doctor. It was then that I called Blue Hill to tell them what had happened. To their credit the manager I spoke with, Cole, seemed to take our situation seriously, telling me he would inform the chef, etc. and expressing sympathy for my wife's situation. At this point, if you were in our position what would you expect a high-end, Michelin-star rated restaurant to do? Give your money back, right? I mean, it's not like it's Chili's and you spent $50. We spent almost $500... to get food poisoning! At first I didn't say anything about the money, thinking that of course they would offer to refund at least part of our bill. Cole, who was also very nice, said they had a 48 hour procedure to follow and they'd need to see if anyone else got sick that night, etc and that he would call me back in two days. I said I totally understand and I look forward to speaking with him again. He never called. Again, a restaurant of this caliber... I felt like it was adding insult to injury. I called him five days later. But I don't want to paint this as dealing with nasty people or having a big screaming fight. It wasn't. Cole was very polite and apologized for not calling. We had a very civil, respectful conversation. However, he said my wife was the only person to get sick and therefore they felt that maybe she got sick from somewhere else. Now, is this possible? Sure. From our perspective though, there was nothing else she or I ate that day that would be a suspect for causing food poisoning. It does seem highly more likely that carrot greens from a farm could have not been washed thoroughly. And that just because no one else got sick doesn't mean that the greens on HER plate didn't cause HER to get sick. Cole then told me there was nothing else the restaurant was willing to do for us because they felt sure the food poisoning wasn't from them. Although, he did say he hoped we'd come back and give them another chance. Ha! The thing is, it's not about the money. We chose to go there, as we have many other expensive restaurants over the years. We knew what it would cost and we decided to go. Not that we can afford this kind of dinner more than maybe once a year, but still. It's about customer care. A person comes to your restaurant and believes they got sick from your food. If I were the restaurant, especially a high-end one like this, even if I thought you may have gotten sick elsewhere, I'd say, “let me at least refund your wife's meal. I'm sorry your experience here was tainted.” I mean, what does that really cost them? All it does is make them look good, make me feel cared for as a customer, and de-escalate the situation. Again, I do understand where they are coming from and their point of view. I just think in terms of customer relations, PR, whatever you want to call it, there's a right way to handle these kinds of situations where with minimal output you can make everyone walk away feeling better. Instead, they chose to make my experience even worse. UPDATE: After contacting upper management and posting this review, the owner of the restaurant emailed me personally to apologize and provide compensation. He was very gracious and he handled the situation as it should have been handled from the start. So for that, I am grateful.

Bjorn Falk

A truly wonderful experience. The menu is fantastic both in selection and execution. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful and provided us with a memorable night.

Alaviaa Jaaferi

The breakfast brunch was great. We went at 10:45 and everything was still hot and there was plenty of everything. Our server was very friendly and took good care of us.

Sarvenaz Myslicki

I ate here a couple years ago and still remember how delicious the dishes were. Not to mention they had the best bread I've ever tasted. Just make sure you look up the dishes in their tasting menu before booking so that you are sure you like their seasonal offerings.

Nick D

Incredible food. Incredible service. Phone reservations open exactly one month beforehand so make sure you call early. There was seemingly 10-15 minutes in between each plate, so best not to have plans for after, unless you’ve planned about 3 hours for dinner.

Alysse Johnson

So deliciously amazing! We went here for our last dating anniversary before our wedding next year and they pulled out all of the stops, even set out this little anniversary card and brought us a surprise dessert at the end. Service was on point. We ordered the extended tasting menu. It was so good and I was stuffed by the end. My favorites out of all the courses was the asparagus and the duck. The duck was the best duck I have ever had, I always thought I didn’t like duck until I had this duck!

Olivia Denham

Like many others, I wanted to like this meal so much. I will say that my wine and service was phenomenal. The flow of service was impeccable. I'm an avid watcher of chef's table and had high expectations. I thought the complimentary pepper and radish were great. However, the first course of cheese and peppers was a bit too rich. The second course of fish and some grated veggie on the other hand was too watery and lacked texture. The main course of chicken and apple was quite unpleasant. It was overly sweet. Dessert was also rather unsatisfactory. The goat icecream with the apricot and turmeric sounded delicious but did not settle well. It was one of the restaurants that we regretted dropping so much money on after the fact.

MariMar E.

