This Restaurant belongs to the category of Family restaurant.
We had a very nice lunch there today. People were very nice. Price wise well within our range. They didn't mind that we sat and talked for a while. Did not have any ice cream but I guess they have excellent selections.
Love the ice cream variety & sitting area! Safe and fun for kids to run around on & the girls that served us were awesome.
Strafford Farms Restaurant is always one of the best!! Not only does it have excellent food and service, but it also has the most peaceful environment of any restaurant in the area. You can relax and enjoy a conversation with your seatmates without the assault of loud TVs, music or noisy neighbors. Probably my favorite restaurant!
Their hard serve ice cream is the best. Have been going there for fifty years.
Came with friends to celebrate a special holiday, sadly disappointed by very slow service for it not being very busy.
As always.... Strafford Farms has awesome fried foods and the Frappes are like no other anywhere in the US of A...
Very good pleasent service!!!
I come here from time to time because my mother likes this place. so for special occasions when I'm in the area visiting we'll come out. The food is mediocre the service is typically slow. The decor is dated, and run down. I recommend that you do not go here.
Went there last night for ice cream. Kitchen looked terribly dirty, gross walls, weird smell..young lady who took my ice cream order was nice but the gentleman with darker hair served me the wrong ice cream. Tried explaining and he was very rude, complained about me to a fellow coworker. Never going back. Don’t understand how someone could be so rude to a customer.
Good company......great prices..........food was very good..... comfortable atmosphere
I loved it because of how good their I've cream was
Amazing place very welcoming and cozy the ladies who work and own this place work super hard and the food is amazing they treat you like your part of there family and they check to make sure you have everything you need and it all came out well great place to eat
My blueberry pancakes wood burnt and tastes like weather when the waitress was told her only reply was was sorry do not offer to replace them
Service was slow, had to ask for coffee refills. Breakfast was adequate and not expensive. Many better options locally.
Great food and service
Such great people and excellent service!
Easy parking, friendly, experienced staff. Traditional menu with something for all
Hit or miss here, sometimes the food is really good, the last time we got take out here the food smelled like stale cigarettes... Like someone was smoking in the kitchen. Previous time before that we had a great meal (takeout) though expensive for what you get. Dining in though: we always feel rushed and the dining room is pretty empty.
Take out and ice cream very good, don't know much about main restaurant.
Great food portions and prices
Food was perfect, reasonable prices, great service Another great option is the "lite menu" for smaller portions.
Descent breakfast with the standard egg
Good family place. Food is good. The wait staff they are just so nice.
Food is good, waitresses are the best.
Excellent every time I go there. Love their soups . Never had a bad meal. Wait staff and do everything u ask re Stafford Farms
Food has been fantastic. Love the turkey pot pie.
Thanks Folks lunch was out of this world.
Paid over 20 dollars for ice cream there is more ice cream in a ice cream sandwich the girl who took my order was awesome friendly kind but food wise not a place for me ever again ice cream portion was very small for the price 7 spoonfuls if lucky
I have been going to this place since childhood and now they are beginning a new renovation to bring it up to date and its former glory. The staff is super nice family and the food is always fresh and delicious!
Great stop for a quick bite reasonably priced.
The best Homestyle food homemade ice cream and wonderful atmosphere.
Great service and the food there is great!
Strafford Farms. Is located across the street from a lake on 108 in Somersworth. The prices of your meal varies from medium to high. Food varies from having a whole meal or eating a good flavor of ice cream. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, and supper is served daily. Drinks are served. The second floor has music in the evening on the weeknights. Groups can reserve a room for they cause.
Always great food and great surrounding's
The main dining room has been remodeled with ceiling fans, new floor and new rug. The front waiting area was remodeled also, with a new siting bar. Today I noticed that they hired two new waitress. Today the breakfast tasted very good and was served fast.. many new faces. Seafood is fresh and local. Stop by and check it out for your self.
On a sweltering New Hampshire day, Strafford Farms had the best and most varied soft serve flavors to make the summer afternoon, that much better. Banana was the flavor I chose and it was tasty and refreshing. Watch out for brain freeze.
We had a group of 12 and everyone was pleased with their meal. Along with the good meal, the service was excellent and friendly.
Always great food...great service...We enjoy coming here and have the frequent diner points to prove it....
The person seating customers wasn't paying much attention and almost as soon as you walk in, there is a stale odor. Luckily, the service was good and plenty of food though
Excellent food and homemade ice cream !
