You need to come here for a signature cocktail. I had the keep your gin up and Oaxaca Flocka flame. I don't usually feel compelled to bars, but I will assure you these cocktails you can't afford to pass up.

Great food! Right on Main Street, so very easy to get to. I went last the night of a Dartmouth hockey game when most restaurants in town were full, Murphy's had plenty of seats available and very quick service. Would recommend!

Heck, I don't even know what a Collegial Gastropub is (even google spell check flagged both words), but this place rocks. Good food, and a great pour on the Guinness. Fun fact- the books in the library are all fake. Well, not fake exactly, but they are all cut in half. Not sure why, maybe to save on space, but somebody went through the trouble of cutting A LOT of books in half to save maybe 4 inches of shelf space. Check it out if you don't believe me.

Best dining experience I've had at Dartmouth. Ambiance is really nice, and my waiter was super friendly and attentive. Portion sizes are fair. The Murph Burger is the best burger I've had around Dartmouth! Meat is perfectly seasoned, cooked exactly how I requested (med-rare), and the toppings complement the meat well. Would highly recommend Murphy's if looking for good American food!

This is a popular pub with the business school crowd. The bartender apparently knows everyone by name. The food is expensive, but delicious- I loved the mac & cheese. Despite the high food prices, the drinks are very reasonably priced!

Called in at lunchtime for food and drink. Server was polite, helpful and attentive, great. We had the famous burger and the pulled pork sandwich. Fries and sweet potato wedges. Burger was cooked exactly to my request - medium to well, not too pink. It was juicy and very flavorful. Fries fabulous. I preferred them to the sweet potato wedges. Pulled pork sandwich delicious, though you have to like the jam (relish) on the sweet side. Really enjoyed the high standard of the food. Also good beers. Would’ve liked the temperature of both the room and the food to be higher.

This restaurant, like most, if not all, is mediocre. It doesn't do much that is unique, and it doesn't do much that is terrible. The food is okay, the service is okay - it's all okay. I think that Hanover needs some better restaurants than this. If I were to have to go out in the town of Hanover for dinner, I would not know where to go. For breakfast, it says, on their coffee mugs and napkins I think, "Gotta go to Lou's". They are right. If we had a restaurant like Lou's for dinner that was specifically good at just dinner, that's where I would go. Murphy's is just not that place.

Me and my boyfriend were first planning on going to Molly's. I asked the hostess if we could put our number down to get a call back for our seat when it was ready and her response was "we don't do that, so maybe try back again another time" lol. Thankful she deterred us, because we walked past Murphy's and so happy we decided to dine here. We got an awesome IPA, a semi-sweet cider, my bf got the lobster club and I got the Murph Burger and both were delicious and juicy. the Apple crisp cheese cake was to die for. Our waiter Fred was awesome, he knew the entire menu and all of the flavors and what to recommend. GO TO MURPHS. oh and we sat in a really cool library that felt like a 'speak-easy'.

Can't speak to the food because I had already eaten, but the restaurant was a wonderful environment. It was clean, well decorated, and the service was prompt. The patrons were a lively group, but not boisterous, just good energy. Good selection of local drafts. No difficulty grabbing a table for 2 on a Saturday night.

Wings were tasteless and the pad thai was like soup. Sent that back and got fish and chips that was passable. It was the servers first day - the apps and main course came out at the same time. Pretty painful experience.

Impromptu visit on the way to the White Mountains. Found this little pub near the campus of Dartmouth University. Fabulous meat and pork meatball appetizer. Lobster Mac and Cheese is to die for. Nora behind the bar was very friendly. Definitely will be back.

An amazing place, with magical atmosphere, but VERY overpriced. Prices are comparable with some fine dining experiences in Seattle, but what you're getting is pub-food (which is good, but not nearly good enough to justify the prices.)

We're in Murphy's pretty regularly. Great bar area and plenty of cozy seating. I find the food tasty -- mostly comfort pub food -- and love the burgers. Always know exactly what to expect -- that's a good thing!

Decent food for Hanover, and attentive service. Dined here recently with a friend from Dublin who objected to the hovering waitress: "In Ireland someone would have told her by now to go away and not come back." But to me it wasn't over the top. Good beer selection. Full bar with friendly bartenders.

The best bar staff in Hanover. Simon has the speed of a cheetah at the bar and the grace of gazelle. He pours drinks like they should be poured. His physical appearance resembles a young Fabio the model. And his smile will melt the cheese your burger. For which they have best in Hanover. I don’t even care that the head chef is my current girlfriends ex-boyfriend. The man can cook. Open late and thank god cause this town will kill you with out a bar.

It a wonderful place. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent. I had the fish and chips as my dish, a restaurant pick. The fish was flounder lightly battered and the chips we're nicely deep fried but fresh. We had a great chat with the owner Nigel Lemmings both during our meal and as we departed. The restaurant has lots of charm.

I visited Dartmouth College this weekend and on Friday evening I visited Canoe Club and had a good burger. Tonight (Saturday Night) I ate at Murphy’s and the burger was amazing! Best in New Hampshire I would have to say (though I’ve only been to Portsmouth and Hanover). Just amazing! I got the “Murph” burger and it was great! Bacon, cheddar cheese, aioli, and a tasty burger! Must try if you’re visiting the Dartmouth / Hanover, NH area.

I got the pulled pork, which was delicious, but the brocolini (sp?) was bitter and disappointing. Over all a nice ambiance and my sister and I had fun. There isn't all that much to do around Dartmouth but we will find it all in our 6 days here.

Always good atmosphere and the bar tenders are good value and friendly. Worth stopping in for a beer or two if you feel like a beer on one if these hot summer days. Menu is typical pub food, but they do have some great choices on there.

Well known pub/restaurant on Main Street in Hanover. Went for lunch and not too crowded. Gets more action evenings and can be crowded. Excellent service (Jackson). Menu not too extensive. Veggie burger (veg head) good. Spicey chicken burger was excellent. Very cool bar. Local beers on tap. Also domestic beers. Kid's menu and kid friendly. Nice lunch

Standard and reliable American fare, with a healthy selection of libations. We last came with a group of 15, for which service was impressively quick and efficient. In terms of food, both the hummus plate and their nachos are perennial favorites; entre-wise the mussels are pretty popular - I opted for the seared salmon with soba noodles which did not disappoint either.

Came mid afternoon. Was seated at a table during shift change and it took about 10 mins before someone arrived to take order. House salad was tasty but got sirloin burger, which wasn’t as good as others raved about. Had a strange taste, like it was defrosted from a frozen patty and cooked. Bun too big and fries had too much pepper but were tasty. If you want a quality burger, I’d look elsewhere. The environment was nice and the staff friendly.

The drinks here are really good. Food is great, but sometimes a miss, especially with meats. I had a pretty dry steak and dry burger on two separate occasions. But everything else had been perfectly delicious. The desserts are always great. It's a nice bar like atmosphere, upscale in its own way but casual. The service is usually good.

Murphy's is a Hanover staple. It's a great meetup spot for a quick bite or dinner, or to meet friends for drinks. Murphy's has an excellent pub menu, and the staff is attentive, friendly, and swift. Come as you are, in a suit or post hockey game you'll always feel comfortable here. Good place to watch a game, and they also have a back room for events that looks like it would hold 30 people or so.

First time ordering from here and after so many people raves about the burgers I was highly dissatisfied. I paid $17 for a side of cole slaw which also was terrible and a burger that was not good at ALL!!! Probably will not be eating here again