Oh man. Ugh. What the heck happened to this place? Showed up with low expectations for our anniversary dinner (because who wants to set themselves up for disappointment at a place like this), and man, my intuition was right on point. Two types of tasting menus are offered, with an array of staples in each dish reflecting the current seasons. The amuse bouche reminded me of a skit from The Office that Dwight would have made himself. Was excited for the squid ink “risotto”, but instead, the dish no rice, but celery root as the grain substitute. I know it’s super trendy right now to create dishes like that, but that was a let down and perhaps an oversight of mine as fault. Anyway, after a surprisingly good main course, the meal finished with an embarrassing dessert course. I hope the spring weather brings more inspiration because it was such a let-down ending for a great night. Some celebratory petit fours would have gone a long way. We ended up going somewhere else that made up for the off-night this place had. Overall, yeah. Maybe the warm months are better to go here. At least you get great service. The perfect environment to be seen if you want to be seen, in a small, intimate setting. Like the winter months, this place is void of creativity and warmth.

Patrik Hobbes

Probably the best meal experience I've ever had. It is expensive but so worth the splurge even just once. Every dish was inventive and beautifully presented. Several of the courses are vegetable based and never are you presented with a salad, but rather mouthwatering bites of amazing food. The service is outstanding.

Kahn Rhrissorrakrai

Beautifully created food that was surprising, tasty, and deeply satisfying

Elena Miratabo

This restaurant is an amazing farm to table dining experience! if your want flavor and a quaint dining experience, I highly recommend it. May sure to make a reservation before you visit. Also, It can be on the pricey side but it is worth it! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and so friendly. My husband I have several food allergies, the waiter alerted the kitchen staff and the main chef came to our table. He explained were every ingredient came from and what substitutes they offered. Our plate(s) were amazing, each one that came out just got better and better. Just writing this review, I am remembering all the flavor from my meal and I want so much to experience it again! Make sure to also check out their wine and cocktail menu!

Adam Franks

Best meal Ive ever had the privledge of being served.

Alex C

I like this place. Good food. Great service. Be prepared to wait for a reservation.

Molly Nashua

food was great fast service and waiter was friendly

Lee Dimond

We did the extended farmer's feast, which is their normal tasting menu plus two extra courses -- a pig dish and the pasta and tomatoes dish from their regular menu. (There were also lots of small bites in between, but it's possible that those all come with the regular farmer's feast.) This ended up being a pretty perfect amount of food -- we were full, but not sick at the end.

Phyllis Silva

My top place for american food. i love this place always quality food & service. service is typically above par. this place has an awesome feel to it.

Jacques Cline

We had a lovely time here. we were a party of three and managed to try all but one of the items on daily menu and the farmer's feast. the simplicity of the food allows you to taste the freshness of the ingredients; however, i must say that some of the key ingredients didn't really stand out like the beef in the 'beef & broccoli' or the crab in the 'maine crab' dishes. Service was superb, as you would expect to get from a fine restaurant. Be prepared to pay upwards of 160$ pp if you order a bottle of wine.

Malcolm Darling

We chose tasting menu for our dinner. Food ranged from excellent to good definitely not of equal quality. Lobster dumplings were excellent. Rooster was very good. Beet steak was only good, flavor and texture definitely did not live up to expectations.

Dean Toulan

Tremendous. Food was amazing. Staff was even better. Very impressive.

Abraham Awad

A taste bud experience! It was like they took our taste buds on a trip to mars! We loved it! It is a fixed menu at Blue Hill with two (kind of) options. We recommend getting one of each if you are with a friend. They bring out the courses on really raw, awesome looking plates. The food itself was heaven. Each dish was such a new flavor experience. There were flavors we feel we have never tasted before. Some dishes like the bass had a dill sauce that was one of the best things I have ever eaten. My wife said the chicken was the best chicken she has ever eaten! The dessert was divine. Blueberry pie was like a mousse with a crust so good, we could have just eaten crust pie! They served a mint ice cream with the smallest, most flavorful strawberries and blueberries I have ever eaten! Most of the food they serve is grown or raised organically on their family owned farm, which makes you feel ten times better about eating it!

Gabriele Gherbaz

The most sublime dinner I've had in a long time. The farmers tasting menu is full of tasty surprises and explosion of flavors. The service is very attentive and at the same time a very relax atmosphere. They helped us out choosing the best glass of wine and ensure we were satisfied with the choice. Highly recommended

Joshua Knepley

Have gone on three occasions now and find it ti be one of the finest, most reliably fantastic experiences in NYC. The seasonal menu from their upstate farm is always creative and inspiring and pairs perfectly with their expertly selected wine list. The menu changes frequently, though there is no better place for defining what American farm-to-table cuisine should aspire to be. Cocktails and desserts are also necessities - they simply can't be passed up, even if you might be on a diet.

