Somesweet Sunshine

Awesome. Super clean sleek dining area. Nice oldskool (old school) music. Decoration was geared towards music. Very Nostalgic place to dine. THE Milkshake was the best. Very friendly servers. Prices are not cheap but doable. I must add there is no way you can eat their burgers and still be hungry when you leave. Food was super filling and so freaking good OMG.

Arrived to this location around 8:30/9pm. Entered before two guests who were somehow seated immediately. Looked as though they knew the hostess personally. The same hostess turned around and told us that it would be a 45-60 min wait to be seated yet there was no one else waiting to be seated. It’s also worth mentioning the fact that there were parties that were already done and ready to leave and at least one empty table. If this one interaction is indicative of their service it’s safe to say I’m never returning to THIS Black Tap.

Stopped in for a quick dinner around 7pm on a Friday night. We were pleasantly surprised at getting a table right away and how quick the service was in general. Everything was hot and fresh and most importantly it tasted delicious. Good experience, will definitely go again when I'm in the area.

Great place to hang out, have a burger, a beer, a rib roast of beef, or some fish. Very comfortable environment. On the trendy side but approachable and relaxed atmosphere. Staff is very friendly and engaging. There is also no wait and the price was not bad at all.

1. Unfortunately, hostess was rude. Since it is a hot spot with 45 minutes of waiting for a table, stuff decided that they can afford rudeness. 2. Music if very loud there. Which doesn’t make pleasant experience as well. I think it is done on purpose. They want you to leave immediately once you finished your meal. Meaning you cannot relax there and have a conversation. 3. My milkshake was served in the chipped glass. The taste of milkshake was ok. Wasn’t bad, wasn’t good. Nothing special. This place doesn’t worth time spent there.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had. The burgers taste amazing, the French fries are the best I’ve ever had. I went for my birthday, and they celebrated with the entire restaurant. The service is amazing, the servers are the best, and the milkshakes are to die for if you have a big appetite.

This restaurant was recommended to us from a local when we visited. The food there was good, but the shakes were great! One of them comes with a full piece of cake on top! They definitely top as much as they can on top of them. If you go there for dinner, get there early, because it is a smaller place and the line was around the corner when we left the restaurant. Overall it was a great experience.

My daughter came from Baltimore to visit me but insisted we go to Black Tap for there milkshakes. I thought it strange but I took her anyways lol. To my surprise they have a very big very good selection of milkshakes and burgers. The fries were excellent the shakes are excellent and the burgers looked great. Next time I will be trying the burgers! Very cool atmosphere and great service!

Food was really good, fair price, i will skip the margarita. Fried pickles was amazing, highly recommend, i had the alla American burger and it was really good too, i also had the Cinnamon Toasted Crunch shake and it was deeeelish!! I won't give them five stars because of the margarita, but also because they don't have a waiting area, it was 90°F outside and we had to wait 40 min.

We went there on a Saturday solely for the extravagant shakes!! They told us the waiting time would be around 35 mins and ended up being 1.2 hrs or so. So be prepared to wait!! We sat in the basement level and it was really neatly decorated! I must say they were a bit expensive ($15-17), but they were sooo good!! You can easily share one with 2-3 people since all the additions (candy canes, chocolate etc.) fill you up quickly. But, overall we really liked the ambience, location and service. Our server was very attentive and gave us suggestions about what were the most sold ones. They also showed us how the process they prepare the wonderful shakes. We had a marvelous time here. Totally recommend;)!

So heres the thing with this place, I'm only giving it 4 stars because of the high quality food and because of our server Danielle R. When we first got there we watched these 2 guys in a skulli and a cap pretty much joke around while drinking their shakes as my girlfriend and I sat without even cups on our table. It wasn't till the host asked Danielle to take care of us that we got service. She was absolutely amazing and so was the food. If it wasn't for those two completely lazy guys I would have given this place a 5. I wish I knew their names because they do NOT need to be working there.

We came, we ate and we left pretty satisfied. We waited for an hour for a table for 6 that included a 4 and 6 year old. I would suggest to try to keep your party size to 4 if you want to get seated faster during dinner rush. I think there's one booth that holds more than 4 and the rest needs to join multiple tables. I know we didn't come here for the burgers but the food was surprisingly good. We had a burger salad, a spicy Mexican burger, the spicy Korean wings, BBQ wings, crispy brussel sprouts, teriyaki broccoli, fries, and onion rings.

INCREDIBLE burgers and shakes. Less ice cream in the shake than you might think, but plenty of other stuff to make up for it. But they’re so good. Only complaint is our server was not good. But she seemed to have too much to handle by herself anyway. But still not a bad experience.

People at the door were beyond rude (possibly "biased" as people of different skin tones didn't have to follow the same rules), food was not that good, i'd take a 5 guys burger over this any day and not have to wait. First time seeing if it lived up to the hype of the long lines....absolutely NOT, save your time spend your money elsewhere if you want a burger and milkshake.

Visited here while in New York on holiday, it was so good we came back a second time in the week! (Though we weren't brave enough to have a big milkshake both times). Great burgers, inventive cocktails and impressive milkshakes! Relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff who clearly love their job and it pays off! Good place to eat, drink and have a good time.