Great customer service
It was good, the waitress we had was a little tied up and busy though... it's worth going.
Cheap place to feed your kids.
Food is better than expected, they've expanded the menu drastically which is really nice! Used to only carry deep fried things, but now they've got other selections such as sandwiches. Prices are very reasonable. Be careful about valuables in your vehicle however because the neighborhood sucks & we had an electric scooter stolen from the bed of our pick-up truck, it was well hidden & we were parked right outside the door & not inside long. It was a birthday gift & somebody took it within a week of her getting it & us only being in the building for 15 min. Staff are mostly younger high school or college students, but they do a good job & are courteous. Decent place to eat, especially for lunch & ice cream!
They did a great Thanksgiving dinner.
Breakfast Pizza so yummy!
Best Ice Cream Ever!!!
Good food at a good price
Went for breakfast nobody came to take our order let alone get our drinks!
Good place nice people good food
When asked, too incompetent to put soft serve ice cream into a cone, did not get cone or sprinkles correct, and long wait. Out of two types of ice cream on the same occasion. Ice cream was not great either; husband’s had ice crystals throughout. Came here once before and they were out of soft serve. Disappointed with experiences and will not be back.
Stopped here for a Sunday breakfast and was very happy. Food was good as were the prices. Definitely will be going back.
Bloody Mary Bar/Buffet upstairs
I've been going there since I was born! All time our family restaurant! They named a sandwich after my grandmother! Will always be my comfort food and their homemade ice cream is the Best!
Great food, great prices, great people .
Good food.
No wait time placed my order 5 minutes it was ready
A decent breakfast, reasonably priced. My dining Partners both had sausage gravy with biscuits, I had eggs benedict, very yummy.
I love the ice cream
Great service great food.
Their food is good but sizes are small. Ice cream is great! I see why everyone is complaining about one female waiter as being rude. I think I had a privilege of meeting her and I give all the credit to her that the place does not have as many customers as it should. Rest of the staff is great but her. I feel sorry for the place for still keeping her after so many bad reviews(I am sure they have a reason). I will not be returning anytime soon and it's only because of the lack of professionalism coming from one person. No, thank you.
Great selection of entrees anytime of day. Our favorite restaurant in Dover.
Great food. They went out of their way to make sure I wouldn't have allergic reaction & made my food without that ingredient. They care about the people who done there. Love it
Great local restaurant. Beautiful view of the lake coming and going
Love what you have with the remodel but kept the friendly staff and favorite foods. 5 stars!!!!
Early lunch. Not crowded. Meal was excellent!
Staff is polite, restaurant is clean. Food was brought to the table fairly quickly and tasted great. Overall pleasent experiance will be going back.
Newly renovated, best breakfast around!
Making ice on premise for over 60 years.
Quick service
Great old school cooking and friendly staff
The food and service was awesome I love Strafford Farms
The staff here is very short and doesn't give you answers to your questions. We waited an hour to be seated, which was understandable as they seemed busy, however no one could tell us the wait time or if they had a menu we could look at before we sat down. Once seated we waited 10 minutes to get our drink orders and another 10 to actually receive our drinks. Once we got our food it was bland and cold. Toast was cold, and not fully toasted. The omelette was just a few scrambled eggs thrown over some chopped veggies. The veggies were still raw in the omelette, not even heated through. You could see the "seasoning" on the home fries but they were bland as all hell and no amount of pepper or salt could save it. Being told it's busy is fine, but only when it is. Walking to your table and seeing half of them empty wasn't nice to hear. Our waitress took forever to come back and give us our check. Overall it was a terrible experience. 0/10 never going back
Great breakfast and service
We went in but no one waited on us or even seemed interested. The menu was very limited and while I know gluten free options aren't common, they had little variety.
Not really sure how the food or atmosphere is. I called to ask about breakfast and I'm sure they were busy but boy was the woman who answered rude. Should probably make sure your staff, even while overwhelmed, know how to talk to guests on the phone.
The attached back-forty grill is a staple for good food and ice cream quick!
Best ice cream around. Perfect waffle cones..
My favorite place to go for chile taco salads! Plus spot on service and a great draft beer selection.
This restaurant offers seafood and a well rounded American menu from liver and onions to taco salad. The prices are very reasonable. We had dinner and two drinks each and our bill came to $40.00. The food was great and it came within 15 minutes.