Sherry Zhang

This was probably the most disappointing restaurant experience I have ever had. I had wanted to go to Blue Hill in NYC since I saw the Chef's Table series. Totally inspired by the philosophy of the restaurant I convinced my boyfriend we would have dinner there on one of our three nights in NYC. It was my boyfriend's first time to the city, so I made sure to book a couple of good places in advance - Blue Hill being one of them. My boyfriend is coeliac. I informed the restaurant in advance so that they would be able to accommodate him on the set menu. We have done this many times in other high-end restaurants, so I didn't think this would be an issue, especially in NYC. The waiters were aware of the dietary, however they weren't able to share what the GF option would be "The chef will create something special" was the response. It is frustrating receiving this response, as it makes it seem that they do not have a clue. In addition to this, the wine bottle we got was corked. We informed the waiter/sommelier and they kindly took care of it and replaced with another wine which was delicious. Once the food arrived, it was extremely average. We ended up waiting about an hour between the second starter and main. The main that arrived was so disappointing that although I love food and never leave dishes uneaten, I couldn't finish it. Not to mention the below average GF option my boyfriend got - chickpeas in the starter sauce with a couple of pieces of chicken. The combination of the lack of attention to the special diet, the tasteless food and the extremely long wait, was shocking for the 190 USD we paid for the meal, plus wine. The waiters did what they could to make up for it, however the kitchen really let them down. Never ever will I recommend this place to anyone.

Margot Armstrong

This restaurant is perfect for a rendezvous. Your beloved one will definitely appreciate the healthy meals, the lovely design and the divine environment.

Jeff Starkman

Probably the best meal experience I've ever had. It is expensive but so worth the splurge even just once. Every dish was inventive and beautifully presented.

Andrea Romagnoli

Everytime it's a beautiful experience. Thanks to a wonderful Chef and his exceptional team. Always delighted

Jarrod Lopes

Best farm-to-table meal in the city. Every dish is the result of carefully chosen ingredients that best compliment each other. The presentation and expert service is also part of the to-shelf experience. Not huge menu; you choose between two tasting menus... I am guessing their Noto is do a few things and do them in a way that exceeds all expectations! Mission accomplished! The unique house cocktails incorporate the essence of vegetables that will pleasantly surprise you. For two, with tax and tip, expect to drop around $400-500 (depending on your wine selection). For what you get, though, it is well worth it.

Gilad Avital

Wow. Amazing experience! Totally worth it!

Amanda Swartman

Great food and great service!

We enjoyed a vegetarian and pescatarian ‘farmers feast’ tasting menu with wine pairings and really enjoyed everything. We had some really wonderful and interesting wines and memorable dishes including a broccoli dish that was so delicious I’m still thinking about it, and I don’t like broccoli. Service was flawless and the decor/atmosphere is beautiful.

It was a great stay in NYC and having lunch at Blue Hill was a great joy. Would love to come back here again.

Jeff Harris

Best food in New York by far. Came in for dinner and left extremely full and satisfied. Will be entertaining clients here soon.

Lovely dinner with some amazing fresh farm grown ingredients. Loved every meal, can’t wait to visit the farm location and experience it again. Service is attentive, friendly and never overwhelming - now that is really hard to achieve. Better service from the staff than some Michelin 3 star restaurants. Thank you for an enjoyable and memorable night!

Blue Hill is just awesome! The place is cozy and comfortable, the steak was so good, tasty and juicy, the staff were amazing too! Definitely worth 5 stars!

Today was the first time I've been to this place and I can only say good things about it. The place feels so cozy and not to mention, the staff really knows their menu. They were all quite knowledgeable with regards to the menu. Definitely a place to go for seconds or even more. Thank you Blue Hill :)

This is a very special place for foodies. Be sure to look at their menu before you go. It is probably not for everyone but my sister and I loved it. They serve very fresh and creatively prepared and presented food. We chose from the daily menu of four courses where you get a choice of two or three selections. It is easy to share so it is good to choose one of each selection in each course. Though the portions are small it is substantial enough to be filling.