Was hanging out in Manhattan and walked over here for lunch....i had a great chicken sandwich and fries....it was really tasty but i can't remember the name of it. This place also goes all out with desserts....big sundaes with a garnish of pretty much every sweet thing you can imagine. Chances are you won't be able to eat lunch AND a sundae....you would have to be rolled outta there...but I highly recommend 2 visits...one for food...the other for dessert and a long walk after. Enjoy!

Black Tap is one of the most popular joints in NYC. The food is crazy , the ambience is great but the wait is forever! Expect an hour long wait for just getting into the place. That being said, the food was worth the wait. The burgers are amazing and the desserts are out of this world. Definer recommend this place. The place is a bit pricey but the experience was awesome!

I really enjoyed my all American burger! Only reason why I dont give the place 5 stars is because i tried getting 4 different beers off the menu and they said they ran out. Still the burgers were great. We also shared fried pickles which was good too.

I've always wanted to come here after seeing the photos. To this day, the shakes come out just like you would imagine them too. I did not have a chance to try the burgers however the shakes are great. Its a decent sized shake but there are more edible decorations around the shake then the contents itself. Definitely worth the trip.

My burger was delicious. I was too full to try a crazyshake so I tried a regular one which was alright but a bit overpriced in my opinion. The burger was also quite expensive, I've had better burgers for less. But delicious none the less.

Crazy milkshakes are visually stunning. Taste is delicious but they are more visual treat. Tried fries and they were ok. I cant rate the burger yet because we had them to go and by the time we got to them, later that night, bread was all soggy and taste wasn't that great. So wont be fair for me to rate them yet. Although there is always tomorrow.

Decadent milk shakes. We had a chocolate shake with brownies and kisses melted to the top section of the glass. The bartender was great. Super friendly. We didn't stay long, but I could see myself hanging at the bar and drinking a few beers.

Fantastic burgers and thick perfect fries...unfortunately I was too stuffed to try a shake! The atmosphere is laid back and fun with lots of neon. Great playlist and fantastic service. The hostess and food runner set the tone for a wonderful experience—we were treated like family. The pickles are Stupid Good.

1hr wait without a reservation. We had an 18-person party that wanted to experience their over-the top milk shakes but were disappointed by the lack of enthusiasm and/or appreciation from the host. He gladly took our money for unremarkable shakes sans decoration. Then we had to beg for straws. I was a little embarrassed as I had talked up this place to our out of town guests. We've frequented their other locations in the city but this one was closest to our dinner spot. I'll skip this one in the future and try other spots.

Great experience. We wanted to try the shakes and we got what we wanted, even maybe a little too much. The shakes are not bad but in my opinion too sweet and there is too much sugar flavors, you can't really call the crazy shakes a milkshake. The dessert is still impressive to see and to eat so I guess you have to try once at least. If you want to try one of theese huge milkshake I would recommend to share it. Otherwise, the staff is very professional and friendly.

This place is amazing. One of those must do things in the Cityu when you're visiting. Great burgers and sandwiches but the shakes are out of this world. I had a Chocolate and candy crusted sundae dish with huge brownies mounted on each side. I wish I had taken pics but not sure they would have done it justice. Can be busy but the line tends to move pretty quickly

Was extremely surprised by the quality of the meat they use for their burgers and their burgers tasted Omg tasty. I was very impressed by their food and their milkshakes/deserts are definitely an entire meal of their own lol. But I had the Texan burger, $19, and my friend had the Brooklyn Blackout milkshake, $15, and he loved it. Would highly recommend it!

It's a mediocre place, wasn't really impressed, was expecting way more than this after seeing all the social media hype about the place. Actually to be honest I enjoy the taste of shake shack's burgers more than I enjoyed the blue cheese burger I had over there. I ordered an ice tea, and was without any doubt the worst ice tea I have ever tasted. to be honest I did not try their shakes they really looked delicious (with too much calories and sugar), maybe I'll pay the place another visit for the shakes and not the burger.

Been hearing a lot about this place and location. Finally made it here for a team luncheon. Everyone at the table ordered burgers and fries except one of us. She ordered the chicken sandwich. Everyone's burgers and chicken sandwich was delicious. We all couldn't finish our fries. We all thought about the shakes but couldn't find room for it not even to share. Will definitely be back to try the shakes.

Absolutely nothing about this place was less than brilliant. Our waiter, Oscar. Was the most polite and friendly waiter we’ve ever had! He was so friendly and laid back and made us feel like nothing we wanted was too much. The music in there was great and the managers were very apologetic that we couldn’t dine upstairs because there was building work taking place. I dropped a glass which smashed, the staff made me feel like it was no problem at all and were so friendly about it. The food was cooked to perfection, the crazy shakes are exactly what they say- CRAZY. Atmosphere is 10/10, would definitely recommend, have had 3 groups of friends go there on our recommendation in the last 10 days and they’ve all said exactly the same!! Do try to arrive early though as it is SO popular and gets very busy!

I’ve been here a few times and always enjoy the food, service, and dessert. I usually get the mozzarella sticks (especially because it comes with vodka sauce, YUM) and the fried pickles are a great way to kick off my meal. The burgers are great—oversized! And of course, the crazy shakes are pretty crazy. One of the waiters/helpers is always there and SO attentive.

Lives up to the hype! While on the pricier side, Black Tap compromises with fantastic Pat Lafrieda meat burgers and an experience unlike your ordinary burger joint. Definitely a must south of Houston Street.