Great food and service
Waitress was awesome and good food
Just had a great Easter dinner in The Loft. The lamb was excellent.
Usually okay. Last time I was there I ordered beef stew as an entree. What I received was appetizer sized, the contents and consistency was that of a soup, not a stew and it was only luke warm. Very disappointing. Usually the food is better and of higher quality. Our waitress said she was new. It was obvious she needed more training.
Food quality and service is what you would expect from a 2-3 starplace
I went upstairs to the pub. The bartender and waitress were very nice, but the whole room smelled bad (like an unclean person who doused themselves in cheap perfume to cover up an even worse smell). The place really could use a renovation as well. It is kind of dingy and outdated.
Chicken Parmesan was excellent
Great icecream place. Little pricy but the icecream is good. The service is sliw so don't go if you are in a hurry.
I have been going there since I was a kid. The ice cream is the best.
Good food at a fair price
Biscuits and gravy were great. Beans were wat watered down. The waitress was nice but pretty forgetful. I wouldn't run back but I'd go back if I felt like having some biscuits. :)
The soup here was amazing. Delicate and savory.
Lovely Thanksgiving dinner and service.
Average food, nice decor and polite staff.
First time for me I thought it was excellant Great atmosphere very clean quick service Food was very good just needed to be a little hotter It wasn't cold I just prefer it to be hot Other than that it was great I will go back
The "Back 40" side of the restaurant has great grilled cheese sandwiches & great grilled hot dogs & ice cream options. Not crazy about the dinners in the main restaurant but come back every year for the ice cream for more than sixty years.
Not exactly my kinda breakfast place..the waitress was awesome...
Nice family restaurant. Good drinks. Bloody Mary bar sundays
Always a balanced meal. Plenty of coffee. Waitstaff always very friendly..
Their ice cream is excellent by their service really stinks. Their employees don't listen to your order and seem to always mess it up even when you tell them your order really slow because you've had that many bad experiences with them. I keep coming back cuz again I love the ice cream!
Food was good, had the lobster ravioli special. Friendly and fast service. Building needs some updating but was a nice quiet place for a meal.
Excellent, as always.
Great food, big menu, better ice cream and friendly staff!!!
Solid food at fair prices, I recommend the applemelt sandwich or stir fry, the loft is a really great time on the weekends
Great food and sevice
Good breakfast food. You can tell it’s definitely a local place. The service is good, but if you’re not local it feels like your being treated a little differently. But good food and good prices.
Was here for a BNI, didn't eat but they are friendly. Place looked like a great diner and a busy dinner place
It's fine. Very small town diner and everything looks straight out of your grandmother's house. The food is fine, waitresses are forgetful and the food was exactly what you expect it to be when come in - average.
Prime rib special....outstanding, cooked to perfection.
The young lady Mary Berard, such a polite & a true Must for this Resteraunt
The food is awesome. I really love their blueberry pancakes and grade a syrup.
It was inexpensive but don't allow dogs
Yummy yummy breakfast! The food is fast and service is great! We've never waited for a table in the weekend.
Absolutely the worst food I've ever had. Overcooked steak, over easy eggs were burnt, scrambled eggs were cold and bacon was greasy and undercooked. Will never return. Unfriendly staff and poor service
Very friendly atmosphere and accommodating. Food quality is great!!! No complaints here.
Amazing place great food, good vibes. Definitely a place for the family and friends to get away and enjoy a great meal. Check it out.
Always love eating at Strafford Farms! The food is great, and the staff is always amazing ❤
Good breakfast
Tasty down home good food. Friendly staff. Like family. Nice homey craft type items for sale too. I WILL be back!
Great food, great service.
Great comfort food at a good price.
Great cup of coffee with your typical breakfast fare. Much quieter than other places such as Turners so you can enjoy the food and conversation
Where to begin. The waitress we had was good. My food was good. But it took wayyyy to long to get our food and we were the only ones there when we order. My father's food came out wring and my mephews food did too. Which again took wayyy to long to get a new one everuone was almost done. The beer was warm. The manager came over and asked how things were I told him what was wrong. When we got the bill there wasn't even an adjustment. Most likely not going back there again.