Every dish you have will be the best version of the ingredient you've ever had.

I’ve been two times to Blue hill as the first time the experience was disappointing and decided to give it a second chance. Unfortunately the second time was similar to the first. The food is ok but not worth all the buzz and definitely not worth the price.

Good but not elite. Missed the mark a few times. Ordered 2 of the Famer Feast Extended tasting menues with wine pairings. Let me first say not worth it, would avoid, just go with the regular Farmer Feast. The extended menus comes with 2 extra dishes and is also an upcharge on the wine pairing. First dish was baby carrot, turnip with lard, and speck ham all paired with a sparkling wine from Long Island. Dishes were good but nothing great, which is exactly what I would say about the sparkling wine. The second dish was exceptional, a pork liver sandwiched in a type of savory chocolate cracker that tasted like a foie gras sandwich. The next dish is a lobster dumpling and honestly I hope they drop this dish from the menu. East coasters know lobster is made to taste purely with butter and have the texture of claw or tail when enjoying. This is a mortal sin what they did, chopped lobster with what I assumed is a lot of carrot and other nonsense that doesn’t belong. The resling that came with the paring was amazing but lobster prepared in this manner honestly ruined the dish even with the wine pairing. Also that resling is one of the best I’ve ever had. Next was the scallop which was delicious but could have used a second scallop. The wine paired with this was another white that honestly had a home brewed taste to it. The wine got mixed reviews. After the scallop was a cabbage dish with caviar (forgettable) and a pastrami dish which is a total miss. It’s bold to make a pastrami in NY, because honestly that tradition is so cherished but also so rare in the world today that coming out with a dish like that has to be bold in a high end restaurant. That dish is so mediocre it was embarrassing. Seemed like an instagram ad. Sad thing is the original menu said lamb from the farm and then I get mediocre pastrami instead for dinner

We came here for an anniversary dinner and were seated in a very nice, private corner of the garden room. We order the feast and tasting menu and sampled a few wines. This was the best food we’ve had in years (last was in Napa), the service was friendly and casual with good explanations and recommendations and timely service. While we were stuffed at the end I want to do the extended feast next time to get the extra surprise dishes. Will be back for sure!

Jared Fulton

Out of this world experience! Joe and Savannah made our date night one to remember at the West Village location. I can’t begin to describe how special that meal was and the flavors that came out of it. Brilliant.

John Fitzpatrick

Probably the best place to hangout. I usually go here with my friends for some dine-outs and parties.

Frank DeLigio

You need 10 more stars! One of the best meals we have had in our lives. Find Adrian the best server in NYC. The food is tastier than any, the service is brilliant, the wine is exquisite. This is THE place!

Kurt Marvin

Underwhelmed, the room is small with low ceilings and they were serving steamed vegetables in Sage and several other herbs which came out smoking to all the tables causing the room to fill with smoke, for the next 2 hours my eyes were burning and my nose was running. The food was good but have had better. Their original restaurant is much better.

Keith A Johnson

The food was perfectly curated, perfection portioned, and all-around delicious.

Julie Newman

Great service and incredible food!

Maribel Mullins

Amazing experience and food! Get the extended farmer's feast, well worth it.

Dee Lima

Petite location with a fantastic menu and truly farm to table ingredients.

Amanda Jones

Unbelievable experience. Food was great and clean.

supposed to be one of the top culinary experience

We had a wonderful time at Blue Hill for a special occasion. Despite not being fans of root vegetables, or just vegetables in general - the talented folks here had us absolutely loving dishes with these ingredients. Everything was delicious. The service was super friendly, unpretentious and totally personable - we enjoyed chatting with the staff. We were even invited to the kitchen to see how things work behind the scenes. The only minor thing that we thought they could improve on is sometimes the different folks who delivered our food wasn't so interested in introducing the food and would rush off. But this wasn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Overall, it was an amazing experience and we'll definitely be back.

Breana Domingo

I loved the atmosphere . Every thing was well managed . Staff were very polite and friendly .

Refined, sophisticated, cozy, comfortable but upscale. The food was so fresh - this place is exemplary when it comes to the “farm to table” concept. We love everything we were served. Portion sizing was just right too. Our waiter was fantastic. We loved celebrating my husbands birthday there. The vanilla bean cake was scrumptious. Plus, we got free champagne!

The atmosphere is really friendly,. Every dish was inventive and beautifully presented.

