Wonderful gourmet mean in an unexpected location. We had a great conversation with the owner of the restaurant and attached Inn. He and his wife are transplants from Bermuda, thus the name "Onions" , and he is very civically minded regarding the development and beautification of downtown Tilton.

Nice place. The rack of lamb SUCKED! It was flavorless, tough, raw in the center. I suspect it was cooked from frozen. Brown on the outside and raw on the inside. Don't waste your money.

My daughter lives in Tilton and has been here before. I had the pleasure of dining there with her and her husband and my wife tonight. This is a hidden gem in "downtown Tilton". Service was great, our waitress was one of the owners. Atmosphere was elegant. The food and presentation was spectacular! Will definitely be back.

We went to Onions for a Celebration of Life luncheon for my Nana. The owner and his staff were so accommodating and compassionate. The buffet was delicious and plentiful. We had a private room and it went so well. Very much appreciated.

They have done an incredible job of catering to a special needs diet as well. The owner sat and talked with my wife about exactly what she needed and then had it done.

My favorite place in town. Menu ranges from basic pub fare to quite refined, and all of it is excellent. Good beers on tap if you want them, but they don't overcharge for domestics. Wonderful staff, and set in a beautifully restored historic building. Well worth the short drive from 93 if you are passing through.

Went on a Sunday night around 7:30, the place was dead. They were out of mussels, clams - so we got calamari as an app. Overcooked and crunchy. Would not recommend. The scallops I got however, were cooked very well. My husband got crab stuffed haddock and he enjoyed it. Would go back mostly due to lack of restaurant options in this area.

I had such high hopes for this place. We went in at 11:50 (they opened at 11). They were out of multiple items on the lunch menu. I asked what the soup of the day was (also on the menu) and the chef hadn't come up with one or even begun to cook it yet. We asked for extra crispy wings and they barely looked cooked. The chicken in the chicken tenders was an odd texture and very dry. They comped us $2.40 on a $60 meal. Taste of food was ok, I would not go back. Ambience was nice, and the server did her job.

Stopped by Tilton just before dark for a bite to eat while heading north. We ate on the porch and watched the town activities in the nice evening air. Food was good and the staff was extremely polite. Found out we were right across the street from an arch built in the 1800's by one of the Tiltons so we went over to have a look just before resuming our trip towards mount washington. If you go during the day there are some nice picnic tables up by the monument in a beautifully manacured grass field. Get some take out and go enjoy. The Onion pub and restaurant has a pub side and sit down restaurant. You can eat in ether side. If you are traveling with a group they had a small banquet area in the back you could likely make arrangements to use for an event.

Onions Pub and Restaurant! Such an absolutely delightful place to eat! I loved every bit of it. The hostess was sweet and friendly, the waitress was prompt. Our food not only looked appealing but was absolutely thrilling to eat. The prices were a little high for a quick bite, but if you plan on enjoying your meal, as I did, it’s worth every penny. 5 stars from this NY city girl.

Great Food, Great Atmosphere, Great Hosts. Gave this place a try for a quick dinner based upon the reviews on TripAdvisor.... was really glad I did. Very friendly atmosphere, pretty obvious the host/owner/bartender gets along great with the patrons as there were a lot of regulars. Had the fish & chips... perfectly cooked Haddock, with just the right amount of batter, not too greasy. Took the bartender's recommendation and got the Onion Rings instead of the chips (since the chips weren't really french fries) and again, glad I followed a recommendation. They were huge, right amount of batter. Really enoyed the food & experience there, wish I had more time, seemed like a good place to have a beer, watch a ball game on TV, and strike up a conversation with the friendly bartender.

My fiance and I love Onions, it's our favorite restaurant. We eat there at least once a week. The regular menu is great, the daily specials are creative and all the food is delicious. The staff and owners are friendly and courteous. We've been going there since we moved to the Tilton area, 5 years ago, we've always had good food, good service and a good experience. I highly recommend Onions.

Food was good service was awful. The sever was ok to start but slow. Our food was taking an long time to come 20min for lunch especialy for only 3 tables. I asked our server kelly why was it taking so long she immeditly got defensive and started bickering with me. I told her i too worked in the culinary industry she then implied that we must microwave our food and they only cook fresh at the onion. Dont know any kitchen that does not have a chef mike. After she was nasty and condasinding and rude and would not come by the table although she was very nice and playfull with the other tables. Wont ever go back

Wonderful food and staff. Yes, the decor is a bit dated. The owners have had restaurants in Bermuda and have relocated here, hence Onions, the nickname for native Bermudans. They have hornet food, wonderful specials and great pub food ( i.e. Bangers and Mash) and the best burger in NH. If you ask for their wedge fries well done, it's like eating potato skins.

Haven't eaten there, but the drinks are very nicely priced. I got a blueberry lemonade cocktail for w little over $6. The atmosphere at the small bar was very friendly and homey feeling thanks to the lady who was serving that day. I'll go back!

The restaurant has two sides - one side is a more traditional dining room and the other is a cozy pub with a roaring fireplace, bar, booths, and high top tables. Lamb chops were delicious as was the Shepherds Pie and stuffed haddock ordered by family. Ordered the onion rings because with a name like Onions I hoped they'd be incredible. Unfortunately, they were way too bready and rather bland. Our waitress was a doll. Took a rather long time to get our meals; definitely some issues in the kitchen. Overall tho, a good experience and we would return again.