Although i love the food and often stop after my visits to Boston the waitress i always get is rude she sneers and makes fun. She cut me off from speaking and then carried on a long conversation with my daughter. I had a call from my husband to make sure i was alright Now i don't usually take these in public, but it was important. She moved toward me and started yelling and laughing so loud i had ti call him back. we both asked for rootbbeer, on tap. It was the bottom and so was very weak. She brought my daughter a bottle so it wasn't weak. I get her all the time and she makes my dining experience unpleasant, to say the least. As much as i like the food the service is awful and do not plan on going back
the waitress was a snotty but the food was good
Good meal, great dessert
Always a great place to eat, and get together.....since I was a kid!
The place is great, but I work there. Very busy day. I'm beat. Omelettes are amazing. go on my day off for them.
VERY good selections, nice decor, and friendly service - maybe just a little slow. We were there mid-afternoon, it was almost empty and it took quite awhile to get the food. But it WAS worth the wait.
Place is slow food is terrible service is all old people who cant even understand what your saying food is average
Good food. Decent price.
Good food, service, prices!!!
Food was awful, hamburger was not edible. Waitress was very nice but service wasnt great. The chocolate ice cream was excellent.
I went here for breakfast on a Sunday. The next day, I realized that I had accidentally left my card there. I went back and gave the lady there my name. She opened up a drawer and pulled out some cards. I saw my card in there (I have a distinctive card since the images are specific to the old BoA military accounts). I told her which it was. She ignored me and said they have the card. I told her again that it's the one with the helicopter on it. She pulls out a completely different card and says my name doesn't match. Needless to say, I will not eat here again. It is unfortunate because my girlfriend likes this place a lot and so did I before this incident. Luckily, there's a Tuckers right nearby.
Monte Cristo out of this world!
Very good breakfast. A little pricey. Eggs bacon homestyle potatoes and wheat toast
Went and had lunch. It's one of those restaurants you'll want to visit on a empty stomach. Very good selection.
Good food, prices seemed fair, wait staff were friendly! Would recommend for food and ice cream.
Been a few times. Once the turkey pot pie my wife ordered had bones in it. Like whole bones. Just tonight tried the ice cream window and regretting that choice now. Not sure how a brownie sundae gives you food poisoning...also gentleman with slicked back hair tonight was rude as all hell. Dumped a dixi cup of strawberries on my wife's ice cream as I was holding it and had never heard or crunch coat. Also claimed he hadn't had lunch as they promised him. Odd character. I guess I should have know better than to eat food he served. I'm not going back.
Went for breakfast with four family members on a Saturday morning. There was not a crowd to get in and they weren’t busy but for some reason it took forever to get our order. The waitress barley could remember if we asked for water or milk. We ordered two chocolate milks for our kids and the milk was sour. It was so disgusting. And when I brought it to the managers attention she just said I’ll check the dates. No apology or anything. They even tried to charge me for food we didn’t order or receive. Don’t waste your money or time. Go elsewhere.
The food is so yummy. The wait staff is well trained.
The breakfast is great and staff is friendly
Good home-cooked style food. This place has been here forever, so obviously they're doing something right. There's a nice bar upstairs and during the summer they serve ice cream off of the side of the building. Little piece of Dover history.
Haven't been here in over 20 years. Went for breakfast and got an omlet.6 eggs???!!! Could only eat a quarter. Was was way overpriced. Was too I could have gotten smaller and would deduct 75 cents per egg. Food was eh...the place looked vintage 1975. Won't go back staff was friendly tho.. Just my thoughts
Great ice cream choices
A great family restaurant. It's a tradition for us.
The Back 40 Grill, around the back of the main restaurant, is one of my favorite places to stop and get a quick bite to eat. I highly recommend my go-to order: the haddock sandwich is flaky, tender, and crunchy, the onion rings are crisp and lightly breaded, and their cup of seafood chowder is honestly the best chowder I've had in a very long time - and I'm a New Hampshire native and come from a family of lobstermen and commercial fishermen, so I've had A LOT of chowder in my lifetime! Add to that the really pleasant staff and prompt service, and you've definitely got a winner as far as I'm concerned. If you still have any room after your meal, try the homemade ice cream; it's worth the calories! Don't let the simple seating and decor fool you; the prices are affordable, the food is simply delicious, and I guarantee you'll leave happy.
We had the jalapenos stuff with cream cheese and wrapped in Bacon, the rest was also so good we also got caught doing the yum yum yum!!! The waitress was excellent, name escapes me , nice lady blonde hair very fit. We met some nice folks there and had a great conversation