What can I say that hasn't been said? Fantastic server and the great atmosphere.Very neat , ultra local menu served at just the right speed with great variety. Will definitley come back!

Jessica Dang

This was the best meal I’ve ever had. The food was incredibly fresh, creative, and delicious. The wine pairing was also well worth it as the waitress provided very interesting backgrounds on each bottle. All the staff were lovely. Highly recommend!

I have been wanting to try Blue Hill since seeing Dan Barber on the Chef's Table series. His philosophy towards fresh produce and faultless attention to detail really showed in the tasting menu that was on offer during our visit. Dish of the night was the parsnip schnitzel but the fresh radishes from the farm during the amuse bouche was a great example of his attitudes towards food. Partner that with the welcoming knowledgeable service and the low lit relaxing setting and our evening was complete. Can't wait to return.

Steve Lionetti

Absolutely fabulous! We came here for our anniversary, and had high expectations, which were exceeded across the board. I am a self-admitted meat/pasta eater, so was intrigued by the idea of a more veggie-focused menu, but what I actually experienced blew me away. At the end of the meal between the food, the plating, and the service we could not have been happier. Strongly recommend.

Anthony Chan

Amazing food and super friendly staff. Atmosphere is extremely warm and inviting, not at all stuffy.

Jason Lampert

Blue Hill is remarkable. It's an OG farm to table place that takes what is freshest at the time and through creative cookery, spectaclar presentation, and supurb service elevates food to the highest level. The dining area is nicely decorated but as with many restaurants in the village, they have to make the most with their space, so it can be a bit loud. All of the food shows how food really should taste, every flavor stands out, yet harmonizes with the others. The bread and better, best ever, is worth a trip to Blue Hill just for them.

Andreas Vagelatos

Amazing food and really nice service. Wonderful dinner.

Neiriberto Borges

Dom, in São Paulo, is still the best food I've tried in my life. However, Blue Hill is a close second. The drinks are amazing too. And the service is simply the best. There's no way you'll get better service than the one provided by Chris, Davi, and the others

basheer bergus

Amazing meal every time - an experience that always feels worth it in the end. Service is so friendly and helpful, explaining the seasonal farm fresh menu in great detail. The food is incredible in it's simplicity of ingredients and the presentation is one of the best around. The farmers feast 6 course meal was so delicious and rich - i left feeling full and content. We sat last and the amazing staff allowed us to move to a corner, which was more spacious. During peak hours it will be crowded - have a reservation (available through open table!)

CHEFMODE By Pablo Rodriguez

Absolutely amazing experience at Blue Hill. We got engaged there last night and we were treated like royalty from the moment we walked in. The food was impeccable and the story riveting. One of the best meals we have ever had. Thank you for helping us make this night so special! We are thrilled!

Jonathan Godwin

Incredible food but we were disappointed with the service. Very impersonal and detached. The restaurant was packed and it felt like they had crammed in the number of covers to the detriment of the service.

Jackie N

Probably the best meal experience I've ever had. It is expensive but so worth the splurge even just once. Every dish was inventive and beautifully presented. Several of the courses are vegetable based and never are you presented with a salad, but rather mouthwatering bites of amazing food. The service is outstanding.

Rémy Baudet

The best culinary experience we ever had! Exceptional service. The price is high but not crazy given the quality of the place. They really listen to our taste and wills. Highly recommended!

Gina Hurtado

Making a reservation was quick, when we arrived our breath was taken away by the atmosphere. If you want to impress someone go ahead and make a reservation. Their food was top notch. Really great service overall.

Emily Jackson

Amazing place and this is a very special place for foodies.

Liz Amoro

We dined here during our last trip to NYC and it won't be our last visit. The atmosphere was everything you want when enjoying a meal. Staff are incredibly friendly and the food is out of this world.

Mike K

I wish this place was better. The service was amazing. The food was just ok. I feel this is a place that can get away with expensive farm to table because it is New York, and maybe lots of people have never had a fresh radish? Prosciutto on a broken plate is novel. I can’t recommend food to go for, or avoid, as the menu is seasonal and rotates. What we had was fine, but not amazing. Most places in a 10 block radius could have done the same or better. I was there in January which isn’t exactly prime farm season, however there are plenty of root vegetables and ideas that can be good.

Drake Stimson

Great farm to table. Wonderful food! Top notch service!! Fully satisfying, without feeling stuffed. Wish I could eat here every week!
